I ENGAGED ACC, THAT CONTROLS CRUISE CONTROL AND FRONTAL COLLISION ,MITIGATION SYSTEM, IN NORMAL TRAFFIC. WHILE TRAVELLING AT A SPEED OF 60 MILES PER HOUR, FOLLOWING ANOTHER CAR THE SPACING WAS CONTROLLED BY ACC. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME CONTINUED FORWARD, MY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED AND CAUSED ME TO GO FROM 60 MPH TO ABOUT 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE TO MY REAR HAD TO TAKE AN EVASIVE MANEUVER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I SAW NO ROAD DEBRIS. I PULLED OVER TO CHECK THE RADAR UNIT AND THE CAMERA SYSTEM. NO ISSUES OBSERVED. DURING THIS TRIP THE ACC WENT OFFLINE 3 TIMES DOWN TO SC AND TWICE IT FAILED DRIVING BACK HOME. EACH TIME I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND CAUSED ISSUES AS THE SYSTEM WAS TRYING TO MANAGE MY SPEED IN TRAFFIC.
THE CAR ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT HAPPENED ON MARCH 28 1:30PM WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY 24. THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING ON HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65 MILES PER HOUR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES WHEN I FIRST SMELLED SOMETHING IS BURNING. I THEN SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE FRONT SECTION OF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY CHANGED LANES TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO STOPPED THE CAR BY PRESSING THE FOOT BRAKE. THE CAR HAS SIGNIFICANTLY SLOW DOWN BUT IT WAS CONTINUED ROWING FORWARD. IT IS ON A SLIGHTLY DOWNHILL SLOP. AS SEEING SMOKE GETTING DARKER AND MORE STRONG, I PRESSED THE PARKING BRAKE AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT STOPPED. I THEN OPENED THE CAR DOOR AND ROWED OUT FROM THE CAR ONTO THE HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO CAR AND I WAS OK. I THEN CALLED 911 TO HAVE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. I HAVE 2 CONCERNS. MY CAR WAS JUST 16 MONTHS OLD WHEN IT HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON BEFORE IT HAPPENED AND WE HAVE FOLLOWED THE SERVICE SCHEDULE. HOW CAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS CAN HAPPEN TO A RELATIVELY NEW CAR AND PERFECT SERVICE RECORD. THE OTHER CONCERN IS WHEN THE CAR WAS ON FIRE, BOTH THE FOOT BREAK AND PARKING BREAK COULD NOT STOPPED THE CAR FROM MOVING. HAS THIS HAPPENED IN A UPHILL OR DOWN HILL SLOP, I WOULD BE AT GREAT RISK.
ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM ERROR POPPED UP, WHICH SUGGESTED TAKING THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP. THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR 2 DAYS AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START WITH THIS ERROR.
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY CAR'S AUTOMATIC COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM HAS ENGAGED WITHOUT NOTICE AND ANY REASON. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF MY CAR AND THE CAR BRAKED SUDDENLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING 45 MPH. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS THROWN FORWARD AND BACK WITH A JERK. SINCE THEN I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING LOWER NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN. I DISENGAGED THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM AND WILL TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS.
I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 4 MONTHS, AND THE CAR HAS COME TO A STOP THREE TIMES ON A BUSY STATE ROUTE AT RUSH HOUR, AND ONCE ON A STREET WHEN THE ROAD EXPANDED FROM ONE LANE TO TWO. I AM NOW TURNING THE CMBS OFF EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR. HOWEVER, THE BRAKING SYSTEM STILL ENGAGED! I MUST CROSS OVER A SOLID WHITE LINE TO ACCESS THE FREEWAY, AND I'M SCARED THAT THE CAR WILL STOP THERE EVERY DAY. ONE DAY WAS BRIGHT AND SUNNY OUT, ONE DAY WAS DARK BEFORE SUNRISE, ONE DAY WAS CLOUDY AND OVERCAST. IN ALL CASES, THE ROAD WAS STRAIGHT AND DRY.
AFTER CAR HAS WARMED UP, UPON A RESTART, GASOLINE ODOR COMES THROUGH AIR VENTS AS CAR IDLES. THIS IS ON THE 2.0L TURBO ENGINE IN THE SPORT MODEL.
ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE DASHBOARD START FLASHING AND THE MESSAGE WAS TAKE IT TO THE DEALER RIGHT NOW. THIS IS A 5TH TIME IT HAPPENS I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE MULTIPLEX CONTROLLED UNIT MODULE
2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 ABOUT 1800 MILES ON IT. THE CAR SHIFTS VERY ROUGH IN THE FIRST 3-4 GEARS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. ALSO HAPPENS AT TIMES WHEN ITS WARMER. ONE DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT WITH A HONDA APPROVED BREAK-IN PROCEDURE. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. IT HAS HAPPENED EACH DAY I DRIVE THE CAR SINCE I FIRST GOT IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO.
This vehicle has made sudden complete stops when there is no object or vehicle in front of it. This has occurred while being on a two lane road so no lane changing needed. It has made such a abrupt stop it has tightened the seat belts and sent a dog that was on the seat to the floor. I do alot of traveling on the highway and this could be very dangerous and cause a bad collision. Took to the dealer and was told nothing is perfect. I am very concerned of when it could happen.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR AND I APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE INITIAL BITE OF THE BRAKES FELLS LIKE THE CAR IS NOT STOPPING AS IT SHOULD AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL FURTHER THEN IT STATS STOPPING VERY HARD IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE IF I'M BRAKE CHECKING THE PERSON BEHIND ME, ALMOST GOT IN TO A COUPLE OF COLLISIONS BECAUSE OF IT AND ALSO ALMOST HAVE GOTTEN REAR END IT BECAUSE OF IT.
HONDA ACCORD 2018 LX. TWO INSTANCES OF CAR NOT STARTING WHEN STATIONARY. MOST RECENT INSTANCE OF ENGINE STALLING WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET.
WHILE DRIVING I RECEIVED ERROR CODE ADVISING THAT THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM HAD FAILED AND I SHOULD SEE A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. AFTER STOPPING AND TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE THE ERROR MESSAGE WENT AWAY AND SYSTEM WAS SHOWING TO BE FUNCTIONING. 2 WEEKS LATER WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD I GOT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. AGAIN, STOPPED AND STARTED THE VEHICLE AND MESSAGE GOES AWAY.
AUTOMATIC SENSOR BRAKING COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, THERE ARE NO OTHER CARS AROUND OR OBJECT. WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES COME ON AND THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD, THERE ARE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR TO THE SIDE. THE CAR JERKS AS THE BRAKES ARE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED, WHILE MY FOOT IS ON THE GAS PEDAL. THEN THE BRAKE IS RELEASED, THE WHOLE EVENT TAKES SECONDS. IN FACT IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN THERE HAS BEEN NO CARS IN SIGHT. IT HAS HAPPENED MOSTLY ON LOCAL ROADS GOING 45-50 MILES, BUT HAS OCCURED ON A HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 65 MPH. PURCHASED CAR IN 2018, STARTING HAPPENING IN 2019 AND CONTINUES UNTILL TODAY. WHEN I TOLD HONDA SERVICE, THEY SAID MAYBE THE SENSOR FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS DIRTY. I AM CONCERNED AN ACCIDENT WILL HAPPEN, IF THE BRAKES GO ON AND THERE IS NO CAR IN FRONT BUT A CAR IN BACK, ITS UNSAFE.
I GOT MY FIRST CRACK ON MY WINDSHIELD 2 WEEKS AFTER BUYING IT. NEVER HEARD THE ROCK HIT IT . IT WAS A VERY TEENY TINY NICK AND TURNED INTO A LONG CRACK ACROSS MY WINDSHIELD. THE SECOND CRACK WAS TODAY. A ROCK CAME FROM A SEMI TRUCK TRAVELING IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME AS I WAS PASSING ON THE LEFT SIDE LANE. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ROCK HIT. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED. I HAVE A LINE SPLITTING ACROSS MY PASSENGER SIDE AND NOW ANOTHER ALONG THE DRIVER SIDE. IT SEEMS THE GLASS IS MADE VERY POORLY. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKS EASILY. I HAVE OWNED A TON OF VEHICLES. ROCKS HIT THE WINDSHIELD FROM TIME TO TIME AND NEVER CAUSED A CRACK ACROSS MY WINDSHIELD. A NICK MAYBE YES, BUT NOT AN INSTANT CRACK THAT WILL NOT STOP.
DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. SUDDENLY, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND VEHICLE ABRUPTLY AND QUICKLY DECELERATED FROM 65 TO 20 MPH, FORCING ME TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, I RE-STARTED THE CAR A FEW MINUTES LATER AND DROVE TO THE NEXT EXIT A COUPLE MILES AHEAD AT A REDUCE SPEED. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE. THE HONDA DEALER IN ORCHARD PARK, NY ,WHERE THE CAR WAS TOWED, TOLD ME THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS EXTREMELY HIGH, AND CHANGED MY OIL TO BRING IT TO A NORMAL OIL LEVEL. THE DEALER FURTHER TOLD ME THAT THE BECAUSE I DRIVE SHORT TRIPS AND THE WEATHER HAS BEEN COLD THAT IS WHY GASOLINE IS GOING INTO THE OIL AND GIVING ME ENGINE TROUBLE ON MY NEW CAR. MY HONDA DEALER IN ROCHESTER, NY CONFIRMED THE SAME AND SAID TO DRIVE MY CAR A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME TO HELP AVOID THIS ISSUE. MY DRIVING HABITS AS A STUDENT LIVING ON A SMALL CAMPUS, IN A COLD AREA, ARE THAT OF A FEW SHORT DRIVES A DAY TO CLASSES. I USE MY CAR PRIMARILY FOR DRIVING MYSELF HOME AND TO SCHOOL WHICH IS A 2 HOUR DRIVE. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY HONDA ACCORD, AND BOTH HONDA DEALERSHIPS SAID THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE HONDA CR-V & CIVIC BUT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY ISSUES WITH A HONDA ACCORD. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT MY NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD WITH 2220 MILES HAS THE SAME ISSUE, AND THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION ON THE HIGHWAY SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME AND MY FAMILY AND I AM VERY GRATEFUL I DID NOT GET HURT OR MY CAR MALFUNCTIONING DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND CAUSE INJURY TO OTHER DRIVERS.

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH ACADEMY HONDA (1101 U.S. 9, OLD BRIDGE, NJ 08857, (732) 847-4391) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE CALIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE CALIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

The contact stated that he depressed the brake pedal immediately and continued driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while at a complete stop. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
CMBS PROBLEM... WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY WHEN THE "COLLISION MITIGATION BREAKING SYSTEM" LIGHT CAME ON AND THAT DISABLED THE ACC I WAS USING. NOTHING PARTICULAR HAPPENED, MAYBE I WAS BRAKING AT THE TIME. I ARRIVED AT DESTINATION. TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK AGAIN RIGHT AWAY TO SEE THE WARNING LIGHT DISAPPEAR AND EVERYTHING BACK TO NORMAL. I THOUGHT I WAS OK BUT IT HAPPENED FEW HOURS LATER ON THE WAY BACK IN THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES.
TODAY WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT MY CAR APPLIED BRAKE BY ITSELF WHEN I WAS DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND THERE WAS NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME. TO MENTION THAT MY 2018 HONDA ACCORD HAS THE AUTOMATIC BRAKE SYSTEM BUT I GOT USE TO HOW IT WORKS ITS NICE , BUT SOMETIMES IT APPLIES BRAKE FOR NO REASON AND ITS SCARY BECAUSE THIS SYSTEM DISCONNECT THE GAS PADEL WHEN APPLIED AND ITS SCARY AND UNSAFE WHEN IT IS ACTING WEIRD AND APPLYING BRAKE WHEN ITS NOT NECESSARY ( VIN:(XXXX) ). I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE TRAFFIC CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP AND MY EMERGENCY COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING KICKED IN. I PROCEEDED TO PRESS THE BRAKES MYSELF AND THE COMPUTER AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED THE BRAKES AND WOULD NOT RELEASE FOR NEARLY SEVEN SECONDS. I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY AND ALMOST REAR-ENDED DUE TO THE BRAKES NOT RELEASING. I PRESSED THE GAS SEVERAL TIMES AND PRESS THE BRAKES TO TRY TO RELEASE IT BUT NOTHING WORKED UNTIL THE BRAKES EVENTUALLY RELEASED THEMSELVES ABOUT 7 SECONDS LATER.
BOUGHT THE CAR IN AUG. 2018. THE STEERING ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND HARD TO DUPLICATE. CAN BEST BE DESCRIBED AS A "NOTCH" OR "FROZEN" OR "STUCK" FEELING IN THE STEERING WHILE GOING STRAIGHT, THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN THE POSITION AND ALMOST HAVE TO APPLY MORE PRESSURE THAN USUAL TO GET IT TO MOVE. IN THE 7 MONTHS OF DRIVING, I WOULD SAY ITS HAPPEN NO LESS THAN 20 TIMES. THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE 2018 HONDA ACCORD FORUMS COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS. SAYING THAT HONDA ACTS LIKE THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT, BUT THEY APPEAR TO BE REPLACING THE WHOLE STEERING RACK AS A SOLUTION (WHICH HAS A DIFFERENT PART #). I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER BECAUSE IT TOOK THEM 4 TRIES TO INSTALL MY HEATED STEERING WHEEL CORRECTLY AND I AM JUST WASTING MY TIME WITHOUT A RECALL OR TSB. ON BEHALF OF MANY 2018 HONDA ACCORD OWNERS, THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT COULD POTENTIALLY GET WORSE I GUESS AND HARDER TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL OUT THE "NOTCH" RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the Collision Mitigation Braking System engaged abruptly while there were no objects or other vehicles nearby. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while another vehicle from the opposite lane was approaching the vehicle. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no open recalls associated with the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
AT HIGHER SPEEDS THE STEERING WHEEL IS "STICKING" WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT. IT BECOMES "FROZEN" AND REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL BIT OF FORCE TO ADJUST THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS MAKES HIGHWAY DRIVING VERY ANNOYING (AND SOMEWHAT DANGEROUS). THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN AT HIGHER TEMPERATURES.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED A FAILURE IN THE AAC SYSTEM ALMOST RESULTING IN A FRONT COLLISION. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE THE OTHER AFTERNOON WITH AAC AND LKAS ENGAGED ON MY 2018 ACCORDT TOURING WITH 18000 MILES IT WAS 89F I WAS IN TRAFFIC BUT CRUISING AT A STEADY 65 MPH WHEN THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME STARTED TO SLOW. IT WAS AT THIS MOMENT THAT THE DASHBOARD THREW THE ERROR MESSAGE "COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM ERROR. PLEASE SEE YOUR DEALER." LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO APPLY BRAKES ALMOST HAS A CRASH WENT HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING ERROR WAS GONE DID AGAIN WHEN I DRIVING FEW WEEKS LATER AND RECENTLY ON FEBRUARY 15TH 2019 I ALMOST HAD ANOTHER CRASH BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE WENT TO THE DEALER THEY HOLD THE CAR FOR 1 AND HALF WEEK CAN'T FIND ANY ISSUE AND GOT CAR BACK ON MARCH 8TH AFTER DRIVING 5-6 MILES GOT SAME PROBLEM TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURNED ON AGAIN AFTER DRIVING ANOTHER 7-8 MILES SAME PROBLEM CALLED THE DEALER THEY WANT ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK WHEN THE MESSAGE STILL APPEARING ON THE SCREEN OTHER WAY THEY TELLING TO TAKE RISK OF CRASHING CAR BEFORE THEY CAN HELP ME CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE GOT SAME RESPONSE
ON 2/14/19, I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN A STRAIGHT LINE AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. THE CAR AHEAD OF ME STOPPED. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND INSTANTLY THE DASHBOARD WARNINGS LIT UP - ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM, AND THE BRAKE - AND THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK SO I COULD NOT STOP. I REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME DOING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR. THE WARNINGS WERE STILL VISIBLE AFTER THE CRASH AND I TOOK PICTURES OF THE DASHBOARD AS BEST AS POSSIBLE. THE WARNINGS SAY SOMETHING ABOUT SYSTEM NOT WORKING AND TO SEE A DEALER. THE SAME WARNINGS APPEARED ON 2/13/19 IN THE AFTERNOON BUT DISAPPEARED ON 2/14/19 IN THE MORNING. OTHER WARNINGS OF SAFETY SYSTEMS NOT ACTIVE HAVE APPEARED DUE TO ICE/SLUSH BUT THEN CLEARED WHEN THE SENSORS WERE CLEARED, BUT THESE NEW WARNINGS ARE DIFFERENT. AT LEAST TWICE, MAYBE THREE TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN WITH NOTHING IN THE ROAD OR IN FRONT OF THE CAR. MY BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY WORKED FINE FOR FIRST 2-3 MONTHS BUT THEN STOPPED AND I COULDN'T RECONNECT THE PHONE OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS. IT SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN ONE SYSTEM/ELECTRONICS PROBLEM AND SEEMS LIKE THE WARNINGS APPEARED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BRAKE NOT WORKING AS IF IT WAS MORE THAN AN ALERT BUT A SYSTEM (SYSTEMS) NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AT ALL. THE BRAKE WORKED AFTER THE ACCIDENT WHEN THE CAR WAS RESTARTED.
MY COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM RANDOMLY FAILS WHICH POPS UP AN ALERT AND DISABLES MY ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND AUTOMATIC BRAKING. IT HAS HAPPENED VARIOUS TIMES WHEN ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL HAS BEEN ENGAGED WITH DIFFERENT ENVIRONEMENTAL SITUATUONS (DAY AND NIGHT, SUNNY AND CLOUDY). TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING TYPICALLY CORRECTS THE ISSUE FOR A TIME BUT IT CONTINUES TO FAIL INTERMENTLY.
FUEL IS LEAKING INTO ENGINE OIL. MY MECHANIC SAID HE CAN SMELL THE FUEL IN THE OIL WHEN CHANGING OIL. ALSO THE OIL LEVEL INCREASES WHEN CHECKING OIL LEVEL OVER TIME. THIS OCCURS WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION.
CAR IS 2 WEEKS OLD AND I'VE HAD THE CMBS WHICH CONTROLS THE AUTOBRAKING AND ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL GO OFF 4 TIMES WITH THE FAILURE WARNING AND TO SEE THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. EACH TIME WAS UNDER A DIFFERENT SET OF ENVIRONMENTS INCLUDING AT NIGHT, A CLOUDY DAY, RAIN, AND SUNNY. IT SEEMS TO FAIL WITHIN 10 MINS OF THE FIRST TIME THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE IS SET. THE GREEN LIGHT THAT INDICATES THE SYSTEM IS WORKING GOES OFF AND TURNS TO ORANGE. I'VE CONTACTED THE DEALER FOR REPAIR BUT ONLINE SEARCHING SHOWS BOTH DEALERS AND HONDA DO NOT HAVE A FIX.

STEERING WHEEL STICKS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FIRST NOTICED ON A LONG TRIP FROM VIRGINIA TO NJ AND THOUGHT IT WAS A ONE-TIME THING. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED ON THE RETURN TRIP. PROBLEM PRESENTS ITSELF INITIALLY AS THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMS "FROZEN" IN PLACE. TO CORRECT THE NORMAL DRIFT, DRIVER MUST "BREAK" THE STEERING WHEEL FREE FROM THE FROZEN POSITION TO CORRECT THE DRIFT. THIS IS A CONTINUAL CONDITION AS THE STEERING WHEEL RETURNS INSTANTLY TO ITS FROZEN STATE AND MUST BE CONTINUALLY UN-STUCK DURING THE DURATION OF THE TRIP - GOING FROM STUCK TO UN-STUCK BACK TO STUCK. TRIP WAS MADE DURING COLD, RAINY, AND SOMETIMES LIGHTLY SNOWY CONDITIONS. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AND IS BEING DRIVEN HOME BY TECHNICIANS IN AN ATTEMPT TO INDUCE THE FAULT. TURNED OFF ALL SYSTEMS SUSPECTED OF AFFECTING THIS CONDITION - ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, HONDA SENSING, LAND DEPARTURE WARNING, ETC. PROBLEM EXISTS WHETHER THESE FEATURES ARE ENGAGED OR NOT. THE PRESENCE OF THIS CONDITION MAKE ME VERY UNEASY ABOUT DRIVING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55+ MPH AS I DON'T KNOW IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS GOING TO JUST LOCK UP AND NOT BREAK FREE FROM ITS STUCK CONDITION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 949.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT 25 WHEN IT STARTED SHOWING THREE WARNINGS " COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM FAILURE, LANE DEPARTURE SYSTEM FAILURE, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE (SEE YOUR DEALER). I CALLED MY LOCAL HNDA DEALERSHIP IN READING PA. THEY SAID THEY HAVE RECEIVED ALOT OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND THEY THINK THEY HONDA SENSING SYSTEM JUST FREEZES IN THE WINTER. IT ONLY SNOWED 5 INCHES A DAY PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. BASICALLY THEY SAID IT WILL GO AWAY ONCE ITS BIT WARMER AND THEY HAVE NO FACTORY RECALL. ALL THE DEALERSHIP COULD REPEAT " WE ARE SORRY". I LOOKED ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND I FOUND 100S OF SIMILAR COMPLAINT. MY QUESTION IS WHY THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT? WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL? THE FAILURE OF THIS HONDA SENSING SYSTEM DEFEATS THE MAIN REASON I BOUGHT THIS CAR ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS.

WHEEL WELLS BUILDING UP WITH ICE/SNOW CAUSING VEHICLE TO VIBRATE WHILE OPERATING (LIKE OUT OF ALIGNMENT) AND HINDERING THE TURNING OF THE VEHICLE LEFT OR RIGHT BECAUSE TIRES ARE HITTING THE ICE/SNOW BUILDUP ON WHEEL WELL.THE TIRES WHEN COLD ALSO BEHAVE AS IF ROAD IS SLIPPERY, BOTH IN ACCERALATION/STOPPING EVEN THOUGH ROAD MAY BE DRY. THIS OCCURS IN COLD TEMPERATURES ONLY. DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE OTHER THAN TO DRIVE VEHICLE INTO A HEATED GARAGE TO ALLOW ICE/SNOW BUILDUP TO MELT OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE TRAVELING 15-20 MILES IN SNOW CONDITIONS AND THE WHEEL WELL IS FULL OF SNOW AND THE TIRES ARE MAKING CONTACT WITH THIS SNOW WHICH WILL AFFECT THE TIRES AS WELL. NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN SHARPLY LEFT AND RIGHT IS DANGEROUS NOT ALLOWING DRIVER TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION NEED BE. TIRES APPEAR TO BE DANGEROUS IN COLD TEMPERATURES BECAUSE AFTER THEY WARM UP, THEY OPERATE OKAY. HOWEVER WHEN COLD, THE SLIP AND SLIDE BEHAVING LIKE YOU ARE ON ICY ROADS EVEN THOUGH ROAD IS DRY. TOOK TO DEALER TODAY.ADDITIONAL PICTURES AND THE INVOICE FROM DEALERSHIP AVAILABLE

ALL THREE SYSTEMS WERE NONFUNCTIONAL. DEALER ADVISED TO DRIVE THROUGH A CAR WASH BEFORE COMING IN FOR REPAIR. THE CAR WASH APPEARS TO HAVE WORKED, BUT THIS IS ABSURD! EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR CAR IS DIRTY, THE SAFETY FEATURES DON'T WORK? DIDN'T SEE THIS DISCLOSURE WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR OR WHEN I PAID FOR THESE FEATURES.
LEASED 2018 HONDA ACCORD IN OCTOBER, 25 MILES LATER HAD CHECKED ENGINE LIGHT ON,TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER,EMISSION HOSE WASN'T ATTACHED PROPERLY. AFTER MY "BRAKE SYSTEM" LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALERSHIP DENIED IT EVEN THOUGH I HAD RECORD OF IT, MY CAR DECIDED TO SEE HOW FAST IT COULD HIT THE BRAKES. I WAS DRIVING ON THE US-60 IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ON, TRAVELING AT 65 MPH DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR, SO IT'S STILL DARK, ON A 6 LANE FREEWAY. I CAN SEE BRAKE LIGHTS FAR AHEAD, SO I LIGHTLY TAP MY BRAKES TO DISENGAGE ACC AND SLIGHTLY SLOW THE CAR DOWN. THE CAR HAD OTHER PLANS AND THE BRAKES COMPLETELY LOCKED UP LIKE IT WAS USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKING FOR COLLISION MITIGATION' BUT NO WARNING/INFO SHOWED ON THE DASHBOARD AS IT NORMALLY DOES WHEN EMERGENCY SYSTEMS ENGAGE. SO BASICALLY MY CAR DECIDED IT WANTED TO SLAM ON ITS BRAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY FREEWAY, NEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, ALL BECAUSE I LIGHTLY TOUCHED THE BRAKES-- IT WAS NOT ABRUPT, IT WAS NOT A HARD PUSH... IT WAS LITERALLY TO TURN OFF ACC. I WATCHED THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AS THE SUV BEHIND ME WAS ABOUT TO PUT MY TRUNK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, BUT THANKFULLY THEY WERE ABLE TO SWERVE INTO THE HOV LANE NEXT TO US. THEY BARELY MISSED ME AND IF THAT OPEN SPOT WAS NOT THERE FOR THEM, I'D LIKELY BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. HONDA HAS IGNORED MY MESSAGES AND IT'S TIME TO LET OUR GOVERNMENT KNOW THIS CAR HAS ISSUES.

SINCE 1/14/2019, STEERING HAS BEEN STICKING AND DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN TRACK WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ADDITIONALLY, STEERING SEEMS ABNORMALLY "LOOSE" WHEN THE STICKING CONDITION IS NOT PRESENT. VEHICLE DOES NOT FEEL SECURE IN STEERING. LANE KEEP HAS BEEN TURNED OFF SINCE OCTOBER 2018. TIRE PRESSURE IS AS PER DOOR STICKER. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP NOW-HONDA IS REPLACING STEERING GEAR BOX-PART IS ON BACKORDER, WITH UNKNOWN AVAILABILITY OR DELIVERY DATE. THIS PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM REPORTED IN NHTSA ID # 11171463, AND 11156728. PROBLEM APPEARED AT APPROXIMATELY 5500 MILES ON ODOMETER.

IN THE STATES WHERE IT SNOWS, THE CAR COLLECTS LARGE AMOUNTS OF SNOW ON THE FRONT, AND KNOCKS OUT THE RADAR SYSTEM FOR THE LANE DEPARTURE DETECTION SYSTEM, WITCH ALSO IS FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM, THAT HELPS WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND ANY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. I AM NOT SURE IF IT ACTUALLY AFFECTS THE CRUISE CONTROL BECAUSE IN THE SNOW IS NOT A TIME TO USE IT.
IN COLDER WEATHER, THE VEHICLE MAKES A DRONE LIKE HUMMING NOISE, SIMILAR TO RUNNING A WET FINGER AROUND A WINE GLASS EXCEPT LOUDER. IF I OPEN THE WINDOW IT STOPS, IT ALSO STOPS BELOW 5 MPH. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING, I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME IT'S THE SPEAKERS, BUT WHY WOULD IT STOP WHEN THE WINDOW IS OPEN. I BELIEVE IT'S THE ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION ANC - ONCE THE VEHICLE WARMS UP 15 - 20 MINUTES THE NOISE STOPS. I FEEL THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT. ONE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE "ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON IT, BUT NO FIX AT THIS TIME". THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND IT ISN'T STOPPING. SEEMS LIKE HONDA IS HOPING FOR WARMER WEATHER BUT THAT IS NOT RIGHT. PLEASE HELP.
1) WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE IN MOTION OR FROM A PARKED POSITION THERE IS A 'CLICKING' NOISE THAT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. IT SOUNDS LIKE A GEAR IS STUCK OR SOMETHING IS STUCK. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT IT HAPPENS OFTEN ENOUGH THAT IT IS NOTICEABLE AND DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A NORMAL NOISE. 2) HONDA SENSING LIGHT WILL FLASH EVEN WHEN NO OBJECT IS APPROACHING AND WILL CONTINUE TO FLASH.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME AND THE BRAKES HAD NOT BEEN APPLIED. THIS DID GO OUT AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT. I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER BUT THEY WOULD NOT HELP SINCE THE WARNING MESSAGE WENT OFF. HOWEVER, IT APPEARS OTHERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES AS I AM AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO ADDRESS OR CORRECT IT.

THIS HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. DEALERSHIPS TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO REGISTRATION IN THE WARRANTY SYSTEM BECAUSE THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO NO RECORD OF THIS PROBLEM WAS SENT TO HONDA USA.

HERITAGE HONDA OF BEL AIR (LOCATED AT 1800 BELAIR RD, FALLSTON, MD 21047, (410) 343-5644) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
