I traded in my 2022 civic in November because the car would randomly shut down because of the faulty denso fuel pump. I told Norm Reeves Cerritos that once I put fuel cleaner the car will shut down 3-5 times the same day and will reoccur again in eight months. Replicated same problem with the sports model after car was in shop 3 months because of an accident and while doing Uber this week with witnesses. Filed numerous complaints with BBB and Honda Corporate all were ignored and they blamed me for putting a third party device in the cigarette lighter.
Steering wheel starts to stick or bind after a 30 minute drive. When stopped there is clunk coming from the electronic power steering. Once on the high way, the steering wheel gets really sticky and when trying to do a small correction it jerks. After a while it becomes really unsafe to drive since all the correction you make are extreme and it struggles to keep the car centered on the lane without constant struggle.
On several (more than 10) occasions, my vehicle at random has randomly either shown me "BRAKE" or it actually started to brake for me for absolutely nothing. On at least 3 occasions, most recently 5/9/22, the AEB system has activated with nothing in front of me on a straight, level road. Third-party forums report that this is a known issue as well. Thankfully no one was behind me as the system activating would have rapidly slowed the car had I not intervened.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V744000 (STEERING) and 23V704000 (STEERING); however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated while driving at 35 MPH, the steering wheel failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact merged to the side of the road as the steering wheel kept veering to the left. On a separate occasion, the contact was driving at 35 MPH, when the vehicle veered too much into the left, causing the contact to crash into a barrier. No police report was filed. The two left wheels were damaged, and the vehicle was taken to a body shop. The two left wheels were repaired and the vehicle was painted however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with steering rack assembled incorrectly and left wheel failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
I’ve had my car for three four months and today Some light turned on in the car saying my brake system is failing Lane collision High lights failings Auto cruise failing
The steering stiffens up (once the engine warms up) while driving and gives unnecessary resistance on initial attempt to turn the steering wheel in any direction (especially at highway speeds). It becomes very tedious on a long drive. I took the car to a dealership and they made a few changes to the settings but it did not fix the problem. They said they would need the car for several days and drive it under various conditions. They claim they had never heard of this problem before. I have a feeling they are going to tell me it's an intermittent problem and not a big enough issue to consider further action. (I've been through that with other vehicles I've owned) I would have to rent a car in order to leave my Civic with them.
3 months after purchasing my 2022 honda civic, I started to experience problems with my steering. At first, I thought it was because it was a new car and was stiffer but other people driving my car told me it was not normal. I can explain it has a sticky feeling in the steering driving past 30-40 mph. It becomes hard to keep in my lane as I am always jerking it back and forth as it steers off and the wheel feels stuck. I took it to my Honda dealership where they confirmed it was the power steering. The part has been on back order for over 4 months now and they informed me it was safe to drive my car. Within 4 months, it has gotten worse and my arms will be sore and hurting after driving. It also started to make a clicking noise as I steer.
While driving on the freeway at 75 mph, the Adaptive Cruise Control was engaged, and when commnig up behind a slower moving truck in the slow lane, our car decelerated to match it's speed. I then went to pass the truck after several vehicles passed us on the left. As soon as I started to change lanes, the cruise control shut itself off and the car started to slow down with several more cars now right behind us in the fast lane. Once we were past the truck and back in the slow lane, I tried to re-engage the ACC, which refused to turn back on. It only gave a beep and showed an icon on the display that said ACC was off. (it was not off). The ACC would only start working again after we had gotten off the freeway and stoped the car. On this same trip, the ACC turned itself off, on about 6 or 7 different occasions. There was also a time when I was following a vehicle with ACC on, following at medium distance, and another vehicle sped past me on the left, and darted between our car and the one we had been following, and continued past that vehicle on the right side. As this other car passed between us and through, our car suddenly sped way up, forcing me to slam on the brakes so we wouldn't rear-end the vehicle in front of us. At this point, I do not trust the ACC, or any of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in this car, and will NOT be using them unless Honda makes some fixes. (and even then, I will be wary) Prior to this trip, my wife was in the car, parked, with engine off, using the radio to listen to a pod-cast via her phone (plugged into the usb) and the car suddenly gave her a warning message that all of the Driver Assist functions were disabled, and to please see the dealer. We took it in, and they said there were known issues with some of the cameras and they would replace ours when they get one in. They still haven't got one in, however, everything started working again on it's own after the dealer had looked at it.
At random times under all driving conditions, the cruise control will shut off. There will be an alert sound without any subsequent information and the car will start decelerating. The system cannot be re-engaged until after the car comes to a complete stop and the engine is restarted. There are many reports of this on Honda forums. Here is a link: https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/
While driving on a interstate highway with adaptive cruise control enabled the adaptive cruise control system unexpectedly disabled itself. I was in the process of passing another vehicle, it was sunny and clear and suddenly I heard a long beep and the vehicle started to slow down. I briefly looked at the dashboard but see any warning but noticed ACC was off. Once it was safe again I attempted to re-enable ACC but the system refused saying ACC was off. At the next rest area I stopped and shut off the vehicle, only after that I could use ACC again. It's unknown if any of the other Honda sense features were disabled but this unexpected behavior is a concern. There is an entire thread at https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/ which indicates others are having the same issue.
in a few different events I have had my 2022 civic but emergency brake with no object in front of me and pull me out of the lane instead of steering me in lane. I have provided Honda with video and picture evidence and they can't seem to do anything to fix it and I can no longer comfortable use those features and feel safe driving the vehicle.
Sticky steering wheel. At first it wasnt happening alot but but its getting very dangerous. While driving on the highway during a curve the steering gets stuck and sometime i habe to lightly rock the steering wheel to get it out of the stuck position. Almost everyone inknow has this issue with this civic. Im not sure why there's no recall on this.
When I was driving on the George Washington Memorial Parkway I came across a part of the parkway that was under work by construction. As the lane begun to end i moved into the next lane as guided by the construction barrels, but the lane keep assist function would not allow me to steer onto the part of the road that I wanted to, and actually jerked me back onto the side of the road that had the barrels, causing my side mirror to collide with the barrels and the back cover came off and the mirror isn't adjustable through use of the adjustable mirror button in the car anymore.
My steering wheel sticks, I took it to the dealer approx March 2022 could have been later date im not sure but the service techs and the service manager said it did not stick for them. I could no longer keep the rental car so I took my car back. It has been sticking ever since and sometimes you have to yank the wheel to get it to turn
While driving on a freeway, the cruise control will beep and then automatically and abruptly turn off and it will not turn back on. To turn it back on I have to pull the car over and, sometimes, turn it off and turn it back on to get the cruise control working again. This has happened multiple times and the frequency is about 2 times a week.
Sunroof shattered on freeway New vehicle
Steering becomes sticky and stuck when turning to left as steering must be manually auto-corrected to center mostly more prominent on highway speeds causing car to be at serious risk for crash. Dealer diagnosed problem as PS rack and replacement is around $3k with out of pocket or extended warranty. This was a known issue for previous generation and continues to be an issue in this generation.
Frequently the EPS (electric power steering) feels “sticky” when making minor adjustments while steering at speed. Usually happens above 30 mph and sometimes can be scary as the stickiness nearly causes over correction in steering. After inspection Dealer stated my car needs new eps system. It seems like this is an issue with many vehicles like mine.
Didn’t brake when car accident happened from front also seat belts don’t hold on braking in drivers side
My car locked up the steering and then I hear a random noise and I don't have control of it so I almost crash into another car, but was able to move over into a stop sign so my front bumper got hit and I already took it into a shop to do a replacement bumper.
Steering locks and is sticking after driving straight. Difficult to steer. Over correcting during driving causing lane change. DANGEROUS.
Since purchasing my vehicle in 2022, I’ve experienced my seat “click and unclick” after adjusting it as well as at random times when driving. As I’ve been reviewing recalls for my own year/make/model, I recently found that 2023-24 Hondas & Acuras were experiencing a similar issue and have had a recall for their seat frame bolt. However, I’m unsure if it’s due to the same reason, as I’ve not seen other related complaints for my own year/make/model.
Steering becomes hard to make adjustments after about 15 min of driving, and makes a noticeable noise when turning
Cruise control shuts off while on interstate without any warning. Have taken to dealer and no codes and unable to reproduce. Happens every commute on interstate. Have to stop car turn of ignition and then works again. No warning lamps, messages. Honda aware of situation and not offering fix. Car has less then 1500miles
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH and turning the steering wheel, the steering wheel was sticky and resistant. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V704000 (Steering) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the steering rack was installed correctly. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA23003 (Steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
My wife purchased a new 2022 Honda civic sport, it has lane control assist and at high speed it wonders, pulls side to side, follows lanes color change, pulls into a curve and pulls when going by big trucks into the truck. I have to hold the steering very tight and it has made my arms hurt from the straining. I went to Honda 4 time before anyone admitted it has a serious problem. Hammer Honda in Reseda Ca, verified the problems. The book clear states the lane change assist may or may not work, Honda denies anything is wrong. This is a safety issue and we have had 4 near crash events. I am a Certified Trained Alignment Technician and know cars well, I have 43 years of hands on experience, this car is unsafe and no one at Honda is disclosing this safety issue with this 2022 Honda Civic Sports. The expert at Honda on the 4th visit Witnessed and Verified the Lane Change Assists not working properly at 50 mph.
Purchased vehicle 1/31/2022 from dealership with only 5 miles on it. while driving to work 2/3/2022 cruise control was set, came behind a vehicle and when switched lanes to pass. cruise control turned off and decreased speed rapidly and was unable to restart system. Almost was rear ended by traffic behind me. Called dealership and they said to bring it in to see what is going on. Confirmed issue with cruise control was told that it would "be a while to get fixed" it is now 5/12/22 and the part has not even been ordered and i am unable to use cruise control as i dont know when it will quit working and even when i turn off the vehicle it will not work for several trips after the car is turned off.
I was driving at 75MPH in Adaptive Cruise Control. The closest car in front or beside me was at least 1/4 mile away. The weather was perfect, no rain, wind, etc. Just sunshine. Without Notice, the car automatically braked, the BRAKE light showed up in the dash. The braking period lasted about two seconds during which time inertia slammed me forward. Fortunately there were no cars immediately in back of me or I no doubt probably would have been rear-ended. I did not step on the brake pedal or the gas pedal during this period. My vehicle is scheduled to be at the Dealers Service Center in 6 days but with all the intermittent issues I am having with this vehicle, I am sure they will say they cannot replicate the problem. My assumption is that the forward collision system intermittently axctivated.
“Sticky” sensation/feedback when making minor correction to steering on highways/speeds greater than about 40mph. Needing to make slight corrections to stay in lane the steering requires extra force to “unstick” the steering wheel causing an over-correction. This posses potential safety issue to driver, passengers, and other motorists in the road. Began a few months after purchasing the vehicle in November 2021 and has been an issue ever since.
I purchased a 2022 Honda Civic in the fall of 2021, brand new. After about 10K miles I noticed that the steering wheel was somewhat sticking and tough to turn at times. I brought this to the attention of my Honda dealer who advised that they could not get the vehicle to duplicate this. The problem continues to get worse as time goes on. At every oil change, I complain of the same thing, and get the same response. The problem is worse the longer I drive it during the day. I now have 43K miles on the vehicle and the problem is worse. I can turn the steering wheel to either side and the wheel will not return to a straight position without assisted effort.
My steering rack has failed twice now, I purchased the car in August of 2021 and I have had a rental for over 7 months now combined. They are quoting July for the new part, likely replacing it with the same part that will fail again. Issues include: "sticky" steering wheel. Making it difficult to drive at low speeds, it is a safety concern not being able to make micro adjustments. Sometimes it pretty much locks and takes 2-3 lbs of pressure to "break" it free. It doesn't sound like much but when you're doing 70+ on the interstate it is incredibly dangerous. The first time it failed I was below 15k miles, then second time was right around 30k miles. The dealer has acknowledged the issue both times but has failed to replace it with a non-defective part.
My 2022 Honda Civic Sport has been having an issue with the steering rack it seems. The steering wheel gets stuck when turning left and right. It "sticks". This is super frustrating with it being a new car. I have never been in a vehicle that has an issue like this, and it seems that many people have the same issue as me.
The wiper blades on the 2022 Civic are prone to fail in cold temperatures. They fail to properly clear the windshields and effectively prevent the driver from being able to see. To me, it's an obvious design defect that causes the wiper blades to lift away from sections of the windshield. This is a serious safety issue that must be repaired.
Cruise control randomly shuts itself off and will not turn back on.
My cruise control will randomly shut off and deactivate when I'm on the highway. It has almost caused me to have accidents due to the sudden deactivation and cars traveling behind me. I am unable to reactive my cruise until I come to a complete stop. This has happened to me since the day I have had the car and it happens sometimes serval times a day, or not at all. It is completely random when it happens. I have had my car in the Honda shop a couple of times and they are unable to figure out the cause or the problem. I am a home health nurse and rely on my car and cruise control and I'm worried about my safety because of this malfunction. I have looked online and there are a lot of discussion groups with the exact same thing happening in their 2022 civics.
About 6 months after I purchased this car in early 2022, the steering wheel began to get stuck when turning and curving with roadways. I took my car to the Honda dealership and was turned away several times due to them not knowing what was wrong. As of today, May 2023 the steering wheel getting stuck is worsening to the point where I am concerned for my safety.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) has been randomly shutting off out of nowhere during my drive. This has been happening off and on for two months and is NOT happening due to the reasons it could happen in the owners manual. It will not turn back on unless I pull over and shut off the car or place the transmission into park which forces me to leave a highway. Today without ACC even on I get 5 warnings including collision mitigation brake system failure and to see a dealer (pictures attached for all 5 warnings that came on the dashboard today). I saw Rudolph Honda in El Paso TX today and the service center lady told me she is aware of this problem and already tried to diagnose another 2022 Civic with no luck and there are no rentals to help me leave my car for further diagnostics and i cannot be seen for a week at Borman Honda in Las Cruces NM nearby where I live. So Honda is putting me out for my time and money i give them for this faulty ACC and related safety systems. I feel unsafe as this shuts off out of no where and could cause me to get rear-ended as last time this happened the car suddenly decelerated with someone behind me. This car is available for inspection.
Vehicle purchased new from Honda dealership in Yuma AZ in June of 2021. Within 2nd day of ownership, the cruise control abruptly shut off causing a safety risk of driver's behind me coming close to rear end collision. The cruise control has abruptly and without warning has randomly shut off over 40 times since then. Vehicle has been taken in for repair 4 times with no resolve. Honda tried adjusting brake switch on first repair attempt, did not fix the issue. Second and third attempts the dealership replaced the SRS module and the brake switch. Drove vehicle for 800 miles, then the issue arose again, causing the car to immediately slow, causing others behind me to have to brake quickly putting me at risk of rear end collision. Opened a case with American Honda, case number12509879. American Honda and the dealership states "they can not fix the issue until they actually see it for themselves acting up", which it does not act up when they drive it. I have many, many videos of the cruise control randomly shutting off and me being unable to reengage the cruise control. The only solution so far is to pull off the roadway, shut the car off, restart it, cruise will activate then. Visit the following website to see how many others are having same issue: https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/
While driving on HWY to work the automatic high beams would go to low followed by the automatic cruise control would cancel with a warning stating it was unavailable. It did this three times on the way to work in the morning and once in the afternoon going home on the same day, one of the times it would not let me turn ACC back on stating it was unavailable. The following day it happened again on the way to work in the morning.
Driving car on I-76 in Pennsylvania. Speed set to 72 MPH. Passed a truck and the cruise control shut off without warning and would not restart. This posed a risk to me because I had just completed a pass of a truck and started to slow without my knowledge. This resulted in the truck catching back up to me on a curve - a dangerous situation (a truck would never pass on the right, let alone in a curve.)
Driving the vehicle on the interstate and cruise control will randomly turn off and I cannot turn the cruise control back on until I pull over and put the vehicle in park. I feel it is unsafe to have to pull over on the interstate and put the vehicle in park to be able to use cruise control. This is the only fix to the issue right now, so when I am on a long trip, I have to pull over so I know I can maintain a safe constant speed.
Twice while using the Adaptive cruise control on the interstate my vehicle gave me a "BRAKE" warning and automatically applied hard braking on my vehicle even though this was at 0430 in the morning and no cars present on the interstate. I too pressed the brake and cancel on the steering wheel to try and disengage the Adaptive cruise control, so I could regain control of my vehicle. The first time it happened, it caught me off guard. The second time it happened, I was waiting for it. I drove with my hand able to disengage cruise control as soon as it would happen. This was an attempt to verify if the first time was a fluke or if there was a real problem. I have not used my cruise control since because I cannot trust it. Luckily these were when the traffic was light on the interstate and it did not cause a wreck.
I have aligned to my wheels 3 times and I'm still having issues keeping the steering straight it feels like I'm floating around. Also when reversing I hear I load clunking noise coming from the back.
My 2022 Honda Civic has been having issues with the EPS Rack and Parts. There has been a recall on this part on the Honda Civics and unfortunately my vehicle was not on the list of cars that was made in the manufacturing time. My car is extremely hard to turn the steering wheel while driving and it causes my cruise control steering system to not work correctly almost causing many accidents. I have also had to buy 2 new sets of tires as it has caused them to wear down faster. Ive had alignments and the car will still steer me to the right direction. The front tires rub very harshly when I need to make a turn. When turning it makes many noises. When I go start to go about 45mph the car will start shaking very harshly until 80mph. The car started to shake and make clunking noises about 6 months in to me having the vehicle and the Honda dealership said it was normal and the issues continued to get worse. As soon as I saw the recall come out I quickly scheduled an appointment for it to be looked at just for my specific car to not be on the list but have all issues that the recall is creating on these vehicles. This is very dangerous as I have small children and the issues continue to worsen.
Driving down the road with cruise control set, twice it has turned off for no reason. It refuses to turn back on no matter what I do. It can only be "fixed" by restarting the car. My safety and others is at risk because I can't keep my speed as consistent as using cruise control, taking my attention away from the road since I'm now concentrating more in my speed. I have not taken it to the dealer yet as others on the forums say the dealers are doing nothing about it. No warning lamps or warnings of any type before. Once the cruise fails, I get an icon on the screen but no message.
Was driving on the interstate at approximately 75 MPH. Randomly the cruise control stopped keeping speed. Someone was on my tail when it disabled and could not get it to re-engage. The dash said the cruise control system was still enabled, but would not allow me to set the speed. I'm reading on online forums about several other drivers of this particular model vehicle are having this same issue. When trying to set the speed, it beeped 3 times. Turning off the car and back on re-enabled the cruise control.
Adaptive Cruise Control will shut of randomly and for no reason. Must wait for it to re-engage Adaptive Cruise Control or power off/on vehicle. During this time the auto high-beam feature is not useable.
My cruise control shut itself off during interstate driving with a car behind me. This seems to be a widespread issue per owner forums for the 11th generation 2022 model Civics of all varieties. I did not have the driver attention system on, was driving at night, and was not using adaptive cruise control. I have not gone to a dealership yet because per others’ experiences it has been a waste of time. I am calling to let my dealer know of the issue and have them tell me when there is a solution. The issue has just appeared for the first time, my car is at ~1,000 miles, and I’ve had it for about 12 days. I have done very little driving with cruise control but will do a significant amount now. I believe this to be a safety issue. No warning lights come on and I’m order to reset cruise control, I needed to pull to the shoulder, restart the car, which is dangerous enough.
Since day one of purchasing the vehicle which now has 6000 miles on it the cruise control intermittently drop out and you cannot reengage it unless you pull over turn off the car and restart the car
* Steering wheel binds while turning left, usually around 3 degrees. Breaks free with very light touch. * Steering wheel can kick to the left while returning to neutral from a right turn * Steering wheel was strongly kicked to the left about 6 degrees while going up hill. * Going up or downhill greatly increases the incident rate. The vehicle was taken in several times for this issue. It was taken in for a recall notice, and they said they checked the parts to find nothing wrong. I'm - very - certain they did nothing. My car has since been removed from the recall notice on Honda's website. They were only to recreate the issue once since then with zero resolution.
