Touch screen glitching and beeping, acts as if being touched and scrolls through settings and apps randomly; makes phone calls that can’t easily be disconnected, hangs up calls, enables or disables navigation. Many distracting and potentially dangerous glitches. Unsure if integrates into automated features and unsure if it will engage braking, steering, cruise control, etc. while driving. Replacement part indefinitely back ordered. Local and corporate uncooperative in answering questions regarding safety concerns. Touchscreen unresponsive frequently.
While driving on an open road with no cars around, the emergency braking suddenly engaged causing the car to come to an almost complete stop by itself.

Honda head unit touch screen is glitching while driving. This causes my navigation system to shut down or freeze and then I am unable to use the touch screen entirely. The dealership has confirmed this as an issue that other people are experiencing as well.
At speed limit cruising down I66. I was all alone. No birds in area at all. Open road. I was in middle lanes. Car attempted to come to a complete stop by itself. “Phantom Braking”? All my friends with Honda’s and Acura’s mentioned similar issues. If anyone was behind me, I could have caused a pile up or even worse. It’s happened a few times. Took to Capitol Heights Honda and Landmark Honda. They ran diagnostics. Explained to me there were no error codes. I explained to them, if system has a fault, it thinks it’s operating properly. So, no errors would appear! I have experience and education in computer programming (College), mechanical and electronic (US Army) and over 30 electromechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance and other IT experience. SME After they haven’t been able to do anything about it, I turn off all safely systems. I drive a lot. So, I’m also a very good driver. Have almost 65k miles on my vehicle. Date of incident below was when I forgot to turn off sensor. But it happened a few times before and I brought to Honda after first two times. I even had to rent a car at my expense.
Front passenger side seat belt does not lock into place. Nothing is obstructing it, we were told it is not covered under the vehicles warranty and have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. Isn’t this a safety hazard?
My family and I were driving home to LA from NM. I had been using the cruise and steer assist earlier in the drive but had it off after going through a metro area interstate. There was no vehicles within the cars front camera system when while driving 75 mph( that was the sped limit in TX), the cars braking system engaged with a hard break, no “brake” light flash of rapid break pumps as it would do if something was within the camera range. I was able to get in slow lane and within 30 secs it did it again. I was able to drive another hour with no issue but stayed under 65mph. We are 7 hours away from home and will be getting it to the dealership. This could have caused a major wreck.
The infotainment system randomly presses all over the screen all the time. This causes tony of issues such as turning on the radio, changing navigation, and making beeping noises constantly. Honda has replaced the infotainment system twice in my vehicle and it has fixed absolutely nothing. This is a major safety issue because of how distracting it is when driving. The incessant beeping noises (it beeps every time the touch screen is “pressed”) makes it so that I don’t know whether the car is beeping for safety issues (lane assist etc) or not. The radio being turned on at random is extremely startling and has caused me many near accidents. The navigation turning off as I am navigating through traffic has caused much stress and confusion which can lead to an accident. This is a major issue that needs correction ASAP.
I would like to report an ongoing issue with my infotainment system. I reported to Honda, but was told there was nothing that they could do about it since I had not had the issue diagnosed in the shop. I did not want to go this route because I knew it would cost an enormous amount of money, especially after reading several reviews online of others having the same issue. I reported to the shop once and later discovered that there was no documentation when I took the vehicle to Fred Anderson in Greenville SC. The Tech stated he would reset to factory defaults. This did not fix the issue. As I have done more research, I have discovered that there was a recall on models between 2017-2020, but not 2021. I feel this is a safety issue because the GPS would go out at any minute as well as drop calls that have could be emergency calls. A glitching infotainment system in your 2021 Honda Accord can absolutely become a safety issue for several reasons: Driver Distraction – If the screen freezes, reboots, or doesn’t respond, I may be tempted to look at it or keep pressing buttons instead of focusing on the road. Even a few seconds of distraction can increase crash risk. Loss of Critical Features – Modern infotainment systems often control or display important functions such as: Backup camera, Navigation / maps, Hands-free calling and texting (via Bluetooth). Vehicle settings (like driver-assist features). If the system glitches, I could temporarily lose access to these safety aids. Impaired Communication – If Bluetooth cuts out or the system won’t connect, you may be more likely to handle your phone directly, which is unsafe and often illegal. In SC there is a new law for hands free use while driving. Malfunctioning Alerts – Some infotainment systems integrate with driver-assist warnings (lane departure, collision alerts, etc.). If the system glitches, those warnings may not display or may lag. Unexpected Resets -Sudden reboots frozen screens can startle you while driving,
A vehicle in front of me made a quick slow down. The automatic braking engaged, the driver behind me did not react in time and struck the back of my car. Resulting in totaling of the vehicle. The automatic braking would not stop engaging, if it would have dis-engaged I could of pulled forward a few feet and the driver behind me would of missed me.
I was traveling on interstate 10 going around 50mph with a safe distance from the traffic in front of me. The car in front of me did break but then sped off immediately. My car's automatic emergency breaking system engaged very aggressively and unnecessarily (a front end impact was not imminent if my car had not braked). I tried to accelerate but I had no control over it. The sudden breaking caused my car to slow so rapidly that the freightliner behind me did not have time to react, causing him to rear end my car. The car was totaled as a result. I have front and rear dash camera footage showing all of this. ***I marked a document as the police report to proceed but I do not have a copy of the police report. This is not provided unless ordered***
Honda notified me of a recall of a seat sensor for my 2021 Honda Accord over a year ago. The dealers I have called in San Diego, CA have all told me that they have the parts but won’t repair my vehicle because they are only allowed to repair cars with their airbag light on. A year ago rha mase sense, a year later knowing that the dealer is sitting on the parts and aren’t allowed to install them in unacceptable. There is a chronic problem in the US with car owners not getting recalls repaired. I’m trying but being to wait up to 2 more years. This is unacceptable. This recall has devalued my vehicle.
Brakes failed and steering took over the car uncontrollably and went in all different directions hitting whatever it came across and ending up stopping after hitting the last thing
Infotainment head unit (touchscreen radio) overheats in the warmer months, causing the touchscreen to process commands without human touches (acts like a ghost is operating the unit). This can range from calling radom people within my contacts, turning th volume of the radio up to the max volume (startling and distracting), starting/stopping a GPS route, to freezing the screen altogether. I feel this is a safety issue, as we are warned not to operate this unit while the car is in motion. When the head unit is operating on its own, it is distracting and startling at times while driving. This can cause an accident. I've heard other owners say the manufacturer of this head unit has stated they don't have a fix for the "overheating" issue. Honda should be pursuing a remedy for their consumers to correct this safety hazzard.
I have experienced persistent and frustrating issues with the infotainment system of my 2021 Honda Accord Touring. These problems affect both the usability and reliability of critical in-car technology, impacting daily driving and reduces overall satisfaction. Specifically: 1. Touchscreen Malfunctions Symptoms: Unresponsive screens, freezing, and “ghost touches” (inputs registered without physical contact) disrupt navigation, audio, and other controls 2. System Crashes and Reboots Symptoms: The system may randomly crash, freeze, or restart, sometimes causing the entire dashboard to shut off—even while driving 3. Connectivity Problems Symptoms: Frequent disconnections or failures with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth, making it hard to use smartphone features safely 4. Blank or Malfunctioning Displays Symptoms: The screen may go black, fail to turn on, or show a white screen, obscuring navigation, fuel, and safety information 5. Battery Drain Symptoms: The infotainment system sometimes powers on unexpectedly when the car is off, draining the battery and risking further electrical issues. These issues are not new and have attempted to be resolved by a Honda Service Center (Honda of Westport, CT) with no resolution or ability to resolve.
While driving, infotainment system starts jumping to different modes causing me to get distracted while driving. I ended up recording a few clips of it in the mist of running into the curb. Honda initially stated that it was odd because there are no complaints a year ago. Yesterday however, I talked to Honda because the problem is occurring more. They stated that there are numerous complaints. In order for them to fix it, they have to be able to duplicate the issue
I am submitting this report to bring attention to a recurring issue with the infotainment/radio system in my vehicle, which I believe may warrant inclusion in a safety recall. The radio system in my vehicle has been experiencing persistent malfunctions, including ghost touching—where the screen registers inputs that I have not made. These phantom commands result in erratic behavior such as random changes to settings, volume fluctuations, unintended calls, and frequent screen switching. In some instances, this has caused significant distraction while driving, raising safety concerns. This issue appears to be electrical or software-related, and I have seen reports from other drivers of similar occurrences in the same make/model. I believe this defect poses a potential safety risk due to its impact on driver focus and control of in-car systems. I respectfully request that this malfunction be investigated by the NHTSA for potential inclusion in a recall or technical service bulletin, as it may represent a broader issue affecting other vehicles of the same type. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Honda accord breaks unexpectedly for no reason. It’s an automatic break or slow down without us pressing the break. The car has an automatic emergency break system and it seems to break when nothing is I front of us. Happens many times and dealer can’t figure out what is wrong. They tell us car is running well.
I was driving home in the rain and felt the car automatically braking when there was no car or object in front of me. The car was also slow to accelerate because the brakes were automatically applied. 5 miles later numerous warnings appeared on the dash and the following error messages came through my Hondalink app: Electric Parking Brake Problem, CMBS Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, and RDM Problem. Several times during this drive home the brakes automatically applied without any intervention from me or roadway object. I almost got rear-ended once when a car behind me had to slam on its brake when my car automatically braked without me doing anything. This is a very dangerous condition that should be looked further into as multiple drivers have reported brakes being applied without driver intervention or an apparent road hazard. How many complaints will it take before a recall is issued so other Honda drivers do not need to be put at risk?
Check engine light came on regarding power train system. The very next day it went away.
The collision mitigation brake system continues to come off, and today it made my car spin, and I almost crash into the media.
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated. The contact veered off the roadway. The contact then stated that she carefully drove the vehicle to her residence. Additionally, the contact added that on a separate occasion while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle inadvertently jerked without the brake pedal depressed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.

We were traveling on California Interstate 5 North. About 5 miles south of Junction 152 the car started malfunctioning. Suddenly there was acceleration beyond my control. I pushed the brake as hard as I could. It felt like the car was going to explode. Somehow miraculously the car landed on the shoulder of the freeway. It missed hitting any other cars or trucks. This was a rental car from Avis. I, my wife and another passenger came very close to death. For several minutes we were just shivering. We decided to slowly get back on the freeway with the hazard lights on. We didn’t was to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. At speeds of under 50 mph we eventually reached our destination. The next morning we again put the hazard lights on and took the car to Avis where we explained what happened. The agent gave us a replacement vehicle and said that they would put the malfunctioning vehicle out of circulation. Speaking to others we found out that Honda vehicles have had runaway acceleration.
1.Driving on a straight road at about 45-50 MPH sudden abrupt braking for no reason . 2. Good thing I was wearing a seat belt , it was a very forceful brake action that pushed me forcefully forward, I was struck from behind by another vehicle. Visial minor damage to the rear bumper cover. 3. No it happened today 4-5-23 I plan on calling the dealer tomorrow. 4. The BRAKE message appeared at the exact time of the incident.
On four occasions I was required to slam in my brakes to avoid hitting a car in front of me on major highways in Virginia. When engaging the brakes the antilock brakes did not engage, the idle system (such as when you come to a red light and brake cuts the engine idle) kicked in and I lost the ability to steer. I had to release the brake for the idle to re-engage then hit the brake again. I finally was able to stop but left approximately 6 feet of skid marks on the highway. I have reported this to my dealership for them to say brakes are performing as designed and they did nothing. My car has been at the dealership for 2 weeks and I’m driving a loaner. Rear brakes have high pitch noise when backing up but dealership said they can’t recreate it therefore will do nothing. I had one service manager say he did recreate the noise and was fighting to get rear brakes replaced but then called back to say “I misspoke and Honda did not hear the noise so not replacing rear brakes. All phone messages are recorded on my cell phone. I have filed a complaint with Honda Corporate and also called local law enforcement to see where liability falls if my brakes fail again and I hit someone (faulty equipment charge). Was informed by police to have all service orders in the car to confirm I did all I could to get my brakes fixed. So three trips to dealership, almost 4 accidents, and car has approximately 24k miles on it. No idea if this is a sensor problem or several interactions between all the different systems but this is a major problem. Your engine shouldn’t cut off and cause steering problems when you brake the car and are still moving forward. No one can give me options with this car other then trade it in and get something else. This is not acceptable. Someone could be seriously injured. I don’t want to be that driver.
Hello, the car has this issue since i got it nrand new. Every time i drive in the rain or while its snowing, all lights on the dash board comes up and at least 50% of the options gets disabled. Like back up camera, windshield vipers, horn beeps non stop until you disconnect the battery and more. I see there is lots of people reporting same issue but honda dont want to help me with this issue. Went to homda dealer and they said $169 for diagnostics, then called and said its gonna be 2 hours which is $338 and even then saying they are not sure if it will take them 2hrs or 10 and i had no choice to tell them to stop and pay only $169. Please see the video for details Honda case# 13733111 https://youtu.be/ABoYlunVNVo
The infotainment screen repeatedly overheats and runs through ghost commands (commands not initiated by the user). This includes repeated, unsolicitated phone calls, texts, radio changes, GPS commands, system tones, etc. This is dangerously distracting and takes the drivers attention off the road ahead. I am writing to complain about Honda's handling of another safety related recall. I was told months ago that repairs would start in April 2024 for the defect passenger seat airbag sensor. Today I received a new notice claiming that they will not have parts for this recall for nearly 12 more months. This is the second time I have been unable to replace a safety part for my 2021 Honda Accord. There is no excuse for a huge multination company like Honda to refuse to expedite the manufacturing and installations of these safety related parts. Both individuals and dealers are stuck with vehicles that they cannot sell or trade due to this open recall. Please force Honda to expedite this issue.
I was driving on the freeway going 65mph when the automatic safety brake system slowed my car down abruptly for no reason at all. Luckily there wasn’t any other vehicles anywhere near me or it would have caused an accident. This wasn’t the only time the safety system activated without reason either. It also happened two other times in similar situations.
I was driving my 21 Honda Accord 1.5T on the highway and all of a sudden vehicle lost the power and Honda sensing / Emission warning lights came on. It almost cause a major accident and I was lucky enough to exit the freeway without incident. I drove to the Honda dealer and they found out one of the wire harnesses was chewed by a rodent which causes the whole issue. I did some research and found out that Honda was using less expensive Soybean base wire harnesses (instead of Petroleum base wire harnesses) to save the planet earth. This Soybean wires are easy target for rodents. This less expensive Soybean wire harness cost about $3000-3500 to replace and it's NOT fair to the consumer. Honda must re-call this Soybean wire harness before causing some major accident, especially on the freeway ( imaging your car losing power while driving 65-70 mph)
in the last 10 days, we there's been 4 incidents where the vehicle suddenly brakes when travelling on high speeds on the freeway out of nowhere. We were almost involved in a serious car accident yesterday where a vehicle behind us narrowly got out of the way. Took vehicle to honda dealership service and they claim they cant find any issues with braking system or sensors and they are not aware of any braking issues with this model. When i told them that i found online that theres an investigation opened last year about this issue in other accords, they had no idea what i was talking about and asked them to google it and they refuse. They refuse to fix the issue and suggest to just keep driving the vehicle since theres nothing for them to fix.
This car has randomly slammed on the breaks too many times to count and has been reported far too many times. Today while in the left lane on 95 southbound this car randomly slammed on the breaks so violently the speed was reduced 20 mph with seconds. This is incredibly dangerous, HOW LONG WILL YOU ALL THIS
Automatic emergency breaking system has benn activated in about 6 different ocassions while driving in the highway for no reason. No vehicles or obstacles in front of the car but car suddenly applied brakes stopping the car very suddenly while driving 70-75 miles per hour.
The electrical emergency brake locked up without warning as I was coming off the highway by the way of off ramp. Almost put the car in the guard rails! Brake has locked up twice now
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started jerking. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that some time after the incident, the vehicle was involved in a crash due to the vehicle jerking and all the lights illuminating on the instrument panel, resulting in damage to the front bumper. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the turbocharger needed to be replaced due to a missing screw. The dealer advised the contact to contact a local independent mechanic for assistance, who performed a repair before the crash. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a loose battery. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Vehicle tends to turn on brake warning light when there is nothing in the way. Driving with no obstacle in the way and the brake warning sign will display on dashboard. I’ve driven it on the highway with no cars and it will signal me to brake for no reason. I’m afraid the brakes might apply which could cause a serious accident.
Vehicle flashed "brake" on the dashboard and automatically engaged brakes despite nothing being ahead in the road. This occurred on a clear, sunny day around late morning on the interstate. Similar issues have occurred previously where the car flashed the "brake" warning light despite nothing being immediately ahead in the road. With this other incident the brakes were not engaged. This time the brakes engaged, then released, and the car continued. Later on that same trip, the "brake" warning would again flash despite no objects being immediately ahead in the road. The vehicle arbitrarily braking without warning or reason is extremely dangerous as it may cause vehicles behind including much larger trucks to slam into the car. The Honda dealer and Honda customer service were both contacted when the car on a previous occasion flashed "brake" despite no obstructions but neither has returned my messages.
My automatic emergency breaking kicked in today when there were no cars in front of me. My car began beeping loudly and flashing the word “BRAKE” and the car abruptly stopped in the middle of a very busy road. My daughter and I could’ve been very hurt but were lucky there was enough room behind us that we didn’t get rear ended. Nobody has checked this out yet because it just happened, but I am willing and open to having it looked at. I had a brief warning while the car flashed “BRAKE” and beeped, but there were no cars in front of us, and nothing I could do to make the car not slam on the brakes by itself.
Around 12:30pm last week, we were driving a 2021 Honda Accord on a straight and clear Northbound Freeway. All of a sudden, our car started to swerve left and right a few times, even though my wife tried to keep the car straight. She didn't steer the wheel much, fearing that the car may go sideways or whatever, but she just couldn't make the car straight. I was in the car and saw the dashboard flashing something red and could only remember some words like … hi…lock… In just a few seconds, she hit the barrier/divider separating the Northbound/Southbound freeway. After that, the car went straight and we were able to stop the car on the shoulder. It really put our life in danger but luckily no one got seriously injured. The major damage and concern is: the front left wheel got tucked up into the fender with a snapped lower controller arm connecting the front left wheel to suspension as in the photos. Honda refused to inspect the car because it got into an accident, but it’s clear something of the car likely the front left lower control arm went wrong / defective before the accident. We didn’t see any warning signs before the incident.
Honda Accord multi point serviced July 2nd at Hendricks Honda Easley SC. Immediately after I was driving on Haywood Rd. Greenville SC when my vehicle slammed on brakes for no reason. There was no car, animal, pedestrian or debris in road to cause to happen. As a result I experienced whip lash and was seen by a doctor and therapist July 5th. This has caused me to be afraid to drive my own car plus miss work plus enjoy my July 4th. I have reported this to Honda Motor Company and I also returned to Hendricks Honda to have a diagnostic test performed but all they did was put 20 miles on my vehicle and said I would have to bring it in and leave it for 3 - 4 hours. WHY? If you truly checked it out today I don't feel I need to return for them to just tell me anything. I really feel like they wasted time doing nothing today. There diagnostic was just driving my vehicle and adding unnecessary miles.
Car moving slowly and suddenly races and speeds UP. Hard to STOP it. Has happened twice, 8 to 10 Months apart.. First time was on a small driveway. Was able to STOP CAR , with no damages. 2nd occurrence i was pulling into a parking Space. Foot not on gas or brake and again the CAR accelerated. This Time the CAR hit a handicapped parking sign and pushed it over. The sign stopped the CAR with Assistance from me. There was a small drop in front of the CAR and a tree 10-15 Feet in front of the Hill. The passenger in my CAR would have been in severe trouble had I not gotten the CAR stopped. My husband thought i may have somehow activated the cruise control. But i was going less than 20 miles per hour each time. This could be a deadly problem if a Child or Someone Crossed in front of me.
The forward collision will automatically brake with nothing visibly in front of it. I have drove down the highway going 60mph. No car, animal, person, tall grass, etc in front of me or crossing the road and my vehicle pops up brake, brake, brake, and my car slams on break. This will cause someone to rear end me which can lead to a serious injury or even dead. I have contacted Honda corporate who instructed me to contact Townsend Honda in Tuscaloosa, AL. I contacted Townsend Honda and they stated that it was nothing they could do about it and they have other complaining of the same issue.
The paint is peeling off 6 months After I bought the car.South shore honda and American honda are not doing anything. I spoke with the manager at South shore honda,,willie Mejia who referred me to American Honda and American Honda referred me back to the dealer.
My car randomly slams on the breaks with no one/nothing in front of me! I’ve reported this to the dealership multiple times. This last time it occurred it brought me to a complete stop in the middle of the road.
Information console glitches randomly and will close out maps, play music, switch input sources, and will call/hangup without driver input. Initially happened maybe 1-2 times a month, however now happens constantly making the entire informatics system inoperable and is very distracting. I am unable to upload the videos of it glitching (this doesn’t allow video files) but can provide if needed
As I was driving on the highway out of nowhere the car jerked away from me. I was unable to maintain control again as it kept gearing itself to the left. The emergency brake didn’t come on at all and the car slide on the freeway and ended up flipping completely over the bridge to the other side injuring all passengers
A few months after I bought the car,the paint is peeling off.Today 4/25/22,it has gotten worse
