MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER THE RECALL WAS FIXED
TAKATA RECALL: AIR BAG PASSENEGR SIDE LIGHT TURNS ON MULTIPLE TIMES EVEN A PASSNGER IS SITTING ON THE FRONT SEAT WITH PROPER RESTRAINT PRECAUTIONS. ELECTRIC: BRAKE LIGHT FUSES KEEP BLOWING INTERLOCK IGNITION SWITCH: THE KEY CAN BE DISENGAGED/REMOVED WHILE GEAR IS STILL IN DRIVE MODE. SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. KEY SHOULD ONLY BE DISENGAGED IN PARK MODE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE SRS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT WHILE THE AIR BAG INDICATOR FLASHED ON AND OFF. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
RIGHT SIDE OF SUBFRAME IS RUSTED TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS A 6" GAP, THE DAMAGE SEEMS TO BE DIRECTLY UNDER A/C DRAIN HOSE, I NOTICED THIS WHEN REPLACING BRAKES.
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 15V-320 I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2001 HONDA ACCORD THAT HAS AN AIRBAG FROM A 2002 HONDA ACCORD. THE 2001 MODEL DOES NOT HAVE THE CURRENT HONDA AIRBAG RECALL BUT THE 2002 MODEL DOES. THE VIN FOR THE 2002 MODEL IS [XXX]. HONDA REFUSED TO REPLACE THE RECALLED AIRBAG. THE CONTACT CALLED HONDA OF ESCONDIDO AT (760) 737-3200 (LOCATED AT 1700 AUTO PARK WAY, ESCONDIDO, CA 92029). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 230,000.

SRS LIGHT STAYS ON, IT IS APPARENT FROM GOOGLING THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM, THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION ON TURNING OFF THE SRS LIGHT, BUT I FEEL THAT'S UNSAFE.

FRONT ENGINE CRADLE (PASSENGER SIDE) RUSTED THROUGH, FAILED STATE INSPECTION. AC HAD NOT BEEN USED FOR 5-6 YEARS, JUST FIXED BEFORE THIS SUMMER. ACCORDING TO OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINS, SEEMS IT WAS DUE TO MISPLACEMENT OF AC DRAIN (BY DESIGN) WHICH DRIPS WATER TO THE AFFECTED AREA. MILEAGE 108800.
WHILE CHANGING THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY CAR I NOTICED THE RIGHT REAR CORNER OF MY SUBFRAME WAS HEAVILY RUSTED. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION THE SUBFRAME HAS RUSTED THROUGH IN SEVERAL SPOTS. DIRECTLY BELOW THE AIR CONDITIONING DRAIN TUBE I WAS ABLE TO PUT A FINGER THROUGH THE METAL WITH LITTLE TO NO PRESSURE. THE LOCATION OF THIS DRAIN TUBE ALLOWS WATER TO DRIP DIRECTLY ONTO THE SUBFRAME. THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE SUBFRAME HAS BARELY ANY RUST ON IT AT ALL. SEARCHING THROUGH THE INTERNET I FOUND MANY REPORTS AND STORIES FROM OWNERS OF THE 1998 TO 2002 HONDA ACCORDS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. A WALK THROUGH A LOCAL JUNKYARD YESTERDAY PROVIDES FURTHER PROOF THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND HONDA NEEDS TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE PROMPTLY.
DASHBOARD AIR BAG LIGHT TURNED ON; THIS PROBABLY MEAN, THAT IF AN ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR, THEY WILL NOT INFLATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2001 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BROKEN BONES TO THE CHEST AND RIGHT KNEE, AND INJURIES TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HEAD. THE CONTACT WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR OVER SIX MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO A SALVAGE LOT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
I PURCHASED MY HONDA AND IT WAS A WRECK AND REPAIR BUT ALL THAT WAS DAMAGED WAS PASS DOOR AND FENDER NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT FRONT SEAT BELTS HAVE NEVER WORKED THEY ARE LOCKED .WHEN THE TAKADA AIRBAG RECALL CAME I TOOK MY 2001 HONDA ACCORD TO HINDA OF MORRISTOWN TN AND TOLD THEM ARE BOUT THE SEAT BELT ISSUE AS WELL AND THEY SAID THE AIRBAGS HAD TO HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED ARE BOUND BECAUWE OF THAT THEY WOULD NOT WARRANTY THE SEAT BELTS IT WOULD COST ME 1200.00 AND NOR ONLY THAT BUT WHEN I ASKED IF THEY REPAIRED THE TAKADA AIR BAG ISSUE THEY DIDN'T SAY YES OR NO I CALLED BACK ASKED FOR A INVOICE AS TO WHAT THEY DID TO MY CAR AND WAS DENIED .SO I MAY STILL BE IN DANGER OF THAT RECALL AND THE SAD PART IS I HAVE A SMALL CHILD THAT I HAVE IN MY VEHICLE
I HAVE 117000 MILE ON HONDA ACCORD 2001 (V4) AND CAR IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE AT SIGNAL OR STOP SIGN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE RECOMMENDING TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION FOR $4600 BECAUSE IT'S FAULTY.
TWO RECALL WERE DONE AND I STILL HAVE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. I BELIVE SOMETHING WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING. VEHICLES BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING ACCIDENT WHERE INJURIES TOOK PLACE. DRIVER APPLIED BRAKE BUT PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO STOP. INSTEAD OF STOPPING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FROM 20MPH TO 65MPH ON ITS OWN AND THERE WAS NO WAY OF STOPPING IT. EMERGENCY BREAK WAS THEN TRIED, WHEN THIS DID NOT WORK, CAR WAS PUT IN NEUTRAL IN HOPES THAT THIS WILL SLOW DOWN CARS UNWARRANTED ACCELERATION. IT WAS WHEN VEHICLE HIT A POLE CAUSING TIRE TO MANGLE WHICH CAUSED VEHICLE TO STOP, HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THIS COLLISION WITH THE POLE THE CAR WOULD NOT HAVE STOPPED EVEN WITH ALL THE OTHER ATTEMPTS. ALL STAR HONDA 414-269-1399 IN MILWAUKEE, WI WAS CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT WHAT MIGHT CAUSE BREAK MALFUNCTION AND ACCELERATION, MECHANIC BY THE NAME OF BELAL INDICATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAK LINES OF THIS PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. HE MENTIONED THAT IF BREAK LINE HAS PRESSURE IN IT IT MIGHT CAUSE THE LINE TO BURST THEREFORE CAUSING THE BREAKS NOT TO WORK. HE COULD NOT GIVE AN EXPLANATION FOR THE ACCELERATION, ALTHOUGH OTHER MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME IT CAN BE A NUMBER OF FACTORS FROM THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR TO SOMETHING ELECTRICAL OR MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR ETC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND DRIVING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL RATTLING NOISE. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS RUSTED AND THE SERVICE/MAINTENANCE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,875.
THE SUB FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS EXTREMELY RUSTED OUT ON THE TOP SIDE OF THE FRAME MAKING IT HARDER TO NOTICE. THE DRIVERS SIDE IS FINE, BUT UNDER THE AC DRAIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ALMOST RUSTED THROUGH MAKING THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE. FORTUNATELY, I NOTICED IT WHILE REPLACING THE STABILIZER LINK BUT THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN FOR HONDA.

WHEN THE CONTACT'S WIFE PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND ALMOST RAN OVER THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ARROW HEAD HONDA (8380 W BELL RD, PEORIA, AZ 85382, (623) 562-9054) STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT SERVICE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,632.

I HAD NOTICED A RED ILLUMINATED LIGHT READING SRS ON MY DASHBOARD I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT IT WAS AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH OF WHAT THE WARNING SIGN WAS. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THE FRAME IS ROTTED OUT UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WELL MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE DRIVERS SIDE IS FINE. THE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE DRIPS AT THE SPOT THAT IS RUSTED OUT. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED.

2001 HONDA ACCORD - VEHICLE NOT LISTED ON THE RECALLS LIST, BUT THE SRS WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF
UPON A STANDARD OIL CHANGE AT 160,000 MILES, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT SUB FRAME HAD RUSTED THROUGH ON THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE. I WAS TOLD TO TALK TO A BODY SHOP IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE THE CAR WASN'T "ROAD SAFE". LOOKED INTO THIS A BIT AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ACCORDS FROM THIS TIME PERIOD DUE TO THE PLACEMENT OF THE AIR CONDITIONING DRAINPIPE (WHICH EMPTIES RIGHT ONTO THE SUBFRAME) . THE CAR FOR THE MOST PART IS RELIABLE, MINUS THE TRANSMISSION THAT FAILED AT 130,000 MILES. BUT A FRAME SHOULDN'T BE "RUSTED THROUGH" AFTER 15 YEARS! SOUNDS UNSAFE, CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF THESE CARS THAT ARE STILL ON THE ROAD. CALLED HONDA TODAY AND WAS INFORMED THE REPAIR WOULD COST OVER $1200 WITH NO GOODWILL ON THEIR END. FIGURED THIS WAS THE BEST ALTERNATIVE TO THE SITUATION.
TAKATA RECALL - ON JAN 10TH 2017 MY SON WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH HIS 2001 HONDA ACCORD AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND STUFF HIT HIM IN THE FACE HE WAS BLEEDING ALL OVER HIS FACE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND ITS NOW SITTING IN A JUNKYARD HERE WHERE WE LIVE I HAVE PICTURES OF THE CAR. MY SON WAS RUSHED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM IN RENO, NV. HE IS OK NOW AND HE A LOT OF CUTS, BRUISES AND HAD WHIPLASH. THIS CAR WAS NOT SAFE FOR A TEEN TO BE DRIVING FOR HIS FIRST CAR! THE CAR LOST CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY AND BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES OFF THE GUARD RAILS AT 65 MPH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROSENTHAL FAIRFAX HONDA (11020 FAIRFAX BLVD, FAIRFAX, VA 22030) AND THE INDICATOR WAS RESET; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL PAGE HONDA (6715 ARLINGTON BLVD, FALLS CHURCH, VA 22042) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OPDS SENSOR AND OPDS UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY AIR BAG LIGHTS COME ON BOTH SIDES
TRYING TO AVOID CAR INFRONT, MY SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MPH, CAR WENT DOWN TO THE EMBANKMENT, AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD GOING INTO SECOND GEAR. KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH 2001 HONDA V6 TRANSMISSIONS. AMERICAN HONDA ("AH") HAS ADMITTED MY CAR'S TRANSMISSION SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED, BUT THEY DID NOT SEND ME THE NOTICE AND NOW THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED. MANY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AND NOW WE ARE STUCK WITH TRANSMISSIONS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED AT $4500. MY CAR IS UNDER 143,000 MILES. DRIVING MY CAR WITH THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND AH DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE DESPITE MY VARIOUS CALLS TO THEM AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGING IT WAS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAD THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL ON MY HONDA ACCORD. I CALLED THE NUMBER THAT WAS PROVIDED IN THE LETTERS HONDA SENT TO MY HOUSE. WE HAD THE TAKATA AIR BAG ISSUE FIXED ON NOVEMBER 7TH AT THE HONDA LOCATION IN NEW ROCHELLE. AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THEM, THE SRS LIGHT TURNED ON WHICH IS RELATED TO AIR BAG. I CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING. I HAVE TO TAKE IT ON MY OWN AND GET IT FIXED BUT HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? I CALLED A FEW HONDA LOCATIONS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC! HONDA PUTS IN DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS AND THEN THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIX IT AND AFTER THAT I GET A LIGHT FOR AIR BAGS AND I'M TOLD I HAVE TO FIX IT ON MY OWN? EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH HONDA AND THEIR SERVICE. THIS IS BEYOND FRUSTRATING.
SIDE AIRBAGS LIGHT COME
IGNITION SWITCH SHOULD PREVENT THE DRIVER FROM RETRIEVING THE KEY WHILE SHIFT LEVER IS IN ANY POSITION OTHER THAN PARKING.
