HONDA CIVIC WAS PARKED IN CAR PORT WITH PARKING BRAKE UP AND IN FIRST GEAR. AFTER DRIVER WAS OUT OF CAR FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THE CAR ROLLED DOWN DRIVEWAY INTO ANOTHER CAR. SECOND CAR WAS TOTALED. NEITHER THE PARKING BRAKE OR THE CAR BEING IN GEAR STOPPED THE CAR FROM ROLLING. *AK

AIR CONDITIONER DRAIN WAS CLOGGED, CAUSING LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER TO ACCUMULATE IN THE AIR DUCT WHICH RESULTED IN A LEAK INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHICH MOLDED THE CARPET. GROWING MOLD HAS CREATED A STRONG ODOR WITHIN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT CAUSING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE TO BECOME VERY SICK. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. THE BALL JOINT ON THESE VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE A CASTILATED NUT TO SECURE THE BALL IN POSITION , THE NUT CAN BACK OFF AND THE BALL WALLERS OUT ON THE STEERING ARM CAUSING TIRE ,BRAKE WARPAGE AND STEERING FAILURE WHEN THE SOCKET WALLORS OUT. THIS IS A PROBLEM ON 1997 1998 AND 1999 VEHICLES. I NOTICED THAT THEIR A COMPLAINT S OF BRAKE WARPAGE ON THESE VEHICLES IN YOOUR REPORTS AND A COUPLE OF WHEEL FAILURES. ENGINE KNOCK WHILE ENGINE IS COLD, HONDA CONFIRMS THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF A GAS ENGINE( PER HONDA NEWS LETTER. CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED TO SCHEDULE MAINTANCE, OIL CHANGES ETC. I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE MOTOR , WHICH IF I HAD KNEW BEFORE HAND I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VECHILE DUE TO THIS UNDER RATED PROBLEM .*AK

THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT SPONTANEOUSLY CAME ON WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AND SPEED DROPPED TO IDLING AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THERE WAS AN ODD ODOR. THE VEHICLE BECAME NORMAL RIGHT AFTER THE CONSUMER TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT. *YH

THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLES AFTER MARKET ALARM HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED IN ORDER FOR THE RECALL TO BE PERFORMED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE DEALER CHARGED THE CONSUMER TO HAVE THE ALARM RECONNECTED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT BUT WAS DENIED. *TS *NLM
