I AM 6'0". WHEN DRIVING MY HONDA S2000, MY LEFT TEMPLE IS LEVEL WITH AND ONLY A FEW INCHES FROM THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF FRAME. THIS IS A STEEL ROD STRUCTURE, WITH SHARP EDGES. ON TURNING INTO AND OUT OF MY DRIVE, I FREQUENTLY IMPACT MY LEFT TEMPLE ON THIS NONPADDED STRUCTURE. I CONTACTED HONDA THROUGH CONSUMER LINE AND THROUGH THE LOCAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP. WHILE I AM NOT AN ENGINEER, IT SEEMS THAT REPLACING THE SEATS WITH OTHERS THAT SIT THE DRIVER LOWER, OR SIMPLY LOWERING THE EXISTING SEAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT NHTSA INTERCESSION IS NECESSARY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION. I AM ANXIOUSLY AWAITING YOUR REPLY, AS THIS IS MY DAILY TRANSPORTTION. A SIDE IMPACT WOULD PROBABLY CAUSE FATALITY OR MAJOR BRAIN INJURY. I AM A NEUROLOGIST AND HAVE BEEN INJURED IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS PRODUCT FLAW AND NEEDS CORRECTION ASAP. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED MY LEGISLATOR, BUT AM CERTAINLY WILLING IF THAT WOULD HELP.
SMOKE WAS COMING FROM VENTS ON DASHBOARD DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. VEHICLE AT DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. PLEASE ADD FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED SUDDENLY AND THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT BY BRAKING. *YH
BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. WHEN APPLYING TO ONE, FOOT WILL ALSO APPLY THE OTHER. ALSO, CONSUMER HAS HAD FIVE (5) CLOSE CALLS DUE TO PEDALS BEING TOO CLOSE TOGETHER.*AK JG
LEFT FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A SPLITED IN THE SIDEWALL JUST BELOW THE TREAD, THE SPLIT IS APPROX 2-3INCHS LONG AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF HAVING HIT OR RUBBED AGAINST ANYTHING (TIRE SIZE 205/70R15.955,DOT#EMYTJMJ489, BRIDGESTONE DUELER).
ENGINE DIP STICK AND SLEEVE HAVE DISCONNECT ITSELF FROM THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING,.DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
DRIVESHAFT ON VEHICLE INSTEAD OF MAKING SMOOTH TURNS, IT MADE A POPPING NOISE, AND SOME OTHER TYPES OF LOUD NOISES. *AK
CLUNK IN THE DRIVETRAIN WHILE SHIFTING THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION
WHILE BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACE, FELT RIGHT REAR TIRE GO FLAT. NO SIGNS OF PUNCTURE ANYWHERE. NO GLASS, NO NAILS. TIRES WERE INFLATED AT 28PSI. NO EXTRA LOAD IN VEHICLE. HAD 3 PASSENGERS. 1 ADULT, 2 CHILDREN. 1 STROLLER IN REAR. VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 MONTHS NEW. ONLY 2200 MILES. TIRE IS COMPLETELY FLAT. LUCKILY DID NOT HAPPEN ON FREEWAY AT HIGHER SPEED. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 205/70R15 )
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES PER HOUR ON 9/7/00 2:25PM (APPROX). BLOW OUT OCCURRED, TOOK CONTROL OF THE CAR WHILE TRAVELING A BUSY FREEWAY. I MANAGED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT HITTING ANY OTHER CAR. I GOT OFF THE CAR, NOTICED THAT THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY OFF THE RIM, TIRE WAS HALF A MILE (APPROX) AWAY. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSITANCE, TIRE WAS CHANGED. PHOTOS WERE TAKEN OF THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND REMAINING PORTION OF THE TIRE ON THE RIM. I WAS TOLD (BY A FIRESTONE MANAGER) TO RETRIEVE THE TIRE ON THE FREEWAY, WHICH I HAVE IN MY POSSESION, TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT SINCE I WORK. I DID NOT DRIVE THE CRV TODAY, I DROVE MY OTHER CAR. I HAD MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON MY CAR ON 9/5/00 AND NO TIRE PROBLEMS WERE REPORTED. HAVE THERE BEEN ANY OTHER SIMILAR INCIDENCES OF THIS TYPE OF BLOWOUT TO THIS TIRE. WHAT CAN BE AND/OR WHAT SHOULD BE DONE IN THIS CASE? I AM EXPERIENCING SORENESS /ACHES IN MY NECK AND BACK. THE FRONT TIRES LOOSE TRACTION AND SPIN UPON GRADUAL ACCELERATION FROM A STOP WITH TWO OR THREE ATTEMPTS TO MOVE FORWARD ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS, THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE TIRES WERE REPLACED (BRIDGESTONE/FIRERSTONE DUELLER H/T P205/70 R 15 95S). NLM
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE UP AN INCLINE AND STOPPING WITH FOOT DEPRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND UPON RELEASING BRAKE PEDAL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO ROLL BACKWARDS. CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH AND AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACT. DEALER SAW LIGHT SIGN OF IMPACT WHICH CONSUMER EXPLAINED IT COULD HAVE COME FROM LIGHT ROAD DEBRIS THAT HIT UNDER THE BUMPER. DEALER JUST SAID TO CONTACT THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS ANY MALFUNCTION.*AK
DT: PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE JACK THAT WAS PROVIDED WAS NOT STABLE. JUST A SLIGHT MOVEMENT WILL CAUSE THE JACK TO FALL DOWN TO THE GROUND. LAST WEEKEND,THE TIRE WENT FLAT. WHEN THE CAR WAS JACKED UP IT FELL DOWN. AFTER THIS, THERE WAS A MECHANIC ACROSS THE STREET WHO WAS ABLE TO LIFT IT WITH A FLOOR JACK WHICH CAUSED MISALLIGNMENT OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE WHILE JACKING UP VEHICLE IT FELL DOWN ON THE OWNER. THE RIGHT HAND AND RIGHT KNEE WERE INJURED , AND HAD TO HAVE CORTISONE SHOTS. THERE WAS A VEHICLE REPAIR COST CAUSED BY THE FLOOR JACK, THERE WAS ABOUT $475 IN DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. OWNER HAS NOT CONTACTED HONDA.*AK
WHILE DRIVING BUMPER ASSEMBLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
MY HONDA CR-V WILL GO BACKWARDS WHEN IT'S ON PARKING POSITION. AND ALSO I CAN SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND TAKE OFF THE CAR KEY EVEN WHEN IT'S ON DRIVE POSITION. I THINK THOSE TWO PROBLEMS OCCUR SINCE I BOUGHT IT. *TR
DURING ACCELERATION FROM A STOP THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY GO INTO FIRST GEAR RESULTING IN A PERIOD OF TIME WHERE THE VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL IN THIS VEHICLE. NLM
WHEN USING SEATBELT AND CLIPPING INTO THE RECEPTICLE LOCK THE SEATBELT DOES NOT ACTUALLY LOCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE I AM DRIVING AND SEATBELT IS NOT LOCKED IN THE RECEPTICLE. ALTHOUGH I THOUGHT THE SEATBELT WAS SECURE IT WAS NOT BUT IT STAYED IN THE RECEPTICLE BUT DID NOT LOCK. I HAVE SCHEDULED TO HAVE THIS INSPECTED AFTER A PASSENGER NOTICED THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT TIRES (BRIDGESTONE 205/70 R15 95S ALL SEASON TIRES TRACTION RATING B) LOOSE TRACTION ON DAMP PAVEMENT AND SPIN UPON GRADUAL ACCELERATION FROM A STOP WITH TWO OR THREE ATTEMPTS NEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD, THE TRACTION PROBLEM MAY BE A COMBINATION OF TRACTION B TIRES AND THE HIGH ENGINE/TRANSMISSION TORQUE. VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN TOTAL LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, AND TWICE WHILE AT A STOP. COSNUMER MUST PULL OVER AND RESTART VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO PRIOR WARNING. DEALER HAS PUT VEHICLE UP TO COMPUTER, BUT COULD NOT DETECT CAUSE. THEREFORE, CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE.*AK
CONSUMER'S MOTHER IN-LAW WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 36 MPH WHEN VEHICLE WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH 12 MPH IMPACT , VEHICLE ROLLED OVER . AT IMPACT OF HITTING GROUND, LEFT A PILLAR COLLAPSED, HITTING DRIVER'S HEAD, AND CAUSING SERIOUS LACERATION TO HEAD WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO DRIVER'S DEATH, THEN, VEHICLE ROLLED ONE TIME IN THE AIR, HITTING VEHICLE #3. *AK *SLC
WHEN THE CONSUMER ACCELERATES FROM A STOP THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHIMMIES, THE DEALER STATED TO THE CONSUMER THAT ALL THE CRV'S DO THIS BECEAUSE THEY ARE BUILT ON A CIVIC FRAME. NLM
WHILE DRIVIING, VEHICLE HAD AN ACCIDENT, SEAT BELT AUTOMATICALLY DISENGAGED, THERE WERE INJURIES. VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN ROLL OVER, FLIPPED THREE TIMES. FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELTS UNLATCHED DURING EVENT. CW
WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED ON A HILL, BEFORE DRIVING OFF VEHICLE ROLLS BACKWARDS BEFORE GOING FORWARDS, A CHIP WITHIN THE ENGINE IS DESIGNED THAT NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE TO CORRECT OR IMPROVE THE PROBLEM.*AK *SLC
SRS LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED WHEN DRIVING. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE. *AK DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE FOUND SRS MODULE HAD FAILED. *TT
