235/45R18 94S M+S I originally purchased these tires because they were rated #2 on top 10 anti-hydroplaning lists. After receiving the tires I realized the anti-hydroplaning characteristics are due to an unusually deep tire tread. After driving them a bit I realized that the tire compound had excessive lack of grip on lightly wet surfaces and often on dry surfaces. So they may be good for anti-hydroplaning as long as the tree depth is deep, but the worst traction for dry or slightly wet surfaces for ANY tire I have ever driven. Going down slight downhills with a turn is extremely dangerous even at slow speeds. This morning I was going down a short street with a slight grade and a turn at the bottom when the car failed to turn and continued straight (like on ice). These tires (same on my wife's Mazda) have had traction problems since we bought and installed them. My wife's Mazda won't go up hills with turns on dry pavement and at slow speeds without losing traction. All tires on both vehicles have decent tread depth. This is a dangerous driving condition on uphill/w turns and especially on downhill/w turns. I believe the NTSB should do an investigation into car accident deaths occurring on graded hills with turns at the top or bottom of the inclinations. The tire in suspect is the Firestone Winterforce 2 tire. Please investigate this to possibly save lives. And if a high accident rate is found please have these tires recalled.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THEN THE CAR'S FRONT END PASSENGER SIDE DROPPED TO THE GROUND AND WAS DRAGGING WHEN I GOT OUT I REALIZE THE RIM WAS SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE INTO PIECES AND IT CAUSED THE BALL JOINT ON THE LOWER CONTROL ARM TO SEPARATE AND CAUSED OTHER DAMAGE
MICHELIN PILOT MXM4 TIERS CRACKING ON THE SIDE WALL, TIRES HAVE 3/4 TREAD LIFE STILL LEFT ON ALL 4 TIRES. GOODYEAR AUTO SERVICE SAID THEY LOOK LIKE THERE DRY ROTTING
MY WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANT AT 50,000 MILES. TWO YEARS LATER, BOTH OF MY WHEEL BEARINGS ARE BAD AGAIN. IT APPEARS THERE ARE OTHER INCIDENTS OF WHEEL BEARINGS ON 2010 HONDA ACCORDS GOING BAD UNDER 100,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE WIDE SPREAD.
THREE MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE HONDA, THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON, AND WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE AND I SHOULD JUST "DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK" UNTIL IT GOES OUT. IT DID GO OUT, BUT SEVEN MONTHS LATER THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I AGAIN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN, AND IT WOULD BE FIXED AT NO CHARGE. HOWEVER, WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN, I WAS TOLD I'D HAVE TO PAY $240 BECAUSE THE SENSOR WAS BAD. HAVING RESEARCHED THE ISSUE, I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SENSOR PROBLEM, THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT IT, THAT THEY LIED TO ME ABOUT "DRIVING AROUND THE BLOCK." THEN THEY LIED AGAIN, TELLING ME THEY WOULD FIX IT AT NO CHARGE.
HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. THE SOUND INCREASES WITH SPEED. WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING IS DEFECTIVE AFTER 16000 MILES. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THIS PROBLEM COULD BE WIDE SPREAD.

AFTER SPENDING SO MUCH ON TIRES WITHIN A SIX MONTH PERIOD, I ASKED CONTINENTAL TO REPLACE JUST ONE OF THE TIRES UNDER WARRANTY (THE TIRE SHOP HAD MERCY AND REPLACED ONE FOR FREE!). CONTINENTAL'S INITIAL WARRANTY INCLUDES ROAD HAZARD PROTECTION FOR THE FIRST 2/10THS OF WEAR, WHICH THIS TIRE EASILY FELL UNDER. ON 3/18/15 I TOOK OUR 2010 HONDA ACCORD WITH 28,037 MILES TO SUBURBAN HONDA IN FARMINGTON HILLS,MI FOR A OIL CHANGE,THE SERVICE MANAGER NOTIFIED ME THAT THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PADS HAVE WORN OUT TO THE POINT OF WEARING OUT THE ROTOR BEYOND TURNING TO REPAIR,AND I NEED A NEW CALIPER THAT AS WE KNOW MUST BE REPLACED IN PAIRS. HIS PRICE FOR REPAIRS WAS $1027.60 + TAX =$1089.26 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD AUTO REPAIR FACILITY AND HAD ALL NEW PADS,ROTORS AND CALIPERS REPLACED FOR $650.04 THIS COSTLY EXPENSE AT THIS LOW MILEAGE OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE,HOW MANY OTHER TRUSTING CUSTOMERS BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AND HAD THE SAME OR SIMILAR REAR BRAKE FAIL AS WELL. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN MAY 2011. WITHIN ALMOST TWO YEARS I HAD TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS I WAS TOLD BY MY LOCAL DEALER THAT THIS IS NORMAL. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. NOW AS OF TODAY, 06/18/2014 MY CAR HAS BEEN BACK IN THE SHOP TWICE WITH IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS FOR MORE BRAKE PROBLEMS. I REPLACED THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER IN 4/2014 WITH ABOUT 720000 MILES AND NOW TODAY I AM REPLACING THE LEFT REAR CALIPER. I HAVE HAD A HONDA ACCORD COUPE THAT I HAVE PUT WELL OVER 100000 MILES ON AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE CALIPERS. I AM VERY UNHAPPY AND I THINK AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE PUT ON THIS CAR YEAR OF 2010 BRAKE SYSTEM AS THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THE NET REGARDING THIS.
