THE DEALER DISCOVERED PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR FOR 2009 HONDA ACCORD - REAR BRAKES STARTED TO GRIND AT 16,300 MILES. HE SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR. I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT HONDA WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR SINCE IT WAS CLEARLY THEIR FAULT THAT THE BRAKES WERE WEARING OUT TOO EARLY. *TR
POWER DRIVER SIDE SEAT SLIPS IN TRACK RANDOMLY. FEELS LIKE IT IS NOT LOCKING IN TRACK AS IT SHOULD. SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN ADJUSTING SEAT. OTHER TIMES WILL HAPPEN WHEN BRAKING. OCCASIONALLY CAN FIND SPOT IN TRACK WHERE SEAT WILL CONSTANTLY SLIP FRONT TO REAR AND BACK AGAIN. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS BEING INSPECTED FOR REGISTRATION WHEN SHE WAS TOLD THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY HONDA ACCORD 2009 IS ONLY 33, 216 MILES, LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD BUT THE ABS HAS PROBLEM, I HAVE TO REPLACE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, HONDA DOES NOT COVER BECAUSE THE WARRANTY IS OVER. I HAVE NEVER HAD ABS PROBLEM WITH MY 2002 ACCORD THAT HAS MILEAGE IS OVER 100,000. I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT THIS ISSUE AS ABS MALFUNCTION. *TR
VEHICLE HAS BEEN CONSUMING OIL SINCE PURCHASED WITH 9,500 MILES. OIL CONSUMPTION HAS CONTRIBUTED TO FOULED SPARK PLUGS. FOULED SPARK PLUGS TRIGGERED "CYLINDER #3 MISFIRE" CODE AND EXTREMELY POOR PERFORMANCE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE CAR EXPERIENCED DIFFERENT CYLINDER MISFIRE ISSUES. HONDA DEALER PERFORMED ENGINE COMPUTER SOFTWARE UPDATES ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THAT DID NOT REMEDY THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. NO WARNING LIGHTS TO INDICATE THAT THE ENGINE WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. IF THE CONSUMER IS NOT AWARE THAT THE VEHICLE IS USING OIL, THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THE ENGINE TO SEIZE CAUSING COSTLY REPAIRS OR TO LOSE POWER IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. DEALER IS NOW PERFORMING HONDA OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. ACCORDING TO HONDA, CONSUMING 1 QUART OF OIL IN 1,000 MILES IS NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE. THIS BURNED OIL IS BEING RELEASED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT AS EVIDENCED BY THE BLACK CARBON ON THE TAIL PIPES. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A LEADING CAR MANUFACTURER WOULD DEEM OIL CONSUMPTION IN A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AS NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE. THIS IS THE FIRST VEHICLE OUT OF 12 THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED THAT CONSUMED OIL. EVEN VEHICLES WITH OVER 200,000 MILES DID NOT CONSUME OIL. I PURCHASED A HONDA SO THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RELIABILITY OR BREAK DOWNS FOR MANY YEARS. NOW I HAVE TO WORRY WITH CHECKING THE OIL EVERY WEEK AS TO NOT GET LOW OR RUN OUT. SAME VEHICLE HAS ALSO HAD PREMATURE REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 60,000 MILES. COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH AMERICAN HONDA. CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST HONDA OVER THE PREMATURE REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND ALL THREE OF THE PASSENGERS WERE INJURED. THE PASSENGER IN THE REAR SEAT SUFFERED LACERATIONS TO THE HEAD THAT NEEDED STITCHES. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT BELTS. REAR BRAKE PADS WORE PREMATURELY AS PER CLASS ACTION SUIT NOTIFICATION WE RECEIVED IN 2010. UPON INSPECTION FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE (NO OTHER SIGNS OF A PROBLEM OCCURRED) FOUND THAT THE ROTORS WERE ALSO RUINED AND REQUIRED REPAIR. HONDA SEEMS READY TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF THE SITUATION BECAUSE OF THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT AND WOULD NOT PAY FOR ROTOR REPLACEMENT, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT THE DEALER INDICATED. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $337. NOT HAPPY AND THE SECOND PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE ON A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM (FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS WENT AND WERE REPLACED BY HONDA AT ABOUT 20,000 MI). I'M CONCERNED THERE WILL BE ONGOING CRITICAL FAILURES IF OUR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ACCORD IS ANY INDICATION OF WHAT IS TO COME. *TR
REAR BRAKE PADS HAVING TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH RESURFACE OF ROTORS, BOTH FRONT AND REAR. *TR
PULLED SUN VISOR DOWN AND SOMETHING BROKE, NOW IT JUST HANGS ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN, SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF THIS WITH CIVICS AS WELL ACCORDING TO POSTINGS ON THE WEB. THIS IS A DISTRACTION AND BLOCKS VIEW OF DRIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE TRACKING CONTROL (VTC) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME BUT DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
I WENT TO TAKE MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD EXL COUPE 2.4L 4CYL. FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE IN THE COURSE THE ADVISOR AT THE OXALA SERVICE DESK SAID THAT MY REAR BRAKES ARE IN SEVERE CHANGE AND ROTOR REPLACEMENT. I SAID THAT THE CAR HAS 33,000 MILES. HE SAID THIS HAPPENS. I FOUND OUT IN THE SHOWROOM WAITING FOR MY CAR THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THE 2009 ACCORD BRAKE PROBLEM. I REMOVED MY CAR TOOK ELSEWHERE TO CHECK IT OUT ONLY TO FIND THE BREAK PADS AND THE ROTORS NEEDED CHANGING AS WELL . I WENT AHEAD FOR THE REPAIR SO THAT I WOULD BE SAFE. TO FIND OUT THAT MONTH EARLIER I HAD AN ACCIDENT BY NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP EVEN WITH TIME TO STOP THE VEHICLE NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD AN ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THAT MY BRAKES LOCKED UP DUE TO MANUFACTURES DEFECT OF THE ONBOARD BRAKING SYSTEM. I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR. THE PARTS ON THE CAR WERE DEFECTIVE. IF THIS IS THE CARE I SHOULD HAVE COMPENSATION FROM THE AUTO ACCIDENT AS WELL. *TR
IN JUNE 2009 I PURCHASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. AT 10,000 MILES I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKE PADS. AFTER I COMPLAINED BARBER HONDA CHANGED MY BRAKES FOR FREE. NOW I HAVE 27,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND ONCE AGAIN MY REAR BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD BY BARBER HONDA THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR MY NEW BRAKE PADS. I WAS ALSO TOLD IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I'VE HAD MANY CARS IN MY LIFE AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES EVEN ONCE W/27,000 MILES ON IT MUCH LESS TWICE. AT THIS RATE I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES ONCE A YEAR AT $150 EACH TIME. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE FOR THE DEFECT WHERE BOTH REAR BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED EACH TIME. IN ADDITION, THE REAR ROTORS WERE REPLACED ONCE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. UPDATED 10/10/12 *CN
AT ABOUT 20,000, OUR 2009 HONDA ACCORD (V6) STARTED HAVING REAR BRAKE NOISES. WE TOOK IT TO THE WEST COVINA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE REAR PADS WERE WORN AND NEEDED REPLACING. I SAID THAT IS VERY PREMATURE TO HAVE REAR PADS WEAR OUT SO SOON AND THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL AND WOULD NOT CONSIDER ANY WARRANTY REPLACEMENT OR DISCOUNT AS IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. WE TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT SHOP AND HAD THEM REPLACED. STRANGE THAT IT WAS BOTH INNER PADS THAT HAD WORN OUT--THE OUTERS HAD ABOUT 50% LIFE LEFT.*TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR UNRELATED ISSUES, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR BRAKES AND CALIPERS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE BRAKES WERE WEARING PREMATURELY DUE TO A FAILURE INVOLVING THE CALIPERS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

"6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR" WHEN ACCELERATING AT A SLOW TO MODERATE PACE, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENTER 3RD GEAR WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND GEAR. THE PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY AND IS THEREFORE A DANGER TO EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. HONDA 3RD GEAR TSB ON 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. UNDER NORMAL USE, REAR BRAKE PADS FAIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. MY ORIGINAL PADS WERE COMPLETELY GONE AT 15,000 MILES. NOW THE SECOND SET OF PADS IS WORN OUT AT 30,000 MILES. FRONT PADS SEEM TO BE BARELY WORN, AND ARE ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. *TR
I WANT TO ADD MY NAME TO THE LIST OF PEOPLE WITH DEFECTIVE BRAKES ON THEIR 2009 ACCORDS. MY BRAKES STARTED SQUEAKING LIKE MAD AT ABOUT 17000 MILES. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME THAT HONDA WOULD NOT ISSUE A RECALL, KNOWING THAT THEIR REAR BRAKE PADS ARE DEFECTIVE. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FACT BY MAKING A REPLACEMENT PAD DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL PAD. TO CHARGE CUSTOMERS ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT IN SIMPLY UNTHINKABLE ON HONDA'S PART. *TR
I'VE HAD NUMEROUS INCIDENTS WHICH CAN BE CONSIDERED CLOSE CALLS WITH HONDA ACCORDS IN RECENT MONTHS. BESIDES BEING BLINDED BY THE HIGH BEAM DRLS (BOTH FROM THE FRONT AND THE REAR), I HAVE HAD TROUBLE SEEING USAGE OF THE HONDA'S TURN SIGNALS. THIS IS DUE TO THE HIGH LIGHT DENSITY OF THE DRL NEXT TO THE SMALL TURN SIGNALS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT THESE DRL BE ELIMINATED. THANK YOU. *TR

2009 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER STATES THAT SHE AND HER HUSBAND HAD TO PAY TO GET BRAKE REPAIR WORK DONE. SHE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE LAWSUIT IS ONLY GOING TO PAY BACK A PORTION. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, SHE WAS ADVISED THE PROBLEM WAS THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS NOT AWARE THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED AS WELL AS A LAWSUIT. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEN SEEK REIMBURSEMENT THROUGH THE LAWSUIT. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE SLOWLY TO THE DEALER WITH THE HAZARD LIGHTS ACTIVATED. THE TECHNICIANS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL REMAINING IN THE VEHICLE DESPITE THE OIL LEVEL GAUGE INDICATING THAT THERE WAS OVER 80 PERCENT OF OIL REMAINING IN THE VEHICLE. AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE WERE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE AND THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED YET, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL SHORTLY AFTER REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT I HAVE HAD A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE AC ON THE RIGHT SIDE VENT ON MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD. IT IS OCTOBER OF 2011 AND THE DEALER HAS NOW REPLACED THE SAME BLOWER MOTOR 3 TIMES. IT ALLEVIATES THE ISSUE, ONLY FOR IT TO RETURN. THE DEALER HAS NO OTHER EXPLANATION. ALSO, I HAVE REPLACED 2 DOOR ACTUATOR MOTORS. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT IN DECEMBER OF 2009 AND IT IS OCTOBER OF 2011. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER HONDA DUE TO HAVING ISSUES OCCUR REPEATEDLY AND SO SOON AFTER A NEW PURCHASE. OBVIOUSLY BRAKES HAVE TO BE FIXED AGAIN AND AGAIN. *TR
2009 HONDA ACCORD. REAR BRAKES WORN OUT AT ONLY 11,000. PROBLEM IS WELL KNOW BY HONDA. CLASS ACTION HAS BEEN FILED. RESULT OF CLASS ACTION, CUSTOMER MUST PAY FOR REPAIR AND SUBMIT RECEIPT FOR REFUND UPTO $150.00, BUT HONDA IS CHARGING $300.00 FOR THE REPAIR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HONDA SHOULD BE FORCED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER. *TR

THE SECOND TIME THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER, THE PROBLEM HAD WORSENED. THE BRAKE PADS AND BOTH REAR CALIPERS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED DUE TO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT CONCERNING THE REAR BRAKES, SHE RECEIVED HALF OF HER MONEY BACK. *JB
BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING WITHIN THE FIRST SIX MONTHS BUT WE WERE TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WHEN TAKEN IN FOR REGULAR WARRANTY-COVERED CHECKS. STARTED NOTICEABLE SHIMMING WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND TOOK IN FOR CHECK AT 39,000 MILES. ENDED UP REPLACING ROTORS, BRAKES AND REAR BEARING. THE REAR BEARING ALONE COST $198. ALL IN ALL, OUR BILL CAME TO $667.73. WE'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR OF CARPET PULLING AWAY IN FRONT PASSENGER SIDE; VIBRATION NOISE ON BACK DASHBOARD (OR WHATEVER YOU'D CALL THE SHELF BEHIND PASSENGER SEATS); DRIVER DOOR HANDLE STICK PROBLEM, STEERING WHEEL CLICKING NOISE. PURCHASED HONDA AFTER BEING RECOMMENDED BY SO MANY SATISFIED CUSTOMERS/FRIENDS. INVESTED MORE THEN WE PLANNED BUT THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH THE INVESTMENT; DISAPPOINTED IN QUALITY OF PARTS AND REPAIR WORK. *TR
I AM LEASING A 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX COUPE. I WAS INFORMED AT LESS THAN 15,000 MILES THAT I WAS IN NEED OF NEW REAR BRAKE PADS. WHILE I FULLY EXPECTED TO PAY FOR GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND REASONABLE "WEAR ITEMS" DURING MY LEASE. THERE IS NO REASON THAT I SHOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY BRAKE PADS AT 15,000 MILES. IN SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE CENTER AT MY HONDA DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR 2008 AND 2009 ACCORDS TO EXPERIENCE PREMATURE REAR BRAKE WEAR BUT THAT HONDA NOR THE DEALERSHIP WOULD PAY FOR THE SERVICE. I WAS THEN INFORMED OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT COULD REIMBURSE $150 OF THE $239 IT WOULD COST TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS. WHILE THIS DOES HELP WITH THE FINANCIAL BURDEN, IT DOES NOT COVER THE ENTIRE EXPENSE. NOR DOES IT EXCUSE HONDA'S UNWILLINGNESS TO FIX THIS QUALITY/SAFETY ISSUE AND SPARE THEIR CUSTOMERS THE HASSLE OF THE UP-FRONT EXPENSE AND ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK REQUIRED TO TAKE PART IN THE SUIT. I EVEN CONTACTED HONDA U.S. DIRECTLY REGARDING THE ISSUE AND THEY DIRECTED ME BACK TO THE CLASS ACTION HOTLINE AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. ALTHOUGH HONDA DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY PRODUCT, THEY HAVE RELEASED AN "IMPROVED" BRAKE PAD WHICH, SUPPOSEDLY, HAS A LONGER LIFESPAN. CLEARLY, HOWEVER, THERE IS A DEFECT WITH BRAKES THAT WEAR DOWN SO QUICKLY WITH NORMAL USE. ONE OF THE REASONS I CHOSE A HONDA PRODUCT WAS DUE TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SUPERIOR QUALITY AND SAFETY RATING. IN LIGHT OF THE CURRENT SITUATION, I WILL LIKELY NOT LEASE OR PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA VEHICLE WHEN MY LEASE RUNS OUT. *TR

RESULT OF CLASS ACTION, CUSTOMER MUST PAY FOR REPAIR AND SUBMIT RECEIPT FOR REFUND UPTO $150.00, BUT HONDA IS CHARGING $300.00 FOR THE REPAIR. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, A VEHICLE MOVING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE CONTROL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED INJURIES. THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 27,000.
I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHEN SOMEONE WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I TOOK IT IN TO BE CHECKED AT HONDA OF THE AVENUES IN JACKSONVILLE, FL. BUT THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL ACTION DESIGNED TO SHUT OFF THE AIRBAG WHEN PERSONS LEAN IN THE PATH OF THE SIDE AIRBAG. I LET THEM KNOW THAT I WANTED TO HAVE THIS CHECKED, WHICH THEY TOLD ME IT WAS. FAST FORWARD TO OCT 2014 I HEARD OF THE AIRBAG PASSENGER PROBLEM AND CHECKED MY VIN. I WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT BECAUSE OF MY ORIGINAL CONCERN I CALLED FRONT RANGE HONDA IN COLORADO SPRINGS (WE MOVED) AND THEY RAN A CHECK OF MY SYSTEM ON 10/30/2014. FORTUNATELY THEY FOUND AND REPLACED THE FAULTY PASSENGER SEAT RAIL SENSORS WHEN THEY SHOWED AS MAJOR FAILURE! THANK GOODNESS I NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT TO TEST THE PASSENGER SENSOR'S! PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME FAILURE AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL LEAD TO A RECALL TO PREVENT SOMEONE FROM FINDING OUT THE HARD WAY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT INCREASE ACCELERATION WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS WAS CONSUMED WITH OIL. ALSO, THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL WAS LOW. THE DEALER PLACED AN ORDER FOR A NEW SPARK PLUG TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,127.
I OWN A 2009 EX HONDA ACCORD. TOOK CAR TO GET NORMAL MAINTENANCE AT 14,000 MILES TO MY HONDA DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT MY BACK BRAKES WERE ALMOST WORN DOWN TO NEEDING REPLACED. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A NORMAL MAINTENANCE AT 21000 MILES AND SAID MY BACK BRAKES NEEDED REPLACED. NOW I AM STUCK PAYING $250 FOR BACK BRAKES ON A YEAR AND AHALF OLD ACCORD. I OWN A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. AT AROUND 25000 MILES I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE REAR WHEELS. THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR TOLD ME MY BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. 2009 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYLINDER, 30K MILES, FIRST OWNER PASSING A LARGE TRUCK ON HIGHWAY 80, CALIFORNIA, EAST BOUND, NEAR GREEN VALLEY ROAD EXIT, APPROACHING FAIRFIELD ON SEPTEMBER 28 AT 2:30PM. ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK AND CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE TO DANGERS SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 70MPH. I HAD TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. THEN I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE REVVED VERY HIGH. I MADE SURE MY FOOT WAS ONLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WITH IN ABOUT 10 SECONDS THE CAR STOPPED REVVING, BUT NOW MY BRAKE ROTOR ARE WARPED. MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX WITH ONLY 32K MILES ON IT STARTED TO CONSUME OIL VERY QUICKLY. WHILE THE % OIL LIFE REMAINING INDICATOR SAID I HAVE 30% LIFE REMAINING, THE DIPSTICK DID NOT REGISTER ANY OIL ON IT. I'M GLAD THAT I CHECKED, BECAUSE I SHUDDER AT THE POSSIBILITY OF A CAR CRASH DUE TO THE ENGINE DYING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT SHE HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. SHE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,160.
