THE HEAD RESTRAINT CAUSES SERIOUS NECK PAIN. THE SEAT DESIGN IS IMPROPER AND DOES NOT ALLOW FOR COMFORTABLE SEATING. MY LEGS GO NUMB WHICH CAN LEAD TO INVALID RESPONSE IN BRAKING. STIFF NECK PAIN CAN CAUSE ME TO MISS BLIND SPOTS OR HAVE REACTION TIME NECCESSARY TO AVOID DANGEROUS COLLISIONS. THESE SEATS HAVE NOT BEEN CORRECTED AND SHOULD BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. MULTIPLE POSITIONS DO NOT HELP. DRIVING FOR EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME CAUSE NECK TO LEG PAIN.
WHILE BACKING THE VEHICLE REAR CAMERA GOES BLACK, LEAVING ONLY LIGHTED TRAJECTORY LINES ON THE SCREEN. FOR 2 YEARS THE CAR HAS BEEN UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED STATIONARY AND MOVING. ON A CITY STREET ONLY. WE HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEOS AND PICTURES IF NEEDED.
I HAD PARKED THE CAR IN A PARKING SPACE AT DOLLYWOOD IN PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT AND STARTED THE CAR THE LIGHT FOR THE STEERING SYSTEM CAME ON AND I COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I LOOKED IN THE MANUAL BUT STARTING AND RESTARTING THE CAR DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. HAD THIS OCCURRED AT SPEED I COULD NOT HAVE CONTROLLED THE CAR . I CALLED HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY HAD A TOW TRUCK SENT OUT TO GET THE CAR. THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY IS GOING TO TAKE THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP MONDAY JUNE 1ST SO I WILL NOT KNOW ANY MORE TILL THAN. I DO SEE ON THE INTERNET OF PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. I DO NOT KNOW IF I SHOULD HAVE REPORTED THIS TILL AFTER THE DEALER CHECKS THE CAR OR NOT BUT AFTER SEEING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I WANTED TO REPORT IT IF SIMILAR PROBLEMS REOCCUR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE. SO THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS, ONCE ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND TWICE LAST WEEK (AFTER HAVING THE CAR DROPPED OFF TO FIX THE BRAKE TSB THAT CAUSES A SQUEAK ON TURNS). I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD FROM AGGRESSIVE TO NORMAL DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOOK AT MY DASH ONLY TO SEE ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON. ONCE THIS HAPPENS YOU CAN SEE THE MPG INDICATOR HAS A DELAY, A CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR OF THE CARS CONTROLS, LDW SWITCH NO LONGER FUNCTIONS, AND LDW AND FCW STOP WORKING. THE CAR CONTINUES TO DRIVE BUT YOU CAN TELL ALL ELECTRONICS ARE EXPERIENCING A DELAY OR ISSUE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE NAVI AND RADIO. SOME OF THE LIGHTS GO AWAY AND COME BACK AS YOU DRIVE, AND AFTER TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES ALL LIGHTS TURN OFF WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FCW AND LDW WITH THE "FCW SYSTEM FAILURE" MESSAGE WHICH REMAIN, THAT GOES AWAY AFTER A FEW HOURS.
STARTED CAR, PUT IN REVERSE AND COULD NOT TURN STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. COULD ONLY STEER STRAIGHT. INFORMATION DISPLAY ISSUED THIS WARNING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM (EPS). TRIED THE WHAT TO DO WHEN THE INDICATOR MESSAGE COMES ON IN THE OWNERS MANUEL SEVERAL TIMES. DIDN'T WORK, CAR IS SITTING DISABLED IN DRIVEWAY. NOW IT IS UP TO US TO HAVE IT TOWED TO LOCAL DEALSHIP TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR ACCORDING TO HONDA MOTORS.
DURING THREE HOUR NIGHT DRIVE THE DASH DISPLAY DIMMED TO BLACK AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. AFTER AN HOUR OR SO THE PANEL LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THEY WENT OUT AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY DURING THE RETURN DRIVE IN DAYLIGHT PANEL SEEMED NORMAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED MULTIPLE TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,600.
THE VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AND THE CAR EPS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND COMING OF THE HIGHWAY RAMP. I LOST CONTROL OF ALL STEERING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS CAR CANNOT BE CONSIDERED SAFE AT ALL. I WAS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AFTERWARDS AND WAS FORCED TOO WITHOUT POWER STEERING BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK. IF THIS IS NOT A SAFETY HAZARD I DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED THEN.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATLEY 45 MILES PER HOUR, MY STREEING WHEEL BECAME VERY STIFF AND THEN COMPLETELY LOCKED. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN WHICH CORRECTED THE PROBLEM.
AIR BAG RECALL ?
ENGINE KNOCKS ON START UP, KNOCKS ONLY ON FIRST START UP OR WHEN SITTING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, AFTER THAT NO KNOCK'
STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE MESSAGE "CHECK FUEL CAP" WAS DISPLAYED. *TR
I GOT OFF WORK AND THE HORN WAS HONKING. IT HAD BEEN HONKING SO LONG THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. AND THEN WHEN SOMEONE JUMP STARTED IT AND I STARTED TO DRIVE OFF, IT HONKED SOME MORE. A FEW MINUTES LATER ENTERING THE FREEWAY IT STARTED HONKING ONCE AGAIN! EACH TIME THE HONKING STOPPED WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL. 3 TIMES IN ONE MORNING IT HONKED AND WOULD NOT STOP UNTIL I TURNED THE WHEEL. SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE THE HONKING COMES AND GOES ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. BUT THIS LATEST INCIDENT HAS BEEN THE WORST BY FAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE FELLA BEHIND ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM..HE CALLED IT RANDOM HONKING. *TR
AC WAS BLOWING COLD AIR, TOOK THE CAR TO MIDDLETOWN HONDA IN MIDDLETOWN NY WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND WAS TOLD THE AC CONDENSER IS DAMAGED DUE TO ROAD DEBRIS AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $650.00
MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE PARKED IN AN PLAZA ON PEMBROKE ROAD AT THE BEGINNING ON MARCH 2015. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN X 2 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED (ENGINE RUNNING) ON SEPARATE DAYS. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING ALONG PINES BOULEVARD IN PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC (TUESDAY APRIL 21ST 2015), AS I APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION OF HIATUS ROAD AND PINES BOULEVARD, I STARTED SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT. THE VEHICLE THEN SHUT DOWN/STALLED AGAIN. THE FACT THAT THERE WAS A RED LIGHT HELPED TO PREVENT AND ACCIDENT, AS EVERYONE DRIVING IN THE SAME DIRECTION HAD TO STOP. THIS TIME I HAD TO CALL FOR A POLICE CRUISER TO STAND IN PLACE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET A TOW OR GET IT STARTED AGAIN. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES, I FINALLY GOT IT STARTED AGAIN AND MADE IT HOME. I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER ON WEDNESDAY APRIL 22, 2015. THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY (4-23-2015), FUEL PUMP (4-24-2015) THEY SAID THAT THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS AND IS NOW GETTING MORE FREQUENT. THEY (AUTONATION HONDA IN MIAMI LAKES) HAVE BEEN TRYING TO 'FIX' THE PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT YET SUCCEEDED. TODAY IS MAY 3RD 2015 I AM ASKING THAT THE NTSB LOOKS INTO THIS ISSUE, AS THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS IN PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC, THIS ISSUE CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.. WHILE EXITING OFF AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE POWER STEERING TIGHTENED UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MAKE TURNS ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. I ARRIVED TO MY DESTINATION NARROWLY AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. I SEARCHED FOR OTHER SIMILAR FAILURES ON THE INTERNET AND NOTICED MANY MORE INCIDENTS, HENCE THIS COMPLAINT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON 4-10-15 IN MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD. I HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND.IT WAS A VERY HARD IN PACT BUT THE AIR BAG DIDN'T COME OUT UNTIL I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET OUT OF THE CAR.THE AIR BAG HIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY FACE, NECK, SHOULDER AND BREAST.I CONTACTED THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS NOT A BIG DEAL AND MUST OF PINCHED A LINE TO THE SENSOR. THE PAINT AND BODY SHOP SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. THE INSURANCE WANTS TO FIX IT FOR 10,000 AND I'M VERY SCARED TO GET MY CAR BACK AND DRIVE IT. I WAS DRIVING ON I 75 NORTH NEAR MIRAMAR EXIT AND I FELT THE STEERING WHEEL HARD, THEN I LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD AND THE ESP LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS ABLE TO REDUCE SPEED AND USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO GO THE THE SIDE ISLE. TURNED OFF THE CAR AND ON AGAIN AND THE ESP LIGHT WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE. I GOT BACK MY EXIT WAS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. I EXITED ON MIRAMAR PKWY EAST AND THE ESP LIGHT CAME BACK AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO STOP BUT I COULDN'T TURN RIGHT OR LEFT. I WAITED TURNED ON AND STILL HAD THE PROBLEM. WAITED AGAIN AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. I CALLED TRIPLE A AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALER AND THEY SHOWED WHAT HAPPENED IN THEIR COMPUTER BUT IT IS NOT HAPPENING TO THE SERVICE TECHS NOW THEY ARE KEEPING THE CAR BUT I SUSPECT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING AND I AM REALLY SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW. I WAS LUCKY DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT BUT NOT SURE IF I WILL NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. *TR
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY STEERING HAS GONE OUT. 1ST TIME WAS ON APRIL 4 2015 GOING APPROX. 20 MILES PER HOUR, WAS ABOUT TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE OF WHAT HAPPEN BUT STEERING GOT EXTREMELY HARD. HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF, PULL OUT THE MANUAL AND SEE WHAT THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH MEANT. THEN ON APRIL 24 2015, GOING APPROX. 75 MILES PER HOUR ON THE INTERSTATE IT WENT OUT AGAIN. COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK DRIVING HOME. AFTER THIS SECOND INCIDENT IS WHEN I DECIDED TO RESEARCH AND SEE IF OTHERS WERE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND WOW THERE ARE SEVERAL. ITS A SHAME THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL BY NOW. I AM MORE APPALLED BY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE BROUGHT THEIR VEHICLES IN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SERVICE PEOPLE THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM SO NOTHING GETS DONE. WILL PEOPLE NEED TO BE KILLED LIKE THE OTHERS CAR ISSUES BEFORE THIS IS RESOLVED? MY CAR JUST TURNED TO 20,000 MILES. I SHOULD NOT HAVE ISSUES. MY CAR IS GOING IN ON MONDAY FOR SERVICE. UPON PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.

THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ON MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD SPORT SUDDENLY FAIL. TWO OF WHICH OCCURRED AT SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR, WHILE MAKING A LEFT/RIGHT TURNS. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP I WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT TO CLEAR THE PROBLEM. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 45 MILES PER HOUR, A POWER STEERING WARNING MESSAGE FLASHED AS THE FAILURE OCCURRED. HOWEVER ON THE THIRD RECURRENCE I TRIED THE SAME THE ACT WITHOUT A CORRECTION. I THEN REALIZED THE CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAD IT TOW TO THE DEALER. I ALSO NOTIFIED HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA ON 3-18-15 AT 3:15 HRS. *TR

CAR WAS DESCENDING DOWN A HILL, I HEARD A LOUD METALLIC CLUNK AND THE CAR INSTANTLY ROTATED LEFT THROWING IT ACROSS THE ONCOMING LANE AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT THROUGH SOME TREES, CAR STOPPED IN MUD. MECHANIC FROM BODY SHOP THAT TOWED THE CAR SAID THE ENGINE STARTED FINE BUT THE CAR MADE A GRINDING SOUND WHEN HE TRIED FORWARD AND REVERSE, NEITHER WORKED. CAR WAS TOTALED DUE TO BODY DAMAGE. CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT HONDA WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE, REPAIR OR PAY ANY DAMAGES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES, SIZE 195/65R15. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE THREAD SEPARATED FROM THE SIDEWALL AND A BLACK POWDER SUBSTANCE EMITTED. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,500.
I WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE POWER STEERING QUIT WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. TEN MINUTES LATER THE POWER STEERING QUIT WHILE I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT. IN BOTH CASES THE STEERING RE-SET ITSELF AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN STARTING IT BACK UP. *TR
THE HEADREST OF THIS VEHICLE IS SO POORLY DESIGNED THAT AFTER AN HOUR OF SO OF HIGHWAY DRIVING MY NECK AND SHOULDERS BECAME STIFF AND UNCOMFORTABLE. THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO REMOVE THE HEADREST. I FELT THIS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD, SO I REINSTALLED THE HEADREST. SHORTLY THEREAFTER MY NECK AND SHOULDER STIFFNESS RETURNED. *TR
FOR OVER A WEEK MY 2013 HONDA SPORT HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING. I WAS THINKING THIS WAS DUE TO THE COLD WEATHER AND IN SPEAKING WITH MY COUSIN WHO HAS SAME VEHICLE HE SAID HIS DID THE SAME AND IT WAS THE NEW TECHNOLOGY WITH THE CVT. SO I FELT OK UNTIL WEDNESDAY JANUARY 14TH I WENT TO LEAVE WORK AND MY CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER. I HAD 2 PEOPLE TRY AND JUMP ME NOTHING. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO BROWN'S HONDA IN CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. THE NEXT DAY I GOT A CALL SAYING THAT MY STARTER HAD GONE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $879 TO REPLACE IT. THE PART ALONE WAS $430 GIVE OR TAKE. I DID NOT HAVE THAT KINDA OF MONEY FOR I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN MY TOWN AND THE GUY FOUND USED PART OF A 2013 HONDA THAT HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. TOOK HIM ALL OF AN HOUR TO PUT IT ON. CHARGED $50 FOR LABOR AND PART WAS HAVE THE PRICE. HE SHOWED ME THAT PART THAT HE RETURNED TO ME AND SAID IT WAS DEFECTED. HE EVEN WROTE A LETTER TO HONDA ON MY BEHALF AS WELL. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS MY CAR HAS YET TO EVEN SEE IT'S 3RD BIRTHDAY! ALSO MY BACKUP CAMERA TENDS TO GO OUT AS WELL. LIKE WHEN A TV MESSES UP AND GETS STATIC. *TR
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT I LOST POWER STEERING. AFTER PULLING OFF ROAD I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE STEERING RE-SET ITSELF. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 11 PM AND THE SUNROOF GLASS JUST EXPLODED. NOTHING HIT THE CAR AND LUCKILY THE VISOR WAS CLOSED OR I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. THIS IS A HAZARD AND HAS HAPPENED IN OTHER HONDA ACCORDS. THE DEALER OFFERED NO RECOURSE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2013 HONDA NOVEMBER OF 2013 AT ROCK HONDA IN FONTANA, CA. WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS FROM THE CAR SITTING SO LONG & IT BEING SO COLD.(THIS SHOULD HAVE SENT A RED FLAG). AFTER A FEW MONTHS & THEN THE CAR BEGAN TO ACT LIKE IT DID NOT WANT TO START. I WAS THEN STRANDED ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED HONDA CARE. THE FIRST DRIVER CAME TO MY CAR TOOK TWO MINUTES TRIED TO START IT, SAID THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG (AS HE WAS RUSHING & DID NOT HAVE TIME TO LOOK) HE ASKED TO USE MY PHONE CHARGER, LEFT MY HOOD UP (WHICH CAUSED DENTS IN MY HOOD FROM BEING ON THE FREEWAY WITH STRONG WINDS) & LEFT. THE SECOND DRIVER CAME & HAD TO GIVE ME A JUMP START & DO SOMETHING WITH THE GAS. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER UPON GETTING MY OIL CHANGE, EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM, & THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING. THEN MY CAR DIED AGAIN. I CALLED HONDA AGAIN & THEY WERE SENDING SOMEONE OUT TO JUMP START IT BUT I WALKED OVER TO THE SEARS NEXT DOOR & THEY JUMPED IT. THEN IT HAPPENED 2 DAYS IN A ROW. THE FIRST DAY, THE HONDA CARE DRIVER HAD TO USE TWO SETS OF JUMPER CABLES TO JUMP MY CAR. THE SECOND DAY THE DRIVER HAD TO JUMP MY CAR AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME I RECORDED IT. I THEN AGAIN BROUGHT MY CAR TO PENSKE HONDA IN ONTARIO WHERE I EXPLAINED TO A SERVICE TECHNICIAN WHAT HAPPENED & I CALLED HONDA CORPORATE OFFICES WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I TOLD HONDA CORPORATE ABOUT MY HOOD & HOW MANY TIMES I HAD TO CALL HONDA CARE. THEY SUPPOSEDLY OPENED A CLAIM BUT NEVER CALLED ME BACK & GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND WHEN I CALLED THEM. THE DEALERSHIP THEN DID MY OIL CHANGE & CHECKED THE CAR OUT & FOUND NOTHING. I THEN GOGGLED THE SYMPTOMS OF MY CAR & FOUND RECALL WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM WHICH SHUTS DOWN THE BATTERY ON THIS SITE. I BELIEVE ROCK HONDA SOLD ME THE VEHICLE WITHOUT REMEDYING THE RECALL PRIOR TO SALE. HONDA CORPORATION DID NOTHING.
2013 HONDA ACCORD: I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH AND SUDDENLY I FELT THE STEERING WHEEL GET STIFF AND IMMEDIATELY THE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD INDICATING MY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM HAD AN ISSUE. I SLOWED DOWN PROMPTLY IN THE ROAD (NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME) AND IT TOOK ALL I HAD TO TURN THE WHEEL TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A MOMENT JUST AS THE HONDA MANUAL INSTRUCTED AND WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, NOTHING HAD CHANGED, STILL LIGHT ON THE DASH AND NO POSSIBLE WAY OF ME TURNING THAT WHEEL. I CALLED AAA AND THE DRIVER OF AAA CAN VOUCH FOR THIS BECAUSE IT WAS STILL IN THE SAME CONDITION WHEN HE PICKED IT UP. THIS WAS WEDNESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 23 THAT IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. ON FRIDAY MORNING, AFTER DEALER WAS CLOSED CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY, THEY CALLED ME SAYING NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CARI SAID REALLY!!! I EXPLAINED TO THEM AGAIN AND THEY RAN A TEST AND IT SAID IT NEEDED SOFTWARE UPDATES AND/OR ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING RACK. BUT HONDA REQUIRES THE UPDATES TO BE INSTALLED FIRST AND THERE IS A CHARGE FOR THAT ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. SO I SAID DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. (WHICH I THINK IS ABSURD, MICROSOFT DOESN'T CHARGE ME MONEY FOR UPDATES) WITH IT BEING OVER THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY, I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY FOR HONDA TO BE CONTACTED (PER DEALERSHIP HONDA WAS CLOSED) SO I WENT 6 DAYS WITH NO CAR. MONDAY CAME AROUND AND HONDA APPROVED THE DEALERSHIP TO DO DIAGNOSTIC TESTING ON THE CAR AND WITH THE SAFETY CONCERN THEY WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK. I HOPE THIS HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD THAT BOTHERS ME MORE THAN DRIVING A CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND I LOSE CONTROL OF STEERING. *TR
SO SCARY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU CAN'T MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL OF YOUR CAR. I COULDN'T GET THE CAR STEERING TO MOVE, IT WAS WORSE THAN DRIVING A MAC TRUCK. I HAD A REAL HARD TIME GETTING AROUND CORNERS BUT WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU HAVE THIS HAPPEN AT NIGHT WITH NO ONE AROUND BUT DRIVE IT TO A SAFE PLACE. *TR
I TURNED MY VEHICLE ON AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS ON, INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE POWER STEERING TORQUE HAD GONE BAD. TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED - OVER $2K! ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD, I HAVE PASSED THE 35K MILE WARRANTY. THIS IS A PRETTY PAINFUL BILL TO BE FORCED TO PAY WITH SUCH A NEW CAR!! DRIVING ON A BUSY S.E. STREET IN WASHINGTON DC, DRIVING ABOUT 20 TO 30 MPH., HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A TIRE BLOWING OUT OR SOME OTHER TYPE OF NOISE EMANATING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKE, BUT INSTEAD THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT STOP. IT SPED UP AT LEAST ANOTHER 15 TO 20 MORE MPH, AND AGAIN, WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE VEHICLES IN THE BACK, SO I COULD NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR SHUT THE CAR OFF. THERE WERE ALSO VEHICLES ON THE SIDE AND IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN WITHOUT HITTING ANY PEDESTRIANS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLES. DECIDED TO TRY AND STOP THE CAR BY HITTING SOMETHING STATIONARY AND RAN INTO A SET OF STEPS THAT BELONGED TO AN OFFICE BUILDING. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND TWO PASSERSBY STOPPED TO ASSIST ME AND MY PASSENGER OUT OF THE CAR. WE WERE BOTH TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL WITH SUBSTANTIAL INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIB, NECK AND BACK FOR MYSELF AND THE PASSENGER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OVER THE STEERING OF THE CAR. IT BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER AND ALMOST RAN INTO ANOTHER CAR. WAS ABLE TO FORCEFULLY TURN THE WHEEL WITH ALL MY MIGHT. PULLED OVER SAFELY AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE PROBLEM WAS GONE. BROUGHT BY CAR INTO THE BODE SHOP FOR UNRELATED ISSUES AND THEY EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM WHILE MOVING THE CAR TO ANOTHER LOCATION. THEY WILL BE BRINGING THE CAR TO HONDA SERVICE FOR REVIEW. I AM UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH MY WIFE AND DAUGHTERS IN THE CAR. *TR
WE HAD JUST PULLED OFF OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN BLUFFTON SOUTH CAROLINA. STOPPED AT GUARD HOUSE AND PROCEEDED APPROX. 1/2 MILE TO STOP SIGN WHEN WE TRIED TO TURN LEFT WITHOUT WARNING THE (EPS) POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. WE DID NOT GET A WARNING LIGHT UNTIL AFTER THE STEERING STOPPED WORKING. YOU COULD NOT CONTROL THE STEERING, BUT LUCKY FOR US WE WERE TURNING INTO A PARKING AREA AND STOPPED THE CAR. WE GOT OUT THE OWNERS MANUAL AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AS SUGGESTED, WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE STEERING WAS STILL OUT AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CLOSEST HONDA DEALER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAD THIS HAPPEN. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN AUGUST, 2014. THE FIRST TIME THE SYSTEM DID RESET AFTER WE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. *TR
ON 11/22/14 I WAS DRIVING ON A SMALL RESIDENTIAL STREET GOING UNDER 15MPH APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET FROM THE TURN I WAS GOING TO BE MAKING. A RIGHT HAND TURN. I HEARD A BANG AND MY STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. I HIT THE CURB CAUSING MY RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE TO BLOW. THE STEERING WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND THE VSA LIGHT WAS ON. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OWNERS MANUAL AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN WHICH SHUT THE VSA LIGHT OFF AND THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY BUT MADE A TERRIBLE CLUNKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE STEERING RACK WAS BROKEN. NOW I AM 2 WEEKS INTO THIS THE DEALERSHIP IS STRUGGLING TO GET THE CAR FIXED, HONDA HAS NOT YET RETURNED MY CALL SO NOT SURE THEY WILL WARRANTY THE CAR, I'M PAYING FOR INSURANCE ON A RENTAL AND WONDER IF MY HONDA IS EVEN A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. IT WAS A MAIN ROAD THAT WAS RECENTLY REPAVED. IT IS A MAIN ROAD. IT IS ASPHALT. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT. IT HAD RAINED ALL DAY BUT WAS NOT RAINING AT THE TIME OF CRASH. THERE IS TRAFFIC ON THIS MAIN ROAD SO I WAS GOING ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WENT RIGHT. I HIT A PARKED CAR AND MY CAR FLIPPED OVER. I WAS CUT OUT OF THE CAR AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE CUTS AND BRUISES BUT I AM OTHERWISE OK. THE AIRBAGS WORKED. WHAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT ARE THE TIRES. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT GOODYEAR EAGLES. THE BEST GUESS IS THE CAR HYDROPLANED. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET THESE TIRES TEND TO DO THIS. I CAN'T PROVE IT WAS THE TIRES BUT I WANT TO GO ON RECORD THAT I BELIEVE THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. THEY ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON MANY NEW CARS. BACKED OUT OF PARKING SPOT, UPON SHIFTING TO DRIVE, THE REAR VIEW CAMERA DISPLAY WAS BLACK EXCEPT FOR TWO RED LINES. DROVE ABOUT 60 FEET THEN UPON MAKING A RIGHT TURN I REALIZED THERE WAS NO THROTTLE RESPONSE. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO OPERATE. REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE THROTTLE THEN REAPPLIED MY FOOT AND THE ENGINE WAS THEN RESPONSIVE TO THE THROTTLE. THE DISTANCE WAS APPROX. 20 FEET AND THE TIME 10 SECONDS THAT THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND TO THE THROTTLE. THIS CAR HAS MANY INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, BUT THIS PROBLEM COULD BE VERY SERIOUS IN TRAFFIC. *TR

THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED IMMEDIATE AND WITHOUT WARNING. AS I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER IT NORMALIZED AND THEN WITHOUT WARNING GOT VERY STIFF.
