The steering failed and caused an issue on my ball join, vc axle, nuckle, strut. I have a complaint before about the ball joint, looking at all of the cases, and the symptoms. I recall having issues like steering pooping, over steering, and having noices, . The car moved by itself with the steering and caused a lot of suspension problems driving into a pothole. The repair is over 5k. I have a case with Honda that says it is going to take time to inspect my vehicle in another department, and they want me to make an insurance claim affecting me. Honda doesn't want to inspect or have accountability for the issues that the factory or parts have. As a consumer, it is really frustrating that we deal with problems of the factory, but Honda doesn't have a solution or wants to help the affected customers. Previous NHTSA ID number: 11623030
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that when attempting to make a left turn into a parking lot, after being idle, the steering wheel seized while still turned to the left. This caused the vehicle to continue turning to the left. The vehicle resulted in crashing into another vehicle nearby ultimately coming to a complete stop. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact's left hand was fractured. The driver in the other vehicle received injuries as well however the contact was unsure of the exact injuries sustained. Medical attention was needed for both the contact and the other driver. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to their residency. The other vehicle was damaged and needed to be towed. A police report was filed. The contact called the dealer who informed her that the VIN was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering) however the remedy would not be available till December 6, 2024. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,000.
The ball joint metal part broke. The ball joint is not connected to the lower control arm instead the ball joint is a part that has a metal piece included that connects to the lower control arm. The piece is thin and break in my car over a small pothole doing speed limit this would not happen in any other make. The part looks cheap on the metal piece. The safety of the vehicle was bad until I got a safe place to park the car there was a lot of damage the wheel departed of the cv axle making it dangerous. No symptoms just a piece that is thin and dangerous to any inconvenience that drivers may occur. It would be good there is an action and further investigation of the ball joint part and hopefully there is going to be a recall regarding the incident for a lower control arm that connects directly to the ball joint or a more thick and durable piece
Didnt received any mail from manufacturer for recall on my vechicle.

There is a recall to the steering on 2024 Honda civic. I had the steering pull on me towards the right. I am not entirely sure the cause, but would like to address this either way so there is not a potential loss of steering in the future.
Called Honda Service Center regarding recall. Was told that Honda wasn’t planning on fixing the recall unless owner was having problems.
EPS Grbx Greasing. Attempted to get recall repair completed. Honda states parts have not been in for nearly 6 months now.
The steering system of my vehicle frequently locks, sticks, and slips, creating a serious safety hazard and putting both myself and others on the road at risk of losing control. I have reported this issue to Honda multiple times, but no permanent solution has been provided, and Honda denies that the problem exists. Two independent service centers have confirmed the issue. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, but technicians at both Honda and the independent centers have observed the malfunction. The problem first occurred on 10/08/2024, and waiting for the lengthy arbitration process is unsafe. I request that NHTSA urgently investigate this issue.

I called to confirm the recall on my vehicle and after I was told that in fact my vehicle does have a recall that they don't have the parts so I will have to wait, I was not given any time line and absolutely no information on when my vehicle recall will be fixed
The steering gearbox worm wheel in my 2024 Honda Civic (VIN: [XXX] ) has malfunctioned, creating increased friction and resistance, which poses a serious safety risk by compromising my ability to steer safely. This issue, confirmed by Honda’s recall notice (NHTSA Recall Number 24V-744), could lead to loss of control, increasing the risk of an accident. Despite contacting Honda and my dealership multiple times over the past month, no repair or inspection has been performed, and I’ve been unable to get a timeline for resolution. The steering also began making an unusual noise recently, heightening my concern. Given the unresolved safety defect and the car's diminished value, I believe this vehicle qualifies as a “lemon,” and I am seeking either a replacement or relief from the loan due to the financial and safety implications. Start stop feature creates a pause when taking off, has cause me to be bumped in the rear twice. Feature come on automatically when starting the car .it should be off unless wanted , the switch does not always turn system off when pressing. This is an asinine way of designing a function that creates an unneeded hazard. It should be in off at start and option to use. Apparently someone did not look at the potential hazards this could cause. Please contact me at [XXX] to discuss [XXX] . An answer would be appreciated I'm guessing I'm not the only one that has experienced this issue, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
See attached document for complaint.
Twice lately I was following a vehicle towing a trailer with equipment on it. I noticed that the area on the dash which shows vehicles in front of me did not detect these vehicles or their trailers. I am concerned that automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise and forward collision detection will not work.
Please help. I have purchased my 2024 Honda Civic last year in 2023. I’ve had my Honda Civic for a year now. I recently noticed my steering wheel “sticky” as some other 2022-2024 Honda Civic owners have reported and stated on all media’s after researching. This mainly occurs to me after the car has warmed up and or its at its normal temperatures and driving. The steering wheel can feel some “fight” even at 2 degree adjustment while driving. I feel unsafe to drive my car. I have read and discovered some have recalls for this matter of steering rack problems. Honda contacted me weeks after purchasing my Honda Civic and scheduled me to bring in my Honda to have it checked for the recall and apparently my Honda does not have a recall. I have called Honda today, 8/26/2024, and I explained what I am experiencing with my steering and they said due to my car being over 36k miles it’s no longer under warranty even though this problem seems to be more of a recall type and should not require to be under warranty. Perhaps this recall has not been called for yet or discovered and I am reaching out to get help. As I am concerned and I am worried about my safety the safety for others as I am driver and transport passengers on daily basis as part of my job. Please once again help with my case and please investigate. As part of researching I did discover a rough cost of the steering rack and it is expensive and it was just for the part not including labor. This is unsafe and unfair. I hope whoever reads my description can understand my situation and help me. I am willing to cooperate with any information needed for this investigation as I believe it to be a future recall especially since the car has not had any accidents nor damages whatsoever. Please help my case.

Drivers side door trim peeling off. Clearly a problem, as I own a 2024 Honda Accord in addition to my 2024 Honda Civic. Both are having the same issue of the drivers side door trim/weather stripping peeling from the door.
I was driving on an interstate highway in upstate NY, just past dusk, when my 2024 Honda Civic attempted to come to a rapid stop without my input. My car decelerated violently, dropped about 20 mph in speed, then immediately accelerated back to the speed set on my cruise control. I did have the Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist engaged when this happened. Interestingly, there was not another car around me nor coming my way in the opposite lanes and the weather was 72 degrees and overcast. This event scared the hell out of me and I was lucky that no other vehicle was close behind in my lane at the time!
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the front driver’s side headlight assembly had experienced water intrusion, and the headlight failed to illuminate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the headlight assembly, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the due to the water intrusion into the headlight assembly, the body control module failed to operate as needed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 11,000.
Vehicle dashboard where speedometer is displayed went completely black while driving. The AC stopped blowing cold air and red flashing warning light came on with the word brake. I didn’t not lose control of the vehicle and was able to get home safely by driving slowly avoiding traffic around me. Signal lights nor hazard lights worked either. The car would not turn off unless I pressed the brake at the same time with the ignition button several times. The hatchback would not open either prior to getting it towed directly to the nearest Honda dealership for inspection and repair.
Failure in all advanced driver systems at 7500 miles.
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: ProContact TX, Tire Size: 215/50/R17, DOT Number: [XXX] . While the contact's daughter was outside of the vehicle, she discovered a large bubble on the front driver’s side tire. The contact was notified of the failure and instructed her daughter to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced with the spare tire. The contact initially notified the tire manufacturer about the failure and was informed that the failure might be related to a vehicle defect and referred the contact to a Honda dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and declined responsibility for the failure. The manufacturer was called and referred the contact to an independent tire dealer that specializes in servicing Continental tires. The independent mechanic worked with the Continental manufacturer and offered the contact a replacement tire at 50% off. The tire was replaced. The tire and vehicle failure mileage were unknown. When no other vehicles ahead on straight road, decelerates randomly 15-20 mph. Happened at least 3 times on a 450 mile trip. Occasionally also will brake when car ahead change lanes in a different lane than I was driving.
Driver door window shattered while car was parked. No one was in the car when it happened, no injuries. Possibly heat related. Window was bowed out. Have multiple pictures of damage. Insurance says they will cover it. The dealer says not covered under car warranty. Seems to be a manufacturing defect if heat stress (temperature differential) can make a window burst.
braking system warnings and possibility of brake failure warning. Dealership thought it was sensor issue and replaced sensors but it happened again and I’m also experiencing a phenomenon referred to as “phantom braking” as my car will stop as if an object is directly in front of me while I’m driving, which has happened a few times on the interstate now and I’m afraid to drive. This is a serious safety risk for all involved.
have a faulty windshield that crack for no reason Because no rock or anything hit it

EPS system. Sticky steering. Popping noises from the rack and pinion when turning the steering wheel.
Steering is inconsistent, often having a “notchy” feeling when deviating from center. Maintaining a trajectory is difficult and stressful, particularly at higher speeds.
Car automatically stopped abruptly when a car in oncoming traffic turned a safe distance ahead of me. I was in the process of slowing down and was in no danger of being too close to the car in front of me. Nearly got rear ended.
at 2k miles, transmission broke down. car stopped at the middle of the road. transmission had to be replaced at the dealership
Steering wheel sticks when trying to slightly move it side to side, Honda dealership has told me 2 times that the steering rack and pinion recall does not apply to my vehicle. I work at a ford dealership and the foreman drove the car and agreed that there is something wrong with steering.
My Honda Civic's software for Apple CarPlay does not have an available update by Honda Corporation to allow functionality to use CarPlay Focus Driving settings to prevent receiving audio phone calls and ringing via the infotainment system speakers while driving and using apps such as Waze for navigation and/or iHeart radio for music. My safety while driving and the safety of others while I am driving is put at risk because while I am driving and using an app for music and/or navigation, my Honda Civic's infotainment system speakers may ring when my Apple iPhone receives a phone call from anyone, and this distracts my driving and may be unsafe. My Apple iPhone 14 has CarPlay Focus Driving software to allow me to prevent incoming phone calls while driving and connected to car Bluetooth or CarPlay. However, I cannot use this Focus Driving feature with my Honda Civic because Honda Corporation has not updated my Civic's infotainment system software to interface with my Apple iPhone 14 Focus Driving feature. I met my Honda dealership's service department staff, and they confirmed that there is no recall for my Honda Civic. They confirmed and showed me on my Civic's backup camera screen settings for Driving Focus that "Incoming calls will not be silenced while using CarPlay." I will upload this image/picture from my backup camera screen as a file for this discussion. The need for Honda Corporation to update their car infotainment system software to allow safety while driving is not unique to my 2024 Honda Civic.
We were driving to northern Minnesota on the freeway. There were no vehicles in front of mine in either lane. The automatic braking system engaged and the vehicle almost came to a stop on the freeway before it disengaged. Approximately 1 hour later it happened again. If there had been a vehicle behind us in either instance there would have been a serious problem. Today pulling into the garage the same thing happened as I was halfway to parking. I am going to disable the feature.
my rear windshield cracked entirely on its own. it was parked outside of my house. in the pictures you can tell it’s cracked all around.
Vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) was traveling on interstate highway in moderate traffic in right lane while traveling around a slight curve traveling at 60 mph. Vehicle 2 traveling in left lane merged to right lane with approximately 2 car lanes of spacing in from of vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle). I lifted off accelerate in vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) to slow down and Honda Sensing Collison Mitigation Braking System abruptly apply very hard braking resulting in vehicle 1(complaint vehicle) nosing driving and straightened the steering on the curve. The braking and steering straightening resulted in vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) crossing the lane line into the left lane by approximately 2 feet before the vehicle could be recovered and a speed reduction by 15-20 MPH. No vehicles were in left lane next to vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) at the time of incident or behind vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) to have resulted in a collusion. If vehicles were either behind or in the lane at the time of the incident the Honda Sensing Collison Mitigation Braking System actions would have directly resulted in a collision from its intervention. Contacted Honda and reported incident and inquired how to disable the system permanently and was told the Honda representative that they would pass along the information to "engineering" and the system can only be disabled for each drive and would turn on each time the ignition cycled. I then inquired if anybody would be reaching out to correct the issue and was informed that nobody would reaching out to me about the issue. I expressed the safety issues and was informed other than notifying engineering nothing would be addressed for me.
Paint chips easily for no reason. Car was purchased in Jan 15th of 2024. First occurrence was 3/23/24 and have more chips since then.
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, and the cruise control activated, the brakes were inadvertently applied causing the vehicle to slow down. The contact disengaged the cruise control feature. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was not able to be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 650.
The steering on my car is sticky/notchy feeling. I took my car in for the steering rack recall and it was not on the list. This is a different issue but my steering feels extra sticky and hard to turn. My car is getting repaired under warranty now but I have to wait 5+ months for parts.
The car is constantly taking control while driving, I have the car for less than an hour brought it back to the dealership. The auto start and stereo was completely malfunctioning. Two days later after not driving for one brought it back and steering shaking and taking over and radio and power shut off. Had the car less than five days and in a second loaner car.
November 2023 - Present January 2024 - Current mileage 4900k Starting at roughly 3,000 - 4,000 miles, while going 55mph - 65mph and after driving for about half an hour / 30 minutes, the steering become sticky and no longer has a smooth operation or freely steering. The steering wheel slightly sticks to the left for a sec then releases creating a slight jerk motion to the opposite side. It has become quite dangerous to drive in any condition. So far the dealership has not found a way to duplicate the issue and can't seem to help. We have mentioned this issues to the dealership multiple times and dropped the car off with no luck of a fix. It has not been a great experience as we purchased new for my wife to commute to work and it's been nothing but a headache and dangerous for continue driving.
I am experiencing sticky steering. When driving the steering seems to get stuck until I forcefully move the wheel to overcome the steering resistance.
