MY DRIVER'S SIDE SUNVISOR NO LONGER COMPLETELY RETRACTS. IT HAS SPLIT OPEN AT THE JOINT AND IS CONSTANTLY FALLING IN THE WAY OF MY VISION. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN ANNOYANCE. I KNOW THAT PREVIOUS MODELS OF THE CIVIC HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND I DON'T THINK HONDA DID ANYTHING TO FIX THE (WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY) A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
THE STANDARD SUN VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS DEFECTIVE. IT DIDN'T STAY UP PROPERLY STARTING RELATIVELY SOON AFTER PURCHASE, THEN SPLIT AND HAD TO BE REMOVED. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME DEFECT AS OTHER OWNER'S HAVE DESCRIBED IN THEIR CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR 2006-2009 MODEL YEARS. *TR
THE BRAKES HAVE COMPLETELY WORN OUT AT LESS THAN 40,000 MILES. I NOTICED A PROBLEM, AND BROUGHT IT IN TO BE CHECKED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT NOT ONLY THAT I NEED NEW PADS BUT I NEED NEW ROTORS AS WELL. THERE IS NO REASON THAT THESE COMPONENTS WORE OUT THIS FAST, ESPECIALLY THE ROTORS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FAILED TO STAY IN THE UPWARDS POSITION AND BLOCKED THE VIEW OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE VISOR WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
CAR BRAKES MAKES SQUEALING NOISE WHEN BRAKES APPLIED.CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO I REMOVED BOTH FRONT WHEELS AND DISCOVER BOTH FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE WORN TO THE METAL NOW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REQUIRE REPLACEMENT,I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND OWNED NUMEROUS DIFFERENT CARS OVER THE YEARS,THIS IS THE FIRST CAR THAT I HAVE SEEN THAT WEAR OUT BRAKES THIS FAST,MOST OF THE CARS I HAVE OWNED LASTED A MINIMUM OF 45,000 MILES SOME LASTED TO ABOUT 90,000 MILES,BY THE WAY I AM A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC AND I DO NOT ABUSE MY VEHICLES IN FACT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I DRIVE LIKE A OLD LADY. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE A FACTORY SAFETY RECALL,SOME PEOPLE WITH NO MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE MIGHT CONTINUE TO OPERATE THIS CAR AND GET THEMSELVES INTO A HORRIBLE SITUATION SOONER OR LATER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, SHE HEARD THE BRAKES SQUEAL AS SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
THE VISOR SPLIT/CRACKED OPEN, AND NOW IT WILL NOT STAY IN POSITION. SO, THE VISOR IS PERMANENTLY DOWN, AND THEREFORE, DECREASING VISIBILITY. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 HONDA HYBRID, I HAVE HAD 3 IMA BATTERIES REPLACED. THE LAST ONE THEY REPLACED CAME WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT HAS REDUCED MY MPG FROM OVER 40MPG TO 30MPG AND LESS POWER. I BELIEVE THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF STATED WINDOW STICKER MILEAGE CLAIMS, LEMON LAWS AND POSSIBLY AIR QUALITY LAWS, NOT TO MENTION THE LOSS OF POWER DANGERS. *TR
EXPERIENCED LOUD, GRINDING, NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHILE DRIVING- (NOISE-NOT CONSISTENT). TOOK CIVIC TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DIAGNOSTIC CAME OUT TO BE: BAD BRAKES!! THIS WAS A HUGE SHOCK AND PRICEY SURPRISE!! NOT ONLY DID THE BRAKES WEAR OUT PREMATURELY (IN MINE AND OTHERS OPINIONS) BUT THE DEALER HAD THE AUDACITY TO OVERCHARGE ME. EMBARRASSED TO SAY I PAID: THERE SPECIAL $210. AS AN NAVE 1ST TIME BUYER, I OVERPAID. THE DEALERSHIP TECH WOMAN RIPPED ME OFF. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED, AS I THOUGHT HONDAS ARE RELIABLE AND ECONOMICALLY INEXPENSIVE TO REPAIR VEHICLES. *TR
SECOND TIME SEEING THIS ON A HONDA CIVIC. THE MOTOR MOUNTS GO BAD FAIRLY QUICKLY AND THIS TIME WENT BAD ON ME UNDER 36000 MILES. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA CIVIC OWNERS. THE CAR STARTS RELENTLESSLY VIBRATING. *TR
THERE HAS BEEN A CLICKING NOISE ON OCCASIONS WHEN I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AT SLOW SPEEDS. THE DEALER SLOANE HONDA ASSESSED THE PROBLEM BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I NOTICED THE SOUND IN 2013 +/- AND I REQUESTED IT TO BE CHECKED OUT DURING UPCOMING SERVICE APPOINTMENTS. *TR
I NOTICED WHEN PARALLEL PARKING THAT WHEN I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL IT WOULD MAKE A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVERS FRONT. I DROVE AGAIN THE NEXT DAY AND THE NOISE GOT WORSE AND STARTED HAPPENING WHEN I WAS TURNING MY WHEEL WHILE DRIVING, AND IF I WENT OVER ANY BUMPS. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICING AND THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED MY STRUT TOP REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR (I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 2 WEEKS PRIOR)... WELL, THEY FIXED THE PART AND I TOOK MY CAR HOME AND LESS THAN A MONTH LATER THE PIECE WENT BAD AGAIN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHILE COMING AROUND A CURVE ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH THE CAR STARTING TO DRIFT AND WHEN I TRIED TO TURN BACK THERE WAS A TON OF STEERING RESISTANCE AND IT SORT OF LOCKED UP. AFTER BRUSHING THE WALL I FINALLY YANKED THE WHEEL ENOUGH FOR IT TO TURN AND CRASHED AGAINST THE OPPOSITE SIDE WALL HEAD ON. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND ALL OF THIS WAS AFTER LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AFTER MY PURCHASE OF THE CERTIFIED PREOWNED HONDA. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AT SPEED OF ~72, WENT TO APPLY BRAKES AND BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND DID NOT MOVE. CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT DISENGAGE. HAD TO HIT BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THEY WORKED. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN 2 DAYS LATER. SAME EXACT ISSUE. *TR
FRONT BRAKES AT 3MM AFTER 17,000 MILES. STRONGLY RECOMMEND AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE, A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND CONSUMERS PAYING OUT OF POCKET. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS A RESULT THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,365.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE, FALLING INTO THE FIELD OF VIEW FOR THE DRIVER. THE VISOR FAILED TO REMAIN IN THE RETRACTED (UP) POSITION, AND WOULD FALL BACK INTO THE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VIEW, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION BY RESTRICTING THE DRIVERS VISION. *TR

THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE AT THE HINGE, THIS BLOCKS THE VIEW. HAVE TO HOLD IT UP IN ORDER TO SEE THE LIGHTS. *TR
WHEN RAINS, WATER LEAKS INTO INTERIOR. BOTH BACK SEATS GET WET & IN A TRUCK GETS PUDDLES OF WATER. THE WIRING GETS WET, WHICH IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF SAFETY ISSUES. PLEASE, LET ME KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. WE HAVE THIS ISSUE SINCE 2013, THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THE CAR WAS CERTIFIED BUT DEALERSHIPS REJECTED TO FIX IT.
I WENT FOR MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY BRAKES NEED REPLACEMENTS. BRAKES WORN OUT AT VERY LOW MILEAGE AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
TAKATA RECALL MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC HAS STARTED PEELING CHIPPING WHICH EVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT. BOY DOES IT LOOK BAD I JUST WANT TO GET IT FIXED. ITS MY ROOF AND MY TRUNK.PLEASE HELP ME.
AS MENTIONED BY OTHER OWNERS, I HAD TO REPLACE MY BRAKES IN -25000 MILES WHERE AS A FORMER HONDA ACCORD OWNER, I REPLACED THE BRAKES EVERY -55-60K. THE QUALITY AND SAFETY OF THE 2010 BRAKE SYSTEM IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY SINCE I TOOK THE CAR -25000 MILES TO THE WESTMINSTER HONDA WORLD AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN CATCH IT! MOREOVER NOT EVEN WITHIN WARRANTY PERIOD!
THE FIRST SUNVISOR BROKE JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. IT WASN'T MUCH OF PROBLEM TO GET IT REPLACED. ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE SECOND SUNVISOR BROKE AND CAME OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. AFTER CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA THE SUNVISOR WAS REPLACED FOR 17.00. HOWEVER, I REFRAIN FROM USING IT BECAUSE I WORRY THAT IT WILL FALL APART AGAIN. BOTH TIMES IT WAS THE SUNVISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. LAST WEEK THE SUNVISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BROKE. ALTHOUGH THESE ARE SMALL PARTS, THEY ARE INTEGRAL TO SAFETY AS THEY SHIELD THE DRIVER' EYES FROM THE SUN. EVEN IF HONDA KEEPS REPLACING THIS PARTS AT NO CHARGE, THEY ARE AT BEAT ORNAMENTAL. THE SUNVISORS SHOULD BE REPAIRED WITH GOOD QUALITY SUNVISORS THAT LAST THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR. MY 1997 ACCORD STILL HAS FUNCTIONING SUNVISORS AFTER MORE THAN 200K MILES. *TR
TMPS LIGHT ON FOR 30,000 MILES (3 YEARS), WILL NOT TURN OFF EVEN IF TIRES ARE FILLED PROPERLY.

I'VE BEEN A HONDA OWNER ALL MY LIFE AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. DONT EXPECT ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE HELP FROM CORPORATE I WAS BRUSHED OFF. *TR
HAD REPAIRS TO BRAKES AND ROTORS RESURFACED AFTER BEING TOLD TWO DAYS PRIOR BRAKES WERE FINE. SINCE THEN PARKING BRAKE LOCKS UP DURING COLD WEATHER UNABLE TO USE. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED FROM A DEALERSHIP. ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER, I NOTICED WHAT SOUNDED LIKE TWO METAL DISCS RUBBING AGAINST EACH OTHER. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS HEARING. THEY LOOKED INTO IT AND FOUND OUT THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE MACHINED AND THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED. I WAS PRETTY SHOCKED THAT AT 22,000 MILES, THIS WOULD NEED TO BE DONE. LUCKILY SINCE I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR LESS THAN A MONTH AGO, THE DEALERSHIP PAID THE COST OF THE JOB WHICH WAS AROUND $200. THIS HAS ME CONCERNED FOR FUTURE USE OF MY CAR, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO HIGHWAY DRIVING. *TR
AT 15000 MILES MY CARS FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTARS ARE WORN OUT, I HAD BROUGHT MY CAR TO HONDA FOR MY 15000 MILE SERVICE, WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO INSPECT BRAKES, YET NO MENTION OF BRAKE ISSUES WERE BROUGHT UP. TWO WEEKS LATER MY BRAKES WERE BAD. I HAVE BEEN READING THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME DEFECT IN THERE HONDA CIVICS. I AM HOPEFUL THAT HONDA DOES A RECALL, TO PROTECT THERE NAME, BECAUSE I WAS ORIGINALLY VERY HAPPY TO HAVE A HONDA, NOW I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED. *TR
FRONT END COLLISION BETWEEN 35 AND 50 MPH. HEAVY FRONT END DAMAGE. AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, THE RIGHT REAR SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN THE PASSENGER PROPERLY. PASSENGER WAS FOUND IN THE FLOOR BOARD WITH THE SEATBELT AROUND HER. EXPERT INVESTIGATING THE ACCIDENT NOTICED A DEFECT WITH THE SEAT BELT NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY 3,300 MILES. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,435.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO - THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF ENGINE WHILE DRIVING. WE STOPPED AND HONDA SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE AND CHANGED THE ENGINE (UNDER WARRANTY STILL). SINCE THEN, WE HAVE MULTIPLE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT SIGNS WHILE DRIVING IN HIGHWAY OR MIDDLE OF CROWDED CITY, AS WELL AS THE DRIVE LIGHT JUST STARTS RANDOMLY BLINKING FORCING US TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND RE-START THE CAR. THROUGHOUT THIS TIME, THEY ARE NOW CHANGING THE ENGINE FOR THE 3RD TIME AND THERE IS CONSTANT LEAK AND WARNING SIGNS STILL. THEY HAVE OBVIOUSLY NOT FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY KNOW OUR WARRANTY IS RUNNING OUT IN OCTOBER - SO THEY JUST CHANGE ENGINE OR REPAIR A LEAK (WITHOUT ACTUALLY FIGURING OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS) AND THEY ARE WAITING FOR WARRANTY TO RUN OUT. IT IS ALL BEEN AN ENGINE PROBLEM AND THE DEALER AND NOW HONDA JUST DO NOT SEEM TO CARE - WE ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WE THINK THIS IS A VIOLATION OF THE MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT AS THEY HAVE OBVIOUSLY NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM (IE ENGINE) THAT IS UNDER WARRANTY AND JUST REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR US TO BE DRIVING THIS CAR AS HONDA AND US BOTH KNOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED AND DRIVING IN HIGHWAY OR A ROAD COULD MEAN AN ACCIDENT ANYTIME. HOWEVER, HONDA DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE - THEY SAY WELL WE WILL KEEP ON REPLACING ENGINE UNTIL WARRANTY RUNS OUT. WE WOULD LIKE TO GET A NEW CAR OR A CAR WITH EQUAL MILEAGE (AS OF FEBRUARY 2013), AS WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROPERLY USE THE CAR AND FEEL IN DANGER EVERY TIME WE DRIVE THE CAR GIVEN ALL THE WARNINGS. *TR
TOOK 2010 HONDA CIVIC TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WITH COMPLAINTS OF CLICKING IN FRONT END. WAS ADVISED THAT VEHICLE CV JOINT HAD FAILED. VEHICLE HAD APPROX 19,000 MILES AT REPLACEMENT. CV JOINT FAILURE AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED COULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS. *TR
BOUGHT CAR WITH 63835 MILES AND AT 65000 MILES CAR NEEDED BRAKE PADS AND THE ROTOR REPLACE CAUSE OF BAD WEAR , THEY WERE REPLACE AND NOW AT 73000 MILES I NEED BRAKE PADS AGAIN , BRAKES ON THESE CAR IS THE WORST EVER. *TR
NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS AT 18,645 MILES DURING THREE YEAR LEASE. WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER BRAKE PADS LIKE OTHER CAR MAKERS. BRAKE PADS SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT SO QUICK. I DO NOT HAVE 245 DOLLARS FOR EVERY 18 THOUSAND MILES OR LESS TO CHANGE THE BRAKES EVERY 2 YEARS. I HAVE OWNED A CHEVY AND FORD,BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS AT 40K MILES PLUS. *TR
I WAS PARKED IN SHOPPING CENTER. I CAME OUT OF CVS PHARMACY AND CAREFULLY BACKED MY CAR OUT. I BEGAN A LEFT TURN LANE (STILL IN SHOPPING CENTER) NOT INTO MAIN ROAD AND SUDDENLY THE CAR'S SPEED ESCALATED RAPIDLY AND I COULD NOT STOP IT - IT JUMPED THE CURB AND IN TRYING TO AVOID HITTING SHOPS CAR CRASHED HEADLONG INTO LIGHT POLE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE GAS ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK. THE AIRBAG CAME ON AND I WAS INJURED BY THAT. THE FRONT END OF AUTO WAS BADLY DAMAGED. THIS IS A HONDA CIVIC 2010 AND THERE WAS A CRASH AND ONE PERSON INJURED (ME) WHICH WHEN I PRINT THIS YOUR FORM REVERTS TO ORIGINAL FORM. *TR

WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT HAD 8000 MI ON IT AT AROUND 18000 IS WHEN I KEPT HEARING NOISES THEN WENT AWAY. NOW AT 22000 MI I BROUGHT IT INTO HONDA TO CHECK IT OUT AS OTHER PLACES SAID BRAKES WERE FINE. (MAYBE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE RESPONSIBLE AS THEY KNEW IT WAS A HONDA ISSUE?) I THINK THIS IS PREMATURE WEARING OUT OF MY BRAKES AS BRAKES SHOULD LAST APPROX. 30000 MI NOT ONLY 10000-11000 MILES. I WAS TOLD IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY SO I PAID FOR NEW BRAKES AND KEPT THE OLD PARTS. I'VE READ HONDA HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON EARLIER MODELS AND I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE EXTENDED TO MY YEAR HONDA CIVIC 2010. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD FELT STEERING TIGHTEN UP WENT TO TURN AROUND CORNER AND COULD NOT STEER CAR THE STEERING WAS LOCKED UP STOPPED IMMEDIATELY LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME.TURNED STEERING WHEEL FORCEFULLY TO RIGHT AND LEFT AND IT SEEMED FINE STARTED OUT STEERING TIGHTENED AGAIN. STOPPED DRIVING CAR FOR COUPLE MONTHS CALLED PAYAS AUTO WERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THEY CAME AND GOT IT THEY INDICATED IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE CAR WORKED STEERING WAS FINE. THEN WINTER IN VERMONT HIT AGAIN ONE COLD MORNING I WENT OUT STARTED THE CAR LET IT RUN FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES WENT TO LEAVE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED UP LEFT CAR RUNNING FOR AN HOUR AND STEERING WAS WORKING GOT ON THE INTERSTATE IT WAS 17 DEGREES GOING 70 MPH STEERING LOCKED UP GOT OFF INTERSTATE SLOWED DOWN TO 45 MPH STEERING WAS STIFF YET NOT LOCKED AS IT WAS WHEN I WAS GOING 70. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE TRUE PROBLEM IS WITH THE STEERING HOWEVER IT IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE THE COLD IS FREEZING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SINCE THE GOOD OLD FASHIONED POWER STEERING DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS CAR IT CAN NOT BE POWER STEERING FLUID PROBLEM. I AM TODAY, TAKING CAR TO AUTOMASTER MY HOPE IS THEY WILL GET TO THE TRUE PROBLEM IT IS NOT A FUSE AND IT IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS(AFTER EXPERIENCING THIS STEERING PROBLEM EVERY TIME THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 30 DEGREES). *TR
THERE,S A DEFECT IN THE-PAINT THAT WAS USED ON THE CAR BY THE MANUFACTER. THE PAINT IS COMING OFF THE ROOF OF THE CAR AND AROUND THE BACK WINDSHIELD. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE PAINT HAS FADED IN THOSE PLACES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE BODY SHOP AND THEY HAVE ME ADVISED ME THAT THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE PAINT THAT THE MANUFACTER USED ON THE HONDA CIVIC 2010 MODELS.. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE MANUFACTER TO RE-PAINT MY CAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
LET ME MAKE SOMETHING CLEAR... THIS IS NOT THE INDICATOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DASH BOARD THAT LIGHTS WHEN WEIGHT IS DETECTED UNDER 65 LBS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH APPROPRIATELY DEACTIVATES THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS IS AN INDICATOR LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHOWING 'SIDE AIRBAG OFF', THAT HAS TURNED ON 3 TIMES IN THE PAST THREE MONTHS, ONLY FOR MAYBE 5-10 SECONDS EACH TIME. FIRST NOTICED ON CHRISTMAS DAY GOING AROUND 20MPH, THE LIGHT TURNED ON FOR MAYBE 5 SECONDS, THEN TURNED OFF. LATEST OCCURRENCE WAS LAST WEEKEND, WHILE SITTING AT THE ATM MACHINE. BOTH TIMES I HAD IT IN FOR SERVICE, THEY RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT, AND THERE ARE NO CODES LOGGED TO INDICATE AN ERROR CONDITION, AND OF COURSE, BEING THAT IT IS SO SPORADIC, THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE CONDITION. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING TO ME BECAUSE I HAVE A CHILD THAT I WANT TO BE PROTECTED BY ANY AND ALL NECESSARY AIRBAGS IF IN THE UNFORTUNATE EVENT THAT I/WE ARE IN AN ACCIDENT. SO WHICH ONE OF THE 'SIDE' AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING WHEN THAT INDICATOR LIGHTS? ONE? ALL? THE NUMBER OF AIRBAGS THIS CAR HAS, WAS A DEAL-MAKING SELLING POINT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. I HAVE REALLY LOST FAITH IN HONDA WITH THIS AND A LOT OF OTHER SERVICE ISSUES. *TR
OTHER DRIVER SLAMMED INTO REAR OF MY CAR AT ABOUT 30 MPH. I RECALL GOING FORWARD INSIDE MY CAR BUT IT SEEMS SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. TURNS OUT MY DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME WAS BROKEN IN THE ACCIDENT AND MY BEST GUESS IS ENTIRE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS GOING FORWARD. DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS USUAL OR NOT. I'VE NOT HEARD OF IT. ALSO, WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS MOVING FORWARD IS REASON SEAT BELT DID NOT TIGHTEN. *TR
PREMATURE BRAKE PAD WORN OUT 17000 MILES ON FRONT BRAKES LESS THAN TWO YEARS SINCE THE CIVIC WAS BOUGHT. PAID $287.00 AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO REIMBURSE FEES. *TR
WITH ONLY 25,000 MILES MY BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE REPLACED. DIAGNOSIS CAME FROM LOUD SCREECHING AND WHISTLING NOISE FROM FRONT DRIVERS-SIDE TIRES. HAD NO CONSISTENCY WITH SPEED OR BRAKING - SOMETIMES IT WHISTLED WHILE GOING FAST, SOMETIMES WHILE SLOW, SOMETIMES WHILE TURNING, SOMETIMES WHILE BRAKING. I TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO WORK AND USE THIS CAR VERY INFREQUENTLY. I AM DISGUSTED BY HAVING TO CHANGE BRAKE PADS AT 25,000 MILES - THE MAJORITY OF WHICH IS DISTANCE DRIVING TO FAMILY OUT OF TOWN. *TR
I WAS TOLD THAT MY BRAKES WERE GONE AT APPROXIMATELY 30K MILES. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM OR AN ISSUE. NEW FRONT BRAKES WERE INSTALLED. THEN AS OF JUNE 2014, WITH ONLY 23K MILES ON THIS SET I AGAIN HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS. NO SQUEALING TO INDICATE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. I'M VERY NERVOUS NOW BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL IF THE BRAKES ARE GOING. I DEEM THIS TO BE AN EXTREME HAZARD AND NO LONGER FEEL SAFE. *TR
RIDES ROUGH SHAKES FEELS THAT IT'S GOING TO STALL. VERY OBVIOUS WHEN STOPPING FOR RED LIGHTS. VIBRATION OCCURS IF I PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. SOMETIMES IT STOPS IT BUT IT DOES REOCCUR. ALSO THE A/C MAKES THE CAR VIBRATE EVEN MORE. WAS SERVICED HOWEVER HAD TO BRING IT BACK, PAYING $160. , IN AUGUST 2012 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY TOOK IT FOR A RIDE FELT SOMETHING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND PROCEEDED TO REALIGN FRONT WHEELS. RODE WITH A MEMBER OF THE SERVICE DEPT FOR A GOOD 20 MINUTES AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE CAR. WHEN I DROVE THE CAR HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND, TO DATE, IT IS STILL HAPPENING. A MEMBER OF THE SERVICE DEPT TOLD ME IN CONFIDENCE THERE IS A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE A/C BUT THEY HAVEN'T FOUND HOW TO FIX IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF OTHER CIVICS COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. *JS
ON OUR NEW HONDA CIVIC, OUR FRONT BRAKES WENT OUT AT 15,900 MILES. OF COURSE, THE SERVICE REPS TRIED TO BLAME THE "HARD DRIVING" WHICH WAS THEIR ASSUMPTION. THEY DID REPLACE THEM, BUT NOW AT 29,000 MILES, THE FRONT BRAKES ARE OUT AGAIN. CLEARLY, HONDA IS USING EITHER POOR QUALITY PADS OR THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE. WE ARE TAKING IT IN AGAIN, BUT DON'T HAVE A LOT OF CONFIDENCE THAT THEY'LL DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THIS. *TR
I OWN A 2010 HONDA CIVIC LX MODEL. MY CAR WAS SERVICED AT 18,800 MILES. I WAS TOLD BY THE HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT MY BRAKES HAD TO BE CHANGED. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 6,400 MILES ON IT. I WAS SHOCKED AT THE FACT THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AT ABOUT 12,000 MILES INTO DRIVING THE CAR. BRAKES ARE MEANT TO LAST ABOUT 30,000 MILES BEFORE BEING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HONDA DOES NOT LET THE OWNERS OF THESE CARS KNOW THAT THEY HAVE FAULTY BRAKES THAT THEY WEAR OUT QUICKER. NOR ARE THEY WILLING TO COVER THE COSTS OF EARLY BRAKE CHANGES. *TR
BOUGHT DEMO 2010 HONDA CIVIC EX IN DECEMBER 2010, SO IT WAS VIRTUALLY NEW. PROBLEM BEGAN OCCURRING AROUND THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER 2012, WHEN THE MILEAGE OF CAR WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000. UPON IGNITION, THE NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WAS A HIGHER-PITCHED WHIR THAN I WAS ACCUSTOMED TO. THIS HIGHER-PITCHED WHIR WOULD WORSEN AS I ACCELERATED AND AS I TURNED CORNERS. THOUGHT I JUST NEEDED TO ALLOW THE CAR TO WARM UP. THAT SOLUTION DID NOT WORK. TOOK THE CAR INTO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE POWER STEERING RACK, AND THAT THIS LEAK WAS DRAINING INTO MY WHEEL BOOTS, BY WHICH I'M GUESSING HE MEANT STEERING RACK BOOTS. I DO NOT HAVE GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF CARS. WAS TOLD THAT SOMEHOW THE DRAINAGE OF POWER STEERING FLUID INTO MY STEERING BOOTS WAS CREATING THIS HIGH-PITCHED WHIR. FOR THE FEW WEEKS THIS NOISE WAS OCCURRING BEFORE I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF LEAKS UNDER MY CAR. WAS TOLD THAT UNTIL THE STEERING BOOT WAS COMPLETELY SATURATED WITH POWER STEERING FLUID THAT THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY SIGNS OF LEAKAGE UNDER THE CAR. FORTUNATELY THE HONDA CARE WARRANTY COVERS THIS REPAIR. THOUGH I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I BOUGHT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. CAR IS BEING REPAIRED AS I TYPE THIS. WILL POST AGAIN IF I LEARN OF ANY ADDITIONS. *TR
MY 2010 HONDA CIVIC DX WITH JUST OVER 36,000 MILES ON IT HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH BRAKE PADS EVERY 10-15,000 MILES. THIS IS ENTIRELY TOO FREQUENT, AND THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS GRINDING AND HAVING ISSUES NOW AS WELL. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A VEHICLE THAT IS THIS NEW, AND THE BRAKES SHOULD BE LASTING MUCH LONGER. EVEN A HEAVY BREAKER DOES NOT GO THROUGH BRAKE PADS THIS FREQUENTLY. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BY HONDA TO SEE THAT THE COMPONENTS THAT MAKE UP THE BRAKING SYSTEM SATISFACTORILY REFLECT THE QUALITY OF CRAFTSMANSHIP AND BUILD THAT HONDA REPRESENTS TO ITS CUSTOMERS. THE DOT SHOULD PRESSURE HONDA TO TAKE OWNERSHIP AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THESE ISSUES IN LIGHT OF THEIR PREVALENCE AND THE MANY COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN FILED BY CONSUMERS ALREADY. *TR
