ACCELERATOR STICKS WHEN CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A WHILE CAUSING EXCESSIVE ACCELERATION DURING FIRST PEDAL DEPRESSION. POTENTIAL PROBLEM IN TIGHT PARKING LOT SITUATIONS. DEALER NOT CONTACTED. CAR OUT OF WARRANTY.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE SRS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY BATTERY AND CABLE. SEARS INSPECTED THE BATTERY AND FOUND NO FAILURES. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A SHORT IN THE BOARD. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND NUMBER OF CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 79,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. UPDATED 01/11/08. *LJ THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE SRS LIGHT REMAINS ON AND WILL NOT GO OUT. NO REPAIRS HAS BEEN DONE REGARDING SRS SYSTEM. *TR
WHEEL BEARINGS ON FRONT DRIVER SIDE REPLACED TWICE AND ONLY 64K MILES ON THE CAR. ACCELERTOR PEDAL HAS BEEN LOOKED AT A COUPLE OF TIMES NOW - BUT CONTINUES TO STICK ESPECIALLY FIRST THING IN THE MORNING OR AFTER SITTING FOR A LONG TIME IN COLD WEATHER.*JB
I BOUGHT MY 2000 HONDA ACCORD BRAND NEW. I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY IT SHIFTED ROUGH BUT I KEPT IT ANYWAY. IN 2003 AT 84000 MILES I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT ON A BUSY DAY. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD TOO MUCH TRANSMISSION FLUID IN IT. THEY CLEANED THE FILTER, AND SENT IT BACK. IT WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I TOOK IT BACK AND THEY MADE SOME ADJUSTMENT, AND IT RAN SOMEWHAT OKAY. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER IT BEGAN TO DO IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE, AND THAT THE PREVIOUS YEAR THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUED ON THE CAR. I WAS 2-3 THOUSAND MILES OVER THE EXTENSION AT THAT POINT. I KNEW THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD THE YEAR BEFORE. THE CAR WOULD NOT RUN RIGHT AFTER THAT. DEALER KNOWS THEY WERE IN THE WRONG AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE WITH ME. THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING I CAN DO. I CAN'T AFFORD $4000.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION RIGHT NOW. I OWNED A 2000 HONDA ACCORD LX 4 DOOR SEDAN WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS 34,672 MILES. THE CAR MAKES LOUD NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. I FOUND A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN (00-038) THAT WAS SIMILAR TO MY PROBLEM, BUT IT ONLY COVER V6 MODELS.
2000 ACCORD SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. CUSTOMER STATES HONDA SHOULD FIX HIS VEHICLE WITH NO CHARGE SINCE HE WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS. *KB THE CONSUMER LEARNED THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 WHICH EVER CAME FIRST, HOWEVER THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE HAS EXCEEDED THE 150,000 MARK. *JB
MY SON'S 2000 HONDA ACCORD IS FITTED WITH FOUR BRIDGESTONE BLIZZAK TIRES FOR WINTER DRIVING. I SUGGESTED THAT THEY BE INFLATED TO 32 PSI AS INDICATED ON THE DOOR FRAME PLATE. THE INSTALLER INSISTS, HOWEVER, THAT THEY SHOULD BE RUN 5 PSI LOWER (I.E. 27 PSI) THAN NOMINAL. I THINK THAT RUNNING AT THE LOWER PRESSURE IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN VERMONT WHERE FRIGID TEMPERATURES DROP TIRE PRESSURES EVEN LOWER. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER'S CONSUMER WEBSITE HAS BEEN UNRESPONSIVE. PLEASE ADVISE WHERE I CAN GET EXPERT ADVICE ON THIS MATTER.

I HAVE DIFFICULT STARTING THE HONDA, IT HAPPENED MORE THAN TEN TIMES. IT ONLY HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR IS WARM - NEVER A COLD MORNING. YOU CAN FORCE IT TO START BY PUTTING MORE GAS THRU THE ACCELERATOR. BUT WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE IT WILL DIE ON THE ROLLING. THIS ALMOST CAUSED ME AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, THE HONDA DEALER CANNOT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH IT. HONDA, 2000 ACCORD, IDLING PROBLEM - FAIL TO START WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM (AFTER A LONG DRIVE-RESTART). ADD GAS TO ACCELERATOR TO GET IT START, BUT WILL EXPERIENCE ROUGH IDLING AND ENGINE DIE AGAIN.
BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, MY CAR ACCELERATED, SKID ON ICE AND HIT A TREE. I PUT IT IN DRIVE BUT AGAIN THE CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL. I COULD NOT CONTROL ITS SPEED, AND BRAKING WAS INEFFECTIVE. IT COULD NOT BE STOPPED. I WENT THROUGH THE BACK WALL OF OUR GARAGE, CAUSING GREAT DAMAGE.
AROUND THIS TIME PERIOD MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION SINCE IT WAS GIVING ME PROBLEM . THE CAR WAS WITH DEALER FOR 5 BUSINESS DAYS. IT WORKED FOR A WHILE AND THEN IT HAD SOME PROBLEMS WHEN IN TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD AND SOME CODES WERE PROGRAMMED IN SEPT'02. IN DEC'02 MY CAR HAD A TOTAL BREAK DOWN AND IT NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR A REPAIR. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 4 CYLINDER, 2000 HONDA ACCORD, LX WITH 35000 MILES ON IT. THE NEXT DAY, I NOTICED THAT THE GAS PEDAL WAS NOT RESPONDING TO SLIGHT FOOT PRESSURE WHEN THE CAR WAS FIRST USED IN THE MORNING. IT SEEMED TO BE STICKING AND THEN SUDDENLY RESPOND TO FOOT PRESSURE. BECAUSE OF THIS CONDITION, THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY LURCH FORWARD WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO TOLD ME IT WAS AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THE 2000 ACCORD AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NO REMEDY OR RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THAT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL AUTO SERVICE BUSINESS WHOM I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR OVER 15 YEARS. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A BUILD-UP OF CARBON ON THE ACCELLERATOR LINKAGE- ESPECIALLY IN THE 2000 HONDA. I HAD HIM CLEAN THE DEPOSIT ($60 PLUS $4.50 FOR CARBON SOLVENT) WHICH IMMEDIATELY REMEDIED THE STICKING. HE TOLD ME THAT IT SHOULD BE DONE EVERY 10K MILES OR WHEVER IT BECOMES STICKY AGAIN. I REALLY BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HONDA SHOULD COME UP WITH A CORRECTION AND RECALL OF ALL 2000 ACCORDS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED. DO I HAVE ANY RECOURSE WITH HONDA? HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.
DT: THE TRANMISSION WILL SHIFT GEARS VERY LOSELY AND MAKES A CLUNKING SOUND BUT ONLY WHEN IT IS IN REVERSE. NOW IT SHIFTS SLUGISHLY. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS IN OCTOBER OF 2002. *AK DASH BOARD LIGHTING GOES BLANK. A FAULTY MULTIFLEX LIGHT UNIT WAS FOUND. FRONT BRAKES WORN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. FOUND FAULTY EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY AND REPLACED. SRS LIGHT IS ON. FAULTY OPDS UNIT WAS FOUND. *TT
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS FAILED AT LOW MILEAGE. OWNER HAS TO REPLACE IT AT THE DEALERSHIP. GREAT SAFETY CONCERNS HERE AS IT CAN FAIL AT HIGH SPEED. DT
ONE MONTH AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED I HAD TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS. FIRST MY ALTERNATOR WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED AS SOON AS I STARTED GETTING SOME SOUND. THE VERY NEXT DAY I GOT A CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ON. WHICH RESULTED IN SOME EMISSION PARTS BEING ORDERED TO BE REPLACED TODAY WHEN I CAME OUT OF THE DELAERSHIP MY SRS INDICATOR STARTED TO DISPLAY . I HOPE THE AIRBAGS WONT MALFUNCTION...

CAR WOULD NOT START AND STALLS WHILE DRIVING. I HAD TO TOW IT TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES. FIRST TIME, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR NEVER STARTED FOR ME, IT STARTED AT THE DEALER'S PLACE. SECOND TIME, DEALER ADJUSTED BASE IDLE AND CAR REPEATED SAME PROBLEM AFTER COUPLE OF DAYS.THIRD TIME, DEALER AGAIN ADJUSTED BASE IDLE AND CAR REPEATED SAME PROBLEM AFTER COUPLE OF DAYS.FORUTH TIME, DEALER CHANGED CONTROL MODULE AND CAR REPEATED SAME PROBLEM AFTER COUPLE OF DAYS. FIFTH TIME, DEALER CHANGED DISTRIBUTOR, IGNITION COIL, IGNITER UNIT AND CAR REPEATED SAME PROBLEM AFTER COUPLE OF DAYS. NOW AGAIN THE CAR IS WITH THE DELAER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER 2 YEARS OWNING THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 17K MILES FRONT BRAKE PADS HAD WORN COMPLETELY AND HAD BEEN REPLACED BY A MECHANIC. AFTER REPLACEMENT WHEN ODOMETER SHOWED 19.5K MILES BRAKES HAVE BEEN OVERHEATING EXTREMELY AND LATER BRAKE PEDAL DURING USAGE STARTED TO EXHIBIT HEAVY PULSATIONS. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC THAT REPLACED PADS WITH HONDA BRAND PADS AND DISCS HAVE BEEN RESURFACED. AT 25K MILES VEHICLE PEDAL PULSATIONS CAME BACK, ROTORS METAL TURNED BLUE AND OVERHEATING WAS BAD. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A BRAKE DESIGN PROBLEM AND DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE ON MY OWN. I HAVE A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MASTER DEGREE. AT ABOUT 40K MILES I MADE ROTOR REPLACEMENT AND OILED CALIPER BOLTS. ALSO, I INVESTIGATED HOW TOYOTA BRAKES OF SIMILAR CAR SIZE NEVER GOT SO HOT AND FOUND ONE CONSTRUCTION ELEMENT THAT DIFFERENT BETWEEN HONDA ACCORD 2000 BRAKES AND TOYOTA CAMRY BRAKES. TOYOTA BRAKES USE V SHAPE RETURN SPRINGS ON A BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE PADS HAVE HOLES IN THEM TO ACCEPT END POINTS OF THESE V SPRINGS. I DRILLED HOLES IN HONDA BRAKE PADS USING TOYOTA CAMRY BRAKE PADS AS A REFERENCE. ALSO, BENT V SHAPE RETURN SPRINGS FROM PIANO STRING 1.2 MM (BOUGHT IN ACE HARDWARE) AND INSTALLED THE SAME WAY AS ON TOYOTA. ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT 40K MILES. CURRENTLY CAR HAS 127K MILES AND SAME ROTORS AS I PUT IN 2004. I MANAGED TO GET 35-45K BETWEEN PADS REPLACEMENTS AFTER THIS MODIFICATION AND OVERHEATING OF ROTORS HAS STOPPED. WHOEVER INTERESTED IN FIXING THIS HONDA BRAKE DESIGN PROBLEM MAKE SURE TO OIL CALIPER PINS AND CALIPER SIDE CONTACT ELEMENTS OF BRAKE PADS DURING REPLACEMENT WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE GRAPHITE GREASE. THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN RESURFACING YOUR ROTORS! USE TOYOTA CAMRY BRAKE PADS AND V SPRINGS AS REFERENCE OR JUST BUY V SPRINGS DESIGNED FOR CAMRY (BRAKE REPAIR KIT). THIS WILL SOLVE ALL OVERHEATING AND DISK WOBBLING FOREVER. *TR
THE DASHBOARD LIGHT LABELED "SRS" ILLUMINATED AROUND 34,500 MILES. ACCORDING TO THE PROVIDED OWNERS MANUAL THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS NON-FUNCTIONAL AS INDICATED BY THE SRS LIGHT. I HAD THE SYSTEM EXAMINED BY THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED PASSENGER POSITION SENSOR, LOCATED WITHIN THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEALER FIXED EVERYTHING BUT THE SENSOR, CLAIMING THAT IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. SEEING THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM IS OVERALL SAFETY OF THE CAR, WHICH COMPOSED A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF MY REASONING TO BUY THE VEHICLE I ADVISED THEM TO REPLACE THE PART, AT APPROXIMATELY $500 ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WILL NOT FUNCTION AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE OF THIS POSITION SENSING COMPONENT AND SEVERELY COMPROMISES THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE FOR ALL OCCUPANTS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE COMPANY AND DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING UNTIL I PERSONALLY FOLLOWED UP, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR, WHEN THE PART ARRIVED. CURRENTLY, MY SRS SYSTEM IS INOPERATIVE FROM NO FAULT OF MY OWN. I DON'T THINK THAT HONDA SHOULD MARKET, INSTALL AND SELL SUCH A SYSTEM IF THEY CAN NOT SEEM TO GET IT TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY FOR AT LEAST 35000 MILES IF THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND IT, ASIDE FROM THE FACT THE POSSIBILITY OF A SEVERE INJURY HAS NOW INCREASE BY AND EXPONENTIAL AMOUNT, WHAT CONSUMERS PAY TO PREVENT AND INSURANCE COMPANIES OFFER DISCOUNTS TO PROMOTE, DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF THE FACTORY INSTALLED DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS. SEEING THE FACT THAT THE SUPPLY IS INSUFFICENT TO MEET THE DEMAND FOR THE PART LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT THE ONLY WHOSE SAFETY OF BOTH PASSENGERS AND DRIVER A LIKE IS BEING COMPROMISED WITHOUT THE PROPER FUNCTION OF THE PURCHASED SYSTEM. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE SECOND TIME WITHIN A YEAR. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPUTER WAS TOO SENSITIVE AND THEY HAD TO ORDER A NEW COMPUTER - WAIT WAS APPROX 3-4 MONTHS. THIS HAPPENED AT 3600 MILES AND WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. LESS THAN A YEAR LATER THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS OXYGEN SENSOR AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM IS UNRELIABLE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITHIN 53K MILES.*AK
CAR WAS PLACED IN PARK. MOTOR SUDDENLY REVVED WITH LOUD CLANKING SOUND AND VEHICLE SHOT FORWARD AND HIT TREE. AFTER COLLISION, TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO REVERSE.*AK

IT HAPPENS DURING ACCELERATION, DRIVING AND STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE MOST DANGEROUS TIMES WHEN IT HAPPENED IS WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AND BEING HIT ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF VEHICLE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HILL AND HAVING CRUISE CONTROL ON VEHICLE WILL START TO ACCELERATE. VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE ACCELERATING WHEN HAVING CRUISE CONTROL ON. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
VEHICLE ACCELERATED FROM A COMPLETE STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, CAUSING A COLLISION. THE ENGINE RACED AND THE BRAKE BECAME COMPLETELY DISENGAGED. FOOT WAS APPLIED TO BRAKES WHILE CAR WAS BEING SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARD, CRASHING INTO A UTILITY POLE. CONSUMER THEN PLACED VEHICLE IN DRIVE, AND IT ACCELERATED FORWARD. BRAKES WERE APPLIED, BUT CAR WOULD NOT STOP. CONSUMER HAD TO PURPOSELY CRASH VEHICLE INTO A FENCE IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP.*AK *NLM
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. WE BOUGHT A NEW 2000 MODEL YEAR HONDA ACCORD IN NOV. 1999. AT 22K MILES (MAY-JULY 2001), THE GAS PEDAL GIT STUCK WHEN THE CAR WAS NOT USED FOR A WHILE, LIKE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. WE HAD TO STEP ON IT HARD AND RELEASED QUICKLY. THEN IT WAS GOOD FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. WE REPORT THIS TO THE DEALER (LEITH HONDA). THEY FIXED IT AND I HAVE THE REPORT. A FEW MONTHS AGO THIS PROBLEM RE-OCCURED. WE HAVE ABOUT 44K MILES NOW. LEITH HONDA CHARGED ME $85 TO FIX IT. THEY DID NOT CHARGE US THE FIRST TIME. THEIR REASON IS THAT MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THIS STICKY GAS PEDAL PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY GASOLINE. THEY FURTHER CLAIMED THAT ALL OTHER VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE GASOLINE. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO BRING THE CAR IT AND CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY ON A REGULAR BASIS. OTHERWISE THIS STICKY GAS PEDAL PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR. I HAVE SO MANY CAR IN THE LAST 25 YEARS AND NEVER HEARD OF THIS KIND OF NEWS. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY CAUSED BY THE STICKY GAS PEDAL. WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ME TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM? I PURCHASED A HONDA ACCORD COUPE IN JULY 2000. EXACTLY 2 YEARS TO THE DAY THAT I RECEIVED THE CAR, I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE SRS LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND STAYED ON. THE DEALER CLEARED A DIAGNOSTIC CODE. 10 DAYS LATER I BROUGHT IT BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED THE OPDS UNIT. EVERYTHING WAS OK FOR 2 YEARS. IN NOVEMBER 2004 I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER CHECKED THE CODES AND FOUND NONE. IN AUGUST 2005 AGAIN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.. THEY REPLACED THE PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE, WITH IN 2 DAYS THE SRS LIGHT CAME BACK ON. IT HAS BEEN OFF AND ON SINCE (AS OF 10/28/05) *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE LOWER FRONT OF THE VEHICLE FELL TO THE GROUND AND THE WHEELS GRAVED IN. CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO INDICATED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD BROKEN OFF. CONSUMER HAD PART REPLACED,AND SEVERAL MONTHS LATER ANOTHER BALL JOINT BROKE OFF. CONSUMER SEEMS TO THINK THIS VEHICLE HAS A DEFECT IN THE BALL JOINTS. PH
THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS HAPPENED AT THE EXACT LOCATIONS AT THE EXACT PART FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE WISHBONE SUSPENSION SYSTEM SWAY BAR ONCE FAILED AT THE PLASTIC JOINT, THE SECOND TIME FAILED AT THE WELDED JOINT. THE PART IS MANUFACTURED BADLY.*AK
VEHICLE AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATEDWHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. VEHILCE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME, AND THEY WERE INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE NEED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *LA
HONDA SAYS THEY WILL NOT COVER THE PART BECAUSE THEY SAY IT CRACKED AND THERE MIGHT BE EVIDENCE OF A HIT. BUT THE CAR HAS NEVER HAD AN ACIDENT AND HONDA SAYS THEY WILL NOT COVER THE PART. I THINK THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFTEY THREAD. AND IF ANY BODY DIES DUE TO FALURE OF THIS PART IN THE FUTURE HONDA SHOULD BE CHARGED.*AK
ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS CLOSED DUE TO OBSTRUCTION IN THROTTLE BODY. TO OVERCOME INERTIA; EXCESS PRESSURE ON PEDAL IS REQUIRED. WHEN OBSTRUCTION CLEARS; ENGINE RPM IS VERY HIGH CAUSING VEHICLE TO SURGE IF IN GEAR. CLEANING THROTTLE BODY IS REQUIRED EVERY SIX MONTHS. COST IS PROHIBITIVE. *NM

THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE TRANSMISSION LEAK(BLEEDING OIL) THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS TWICE @ 22500 MI & 39929 MI. THE FIRST TIME HAPPENED THE DEALER ADDED DYE AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT FOR A WEEK AND BRING THER CAR BACK FOR CHECK UP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PRESSURE HOSE IS LOOSE SO THEY TIGHTENED IT BACK THAT WAS FIND WITH ME. BUT THEN @39929MI IT HAPPEN AGAIN AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THEM AT THE DEALER IN DIAMOND BAR THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO LEAK BECAUSE THE OIL FLIUD IS AT THE FULL LEVEL. BUT WHEN I ASKED HIM WHY IS THAT THERE ARE LOTS OF DIRT BUILD UP AROUND THE TRANSMISSION AND IT IS STILL WET(OIL MIX WITH DIRT). THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ANSWER BUT JUST TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK AND WAIT TO SEE IF IT STILL LEAK. THIS IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL. AND ALL ALONG I DO FEEL THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING AS SMOOTH AS BEFORE. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF HONDAS OWNERS THAT HAVE TRANSMMISION PROBLEMS AS WELL.
