WHILE DRIVING ALONE INTO A MARKED SPACE IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT, MY FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE AND HIT THE ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE THEN ACCELERATED INTO THE CONCRETE BASE OF A LIGHT POLE. IMMEDIATELY, THE VEHICLE BUMPER CRUMPLED, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HOOD CRUMPLED, AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ACTIVATED. THERE WAS NO ONE EXCEPT MYSELF IN THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT ACTIVATE. AT THIS DATE, NOVEMBER 10, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
DURING LOW SPEED DRIVING (APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MPH) AND SQUEAKING NOISE WAS EMITTING FROM THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. PRIOR TO THIS, THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT, ANTI LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT, ANTI SKID WARNING LIGHT, ALL ILLUMINATED. WHEN THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED AT DCH HONDA, TEMECULA IT WAS REPORTED THAT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARING WAS BROKEN / FALLING APART. IT WAS STATED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE BEARING WAS REPLACED AND THAT THIS WAS COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS NOTIFICATION (TECHNICAL BULLETINS, RECALLS) ON THIS ISSUE. DRIVERS BEWARE. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT "PLAY" IN THE REAR WHEEL WHILE ATTACHED TO THE HUB. IF THE BEARING CAME COMPLETELY UNDONE, THE WHEEL COULD COME OFF WHILE DRIVING. *TR
THESE SEATS HAVE CAUSED SO MUCH PAIN THAT I NOW HAVE TO GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR FOR WEEKLY TREATMENT. THE CAR IS KILLING ME, I'M HAVING TO TAKE PAIN PILLS AND CAN'T DRIVE VERY LONG WITHOUT PAIN. IF I WOULDN'T LOOSE SO MUCH MONEY I WOULD TRADE THE CAR. *TR
I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. THERE ARE 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR, AND THIS IS MY 3RD SET OF BRAKES, AND SECOND SET OF ROTORS TO BE REPLACED. I'VE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE ISSUE LOOKED AT, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. I BROUGHT IT INTO A LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE CENTER FOR A SECOND LOOK, AS THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING, AND FELT LIKE WOBBLING WHEN SLOWING. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES AND THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT ROTOR. THERE WAS A LITTLE WOBBLING AND SQUEALING AFTER THE REPAIR, BUT THE GRINDING STOPPED. I BROUGHT IT UP TO THE MECHANIC, AND HE SAID IT WAS EXPECTED FROM NEW BRAKES. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP 6 MONTHS LATER BECAUSE THE WOBBLING STARTED GETTING WORSE, AND THE GRINDING STARTED AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE BRAKES WERE WORN COMPLETELY ON BOTH SIDES IN THE FRONT, AND THE ROTORS WERE GOUGED.
I WENT TO PULL MY VISOR DOWN AND I HEARD A LOUD CRACK NOISE FROM THE VISOR. THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP ANYMORE, JUST HANGS ABOUT 2-3" FROM THE CEILING OF THE CAR. WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY EVEN IF IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD. *TR
THE POWER STEERING JUST STOPPED WORKING AS THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. IT ALSO STALLED OUT AND WAS HARD TO START BACK UP. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER WHERE THE FIX WAS THE REPAIR OF THE "TORQUE ANGLE SENSOR AND HARNESS." *TR
THE POWER STEERING FAILED LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WASN'T ABLE TO STEER. WAS ABLE TO PARK AND RESTART CAR AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERS THEY REPLACED THE STEERING RACK. CAR WAS AT DEALERS FOR 6 DAYS. *TR
I CONTACTED POHANKA HONDA IN SALISBURY MARYLAND ABOUT THE DANGER OF THE AIR BAG EXPLODING AND CAUSING INJURY TO ME OR MY FAMILY. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BUT IT WAS REGIONAL AND THIS AREA AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THEY REFERRED ME TO HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA AND I WAS TOLD THAT IF I WANTED TO CHECK OUT MY AIRBAG I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE INSPECTION. I DISAGREE BECAUSE THIS REGION BECOMES HOT AND THE CONDITIONS CAN BE AS HUMID AS FLORIDA OR OTHER SOUTHERN STATES. IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. I DO NOT THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE INSPECTION OR PUT MY FAMILY IN DANGER. *TR
2013 HONDA ACCORD SPORT HAS HAD ITS TRUNK OPEN BY ITSELF ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE TRUNK HAS NEVER OPENED ON IT OWN WHILE IN MOTION BUT WHEN IT IS PARKED. IT IS ONLY DISCOVERED WHEN I WALK BACK TO THE CAR AND SEE THE TRUNK CRACKED OPEN. THIS IS A SECURITY/SAFETY BREACH IN MY CASE AS I SOMETIMES WILL KEEP FIREARMS IN THE SECURITY OF THE TRUNK LEADING TO THE POTENTIAL OF STOLEN FIREARMS FROM AN OPEN TRUNK. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE TRUNK RANDOMLY OPENING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 3 TIMES THROUGHOUT THE OWNERSHIP OF THE CAR. *TR
IN TWO INCIDENT THAT STEERING WHEEL STOP WORKING: LAST WEEK WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TRIED TO DRIVE IT AND TODAY (OCT 7, 2014) WHILE I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT WORKING AND I HAD TO STOP AND SWITCH THE ENGINE OFF AND AFTER 2 MINUTES START THE CAR AND IT WAS FINE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN FARRIS RD AT ~40 MPH THE EPS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THIS HAPPENED ON THE WAY BACK FROM MY PREGNANT WIFE'S DOCTOR APPOINTMENT. WE PULLED OVER TO THE NEAREST EMPTY PARKING LOT AND READ THE MANUAL. WE HADN'T BEEN DOING ANY OF THE THINGS THE MANUAL SAID WOULD CAUSE THIS. OVER THE NEXT 10 MILES THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES. ONCE WHILE SITTING STILL IN A DRIVE THROUGH LINE. WE CALLED OUR HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THE OFFERED TO LET US SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND RECEIVE A SHUTTLERIDE HOME. MY WIFE GOT US SLIGHTLY BETTER SERVICE WITH A FACEBOOK POST AND THEY OFFERED TO LOOK AT OUR CAR THAT DAY AND COMPED US A RENTAL CAR UNDER WARRANTY. SEVERAL HOURS LATER WE RECEIVED A CALL THAT AFTER SPEAKING WITH THEIR TECH SUPPORT THEY WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE RACK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE FAILURE HAD RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
2013 HONDA ACCORD CONSUMER CONCERNED ABOUT A/C CONDENSER BEING VULNERABLE FOR DAMAGE *CN THE CONSUMER STATED A ROCK DAMAGED THE A/C CONDENSER. *JB
THE VEHICLE STEERING SIMPLY 'SHUT-DOWN', OR LOCKED-UP OUT OF NOWHERE. IT APPEARS THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM SIMPLY FAILED. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE STEERING BY BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A FULL STOP IN ORDER TO TURN IT OFF AND THEN RESTART IT... AS THOUGH I WERE REBOOTING A CRASHED COMPUTER! THE ISSUE REPEATED ITSELF THREE TIMES THE NEXT DAY, ONCE WHILE DRIVING AT FULL SPEED ON A PUBLIC STREET. WE RESOLVED TO STOP DRIVING IT, BUT BY REFLEX I TOOK IT OUT THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE DAY ONLY TO HAVE THE ISSUE RECUR TWICE, THANKFULLY NONE OF THESE FAILURES OCCURRED WHILE WE WERE EXECUTING A TURN, OTHERWISE WE MAY HAVE CRASHED INTO SOMETHING OR SOMEONE, AS SOME OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS DESCRIBE. I HAVE NOW PUT THE VEHICLE INTO STORAGE UNTIL HONDA ADDRESSES THE ISSUE DEFINITIVELY, AS OTHERS DESCRIBE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSES ACROSS THE BOARD, WITH VIRTUALLY ALL ADMITTING THE ISSUE WAS UNRESOLVED, EVEN AFTER REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DIAGNOSED COMPONENT(S). WHETHER I SIMPLY HAVE A LEMON, OR THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE IN THE MAKING, I DO NOT YET KNOW, BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE RENDERING THE VEHICLE TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. *TR
(2014)TIRE PRESSURE TURNED ON .. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THE TIRE SIDE WALL WAS ALREADY DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. 2ND INCIDENT, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT TURNED ON AT 730AM ON SEPT 23,2015 ..WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE SEEN AT 8AM THEY SAID THE SIDE TIRE WALL WAS DAMAGE AND NEEDED TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE. IF TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE NOTIFIED PROPERLY THERE WOULD BE NO NEED TO PURCHASE TIRES
IT'S BEEN OVER 2 MOTHS AND 5 VISIT TO DEALER STILL GOT SAME PROBLEM CAR IS HONDA ACCORD 2013 AND IT'S SMART START CAR WON'T START SOMETIMES IT TAKES 20 MIN 40-50 TRY TO START THE CAR LOST OF SAME YEAR HONDA OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME EXACT PROBLEM YOU CAN SEE IT IN GOOGLE SEARCH OR YOUTUBE DEALER ALWAYS TOLD US THE CAR GOT NO PROBLEM BUT WERE HAVING SAME PROBLEM 2-3 TIMES A DAY WE GET STUCK EVERY WHERE WE GO SINCE CAR DOES NOT START. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN AND GET OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. I PULLED INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, I PUT THE CAR BACK IN GEAR AND THE POWER STEERING WAS STILL OUT, BUT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY, I STARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. THE STEER WHEEL HAS JERKED TO THE LEFT/RIGHT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE POWER STEERING WHEN COMPLETELY OUT. I'VE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND AM WAITING FOR AN EXPLANATION. *TR
TRAVELED FROM BATON ROUGE TO DALLAS WITH A COLD AIR CONDITION AND ON THE WAY BACK HOME FROM DALLAS. ONCE I GOT TO OPELOUSAS NO COLD AIR, ONLY HEAT BLOWING FROM THE AC. RICHARDS HONDA DEALERSHIP IN BATON ROUGE CLAIMS THAT A ROCK STRUCK MY CONDENSER, CAUSED THE LEAK AND THE ROAD DEBRIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY CAR WILL BE A YEAR OLD FROM A NEW PURCHASE NEXT MONTH, I TRAVEL IN MY CAR EVERYDAY TO WORK AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR IN NEARLY 30K MILES, UNTIL NOW. DEALER COST $530. HONDA SHOULD PROVIDE A PROTECTOR ON CONDENSERS TO KEEP THEIR REPUTATION REGARDING A RELIABLE AUTOMOBILE, PAY 100% OF THE FEES OR AT LEAST 75% AS HONDA SHOULD RECTIFY THIS ONGOING PROBLEM BY OFFERING A PROTECTOR AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMERS AND IMMEDIATELY REPAIRING THE CONDENSER AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER WITHIN THEIR FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, MINIMUM. IT'S EXTREMELY HOT IN LOUISIANA AND I NEED MY AIR CONDITION TO WORK PROPERLY WHILE I TRAVEL TO WORK AND PAY MY MONTHLY NOTE ON TIME. I EXPECT THIS AC TO LAST MUCH LONGER THAN 11 MONTHS AND NEARLY 30,000 MILES. *TR
ON JAN 24TH, 2013 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR A PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STEERING. THE EPS (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING) SYSTEM INDICATOR CAME ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES AND LOST POWER STEERING DURING THOSE TIMES. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM 3 TIMES. ON FEB 5TH, 2013 THE INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE FIXED. THEN ON AUG 21ST, 2014 THE POWER STEER PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. I RETURNED TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND HONDA TRIED AGAIN TO FIX THE INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING PROBLEM. ON AUG 22ND, I DROVE MY HONDA ACCORD OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO TURN AROUND AND BRING IT BACK BECAUSE THE CARS' EPS (ELECTRIC POWER STEERING) SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF AGAIN AND I LOST POWER STEERING DURING THAT TIME. I'M NOW WAITING TO SEE IF THE INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING PROBLEM CAN BE FOUND AND FIXED. SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR THE SMART ENTRY SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT HAS TURNED ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT AN ADVERSE EFFECT THAT I KNOW OF. I'M NOW EVEN MORE DISGUSTED WITH HONDA AND I PLAN TO DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO WARN OTHERS. MY AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED COOLING ON FRI, 8/22/2014 AFTER LEAVING WORK. AFTER I RETURNED HOME FROM A SWELTERING 45 MILE COMMUTE, I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON SAT, 8/23. AS MY 2013 CERTIFIED HONDA ACCORD WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY (I PURCHASED 74 DAYS EARLY), I WAS SURE THE PROBLEM WOULD BE COVERED @NO COST TO ME. I HAD EVEN PURCHASED HONDA''S EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 6/10 EVEN THOUGH IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED REPAIR PROBLEMS WITH MY PURCHASES IN THE PAST. I WAS TOLD ROAD DEBRIS HAD DAMAGED THE CONDENSER DUE TO ITS LACK OF PROTECTION, ALL OF THE FREON LEAKED OUT, THE CONDENSER WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONDENSER COST WAS $168.00 WHILE WITH INSTALLATION COST WAS $400.99! AFTER ALL OF MY RESEARCH ONLINE IT APPEARS THIS IS A 'WIDE-SPREAD DESIGN PROBLEM AND HONDA IS ACTUALLY MAKING MONEY OFF OF THE DEFECT BY CHARGING OUTRAGEOUS SERVICE FEES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DISGUSTS ME TO THINK THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND AGAIN! *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME ON THE HIGHWAY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FROZE,AND LIGHT CAME ON . WAS ABLE WITH GREAT FORCE, TO MAKE IT HOME. VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE! I WAS DRIVING AND WAS ABOUT TO TURN ON TO MY STREET AND MY POWER STEERING FAILED. IT BECAME REALLY HARD TO TURN. IF THERE WAS A CAR PARKED I WOULD HAVE HIT THAT CAR. I PARKED SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT SEEM FINE TILL I TURNED THE STEERING AND AS SOON AS I DID IT DID THE SAME EXACT THINGS. HONDA REPLACED THE PART. BUT ITS REALLY DANGEROUS AND I WORRY IF OR WHEN IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX. 25 MPH, SUDDENLY THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED AND POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. AS I WAS ONLY A COUPLE OF BLOCKS FROM HOME, I WAS ABLE TO HARD STEER IT HOME. SPOUSE TURNED ENGINE OFF, STARTED IT BACK UP AND POWER STEERING RESET. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. DID DIAGNOSTIC AND DETERMINED : DIAGNOSE EPS SYSTEM PER ISIS. FOUND FAULTY TORQUE SENSOR. REPLACE COMPLETE POWER STEERING RACK AND PERFORM ALIGNMENT. AFTER READING OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, I AM HOPEFUL THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
2013 HONDA ACCORD (20K MILES) ISSUE: DEFECTIVE RACK-N-PINION I ATTEMPTED TO PUT MY ACCORD IN REVERSE AND REALIZED THAT I WASN'T ABLE TO STEER OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. IT APPEARED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP OR SOMETHING WAS HOLDING ME FROM BACKING UP. I ALSO NOTICED AN ORANGE STEERING WHEEL INDICATOR ON MY DASH. (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT MY VEHICLE IS IN GREAT CONDITION. I'VE HAVE IT FOR OVER A YEAR AND I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN). I ATTEMPTED TO START MY CAR A SECOND TIME. THIS TIME IT TURNED ON JUST AS BEFORE AND THE ORANGE INDICATOR LIGHT TURNED OFF. I FELT IT MAY HAVE JUST BEEN A FLUKE AND I BEGAN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. HOWEVER, NOT EVEN HALF-A-MILE DOWN FROM MY PARENTS? HOUSE MY ACCORD STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AGAIN! THIS TIME IT HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WHILE OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I COULD NOT MANEUVER MY VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. I JUST BARELY MANAGED TO ANGLE THE FRONT PART OF MY VEHICLE TO THE EDGE OF A CURB WHILE THE SECOND HALF OF THE CAR WAS STILL IN THE STREET. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS A DEFECTIVE ELECTRIC RACK-N-PINION WHICH CAUSED MY STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. I ASKED HIM IF THIS WAS A RECALL, OR VEHICLE MALFUNCTION AND HE COULDN'T COMPLETELY 100% PROVIDE ME WITH AN EXPLANATION. THE DEALER HAD CHANGED THE STANDARD 18 IN WHEELS TO 19'S AND THE STANDARD GOOD YEAR TIRES TO BRIVERY DGESTONE TURANZA EL 400 02'S. AFTER I HAD PUT ABOUT 3,500 MILES ON THE CAR, A SMALL STAPLE (1/16 IN DEEP) PUNCTURED ONE TIRE JUST BETWEEN THE WALL AND THE TREAD,AND THE WALL FAILED AND IT RAN FLAT. AT THIS CURRENT MOMENT MY CAR IS LESS THEN 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS LESS THEN 400 MILES ON IT AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO SUCH A NEW CAR WITH SO LITTLE MILES ON IT. FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT I GOOGLED MY CAR TO SEE IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND LORD BEHOLD I WAS NOT. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE SOME RESULTING IN SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. BUT MOST OF THE CARS IN THOSE INCIDENTS THAT I COULD SEE HAD ABOUT 20K TO 30K MILES ON THEM AND MINE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 1K ON IT YET. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON FLORIDA TURNPIKE AT APPROX 65 MPH, I FIRST FELT A SUBTLE CHANGE IN THE TIRES/TRACTION OF THE CAR, SO I LOOK AT THE DASH TO SEE IF I HAD A LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR, NOTHING. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS, AND I FELT A SLIGHT SWERVE, THEN I SAW "EPS!" INDICATOR ON THE DASH. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP, WITH NO PLAY LEFT TO RIGHT AT ALL! COMPLETELY STIFF. I LET THE CAR CONTINUE TO COAST BECAUSE I WAS SCARED TO APPLY THE BRAKES IF IT WOULD MAKE IT WORSE, THANK GOD NO ONE REAR ENDED ME, AND AS THE ROAD CURVED, I RAN OFF INTO THE GRASSY MEDIAN OF AN EXIT RAMP AND NOTHING WAS IN MY PATH. I LOOKED UP WHAT EPS! WAS, AND THE OWNERS MANUAL SUGGESTED TO RESTART THE CAR. UPON RESTARTING, THE INDICATOR WAS GONE. THE CAR IS BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR, NOT KNOWING IF THIS CAN HAPPEN AGAIN, AND IF MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE SAFE IN THIS CAR. *TR
I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE (MAYBE 200 MILES). FROM THE TIME I BOUGHT IT OR VERY SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT WAS LIT ON THE DASHBOARD. I THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL BECAUSE IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR. THEN I STARTED FOCUSING ON IT AND NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES IT WASN'T ON BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT WAS. I INQUIRED ABOUT IT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE 5,000 MILE OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS FAULTY WIRING AND THE AIR BAG UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
I RECENTLY HAD A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD REGARDING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A GARDEN NURSERY I APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THEY DID NOT RESPOND IN ANYWAY, THE ENGINE THEN REVVED UP MAKING A LOUD NOISE, THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD OVER SEVERAL RAILROAD TIE BARRIERS, BUSHES, HIT A TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED IN THE LOT AND CAME TO REST IN A MULCH PILE. LUCKILY THE TRUCK AND MULCH STOPPED THE CAR AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN IT OFF. THERE IS CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF MY CAR AND THE PROPERTY OF THE NURSERY. THIS HAPPENED ON MAY 8, 2014 AT 5:00 PM. IT WAS A GRAVEL PARKING LOT, DRY SUNNY DAY. THIS HONDA WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2013 AND IS A 4CYL WITH CVT TRANSMISSION AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 13,000 MILES. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT SITS NOW WAITING FOR A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. IT WAS A BLESSING THAT NO ONE WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF MY CAR. MUCH OF MY DECISION TO PURCHASE A HONDA WAS BECAUSE OF RELIABILITY AND SAFETY; HOWEVER, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS MY FIRST HONDA AND I AM THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND ALARMED AFTER THIS INCIDENT. *TR
PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, STOPPED BEFORE I COULD PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD INTO A BRICK WALL BEFORE STOPPING. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT ON 4/28/14 THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED DUE TO A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD AFTER THIS THE LDW (LANE WARNING DEVICE) DIDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. 4/30/14 ANOTHER WINDSHIELD WAS INSTALLED AND THE LDW DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. I WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE CAMERA ON THE REAR VIEW MIRROR RECALIBRATED, BEFORE I COULD HAVE THIS SERVICE PERFORMED THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I BOUGHT MY 2013 ACCORD SPORT NEW. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY I NOTICED THAT AFTER I START IT AND PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE. SLIGHT PRESS OF THE ACCELERATION PEDAL AND SLOWLY IT WOULD MOVE FORWARD, HOWEVER WITHIN APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE THE ACCELERATION PEDAL PRESS AND THE VEHICLE MOVING WOULD WORK AS THEY SHOULD. SINCE I ONLY CONSIDERED THIS AN INCONVENIENCE, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS NOT " NORMAL", I IGNORED THE ISSUE. IN MID 2014, WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, IN LOS ANGELES, THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THE DASHBOARD WENT COMPLETELY OUT, ONLY TO FLICKER BACK TO LIFE WITHIN THE NEXT TWO SECONDS. A FEW MONTHS AFTER, WITH NO WARNING AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON, WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, I DISCOVERED IT TO BE COMPLETELY DEAD. NO CLICKS, NO FLICKERING LIGHTS. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AT ABOUT 25K MILES. OVER THE NEXT YEAR, THE SUDDEN ELECTRICAL SHORT, WHERE THE DASHBOARD ELECTRONICS AND EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL ON THE CAR WOULD TURN OFF SUDDENLY, CONTINUED. EVERY TWO MONTHS ON AVERAGE I WOULD EXPERIENCE AN EPISODE, SOME WHILE DRIVING, SOME WHEN I WAS STATIONARY, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING FOR COUPLE OF MINUTES. BEGINNING OF 2016, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, AGAIN NO SIGN OF LIFE, OUT OF THE BLUE. I JUMP STARTED IT, HAD IT CHECKED, NO APPARENT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES WITH THE BATTERY. END OF MARCH 2016, SAME PROBLEM. I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE, IT TURNED THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ON, THEN IT DIED...NO CLICKS, NO LIGHTS FLICKERING. I HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC, COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.I LIKED WHAT HONDA USED TO REPRESENT, I AM NOT SURE ANYMORE ABOUT ITS RELIABILITY.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,987 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,100.
