Engine stall in the middle of the road making me hit an object and it lock up the steering wheel for I couldn't are nun causing the car to being in an accident this cost my insurance $4.5K to fix in damages and the car was under Honda care and Honda care basic warranty because they have on the carfax that it was minor because the amount of damage that cause Honda should be reliable for this accident bc this was a new car the steering wheel was not supposed to lock up while driving are just stall in the highway for I can’t steer
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the warning lights and messages had randomly activated which included the check engine light, ABS and Traction Control and the vehicle had suddenly reduced speeds and would not properly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced a sensor and the failures were remedied. No further information was available. Approximately two years later the failure reoccurred but also the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer. The cause of the failures were not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and 20V771000 (Electrical System, Back Over Prevention, Visibility/Wiper, Visibility, Exterior Lighting) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and it was confirmed that the parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I had the fuel pump recall done at my local Honda service center in Gardena, CA. They replace the potential bad fuel pump with a fuel pump kit. After the fuel pump replacement, the car has problem start up. Normally it takes 2 to 3 crank to start the engine. But now it take more than 10 cranks. And the problem is intermittent. It's very random. It does not matter if it's in the morning or night. Or does not matter if the car is being first started or had been driven. Seem the new pump is defective as well. Wrote to American Honda on several occasions, but never got a response.
Vibration Noise / Shuddering – Experienced a pronounced Low-frequency vibration noise / shuddering while coasting down in speed with foot off gas pedal. Felt like the CVT didn’t want to down-shift as speed decreased. Problem first occurred several times on August 12-13, 2021 when odometer was ~ 15,250, and has happened a few times since.
Collision mitigation braking system is braking my car at least 4xs when there is nothing on the road in front of me . Luckily there wasn't a car behind me. I was driving each time about 40 miles/he. Took my car to Davis Honda in Burlington County on Aug.6 2021 and they stated to me there was a piece of debri in the multi purpose camera which was cleaned out by them. Otherwise nothing came up in computer check. I believe there is a class action suit against Honda for this problem.
The passenger side Headlight has stopped working - the electronic display shows headlight issue, show dealer. This is a 2 year old car with around 60,000 miles on it ( relatively new) - but the LED going out so fast is a concern especially when LED lights lasts for years. My Honda dealer has asked me to replace the entire units as the power to the unit is on but the headlight itself is not working.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 80 mph, the power steering failed not allowing the contact to steer the vehicle. The contact also stated that the brakes would not engage when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with water getting into a small crack in the taillight causing an electrical short. The local dealer diagnosed the vehicle with the housing unit needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 42,500.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to lock the doors with the key fob, the alarm system made an abnormal sound. All the doors and the fuel door remained unlocked. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer under warranty so the repair would not be covered. The failure mileage was 66,000.
Tire Sensor light keeps coming on and tires are brand new, and air same pressure. Dealership said it was because of tread depth so I got new tires but tire sensor keeps coming on
Rear passenger side outside brake pad wear out much faster than the other 7 brake pads on the car. It worn out completely at 33k miles and the rotor and brake pad was metal on metal, because of this both had to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer reset the warning lights however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who also could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord Sedan. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V215000 (Fuel system, Gasoline). The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer where the recall was serviced. A month later while driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,800.
My 2019 Accord was due for a fuel pump recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000), so I took it in to First Texas Honda and they completed a “remedy” by replacing it. 2 weeks later, I drove my car for the first slightly longer trip of 100 miles at night, and the car lost its power on the highway. Pretty much all the malfunction indicator lights were on, the dashboard LCD displayed failure of all major systems, and the car would not start again. I had it towed to Allen Honda, another Honda dealership, who told me that the new fuel pump First Texas Honda installed for the recall was probably not done properly and that some o-ring had worn out. They had to replace the fuel pump again. It appears that First Texas Honda made an awful mistake on the recall that could have resulted in an accident.
I FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2020 WHEN IT WAS 5 MONTHS OLD AT THAT TIME BECAUSE IT WOULD SLAM ON BREAKS AND JERK THE STEERING WHEEL FOR NO KNOWN REASON AND WITH NO ONE AROUND. IT HAS CONTINUED TO DO THIS INTERMITTENTLY AS WELL AS OTHER ERRATIC DRIVING THAT CANT BE ACCOUNTED FOR INCLUDING AT TIMES GETTING CONFUSED WHEN PASSING EXIT RAMPS WHERE THE CAR WILL SLAM ON BREAKS AND JERK TO TRY TO EXIT. I WAS DRIVING THIS AFTERNOON AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHIMMY (VIBRATING BACK AND FORTH). IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS A POTNETIAL TIRE BLOW OUT BUT MY TPMS DID NOT INDICATE ANY LOSS OF PRESSURE. I ASSUMED THE CAR WAS HAVING ANOTHER ONE OF ITS UNEXPLAINED STEERING BEHAVIORS. I KNOW FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE THAT TURNING THE BLINKER ON WILL STOP THE SHIMMYING IF IT THINKS YOU ARE TRYING TO SWITCH LANES SO I TURNED MY BLINKER ON AND I MOVED OVER ONE LANE HOPING IT WOULD STOP. THE SHIMMYING (VIBRATING OF STEERING WHEEL) CONTINUED AND SHORTLY THERE AFTER IT PULLED HARD LEFT ON ME DRIVING ME DIRECTLY INTO A CEMENT BARRICADE THAT WAS LOCATED A FEW FEET OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HIT THE BARRICADE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND BOUNCED OFF OF IT SPUN AROUND AND RE-HIT THE BARRICADE WITH THE REAR OF THE CAR WHICH IS WHAT SUSTAINED THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE WHEN IT HIT. THOUGH I HIT THE BARRICADE WITH SIGNIFICANT FORCE THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN IN THE CAR WITH ME ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION WHEN THE CAR HAS DONE THIS AND I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT NUMEROUS TIMES TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR...IT ONLY DOES THIS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND ON THE HIGHWAY...IT WILL KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA COOPERATE AND ALSO FILED A REPORT WITH THEM AS WELL.
I HAD AN AUTO COLLISION ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT MY FACE ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND WHICH I SUSTAINED A SWOLLEN NOSE AND FREQUENT HEADACHES.
CAR FIRED CODE P2119F WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN IT WAS DIAGNOSED IT NEEDS FUEL INJECTORS AND FUEL RAIL REPLACED AND WARNED NOT TO DRIVE IT AS IT WILL GO INTO "LIMP MODE," AT SHUT THE CARE DOWN IMMEDIATELY TO 10 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. COST TO REPLACE ~$1325
The seatbelt and airbag collision sensor stopped working. The air pressure monitoring system sensor stopped working. The brake sensor suddenly goes off when no vehicle or person is in the way.
WHEN STATIONARY TO OBTAIN FUEL, FUEL LID ACTUATOR ELECTRONIC SWITCH FAILURE. FUEL DOOR REMAINS IN LOCKED POSITION. MANUAL METAL CABLE PULL CORD IN TRUNK FOR EMERGENCIES DOES NOT FUNCTION. INABILITY TO OBTAIN FUEL UNLESS FUEL LID IS PRIED OPEN DAMAGING THE VEHICLE.
30636 MILES CURRENTLY, JUST TOOK MY HONDA TO DEALER TO GET RECALL AND THEY DID A MPI AND SAID MY REAR BRAKES ARE AT 2 MM. THE ACCORD IS PRETTY MUCH HIGHWAYS DRIVEN AND SHOULDN'T NEED REAR BRAKES THIS SOON.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord Sedan. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that the parts for her specific model have not been manufactured yet. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DOING A NORMAL LANE CHANGE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. LOSS OF POWER AND MANEUVERABILITY. I WENT INTO THE SIDE DITCH WHERE MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY FLIPPED OVER. I HAD JUST GOT THE BCM RECALL ON MY VEHICLE 5 DAYS PRIOR. I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW, ONLY THAT MY VEHICLE LOST COMPLETE CONTROL FOR NO REASON, IT WAS AS IF I HAD TURNED MY ENGINE OFF WHILE CHANGING LANES.
NOT ONLY DOES THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN SOMETIMES BLACK OUT WHEN I AM NAVIGATING, BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SOMETIMES KICKS IN ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THERE IS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR NONE ON EITHER SIDE. I ALSO GET OCCASIONAL COFFEE CUP ICONS WITH A DRIVER ALERT SIGNAL EVEN WHEN I AM DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, YET CONSCIOUS OF THE NEED TO STEER A BIT TO TELL THE SYSTEM I AM ALERT. THE ALERTS HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE A FEW TIMES. THE DEALER'S ONLY RESPONSE WAS THAT HONDA IS AWARE AND BLAMES THE PROBLEM ON USING THE CORD THAT MUST BE USED TO ACTIVATE CARPLAY AND THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM!
I PURCHASED MY HONDA ACCORD SPORT LAST MONTH AND HAD NO ISSUES 5,000 MILES ON IT. BUT AS I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT THE BRAKES ARE NOT OPERATING AS THEY SHOULD WAY TOO SENSITIVE AND IS NOT A SMOOTH PROCESS AS IT SHOULD BE THE SLIGHTEST PRESSURE MAKES IT JOLT FORWARD. ON IDLE MY RPMS START TO LOWER THEN GO UP I DON'T BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A VACUUM LEAK, FUEL PUMP OR SPARK PLUGS BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE.
AT 25,000 MILES, TOOK CAR IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, RECALL 20-039, ACC MALFUNCTION, AND HAZARD MITIGATION WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD. DURING INSPECTION ON VEHICLE BY TECHNICIAN, WAS FOUND THAT FRONT BRAKES WERE AT 7 MMS AND REAR BRAKES WERE AT 0 MMS. REAR BRAKE PADS WERE COMPLETELY WORN DOWN AND ROTORS WERE RUSTED AND BEYOND ANY REPAIR. TECHNICIAN AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS WAS "NORMAL." HONDA CORPORATION WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IN TALKING TO SEVERAL OUTSIDE MECHANICS AND MY KNOWLEDGE OF BRAKE REPAIR, ALL AGREE THAT REAR BRAKES SHOULD NOT COMPLETELY WEAR OUT BEFORE FRONT BRAKES AT 25,000 MILES. THE HONDA MECHANIC STATED THAT DOING THE RECALL OF REPROGRAMMING THE BCM WOULD CORRECT PROBLEM WITH ACC - ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS RE-PROGRAMMING DID NOT CORRECT THE ACC PROBLEM AND ACTUALLY MADE IT INOPERABLE. WE HAVE FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT TO LOOK AT ACC PROBLEM. DEALER SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, THEY WILL HAVE HONDA CORP. INSPECT VEHICLE. WE HAVE ON FILE ALL ROUTINE MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS RECORDED IN "MAINTENANCE & SERVICE HANDBOOK" AND HONDA MULTI POINT VEHICLE INSPECTION CHECKLISTS. INCURRED $355 EXPENDITURE TO REPLACE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED BY HONDA ALONG WITH RESOLUTION OF ISSUE.
LOW SPEED BLOWOUT OF TIRE. REPORTED TO HANKOOK CASE# [XXX] AND REPLACED AT DEALERSHIP. HANKOOK DENIES THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT THE LOCATION OF THE HOLE DOES NOT CORRESPOND WITH AN OBJECT DAMAGING THE TIRE. DEALER NOTES ON RECEIPT: "TIRE HAS DAMAGE TO THE INNER SIDE WALL. UPON INSPECTION WE DID NOT SEE ANY DAMAGE TO THE RIM OR ANY OTHER TIRE. POSSIBLY A FAULTY TIRE. WHILE DRIVING, CAR AUTOMATICALLY APPLIES BRAKES. SPEED WILL SLOW ALL THE WAY DOWN, ALMOST TO A STOP. MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS DEALING WITH BRAKE SYSTEM WILL RANDOMLY POP UP, BUT ALSO LEAVE ON THEIR OWN JUST TO REOCCUR LATER ON. I JUST GOT THIS CAR A MONTH AGO WITH ONLY 19,XXX MILES.
DASHBOARD SHOWS MULTIPLE WARNING FUNCTIONS THAT IS DISABLED IN THE VEHICLE SUCH AS LKAS, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, BLIND SPOT INFORMATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, AUTO- HIGH BEAM PROBLEM, TRANSMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM, PERFORMANCE MAY BE REDUCED, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM PROBLEM.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V3858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
RODENT CHEWED THE SOY BASED WIRING HARNESS IN THE ENGINE BAY CAUSING VARIOUS FAULT CODES: ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM BRAKE PERFORMANCE MAY BE REDUCED, TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM PROBLEM. DEALER REMOVED INTAKE MANIFOLD, THROTTLE BODY, REMOVE FUEL RAIL AND #3 INJECTOR. REPAIR CONNECTOR WIRING HARNESS TO #3 INJECTOR. REPLACE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. AFTER THE HARNESS IS REPLACED. THERE ARE STILL WARNING LIGHTS THAT WILL NOT CLEAR. PULL ENGINE COVER AND LOWER BUMPER COVER AT FRONT/NOTE THAT THERE IS RODENT DAMAGE ON TWO OTHER WIRING HARNESSES REMOVED AND REPLACED FRONT BUMPER WIRING HARNESS AND ENGINE TO BODY WIRING HARNESS. WENT INTO SYSTEM AND CLEARED ALL CODES. RECHECKED AND STEERING NEEDED TO BE INITIALIZED THROUGH THE VSA SYSTEM. DROVE THE VEHICLES FOR A FEW DAYS AND ALL THE PROBLEMS RE-OCCURRED AGAIN. HONDA HAS A RODENT REPELLENT TAPE PART # 4019-2317. HOWEVER, SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SOLD THIS TAPE. THIS PROVES HONDA IS AWARE OF THE RODENT ISSUE OF EATING WIRING HARNESS.
The car’s steering wheel doesn’t respond to driver’s input correctly causing the car to constantly wander around within the lane. It is impossible for the driver to keep the car centered within a highway lane. In creates an increased chance of hitting nearby vehicles. Also, it requires the driver to focus mostly on centering the car inside the lane and less time on wider observation of the surroundings. During an emergency maneuver to avoid any object on the road, the car may not respond to the driver’s input as intended. As shown in the attached video, as the driver tries to turn the steering wheel clockwise from the centered position, the steering wheel doesn’t move a bit as if something is tightly holding it. When more turning force is applied by the driver, the steering wheel loosens up instantly which creates an over turning of the car. Although the degree of the movement appears small in the video, this is big enough to noticeably shift the car within a highway lane. I am very afraid that if the car will let driver turn the steering during an emergency situation. This problem happens with all the active safety system turned off including lane departure warning and lane keep assists. The problem is more reproduceable in certain condition. The temperature should be around 50 degrees or below. The car must be driven for 30min or longer on highway at around 70mph. The steering wheel must be turned from the centered position. The car is available for inspection upon request. Other Honda Accord and civic owners seem to experience the same problem as discussed in Internet forums. I took the car to the dealer and they couldn’t reproduce the problem or stated that it is within design specification. There haven’t been other problem in the car to cause this behavior. I purchased this car new and the problem started after a year of ownership.
ON 02/06/2021, AFTER ENTERING A GATED RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY, THE CAR SUDDENLY BRAKES FOR NO REASON. NO OTHER VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIANS WERE ON THE ROAD. WEATHER WAS OVERCAST. ROADWAY WAS DRY. SPEED WAS APPROXIMATLEY 27 MPH. NECK AND HEAD INJURY RESULTED. HONDA DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AFTER RUNNING ALL TESTS. THEREFORE, THEY SAID NOTHIG WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR!
MY REAR BRAKES ARE BAD AT ONLY 27000 MILES. FRONT BRAKES ARE GOOD. THE SAME HAPPENED WITH MY 2016 ACCORD.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall as several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer where a software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact then stated that he had taken the vehicle to another dealer and was informed that his failure was related to a defective fuel pump; his vehicle was also under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000(Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts for the repair were on backorder. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was 40,220. Parts distribution disconnect.
MY REAR BREAK PADS ARE WEARING FASTER THAN THE FRONT BREAK PADS. AT A 35K MILES I HAD TO GET NEW BREAK PADS FOR MY CAR. I DRIVE A LOT IN THE CITY. IT IS RARE THAT I TAKE LONG ROADS. PROBABLY AROUND 29K MILES IN THE CITY AND 6K MILES ON THE ROAD.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, he heard loud buzzing and popping noises coming from the door speakers accompanied by severe vibration from the door speakers. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact reported that the noise was distracting to the point that he pulled onto the side of the road. The contact said that the noise stopped once he had pulled over. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and two microphones of the "Active Noise Canceling Microphone" system were replaced on the driver’s side roof and the rear passenger middle roof. The contact experienced a recurrence of the same loud buzzing and popping noise again. The contact stated that he returned the vehicle to the same dealer and the microphones were not replaced. The contact said that the noise recently returned, and he took the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the issue and was told that the manufacturer had no remedy available. The contact said the manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
I NOTICED ON A COLD STARTS MY CAR WOULD MISFIRE FOR A SECOND THEN GO AWAY ONCE WARMING UP , MY FUEL PUMP RELAY ALSO WENT OUT LEAVING ME STRANDED AT 2AM BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT START JUST KEPT ROLLING OVER.. HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR AND WENT TO GET A ENGINE CONTROL/FUEL PUMP RELAY THE NEXT DAY AND THE CAR TURNED ON ONCE I PUT THAT IN. WITH THIS HAPPENING I KNOW SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND I'VE PUT PREMIUM GAS IN THE CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW . I WENT ONLINE TO READ UP ON IT AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2018-2019 MODEL ACCORDS , SO I WENT TO THE DEALER THINKING YES THEY CAN FIX IT BUT WHEN THEY SEARCHED MY VIN THE ONLY THING THAT CAME UP WAS THE BCM UPDATE. BUT KNOWING THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT PROBLEM I'M HAVING AND I CAN'T GET IT FIXED UNTIL I SAVE UP A LITTLE BIT . IS THERE A WAY THIS RECALL CAN BE DONE TO MY VEHICLE. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN SUCCESSFULLY GET TO SCHOOL AND WORK.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR MAKES A LOUD HUMMING NOISE THAT REGULATES FROM LOW TO HIGH NOISE LOUD HUMMING NOISE HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CAR IN MOTION ON ANY STREET OR HIGHWAY DRIVING STRAIGHT OR AROUND A CURVE ETC. WHEN YOU STOP THE NOISE STOPS
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, a bubble had formed on three different tires which resulted in the tires being replaced. On each occasion, an abnormal, thud-like sound was coming from the vehicle. Once the vehicle was taken for an inspection, the contact was notified that a bubble had formed on the tire. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice with the rear passenger’s side tire, and once on the front driver’s side tire, each with a different tire brand. On the last occasion, the contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel with a burning rubber odor coming from the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65-75 MPH THE VEHICLE HAS BRAKED HARD IN THE HIGHWAY. NO CARS BESIDE OR IN FRONT. THE LAST INCIDENT I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A TOYOTA TUNDRA WHO BARELY WAS ABLE TO STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO VANN YORK HONDA, WAS TOLD IT WAS A RECALL FOR A BCM MODULE (OBVIOUSLY UNTRUE, THAT IS FOR WIPERS, REAR DEFOGGER, ETC), BUT I DID GET THE ISSUE DOCUMENTED ON PAPER. THIS WAS IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME, I OR MY FAMILY HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE CAR DOES HAVE AN ISSUE WITH BRAKING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED FOR NO REASON. AT TIMES THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, THE LAST TWO TIMES LANE DEPARTURE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I HAVE BEEN CENTERED UP IN MY LANE, NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR AS I STATED BESIDE ME. THE CAR IS A DANGER TO THE DRIVER, ANY POTENTIAL PASSENGERS AND THE VEHICLE FOLLOWING. HONDA SEEMS NOT TO BE CONCERNED AS I HAVE READ ONLINE IN MANY PLACES THAT THIS BEGAN WITH 2018 MODELS AND AFFECTS NOT JUST THE ACCORD, BUT THE CIVIC AS WELL. MY 75 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAS A 2019 CIVIC THAT IS DOING THE SAME THING. I SUPPOSE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT AND FAMILIES START TO SUE, HONDA MAY DO SOMETHING. NOW THAT I HAVE DOCUMENTATION, IF I GET HURT, THAT IS MY PLAN!
All 4 of the vehicle door lock actuators have failed either intermittently or permanently. This results in the doors unlocking and potentially not relocking causing the vehicle to be unsecured. The dealer claims that my vehicle is an isolated incident and that the mileage exceeds the warranty. I maintain that all 4 of the lock actuators failing is not a chance occurrence and that faulty parts were used in the manufacturing process. The failures began happening at approximately 18 months after I purchased the vehicle in new condition.
ON 3 DIIFFERANT DATES MY 2019 HONDA ACCORD SPORT HAD A POWER FAILURE ON THE HIGHWAY INTERSTATE 81, GOING AROUND 65 TO 70 MPH. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF FOR JUST A MINUTE THEN CAME BACK TO LIFE. RPM DROPPED ALL AT ONCE. 1ST TIME ON 12/07/2020. SECOND TIME WAS 12/28/2020 SAME INTERSTATE SAME AROUND THE SAME SPEED. THIS I PULLED OFF TO SIDE OF INTERSATE. THE CAR WAS STILL SHUT OFF. I RESTARTED CAR AND IT STARTED FINE AND NO MORE DISFUNCTION THAT DAY. ON 01/12/2020 IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON I 81 INTERSTATE AND AGAIN IT SHUT OFF LOST ALL POWER FOR A MINUTE , RPMS DROPPED COMPLETELY AND THEN IT RECOVERED ITSELF. NOW I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MILLER HONDA 3 TIMES. JUST LAST WEEK THEY TOOK IT IN FOR ANOTHER RECALL ON SOMETHI;NG IN THE COMPUTER AND THEY UP DATED THAT. A THAT TIME THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE COULD FIND NOTHING THAT SHOWED IT HAD EVER SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE PAST. I DID SHUT ITSELF OFF 3 TIMES AND I DONT CARE WHAT HE SAID IT DID HAPPEN AND I DO NOT FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. IT IS A YEAR OLD I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AT MILLER HONDA IN WINCHESTER VA. AND IT HAS ONLY 5400, MILES ON IT.
ON 3 DIFFERENT DATES MY 2019 HONDA ACCORD SPORT HAD A POWER FAILURE. I WAS GOING ABOUT 65 TO 70 MPH WHEN EACH INCIDENT OCCURRED. FIRST TIME WAS AROUND 12/12/2021.THE ENGINE OR POWER SHUT OFF, RPM DROPPED ALL AT ONCE FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THEN CAME BACK TO LIFE. THE SECOND TIME WAS 12/28/2020 ON THE SAME INTERSTATE 81FGOING ABOUT THE SAME SPEED. THIS TIME I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE THE CAR WAS STILL SHUT OFF. I RESTARTED THE CAR IT DROVE OK AND NO MORE TROUBLE THAT DAY. ON 01/12/2020 IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON I 81 INTERSTATE AND AGAIN IT SHUT OFF OR LOST ALL POWER FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THEN IT RECOVERED ITSELF.THIS WAS A VERY BAD SITUATION AS I WAS IN 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITH TRACTOR TRAILERS ALL AROUND GOING 70 MPH.I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MILLER HONDA, THREE TIMES. THEY TOOK IT IN AND TRIED TO SEE IF IT WOULD SHUT OFF ON THEM.IT DID NOT AT THAT TIME. SERVICE MANAGER COULD FIND NOTHING AT THAT TIME. I HAVE CALLED HONDA AND REGISTERED A CLAIM AS I FEEL THIS NEW CAR WITH ONLY 5,500 MILES ON IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
STARTED HEARING A SQUEAK SOUND FROM THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE AREA SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION THAT I PAID 65 DOLLARS FOR AND WAS TOLD MY BRAKES ARE FINE BOTH FRONT AND BACK SO I GO AHEAD AND KEEP DRIVING AND THE NOISE GETS LOUDER SO I GO BACK TO DEALERSHIP THEY STILL SAY AFTER THEY SAY THEY CHECKED THAT BRAKES ARE FINE SO I TAKE THEM AT THERE WORD NOT 4 DAYS LATTER I AM KNOW GETTING A GRINDING SOUND FROM THE FRONT AND REAR OF MY CAR AND MY BRAKE FLUID IS SUPER LOW IN MY CAR AND FEELS LIKE I HAVE NO BRAKES AT 30K MILES
SHIFTS FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WHEN SHIFTER IS SLIGHTLY CONTACTED, SUCH AS REMOVING A WATER BOTTLE FROM CUPHOLDER NEAR SHIFTER CONSOLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES INCLUDING WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN IDLING. IF THIS HAPPENS AT 60MPH YOU WILL SLOW DOWN TO A STOP WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS LIT, POSSIBLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY, MAY RESULT IN REAR END ACCIDENT. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE NOTICED AND WAS ABLE TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE WITHOUT ACCIDENT OCCURRING. I AM EMAILING SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT BURNS HONDA REGARDING THIS PROBLEM TODAY, AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING.
I WAS AT A RED STOP LIGHT ON A LOCAL STREET. IT WAS A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO PROCEED. I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND TRAFFIC LANE (THERE ARE TWO LANES FOR A LEFT HAND TURN AT THIS SPOT). AS I PROCEEDED TO MAKE THE TURN, THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED THE BRAKE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME AND TO MY RIGHT. I DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO THIS ACTION CAUSED MY CAR TO STALL. LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT HIT ME. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR QUICKLY. I HAD A HARD TIME RESTARTING THE CAR AS THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE ON TO START THE CAR AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND FOOT BRAKE PRESSED. AS THIS ALL HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AND I DID NOT EXPECT THE CAR TO STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I DO NOT LIKE THE MITIGATION SYSTEM AS YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF EACH TIME YOU START YOUR CAR. FOR A CONSCIENTIOUS DRIVER YOU DO NOT NEED THIS SYSTEM. IT IS ONLY A BURDEN AND A HAZARD. I CALLED A LOCAL DEALER TO ASK ABOUT SHUTTING THIS SYSTEM OFF PERMANENTLY AND THE ADVISOR TOLD ME SHE HAD A HONDA THAT DOES THE SAME THING AT A CERTAIN ROAD SHE DRIVES WHERE THERE IS A DIP IN THE ROAD. PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF HONDA IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE MITIGATION SYSTEM.
At two different times on a heavily traveled, high-speed road, the dashboard crash warning activated even though no other vehicle or obstacle was in the vicinity. The car did not slow a great amount or come to a stop; but had it done so, I could easily have been rear-ended by another vehicle. I have not asked that a dealer, independent service center, or Honda check this. Until recently reading of the NHTSA investigation, I assumed my car had experienced an isolated glitch that would be difficult to identify. The incident date entered on this report is not accurate. I do not recall the dates, which were sometime during 2020 and 2021.
THE POSITIONING OF THE WINDSHIELD MOUNTED CENSORS BOX AND THE REARWARD VIEW MIRROR CREATE A FORWARD TO THE RIGHT BLIND SPOT THAT OBSTRUCTS VIEWS OF ONCOMING PEDESTRIANS IN THE WALKWAY COMING TOWARDS YOU AS YOU ARE NEGOTIATING THE VERY BEGINNING OF A RIGHT HAND TURN, LEADING TO POTENTIAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT AND VERY ANGRY PEDESTRIANS WHO DO NOT REALIZE THEY HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY NOT TO WALK RIGHT THROUGH YOUR DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. IN ONE INCIDENT, THE PEDESTRIAN, WHO DID NOT COLLIDE WITH ME, THEN ASSAULTED MY CAR IN UNCONTROLLED ANGER SIX TIMES WITH FLAT HANDS TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR TRYING TO CAUSE DAMAGE. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO TRY AND REPORT SAME TO POLICE SINCE THE POLICE MIGHT ACCUSE YOU OF STRIKING THE PEDESTRIAN WHO SCREAMED OUT OF CONTROL AND ASSAULTED YOUR VEHICLE. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED, OR ALL ACCORDS EQUIPPED WITH FULL TIME SELECTABLE REARWARD CAMERA, NOT JUST THE TOP END MODELS AS THIS IS A SERIOUS VEHICLE DESIGN FLAW, THE CENSOR BOX SHOULD BE MOVED TO FRONT OF THE HOOD MOUNT, IT IS OBSCURING A LOT OF VISION FOR ANYONE 5"10" OR OVER. I AM 6'2":. THIS IS THE FIRST OF ABOUT 12 ACCORDS/ODDS/PILOTS I'VE OWNED OR LEASED WITH THIS HUGE A VISION OBSTRUCTION RIGHT IN MY RIGHT CENTRAL FRAME OF VISION. I WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED THE LEASE HAD I KN OWN ABOUT THIS OR THE EXTREME RIGHT HAND BIASED PLACEMENT OF THE GAS/BRAKE PEDALS WITH RESPECT TO THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND MY KNEES, CREATING A PRESSURE OBSTRUCTION THAT SLOWS DOWN HITTING OF THE BRAKES. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. THIS GUY WENT HAYWIRE AND DID NOT REALIZE HE WAS OBSTRUCTED BEHIND THE CENSOR BOX AND REAR VIEW MIRROR, SO HE ASSAULTED MY VEHICLE SIX OR MORE TIMES WITH OPEN HANDS TRYING TO DENT THE VEHICLE. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BUT NO ACCOUNTING FOR PEOPLE'S BLOOD PRESSURE AND TODAY'S ASSAULT FIRST, CONSIDER YOUR SITUATION APPROACH.
Sudden engine power loss; merging to highway speed was not possible. Risk to safety was the loss was when needing to merge with traffic at highway speeds. The dealership could not reproduce the problem. The check engine light did come on, but no codes were generated. The check engine light extinguished before the vehicle could be taken to the dealership. Only possible symptom, prior to the event, and still existing, is a lack of power, compared to when it was new. The dealership cannot confirm the cause of this power loss. There are other indications that there is a controls/computer problem, in my opinion. Power assist is not always available, but then suddenly engages, causing the car to jerk. My conclusion is that the vehicle does not immediately recognize the steering input. The problem is most pronounced when traveling straight, on the highway and needing to make a mild lane correction to maintain the lane. The vehicle does not immediately recognize the mild steering input until the steering wheel has been turned significantly. Once the steering wheel has been turned significantly and the steering input is recognized, the power steering engages, causing a sudden jerk and a need to recover control. The dealership has not been able to reproduce this problem. I have been able to temporarily resolve it, by momentarily engaging the Lane Keep Assist. Normal, expected power assisted steering is recovered for a period of time.
