A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED RIGHT ARM THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LEAKING AND THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT MISSED THE DEADLINE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE OR PURCHASE A NEW VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 163,000.
CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK, JUST SHY OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. CAR ONLY HAS 113K MILES. DRIVING HOME AND SMELLED COOLANT, POPPED HOOD AND SAW THAT THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK WAS SEEPING COOLANT, NO HOSES ARE NEARBY TO CAUSE LEAK.
"TAKATA RECALL". THE DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ON CONSISTENTLY SINCE 2017 INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT FUNCTIONING. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHEN GOING DOWNHILL, THE RPM WILL INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY WITHOUT USING THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. BOTH SUN VISORS ARE BROKEN...EACH SIDE CAME APART FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE CD PLAYER QUIT WORKING IN 2016. THE AIR CONDITIONER QUIT WORKING IN 2016.
ON AUGUST 31, 2017 WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING AND SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE HOOD SUDDENLY. FORTUNATELY I MANAGED TO PULL OVER THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY BESIDE THE HIGHWAY OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A FATAL SITUATION. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEAN HONDA AT PITTSBURGH WHERE THEY PERFORMED THE DIAGNOSIS TO FIND THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY IDENTIFIED THAT THERE WAS CRACK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK WHICH HAS CAUSED THE COOLANT TO LEAK FROM THE ENGINE AND HENCE OVERHEATING OF THE ENGINE HAS HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED AND FEW OTHER PARTS AS WELL (LIKE SPARK PLUG ETC.) TO MAKE THE CAR RUNNING AGAIN WHICH WOULD COST ME AROUND $4000. I DID SOME RESEARCH OVER THE INTERNET REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND FOUND THAT MOST OF THE 2006 TO 2009 CIVICS HAD THE ENGINE CRACK ISSUE AND TSB 10-048 WAS ISSUED AND THE WARRANTY OF SUCH ENGINES WERE EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS AND THAT WOULD COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE IF SUCH ISSUES ARE FOUND. I CHECKED WITH MY SERVICE CONSULTANT AT DEAN HONDA IF THIS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. HE DID A VIN INQUIRY AND SAID THE WARRANT HAS EXPIRED 10 DAYS AGO AND THIS WON'T BE COVERED. (THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE DATE OF THE CAR WAS 22-AUG-2007 AND THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED TO ME ON 31-AUG-2017). THIS IS A BIG BLOW TO ME. THIS IS MY FIRST CAR IN THE US. I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS THE SECOND OWNER IN JULY 2015 WITH ONLY 36000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE HARDLY DRIVEN 15000 MILES OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT AND THAT'S WHY I PURCHASED IT WITH CONFIDENCE. CONSIDERING CUSTOMER'S SAFETY, THESE ENGINES NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY HONDA AND REPLACED WITH NEW ONES OR AT LEAST THE WARRANTY OF THESE ENGINES NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED FURTHER (FOR AT LEAST FOR 5 MORE YEARS). I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SURVIVE A FATAL ACCIDENT.
WE HAVE A 2007 HONDA CIVIC WITH 62200 MILES AND NOTICED IT STARTED RUNNING HOT AND ROUGH IDLE. TOOK IT IN TO A REPAIR SHOP WE HAVE USED FOR YEARS( THAT ALSO DOES MANUFACTURES AUTHORIZED MAINTENANCE) FOR THE PROBLEM, AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK. WE ARE TWO MONTHS TO THE DAY OUT OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE FROM HONDA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THIS WAS MY WIFE'S MAIN VEHICLE, AND THANKFULLY THIS WAS NOT A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT LEFT HER STRANDED. THIS IS NOT A SMALL COMPONENT FAILURE. THIS LEAVES THE CAR UNDRIVABLE AND PRACTICALLY WORTHLESS FOR TRADE-IN OR RESALE.
THE ENGINE BLOCK CRACKED AND BEGAN LEAKING COOLANT. I WAS DRIVING AND SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING, AND MY CAR WAS SMOKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. IT IS 6 MONTHS PASSED THE 10 WARRANTY. I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS ISSUE, AS NUMEROUS PEOPLE HAVE RECOMMENDED ME TO THIS SITE. IT IS VERY UPSETTING TO ME.
ENGINE BLOCK CRACKED DUE TO MANUFACTURING DEFECT, OVERHEATED AT 60 MPH ON INTERSTATE 270.
DEFECTIVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS. A DESIGN ISSUE THAT HAS MANY OWNERS REPAIRING (COST OF $800) MOUNTS AT 65-85,000 MILES. CAR VIBRATES AFTER THE CAR IS COLD ESPECIALLY WHEN IN REVERSE. AFTER ENGINE WARMS UP, THE VIBRATIONS DISSAPPEAR EXCEPT WHEN THE GAS IS RELEASED AND ENGINE BREAKING OCCURS. IF CLUTCH IS DISSENGAGUED THE VIBRATIONS DECREASE. THIS ISSUE IS AS COMMON AS THE VISOR PROBLEM FROM A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND IS A KNOWN DESIGN FLAW FROM THE FACTORY. ISSUE OCCURS OVER VEHICLE LIFE AFTER 65,000 MILES
"CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK" I OWN A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. I PURCHASED IT NEW FROM A HONDA DEALER AND JUST RECENTLY STARTING EXPERIENCING A COOLANT LEAK. AFTER A 35 MINUTE COMMUTE TO WORK, AS I GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE, I WOULD NOTICE A BURNT COOLANT SMELL. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC AND AS SOON AS I MENTION THE WORD COOLANT...MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THE AMERICAN HONDA CORPORATION IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2006 TO 2009 HONDA CIVIC'S THAT HAVE CRACK ENGINE BLOCKS WHICH CAUSES COOLANT TO LEAK OUT. I WAS FLABBERGASTED! I PURCHASED MY HONDA DUE TO THEIR REPUTATION OF RELIABILITY AND LONGEVITY. HOW COULD THEY BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND ONLY ISSUE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND NOT A RECALL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I CONTACTED THE AMERICAN HONDA CORPORATION AND THEY SAID BASED ON MY VIN#, MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD BY 4 MONTHS AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. I FEEL THE NHTSA NEED TO FORCE HONDA TO ISSUE A RECALL ON ALL HONDA CIVICS BETWEEN THE YEARS OF 2006 TO 2009 WITH CRACKED ENGINE BLOCKS. I HAVE READ IT WAS DUE TO POOR CASTING THAT CAUSED THESE ENGINE BLOCKS TO CRACK. HONDA WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE CALLS AND COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THEY HAVE SOLD MILLIONS OF THESE VEHICLES TO UNBEKNOWNST AMERICANS.
CRACKED BLOCK 6 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY PERIOD ENDED AND THEY WONT HELP ME AT ALL,
MY CAR ALWAYS STAYED AT THE APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURE. NEVER ANY PROBLEMS. HAD MY OIL CHANGED FAITHFULLY AND FLUID CHECKED. AT ABOUT 84,000 MILES, MY ANTIFREEZE LEAKED QUITE EXTENSIVELY, MY ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND MY ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED. NO RYME OR REASON FOR IT. I HEARD THAT HONDA GAVE CIVIC OWNERS A 10-YEAR WARRANTY FROM DATE OF PURCHASE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED 10-YEARS AND 3 MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF PURCHASE (MAY 2007). WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I WAS DOING CITY STREETS AND NOTICED IT WHEN IT WAS STATIONERY.
2007 CIVIC EX, 124,000 MILES, WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR INTERSTATE ENGINE LEAKED COOLANT & OVERHEATED. PULLED OFF INTERSTATE & TOWED HOME. PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS: CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK. HONDA ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IS AN ENGINE DESIGN DEFECT AND ISSUED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10-048 EXTENDING ENGINE WARRANTY TO 10 YRS (120 MOS), UNLIMITED MILEAGE, FREE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. MY ENGINE CRACKED AT 10 YRS, 3 MOS. CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE (CA) 800-999-1009. HONDA AGENT SAID CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, HONDA CAN'T HELP ME. SPOKE TO HONDA AGENT'S REGIONAL MANAGER; SAME STORY, UNWILLING TO HELP. IF ENGINE CRACKED 3 MOS EARLIER, FREE REPLACEMENT. I OFFERED TO SHARE REPAIR COST, HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER SAID NO, AND SHE WOULD NOT LET ME SPEAK TO HER SUPERIOR. SHE TOLD ME TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION IF I FELT HONDA OWED ME SOMETHING. NEW ENGINE IS A $4000-$5000 FIX, MORE THAN VALUE OF CAR. I'M STUCK WITH WORTHLESS CIVIC WITH CRACKED ENGINE AND ONLY 124K MILES. WILL NEVER BUY HONDA AGAIN AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE. BUYER BEWARE OF USED 2006-2009 HONDA CIVICS.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM AN UNKNOWN RECALL CAMPAIGN AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. DRIVER SIDE VISOR BROKEN. DANGLES AND DANGEROUSLY BLOCKS DRIVER'S VISION. IT WAS PART OF RECALL IN 2012. HAD IT REPAIRED BY HONDA 2/7/2012 AS INSTRUCTED. IT HAS FAILED AGAIN...SAME EXACT PROBLEM. NOTIFIED HONDA BUT WAS ADVISED OUT OF WARRANTY. MY OPINION IS WARRANTY SHOULD NOT EXPIRE ON A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART. THEY SIMPLY INSTALLED ANOTHER VISOR OF THE SAME DESIGN KNOWING THAT IT TOO WOULD FAIL.
AFTER DRIVING MY CAR 3 MILES, I NOTICED STEAM COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I PARKED THE CAR AND IT HAD A SMELL OF RADIATOR FLUID. AFTER LETTING IT COOL, I LOOKED INSIDE THE RADIATOR AND NOTICED THERE WAS NO FLUID LEFT. WE FILLED IT UP AND BROUGHT IT TO THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THEY SAID THE ENGINE BLOCK HAD CRACKED. HONDA HAD ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 10 YEARS FOR THE ORIGINAL SELL DATE FOR CARS WITH THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, MY CAR IS OUT OF THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY BY 6 MONTHS. HONDA WILL NOT HELP OUT IN ANY WAY SINCE I AM OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD EVEN THOUGH IT'S A KNOWN FAULT.
CAN'T GET DEALER TO REPLACE AIRBAG (PASSENGER) ON RECALL. THEY SAY PARTS ARE BACKORDERED. SERVICE BULLETIN, 08-001 WAS NEVER INFORMED OF AND NOW COST IS BORNE BY USER TO REPLACE FAULTY SUSPENSION PARTS
A COUPLE DAYS AFTER PURCHASING A 2007 HONDA CIVIC WITH 150,000 MILES, IT SUDDENLY OVERHEATED WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT AND BEGAN SMOKING AS I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. UPON EXAMINING THE CAR, THERE WAS NO COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR (DESPITE ADDING COOLANT, THE COOLANT LEVELS CONSISTENTLY DROP BUT THERE IS NO EXTERNAL LEAK). FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD IN TIME. HONDA RECOGNIZED THAT THE ENGINE BLOCKS FOR 2007 HONDA CIVICS WERE DEFECTIVE (HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 10-048) BUT NO LONGER COVERS REPAIRS FOR THE SAFETY RISK THAT THEIR DEFECTIVE ENGINE BLOCKS POSE TO DRIVERS OF THESE VEHICLES AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD WHEN THEIR CARS OVERHEAT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AMERICAN HONDA OF SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY HALF OF THE REPAIR COST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
MY CAR IS DARK PEARL BLUE. THE PAINT BEGAN PEELING ON TRUNK AND ROOFTOP OF CAR AROUND APRIL 2017. IT BEGAN AS WHITE CHALKY SPLOTCHES AND HAS GROWN. TODAY MOST OF ROOFTOP IS EXPOSED ALONG WITH TRUNK AND NOW TOPS OF DOORS STARTING TO PEEL. THE REPS AT MY DEALERSHIP STATED THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR THIS PAINT. EVERYTHING I READ STATES HONDA USED CHEAPER PAINT ON CERTAIN YEAR VEHICLES. THEY SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND PROVIDE OWNERS WITH PAINT JOBS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ONLY PULLED IN ODYSSEY VEHICLES AND NOT ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE.
RECEIVED LETTER FROM HONDA DATED APRIL 2017. CALLED DEALER-BOB HOWARD ON APRIL 20, 2017 TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT. THEY ADVISED THEY WILL CALL ME AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. THEIR PHONE NUMBER IS 405-753-8700.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS WET AND COOLANT WAS LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER (HERB CHAMBERS HONDA, 1186 COMMONWEALTH AVENUE, BOSTON, MA 02134, (617) 731-0100) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 210,000.
TAKATA RECALL: I TOOK MY CAR TO POWAY HONDA (POWAY, CA 92064). THEY CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO FIX THIS RECALL. I DON'T THINK IT WAS FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY THE RECALL. MY WIFE HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO DROP IT OFF AT THE DEALER. THE DEALER CALLED ME TELLING ME THAT THE SRS LIGHT WAS ON WHEN MY WIFE DROPPED IT OFF (I LATER FOUND OUT FROM MY WIFE THAT THEY WERE LYING ABOUT THIS - THE SRS LIGHT WAS NOT ON WHEN SHE DROPPED IT OFF). THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE FIXING THE RECALL DIDN'T CAUSE THE LIGHT TO GO OFF THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG AND THEY NEEDED TO RUN ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTICS FOR WHICH THEY CHARGED ME $120.88. AFTER RUNNING THE DIAGNOSTICS THEY SAID THAT IT WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR... I TOLD THEM THAT WAS WHAT THE RECALL WAS FOR, THEN HE QUICKLY CHANGED HIS STORY A COUPLE OF TIMES FROM IT BEING THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG AND THEN THE PASSENGER AGAIN. IT SOUNDED A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS, AND MY SUSPICIONS WERE CONFIRMED AFTER TALKING TO MY WIFE, WHO STATED THAT THE SRS NOR ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHT WAS ON.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY FOR THE ENGINE REPAIR HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
ENGINE BLOCK CRACKS THAT CREATE AN UNSAFE CONDITION AND PREMATURE DEGRADATION OF THE MOTOR AND ITS INTERNAL COMPONENTS. THE LEAKS OF COOLANT SEEM TO OCCUR WHILE THE MOTOR IS RUNNING.
THE CENTER THIRD BRAKE LIGHT FAILS REPEATEDLY. IT IS AN LED LIGHT AND SAFETY FACTOR. I AM ON MY 3RD LIGHT ON A 2007 MODEL. FIRST REPLACED IN DEC. 2010, AND AGAIN ON DEC. 2016 AN LED LIGHT SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN THEN THAT.
TAKATA RECALL THE RECALL OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLR BY LATE SUMMER/FALL OF 2016. IT'S ALMOST THE END OF THE YEAR AND THE HONDA RECALL PAGE STILL SAYS RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE.
TAKATA INFLATORS -- AIRBAG RECALL LETTER RECEIVED JULY 2016 WHICH SAID PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN LATE SUMMER/FALL. LETTER SAID "HONDA WILL SEND YOU ANOTHER LETTER WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE". IT'S MID DECEMBER NOW AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A "PARTS AVAILABLE" LETTER FROM HONDA. VERY INCONVENIENT TO "AVOID HAVING PASSENGER IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT". JUST CALLED LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE HAD PARTS FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THEY DON'T KNOW WHY HONDA NEVER SENT THE SECOND LETTER. IN THE MEANTIME, WE HAVE BEEN AT RISK AND INCONVENIENCED. THIS IS A BIG MISTAKE ON THEIR PART AND THERE SHOULD BE FOLLOW UP. *TR
AS IM DRIVING DOWN THE EASTERN COAST ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR STARTED TO OVER HEAT AND WAS SEVERLY LEAKING ENGINE COOLANT. I CONTACTED THE HONDA OF SERRAMONTE WHEN I FIRST GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL IN OCTOBER 2016. SINCE THEN I HAVE CALLED TWICE AND THEY TOLD ME IT MAY TAKE A MONTH TO GET THE PARTS IN ONCED I HAVE ORDERED IT, WHICH I DID. I THEN CALLED AFTER ANOTHER TWO MONTHS AND THEY FORWARDED ME TO THE PERSON THAT IS IN CHARGE OF THE RECALL. SHE ONLY HAD A VOICEMAIL AND I LEFT ONE FOR HER. EACH TIME I CALLED, I GOT FORWARDED FROM PERSON TO PERSON AND NO ONE REALLY HELPING ME DEAL WITH THE ISSUE. THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK OF MY VEHICLE CAUSING IT TO LEAK COOLANT, WHICH LED TO THE VEHICLE OVERHEATING. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVE MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY CAR AND NOW NEED A NEW ENGINE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT CAME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENSION WARRANTY FOR CRACK BLOCKAGE IN THE ENGINE OF HONDA'S BETWEEN 2006-EARLY 2009. FOR THAT I TOOK MY CAR IN BUT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IS ONLY OFFERING TO PAY FOR THE CRACKED BLOCK AND NOT THE DAMAGE DONE DO TO THIS ISSUE. NO LIGHT CAME ON TO WARN THAT THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING, THEREFORE I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS AN ISSUE UNTIL I COULD SMELL IT.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THIS SPRING IN MAY 2016. IT HAS ONLY 46,000 MILES ON IT AS OF TODAY 1/9/17. I HAD NOTICED THIS FALL WHEN IT WAS GETTING COOLER OUTSIDE A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. ON JULY 4, 2016 MY VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT I PULLED OVER JUST IN TIME TO ADD COOLANT AND WATER. 6 WEEKS LATER SAME THING. I PULLED IN PARKING SPOT AND FILLED IT UP AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS FINE. ON AUGUST 28TH I WAS DRIVING UP MT. SOLEDAD GOING 25 MPH WITH AC ON LOWEST NOTCH RPMS BELOW 3. THEN AS I STOPPED TO TURN LEFT MY ENGINE STOPPED (SEIZED ) I PULLED MY E-BRAKE AND SAFELY HAD MY BF WITH BY STANDER PUSH MY VEHICLE WHILE IN NEUTRAL. THEN I TRIED TO START VEHICLE NOTHING. AAA CAME OUT SAID MAYBE ITS FUEL PUMP, FUSES, SPARK PLUGS. THE NEXT DAY AFTER MY CAR HAD BEEN SITTING. I SPENT ALL AFTERNOON TROUBLE SHOOTING FOR ALTERNATOR, FUSE, FUEL PUMP USSUES. NEXT DAY MY MECHANIC FRIEND CAME OVER TROUBLESHOOTING THE SPARK PLUGS, FUEL PUMP AND DID ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST NONE. MY HEART SANK. THEN HE SAID THIS CAR HAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT I ASKED HIM HOW MUCH A REPAIR WOULD BE OR NEW ENGINE HE SAID ABOUT 1800. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUNDS 100S MAYBE 1000S OF REPORTS ON THIS SECRET EXTENDED WARRANTY ON CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK ON MODELS 2006 TO 2009 HONDA CIVIC. MOST REPORTS WERE THAT HONDA COULDN'T DO ANYTHING IF YOUR VEHICLE WAS DEEMED SALVAGE. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. THE PREVIOUS OWNER MY MOTHER OR, MYSELF COULD'VE BEEN IN BAD ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN ZERO ACCIDENTS THAT WOULD IMPACT THE ENGINE ASIDE FROM TINY FENDER BENDERS IN THE SHOPPING MARKET. I BELIEVE ALL HONDA OWNERS SHOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUES WITH BAD ENGINE BLOCK. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. A LAWSUIT WOULD HAVE FOLOWED IF I ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL DUE TO THEIR POOR QUALITY DANGEROUS DEFECT WITH ENGINE BLOCK. THIS ISN'T OVER. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE.
TAKATA RECALL- I WAS PARKED IN MICHAELS CRAFT STORES PARKING LOT. I PULLED FORWARD TO LEAVE I DIDNT SEE THE CURB/MEDIAN/SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF ME.
