DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON UNEXPECTED..(SOMETIME ON, SOMETIME OFF). *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, HE SWERVED AND CRASHED INTO A DITCH IN ORDER TO AVOID A CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO WAS MERGING INTO HIS LANE. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO FOUR TREES BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,564. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAUSED BY TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW FAILED TO OPEN OR CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE FAILURE WAS LOCATED WITHIN THE MOTOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR TO PREVENT THE DRIVERS SIDE SWITCH FROM FAILING TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V260000 (VISIBILITY). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO DRIVE INDEPENDENTLY, CRASHING INTO A PARKED, UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO PERSONAL INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR EXTERIOR BODY DAMAGE REPAIRS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, GREY SMOKE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR WARNING LAMP WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN AND THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BUT THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. APPEARING ALMOST AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. I CHECKED THE SHIFTER TO MAKE SURE I WAS STILL IN DRIVE WHICH IT WAS. TRIED TO SHIFT THE GEAR TO D3 AND D2 HOWEVER THERE WAS NO CHANGE. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WAS REDUCED TO ABOUT 30 - 35MPH WHEN I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED AS IT WAS DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHERE A STATE TROOPER STOPPED TO SEE IF EVERYTHING WAS OK. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK WHILE SPEAKING WITH THE TROOPER. I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE TO TRY AND GET BACK ONTO THE ROAD HOWEVER THE VEHICLE DID NOT ENGAGE AND WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND IT JERKED BACKWARDS. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY RESTARTED IT. I WAS ABLE TO PLACE IT IN DRIVE AND GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY UNTIL I REACHED 60MPH AND THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. I AGAIN PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE, RESTARTED IT AND WOULD CONTINUE FOR A FEW MILES UNTIL THE VEHICLE ACTED UP AGAIN. I HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS ABOUT 4 TIMES UNTIL I GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE NOW SITS. IT APPEARED THAT THIS WASN'T A PROBLEM WHILE I STAYED UNDER 60MPH AS WHEN I HIT LOCAL ROADS AND THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 30MPH THE CAR DID NOT ACT UP. *TR
I HAVE NOTICED THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON, TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CODE IS 61-10. THEY WOULD ORDER THE SEAT BELT PART (SPECIAL ORDER). I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT SEAT BELTS WOULD BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. DEALERS TOLD ME "IT'S ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THE SEAT BELT, NOT MECHANICAL" AND HONDA DOES NOT COVER THIS EVEN THE LANGUAGE IN THE WARRANTY DOES NOT EXPRESS THIS AT ALL. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED HOW HONDA WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY. WONDERING HOW THEY RECEIVED HIGH MARKS FOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS. THE ONLY RECOURSE I HAVE IS SPEND THE $260.00 AND NEVER, NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA AGAIN ! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE CONSUMER HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V700000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,247. I HAD A SUDDEN FALLEN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND LOOSE SPEED DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT PUTTING IN THE GEARS IT GOT OVER HEATED FAST AND I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND HAD A STRANGER HELP ME PUSH IT TO THE SIDE AND AAA TOWED IT TO MY HOME THEN THE NEXT MORNING TOWED IT TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER SAID I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AFTER READING COMMENTS ON MOTOR TREND.COM HONDA FAILED TO SEND ME A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION. THE 2004 ACCORDV6 OBVIOUSLY HAVE TRANSMISSION DEFECTS AND I WANT MY TRANSMISSION PAID FOR FROM HONDA IM REALLY UPSET AND HONDA CORP. NEEDS TO PAY FOR THIS. *TR

MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD EX V6 HAS TRACTION CONTROL. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TC LIGHT CAME ON AND PUSHING THE SWITCH IT WILL NOT GO OUT. WHEN YOU START UP THE CAR THE ORANGE TRIANGLE STAYS LIT AND THEN WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE TC COMES ON AND STAYS ON. BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE PUT IT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE HONDA CODE. I CALLED A HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY "RELEASE" THE CODE INFORMATION AND I HAVE TO BRING IT INTO A HONDA DEALER AT $186 FOR THE FIRST HOUR JUST TO RUN A TEST!!! THE CAR DOES NOT EVEN MOVE IN THE SNOW HERE IN THE NORTHEAST WITHOUT THE TC. I HEARD THAT THE HONDA ACCORD WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. *TR
2004 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE RECALL. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE HONDA SERVICE ADVISOR CONFIRMED WITH HIM, THAT A LEAK IN THE POWER STEERING HOSE COULD CAUSE A FAILURE IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP DUE TO REDUCED POWER STEERING FLUID. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WOULD SEEM TO HIM, THAT REPLACING A HOSE AND O-RING ON VEHICLES THAT HAVE ALREADY HAD THE HOSE FAIL WAS NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN ITS ENTIRETY. THE HOSE ON THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS CONFIRMED TO HAVE FAILED AND IT CAUSED THE POWER STEERING PUMP TO FAIL.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF ONLINE POSTS REGARDING THE SRS LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY COMING ON IN HONDA VEHICLES. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR INSIDE THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE. CONSIDERING THE MAGNITUDE OF REPORTS, THERE SHOULD'VE BEEN A RECALLED ISSUED. ALTHOUGH THE NEW CAR WARRANTY BOOKLET CLEARLY STATES ON PAGE 31 THAT THERE IS LIFETIME COVERAGE OF ANY SEAT BELT COMPONENT "THAT FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING NORMAL USE," HONDA HAS REFUSED TO HONOR IT PER CONVERSATION W/[XXX] @ 800-999-1009 ON 1/23/13 @ APPROXIMATELY 9:05AM ET. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR JERKED WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE OR BRAKE. I WAS ABLE TO STEER IT OFF ONTO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL ARTICLES ONLINE AND MECHANIC AT THE SHOP I TOOK IT TOO, 2004 HONDA ACCORDS ARE KNOWN FOR HAVING WEAK TRANSMISSIONS. IT WAS SO UNEXPECTED AND I TAKE CAR OF MY CAR. I FELT COMPLETELY UNSAFE TRYING TO GET IT OFF THE INTERSTATE GOING 20 MILES AN HOUR AS IT JERKED ALONG AND APPARENTLY PEOPLE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE?? I HAVE JUST HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR NOW AND BOUGHT IT FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP. NOT A WORD WAS SAID TO ME ABOUT THE ISSUES WITH THESE MODELS OR SAFETY RECALLS FOR SEVERAL HONDA MODELS MADE IN 2004 - BUT APPARENTLY NOT MINE. *TR

TAKATA RECALL NHTSA LISTS THE VEHICLE AS SUBJECT TO THE HONDA RECALL. HONDA CURRENTLY DOES NOT LIST THE VEHICLE AS SUBJECT TO THE RECALL. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN SOUTH FLORIDA, ALWAYS DRIVEN IN FLORIDA. THE SRS LIGHT IS CONTINUOUSLY ACTIVATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS USED. LOCAL HONDA DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HAS FAILED TO ACT. HONDA DEALER HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM NOTED ON THE VEHICLE'S SERVICE RECORD AS "PRIMARY ITEM CONCERN" IN JANUARY, 2013.
THE EXTERIOR PAINT OF ENTIRE CARE IS PEELING AS IT HAS BEEN REPORTED MANY TIMES. HONDA USED VERY POOR PAINT QUALITY.
AS I AM DRIVING MY VEHICLE GETS STUCK AT 20 MPH AND THE RPMS GO HIGH (ABOVE 3,000-4,000). THEN THE RPMS EVENTUALLY GO BACK DOWN AND THE VEHICLE SPEEDS UP. I HAVE 2 BOYS, A 2 YEAR OLD AND A 5 YEAR OLD ALONG WITH MY WIFE. I AM FEARFUL FOR THEIR SAFETY. I RESEARCHED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN REGARDS TO THE TRANSMISSION OVER HEATING AT 2ND GEAR FROM LACK OF LUBRICATION BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL, OR AT LEAST MY DEALERSHIP DID NOT RECEIVE A RECALL NOTICE. I AM NOT IN THE BEST FINANCIAL SITUATION TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION SERVICED, BUT I HAVE KEPT UP WITH ALL OF THE VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INCLUDING THE TIMING BELT, WATER PUMP SEALS BELTS ETC WHICH WERE REPLACED NOT TOO LONG AGO. I WAS HOPING THAT THE NHTSA COULD ASSIST ME WITH THIS URGENT MATTER. *TR
MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD HAD AN ENGINE FIRE CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE. THE HOSE SPRUNG A LEAK, SPRAYING POWER STEERING FLUID ONTO THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUGHT FIRE. THIS DEFECT IS ALREADY THE SUBJECT OF NHTSA RECALL 12V-222, BUT INACTIVITY AND FOOT-DRAGGING ON HONDA'S PART HAS CAUSED THIS OTHERWISE AVOIDABLE SAFETY INCIDENT. *TR
TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY STARTED SLIPPING BADLY AT 115K MILES. THE TRANSMISSION WAS ALWAYS SLOW TO GET INTO INITIAL GEAR TO BEGIN WITH BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL. AT NEAR HIGHWAY SPEEDS MY RPM'S SHOT UP BUT THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION JUST SLIPPING, IT ALSO DOWN SHIFTED WIT HA JERK. A NOTORIOUS ISSUE WITH THESE YEARS OF HONDA'S! "WORKING" NOW WITH AMERICAN HONDA AND HOPING FOR A HELPING HAND AS I'M JUST OUT OF THE CERTIFIED WARRANTY. HONDA DEALER QUOTED $6,040 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REBUILT. I BOUGHT A HONDA TO HAVE IT LAST, IS 6K WORTH PUTTING INTO A CAR WORTH $9,000 IN GREAT CONDITION? PLEASE HELP HONDA!!!!
VEHICLE AIR CONDITIONER DRAIN HOSE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED BY FACTORY, CAUSING EXCESSIVE WATER BUILD UP IN A/C RESERVOIR. WATER DRAINED ONTO VEHICLE ECU, CAUSING CORROSION. ENGINE STARTED RUNNING POORLY, FOLLOWED BY FAILURE OF ECU TO RECOGNIZE VALID KEYS. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED. PROBLEM COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSE STALLING IN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. INTERNET SEARCHES SHOW THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM DUE TO THE DESIGN AND PLACEMENT OF THE AC UNIT DIRECTLY OVER THE UNPROTECTED ECU. *TR
ON DECEMBER 10TH, 2012, TRANSMISSION FAILED COMPLETELY WHILE COMMUTING TO WORK ON MN 95. BARELY AVOIDED COLLISION REACHING SAFE SHOULDER AREA (WINTER CONDITIONS). INJURED BACK PUSHING VEHICLE OUT OF WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TRANSMISSION BEGAN WHINING UPON COLD START AND SLOW IN SHIFTING AT APPROXIMATELY 125,000. ATTEMPTED DIAGNOSIS AT HONDA DEALERSHIP - FAILING TRANSMISSION. WAS TOLD TO CONTACT HONDA AMERICA REGARDING 2004 RECALL AND 2006 SETTLEMENT. NO RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE FROM HONDA AMERICA. LOCAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED SLIGHT SLIPPING IN 3RD AND 4TH GEARS, EVEN WHEN WARMED UP. LOOKED UP TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING 2004 RECALL REPAIRS UTILIZING JET PACK TO INCREASE TRANSMISSION FLUID FLOW (AND PRESSURE?). CALLED HONDA AMERICA AND WAS TOLD VIN INDICATED THE PROBLEM HAD ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED DURING VEHICLE MANUFACTURE (2ND HALF OF 2004) AND RECALL FOR JET PACK WAS NOT NEEDED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION INSTALLED. COST - $4,000 PLUS LOST WORK. DESPITE 2004 RECALL, 2006 SETTLEMENT AND EXTENDED WARRANTY (7YR/100K), HONDA AMERICA REFUSES TO ASSIST. HAVE OWNED 6 HONDAS SINCE 2000 (1998 ACCORD, 2000 CIVIC, 2001 ACCORD, 2003 ODYSSEY, 2004 ACCORD AND THIS 2004 ACCORD). WILL NOW SELL MY REPAIRED 2004 ACCORD AND MY 2003 ODYSSEY FAST BEFORE ITS TRANSMISSION FAILS AND WILL HAVE TO SEEK ANOTHER COMPANY THAT ACTUALLY STANDS BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN COLDER WEATHER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

THE CAR INITIALLY WOULD STICK WITH A BRIEF PAUSE WHEN SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO FORWARD. SEVERAL DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO SLOW BETWEEN 30-40 MILES AN HOUR. IN ORDER TO GET HOME WE HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND THEN RESTART AND COAST. IN AN EFFORT TO TRANSPORT TO OUR MECHANIC THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN REVERSE AND WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE SO WE HAD TO TOW IT IN NEUTRAL TO THE SHOP. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO VERIFY HOW THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS BLACK AND SMELLED BURNT. HIS PROGNOSIS WAS THAT I WILL NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. WITHIN THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS I HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP BECAUSE OF ENGINE NOISE. IT WAS THOUGHT TO BE THE TRANSMISSION AND FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS REVEALED THE IDLER TENSIONER PULLEYS HAD TO BE REPLACED. AT THE TIME COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS REVEALED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE FLUID WAS FINE AS WELL. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION (AUTOMATIC, V6 ACCORD) KEPT SLIPPING SO ALTHOUGH I WAS APPLYING THE GAS THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN AND NOT MOVING. SO I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND IT WOULD MOVE AGAIN FOR A LITTLE BUT AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP AGAIN AND I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. I THEN HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE TRANSMISSION SHOW REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, SO PARTS AND LABOR CAME OUT TO $1750.00. *TR
URGENT - SAFETY ISSUES RECENTLY MY AIR BAG LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE AND IT WILL STAY ON UNTIL I TURN OFF THE ENGINE . THIS SEEM TO BE HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY BUT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. FURTHER SEARCH ON THE WEB THIS SEEM TO BE A COMMON PROBLEMS FOR 2004 HONDA ACCORD, BELOW ARE STEPS THAT I HAD TRIED. 1/ IF THE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THE ENGINE START, TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND START AGAIN SOMETIMES THE LIGHT GOES OFF SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT. 2/ IF THE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN THE ENGINE START, TURN OFF THE ENGINE THEN BUCKLE THE SEATBELT AND START, THIS SEEM TO TURN OFF THE AIRBAG LIGHT. 3/ WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING WHILE IN PART, UN-BUCKLE THE SEATBELT SOMETIMES THE AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON BUT NOT THE SEATBELT LIGHT. OTHER TIME SEATBELT LIGHT ON AND AIRBAG LIGHT OFF ( I THINK THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE) SEARCHING THROUGH NHTSA WEBSITE I FOUND ONE REALLY THAT MIGHT RELATED TO THIS ON 2007 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 07V001000) AIRBAG FRONTAL SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY RECALL. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH THIS.I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HONDA APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO...FOR POWER STEERING HOSE TO BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE DUE TO IT OVER HEATING AND DETERIORATING CAUSING A LEAK OF POWER STEERING FLUID. ONCE I GOT THE NOTICE I WENT TO HAVE IT REPLACED BUT I BELIEVE BY THE TIME I GOT THE NOTICE IT MAY HAVE BEEN TO LATE BECAUSE NOW IT HAS CAUSED IT TO NOW LEAK POWER STEERING COULD INTO THE RACK AND PINION. I HAVE DONE OIL CHANGES AND DONE A COMPLETE TUNE UP TO DATE BUT THIS IS CAUSING THE POWER STEERING FLUID TO WASTE AND IS DETERIORATING THE RACK AND PINION. NOT HAVING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF POWER STEERING MAKES IT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR EASILY. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY DRIVE WORRIED THAT THE CAR MAY LOSE CONTROL AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN I AM DRIVING WITH EVEREST I CANNOT AFFORD FOR ME TO LOSE CONTROL OVER SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DETECTED AND GIVES WHEN I WENT TO HONDA TO CHANGE THE HOSE. IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A PROBLEM WITH JUST THE HOSE IT IS A PROBLEM MUCH MORE PROFOUND THEN THAT WHICH NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I HAVE A 2004 HONDA ACCORD V6 AND WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON MY WAY TO WORK, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILED. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED, BUT WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER. WITH A V6, I EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND COME UP TO SPEED QUICKLY AND SAFELY. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE ON THE 29TH OF NOVEMBER AND I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED BY A MINIVAN DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILING COMPLETELY. I AM TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION OIL PUMP FAILED, AND THAT LEAD TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I AM NOW TRYING TO TRADE IN THIS VEHICLE FOR A TOYOTA INSTEAD. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING ANY HONDA VEHICLES. IN MY EXPERIENCE, HONDAS NONCHALANT WAY OF DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DISTURBING, AND MAKES ME FEEL THAT HONDA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ME AS A CUSTOMER. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: THERE IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IN MY CAR. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHTS COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN NO ITEMS ARE IN THE SEAT, AND OCCASIONALLY COMES WHEN ITEMS ARE IN THE SEAT. AT 57 TO 60 MPH, WHEN ACCELERATING THE WHOLE CAR SHUDDERS. WAS TOLD THE FRONT AXLES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA ACCORD FROM 1997 TO 2005. ONE PIECE OF ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE FROM A HONDA REPAIR TECHNICIAN WAS THAT HE SAW THIS PROBLEM AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. THIS HAS TO BE A PRODUCE DEFECT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN SO FREQUENTLY. I AM NOT SURE OF THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THIS PROBLEM ON VEHICLE SAFETY IF LEFT UNREPAIRED BUT I HAVE TO IMAGINE ANY PROBLEM WITH AN AXLE COULD BE POTENTIALLY SERIOUS AND/OR LIFE THREATENING. *TR

DRIVING ON I-205 AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. ENGINE WOULD GO FROM NORMAL TO RACING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. GOT OFF AND PARKED TO PICK UP A FRIEND AND IT WOULD NOT GO IN TO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF THE SPOT. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AND THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. FOR ABOUT $4500. THERE WAS ONLY ABOUT 47000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME.
