The contact owned a 2003 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH and attempting to proceed at a green light, the front passenger side of the vehicle crashed into the front driver-side of another vehicle. The air bags were not deployed. The contact noticed that there were bruises on both of her knees and endured neck and back pain from the impact. Medical attention was sought. No one else was injured that was not in the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to a dealer; the vehicle received a diagnosis stating that the vehicle was totaled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 154,311.
Air bag light came on for no reason. [XXX]
The contact owned a 2003 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, a semi-truck unexpectedly crossed into his lane which caused him to crash the truck's land gear. The air bags did not deploy upon impact and the seat belt pretensioners failed to restrain the contact. The contact was taken to the hospital via ambulance and was treated for multiple torn ligaments, a chest injury, and back pain. The other driver did not suffer any injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard and was later towed back to the contact's residence where it remained in his possession. The dealer and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure. A case was filed. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was unknown.
Both the side airbag and front airbag lights on the dashboard are on, and the mechanic I go to has no clue why the warning lights are on. I am concerned about my safety in the event of a crash, as I don’t know if they will deploy, or fail.
2003 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE SEAT BELT BUCKLE DUE TO CORROSION. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SELT BELT BUCKLE FAILED LATCH AFTER A ROLL-OVER CRASH. THE SOLE OCCUPANT (DRIVER) WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CRASH WAS FATAL.

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V501000(Air Bags) and NHTSA Campaign Number 19V182000 (Air Bags) would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Civic. The contact stated that she had previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V499000 (Air Bags) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the front driver's air bag replacement; however, upon picking up the vehicle, she noticed that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the warning light was illuminated prior to the recall repair. The vehicle then was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that a disconnected electrical wire for the air bag might have caused the impact sensor to fail. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. The VIN was not available.

The car was not in an incident it has a lot of recalls I would like fixed
My Air Bag light indicator light has come on and does not go off. My car is a 2003 Honda Civic LX module. I am the third owner of this vehicle. I bought it at Kelly Nissan on 248 E in Easton, Pa with 117,880 miles. It has 123,000 miles on it now. There were no other indicator lights on prior to this safety issue, air bag light indicator light coming on and it is still on at the present time, I need it fixed, because it has to be inspected by July 31, 2022, and I do not think it will pass Pa inspection. Gas leak because of faulty fuil filter that sits on top of tank under back seat. So many honda civic have had this problem should be a recall

On several occasions, while driving, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 164,000.
THE COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR IN MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH HEAT IN THE LOW BEAM WIRING. IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS LISTED UNDER OTHER CIVICS FROM THE MODEL YEAR RANGE, BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT MAY CAUSE THE LOW BEAMS TO GO OUT AND CAUSE VISIBILITY ISSUES WHEN THE WIRE BECOMES TOO HOT.
I ACCIDENT ON 7/23/2020 ONLY RIGHT PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND CAR WAS TOTALED. THE AIR BAGS WERE REPLACED BY HONDA MECHANIC FOR RECALL FOR AIRBAGS ON 8/31/19.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BUCKEYE HONDA (2615 N MEMORIAL DR, LANCASTER, OH 43130). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING AND THERE WAS ALSO AN OIL LEAK. ADDITIONALLY, THE HORN, FOG LIGHT SWITCH, AND CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN COVER WAS CUT. IN ADDITION TO THE FAILURES, THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S FRONT DOORS WERE UNABLE TO BE OPENED WITH THE KEY. THE CONTACT WAS ONLY ABLE TO UNLOCK THE TRUNK WITH THE KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER FOR AN IGNITION SWITCH REPAIR WHERE THE KEYS WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 190,000.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IF I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND COAST, THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF 5TH INTO NEUTRAL. *TR
I WAS IN ACCIDENT YESTERDAY BECAUSE MY CAR ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF BREAKING AND I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IN THE DRIVE UP LANE OF WALGREENS PHARMACY. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS HURT TO MY KNOWLEDGE. BUT WHY DID THIS HAPPEN.
NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, BUT I AM WORRIED SOMETHING WILL. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAGS ON MY CAR ARE BEYOND RIDICULOUS AT THIS POINT AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY WHEN DRIVING MY ONLY CAR. THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY BEEN RECALLED TWICE NOW AND IT SEEMS THAT THE AIRBAG PROBLEMS HAVE STILL NOT BEEN RESOLVED. HONDA IS UNABLE TO FIX THE CURRENT ISSUE UNTIL THEY HAVE THE PARTS, WHICH COULD BE A LONG TIME. I AM EITHER FORCED TO GET A NEW CAR OR DRIVE IN A CAR THAT MIGHT HAVE AIRBAGS THAT WON'T DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. IS SOMETHING GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT ALL THE CARS ON THE ROAD WITH THESE PROBLEMS.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE AND WAS GIVEN AN IV. SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AND TREATED FOR INJURIES TO HER STOMACH, CHEST, RIGHT LEG, AND RIGHT FOOT. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO TREATED FOR A CONCUSSION. THE CONTACT'S PASSENGER NOR THE OTHER DRIVER WERE TREATED FOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AT THE SCENE AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WENT HONDA OF SALEM (1101 VAN NESS AVE NE, SALEM, OR 97301) AND WAS RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 210,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *DT*JB
I HAVEN'T HAD THIS CAR IN OVER 4 YEARS PLEASE REMOVE FROM YOUR LIST
THE FUEL PUMP MODULE PLASTIC TOP DEVELOPED SMALL STRESS CRACKS ON IT AND SPRAYED FUEL ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPE CAUSING A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. I DROVE THIS DEFECT FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS AND DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE FUEL ODOR WAS COMING FROM UNTIL THE LEAK GOT WORSE AND LEAKED ONTO THE GROUND FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER REFUSED TO SUBMIT MY REPAIR CLAIM FOR WARRANTY OR SAFETY REPAIR CONSIDERATION NOR FORWARD THIS SAFETY DEFECT INVESTIGATION REQUEST TO THE FACTORY. I REPLACED THE ENTIRE FUEL PUNP MODULE AT MY EXPENSE TO REMEDY THE LARGE FUEL LEAK.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER SERVICE WAS PERFORMED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG INFLATOR. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. HONDA OF STEVENS CREEK (4590 STEVENS CREEK BLVD, SAN JOSE, CA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR HAS BEEN RECALLED. I CAN REPLACE IT FREE. BUT THE REPLACEMENT WILL BE AN ACT OF FUTILITY BECAUSE THE SRS LIGHT IS ON, THE SENSOR IS PROBABLY BROKEN, AND IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG WON'T GO OFF. (I HAVE NOT SCHEDULED THE POINTLESS ACT.) I SPOKE TO SOMEONE IN COMPLAINTS. IF THE SRS LIGHT IS DUE TO A SENSOR PROBLEM, REPLACEMENT WILL COST ANOTHER $1900. DEALERS ARE PRIVATELY OWNED AND THEY CHARGE WHAT THEY CHARGE. NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT HONDA MAKES THE SENSOR AND PRICES THEM HIGH. THAT, IN TURN, FORCES DEALERS TO CHARGE A LOT.
TO VERIFY MY DEFECTIVE ACTUATOR CLAIMS.. ALL OF MY REPAIR HISTORY IS LOCATED AT BOCH HONDA,279 PROVIDENCE HIGHWAY, NORWOOD MA. 02062 781-619-6776 I PURCHASED NEW A 2003 HONDA CIVIC EX (7/2003) . SINCE I PURCHASED IT, I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED ISSUES WITH DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK . I HAD THE DOOR ACTUATOR REPLACED TWICE FIRST 7/20/13 MY MILAGE BEING 44,129 AND AGAIN NOW 8/19/19 WITH ONLY 71,718 MILES. ON 1/25/14 I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND I HAD TO HAVE TUMBLERS REPLACE AND LOCK CYLINDER REPLACED. THE PAST 3 YEARS I HAVE COMMENTED AND HAD THEM CHECK THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF LOCK NOISE AND ALIGNMENT. I HAVE ALL MY REPAIRS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR SO THEY CAN PROVIDE MY COMPLETE VEHICLE REPAIR HISTORY IF NEEDED. MY CAR IS IN A GARAGE SO IT IS LESS EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS AND I NEVER WAIT TO HAVE ANY CONCERNED CHECKED AND TAKE GREAT CARE TO KEEP MY CAR SAFE. MY CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN STATIONARY WHEN THE PROBLEM AROSE IN PARK OR WHEN I AM OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR. I HAVE A RECORDED VIDEO OF THE ACTUAL NOISE THE LOCK MADE FROM 8/19/19 BEFORE THE REPAIR WAS MADE. I HAD MY VEHICLE IN 4 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH FOR A AIRBAG RECALL AND A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND A GAS DOOR ISSUES THAT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED AM MENTED EACH TIME THE NOISE OF THE LOCK WAS GETTING LOUDER.

WHILE MY VEHICLE BEING STATIONARY, I CAN'T LOCK OR UNLOCK BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE USING MY KEY. IT HAPPENS EVERY 2 YEARS.
I HAD TO REPAIR A KNOWN HEADLIGHT ISSUE FOR 2003 CIVICS. THE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING ON DIM, AND THE WIRES HAD COMPLETELY MELTED AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL INFORMATION FOR AFFECTED CIVICS. MY VIN IS NOT LISTED AS PART OF THE RECALL. ALSO, MY GEAR SELECTOR CAN BE ACCIDENTALLY PLACED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT PRESSING A BRAKE OR BUTTON ON THE KNOB. FOR EXAMPLE, MY DAUGHTER REACHED TO CHANGE THE RADIO STATION, AND ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE GEAR SELECTOR. THE CAR SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) WITHOUT PRESSING OF BREAK OR BUTTON. WE WERE IN MOTION, AND AT FIRST, I THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR, AND I LOOKED DOWN TO REALIZE IT HAD BEEN PLACED INTO NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2003 BRAND NEW FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP, AND I AM THE ONLY OWNER.

BECAUSE OF THIS REASON, MY CHEST HIT THE STEERING. ALSO AIR BAG DIDN'T OPEN. GOOD NEWS IS NO FRACTURE BUT MY CHEST HITTED STEERING REALLY BAD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CHECK THE VIN ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING, WHERE IT PROTRUDES FROM THE FUEL TANK, IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS FROM WHICH GASOLINE IS OOZING. THE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE LEAKING IS SUBSTANTIAL, AND IT COLLECTS IN THE DEPRESSION AROUND THE HOUSING. THIS IS AN APPARENT FIRE HAZARD, AS WELL AS A SOURCE OF GASOLINE EVAPORATION AIR POLLUTION. WHILE LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT PART ONLINE, IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN HONDA CIVIC'S. BECAUSE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT MAY NOT BE READILY OBSERVABLE BY THE OWNER, IT IS LIKELY TO GO UNDETECTED AND THEREFORE UNREPAIRED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD, THUS CREATING A LONGTERM POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND AIR POLLUTION RISK.
CRUISE CONTROL WAS STUCK IN ACCELERATE AND COULD NOT TURN IT OFF ON THE INTERSTATE. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.NEUTRAL AND FULL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES WOULDN'T STOP IT. TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKES WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE IT MORE.I WENT 8 MILES WITH FULL BRAKES IN NEUTRAL TILL I WAS ABLE TO STOP IT. NONE OF THE OFF SWITCHES MMADE ANY DIFFERENCE, I'M LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND THAT I DIDN'T HURT ANYONE. IT STARTED WHEN I WAS ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO THE INTERSTATE IN OSSEO WI.I SLOWED DOWN TO MERGE,THEN CRUISE CONTROL ACCELERATED UNSTOPPABLE.
TAKATA INFLATORS, WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING STILL, ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON & STAYS ON, BRAKES FAULTY WHILE DRIVING LOUD NOISE, AND I HAVE TO PRESS DOWN HARD ON THE BRAKES FOR IT TO SLOW DOWN, DRIVING/STABILIZED LOW VISIBILITY DUE TO LIGHTS, IT'S VERY HARD TO TELL IF THE LIGHTS ARE ON OUR NOT INSIDE & OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHILE DRIVING NOTICED THE BRAKES ARE UNSTABLE. AIR BAG SENSOR IS ALWAYS ON, OPEN DOOR INDICATORS DON'T WORK, DROVE CAR AND DOOR WASN'T FULLY CLOSED ALTHOUGH I KNEW I CLOSED THE DOOR FULLY, DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED UNEXPECTEDLY. "TAKATA RECALL"..THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY CAR RANDOMLY COMES ON A LOT, I WORRY THAT IT WILL DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. 2ND CONCERN: SUSPENSION IN MY CAR IS VERY BAD, I HAD MY MECHANIC CHECK IT AND HE SAID HE HAD LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS IN LOTS OF CIVICS, HE CAN'T FIND PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL PREVIOUS COMPLAINT IN FEB. 2018, AND NO ACTION TAKEN, COMPLAINT # 11079970, AIR BAG RECALL, RESULTING IN NO ACTION TAKEN FROM HONDA, HEAD-ON ACCIDENT OCCURRED, AND AIR-BAGS SHOULD'VE DEPLOYED, BUT DIDN'T. INJURIES INCURRED. HONDA HAS REFUSED ANY PARTAKING ON MATTER. I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, IN THE TURNING LANE, CAR APPEARED OUT OF NOWHERE, AND I HIT HER HEAD-ON TO THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT BUMPER, LIGHT, TIRE. THIS WAS A NO-FAULT ACCIDENT ON THE POLICE REPORT.
AT ALL TIMES TURN SIGNALS BEGAN TO WORK INTERMEDIATELY. HAD FUSES AND RELAYS CHECKED (NOT THE PROBLEM). SOON AFTER DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. HAD BULB CHANGED, WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 DAYS THEN BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ALONG WITH BOTH HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS AND EMERGENCY FLASHERS. HAVE TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC IN WHICH THE TURN LEVER WAS REPLACED AND STILL DIDNT REPAIR ANYTHING. NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM. ALL SYMPTOMS SEEM TO FALL INTO CATEGORY WITH RECALL #:12V136000 BUT WHEN ENTERING MY VIN RECALL ISNT SHOWN. PLEASE HELP! I AM TAKING A HUGE RISK DRIVING IN THE DAY AND ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND STAYED ON
TAKATA RECALL: THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS TIMES WHERE I HAVE EITHER CALLED OR WENT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE AIRBAG INFLATORS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE, FIXED TO AVOID HARM TO MYSELF OR OTHERS. IN ALMOST THREE YEARS, I HAVE NOT ONCE HEARD BACK ABOUT THE DEALERSHIP RECEIVING PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE, NOR WAS I TOLD ABOUT THE RECALL WITH THE WIRING HARNESS TERMINAL FOR THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD THAT CAN GET PEOPLE KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED.
TAKATA RECALL? I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WITH A MAJOR IMPACT TO MY CAR AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS INFLATED. I WAS STOPPED ON A FREEWAY OFF-RAMP AND ANOTHER VEHICLE REAR-ENDED ME WITH FULL SPEED PUSHING ME TO COLLIDE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HUNTINGTON HONDA (1055 JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, NY 11743, PHONE NUMBER: (631) 423-6000) TO BE REPAIRED FOR AN UNKNOWN AIR BAG RECALL. WHILE DRIVING FROM THE DEALER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS STICKING OUT OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE HORN FAILED TO FUNCTION. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK, THE RADIO FAILED, AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A HIGH CURB, WHICH PUSHED THE ENGINE BACK. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN FOOT THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NARDY HONDA SMITHTOWN (559 MIDDLE COUNTRY RD, ST JAMES, NY 11780, PHONE NUMBER: (855) 738-2920). THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000.
