I AM A CARE GIVER TO MY ELDERLY MOTHER (87) WHOM IS UNABLE TO SIT IN THE BACK OF MY SMALL CIVIC. IF FOR ANY REASON I HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE WITH MY MOM I WOULD NEED A RENTAL CAR. BUT AFTER CONTACTING HONDA CORP. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR RENTAL WHEN THEY DON'T FEEL RESPONSIBLE . ANYONE RIDING IN PASSENGER SIDE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF AN ACCIDENT OCURED BUT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. ADDING TO MY STRESS ALREADY UNDER CARING FOR MY ALTHEIMER MOTHER. I GUESS I'M LUCKY THEY ARE GOING TO GET IT IN WITHIN EIGHT DAYS WOW .. WHY ARE THEY NOT BEING INVESTIGATED AND REPAYING OWNERS FOR THERE INCONVEINCE.

TAKATA RECALL SINCE RECEIVING A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL THIS PAST JULY 2016, I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TALK WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT BOB HOWARD HONDA IN EDMOND, OK. I HAVE LEFT SEVERAL VOICE MESSAGES AND HAVE NOT OBTAINED A RESPONSE AS OF THE WRITING OF THIS. OVER THREE MONTHS OF WAITING FOR A RESPONSE HAS DRIVEN ME TO FORMALLY FILE A COMPLAINT AND I SEEK YOUR ASSISTANCE IN GETTING THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. *TR

REAR WHEEL BEARINGS MAKINGS LOUD NOISE WHILE DRIVING. IF WHEEL BEARING WERE TO GO OUT IT WOULD BE A BIG SAFETY PROBLEMS WHILE DRIVING.
AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE SPOKEN TO HONDA AND THEY HAVE NO ESTIMATE FOR WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PASSENGER AIRBAG PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE BACKORDER IS SO LARGE THAT THEY AREN'T EVEN ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE THE ORDER ITSELF AT THIS TIME. THEIR SOLUTION IS TO HAVE NOBODY RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR WITH ONLY ONE CAR, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THEY ARE PUTTING US IN DANGER AND REFUSING TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY BY TRYING TO PASS US OFF TO THE DEALERSHIP.

TPMS INDICATOR IS ALWAYS ON. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER TO GET SERVICE BUT THEY HAVE SAID IT'S AN ELECTRICAL GLITCH CANNOT BE FIXED. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE IF A REAL PROBLEM OCCURS NOT KNOWING WHEN TIRES NEED ADJUSTMENT.

TAKATA RECALL WHY IS THE PARTS FOR THIS TAKING SO LONG? I RECEIVED A LETTER IN JULY INDICATING THE PARTS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE IN LATE SUMMER/FALL AND TO AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. IS THERE AN ETA ON THE AVAILABLE PARTS?
TAKATA RECALL--I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA ABOUT A RECALL ON MY 2009 HONDA CIVIC NHTSA RECALL 16V-346. IT STATED THAT PROPELLANT WAFERS IN SOME OF THE INFLATORS MY DEGRADE OVER TIME, WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY TO THE PASSENGER, AND NOT TO ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS WAS IN JULY 2016. THE RECALL IS STILL NOT REPAIRABLE ACCORDING TO THE WEBSITE. FOUR MONTHS IS EXCESSIVE TO ASK ME TO NOT USE MY PASSENGER SEAT!! I NEED THE CAR FIXED, SO MY PASSENGER WILL BE SAFE.
TAKATA RECALL. HONDA GAVE NOTIFICATION IN JULY 2016 THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. "HONDA SUGGESTS THAT YOU AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR CAN BE PERFORMED." THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. HONDA SAID THAT "THE REMEDY PARTS NEEDED TO CONDUCT PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALLS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE IN LATE SUMMER/FALL OF 2016." IT IS NOW NOVEMBER AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. HONDA NEEDS TO PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE IF THEY CANNOT PROVIDE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED CONFLICTING MESSAGES FROM NHTSA AND HONDA. ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA, THERE IS A SERIOUS RECALL FOR MY CIVIC, PART IS AVAILABLE FOR FIXING AND VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL FIXED. I CALLED HONDA, AND THEY SAY OKAY TO DRIVE EXCEPT NO PASSENGER IN FRONT SEAT AND PART WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE SUMMER/EARLY FALL. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. FINALLY, HONDA HAS NEVER EVEN CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE RECALL. I CALLED THEM WHEN I READ YOUR ARTICLE. PLEASE ADVISE ABOUT THIS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR JUST BROKE FOR NO GOOD REASON
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN SURFACE STREETS, I HIT A BUMP AND MY ALREADY SAGGING FLIP VISOR DROPPED DOWN AND ALMOST COMPLETELY OBSTRUCTED MY VIEW OF THE ROAD. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO GRAB AND FLIP IT BACK UP, THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME HAD SLOWED SIGNIFICANTLY. I REALIZE THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE, HOWEVER MY VIN IS ~800 ABOVE THE HIGHEST VIN INCLUDED. HONDA IS REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THIS BECAUSE THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS VIN-SPECIFIC. I WOULDN'T ORDINARILY BOTHER WITH THIS BUT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE

TAKATA RECALL. RECALLED IN MAY AND IT IS 6 MONTHS LATER AND NO ACTION FOR A REPAIR. WAS TOLD I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN LATE SUMMER OR FALL. GRANTED IT'S STILL FALL BUT WE ARE TWO THIRDS THROUGH FALL AND I'VE HEARD NOTHING.

TAKATA RECALL - I WAS INFORMED IN MAY THAT MY CAR WAS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL. THE LETTER STATED THERE SHOULD BE REPLACEMENT PARTS IN BY THE END OF THE SUMMER. I LIVE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS, A VERY HOT AND HUMID CITY. I WAS INFORMED THAT CARS IN HOT HUMID CITIES ARE MOST AT RISK OF THE BAGS GOING OFF WHEN THEY SHOULD NOT. CONSIDERING I LIVE IN SUCH A HOT, HUMID CITY IS IS VERY CONCERNING THAT IT IS NOVEMBER AND HONDA HAS STILL NOT INFORMED ME THAT A REPLACEMENT PART IS IN SO I CAN GET MY CAR FIXED. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE THIS LONG TO REMEDY A DANGEROUS AIR BAG DEFECT. IF I'M AT A DANGER DRIVING MY CAR AT ALL I WANT TO KNOW AND I WANT THIS FIXED.
THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM SNAPPED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT, AND UPON INVESTIGATION I REALIZE THAT THIS IS WHAT HAS BEEN CAUSING SIGNIFICANT TIRE WEAR ON MY CAR OVER THE YEARS AS WELL AS SHAKING AND LOUD BUZZING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DIFFICULTY LOADING AND UNLOADING THE CAR DUE TO THE REAR BUMPER COMING WITHIN INCHES OF HITTING THE GROUND BECAUSE IT WAS NO LONGER BEING SUPPORTED BY THE CONTROL ARM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.
MY HONDA CIVIC WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR BY A FORD RANGER PICKUP TRUCK. I WAS DRIVING NORTHBOUND ON A CITY STREET IN SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA AND THE TRUCK WAS HEADING SOUTHBOUND AND ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS THE LANE THAT I WAS OCCUPYING WHEN I WAS HIT. THE DRIVER AIRBAG IN THE TRUCK DEPLOYED, BUT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG IN MY CIVIC DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS INJURED BY BROKEN GLASS AND IMPACT OF MY LEFT ARM & SHOULDER AGAINST THE DRIVER DOOR. THE IMPACT FOR WAS SUFFICIENT TO BEND BOTH THE A-PILLAR AND B-PILLAR INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I BELIEVE THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG IN MY CIVIC WAS DEFECTIVE. NOTE THAT A LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP OFFERED TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVABLE, AND WAS TOWED TO A CAR STORAGE YARD AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE.
THE CLEAR COAT HAS WORN AWAY ON THE ROOF AND WILL NEED TO BE REPAINTED.
BOUGHT THE 2009 HONDA CIVIC JANUARY 2016. WITHIN WEEKS I DEVELOPED A SORE HIP AND THEN PAIN DOWN MY LEG TO MY KNEE. MOST UNCOMFORTABLE SEAT I EVER SAT IN. I TRIED USING A CUSHION. IT DIDN'T HELP MUCH. ITS ESPECIALLY PAINFUL ON ANY OUTING LASTING MORE THAN AN HOUR. WILL NOT TAKE IT ON LONG TRIPS. I VISITED CAR COMPLAINTS.COM AND REALIZED THAT OTHERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. ITS DEFIANTLY A DESIGN FLAW. IM SERIOUSLY THINKING OF SELLING THE CAR.
DEFECTIVE SUN VISOR RECALL THIS COMPLAINT INVOLVES THE RECALL OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IN 2009 AND GOOD FOR 7 YEARS FROM THAT DATE. I HAD ONE VISOR, SPLIT APART AT THE TOP SEAM, REPLACED. THE SECOND VISOR NOT ONLY SPLIT AT THE SEAM BUT CAME LOOSE AT THE HINGE AND FLEW PAST MY FACE WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN APRIL 2016. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN THE 7-YEAR PERIOD BUT BECAUSE I MISREAD THE WARRANTY I KEPT PUTTING OFF THE REPLACEMENT UNTIL AFTER IT EXPIRED. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO CULVER CITY HONDA, SERVICE MANAGER RUE AYALA TOLD ME HONDA SELECTED A 7-YEAR WINDOW IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE VISORS WITH DEFECTIVE VISORS TO GET RID OF THEM. CLEAR COAT ON PAINT FAILED AFTER 3 YEARS. SUN VISORS FAILED AFTER 4 YEARS AND 35K MILES. MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED AT 5 YEARS AND 42K MILES.
SPLASH GUARD IS DISINTERGRATING. ALSO PAINT (TOP COAT) ON ROOF AND TOP OF TRUNK IS BADLY DETERIORATED. THESE DEFECTS NOTED OVER TIME.
WIPER BLADES DON'T PARK THEMSELVES AND SOMETIMES STOP IN MIDDLE OF WIND SHIELD AND INHIBIT VISIBILITY. SOMETIMES WIPERS WILL TURN OFF ONCE TURNED ON. HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SPLIT AND NOW HANGS DOWN OBSTRUCTING MY VIEW. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH 2009 AND EARLIER CIVICS; HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AS A RESULT OF THE CLASS ACTION SUIT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

HONDA VEHICLES ARE WELL KNOWN FOR PROBLEMS REGARDING PAINT, AND HONDA AND SEVERAL HONDA OWNERS ARE FULLY AWARE OF SUCH PROBLEMS. I AM LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE TO ADDRESS AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I PARKED SAFELY ON THE SIDE THANKS GOD THERE WERE NO MUCH OF A TRAFFIC ON THE HIGH WAY OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. I CHECKED MY BATTERY AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT, SO I CHECKED MY OIL WHICH I JUST CHANGED 10 DAYS AGO, I FOUND OUT THAT MY OIL CHECKING STICK IS COMPLETELY BURNT AND THE REMAINS WAS BLACK. AT THIS TIME I WAS SURE THAT IT SOMETHING BAD. I TOWED THE CAR TO THE MECHANIC AND ARRIVED SAFELY TO MY HOME. I CHECKED ONLINE ON MY WARRANTY AND RECALLS OR BULLETINS, I FOUND OUT THAT HONDA HAS THIS PROBLEM AND I CALLED THE HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME SORRY YOUR CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS BULLETIN, AN UNRESPONSIBLE CAR MANUFACTURER WHO PRODUCED AN ENGINE THAT FAILS IN 5 YEARS AFTER 55K AND DOESN'T CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY, NO COMMENT!!!!!. AS IF SAFETY IS THE LAST THING THAT MATTERS FOR THOSE COMPANIES, PUTTING ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK AND CLAIMING NO RESPONSIBLY FOR THEIR PRODUCT.
