TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SIX MONTHS, HIS LEGS WOULD BECOME NUMB AND HE FELT PAIN WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT BOUGHT A THERAPEUTIC PILLOW FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT, WHICH RESOLVED THE PAIN. HE ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO TINT ON THE WINDSHIELD TO BLOCK THE SUNLIGHT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 36,000.
DURING A 35 MPH REAR END COLLISION, THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT GAVE SLACK AND DID NOT RETRACT/LOCK. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED INJURIES. EVOQ FILED BY: JANICE LEVSEN. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.*JB
ON 4 INSTANCES I HAVE BEEN IN MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD WHERE IT HAS SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND THE RPM'S WILL JUMP UP AND THEN DOWN, EVEN WITH MY FOOT OFF THE GAS. THE CAR HAS ALSO BEEN IN PARK AND THE RPMS INCREASED TO ABOVE 4. TWICE AT A STOPLIGHT THE CAR WAS REVVING UP AND I WAS PRESSING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET TO KEEP IT STOPPED. IN ALL INSTANCES, TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTING FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD IT TOTALLY CHECKED OUT BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR
BOUGHT MY CAR IN LATE JULY 2004 AND WITHIN DAYS IT DEVELOPED A TICKING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN. IT HAS BEEN TO SERVICE AND THEY TELL ME IT WAS THE KEYS RATTLING. IT IS INDEED THE STEERING COLUMN BECAUSE IT DOES IT WITH THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION IF YOU BUMP THE STEERING WHEEL. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH THE REAR AND FRONT SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. CONSUMER HAS A POLICE REPORT OF THE ROAD CONDITIONS. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT WAS SPRING.*AK *NM
DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. *BF AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE A FEW HUNDRED MILES AFTER IT WAS PURCHASED, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE WINDSHIELD SEEMED TO BE DISTORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHO AGREED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. A NEW WINDSHIELD WAS INSTALLED AND THAT ONE WAS ALSO DISTORTED. IN TOTAL FIVE REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD WERE ORDERED BUT THEY ALL HAD THE SAME DEFECT. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO PROVIDED NOT FURTHGER ASSISTANCE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE EXTERIOR MIRROR WAS ALSO DISTORTED. *NM
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKES OBJECTS APPEAR DISTORTED. THE DEALERSHIP HAD ORDERED 4 WINDSHIELDS FROM THE FACTORY, ALL HAD THE SAME DISTORTION. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED NO FURTHER ACTION COULD BE TAKEN. THE CONSUMER WILL HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. *AK *SC
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH VEHICLE DROVE OVER SMALL DEBRIS IN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY. NO INJURIES REPORTED. *AK
BOUGHT A HONDA ACCORD 2004 V6 EX 3 WEEKS GO. ABOUT ONE WEEK AFTER I HAD THE CAR I NOTICED A HUMMING NOISE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. ROBERTSON HONDA IS JERKING ME AROUND TELLING ME THEY DON'T HEAR ONE. NOW I FIND OUT FROM YOUR WEB SITE THERE IS A TSB ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE WITH AT LEAST ONE COMPLAINT FROM THE PRIOR YEAR WITH THE SAME ISSUE. LAST HONDA CAR I BUY.*AK

ON JULY 6TH, 2004, I TOOK POSSESSION OF OUR NEW 2004 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN WITH 132 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I SCHEDULED TO HAVE HONDA ACCESSORIES INSTALLED BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP ON JULY 15TH-16TH, AND PICKED UP MY VEHICLE ON JULY 17TH.*AK UPON PICKING UP THE VEHICLE (369 MILES ON ODOMETER) THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT WOULD NOT RETRACT. THE SEATBELT WAS COMPLETELY PULLED OUT AND STILL WOULD NOT RETRACT. IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL HOURS, BUT THEY MANAGED TO REPLACE THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT WHICH HAD FAILED. THE REPLACEMENT UNIT RETRACTS VERY SLOWLY AND HAS TO BE MANUALLY MANEUVERED INTO PLACE. WILL NEED TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. IN ADDITION TO THIS MAJOR SAFETY INCIDENT, THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE GAUGE HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND NO LONGER READS THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE.
VEHICLE STRUCK A CALL BOX AT AN IMPACT OF 60 MPH AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
REAR HEADLINER OF CAR BECAME DETACHED AND DROPPED 2-3 INCHES WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF PURCHASE.*AK
I WAS DRIVING ON 1995 EXPRESSWAY AT 65 MPH, WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED, I MANAGED TO COAST IT INTO A BREAKDOWN LANE. I CALLED THE POLICE THINKING I HAD A COMPUTER CHIP PROBLEM THAT HAPPENED TO A PREVIOUS HONDA. FINALLY NOTICED THAT THE RADIO WAS WORKING AND THERE HAD BEEN A KEY SYMBOL ON THE DASHBOARD BEFORE IT WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR UP AND THEN REALIZED THAT THE IGNITION KEY HAD SLIPPED FORWARD INTO THE OFF POSITION WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD NOT TOUCHED IT, NOTHING JARRED IT AND I CANNOT REPEAT IT BY HITTING OR LEANING ON THE OTHER ITEMS ON THE KEY CHAIN. I NOTICED THAT THE KEY HAS A LOT OF ROOM TO JIGGLE IN THE IGNIITION SWITCH. CHECKED YOUR NHTSA TO SEE SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH HONDA. VERY CONCERNED. HONDA WILL NOT SEE THE CAR UNTIL NEXT WEEK, THEY CLAIMED OF HEARING ABOUT IT IN OLDER CARS BUT NOT NEWER. *AK
I TOOK DELIVERY OF A 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX WITH LEATHER ON JUNE 25, 2004. ITS BEEN EXACTLY A WEEK. I HAVE DRIVEN ABOUT 580 MILES IN A WEEK. I HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS AND I DID'NT SEE ANY RECALLS ON THE MANUFACTURER'S WEBSITE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AFTER SPENDING $24000 ON A BRAND NEW CAR. *AK 1) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE 'D' LIGHT ON DRIVER SIDE DASHBAORD IS CONTINUALLY FLASHING. 2) I CAN HEAR SOME SLIDING NOISE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND VICE VERSA WHEN MAKING SHARP TURNS (HAPPENS ALL THE TIME). THE SOUNDS SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM UNDER THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT 3) AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 60 MILES IN ONE GO IN WARM WEATHER(TEMPERATURES IN 80S), I HEAR A RUBBING/SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS. BECOMES MORE AUDIBLE WHEN WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN. SOUNDS MORE LIKE TIRES RUBBING AGAINST THE BODY. 4) PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR IS SOAKING WET AND I ASSUME IT IS WATER. I CAN HEAR WATER SLOSHING SOUND UNDER THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WHEN MAKING TURNS.
COMPLAINT REGARING WINDOW TINTING. *MR *SC *JB
AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE THE CONSUMER SMELLED GAS. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THERE WAS A LEAK AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CHANGED THE BEARINGS, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *JB
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE SUSPENSION FELT FUNNY. THE FRONT WHEELS WANDERED. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SEVEN TIMES, AND EACH TIME DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM,AND STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG. FINALLY A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE HONDA WAS CALLED AND DROVE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH FRONT SUSPENSION. THERE WAS AT LEAST A 10% DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE AND ANOTHER OF THE SAME YEAR/MAKE, AND MODEL. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED TO CALL HIM, BUT AS OF YET HAD NOT DONE SO. THEN, WHEN CONSUMER DID GET IN TOUCH WITH THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE HE WAS OFFERED MUCH LESS FOR THE VEHICLE THAN WHAT HE PAID FOR IT. CONSUMER WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE WHEELS. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS HAS EIGHT CUTS AND GREASE OR GLUE STAINS ON THE INSIDE PANEL OF THE WINDOW. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES IMPEDE HER SIDE VISIBILITY. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDOW TINTING AND TOO MUCH LUBRICATION IN THE LOCK MECHANISM WERE THE CAUSE, ALSO THE WINDOW WAS IN TOO TIGHTLY, AND THE WINDOW STRIPS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SIX DIFFERENT TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. THE DEALER AND REGIONAL MANAGER INFORMED HER THAT SHE CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS, BUT THEY WOULD NO LONGER ASSIST. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES AVAILABLE AND RECORDS OF THE SIX TRIPS THAT WERE MADE TO THE DEALER. SHE ALSO STATED THAT HER VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 21 TIMES FOR VARIOUS FAILURES. THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED FOUR TIMES, THE TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED AND ALIGNED SIX DIFFERENT TIMES, AND THE TIRES WERE REPLACED DUE TO UNEVEN WEAR. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,157 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG GOES OFF WHENEVER THE PASSENGER'S DAUGHTER SITS IN THE SEAT. . THE MANUAL STATES 65 LBS IN THIS SEAT, BUT THE PASSENGER'S DAUGHTER WEIGHS 90 LBS. THE AIR BAG GOES OFF. DEALER STATES NOTHING IS WRONG. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE REAR ENDING THE MOTORIST IN FRONT OF THEM. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT A BODY SHOP, BUT WILL BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE BRAKES INSPECTED. *AK
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE THE CONSUMER HIT A CURB AND THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE BLEW OUT. THE TIRE SIDEWALL WAS RUPTURED EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT A VERY LOW SPEED. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE TIRE AND OFFERED TO PAY FOR FIFTY PERCENT OF THE DAMAGE. *AK *SC *JB
MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER POWER SEATS HAVE FORWARD MOVEMENT WHEN STOPPING. NOTICED THIS A FEW WEEKS AFTER BUYING THE CAR. THERE IS ABOUT A 1/2 INCH MOVEMENT IN THE SEATS.AT FIRST DEALER TRIED TO SAY THIS WAS NORMAL. DEALER HAS REPLACED SEAT RAILS ONE TIME,FIXED PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. PROBLEM RETURNED AND GOT WORSE. I SPOKE WITH DISTRICT REP HE TOLD DEALER TO REPLACE SEAT RAILS AGAIN. DEALER HAD CAR FOR 1 WEEK BUT DID NOT REPLACE RAILS. I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK TWO MORE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER REFUSES TO REPLACE SEAT, SAYS THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND IS WORKING ON A FIX. DEARLER ADDS THAT THIS FIX COULD TAKE UP TO 6 MO. TO A YEAR, JUST NOT SURE WHEN THEY WILL HAVE A FIX.. I AM AFFRAID IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT THESE SEATS COULD BREAK LOOSE. IN MY MIND THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.*AK
TAKATA RECALL: MY CAR WAS PURCHASED IN COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AND SPENT ITS FIRST ELEVEN YEARS IN AUSTIN, TEXAS WHERE THE HEAT AND MOISTURE WAS PREVALENT AS ALLEGED IN THE REPORTS OF CAUSES FOR FAILURES OF THE TAKATA AIRBAGS YET MY CAR IS NEVER LISTED IN THE RECALL LISTS. AND WITH THE RECENT URGINGS OF THE NHTSA FOR OLDER VEHICLES FROM THAT REGION BEING AMONG THOSE IN MOST URGENT NEED OF HAVING THE AIRBAGS REPLACED I AM CONSIDERING HAVING THEM REPLACED ANYWAY AT MY OWN EXPENSE. MY QUESTIONS ARE: WILL I BE REIMBURSED WHEN MY CAR IS FINALLY RECALLED AND WHY ISN'T MY CAR INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS?
PROBLEM WITH EXCESSIVE BRAKE GRABBING SINCE PURCHASE OF VEHICLE ON 05/29/2004. DISCUSSED WITH TAMERON HONDA SERVICE MANY TIMES SINCE PURCHASE AND IT SEEMS EVERONE (SALES AND SERVICE) KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM, BUT HONDA HAS NOT DONE SOMETHING TO CORRECT THE POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM.
I HAVE A 2004 EX V-6 ACCORD COUPE. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAD THE CAR FOR 1 WEEK IT HAD 175 MILES ON IT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ALL SIX PISTONS WERE MISFIRING. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN 3 TIMES NOW FOR EXCESSIVE NOISE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW. THE DEALERSHIP FIXED IT ONCE AND TOLD ME THAT SOME NOISE IS NORMAL.. (MY 76 HONDA CIVIC DOESN'T EVEN MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS THIS CAR DOES) THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND BLINKS AND GOES OFF HAS DONE THIS NUMEROUS TIMES. DEALERSHIP RESETS IT AND SAYS THAT IT IS OK. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE CAR IN 2 TIMES BECAUSE IT WON'T START. DEALERSHIP SAYS TO TURN KEY TO FIRST CLICK TO LET THE FUEL INJECTION LINES FILL WITH FUEL. IT DOESN'T WORK. I AM TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN TOMORROW BECAUSE THE TRUNK DOESN'T LATCH CORRECTLY.. WHAT A DISSAPPOINTMENT THIS CAR HAS BEEN AND ITS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD.. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA AGAIN. THE QUALITY HAS GONE SEVERELY DOWN HILL.*AK
(THE VEHICLE IS AT D-DRIVE GEAR) WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX-L FOR A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHEN THE SPEED METER WAS LOWER THAN 20 MPH SOMETHING FUNNY WITH ENGINE HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE ENGINE RPM JUMPED HIGH TO AROUND 2000 THEN STAYED AT AROUND 1300 EVEN THOUGH IT IS TOTALLY STOPPED. ENGINE WAS STILL DELIVERING EXTRA POWER AND MAKING NOISE LOUDER THAN IT SHOULD BE. I HAD TO STEP HARDER ON THE BRAKE IMMEDIATELY TO STOP THE CAR TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN THE FRONT. IT WONT HAPPEN OFTEN BUT HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED 3 TIMES (MAY 28TH, JUNE 16TH AND JUNE 18TH). *AK
NUMEROUS SQEAKS, RATTLES, AND VIBRATIONS IN DOOR PANELS, TOPS OF WINDOWS, REAR SHELF, AND IN B-PILLARS AROUND TOP SEAT BELT ANCHOR. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP 3 SEPARATE TIMES TO HAVE THESE FIXED. THEY ARE ABLE TO MAKE THEM GO AWAY FOR ABOUT A DAY, BUT THEN THEY ALL COME BACK. THE LAST TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN, THEY SAID THEY HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY CAN AND THAT THESE WERE "NORMAL" SOUNDS THAT THE CAR MAKES. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR WITH SO MANY RATTLES AND SQUEAKS. POOR BUILD QUALITY AND CONSTRUCTION. THEY ALL STARTED ABOUT 4 DAYS AFTER I PICKED UP THE CAR AND HAD ABOUT 300 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. HAD PROBLEMS EVER SINCE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AT 40 MPH AND VEHICLE'S AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*MR THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT DIP ENOUGH AND THAT'S WHY THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER FEEL THIS IS A POOR EXPLANATION AND BELIEVES THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. *NM
POSSIBLE SAFETY HAZARD WITH 2004 HONDA ACCORD. (NAR) *MR WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT NIGHT WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, AS THE CONSUMER APPROACHED THE OFF RAMP, HE ATTEMPTED TO DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL BY PRESSING WHAT THE CONSUMER THOUGHT WAS THE CANCEL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL BUT WAS UNABLE TO VIEW THE THREE BUTTON THAT WAS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL AND ACCIDENTALLY PRESSED THE (RES/ACCEL) BUTTON AND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO SPEED UP. THE CONSUMER FELT THAT HONDA SHOULD ADD ILLUMINATION TO THE THREE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL THAT ACTIVATE AND DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL. *SC *JB *CB
I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX-L NAVI SEDAN AND WENT TO GET GAS. AS I FINISHED PUMPING THE GAS AND WENT TO START THE CAR THE CAR WOULD NOT START. PURCHASED CAR WITH 10 MILES ON IT. FAILED TO START UPON LEAVING DEALERSHIP. APPARENTLY LOOSE WIRE. SALESMAN WIGGLED WITH CABLE AND CAR STARTED. EVERY DAY SINCE THE PURCHASE OF CAR, I WOULD HAVE A FALSE START REQUIRING A SECOND OR EVEN THIRD TRY TO START THE CAR. 25 DAYS LATER, 1200 MILES LATER, THE CAR DIED AND WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALER. APPARENTLY, THE BATTERY WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY AND ALL CABLES SURROUNDING THE BATTERY WAS LOOSE AND THE HEADLAMP COVER WAS LOOSE ALSO. THERE IS CLUNK NOISE WHEN YOU INITIALLY PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS NORMAL NOISE. THERE IS A METALLIC RUB WHEN DEPRESSING ON THE BRAKE AND THERE IS LOUD BRAKE NOISE ALSO. DEALER SAID THIS WAS NORMAL ALSO, BUT I'M NOT SO SURE OF THIS. *LA
CAR HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON 4/11/11. ON 4/23/11 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY, THE ACCELERATOR BOGGED OUT AND I LOST POWER. I WAS SCARED I WAS GOING TO GET HIT BY THE CAR IN THE OTHER LANE... THEN THE CAR SEEMED TO RUN FINE UNTIL I ATTEMPTED TO PASS A CAR GOING UP A STEEP HILL AND THE CAR LOST POWER AGAIN, THEN IT SEEMED TO DRIVE FINE UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MONDAY ON THE WAY TAKING THE KIDS TO SCHOOL IT JUST STARTED FAILING WHILE NORMALLY DRIVING. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, THAT TC CLUTCH STUCK OFF. FLUID HAS CLUTCH RESIDUE AND IS BURNED VERY DARK , WILL NEED TRANS ASSY TO RECTIFY".WHEN 15 DAYS EARLIER IT WAS FINE ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS. NOTHING HAS BEE DONE THEY WANT $5000 TO FIX IT. WHEN PARKING THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT, AS I WAS TURNING INTO THE PARKING SPACE THE CAR JUMPED (WENT VERY FAST FORWARD AND HIT THE WALL IN FRONT OF ME) EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES I FELT I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF ON IT'S OWN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS ENGAGED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. HE FELT THAT THE BYPASS VALVE ON THE ABS MODULATOR CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DEALER RE-INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE ABS MODULATOR. APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. AS OF AUGUST 7, 2007, THE DEALER HAS NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,500. UPDATED 01-15-08. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED 2 ABS MODULATORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND 2 MASTER CYLINDERS REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE STARTED WITH A SOFT BRAKE PEDAL AND OVER TIME IT BECAME WORSE. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL HARD TO ONE SIDE AND/OR THE ABS MODULATOR WOULD ACTIVATE WHEN BRAKING POWER WAS ESTABLISHED. UPDATED 12/12/07

MY CAR WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE BUMPER ANYWHERE BETWEEN 40-50 MPH. THE POLICE REPORT IS STILL PENDING TO STATE THE APPX SPEED. MY CAR CRUMBLED, THE BUMPER TOTALED, AND THE HOOD ROLLED UP. ON 2/17/04, I WAS TURNING LEFT TO GET OUT OF A PARKING LOT. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP, I HEARD A LOUD POPPING NOISE AND THEN IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING FELL OFF OF THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP SAID NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND, THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE. 263 MILES ON IT. ON 5/21/04 I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD AND I NOTICED A LOT OF RED BRAKE LIGHTS IN FRONT OF ME, I HUNG BACK ABOUT FOUR CAR LENGTHS, AND AS I GOT TO ABOUT THREE CAR LENGTHS I KNEW I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO STOP SO I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP, I LITERALLY HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKE PETAL WITH TWO FEET, AND PULLED ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME, THE CAR KEPT ON MOVING FORWARD, THE CAR MADE A VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE; AND FINALLY THE CAR STOPPED INCHES AWAY FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I INCHED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO GET THE CAR RIGHT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP. I DROVE THERE ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR WITH MY 4 WAY FLASHERS ON ALL THE WAY. THEY SUPPOSEDLY ROAD TESTED THE CAR FOR BRAKE NOISE AND CHECKED LINING, THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE, THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I WAS VERY NERVOUS BUT HAD TO GO TO THE DOCTORS, SO I CAREFULLY DROVE THE CAR DOWN THE SAME ROAD AND HAD TO STOP AGAIN, I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE NOISE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP HAPPENED AGAIN, I SWERVED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I STOPPED THE CAR AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK, MILEAGE 1741 MILES, ANOTHER TRIP WITH THE FLASHERS ON AT 10 MILES AN HOUR, THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A RENTAL CAR, MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP, SOME AREA REPRESENTATIVE IS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME, I CALLED TODAY 5/26/04 AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY ANSWERS. MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A NEAR ACCIDENT WITH A SEMI-TRUCK ON A FREEWAY DUE TO POWER TRAIN FAILURE. DURING A LANE CHANGE THE CAR'S POWER AND ACCELERATION COMPLETELY STOPPED PERFORMING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. SHE NOTICED THE TACHOMETER INDICATOR REVVING VERY HIGH BUT NO POWER WAS TRANSFERRING TO THE ENGINE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. IT DID "KICK" BACK INTO GEAR IN JUST ENOUGH TIME TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH A SEMI-TRUCK THAT WAS FAST APPROACHING FROM BEHIND. AFTER MISSING HER INTENDED EXIT SHE TOOK THE NEXT ONE AND REALIZED SHE WAS ONLY ABOUT A MILE FROM THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER THAT WE HAVE ALWAYS USED. THIS WAS ON A SATURDAY, SO TO CONFIRM THE PROBLEM WE WAITED UNTIL THE NEXT MONDAY TO GET THE NEWS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR $4,100. RESEARCH ON THE CAR SHOWED 2 FULL TRANSMISSION FLUSHES (~37K & 61K) BECAUSE OF CONTAMINATED FLUID. OUR OWNER'S MANUAL RECOMMENDS THE FIRST SERVICE BE PERFORMED AT 120,000 MILES. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS CAR HAD ANY CORRECTIONS MADE ON THE INITIAL RECALL CUSTOMER LETTER FROM THE SUMMER OF 2004. IF IT HAD, THEN THERE WOULD BE NO REASON FOR THE TWO TRANSMISSION TOTAL FLUSHES AND TOTAL FAILURE AT 85,383 MILES. THE HONDA SERVICE DEPT. WOULD NOT NEGOTIATE BASED ON PREVIOUS HISTORY SO ON 02/25/2004 I WROTE A LETTER TO AMERICAN MOTOR HONDA COMPANY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. STATING THE FACTS AND REQUESTING A REPLY. I DID RECEIVE A LETTER ON 03/20/2004 REQUESTING THAT I CALL A CERTAIN NUMBER WITHIN 10 DAYS (ACTUALLY 2 WORK DAYS) OTHERWISE THEY WILL CONSIDER THE MATTER CLOSED. THE LETTER WAS DATED 03/14/2004. I COULD ONLY REACH A VOICE MESSAGE FROM THE PERSON WHO WOULD NOT RETURN MY REPEATED CALLS. HONDA WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR NEGLECTED AND INFERIOR WORK. IN EFFECT THIS WHOLE MATTER REDUCES THE VALUE OF OUR CAR BY MORE THAN $4,100. MORE IMPORTANT, THEY PLACED MY WIFE IN UNNECESSARY DANGER ON THE FREEWAY! PLEASE OPEN AN INVESTIGATION.

MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 OCCASIONALLY HAS ISSUES STARTING. MY HONDA ONLY HAS 1600 MILES ON IT. IT ACTS AS IF IT'S FLOODED; EVERYTIME I'VE HAD TO REMOVE THE KEY AND TRY AGAIN. EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT (AUTOMATIC SEATS) MOVING IN A SUDDEN STOP. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SEAT TRACK WHICH SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED. THE PAST TWO TIMES I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE I MENTIONED THE SEAT FEELS LOOSE AGAIN BUT THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT AND HAVE DONE NOTHING FURTHER TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN IN AN ACCIDENT.
