TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 HONDA CIVIC 4D LXS MODEL CAR IN MARCH. WITHIN A MONTH THE CAR HEAD COMPUTER ISSUE THAT CAUSED ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY CONTROL TO BREAK, SPEEDOMETER, ENGINE TEMPERATURE, GAS INDICATOR, ODOMETER, ETC. ALL WENT DEAD. THE CAR WAS TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE, BUT NO ROOT-CAUSES WERE FOUND FOR THE ISSUE. AFTER THE CAR HAD THE BATTERY DISCHARGED AN RECHARGED THE ISSUE SIMPLY WENT AWAY. ON 6/12/11 THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK, BRAKES WEREN'T FUNCTIONAL AND IT JUMPED A CURB A AND RAN THROUGH A FENCE BEFORE FINALLY COMING TO A STOP. THE AIRBAG ALSO DIDN'T DEPLOY, WE FEEL IT SHOULD HAVE DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE ACCIDENT. WE FEEL THESE COULD BE ALL RELATED A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT'S AN UNDERLYING ELECTRONICS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEED IN A 6 MONTH OLD VEHICLE WITH 5500 MILES, A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE CAME FROM RT FRONT WHEEL AREA. ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SLOWED DOWN TO PULL OVER AND NOISE STOPPED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. MOMENTS LATER TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR LIT UP. PULLED OVER AND SAW TIRE DEFLATED. CHANGED TIRE. DAMAGED TIRE DID NOT HAVE ANY VISIBLE DAMAGE OR PUNCTURES. AIR REMAINED IN TIRE BUT WAS REDUCED. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR INSPECTIONS AND THEY STATED THAT THE CORDS INSIDE THE TIRE WERE "SHREDDED/TORN". CONTACTING GOODYEAR TIRE NOW FOR INSPECTION AND RESOLUTION BUT I AM CONTENDING IT IS A DEFECT WITH THE TIRE ITSELF AND STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF IT. POSSIBLY A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. UNKNOWN IF OTHER DAMAGE TO VEHICLE UNTIL A NEW TIRE IS PUT ON TOMORROW. *TR
MY DAUGHTER DROVE ON FREEWAY 60 AND NEEDED TO CHANGE LANE TO FREEWAY 57. WHILE SHE CHANGED LANES, SHE FOUND THE TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY 57 STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. SO, SHE STARTED TO BRAKE, BUT FOR SOME ODD REASON THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN WELL ENOUGH, SO SHE STARTED TO BRAKE HARDER, AND SUDDENLY SHE HEARD A VERY LOUD BUMPING NOISE. SHE THOUGHT SOME PARTS OF CAR HIT THE GROUND. SO SHE DECIDED TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, BUT BY THE TIME I PULLED IT UP, SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE A STOP IMMEDIATELY AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER. THE HEAD REST IS TOO FAR FORWARD, AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. IT NEEDS TO BE ADJUSTABLE, NOT IN A FIXED POSITION.
MY 2011 HONDA CIVIC LX-S HAS ONLY 13,000 MILES ON IT AND MY BRAKE PADS HAVE ALREADY WORN DOWN TO NOTHING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED YESTERDAY. THE REPAIR GUY TOLD ME THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT AT SUCH LOW MILES THAT THIS SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE ORIGINAL BREAKS ON MY CAR AND $378 LATER, I ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THEM. IF EVERY 10,000 MILES THEY HAVE TO GET REPLACED THAT IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE. *TR
DRIVING THE CAR FOR ONE YEAR NOW I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES MAKE A POP NOISE AFTER GOING IN REVERSE THEN FORWARD, ALSO A FEWS TIMES THE CAR BRAKES FEEL LIKE ITS NOT REALLY SLOWING THE CAR DOWN FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS AND ALMOST CASUED A FEW ACCIDENTS BY NOT PROVIDING ENOUGH BRAKING POWER. THE SUSPENSION IS INADEQUET FOR THE CAR IT BOTTOMS THE REAR OF THE CAR WITH <100 LBS INSIDE. THE CAR TENDS TO JUMP FORWARD WHEN DECELERATING BY COASTING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES RIGHT BEFORE THE AUTO LEVEL IS REACHED HAS ALMOST CAUSED A FEW ACCIDENTS FROM THE CAR JUMPING FORWARD ABOUT 1-2 FEET ALSO FEELS LIKE A WHIPLASH EFFECT WHEN IT DOES THIS. ALSO WHEN GOING FROM 0 TO 10 AT AN INTERSECTION TO MOVE QUICKLY OUT OF THE INTERSECTION THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE POWER AND MOVES AT A SLOW PACE COMPARED TO THE RPMS. DEALER SAYS THE POP NOISE IS A GAP IN THE BRAKE PADS AND THE JUMP EFFECT IS POSSIBLY DUE TO THE AC DISENGAGING BUT THE AC WAS NOT DISENGAGING AT THE TIME. *TT
MODEST AND CAREFUL DRIVING RESULTS IN MUCH LOWER GAS MILEAGE THAN EPA ESTIMATES. MPG EQUALS THAT OF THREE PRIOR CARS WITH ENGINES OF TWICE THE SIZE AND TWICE THE HORSEPOWER. DEALER SHRUGS, IGNORES. *JS
THE NEW CAR HAS HAD THE ENTIRE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE STRUTS, BEARINGS REPLACED THREE TIMES AS WELL AS THE SUSPENSION AND WILL NOW NEED IT DONE FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND THE HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEA HOW TO FIX OTHER THAN REPLACING THE WHOLE THING WHICH CONTINUES TO GET DAMAGED. HELP! *KB
I WAS TRAVELING 60MPH ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY IN THE RIGHT LANE SOUTH BOUND. A LARGE TRASH TRUCK WAS IN THE LEFT LANE DOING ABOUT 55 MPH IN THE SOUTH BOUND LANE. HE CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AND STRUCK ME IN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE CAR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK BROADSIDED MY CAR IN BOTH DOORS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE CAR SPUN AGAIN AND HIT INTO THE CENTER GUARD RAILS DIVIDING THE FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WITH THE RIGHT REAR CORNER OF THE BUMPER AND CAME TO A STOP. THE TRASH TRUCK THEN RAN OVER THE LEFT FRONT CORNER OF THE CAR WITH HIS REAR SET OF AXLES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. NO FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE SIDE AIR BAGS MIGHT HAVE KEPT MY WIFE FROM BEING INJURED. I WAS NOT INJURED. $15,000 DAMAGE TO THE CAR. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A TURN WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR ENGAGED BACK INTO THE CORRECT POSITION INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING WAS A COMMON FAILURE, BUT ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SLIPPING WOULD OCCUR BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION ASSUMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,500.
I PURCHASED NEW 2011 HONDA CIVIC LX SEDAN VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT. IT WAS ALLEGEDLY REPAIRED BY DEALER. HOWEVER, WITHIN 24 HOURS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT GREENWICH HONDA, MASON STREET, GREENWICH CT THREE TIMES ALREADY AND IT IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. IT APPEARS THAT VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANT. THE ENGINE APPEARS TO RUN IRREGULARLY AT TIMES AND I AM AFRAID THAT IT MAY ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER THE WINDSHIELD PREVENTED THE SNOW TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SIDE OF THE WINDOW WITH EASE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE WINDSHIELD AND THEY SUGGESTED ADDING A TRIM TO THE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. SNOW ACCUMULATION EFFECTED THE CONTACTS VISION WHILE DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 420.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC DX VP (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STANDSTILL, THE DRIVER WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR. UPON IMPACT, THE REAR DOOR SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED AS WELL AS THE DRIVER FRONT AND DOOR AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FRACTURING HER RIBS. HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED SO THAT THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS SHOULD ONLY DEPLOY WHEN THERE WAS IMPACT TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ONLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO BE INVESTIGATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO USE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, HE DISCOVERED A BLIND SPOT IMPAIRING HIS VIEW OF UP TO TWENTY FIVE FEET. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING AND GRINDING. THE BRAKES WERE RECENTLY REPLACED PRIOR TO THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,826 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 50 TO 60 MPH DURING RAINY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY, REDUCING VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT THE FUSE FOR THE WIPERS WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,350 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,377.
