THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V001000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE) THAT COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THE TRANSMISSION IS FAIL ACCORDING TO HONDA DEALER INSPECTION, HONDA DEALER DOES NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM NEITHER THE HONDA MANUFACTURER. AIR CONDITION DOES NOT COOL ON EVEN IT WAS REPAIRED ONCE BUT IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. *TR

THE DISPLAY HAS GONE OUT. THIS IS A KNOWN FACT FOR HONDA. THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. MANY EXPERIENCE AFTER THE WARRANTY. CIRCUIT BOARD IS FAULTY AND THEY KNOW IT, WHY NOT REPLACE IT FOR OWNERS WHO SPENT MONEY ON THEIR PRODUCT. THIS TAKES AWAY FROM SOME VISIBILITY INSIDE VEHICLE. I'M TOLD IT MAY BE A HEAT ISSUE... *TR
TRANSMISSION WENT WITHOUT WARNING AS I HEADED UP A SMALL HILL ABOUT TWO MILES FROM MY HOUSE. MY MECHANIC SAID THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO MY SECOND GEAR AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
THE LIGHTS ON THE RADIO AND AC PANNEL DO NOT WORK, THE LCD DOES NOT DISPLAY THE RADIO STATIONS OR THE AC TEMPERATURES. NOW I FIND THAT THE COST IS OVER $800.00. ALSO I REMEMBER THAT WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE, IN THE PAST, THE TECHNICIAN ASKED ME IF I HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE DASH LIGHT, SEEMS HE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OVER A YEAR AGO.

THE TECHNICIAN STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND MOTOR MOUNTS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,263. .. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONE AFTERNOON AND IT BEGAN TO RAIN. WE TURNED ON OUR WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. WE WERE FORCED TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO WAIT OUT THE STORM SINCE WE HAD ZERO VISIBILITY WITHOUT THE WIPERS. OUR WIPERS HAVE NOT WORKED SINCE THAT POINT. I HAVE NOTED THAT THE 2003 HONDA ACCORDS HAD A RECALL FOR A DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND THIS SEEMS TO FIT THAT DESCRIPTION THOUGH HONDA HAS INFORMED ME THAT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE 2004 ACCORDS, DESPITE THIS BEING AN IDENTICAL ISSUE THAT IS NOT COMMON OUTSIDE OF THIS DEFECT AND IS ON A SIMILAR MODEL. IT IS A RATHER DANGEROUS SITUATION TO OCCUR SINCE ONE WILL ONLY NOTICE THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING DURING A RAINSTORM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BECAME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO A STOP AND THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. UPON RESTART, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE CONTACT THEN ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE DISPLAY LIGHT ON THE RADIO WENT OUT AND I CANNOT SEE TO TURN OTHER ITEMS ON AT NIGHT, IE AIR/HEAT/ ETC. WHEN I LOOKED ON LINE I FOUND A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. HAS THERE BEEN AN OFFICIAL RECALL? *TR
AFTER VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR APPROX 10 MINUTES THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND THE MOTOR WOULD REV UP. CAR PARKED AND THEN TRIED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN AND SAME THING HAPPENED. CAR WOULD NOT GO MORE THAN A FEW MILES AN HOUR, LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAR TOWED TO HONDA DEALER. WAS TOLD THAT THE VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SPOKE WITH HONDA CORPORATE AND FILED A CLAIM. HOWEVER THEY CONTINUED TO SAY THE CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. DEALER NOTED ON INVOICE THAT TRANS SLIPPING IN 1-2 GEARS AND SLIPS ON 1,2 UP SHIFT. FLUID IS DARK. I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON A CAR WITH ONLY 68,472 MILES. *TR
ENTERING ON-RAMP ON FREEWAY WITH SPEED OF ABOUT 45MPH AND I HEAR MY ENGINE ACCELERATE AND SEE MY RPM'S INCREASE RAPIDLY, BUT MY HONDA ACCORD 2004 SLOWS-DOWN AND TRANSMISSION REFUSES TO ENGAGE INTO ANOTHER GEAR. THEN TRANSMISSION DECIDES TO WORK AGAIN. HONDA ACCORD 2004 OWNERS PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS AND REPLACE TRANSMISSION ASAP TO AVOID ANY INJURY OR DEATH. THIS HAS BEEN THE SAME STORY FOR MANY HONDA ACCORD 2004 OWNERS....I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER ON THE HONDA WEBSITE FOR RECALL-DATABASE AND NOTHING RESULTED AS A SAFETY RECALL..... I WILL PRESENT MY DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION TO HONDA AGAIN. ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR TRANSMISSION IS ALMOST 5K!!! *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 60 MILES AN HOUR THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE CAR JERKED AND LURCHED DOWN TO 35 MILES AN HOUR. IT WAS AS IF THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WENT TO NEUTRAL AT 7000 RPM'S THEN WOULD NOT INCREASE ABOVE 3RD GEAR. TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CHANGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. AFTER THAT INCIDENT, THE CAR WAS DRIVING FINE FOR TWO DAYS. BROUGHT THE CAR FOR INSPECTION AT A HONDA DEALER WHO TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINE. FOUR DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN TRAVELING AT 55-65 MILES AN HOUR THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT AGAIN. EXCEPT THIS TIME THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR AT ALL. IT SMELLED AS IF MY TRANSMISSION WAS BURNING. I'M TOLD THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEEMINGLY OUT OF NOWHERE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS. I WAS LUCKY THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC OTHERWISE I COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
IGNITION PROBLEM- CAN NOT TURN KEY IN IGNITION SWITCH, CAN NOT TURN ON CAR. LEFT ME STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN SEARCHING COMPLAINTS THERE HAS BEEN PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS FOR SAME PROBLEM. WHY NO RECALL FOR PROBLEM. I AM TOLD IT WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. AIR BAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON- I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE. ALL OF THE GAUGES WERE OPERABLE BUT THE LIGHTING WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
I DROVE SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 15 FROM VICTORVILLE TO FONTANA, CALIFORNIA, AND WHEN I PARKED THE CAR I NOTICED THE SMELL OF SMOKE COMING IN THROUGH THE AIR VENTS AND SAW A BIT OF WHITE SMOKE COMING UP FROM THE BACK OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HOOD. WE DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING HIGH-PRESSURE FEEDER HOSE HAD A LEAK UNDER THE BUSHING THAT FITS INTO THE ENGINE HOSE CLAMP. THE LEAK WAS SMALL BUT PRODUCED ENOUGH LIQUID TO DRIP ONTO THE REAR OF THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST COMPONENTS, WHICH THEN HEATED THE FLUID AND CAUSED IT TO SMOKE. WE DUCT-TAPED THE HOSE FORWARD OF THE HOSE CLAMP, WHICH HELPED STOP THE LEAK AND DIVERTED THE DRIP A BIT REARWARD, AND WE DROVE THE CAR HOME. WE ASSESSED THE HOSE CONDITION AND CONSULTED WITH HONDA DEALER SERVICE AND PARTS PERSONNEL TO SEE IF THERE IS AN IMPROVED REPLACEMENT HOSE ' APPARENTLY NOT. I PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT OEM POWER-STEERING HIGH-PRESSURE FEEDER HOSE AND O-RINGS FROM MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND HAD THEM INSTALLED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE HIGH-PRESSURE FEEDER HOSE WITH FLAMMABLE POWER-STEERING FLUID IS POORLY ROUTED CLOSELY ALONG THE TRANSVERSE-MOUNTED ENGINE FRONT AND ACROSS A REAR CORNER, ABOVE HIGH-TEMPERATURE ENGINE AND EXHAUST COMPONENTS, INCLUDING THE PRE-CAT. THIS PLACEMENT AND HOSE FAILURE IS VERY MUCH LIKE THOSE IN RECALLED ACURAS, ALSO MANUFACTURED BY HONDA, DETAILED IN RECALL IDS # 68810, DEC. 4, 2007; # 70296, FEB. 27, 2008; AND # 82159, APRIL 29, 2010. *TR
TRANSMISSION WOULD BECOME EITHER COMPLETELY DISENGAGED OR CAR WOULD LUNGE FORWARD AS TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO LOW GEAR. VERY SCARY WITH INFANT IN BACK SEAT. NEED TO COMPLETELY REPLACE TRANSMISSION AT 80,000 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A VERY EXPENSIVE ONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE RPMS INCREASED RAPIDLY. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO DIFFERENT GEARS WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES AND ALSO BEGAN JERKING ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AS THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER RESPOND TO THE CONTACT'S ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,900.
THE PAINT STARTED PEELING AROUND THE BEGINNING OF 2012. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AFFECTING ALMOST 100% OF THE BODY OF THE CAR AND HAS REDUCED ITS VALUE DRASTICALLY.
THE CONSULT CIRCUIT BOARD THAT LIGHTS UP WHERE TO FIND THE DEFROSTER, HEATER, STEREO, AC IS TOTALLY DARK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I MUST TURN ON A LIGHT TO SEE THE CONTROLS AND I FEEL THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR ALL HONDA'S SINCE I HAVE READ ON LINE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY HONDA THAT THEY WOULD FIX IT FREE (POSSIBLE) IF YOU GET YOUR CAR THERE BEFORE 7YRS OR 100,000 MILES BUT THEY KEEP THAT VERY QUIET. I WAS SO BUSY PAYING TO KEEP MY HOME AND HONDA NEVER SENT ME ANY WORD ON THIS AND PROBLEM. *TR
I OWN A 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 COUPE AND THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING IN 2ND GEAR. I WAS TRAVELING UP A HILL AND IT FAILED AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER SO I WOULD NOT GET REAR ENDED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION, WHICH COSTS $4,000-$5,000. IN A RECENT JANUARY 11, 2011 ARTICLE PUBLISHED BY THE NY TIMES BY [XXX], TITLED "HONDA TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SEEM TO PERSIST", A RECALL FROM 2004 IS OUTLINED WHICH INVOLVES 2003-2004 HONDA ACCORD V6 TRANSMISSIONS. THE ARTICLE ALSO STATES "THE N.H.T.S.A. WEB SITE HAS SOME 570 TRANSMISSION COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS OF 2003-4 ACCORDS. MANY REFER TO PROBLEMS WITH SECOND GEAR". I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE MY SPECIFIC CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL? I AM LIVID. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR IS ILLUMINATED SPONTANEOUSLY REGARDLESS IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR AT START-UP AND WHETHER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED OR UNOCCUPIED. THE RECALL 07V001000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE) DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. *TR
THE CAR BEGAN DRIVING ROUGH IN CITY DRIVING, GRADUALLY BECOMING WORSE. NOW IT SHUDDERS AND RATTLES AT 30-40 MPH. SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALER ULTIMATELY RESULTING IN DIAGNOSIS OF TRANSMISSION/TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE. FORTUNATELY IT DIDN'T JUST CUT OUT AT A DANGEROUS TIME. REPLACEMENT COST IS NEARLY THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
ON DECEMBER 30, 2011 THE BACK-LIGHT ON MY RADIO STEREO AS WELL AS THE A/C PANEL WENT OUT. THIS POSES A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE 1. DURING STORMS OR BAD WEATHER, I CANNOT SEE WHAT STATION TO TURN THE RADIO FOR TORNADO WARNINGS OR WEATHER UPDATES. 2. TO ADJUST A/C OR HEATER SETTINGS, I MUST TAKE MY FOCUS OFF THE ROAD TO TURN ON THE OVERHEAD LIGHT AND ADJUST SETTINGS. 3. IN WEATHER CONDITIONS SUCH AS HIGH FOG OR WHERE YOU NEED TO USE A DEFROST, I MUST MUST TAKE MY FOCUS OFF THE ROAD TO TURN ON THE OVERHEAD LIGHT AND ADJUST SETTINGS. *TT

THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, HE FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD HAD BEEN LEFT PARKED OVERNIGHT ON OUR DRIVEWAY. AT ABOUT 10:30 IN THE MORNING THE NEXT DAY,12/18/11, I GOT INTO THE CAR, AND WITH MY DOOR STILL WIDE OPEN AND THE CAR IN "PARK", I TURNED ON THE IGNITION AND STARTED THE MOTOR FOR A 2 OR 3 MINUTE WARM-UP. I WAS ON THE DRIVER SEAT AND MY WIFE ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WITH HER DOOR ALSO WIDE OPEN. I WAS TALKING TO MY WIFE WITH MY FACE TURNED TOWARDS HER WHILE THE CAR WARMED UP. AFTER ABOUT TWO MINUTES, I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR AND PULLED OUT THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH TO HAND IT TO MY WIFE STILL FACING HER WITH MY LEFT SIDE TOWARDS THE STEERING WHEEL. OUR HOUSE KEY AND THE CAR KEY WERE ON THE SAME KEY CHAIN AND I WAS HANDING IT TO MY WIFE TO LOCK THE FRONT DOOR OF THE HOUSE. RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT, THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG VIOLENTLY EXPLODED WITH FULL FORCE AND WITH A VERY LOUD BANG WHIPPING MY FACE AND MY LEFT EAR. WHATEVER I HAD IN MY HANDS (MY WALLET, A CD AND THE CAR KEYS) WERE ALL BLOWN AWAY AND LANDED OUTSIDE THE CAR AND I WAS COMPLETELY DEAFENED AND DISORIENTED BY THE BLOW AND THE LOUD EXPLOSION. FOR THE NEXT TWO HOURS OR SO, I WAS HURTING IN MY LEFT EAR AND WAS UNABLE TO HEAR ANYTHING WITH THAT EAR. ITS BEEN MORE THAN 24 HOURS SINCE THAT INCIDENT AND MY EAR THOUGH NOT HURTING AS MUCH, STILL HAS SOME RINGING. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY BUT AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR HANDLING OF THIS SITUATION. THEY WANT ME TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT CHECKED ALL AT MY EXPENSE. THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR ANY EXPENSES WHATSOEVER THAT I MAY INCUR WITH REGARDS TO THIS INCIDENT INCLUDING MEDICAL CHECK-UP. AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, THEY CLAIM THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND AS SUCH THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS. I AM LIKE OTHER HONDA OWNERS WHOSE CAR FAILED THEM. MY TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT RIGHT AFTER THE 100,000 MILE MARK. THE SRS LIGHT OF MY 04 HONDA ACCORD HAS BEEN ON SINCE LATE 2011. SINCE IT'S A LONG DRIVE, I ADJUSTED THE POSITION OF MY DRIVER'S SEAT TO MAKE MYSELF COMFORTABLE. SOMEHOW, THE SRS LIGHT STARTED TO TURN ON AND IT HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE, INDICATING THE AIRBAG MIGHT BE DEACTIVATED. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND REALIZED IT'S A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE RELATED TO DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR HARNESS. HONDA ANNOUNCED A SAFETY RECALL BACK IN JANUARY 2007 TO FIX THIS ISSUE FOR SOME VEHICLES OF CERTAIN MODELS. THE MODEL I HAVE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT NOT THE PARTICULAR VEHICLE I HAVE. I CONTACTED HONDA FOR EXPLANATION AND THEY INSISTED IT BE MY OWN RESPONSIBILITY TO GET THIS DIAGNOSED AND FIXED. MANY HONDA OWNERS INCLUDING MYSELF JUST NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICE THAT WE THINK WE DESERVE. THE HONDA OWNER MANUAL RECOMMENDED THE 1ST SPARK PLUG CHANGE AT 100,000 MILES. WHEN TOW THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP, THE SHOP DISCOVER THAT THE ONE OF THE SPARK PLUG WAS NOT PROPERLY TORQUED AT THE FACTOR AND CAUSE THE SPARK PLUG THREAD IN FATIGUE AND BELOW THE PLUG OUT OF CYLINDER HEAD. DRIVING IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DISENGAGED AND PRESSING/RELEASING THE THROTTLE CAUSED THE ENGINE TO REV FREELY, AS IF THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN PLACED INTO NEUTRAL. ONCE THE CAR SLOWED DOWN (COASTED) TO ABOUT 20 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION RE-ENGAGED SOMEWHAT, AND GENTLY DEPRESSING THE THROTTLE ALLOWED ME TO SLOWLY ACCELERATE TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC (ABOUT 40 MPH). WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD, IT APPEARED TO SLIP QUITE A BIT--THE TACHOMETER RANGED BETWEEN 1900 RPM AND 2600 RPM UNTIL 3RD GEAR ENGAGED. THE TRANSMISSION NOW REFUSES TO GO INTO OVERDRIVE (5TH GEAR), AND THE TRANSMISSION IS CONTINUING TO SLIP, BOTH WHILE SHIFTING GEARS, AS WELL AS WHEN DRIVING AT A STEADY RATE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP, AND THEY QUOTED $4452.00 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A HONDA REMANUFACTURED UNIT. AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE IS DIM OR DARK: THE AUDIO DISPLAY AND CONTROLS (KNOBS, BUTTONS, BARS) OF THE AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE ARE DIM OR ARE DARK. THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE HONDA ACCORDS 2003-2007 WHERE ONE OF THE COMPONENTS OF THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ( PCB) WHICH CONTROLS THE CENTER AUDIO CONSOLE FAILS AND THEN THE WHOLE AUDIO CONSOLE GOES DARK. SO WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR, YOU CANNOT SEE ANY BUTTON OR KNOB ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE HEAT / COOL , THE FAN SPEED OR ANY FUNCTION THAT IS CONTROLLED BY THE COUNTER CONSOLE. HONDA INITIALLY SENT OUT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE AUDIO CONSOLE TO 7 YEARS /100, 000 MILES. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS IN A LARGE NUMBER OF CARS. THIS IS NOT LIKE A TRANSMISSION OR A BRAKE ISSUE WHICH CAN WEAR DOWN OVER A NUMBER OF YEARS. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONICS ON THE CAR AND SHOULD BE ESCALATED TO A RECALL. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AS THE CONSOLE LIGHTING DOES COMPLETELY DARK AND THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE OR LOCATE ANY CONTROLS WITHIN THE CAR. THIS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. HONDA HAS ISSUES A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 04-027. THIS BULLETIN IN THE PROOF THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT HONDA HAS OFFERED IS OF NO USE BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ARE OUT OF THE WARRANTY TERMS ( 7 YEARS // 100,000 MILES) THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM AND THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY INSTITUTE SHOULD FORCE HONDA TO REPAIR THIS COMPONENT IN THE CAR IRRESPECTIVE OF THE MILES OR THE NUMBER OF YEARS.
