On a daily or several days/wk basis, either 1) the "Navigation Screen" will freeze in displaying the map the driver is using OR 2) both the "Audio/Information Screen" & the "Navigation Screen" will go blank (displaying only a solid black screen). In problem #1, the driver is distracted & disrupted from continually viewing the road to first confirm whether the map image is frozen as suspected (e.g., pressing buttons). In both Problems #1 & #2, the driver is further distracted & disrupted from continually viewing the road in order to try to reset the system (e.g., pressing buttons, disconnecting & reconnecting a smartphone). Finally, in both Problems #1 & #2, if a soft reset is not successful, in order to regain navigational functionality, the driver must either a) if at a stop sign/light or b) pull off the roadway to (e.g., on to a shoulder) turn the vehicle off & on again to trigger a hard reset.
While driving the car doing 40mph with foot on gas it slammed into a screeching stop all by itself! While still in drive!! No foot on the brake! So scary!! No indicator lights came on.
Radio/audio causing a loud static un bearable noise that won’t turn off even when Turing the radio off an volume all the way down. My concern here is it’s very hard to focus on driving on the road when this occurs since I’m not able to hear anything around me or able to receive phone calls or emergency calls since it is basically impossible to do anything at all until i completely stop somewhere an shut the car completely off. I think not being able to hear traffic around me for example someone honking or a police car, fire truck, ambulance is a real big Hazard. I see a lot of people online that are having the same issue so that’s why I’m here reporting this. I think it def should be reviewed as a hazard safety concern this type of thing can potential cause more trouble on the road for those who suffer from the same issue an other individuals on the road. I have a video of this issue but I am not able to upload it here if I can email the video that would be great.
1. The steering system is malfunctioning. My steering is loose and choppy when returning to the center. It feels as if my tires are gliding/skating across the road. 2. I feel like I don't have control of my car. 3. The dealers claim nothing is wrong with my car. 4. Yes, it has been inspected by Honda East and Kings Performance Honda and both dealerships claim there is no issue. 5. The issue first appeared over a month ago and there were no warnings, sounds, or messages only a feeling through the steering wheel/column.
BACKUP CAMERA LOCATED IN REAR TRUNK LID FAILED. MILEAGE UNDER 10,000 MI. DEALER HAS NO RECALL FOR 2016 ACCORD SEDAN MODEL. THIS ITEM. AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM DIM SYSTEM FAILED WITHIN FIRST THREE MONTHS OF VEHICLE OWNERSHIP.
The ADAS features of my vehicle have been intermittently functional due to a single camera component failing. This has cause unpredictable braking behavior when the car is driven, as the car's emergency braking function abruptly slow the vehicle on some occasions, but not brake the vehicle on other outings. Additionally, the component failure has caused several dependent MILs to illuminate most times the vehicle is driven, usurping other important MIL notifications such as unrelated component failures and maintenance alerts. The ADAS MIL alerts were not present before the component failure. These issues first started 15 months ago, but I've been informed that the necessary replacement component (multipurpose camera) has been backordered the entire time.

Honda 2016 EX with 74,000, failure of the CTV transition. Slippage while driving. No warning lights for transmission failure. Transmission fluid change per maintenance Manual. Dealership confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced.
Paint peeling where roof meets rear window in rain/water track
My car started making a piercing static noise that is so loud and you can’t do anything to turn it down and it is very hard to drive and concentrate with this noise. I have seen other cars recalled for this issue but they are the larger cars. My car has the same issue but they will do nothing for me.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated while the gear shifter was in reverse, the vehicle failed to reverse. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
My 2016 Honda Accord is failing start. I started my car is and it is making grinding noise and want start. I had this problem before and had to replace the starter in 2019. I have not warning on my dashboard when trying to start my car. I just want crank, replacing a starter every 2 years is unacceptable. I research this issue and this is an issue for ignition switch thousand of people is having the same issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that for the past three months at start-up there was a grinding sound coming from the starter. The contact stated that occasionally the vehicle would not start or needed several attempts before the vehicle started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic confirmed a failure with the starter and linked the failure to TSB: 16-002. The contact was concerned that he would be far away from his residence and not able to start the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
7 year old child sitting behind father when vehicle was hit from behind causing intrusion into the vehicle pushing the rear seat area forward; from the impact, driver's seatback yielded/failed significantly into the child's rear seating position area causing permanent catastrophic brain injuries to the child. Vehicle is currently being stored and preserved for evidence at SAFE, 6775 Hollister Ave., Goleta, CA 93117. Inspections of the vehicle are anticipated in the future.
The car drifts to the left and to the right after a few seconds. It has been aligned with all 4 tires balanced and rotated twice but the car will drift within a few seconds. The dealership wants to blame road crown for this and nothing with the steering of the car.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while turning on the vehicle, the engine started but then turned off by itself however, the radio and AC remained on. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.
Engine ratlles for about 1-2 sec during cold startup. Car has 94000 miles.
I have brought the vehicle to the dealer as well as several auto body specialists. The paint is bubbling and peeling on the driver's side door, around the gas cap and on the frame around the trunk. Several online reports have been posted online and several other models from Honda have had extended recalls on their paint warranty. The same extension should be applied to the Honda Accord and Honda should be responsible for taking corrective actions as further failure of the paint to adhere will cause significant body damage, especially for owners like me who live in an area who use salt to treat their roads.
Driver side Day Running Light doesn’t work. A lot of owners have this problem. Not safe at all. Honda should recall that to fix that problem.
In 2021, Its been told my starter is beginning to fail. Takes multiple attempts to start car. Does not happen every start up, and seem to not happen when taken in for diagnosis. Mechanic says until it does it everyday don't worry about. Its becoming more frequent, and now the car runs loud and hard. Had a previous issue and had both catalyst converters, and since then its been problem after problem.
TRAVELLING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH. CAR STARTED TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT, STARTED TO TRY AND EASE BACK RIGHT INTO THE LANE AND CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL RIGHT AND OFF THE ROAD INTO THE WOODS ON THE SIDE OF INTERSTATE AND INTO TREES.
I WAS DRIVING APPROX 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE HWY WHEN I ENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL. SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE CAR BEGAN BRAKING. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR WOULDN'T DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE INTERSTATE. ONLY AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING WAS I ABLE TO DRIVE.
Vehicle pulls to the right randomly, sometimes hard, sometimes gently. Vehicle will also pull harder right when braking randomly. Sometimes vehicle will pull left when braking. Dealer has aligned the vehicle 3 times in a month no change. Still having same issue. Dealer tried to blame the brand new Michelin tires. I know there are steering issues with 2013-2015 Accords please consider adding 2016 Accords to this also. They also checked the brakes and suspension and say all that is good. I know I am not the only 2016 Accord owner complaining about this issue. Accord forums confirm this. Please investigate this. Thank you.
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FREEZING FREEZES OR GOES BLANK WHILE USING IPHONE TO NAVIGATE. OCCURS WITH BOTH GOOGLE AND APPLE MAPS. RESOLVING OFTEN REQUIRES WAITING 10 PLUS MINUTES OR TURNING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT.
WHILE PARKING IN A RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOT AT VERY LOW SPEEDS, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND BRAKING DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STOPPED ONLY BECAUSE IT HIT ANOTHER PARKED CAR. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, BOTH A AAA REPAIR SHOP AND A HONDA DEALERSHIP EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AFTER THE OWNER COMPLAINED ABOUT TWO PREVIOUS SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENTS. THE AAA SHOP DROVE THE VEHICLE, FOUND NOTHING WRONG, AND TOWED THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE FIRST SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT OCCURRED IN THE SAME RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOT AS THE THIRD SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT, BUT BRAKING STOPPED THE CAR THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND SUDDEN ACCELERATION INCIDENT HAPPENED AT A STOPLIGHT, AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL PUSH CAUSED AN UNUSUAL SURGE IN SPEED, BUT BRAKING STOPPED THE CAR. THE THIRD INCIDENT OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION WAS NOT STOPPED BY THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES, RATHER BY CRASHING INTO ANOTHER PARKED CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A GRASSY MEDIAN.
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS LED STRIP NOT WORKING OR IT APPEARS TO BLOW OUT
LED DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHT HAVE GONE OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS MANY OTHER CARS THE DRLS TURN OFF BEFORE THE TURN SIGNAL IS INDICATED. CAN GIVE OTHER DRIVERS FALSE INDICATION OF TURNING POSSIBLY.
MY 2016 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 58,000 MILES.I LIVE IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA AND DRIVING WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING CAN BE VERY STRESSFUL AND HARMFUL TO SENIORS. I AM OVER 60 WITH MANY CO MORBIDITIES.
WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND START BACKING UP, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND IT'S LIKE THE CAR KILLS AND TURNS ON AGAIN WHILE STILL IN MOTION. THE DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED MY WINDOW WAS GOING UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN AND MY CAR DIDN'T WANT TO LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE.
IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT STARTED AND DRIVEN AT LEAST EVERY SECOND DAY. A NO START CONDITION RESULTS. BATTERY IS NEW, THE SECOND ONE FROM HONDA DEALER. CRANK/STARTER SPEED VERY LETHARGIC, ALL CONDITIONS, REMOTE START INCLUDED. PURCHASED AN AFTER MARKET START BOOSTER TO RESOLVE DEAD BATTERY ISSUE. VEHICLE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY.
WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ON A TRIP TO HER RELATIVES HOUSE, OUT 2016 HONDA ACCORD TOURING MODEL'S AUTOMATIC BRAKING WARNING LIGHT AND ASSOCIATED APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES CAME ON AT LEAST 4 TIMES WITHIN A 9 MILE DRIVE. EACH TIME THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES NEAR THE CAR. I PLAN TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER THIS WEEK. I HAVE READ DOZENS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE HONDA COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM. I THINK A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE MAY BE NECESSARY.
BACK UP CAMERA DOESN'T WORK..SEEMS YEARS PRIOR TO AND AFTER 2016. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED
MY BACKUP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET AN EXTERIOR REPLACEMENT PART. IT WORKED FINE WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF. NOW THE SCREEN IS COMPLETELY BLACK WHEN YOU ARE IN REVERSE BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE THE BACKUP CAMERA LINES. THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME $140 TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. SOMEBODY POSTED THIS EXACT COMPLAINT IN JULY 2020. THEY STATED THAT THE CAMERA HOUSING MIGHT BE LETTING CONDENSATION AND WATER INSIDE, CAUSING IT TO SHORT OUT. THERE ARE TWO ADDITIONAL COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE FROM MARCH 2020, ONE IN FEBRUARY 2020, AND ONE IN JANUARY 2020. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED.
In late 2019 I noticed paint peeling around multiple areas of the car namely on the driver side, including the driver‘s door frame around the gas cap along the trim of the windshield and in areas on the trunk. I called Honda many times including emails include that included pictures of the areas. A local Honda dealership finally agreed to fix the issues of which they fixed all but one, the area around the gas cap in January 2021 within a year. The paint began to peel again in the exact same locations and they refused to fix it. I have sent multiple inquiries two Honda asking for it to be repair been denied the pictures below are the most recent photos, but I have pictures dating back over seven years of the issue if needed.
FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES STARTING UP. IT RARELY STARTS ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. IT USUALLY STARTS ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT. HOWEVER, TODAY I DISCOVERED THIS SITE AND REALIZED MANY OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. HAVE THERE BEEN RESOLUTIONS FOR ANYONE? IF SO, WHAT WAS THE RESOLUTION?
CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATES WITHOUT FOOT BEING ON ACCELERATOR. BRAKING DOES NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN LAST TWO YEARS WITH DAMAGE TO FRONT OF VEHICLE TIMES TWO. METALLIC SCRAPING NOISE IN ALL FOUR WHEELS, MOST NOTICEABLE AT LOW SPEEDS, IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. DEALER CLAIMS THIS IS DUE TO CONTINENTAL TIRES, THAT CAME NEW WITH THE CAR. DEALER CLAIMS THIS CANNOT BE REPAIRED, AND WILL NOT REPLACE THE TIRES.
MY FUEL PUMP HAD PROBLEMS. THE AUTO MECHANIC HAD TO REPLACE THE NEW ONE. MY CAR HAD STALL SOMETIMES AND THE MECHANIC CHECKED IT WAS FUEL PUMP DEFECTED.

THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEPAULA CHEVROLET (785 CENTRAL AVE, ALBANY, NY 12206) WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
I JUST REPLACE THE BATTERY FOR THE 3RD TIME ON 9/19/2020. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR A CAR 4 YEARS OLD
HELLO, GOOD MORNING, I WANT TO MAKE A COMPLAINT, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP ME. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR WAS THAT I BOUGHT IT AT A MAJOR WORLD DEALERSHIP IN LONG ISLAND CITY, WHICH THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAR DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR TOTAL LOSS REPORT, WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE A LIE AFTER A FEW MONTHS WITH THE CAR. I NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAS TOTAL DAMAGE. HEY, IT EVEN HAS PART FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. I'VE TRIED TO GET HIM TO HELP ME, BUT HE SAYS IT DOESN'T HAVE TO DO WITH THE CAR ANYMORE. THEY ALSO CHARGED ME A GUARANTEE OF 3,000 DOLLARS AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO COVER WHAT THE VEHICLE HAS IN CONCLUSION; THE CAR HAS A DESTABILIZING REAR RUBBER, THE PART OF THE TRUNK ENTERS THE WATER, THE DOORS ON THE LEFT SIDE DO NOT BELONG TO THE SAME VIN NUMBER OF THE VEHICLE AND A NO NUMBER OF THING. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY VEHICLE STARTED STALLING, THEN IT SIMPLY LOST ALL FORCE AND WOULD NOT GO. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED AND UPON INSPECTION IT RESULTED WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VENICE IS NOT THAT OLD TO HAVE THAT KIND OF ISSUE, AND A CO-WORKER OF MINE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR VEHICLE WHICH IS ALSO A 2016 HONDA ACCORD. I DID SOME RESEARCH IN SOME FORUMS AND IT SEEMED THAT MANY PEOPLE WERE REPORTING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE FUEL PUMP WITH MODELS BETWEEN 2015 THROUGH 2019.
MY CAR MAKES THIS GRINDING NOISE BEFORE STARTING, I'VE REPLACE THE BATTERY TWICE (2018,2020) AND THE STARTER JUNE 2020. MY CAR IS BACK MAKING THE SAME GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. VEHICLE MAKES A MILD TO MODERATE NOISE FROM THE FRONT WHEEL WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED. THE NOISE CAN BE CHARACTERIZED AS SOMETHING RUBBING TOGETHER. IT SHOULD LIKE METAL ON METAL. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE TWO WEEKS AGO. I TOOK IT TO HONDA. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE REAR PADS AND ROTORS. I STILL HEAR IT AND AFTER A GOOGLE SEARCH I NOTICED HUNDREDS MORE PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT 2016-17 MODELS ARE AFFECTED WITH NO FIXES OR ACKNOWLEDGE BY HONDA. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. THANK YOU
FRONT RIGHT DRL, PART OF THE RUNNING LIGHT BURNED OUT, TO REPLACE THE RUNNING LIGHT YOU MUST REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH CAN BE UP TO $1500 OR MORE. MOST PEOPLE THAT PURCHASE A HONDA ACCORD CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR SOMETHING THAT BURNS OUT JUST LIKE ANY OTHER LIGHT FOR $1500. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, HONDA MOTOR CO. NEEDS TO RECALL AND REPAIR THIS MISTAKE FOR FREE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY.
