Abs module failure. Abs Cruce control Stability control Lights on dashboard.
We are experiencing a technical issue with the vehicle, which appears to be caused by a software or component error, rather than user error. This situation has led to the car starting unexpectedly and presenting challenges that could compromise safety while driving. Unfortunately, there has yet to be a recall or resolution communicated by the authorities.
Sudden loss of acceleration. CVT Transmission failure. Vehicle has been single owner and properly maintained, only 72K miles on it. There have been no issues with the transmission up to this incident. Pulling out of a parking lot the car revved and seemed like it wasn't going into gear. Car came to a complete stop in the middle of the road and could not move in any gear. We had it towed to the garage and they confirmed that the transmission oil was completely burnt and that the transmission needed replaced, which they agreed was completely premature.
The passenger side CVC axle is too short and everything that it calls for is 36 in and 1/8 the original is 38 and 5/16 it don't make no sense I've been talking to everyone
Suddenly loss of acceleration. Transmission failure. The vehicle is at Stonecrest Honda. If not for my quick action and low traffic this could have caused a serious accident had I been at highway speed in heavy traffic. Stone rest Honda has confirmed transmission failure. Only warning lamps were unrelated. Intermittent lamps for the brake system and O2 sensor. Both rarely come on. Have had codes ran multiple times no one is ever able to fix the O2 code even the Honda dealership the vehicle was purchased from. Break system lights have been addressed and updates have been done previously and had only re-appeared just before the incident. I have had no issues with my transmission or I would have had the vehicle serviced. No slipping no strange sounds. This came out of nowhere leaving a parking lot from work not even 20 mph. I buy Hondas for the reliability and to have my transmission go at not even 100k miles is almost unheard of. My last Honda was 250K+ and still ran great when I traded it in for this one. This CVT is a problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated while pulling into the drive way, the vehicle stalled and the the steering wheel lost power steering. Several messages indicating a transmission, parking brake, hill assist, fuel gauge, steering, braking , traction control, charging system failures were displayed. The vehicle hit the garage door. The contact attempted to reverse but the gear shifter remained stuck into park (P) position. The contact manually disengaged the transmission linkage located in the AC system. The contact then pushed the vehicle backwards. An independent mechanic came to the contact's residence and diagnosed that the transmission control module (TCM) had failed and had affected the computer system, which led to the failure. The independent mechanic associated the failure with Honda Technical Service Bulletin Number: 17-012. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified and informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at his own expense as the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
The gear shift is loose. Not stable. With switch into a different mode with the slightest tap without having to have my foot on the brake or pushing the release button to move to a different gear.
I have oil dilution in my 2015 Honda Civic EX-T VIN [XXX]. Dealer performed the fixes. The Next time I had the oil sample checked it was worse. The oil smells like a weedeater. I am at 13.72% fuel in the oil. Very Rich. I live in Alabama where it is hot. I only drive long distances to and from work on the interstate. I need help. Honda is doing nothing. They are not telling the dealer anything or sharing any specs as acceptable percentage fuel in the oil. It is a coverup. TSBs have been done and engine checked and injectors are good. Please advise. SUDDEN BODY CONTROL MODULE FAILURE CAUSES MULTIPLE, FALSE WARNINGS (WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY) TO LIGHT UP SUCH AS BRAKE SYSTEM, STEERING, OIL, BATTERY, KEYLESS REMOTE SYSTEM. DRIVER DOES NOT KNOW IF SHE/HE SHOULD HEED THESE WARNINGS. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING. CAR ACCESSORY MODE WOULD TURN ON BY ITSELF (WHILE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND KEY IS AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE) AND DRAIN OUT BATTERY. HONDA SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOUND BCM FAULTY. PLEASE REFER TO RECALL #: 20V-771 ON THIS KNOWN ISSUE WITH HONDA VEHICLES. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO INCLUDE HONDA CIVICS.
JUST THE OTHER DAY I FLOORED IT TO PASS SOMEONE AND MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AS I PRESSED THE GAS THE RPM'S WOULD GO UP BUT I HAD 0 ACCELERATION. I EVENTUALLY PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY WHEN I TURNED IT, MY CAR STAR SHUTTLE BEFORE STOP THE ACCELERATION AND HAPPEND EVERY TIME WHEN I TRY ACCELERATE THE CAR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE BEGAN LOSING POWER. SOON AFTER, MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP. I BARELY HAD ENOUGH POWER TO CLEAR THE BUSY FREEWAY. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO AUTONATION HONDA IN CHANDLER, AZ, WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED FUEL IN THE OIL. HE SAID HONDA WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM ON THIS 1.5 TURBO ENGINE, BUT NO FIX EXISTED. HE CHANGED THE OIL AND RELEASED THE CAR BACK TO ME. AFTER JUST A FEW MINUTES ONLINE, I DISCOVERED THE HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE ISSUE. I KNOW HONDA SAYS IT ONLY HAPPENS IN COLD CLIMATES, BUT THAT DAY WAS OVER 100 DEGREES F. ALSO, THE OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP APPROX. 6 WEEKS EARLIER AND ONLY 619 MILES BEFORE THE EVENT. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AT NIGHT OR ON THE FREEWAY IN CASE THIS HAPPENS AGAIN.
MY CAR RANDOMLY LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY FORCING ME TO TURN ON HAZARDS AND MAKE MY WAY FROM THE EXPRESS LANE TO THE NEAREST OFF RAMP GOING 20 MPH WHILE TRYING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH RAPIDLY CAUSING FURTHER ANXIETY. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO MAKE MY WAY TO SAFETY AND CALL A TOW TRUCK. I ATTEMPTED TO HAVE MY CAR DELIVERED TO THE NEAREST HONDA (WALNUT CREEK CA) HOWEVER THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY AVAILABILITY FOR A FEW DAYS. THE CAR ALSO HAD LOTS OF SMOKE COMING OUT THE EXHAUST AND READ CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL ON AND OFF. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE AND WHO KNOWS WHAT IT'S GOING TO COST ME TO REPAIR. ON TOP OF ALL THE WORK I'LL LOOSE BEING MY WORK RELIES ON MY CAR 100%. I'VE OWNED NOTHING BUT HONDAS HOWEVER THIS TIME I FEEL I MADE A BAD PURCHASE BUYING A NEW 2017 CIVIC. I'VE KEPT UP WITH MAINTENANCE, ONLY GOES TO DEALERSHIP, PUMPED NOTHING BUT PREMIUM GASOLINE. I AM SAD, UPSET, ANGRY, ANXIOUS AND VERY MUCH STILL IN DISBELIEF THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY 3 YEAR OLD CAR AT ONLY 80,000 MILES . WHAT CAN I DO? IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING SAME ISSUE? I GOT A CODE P0299 TURBO UNDERBOOST
SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL START BY ITSELF AND THEN THE ALARM GOES OFF .ANN THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY.
I STOPPED IN A PARKING SPACE AND TURNED OFF MY 2017 HONDA CIVIC TOURING SPORT IN A PARKING GARAGE (2/27/2020) WHEN THE CAR WAS IN 'DRIVE', NOT 'PARK.' WHILE STORING ITEMS BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE CAR ROLLED ACROSS A LANE OF TRAFFIC (12 FEET?) AND HIT ANOTHER CAR CAUSING BUMPER DAMAGE. MY CAR DID THIS SO SILENTLY THAT THE ONLY ALERT I RECEIVED WAS THE CRASH ITSELF; THE CAR'S COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM DID NOT ENGAGE. MY 14 MONTH OLD BABY WAS SITTING IN A REAR FACING CAR SEAT. HAD OTHER DRIVERS NOT BEEN CAREFUL, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SIDE IMPACT COLLISION. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THESE CARS ARE SUPPOSED TO GO INTO PARK WHEN THEY'RE TURNED OFF. IN CLOSING, I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH, AND SEVERAL OTHER 2017 AND 2018 HONDA CIVIC OWNERS HAVE FILLED 'ROLLAWAY CAR' COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS ONE: HTTPS://TOPCLASSACTIONS.COM/LAWSUIT-SETTLEMENTS/CONSUMER-PRODUCTS/AUTO-NEWS/868008-HONDA-CIVIC-ROLLAWAY-PROBLEM-PURPORTEDLY-ROLLED-FORWARD-TO-2017-AND-2018-CARS/ HTTPS://WWW.CLASSACTION.ORG/HONDA-ROLL-AWAY-LAWSUITS THIS VEHICLE SEEMS AS UNSAFE AS A 737 MAX!
AT COLD START, THE IDLING ENGINE SHAKES THE STEERING WHEEL, DASHBOARD, AND MUCH OF THE CABIN. IT FEELS LIKE A POORLY SEATED MOTOR MOUNT. I'VE DRIVEN CIVICS MY WHOLE LIFE AND HAVE NEVER FELT A SHAKE LIKE THIS ONE. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND LEFT IT OVERNIGHT IN HOPES OF REPLICATING THE COLD START. THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM BUT I'M BEGINNING TO WORRY.
MY OILS IS BEING DILUTED BY FUEL STRONG ODER OF GAS FROM OIL. SHOWS THAT IT IS OVER FILLED . WHEN IT IS COLD OUT SIDE MY ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT IS STUTTERING AND IT STARTS TO CLICK UNDER ACCELERATION. MY CAR HAS ALREADY HAD FUEL RAIL AND INJECTORS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY FOR MISFIRING ISSUES AND MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF ON ME MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON BUSY 50 MPH ROADS AND HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. EVERY HONDA DEALER I'VE BROUGHT IT TO SAYS THIS IS NORMAL AND WILL NOT ADMIT THAT MY OIL IS DILUTED. BUT I HEARD THEM SAYING HOW BAD THE OIL SMELL OF GAS
VIBRATION IN ENGINE
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer for an oil change and the contact was informed by the service tech that there was a lubrication leak underneath the passenger’s side of the vehicle.
