Sunroof exploded while driving with glass being thrown on my wife's head
As I'm turning at curve the steering locks up and sticks and I have to use a both hands to stay in my lane. You can easily hit a car turning the curve next to you when the steering locks up. I took it to dealer and they knew about having these issues from other CR-V and they said it's the steering rack. pinion. No lights or warning turn on when this happens. Other honda owners on reddit were having the same issues. It's where I found out I can put a complaint so this issue can be reviewed.
When turning on a curve the steering locks up/sticks for about 2 or 3 seconds and then it unlocks. When it locks up I could unlock it by using a bit of force to unlock/unstick it before it does by itself. I took to dealer and they say I need the whole steering rack. I have done research on this issue and I saw lots of 2023 crv owners are reporting the same issues. There is a recall to replace steering spring and to lubricate. But this recall issue is affecting cr-v whole rack and it should be in the recall. Honda did not make the steering properly and its causing many steering issues. There should be a recall on all steering issues. I currently have to drive my car with this issue because I don't have $4k for a new rack which is what they told me at dealer it cost. My crv is less than 2 years old and I should not be experiencing a issue like this and operating this vehicle which is not safe because Honda did not manufacture steering components correctly.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at various speed, the horn independently activated without the steering wheel center touch pad depressed. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where an air bag error code was cleared. The contact was unsure if the air bag was replaced. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact was advised that there was no fault found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal gasoline odor inside the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V763000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.
My car steering well gets randomly stuck for seconds at a time, Honda has failed to comply and help us get the steering wheel recall done since October 2024 and now February 2025. They keep saying we are on the list and they will send us a letter home or to keep waiting 12-15 days but there is no real help from Honda.
While driving the vehicle there’s a wobbling sound on the front. Morgan Hill Dealer said I have to replace 4 tires. The vehicle has less than 20k miles driven. Also it feels like the steering wheels gets sticky at times. The noise is getting worst. Please help?
Driver side mirror vibrate while driving, causing a distorted view and dizziness
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Available for inspection. The automatic braking is malfunctioning, we turned off the crash detention breaking as the CR-V would suddenly break without notice. Despite this being turned off, the vehicle will still break. It often happens when driving any speed over 25 mph. No vehicles in front or the side and the vehicle will simply break. No warning lights will appear (unlike with the crash detection turned on). It comes in suddenly and goes away suddenly. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Mostly the risk of being rear ended. Fortunately no one has been immediately behind us. If there was, we would be in many accidents. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, it cannot be reproduced. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, we are taking it in to have it looked at again for this issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights, messages, or other symptoms. It only happens (so far) when the vehicle is on cruise control. It will I just break for no reason. The normal dinging sound you hear when it trying to prevent a crash also doesn’t appear or sound. It just breaks.

Dealer Coggin Honda in Orlando, Florida unable to repair recall 24V-744. Honda has not provided the dealer the parts necessary to perform the repair. No timeline provided.
Subject: Complaint Regarding Failure to Perform Recall Repair on Honda CR-V Hybrid Issue Description: On [XXX], I purchased a Honda CR-V Hybrid on credit from a dealership in Weston, Florida. In November 2024, I was informed that my vehicle was included in a Honda recall campaign due to a defect affecting its safe operation. I repeatedly contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, but they informed me that the necessary replacement parts were not available. They promised to call me once the parts arrived, but from November 2024 to March 2025 (more than 4 months), I have not been given the opportunity to schedule the repair. As of today, the dealership has failed to take any action to remedy the defect, which violates my rights and poses a safety risk to the operation of my vehicle. Request for Action: I request that the NHTSA: Investigate this matter and require the dealership to perform the necessary repairs within a reasonable timeframe. Clarify my rights in this situation, including whether I am entitled to a vehicle replacement or a loaner car while waiting for the repair. I urge you to take action, as operating a vehicle with defective parts may present a safety hazard. At least two times I can recall after starting vehicle and shifting into reverse the car moved forward instead of reverse. I applied the brake and tried again, but the same thing happened. At that point I shifted into park, turned the vehicle off, and restarted it. After doing this and shifting into reverse the vehicle backed up normally. Fortunately I did not hit anything. Additionally another incident occurred where I was changing lanes to make a left turn at approximately 40 MPH the steering became very heavy and I was briefly unable to steer to change direction. While in the turning lane and unable to turn, I placed the vehicle in park, shut off the vehicle and restarted it. This cured the problem and I was able to proceed.
Noisy rough ride that was attributed to uneven tire wear on all 4 tires, called "cupping". Safety: Online research of major tire brands and NHTSA state that continuing to drive on cupped tires can be hazardous due to lost of traction, especially in emergency situation. The dealer, a private mechanic and a tire outlet all confirmed that the tires have uneven wear called "cupping". The dealer's service manager and mechanic foreman and a private mechanic all inspected the tires and confirmed the uneven wear. The first symptom was a wump-wump noise and vibration when driving slow, slowing down or making a turn. Problem first appeared around 11,000 miles. Now the problem appears worse. In that the initial noise and vibration is worse and now there is a chattering sound and vibration in highway drive. Plus an occasional "shimmy sensation" when a bump or rough patch in the road is gone over. New development. Since the onset of this problem. Honda has come out with a recall notice regarding an issue with their steering gearbox worm wheel for the car model involved. A Technical service bulletin was issued on the steering problem, with a note that this problem can lead to uneven tire wear. Despite this warning, the service manager for the dealer is insisting that it is safe to drive on cupped tires. I have since taken my car into the dealer to have the recall issue addressed. But again the service manager is insisting that driving on cupped tires is safe. I think this is a potentially danger situation where customers are being told by the Honda dealer that it is safe to continue to drive on cupped tires. I think that the NHTSA needs to require Honda corporation to order all Honda dealers to cover any uneven tire wear from the faulty steering gearbox defect. I just ordered a set of new tires for my safety at a cost of about $1000. Please help.

Hi, I have received 2 safety recall notices against my Honda 2023 CR-V on 3rd October & 14th October. One was for the Steering gearbox worm wheel & Other was for the improper production of the high pressure fuel pump. Since then I have visited & contacted Honda Carland Roswell numerous times but everytime I get the answer the parts are not available. It's been 2 months & they can't guarantee the availability also. When pressed further their only response is contact Honda. Is there any regulations where once the safety recall is issued it should be completed immediately. Being a regulator NHTSA should look into my complaint. Regards [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It has been more than 2 months since recall from Honda for my car triggered, I called my Honda car dealer from where i purchased my car last year, i called them couple of times to get these two recall fixed but they are not responding to schedule an appointment and even not have inspected vehicle for the recall defect. I am not sure about how safe is my car to drive with these recall defect. There are two recall, one related to fuel pump and second one related to gear box greasing, i request your intervention to help me with Honda service dealer. thank you
I am concerned because Honda has notified me of two potential recalls on my vehicle, but I have not been able to have my car inspected to determine if it's affected. Additionally, the parts needed for the recall repairs are unavailable. I was informed several months ago, but there has been no clear timeline for when the parts will be available or when my car can be checked.
All the warning comes on the dashboard randomly. I took it to the service, they said they reset the system. However, today, my daughter was driving to her school. Again, all the warning lights came on and the car braked itself. This is a very dangerous as my daughter is a new driver. I made another appointment with the service department. Please do something,
When attempting to turn left the steering began having some resistance. Initially it felt like a minor problem but then at higher speeds, like taking left hand curves on the freeway at 45 miles an hour, the car started abruptly jerking to the right. I had to fight the steering to try to keep the car in my lane but it slightly went into the right lane momentarily. I got off the freeway at the next exit and drove slowly on surface streets to get home. The next morning I took the car in to the Honda service department to address this issue. I was told the steering unit needed to be replaced but the parts were unavailable. After several days I have yet to find out how long until parts can be delivered. There were no warning signals or messages from the car prior to this issue. The car is presently at the Honda service department. It will remain there until it can be repaired and is safe to drive again. It should be available for inspection through Showcase Honda Service at 1333 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
The vehicle steering sticks and resists driver input. Safety is a concern as any steering malfunction or problem could be catastrophic. The dealership service department has verified the problem. There are no other indicators of any problems.
Took our 2023 CRV Hybrid in because the steering was sticking at 45 miles an hour, was told the steering rack needs replaced and is in back order for months and they have 4 ahead of us and just replaced 6 that were on back order for 4 months I think they said. Other consumers have reported waiting up to 8 months! people are driving their vehicles when others have reported their steering froze up on the freeway!! I am reporting so a recall can be established before if not already deaths occur. Our dealer has a warranty established to lease us a vehicle holding ours until the part comes in. I still have to pay the payment but at least the road will be safe.
On my 2023 Honda crv sport the steering wheel sticks, you have to constantly be correcting it. it is annoying and one could easily over compensate causing an accident.
Steering is sticky causing over corrections when driving
Steering sticks when going over any sort of lane departure. This is dangerous when exiting a tight offramp or coming on a tight onramp. Once the sterring wheel sticks it takes a second or two to unstick causing some near crashes for sure. Not able to get the car to replacte with a local honda dealer went back and took the foreman for a ride and still was not able to replicate it either.
Rear tires completely bald after 3,000+/- miles. Toe setting was so bad that I was basically dragging the tires down the road. After replacing tires and new alignment done by Honda I had 3 different shops check alignment, they all showed wheels out of alignment and all with different values. After spending nearly 3 hours with Hunter (alignment equip mfr), the rep. said their standard alignment equipment will not work with the wheels but has not provided any resolution. Not knowing the wheels were bald I drove from Bonaire, GA to Jupiter, FL at 70 MPH and sometimes in the rain - Lucky to be alive. I'm concerned for everyone else who owns this vehicle with the wheels. You have no way to know if your vehicle is properly aligned and what happened to me could happen to anyone.
Steering is exhibiting the twitching and pulling complained about by other owners.
Accelerated on its own almost causing me to crash into car in front of me
Vehicle started exhibiting a sticking of the power steering. Dealer drove the vehicle and confirmed the problem existed. A replacement power steering rack was ordered on 2/13 24. A phone call was made on 4/18/24 to check on the status. I was told September is the earliest expected date for the parts. This type of delay is unacceptable.
Filed complaint recently. Talked to dealer and was told that 184 of these Power Steering units are on Back Order with NO ESIMATED DELIVERY DATE. This is criminal. Honda says the problem as an inconvenience and will not lockup the steering. I would not like to be the first one that happens too. THIS NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED TO A RECALL.
On 1/6/24 I started my 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport (5,500 miles) and every warning light on the dashboard (brakes, tires, check engine) was on. The error messages displayed said "emissions system problem, avoid heavy acceleration & high speed". It repeated this message for the power brakes, power steering, ABS, hybrid system, and all of the ADAS systems. Took to the dealer and they reset the codes and it drove normally. Problem re-occurred on 1/8/24, same symptoms. Dealer stated the wire harness for the radar camera needed to be replaced, it was replaced under warranty. The issue repeated on 1/19/24 however when I began to drive to the dealership, the car completely stalled while I was in heavy traffic on the highway, losing acceleration, power braking and power steering and forced me to coast and pull over. I was able to restart the car and use limp mode to the dealer. They stated the electronic throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. This part is backordered and I am still waiting on a replacement part. Online research shows this happening to others without any resolution from the dealer. I feel like this is a dangerous safety issue due to me losing power in heavy highway traffic and a recall needs to be created.
Steering momentarily locks up and requires higher effort. Dealer says known defect and the electric power steering gearbox is bad.
Unknown. Per insurance company my car was deemed to be a manufacturing issue that caused and electrical fire while my vehicle was parked and turned off at work. Deemed a total loss. Fire seemed to start near the infotainment system and burned/melted the entire dash and consoles. Passenger airbag deployed and windshield shattered. Interior roof singed.
Steering wheel was jerking while I was driving. I took the car to the dealership where I was told the car would need a new steering rack. Some part of it was failing and that is why the steering wheel would move on it's own. I believe my safety was put at risk, because at any moment the steering rack would not work as it should and jerk, or potentially stop working, while I was driving. There were no warning messages given by the car. The issue started at around 9000 miles.
Germain Honda of Naples inspected the problem on [XXX]. Stated that the problem was a part in the electric power steering rack. The vehicle steering sticks when adjusting the vehicle direction to the left or right. Additional pressure must be applied to the steering wheel before the steering releases and the vehicle changes direction. Vehicle has approximately 3400 miles. A part has been ordered, but delivery is delayed until April, 2024 No warning/trouble lights appeared. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Steering is very sticky; when in curves or making turns it will get stuck and then unstick and cause you to over steer. Per dealer they could not replicate the issue and would not fix the issue even though they are aware there is an issue with the steering.
Sun roof was closed and exploded while driving 40mph. it could have splatered glass on any vehicle behind me.. Honda replaced the window and components . The repair cost $2205.35 which i had to pay to have my car released My insurance hasn't paid anything yet. The weather was clear and dry.50 deg. Road condition was 2 lane black top with no overhead obstructions such as trees or bridges. My speed was approx.40 mph.with no traffici in front of me and no on comming traffic.. Honda dealer took no blame for the car window and had no clue whay this happened., I feel that Honda is having glass problems and should own up to it by recall and pay for all damages.
I have experienced sticky steering with this vehicle. I took the vehicle to the dealership in early January to have it checked out. They told me a replacement part was needed however the part in question was on back order. The dealership has placed my part request on an expedited basis but I am being told that means early April. I understand you have an existing investigation into other Honda models for a similar problem so I wanted to add my vehicle to the list of Honda models having an issue
Steering effort increases at high speeds. Difference in effort can make driver to over steer or under steer.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 40 MPH, the steering wheel was pulling to the right and to the left independently. The contact's wife was able to continue driving. The message "Contact Dealership. Driver Assist Trying to Engage By Itself" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact it was a known failure; however, the parts were not available to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure and inquired about a rental assistance, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 6,500.
I noticed periodically over the span of a few weeks that when making left hand turns the steering would stick. Making me use slight more force to "unstick" it. I turned off lane assist and all other driving assist programs to help isolate the issue. Being a brand new car I wasn't sure it this was a new normal or not with all the new bells and whistles I have now. A few weeks later it was becoming more consistent. I noticed it gradually getting worse with the slightest left turn of the steering wheel. I made an appointment with the Honda Dealership where I purchased the vehicle from. At this appointment on 2/10/24 the sticking issue was duplicated by the technician and was discovered that I needed an electric power steering rack. I was told these parts were on back order as they have other new vehicles in the shop with the same issue. They could not provide an ETA for my parts. They sent me on my way in my vehicle. I feel my safety, any passengers as well as others on the road around me are at a safety risk. Say the steering rack seizes in the middle of the highway - that I drive daily. Anything is possible with a steering issue. Vehicle has only been inspected by Honda dealership service technicians. Occasionally when starting the car a would get a " Road departure mitigation problem. See Dealership" message. Message only populates when starting the vehicle. This to was said to be resolved by the Honda service technician on 2/10/24 with a electronic update.
