FOLLOWING MY WIFE AFTER A RECALL ON HER CAR, IT BEGAN TO RAIN LIGHTLY. KNOWING WE WERE ENTERING A 75MPH TURNPIKE, I PHONED HER TO ADVISE HER TO TURN ON HER LIGHTS. SHE DID. AT THE STOP LIGHT BEFORE GETTING ON THE TURNPIKE, ALL I COULD SEE WERE 2 TINY LED BULB TYPES ON BOTH SIDES. AS SHE BEGAN TO REACH SPEED, SHE GOT 10-15 CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME. WE KNEW THE FACTORY SPOILER CAUSES A VORTEX BEHIND HER CAR AS WE WIPE OFF BLACK POWDER THAT BUILDS ON THE BACK OF HER CAR EACH DAY WHEN SHE COMES HOME FROM WORK. I'VE NEVER DRIVEN BEHIND HER LET ALONE IN THE RAIN. WITH THE VORTEX CREATING A BOILING SPRAY, AND THE TINY LED BULBS, I COULD NOT SEE HER AT ALL. JUST A SPRAY. NO LIGHTS. AT OUR EXIT CLOSE TO HOME, AS SHE TOOK OFF, I COULD NOT SEE HER TAIL LIGHTS EVEN 5 CAR LENGTHS BACK. IT WAS DAY TIME I FORGOT TO MENTION BUT CLOUDY AND AS STATED, LIGHT RAIN. I COULD SEE HER BRAKE AS THE BRAKE LIGHTS USE A COMMON BULB. AGAIN, WITH THE LIGHTS IN THE ON POSITION, THE ONLY TIME I SAW HER TAIL LIGHT WAS IN THE GARAGE. THE VEHICLE HAS TWO ISSUES. THE SPOILERS CREATE A SPRAY OF WATER REDUCING VISIBILITY OF THE BACKBOF HER CAR IN THE RAIN OR FOG TO ZERO. HONDA EVEN SHOWS PHOTOS WITH THEIR LIGHTS ON. TINY ANGLED LED'S POINTING UP AND IN. AND NOT NEARLY BRIGHT ENOUGH TO BE SEEN IN RAIN. HEAVY RAIN OR DENSE FOG, COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. MY WIFE DRIVES I-40 & I-44 TO AND FROM WORK DAILY. 13 MILES. SHE'S HAD THE CAR JUST A FEW MONTHS. I AM CONCERNED EACH MORNING. SHE CURRENTLY LEAVES WHEN IT'S DARK. I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE SPRING RAINS AND DAWNS EARLY LIGHT WHEATHER SHE WILL BE SEEN. AS STATED EARLIER, THE SPOILERS CAUSE THE TURBULENCE OR VORTEX BEHIND THE CAR. THE LIGHTS ARE TOO SMALL AND LUMENS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO BE SEEN. PHOTOS BELOW WILL SHOW ON CITY STREETS AND IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THE PHOTOS I TOOK FROM MY PHONE THE LAST FEW BLOCKS HOME AND INTO THE GARAGE. THIS IS BAD! SHE LOVES THIS CAR
AMERICAN HONDA IS THE MOST FRAUDULENT COMPANY I EVER DEALT WITH. WITHIN THE 1ST YEAR, A SERIOUS PROBLEM DEVELOPED WITH THE TRUNK, WHICH RANDOMLY OPENS FOR NO REASON, SOMETIMES OVERNIGHT, SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. WE TOOK THE CAR 2X TO THE DELRAY BEACH DEALER , & IT CLAIMED ITCOULDN'T IDENTIFY OR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, & THEN THAT THEY FIXED IT. THEY DID NOTHING & THE PROBLEM NEVER STOPPED. I WASTED 2 DAYS ON THESE VISITS, ACCOMPLISHING NOTHING. LAST MONTH, NOW IN CALIFORNIA, & STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THE TRUNK OPENED WHILE I WAS AWAY FOR A WEEK, & I HAD WATER DAMAGE TO > $200 OF ITEMS IN MY TRUNK. I SPOKE WITH LIVETTE AT HONDA, WHO TOLD ME TO GO TO THE BERKELEY DEALER TO HAVE THE CAR ASSESSED. I REVIEWED THE HISTORY OF THE MATTER, & TOLD HER I WANTED TO BE SURE THE DEALER WOULD BE AUTHORIZED TO MAKE REPAIRS. INSTEAD. I WASTED ANOTHER 4+ HOURS AT THE DEALER, WHO SAID IT COULDN'T IDENTIFY & HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE ISSUE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON LINE, & WHEN I SHOWED THEM THE COMPLAINTS & HOW DEALERS HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER SAID IT NEEDED APPROVAL FROM HONDA (HONDA SAID IT NEEDED THE DEALER TO APPROVE THE REPAIR, SO IT'S LIKE DEALING WITH THE INSANE). THE DEALER SAID IT WOULD CALL ME AFTER OBTAINING APPROVAL'THEY NEVER DID. LIVETTE WAS THE MOST OFFENSIVE PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH, LIED TO MY FACE, & REFUSED TO AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR & CLOSED THE CASE THOUGH SHE NEVER EVEN SPOKE WITH THE DEALER. THESE CARS HAVE A KNOWN DANGEROUS DEFECT & HONDA HAS DONE NOTHING'THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE NTSB SHOULD TRACK ON-LINE COMPLAINTS & OBTAIN ALL HONDA COMPLAINTS FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS TO DETERMINE ALL MODELS AFFECTED. THE CAR'S UNDERCARRIAGE IS ALSO KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE; IT IS FAR TOO LOW & SCRAPES ON SPEED BUMPS & GETS TORN OFF BY THEM, PARKING BARRIERS, & ANY ROAD INCLINE.
AIRBAG ADVISORY LIGHT IS INTERMITTENT WITH OR WITHOUT A PASSENGER SITTING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING OR WHILE THE CAR IS ON RUNNING AT IDLE. THE HAPPENS EVERYDAY.
CAR ALLOWED ITSELF TO BE TURNED OFF WHILE STILL IN DRIVE. UPON LEAVING CAR IT ROLLED DOWN INCLINE INTO ANOTHER CAR. MY HUSBANDS HONDA (2011 CRV) DOES NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO TURNED OFF IN DRIVE NOR DOES IT ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WHILE STILL IN GEAR/DRIVE. *TR
2016 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE PARKING BRAKES HAD A SOFTWARE UPDATE PERFORMED THEM TWICE AND THE COMPUTER U3000-49 WAS REPLACED. THE POWER WINDOWS ALSO FAILED. UPDATED 06/06/2017*JS
BRAND NEW 2016 HONDA CIVIC - MY FAMILY HAS PURCHASED 2 OF THESE VEHICLES SAME EXACT EX-L MODEL IN THE LAST MONTH JUST DIFFERENT COLORS. BOTH TPMS SENSOR LIGHTS HAVE COME ON WITHIN THE FIRST FEW HUNDRED MILES OF DRIVING THE CARS! *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND A SMALL ROCK HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND CRACKED IT RIGHT WHERE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS ATTACHED. THERE IS NO IMPACTED POINT IN THE GLASS JUST THE SPLINTERING OF THE GLASS. SAFELITE HAD TO MAKE A SMALL HOLE JUST TO DO THE REPAIR. IS THIS WINDSHIELD DEFECTIVE? IT HAPPEN TO MY SON'S GIRLFRIEND'S 2017 HONDA CIVIC AS WELL. WE BOTH JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLES. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE AS WELL. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE WINDSHIELD IS INFERIOR OR DEFECTIVE AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY SWITCH INTO REVERSE. ONCE IN THE REVERSE POSITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO ROLL WHILE THE SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION IF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD RANDOMLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BRANDON HONDA, 9209 E. ADAMO DR, TAMPA FL). THE DEALER UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
THE ELECTRIC EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILED. THE CAR WAS PARKED, IGNITION TURNED OFF, EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED, AND LEFT THE VEHICLE. WHEN I RETURNED, THE CAR HAD ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN A ROAD AND SLAMMED INTO ANOTHER PARKED CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. NO INJURIES RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT. POLICE REPORT IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. WE FOUND ABOUT THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED IN MID-OCTOBER BUT WE HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED/CONTACTED YET.
ME AN MY BOYFRIEND ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE ENGINE OF OUR VEHICLE STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER AT THE LAST SECOND WHEN THE ENGINE ACTUALLY STOPPED. WE WERE STILL IN A DANGEROUS AREA AND I COULDN'T EVEN DESCRIBE TO AAA WHERE WERE. FORTUNATELY A TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS PASSING BY AND SAW US ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED TO HELP US. JUST TO GIVE SOME BACK STORY MY BOYFRIEND WAS READING AN ARTICLE ABOUT A RECALL FOR THE PISTON RING/CLIP AFFECTING THE ENGINE ON THE 2016 HONDA CIVICS AND WE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO OUR DEALERSHIP AND HAD THE CAR INSPECTED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. LATER ON WARNING LIGHTS IN THE CAR STARTED TO TURN ON INCLUDED THE BRAKE AND ENGINE LIGHT. WE HAD A WORKER AT AUTOZONE CHECK THE LIGHTS WITH ONE OF THEIR TOOLS AND WERE TOLD THE LIGHTS MAY HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF IN THE INITIAL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE. WE WENT BACK TWICE SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER AND SERVICE TEAM AND WERE TURNED AWAY WITH A LIST OF ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON IN THE VEHICLE WITH NO REMEDY TO FIX ANY OF THE ISSUES. WHEN WE BROUGHT UP THE RECALL AGAIN WE WERE TOLD OUR CAR DID NOT FALL UNDER IT. BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE I AND MY BOYFRIEND COULD AVE LOST OUR LIVES IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. WE BOUGHT THE CAR MAY 2016 AND THE RECALL WAS ISSUED FEBRUARY 2016 AND WAS STILL OPEN AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE CONSIDERING THE PARTS TO FIX THE PISTON PROBLEM WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SUMMER. SO WE WERE SOLD A CAR WITH AN OPEN RECALL AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED PRIOR TO PURCHASE. NOW I AM STRANDED WITHOUT A CAR BECAUSE THE ENGINE HAS SUSTAINED DAMAGE DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I NO LONGER WANT THIS FAULTY AND UNSAFE VEHICLE, AND I DO NOT TRUST HONDA TO FIX THE ISSUE. WE NEED YOUR HELP NHTSA!
COVER FOR CENTER BRAKE LIGHT KEEPS COMING LOOSE, OBSCURING REAR WINDOW AND FLOODING INTERIOR WITH RED LIGHT WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED AT NIGHT. KNOWN ISSUE, BUT DEALERS DO NOT HAVE GUIDANCE ON HOW TO PERMANENTLY FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE, POWER STEERING, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT SOMETHING UNDER THE VEHICLE WAS CHEWING THE WIRES AND THEY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
UPON STARTUP VSA, TPMS, CMBS, BRAKE WARNING ILLUMINATED AT 4400 MILES. POWER STEERING FAILED. DELIVERED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE STATIONARY, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN THE CONTACT AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD AND RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNDERGOING PHYSICAL THERAPY. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. HONDA WOULD NOT REPLACE THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
CAR STALLS; WITH NO WARNING JUST TURNS OFF THIS HAPPENS WITH NO RHYME OR REASON AND HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES MANY OF WHICH IS NOT DOCUMENTED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT TAKEN INTO A DEALER; I COULD NOT AFFORD A TOW. I HAVE NOW SIGNED UP FOR AAA AND HAD IT TOWED INTO A DEALER THIS LAST OCCURRENCE. DOCUMENTED WITH DEALERSHIPS ON 5/12/16 CAR HAD 396 MILES ON IT; 6/3/16 CAR HAD 2722 MILES ON IT; 10/13/16 CAR HAD 10745 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE TIME THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD IT HAPPEN TO THEM NINE TIMES BEFORE IT SUDDENLY STOPPED HAPPENING. HAPPENED GOING 75 MPH GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. HAPPENS WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. HAPPENS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET. HAVE CONTACTED HONDA CORP (CASE#05150093) AND ASKED FOR HELP BUT HAVE NOT HAD A RESOLUTION. THE HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS RECREATED THE ISSUE (COPY OF SERVICE TICKET ATTACHED) THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN SO THEY TOLD MY SON TO COME GET IT AND DRIVE IT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN THEN CALL THEM TO TOW IT BACK IN. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AND HE COULD LOSE HIS LIFE AND POTENTIALLY MANY OTHERS. PLEASE HELP. I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY SON OR ANY OTHER LIFE BE TAKEN BECAUSE HONDA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. *TR
TODAY I PURCHASED A NEW (DEMO/4,900+ MILES) 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE THE SALESMAN WAS DEMONSTRATING HOW TO USE THE PHONE/CONNECTIVITY FEATURES IT WAS DISCOVERED THE PHONE SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING. I WAS ADVISED TO TRY IT AGAIN WHEN I DROVE OFF THE LOT TO TAKE MY BRAND NEW CAR HOME AND IT MAY WORK WHEN I GOT AWAY FROM THE LOT. IT DID NOT. THE PHONE IS NON WORKING AND THE VOICE RECOGNITION IS USELESS.
IF YOU HAVE TO BRAKE SUDDENLY, VEHICLE WILL NOT REACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR. YOU HAVE TO PUMP ACCELERATOR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STARTS WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN AND VEHICLE RESUMES ACCELERATION. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ALREADY. VERY DANGEROUS! ESPECIALLY FOR AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. ALSO, SEATBELT LOCKS UP TIGHTLY AND YOU CANNOT MOVE UPON SUDDEN BRAKING. YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH IT FOR A WHILE BEFORE IT LOOSENS UP. THIS IS ALSO DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT LOOK AROUND TO SEE YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
THE RADIO OR SAID INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED, NOT ALLOWING YOU TO USE YOUR GOOGLE NAVIGATION OR BLUETOOTH WHICH ARE 2 BIG SAFETY CONCERNS, THE INTERNET IS FLOODED WITH COMPLAINTS AND ALL SAY HONDA IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM AND REFUSING A FIX.
TPMS LIGHT CAME ON. ONLY 230 MILES ON VEHICLE. TIRE PRESSURE 29.5 MEASURED COLD ON CAR
DRIVING ON I-5. ALL OF THE SUDDEN, I HEARD A POP AND THE GLASS FROM MY SUNROOF WAS FALLING ON ME. I DID NOT SEE ANY ROCKS OR OBJECTS HIT MY VEHICLE. TRAFFIC WAS MOVING FAIRLY SLOW. NO SEMI TRUCKS IN FRONT OF ME. DEALERSHIP SAID A ROCK MUST OF HIT MY SUNROOF BUT NOTHING FOUND.
ITS BEEN 4 MONTHS NOW THAT THE 3RD LIGHT BRAKE IN MY CAR STILL PENDING RESOLUTION. IT BLOCKS MY REAR VIEW AS IT IS HANGING 3 INCHES DOWN WITH THIS BLACK SQUARE 5 X 5 X 5 TO COVER TH LIGHT. I CAN'T DRIVER THIS CAR IN THE NIGHT BECAUSE ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVER IT DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE BOX. I AM STILL WAITING FOR FOR HONDA TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM
DRIVING THE CAR HOME AT 7 PM AND HEARD A LOUD POP NOISE LIKE A GUNSHOT. NO OTHER VEHICLES IN SITE AND ON A ROAD WHERE THERE ARE NO HOMES JUST OPEN FIELDS. PULLED OVER TO FIND THE SUNROOF HAD A HUGE HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT AND THE REST OF THE GLASS THAT WAS STILL TACT WAS IN TINY PIECES LIKE AND LOOKED LIKE A SPIDER WEB. THE GLASS WAS PROTRUDING UPWARD LIKE IT HAD PRESSURE FROM THE INSIDE. HAD THE THE VISOR FOR THE SUNROOF BEEN OPEN IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS BEING DRIVEN THIS GLASS WOULD HAVE FALLEN DIRECTLY INTO OUR EYES POSSIBLY CAUSING VISION PROBLEMS. I CALLED HONDA CARE AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY SAID BY THE TIME THE CAR GOT TO THE DEALER SHIP TO BE REPAIRED IT HAD VERY LITTLE GLASS LEFT IN IT. THIS CAR HAS UNDER 2500 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE NOT EVEN PAID THE FIRST NOTE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE APPLIED, IT ROLLED AWAY AND CRASHED INTO A HANDICAP PARKING POLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE APPLICATION OF THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL UNIT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V725000 (PARKING BRAKE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,050. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA CIVIC. UPON CHANGING GEARS FROM PARK TO ANY OTHER GEAR, THE GEARS WERE SLOW TO CHANGE OVER. THE VEHICLE JERKED AND LATER ACCELERATED TO CHANGE GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN THREE TIMES, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE REPLICATED AND DIAGNOSED. A SERVICE CENTER MANAGER INDICATED THAT THE CONDITION WAS EXPERIENCED MORE THAN TWICE FROM A TEST DRIVE, BUT PROVIDED NO RECOMMENDED SOLUTION. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR WEEKS. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE THE DEALER WITH A REMEDY. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V574000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.

MORE THAN 10 INSTANCES CAUGHT ON VIDEO AND PICTURES. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN IT ENDANGERED CAR PASSENGERS' SAFETY BY SHOWING WRONG INFORMATION AND GIVING WRONG DIRECTIONS IN UNFAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS WHERE GPS/NAVIGATION SYSTEM WERE NEEDED. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN BACK TO THE SELLING DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR REPAIR: FIRST TIME A NAVIGATION SOFTWARE "RESET" WAS PERFORMED, SECOND TIME WAS KEPT FOR 9 DAYS AND THE HMI HEAD WAS REPLACED, THIRD TIME WAS KEPT FOR 6 DAYS AND THE ANTENNA WAS REPLACED. IT CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. AFTER MORE THAN 21 DAYS OF DRAGGING THEIR FEET THE SELLING DEALERSHIP HAS AGREED TO LOOK AT THE CAR AGAIN, MONDAY JAN. 16TH. THE CAR RIGHT NOW HAS LESS THAN 4,500 MILES.
TAKATA RECALL HEY, MY CAR HONDA CIVIC COUPE BROKE DOWN IN SEPTEMBER REASON WAS TIRE AND BRAKE I THINK. I WAS DRIVING IN REGULAR SPEED AND MY TIRE BLOWOFF AND BRAKE DIDN'T WORK IN SAME TIME. I RUN OVER THE HILL AND BROKE MY BOTH EXCEL.
DURING COLD START UP OR WARM START UP, THERE IS MECHANICAL GRINDING NOISE. THE GRINDING NOISE DOES NOT HAPPEN CONSTANTLY BUT AT RANDOM, INDICATING THERE MAY BE A MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION ON ENGINE COMPONENT.
THE HIGH-MOUNTED BRAKE LIGHT COVER, MOUNTED ON THE REAR WINDOW, HAS DETACHED ITSELF FROM THE WINDOW. THIS HAS RESULTED IN A LOSS OF VISIBILITY DUE TO THE PLASTIC COVER BLOCKING IMPORTANT VISUAL INFORMATION FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR. IN ADDITION, RED LIGHT FROM THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATES THE REAR WINDOW, MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUTSIDE AT NIGHT. I REPORT THIS TO THE DEALER (ROBERTS HONDA IN DOWNINGTOWN, PA) WHO SAID THAT "ALL CIVIC COUPES HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, HONDA AMERICA IS AWARE, BUT HAS NOT PROVIDED A FIX"

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE, BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM, AND AIR BAG SRS WARNING INDICATORS FLASHED, AND THE LANE KEEP ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR DEACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS AND GAUGES FLICKERED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT PLACED TWO CALLS TO THE MANUFACTURER, LEFT A VOICE MESSAGE, AND WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
The rearview camera image may not appear. This does not happen constantly, but it will happen from time to time when reversing. Sometimes the problem will not correct itself until the vehicle is restarted. I did not know that a safety recall might be needed until I just saw the recall for the same issue in the Honda Pilots
PURCHASED A NEW 2016 CIVIC TOURING IN MAY 2016. WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS I WAS HAVING SMALL ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS SCREENS GOING BLACK, REBOOTING, AND STEREO NOT WORKING. I WOULD GET A FAILURE WARNING ON THE DASH ONCE IN AWHILE (DIFFERENT EACH TIME). CAR FAILED TO START ON JULY 26TH 2016. ALL SCREENS WERE FLASHING ERROR MESSAGES. CAR WOULD NOT START. I CALLED THE DEALER AND HAD THE CAR TOWED. DEALER CLAIMED THEY HAVE NEVER SEEM THIS PROBLEM. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND STATED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I WOULD CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME SMALL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR EVERY SO OFTEN. UNTIL, THE CAR SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP BY ITSELF AND COMPUTER TOOK 100% CONTROL OF THE CAR. I COULDN'T STEER, ACCELERATE, OR CONTROL THE CAR AT ALL. I NEARLY GOT REAR ENDED IN AN INTERSECTION. THERE WAS NOT A CAR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE TO BRAKE IN ORDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. AFTER THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP I REGAINED CONTROL AGAIN AND THE CAR OPERATED NORMAL. SOON AFTER, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR I RECEIVED THE ALL THE ERROR CODES AGAIN AND IT THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I AGAIN CALLED THE DEALER AND HAD IT TOWED. DEALER CANNOT TELL ME WHY THE CAR SELF BRAKED AND CANNOT REPLICATE IT. I HAVE AN OPEN CASE# WITH HONDA OF AMERICA. I HAVE TOLD BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA OF AMERICA THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER ARE BOTH SCARED FOR THEIR SAFETY TO DRIVE IT. NO ONE FROM MY FAMILY INCLUDING MYSELF WILL BE DRIVING THE CAR EVER AGAIN, NOR CAN I SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN APRIL 2016 AND IN SEPTEMBER 2016 I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE AC BLOWING HOT AIR. HONDA TOLD ME THEY FOUND NOTHING. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA NOVEMBER 2019, THAT THERE WERE ISSUES WITH THE CONDENSER. ASSUMING THIS WAS THE PROBLEM I TOOK IT SO THEY CAN TAKE A LOOK AT IT. BECAUSE IT WAS A LEAKY COMPRESSOR AND NOT THE CONDENSER, I HAD TO PAY $150 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. FROM OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ HERE, THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WITH A LEAKING COMPRESSOR. HOW CONVENIENT FOR HONDA!! THEY ARE NOW PROFITTING FROM THESE DIAGNOSTICS TEST AND IGNORING THAT THEIR AC HAS OTHER PROBLEMS. AND TO TOP IT OFF THEY ARE CHARGING $1600 TO FIX A FAULTY AC.

THIS IS A BLINDING AND DISTRACTING LIGHT THAT PREVENTS ME FROM SEEING OUT OF MY BACK WINDOW. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. DEALER REFUSES TO FIX THIS AS PER INSTRUCTIONS FROM HONDA.

HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THIS DESIGN FLAW PROBLEM ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

THEY ORDERED A NEW ASSEMBLY AND TRIED TO ATTACH IT. THE ASSEMBLY WAS UNGLUED BEFORE I GOT HOME. IT HAS NOT YET COME FULLY OFF, BUT IT IS A DISTRACTION AND, WHEN USING THE BRAKES AT NIGHT, OBSCURES MY VISION THROUGH THE REAR WINDSHIELD. DEALER SAID THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT AN ARE WAITING ON HONDA OF AMERICA TO COME UP WITH A REPAIR. VERY POOR ENGINEERING ON HONDA'S PART AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO IF/WHEN THE THING COMES FULLY OFF. I WAS DRIVING HOME THE FIRST TIME I TOOK NOTICE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM WITH CRACKED WINDSHIELDS IS HAPPENING ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH THIS MODEL HONDA CIVIC X. AT A CERTAIN FREEWAY SPEED 60+ MPH WITH THE COMBINATION OF A PARTICULAR INCLINE OF THE ROADWAY THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE STARTS TO SLIGHTLY FISHTAIL WHICH LEADS TO INSTABILITY IN CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE. THIS FISHTAILING ACTION TAKES PLACE AT THE DOWNWARD TRAVEL ON THE INCLINING ROAD. WE HAVE TESTED THIS PHENOMENON SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES THAT CERTAIN SPEED AND CERTAIN ROADWAY INCLINE IT HAS DONE THIS FISHTAILING MOTION. IT'S BEEN ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT FREEWAYS WITH THE SAME DEGREE OF INCLINE. WE HAVE OWNED SEVERAL HONDA CIVICS AND ACURAS IN OUR FAMILY AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS DRIVING INSTABILITY IN ANY OF THESE VEHICLES. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED, THINKING THIS MIGHT BE THE ISSUE? NO CHANGE AT ALL. MY WIFE GETS 'SICK' AFTER RIDING IN SAID CAR. WE SUSPECT THAT THE CAR IS EMITTING VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (VOCS) TO WHICH SHE IS SENSITIVE. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PHENOMENON SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN AUGUST 2016 (IT IS NOW FEBRUARY 2017).
