While driving on the interstate both adaptive cruise control(ACC) and regular cruise control have disengaged on multiple occasions. Once this occurs the cruise control will not engage regardless of whether I try ACC or regular cruise control and I receive a message "Cruise Control Off" and a beep when I try. The only consistent solution seems to be to turn off the car and turn it back on. There have been multiple instances where the system disengaged while I was between other vehicles and my safety was definitely at risk due to a sudden change in speed without a logical traffic reason. I have not had the vehicle inspected by a dealer because this only occurs very randomly(5-10 times in 12,00 miles) and to reproduce it would likely require hours of driving. I am only able to speciically list one date that I know that this problem occured while my friends and I were on a 12 hour road trip back from watching an NFL game. Thankfully I was driving and was already aware of the issue and quickly accelerated away from the 18 wheeler that was tailgating dangerously close behind me. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
The cruise control turns off by itself while driving and cannot be turned back on without restarting the car. It can put others at risk because of the unexpected speed change. The car has 800 miles and it has happened 3 times so far. No warnings or lights occurred prior to it shutting off. This seems to be a common issue according to the posts by others here: https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963
My 2022 Honda, VIN [XXX] when in cruise control mode either Adaptive Cruise Control or regular, Cruise control mode intermittently shuts off. The Automatic headlight diming function also shuts off. There are no messages, warnings or codes associated with it. Attempting to reset the cruise does not works and the car beeps when it is attempted. The only way to reset cruise control is to stop, place the car in Park or stop, place the car in park and turn the ignition off and restart. The issue is that when in traffic on the interstate, when cruise shuts off, operator (me) may not necessarily se it when it happens. As the car slows unknowingly, vehicles behind may run in to the car or create unnecessary congestion. The dealer asked if I could video this and I did. The video was after it shutoff and my attempts to reset it. I provided this video to the dealer and they indicated that it was useless, though it was requested by them. I have had my car at the dealers' service center 3 times now and they could no replicate the issue. However the issue occurs intermittently and usually on long (50 miles or more) interstate drives which they have not performed. The issue started within 1 week of purchasing the vehicle. The environment that this occurs in has always been clear, no inclement weather, sometimes in traffic and others when isolated. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Cruise control (either in Adaptive Cruise Control or regular) disengages randomly and if you attempt to restart the cruise, the cruise control will not work. The cruise control icon will appear on the center display and beep, with the words "Cruise Control Off", to get this working again, the only way I've found is to stop the car and either put it in park and/or shut off the car or turn it back on. The problem seems to happen at random, and so the dealership at this point can not help me. This does not seem to be an isolated incident as others have been posting online about the exact same issue. ( See the following forum posts on https://www.civic11forum.com/threads/anybody-having-cruise-control-issues.963/ ). Perhaps this is a software issue with the cruise on the new models... Hopefully Honda can get an update out fast! Disappointing that such a dangerous issue exists at launch of the new model...
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds with the cruise control activated, the cruise control would independently deactivate without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where they informed him that they were unaware of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
Steering pulls to the side making it very hard to steer. Will stay in lane when going straight but makes your arms sore trying to steer it. Does not happen at all speeds usually above 30mph. Duplicated by dealer. Unable To fix the problem due to steering rack in back order for over 6 months and counting. Will not drive the car as it is my daughters and is unsafe for her. No codes showing at the dealer.
The steering wheel gets stuck or locked.
ACC and normal Cruise control always stops or canceling while on driving on the freeway.
Cruise control disengages 20 minutes after activation. It can not be re-engaged without stopping the car.
have a 22 civic touring sedan. Two weeks ago Two days in a row I have got a warning that there is a problem with the supplemental restraint saying it’s with the airbag or seatbelt and to shut the vehicle off and to restart and to contact a dealer if it persists. I shut the vehicle off and turn it back on and the error clears. The same thing happened last night after I got home from work and unbuckled my seat belt on 9/29/21. Others on a Honda Civic Form online for this year car have reported the same problem and there doesn’t seem to be a fix yet
We purchased a 2022 Civic new on 9/11/21, and after the paperwork was completed, the dealer removed the sticker from the window, and the window has gouges from either manufacturing or shipping. The dealer promised to replace the window. That was two months ago. They have been unable to obtain a new window, and they have no estimate for me when they can obtain one. I called Corporate Honda on 10/8/21, and they could not provided me a part status, and they have never called me back on this topic as of 11/8/21. This window could shatter more easily during an event, and we want a clean new one installed. Parts should be available because they are making new models right now. They are placing production over safety in my instance at this point.
Cruise control shuts off while I am using it without warning and then will not allow me to reengage it. Happens frequently, approximately 2 times a week while I am driving to/from work (about 45 miles each way). Turns off randomly, usually after driving for 30 min. When it shuts off there is only a 2 second beep noise as it is shutting off and no visual messages or warnings. when I try to reengage it, it only gives a quick beep noise but does not turn back on until the car is completely stopped. I brought the vehicle to 2 Honda dealerships 3 separate times for a total of 4 days to get looked at. No one was able to provide a fix. The 2nd time I brought it into Honda, they were able to reproduce the problem but still did not know how to fix it and advised me to bring it to the dealership I leased my vehicle from. This is a big problem because out of nowhere my vehicle will begin to slow down with no warning at all.
Once stopped by a light or a stop sign for a minute the car will randomly shut down engine and the car will lose all power. The vehicle randomly shuts down and does it after 3-5 hours of driving. The car has to be put in park and the ignition needs to be started again.
I bought this car new from a Honda dealer in September of 2021. While driving the car home from the dealership I noticed it did not track straight and well on the highway - I needed to make small steering corrections frequently to keep it centered in the lane. Over the next few months I noticed the steering had small "kicking" motions and seemed to "stick" while driving normally. The car makes these motions at hwy speeds, low speeds, hot weather, cold weather, and sometimes when moving the wheel at rest I felt these stick or kick motions in the steering. These are subtle, mild motions but its alarming to have this happen and makes the car feel unsafe to drive. There is no pattern to when this happens - its totally random and unpredictable. I took the car in to the Honda dealer in December 21 for its first service and asked the service dept to check. I explained it was small steering motions and occurred randomly so they should drive it as long as needed to produce the problem. The dealers reported they could not find any problem with the steering. Since this service visit the steering "kicking" has continued to occur in the same random pattern since the day I bought it. I am a car enthusiest and have owned and drive literally hundreds of cars, trucks, SUV's and class I vehicles with manual steering, hydraulic power steering, and eledctric power steering. I have NEVER EVER had this symptom occur in any vehicle until experiencing in in th2022 Honda Civic. This steering prblem is NOT A NORMAL CONDITION - THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE STEERING SYSTEM THAT IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD.
Fuel efficiency exceptionally poor. Owned for over 1.5 years with 8500+ miles accumulated, rarely met published ratings. Achieved 280 miles per tank, roughly 23/24 mpg average. Driving style adjusted with no effect. Several others who owned the LX and Sport trims manufactured at the Canadian facility in 2021, we came to the conclusion that our Civics are likely part of the same manufacture error/deficiency that caused such poor fuel efficiency.
The electrical system does not read my phone , my phone is an iOS device. The lane departure is not accurate and it needs to be calibrated.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 to 60 mph, the steering wheel was vibrating. The dealer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was inspected; however, the dealer informed the contact that the steering column part was not available. The contact was informed that the vehicle was safe to drive until the part became available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that after receiving the vehicle back from the dealer, there were abnormal sounds coming from the front driver’s and passenger’s side tires while driving. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100.
After driving anywhere from 20-30 minutes my car’s cruise control feature experiences a bug. From my experience while the vehicle is in cruise control the cars system will make a low tone elongated beep and the cruise control system will stop working. As the vehicle is in motion and attempting to engage/set the cruise control feature the HUD alerts that the “cruise control” needs to be on/active. No matter how many times you deactivate and activate cruise control the system will not allow you to set ANY desired speed because it perceives the cruise control feature as “off”. The only fix I’ve found is to come to a complete stop or park and restart the vehicle. I’m not the only person to experience this. The photo uploaded shows the HUD telling me that the ACC is off when it is in fact on. However the system will not engage and set the speed. Yet, I hope I have offered the most details. My suggestion is to rewrite the coding/update for the cars system to detect the cars cruise control feature. OR implement a double click which overrides/automatically turns the CC feature on and SETS the desired speed.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving the traffic sign recognition feature provided an inaccurate speed data. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 307.
Hello, I am a victim of cyber stalking. My vehicle was broken into and someone downloaded some type of application within the audio system. I am hoping you can assist by contacting Honda on my behalf. I have tried going to a local dealership and ask for assistance with a software update but they said i had to download an app on my mobile phone. I cannot download the app because the person is accessing my phone. I have gone to the authorities several times in the past. I am asking that please contact Honda Motor Corp. And if they can contact the dealership in Weymouth MA and provide instructions for how they can provide a software update to my vehicle. The person is tracking my every driven mode. I tried doing a factory reset but that does not work because there seems to be an app or something imbedded. I was just going to remove the external radio feature which is mounted but this, external piece, i believe assist with some safety features. This has been going on for over a year.
