When I was driving my 98 Honda accord lx . I notice it shuts off itself if hitting a hard bump . Then I noticed online they had folks saying that the ignition switch was beginning to be a big issue . I nearly died after picking my 2 kids up from school the car shut off in the middleof the intersection.it’s even a recall on the insurance app about the same part . Do I need to call Honda myself and I shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket for this . Everything shuts off no lies no throttle until I shift in nuetral to crank vehicle up
The contact owns an Evenflo Car Seat, Model Number: 36412348, Model Type: Nurture Max, Manufactured Date: 8/17/2022. The car seat was being utilized in a 1998 Honda Accord. The contact stated that she noticed that the latches on the left and right side of the safety seat failed to attach as designed. Additionally, the pull latch snapped from the safety seat. The safety seat was not inspected or replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the car seat was still in use, just without the base. The manufacturer instructed the contact to destroy the defective seat once the replacement arrived.
The contact owns a 1998 Honda Accord Sedan. The contact stated stopped at a traffic light, a second vehicle crashed full onto the rear bumper of her vehicle. The contact stated that her trunk and side rear panels were crushed. The contact stated that the second vehicle crashed her vehicle twice in the rear due to the second vehicle had still been accelerating. The second impact sent the contact's vehicle forward, a second time, into the street curb. The front bumper and the driver-side front tire suffered damage. The bumper was crushed and the driver-side tire had been deflated. The contact stated that the air bags did not deploy. The contact said she hit the steering wheel with her chest and was rendered unconscious, she had bruises on both feet, shins, and knees. The contact had not been able to move her arms without pain and had pain in her chest, and collar bones. The contact thinks she had hit the side and roof of her vehicle with her head because the top of her head and the left side hurt. The contact stated that her son was bruised on both legs, knees, and shins. She said that he had back pain as well. The contact and son were driven by a friend to the Emergency Room. There were no police on the scene. The second vehicle, which was a light truck, had suffered no damage and drove away. The contact had the vehicle towed to her residence. The vehicle had not been diagnosed by a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.
The contact owns a 1998 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. Additionally, the battery had to be recharged on several occasions in order to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. No repair was performed and the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failures. The failure mileage was 155,000.
Honda refuses to replace recalled airbags. I've been trying for a year and even when they "order" the part they don't have it when I arrive. This has happened repeatedly. I was in a car accident today and the airbags didn't deploy and they should have. After reading all the online complaints I feel lucky they didn't deploy and extract flying metal pieces. Its inexcusable to have a recall and then refuse to fix the problem. Honda's negligence could have cost me my life today. * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS

HELLO. I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FRONT AIRBAGS OF MY CAR AND THAT THEY COULD UNDER INFLATE OR RUPTURE WITH METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL NOTICE THE PARTS FOR REPAIR OR NOT AVAILABLE YET. THIS IS SOMETHING I'M VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. WOULD ANY TYPE OF RENTAL CAR BE AVAILABLE THROUGH HONDA MOTORS UNTIL THE PARTS TO ARRIVE AS I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY??

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA EARLY THIS YEAR REPORTING THAT THE AIRBAGS IN THE 1998 ACCORD ARE NOT SAFE AND MUST BE REPLACED. AFTER MULTIPLE CALLS TO THEM TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT THE PARTS NEEDED ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I DEPEND ON THIS CAR TO GET ME TO WORK EACH DAY AND CANNOT STOP USING IT. WHAT OTHER OPTIONS DO I HAVE?

MY CAR KEPT JERKING IT ALSO HAD STOP WHILE MY FEET WAS ON THE METAL WHILE ON EXIT 41 MY CAR SPIN AROUND AND ALMOST COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER CAR AFTER THE ACCIDENT
THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATE DRAINS ONTO THE SUBFRAME ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING THE ENGINE. THERE IS A RUST HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE FRAME AT THIS LOCATION, FIRST REPORTED BY THE DEALER TECH AND NOTED AS 'COMMON'. MY MECHANIC AND I WATCHED IT GROW FOR A COUPLE YEARS TO THE POINT NOW WHERE HE SAYS IT'S BECOMING RISKY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE LIKELIHOOD OF CATASTROPHIC FAILURE.
THE VEHICLE FAIL STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE THE SUB-FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR. WHAT HAS BEEN THE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSE, HAVE THEY ISSUED A RECALL? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

MY IGNITION TURNS OFF WHILE IM DRIVING.
THE CAR LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING AND OPERATING THE CAR. THE IGNITION COMPLETELY SHUTS THE CAR OFF. THE CAR CAN RESTART, BUT THE IGNITION CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF REPEATEDLY
THE AC DRIP TUBE IS AIMED RIGHT AT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME AND RUSTS IT OUT OVER TIME. JUST RECENTLY I HAD THE SUBFRAME TOTALLY FAIL AND SNAP IN HALF DUE TO THIS RUST. THE SCARY PART WAS THAT I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS ONLY GOING 5 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED. IF IT HAD HAPPENED FIVE MINUTES SOONER THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH WORSE SITUATION. NOTICE IN THE PICTURE I ATTACH THAT THE WHOLE CORNER OF THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT EVEN THOUGH THE REST OF THE FRAME AND BODY IS RUST FREE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE MAKING A TURN IN A FLAT PARKING LOT AT ABOUT 5 MPH. THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED ISSUE ON ALL 97-02 HONDA ACCORD AND 00-03 ACURA CL VEHICLES SINCE THEY ARE THE SAME BODY/PLATFORM. I WENT TO A JUNKYARD RECENTLY TO SEE IF I COULD FIND A GOOD SUBFRAME TO REPLACE MINE WITH AND EVERY SINGLE HONDA ACCORD AND ACURA CL IN THE LOT WAS RUSTED OUT EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. THIS CLEARLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE SUBFRAME HAS THREE OF THE FOUR ENGINE MOUNTS ON IT AND THE SUSPENSION IS ALL CONNECTED TO IT AS WELL.

TAKATA RECALL? I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM MY CO WORKER WHICH STATED THESE ISSUES WERE ALREADY HAPPENING FOR MONTHS, FIRSTLY THE CLUSTER CLUSTERS INSTRUMENT GAGES DO NOT WORK (REPLACED THEM AND NOTHING HAPPENS) , ONLY THE GAGE LIGHTS TURN ON. THESE INCLUDE THE GAS GAGE, RPM, SPEEDOMETER, TEMP. WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE, THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES EVEN THOUGH YOU TRY TO BRIGHTEN THE LIGHTS WITH THE DIM KNOB THEY ARE HARDLY BRIGHTENED ITS HARD TO SEE THE CLOCK TIME OR ANY THING THAT LIGHTS UP TO HELP SEE AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DONT WORK, THE HORN DOESNT WORK, CRUISE CONTROL DOESNT WORK. AS IF ALL THESE ARE TIED TOGETHER THRU THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. (CHECKED ALL FUSES AND REPLACED MOST) MY WIND SHIELD LEAKS IN THE TOP CORNERS, THE TRUNK FILLS WITH WATER EVERYONE IT RAINS DUE TO A LEAK. DEFECTS IN THE SEALING MY REAR VIEW MIRROR FELL OFF ON MY WAY TO WORK TODAY AS WELL WHICH CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO CRACK AROUND WHERE THE MIRROR WAS. THE HOOD LATCH IS HARD TO CLOSE, I HAVE TO USE PLIERS TO PUSH DOWN THE LATCH BEFORE SHUTTING HOOD, (THIS IS ANOTHER PART I REPLACED WITH THE SAME FACTORY PART NUMBER) IT LOOKS TO BE THE SPRING. BALL JOINTS I AM GUESSING... WHEN BARELY TURNING THE WHEEL EITHER WAY YOU HEAR A GRINDING NOISE LIKE METAL AGAINST METAL. ITS A SCARY SOUND WHEN MAKING TURNS NOT SURE IF THE WHEEL IS YOU G TO BREAK OFF WHILE MAKING THE TURN A COSTLY ISSUE DAILY I HAVE TO ADD OIL TO THE VEHICLE THE OIL PUMP GASKET SEAL LEAKS EVERY TIME THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. EXTERIOR ISSUE THE PAINT LOOKS HORRIBLE DUE TO THE TOP CLEAR COAT PEELING. NOW AFTER RESEARCHING, I REALIZE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THESE ISSUES. PLEASE GET THESE ISSUES FIXED

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AFTER BEING DEEMED TOTALED AT THE SCENE. LATER ON, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V026000 (AIR BAGS) WHICH SHE THEN LINKED TO HER FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MATTER AND WAS INFORMED THAT A REPRESENTATIVE WOULD CALL HER BACK; THE CONTACT HAD YET TO HEAR FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,800.
THE PASSENGER FRONT DOESN'T LOCK AND CAN BE PULLED OUT BY HAND AFTER IN BUCKLE. BOTH REAR SEAT BELTS DOESN'T HAVE ANY BUCKLE'S TO ATTACH TO. THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG COULD BE COMPROMISED.

MY HONDA WAS SOLD TO ME WITH NO REAR SEAT BELTS, AND THE HORN WHEN HOOKED UP DEFAULTS THE BRAKE LIGHTS.
THE FRONT SEAT BELTS DON'T LOCK INTO BUCKLE. THE REAR SEAT BELTS HAVE NO BUCKLE'S. DRIVER STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG IS COMPROMISED.
ENGINE CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING....PULLED OVER BUT ENGINE STILL RUNNING AND A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. ...CONTINUED DRIVING HOME.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON A MULTI LAND ROAD IN TRAFFIC THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER PULLING OVER I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART ENGINE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPT OF TURNING THE KEY ALL INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE ON.
I PAID $1300 TO REPLACE A TIMING BELT AND A LEAKING WATER PUMP. THE MECHANIC TEST DROVE IT WHEN THE REPAIRS WERE FINISHED, ONLY TO DISCOVER A LOUD SQUEAKING WHICH REVEALED A RUSTED RIGHT FRONT SUBFRAME THAT I HAVE FOUND, AFTER SOME ONLINE RESEARCH IS FAIRLY COMMON AND DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF A DRAIN TUBE THAT LEAKED WATER OVER THIS SPOT ON THE SUBFRAME FOR 20 YEARS.
TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. IT IS SLIPPING BETWEEN SHIFTS, WHICH LEADS TO SPIKED RPMS BECAUSE OF THE DELAYED SHIFT. THE SHIFT IS ALSO VERY HARSH, WHERE IT JERKS, SHAKES, AND RUMBLES THE CAR. GEARS ALSO GRIND OCCASIONALLY BETWEEN STOP AND FIRST GEAR.
PASSENGER SIDE SUBFRAME HAS RUSTED JUST BEHIND WHERE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CONNECTS. THIS RUST IS NOT VISIBLE WHEN VIEWING FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN ON A LIFT, MAKING FAILURE OF THE SUBFRAME IMMINENT. HONDA SHOULD ADMIT A DESIGN FLAW EXISTS WITH THE AC DISCHARGE AND REPLACE THESE BAD FRAMES. WHAT A DISGRACE. SAD TO SAY I WILL BE SWITCHING BRANDS. I PREFER COMPANIES WHO STEP UP TO THE PLATE TO PROTECT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS FAILURE IS VERY HARD TO DETECT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE. SHAME ON HONDA. I ALREADY HAD MY BALL JOINTS FAIL (RECALL EXISTS FOR THEM) AND I ONLY HOPE MY SUBFRAME HOLDS OUT A LITTLE LONGER.
