The vehicle becomes a hazard due to faulty PCM/ECM software. The sudden loss of power and hesitation creates an unpredictable driving environment, leaving the driver and others vulnerable to T-bone collisions or rear-end accidents. This is a documented software glitch identified in Honda TSB 08-089 "MIL comes on with DTC P1009" yet the manufacturer refuses to provide the necessary software flash to rectify the safety hazard. The issue has been reproduced through live data logging. It is a persistent failure that occurs when the vehicle reaches operating temperature (188 degrees F) Timing advance will retard into the negatives, causing unpredictable hesitation, struggle with going up hills, and inappropriately retards when deaccelerating. Honda refuses to preform the software update despite a recent $3703 engine rebuild, citing the vehicles age as a reason to ignore the service warranty and known software defect.
Power door locks do not work and driver side door lock can't be push down at all and will not open when locked.
As I was driving home from work last week 04/22/25, I noticed a drop in the rear passenger side and an odd noise I had never heard before. I only live 3 blocks from work and I immediately pulled it in the garage and put it up on the jack. Once I removed my drivers side rear tire and got a closer look, I found that my drivers side rear trailing arm and the frame have rusted through and completely broke. My vehicle had just been inspected 5 months earlier with no issues and is parked in a dry garage at all times when not in use.
I have read of several air bag recalls. This car has an air bag light that comes on the dash.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda CR-V. The contact stated the vehicle had previously been repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V768000 (Visibility, Electrical System), and the power window switch on the driver’s side was replaced with a water-resistant switch. The contact stated while opening the front driver’s side door, the power window switch was wet from previous rainfall. In addition, the contact noticed after attempting to roll down the four windows, the power window switches failed to respond. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
I was driving in town so, each block has either a stop sign or a traffic light. I realized that my brake pad seemed to get spongy. At the red light as I was nervous that there was something wrong I looked down and seen a light blinking but, it was my oil light. After heading to the next block my brakes were suddenly not doing anything and the pedal went down to the floor. I was not going fast so I decided that if I had to I would pull the emergency brake. I did that as well to no avail. I went to the closest parking lot and checked all my fluid. My oil was fine, my brake fluid was low. I added brake fluid and went on my way. The following day I left my home as usual and another light came on. The oxygen sensor. I'm not sure why the vehicle is doing this as I do keep up with maintenance. I have spoken with a mechanic , his assessment was it could be anything yet seems to be electrical. I did some research do to the fact that my car has been with me since 2009 (used). I would love to keep my car for as many more years as possible but, I also have to be safe. At this point it has to be something wrong with the products I'm using on my vehicle.

Passenger rear trailing arm broke off from body mount. Vehicle is still available for inspection. Coming to a stop sign and car came to an abrupt stop. Something had stopped the car before I even got to the stop sign. Coming down to the stop sign car began to lost steering and swayed back and forth. Car is in very good condition has 138,100 miles on it. But now it can,t be driven cant be fixed and be safe. Still books for $3200.00. Our family was left vulnerable to a horrible accident if going any faster when this happened. Broke down on a back road at 10:30 p.m. close to a stop sign. Had to be towed. A recall of the 2007 to 2011 CR-V. stated that this happens to those models. They didn't go back far enough on this recall and if I hadn't told people who still have the 2005- 2006 model they wouldn't have known and this could happen to them. Vehicle was inspected by insurance co. and Honda dealership and reported to Honda corp. Rust no coverage or repair for this vehicle. Mechanic looked at can't repair and make safe. Same problem as those vehicles recalled. But because it wasn't on the recall list there is nothing they can do about this vehicle. This left me, my loved ones vulnerable to a serious accident if I had been on a freeway let alone on any road going 50 and above in speed. No warnings what so ever that this could happen. No messages, no lamps no letters from Honda nothing.

The contact arrived at the destination and discovered that the driver's side power window master switch was inoperable and melted. The contact stated that the failure was related to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V768000 (Visibility, Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 173,000.
Seat belt has slack in it and does not tighten up and the Airbag light on the dash comes on intermitently
The contact owns a 2005 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, she rear-ended a vehicle in front. The other vehicle's windshield shattered during the impact. Both vehicles were severely damaged. The air bags did not deploy. No one was injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not towed, but the contact was able to push the vehicle into a parking lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.
The Passenger side has water coming in from the windowshield (I think that's were it is from) when it rains to the point it completely soaks and sometimes makes a puddle on the floor of the passengers side. This causes mold and a horrrible smell.
There was no tell tail signs, my son and I got out of the vehicle and walked inside the Hampton Inn in deming nm standing in line waiting some lady runs in saying there's a car on fire outside so I walked outside and saw it was my car. A fire extinguisher was used the battery and driver side headlight was melted fire damage on driver side only
Approximately 2-3 months ago as I was driving I smelled a warm, buring electical smell coming from the left door. Immediately after this I had noticed my driver side lock, power mirror controls, would not work on the drivers side. After speaking with my mechanic I was told that this issue has a current safety bulletin opened for it. Today I took my car to Apple Honda of York to have the recall taken care of. The issues persisted and Honda refused to inspect the door wiring. The remedy of this solution was to be as follows: Remedy Please call any authorized Honda dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. The dealer will replace the power window master switch and INSPECT THE WIRING HARNESS FOR PROBLEMS, replacing it if necessary, for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Honda Customer Support and Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. This dealership only replaced the switch but did not inspect the wiring or wiring harness in detail for issues that certainly could have occurred due to this safety recall. I still wonder from time to time while driving if the wiring will short causing a fire and explained this to the Honda dealership. I have followed up with Honda of America to report this issue which is currently being investigated by a case worker. (Incident #: [XXX]) I believe the dealership was not interested in resolving my safety concerns regarding this matter. Body frame terrible
Driver's side window has never operated properly. I sent in the recall form from Honda about 1 year ago today, and heard nothing from them. NHTSA RECALL # 20V-768
TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE AC LOOKED AT WAS TOLD THE COMPRESSOR HAD WHAT THEY CALLED BLACK DEATH. I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPRESSOR HAD BLEW APART AND SENT SMALL PIECES OF METAL THROUGH THE AC SYSTEM. AND THE WHOLE COMPLETE SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED I HAVE READ ON A FEW SITES OF OTHER PEOPLES CRV DOING THE SAME THING. PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE.
My driver power window switch melted and failed in the same way described in the current recall for the same model and year vehicle, just not under the SHS vin numbers that are covered. I suspect this recall should cover more cars than previously thought. I noticed this problem after heavy rains, first my windows stopped rolling up and down, then I began noticed a burring/melting plastic smell coming from the drivers door. I took the door apart and tracked the smell down to the power master switch. After inspecting the switch, it was indeed the switch that melted on the circuit board. It seems to have damaged the driver wiring door harness as well, also like the current recall states. All just as described in the current safety recall which I have attached below. **Safety Recall: 2002-06 CR-V Driver’s Power Window Switch (Only VINs that start with SHS) ''under severe conditions, water or other liquid may enter the driver’s window and reach the power window master switch on the door panel. Liquid in the switch can damage the switch’s printed circuit board (PCB), causing the switch to fail. In rare cases, the damaged PCB creates a short circuit that overheats the switch connectors and melts them, leading to a possible fire.'' All affected vehicles, even those previously repaired under S/B 12-067, must have the driver's power window switch replaced under the current recall.
Y 2005 CRV SE driver window stops after rolling halfway up. I have to press window button a 2nd time. The driver window will roll down on it's own. Some 2005-2007 crV were recalled because this problem can start a fire.
Slowed down to turn left into a driveway. As I turned, the car accelerated and the engine RPM crossed 5000. Had the brakes depressed but the vehicle accelerated and crashed into the garage door. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or an independent service center. The smog check was performed at a test center less than a month ago and passed. Engine light came on intermittently a couple times between the smog test and the day of the crash.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER BRYAN HONDA (4104 RAEFORD RD, FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28304, (910) 483-1234) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V768000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY) BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG ERRONEOUSLY DEPLOYED. DURING THE DEPLOYMENT, THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WONT GO DOWN INTERMITTENTLY WHICH I CONSIDER A DANGER AS WE HAVE A BRIDGE THAT CARS HAVE BEEN SHOVED OFF INTO THE WATER AND IT SCARES ME THAT IT COULD HAPPEN TO ME AND I WOULD NEED THAT WINDOW TO GO DOWN SO I CAN ESCAPE BEFORE THAT WINDOW FAILS OR THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILS. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK IT MULTIPLE TIMES BUT OF COURSE IT WONT DO IT WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR IS ALMOST ALWAYS STATIONARY WHEN THE WINDOW WONT GO DOWN. IT HAPPENS AT THE ATM AND OTHER DRIVE THRUS. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 20V768 BUT SO FAR MY CAR ISN'T LISTED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS.
HAVE LOST POWER TO BOTH LOW BEAM LIGHTS CONSECUTIVELY AND RANDOMLY EVERY MONTH OVER THE PAST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE REPLACED HEADLIGHTS MULTIPLE TIMES AND LOST LOW BEAMS ESPECIALLY ON DRIVERS SIDE DURING COMMUTE AT NIGHT ON THE FREEWAY.
THE BULBS IN MY LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONTINUALLY BURN OUT WHILE IN MOTION, USUALLY ON A RURAL HIGHWAY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY ON DARK COUNTRY ROADS. TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA, I AM HAVING TO REPLACE THE BULBS 3-4 TIMES PER YEAR ON EACH HEADLIGHT. FROM A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH, I CAN SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR MANY, MANY HONDA CRV OWNERS. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE 2002-2004 MODELS (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V136000) - WILL YOU PLEASE EXPAND THIS RECALL TO INCLUDE THE 2005? IF BOTH HEADLIGHTS GO DARK AT THE SAME TIME, IT WILL PROBABLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WITH THIS HAPPENING SO OFTEN ON THE 2005, THE LIKELIHOOD OF AN ACCIDENT INCREASES. PLEASE HELP. (THE LATEST DATE OF 12/1/2020 WHEN MY LIGHT BURNED OUT IS IN THE FIELD BELOW, BUT IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES THIS YEAR.)

2005 HONDA CRV. CONSUMER WRITES SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE REPAIR RELATED TO SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER CHARGED TO HAVE THE WINDOW REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONSUMER DECLINED A SECOND REPAIR. *JS *JS *JS
BOUGHT VEHICLE IN AUGUST, USED WITH 136,000 MILES. THE FIRST WEEK, THE A/C COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. THE 2ND WEEK, THE CONDENSER. 2 WEEKS LATER THE CAR STALLED OUT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, VSA AND WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO GET IT RESTARTED AND IT WAS THROWING 4 CODES. P1009 61-1 62-1 83-1. TOOK IT IN UNDER DEALER WARRANTY. THE CHANGED THE O2 SENSORS AND GAVE IT BACK. 2 WEEKS LATER, SAME THING ONLY NOW IT WAS BURNING OIL AND GAS AND RUNNING REALLY RICH. THE OIL SMELLS LIKE GAS EVEN. THEY DID A WHOLE ENGINE SWAP AND A NEW STARTER, AMONG OTHER THINGS. AND 2 WEEKS LATER IT STALLED OUT AGAIN. AND THE CRANK SHAFT AND VTEC SOLENOID NEEDED REPLACED. AS WELL AS THE STARTER. 9 TIMES I'VE HAD IT AND NOW AFTER THE SAME BURNING THROUGH OIL AND GAS ISSUES IT'S STARTED SMOKING AND MAKING A GRINDING SOUND WHILE IDLING.

AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $165 IN ORDER TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED NOR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 231,000. *JS
LOW BEAMS STOPPED WORKING WHILE PARKED THANKFULLY. I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH, THINKING THAT IT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE, AND NOTICED THAT A TERMINAL IN THE CONNECTOR WAS BURNT SO BAD THAT IT CARRIED OTHER TERMINALS, CAUSING THE HIGH BEAMS TO STOP WORKING AS WELL. ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHER CARS OF THE SAME MODEL AND IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP WAS REPLACED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
THE RUNNING LIGHTS & LOW BEAM LIGHTS FAIL REPEATEDLY. RUNNING, STANDING OR START UP; IT DOESN'T MATTER. THE BULBS BURN OUT. BOTH LIGHTS USE THE SAME HALOGEN BULB. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM COVERED IN YOUR HONDA CR-V RECALL # 12V13600 (HONDA # S34) AFFECTING THE 2002,'03 AND 2004 MODEL YEARS. MODEL YEARS 2005 AND POSSIBLY BEYOND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED.
AC COMPRESSOR / CONDENSER ORIGINALLY WENT BAD SUMMER 2017 AND WAS REPLACED. WORKED FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON INTO START OF NEXT SEASON. SUMMER 2018 WENT BAD AGAIN AND MECHANIC REPLACED IT AGAIN, STATING POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE PART. WORKED AGAIN FOR REMAINDER OF 2018 SEASON. BEGINNING/MID 2019 CAR HEAT / DEFROST STARTED TO WORK IMPROPERLY, NOT DEFROST, CAUSED ENGINE TO MAKE STRESSING NOISE BUT NOISE WOULD STOP IF I TURNED OFF SYSTEM (AC/HEAT/DEFROST). JUNE 2019 ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE SAME STRESSING NOISE EVEN WHEN AC SYSTEM WASN'T ON. FINALLY, MONDAY, 7/8/2019 WHILE DRIVING TO A CAR RENTAL PLACE, MY 2005 HONDA CR-V SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AT LEAST 5-6 TIMES TIL IT FINALLY BEGAN SMOKING FROM THE ENGINE AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER AND GET IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. I AM TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT IT IS YET AGAIN THE AC SYSTEM. THE IS NOW THE 3RD TIME I AM BEING FACED WITH HAVING TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT IN THE CAR'S AC/HEAT/DEFROST SYSTEM, EACH TIME AT AN EXPENSE RANGING FROM $800.00 - $1,700.00. NOW I AM WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FACING ANOTHER COSTLY REPAIR BILL AND HAVING TO SPEND MONEY ON A RENTAL VEHICLE WHILE WAITING TO FIND OUT HOW TO PROCEED WITH MY HONDA CR-V. MY MECHANIC HAS ALSO INFORMED THAT OVER THE LAST NINE MONTHS OR SO, THEY HAVE SEEN AT LEAST 6-7 OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH HONDA CR-VS, COME IN WITH THE SAME RECURRING PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF IT'S OCCURRING TO MORE AND MORE HONDA CR-V OWNERS. AS A SIDE NOTE, MY HONDA CR-V ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 147,000 MILES ON IT.
WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT AND BOTH LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT AND REMAINED OUT. HAD TO STOP TO PREVENT CRASH. DRIVER COULD NOT SEE. VERY DANGEROUS! HIGH BEAMS WORKING BUT DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL LATER. READ THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY HONDAS AND A TSB ISSUED FOR OTHER MODELS, BUT NOT THIS ONE. THIS MODEL AND YEAR NEEDS A TSB AS WELL. READ THAT OTHERS WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NO TSB FOR IT.

WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, ANOTHER VEHICLE CROSSED THREE LANES AND CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE QUARTER PANEL OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. TOLD BY HONDA DEALER THAT THIS IS DUE TO SEATBELT PART THAT IS FAULTY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. IS THIS PART OF A RECALL? I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2017 AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT RECALLS HAVE BEEN MISSED.
EVERY FEW MONTHS THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOES OUT. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE 2011, AND IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE THE ENTIRE TIME. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF HEADLIGHTS ARE USED CONTINUOUSLY OR FOR JUST AN HOUR A DAY ON THE HIGHWAY AND INTERSTATE, HAVE HAD MULTIPLE WARNINGS FROM AREA POLICE. SAME THING HAPPENS THAT THE DRIVER SIDE BULB BLOWS. PASSENGER SIDE HAS ONLY NEEDED REPLACED A FEW TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. WHY ISN'T THIS ISSUE ON A RECALL LIKE THE 2002-2004 MODELS, THEY HAD THE SAME ISSUE BUT WITH A RECALL..
I'VE OWN THIS VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE EVER SINCE I OWN THIS VEHICLE. I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE LOW BEAM LIGHT BULBS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THEY SEEM TO GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE WITH ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT (LOW BEAM) ESPECIALLY THERE IS NO STREET LIGHTS AND ALSO FOR ONCOMING DRIVERS IF I USE THE HIGH BEAM TO DRIVE. THERE IS A SAME PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL - YEARS 2002 ' 2004 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V136000). PLEASE EXPAND THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MODEL YEAR 2005 AS WELL BEFORE SOMEONE GET INJURED.
HEADLIGHT RECALL. I AM AWARE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME HEADLIGHT RECALLS ON PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS OF HONDA CRV. I HAVE A 2005. THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS BURN OUT AND/OR FAIL VERY FREQUENTLY. I HAVE OWNED THE CRV FOR MAYBE 5 YEARS AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BULBS 4 TO 5 TIMES. NOW THE RIGHT HEADLAMP WILL NOT WORK EVEN WITH A BRAND NEW BULB. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE HEADLIGHTS COULD FAIL WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT. THE DATE ENTERED BELOW IS JUST THE MOST RECENT FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL CAR WAS STARTED IN PARKING LOT AT MECHANIC FOR A MISFIRING SPARK PLUGS. MECHANIC PLACED NEW SPARK PLUGS AND A MISSING COIL AND CAR STARTED RIGHT UP. CAR WAS STATIONARY IN LIE TO BE PULLED INTO THE BAY BY MECHANIC WENT INTO HIS OFFICE WHICH WAS ABOUT 75 FEET AWAY THEN HEARD AN EXPLOSION. UPON GOING OUT TO MY VECHILE HE NOTICED THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND HAD EXPLODED FOR NO REASON. THE SIDE CURTAIN AND SEAT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. CAR STILL RUNNING WAS NOT OVERHEATED NOR DID ANYONE WASVIN THE CAR. INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 11/05/2918 WAS REPORTED TO OWNER AUTO INSURANCE AS AN UNEXPLAINED LOSS AND REPORTED TO THE HONDA MANUFACTURE AS ON ISSUE AND A CLAIM NUMBER WAS ASSIGNED FROM BOTH INSURANCE COMPANY AND HONDA MANUFACTURER A CLAIM EXAMINER AUDITED THE VECHILE FOR LOSS AND HONDA MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WOULD PAY FOR A DIAGNOSIS IF IT WOULD BE BROUGHT TO A HONDA DEALER. CAR WAS DRIVEN TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND A SPECIALIZED NO READING COULD BE CONCLUDED AS THE SRS WAS FRIED HONDA THE ESTIMATE INCLUDES SRS UNIT, SEAT SENSORS, CURTAIN AIRBAG, DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY, LABOR IS $1,082.00 AND PARTS ARE $3,172.87 TOTAL $4,254.87 FOR TOTAL REPAIRS. I AM WAITING ON MY HONDA DPSM REP TO GIVE ME FEEDBACK. INSURANCE COMPANY ASKED FOR A FORENSIC MECHANIC TO EVALUATED OR GET TO ROOT CAUSE OF AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODING THROUGH BLACK BOX AS HONDA DID NOT INCLUDE BLACK BOX TILL THE 2012 MODELS THIS VECHILE IS A 2005 MODEL HENCE DID NOT HAVE A BLACK BOX AND NO DETERMINATION WAS DETERMINED FOR ROOT CAUSE. THE VECHILE BEING A 2005 13 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAD A TOTAL OF 143,850 MILES, BODY AND INTERIOR LEARHER SEARS WERE IN IDEAL CONDITION. CAR SHOULD HAVE LASTED AT LEAST ANOTHER 100,000 MILES CAR WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS AND CAR WAS SCRAPED. FACT WAS IF I OR ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE CAR IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN FATAL ACCIDENT.
THIS VEHICLE ON HAS 66,580 MILE AND THE ABS MODULATOR WENT BAS ON REAR PASSENGER SIDE. NOTICE BRAKE WAS NOT WORKING AND TOOK TO SHOP.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE FAILED WHILE THE HIGH BEAMS CONTINUE TO WORK. THIS SAME FAILURE IN OTHER HONDA MODELS MERITED A SAFETY RECALL. PLEASE SEE HONDA SERVICE BULLETINS 12-056 AND 04-15. THE 2005 CR-V HAS THE SAME PART, FAILURE, AND REPAIR PROCEDURE FOR THE LIGHT SWITCH WIRE HARNESS LOCATED IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I FEEL A SAFETY RECALL SHOULD APPLY TO MY VEHICLE, SINCE IT IS THE SAME FAILURE, SAME PART TO REPLACE AND SAME DANGER. THIS IS A WIDELY REPORTED ISSUE ON THE HONDA SERVICE BOARDS.
THE A/C STOPPED WORKING IN MY 05 HONDA CRV. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO SAID THAT MY A/C COMPRESSOR BLEW UP. SOMETHING HE CALLED. BLACK DEATH. THE COST TO REPAIR THIS WOULD JUST ABOUT EXCEED THE SALE PRICE OF MY CAR. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE FOR HONDA CRV A/C SYSTEMS. I CANNOT FIND A RECALL HOWEVER WHERE HONDA HAS ACCEPTED THE BLAME AND AGREED TO PUT OUT A RECALL AND FIX IT FOR THOSE OF US DEALING WITH THIS. CAN YOU TELL ME IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT MAY BE LOOKED AT BY THOSE THAT MONITOR RECALLS, AND IF SO ARE THERE ANY PLANS TO START A CAMPAIGN OR RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE? THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
TAKATA RECALL. I TOOK MY HONDA CRV TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED DUE TO THE RECALL. NOW MY AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM FIX THE ISSUE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS UNRELATED. THEY SAID THE COMPRESSOR LOCKED UP. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING UNTIL AFTER I TOOK IT IN. TOO COINCIDENTAL. AFTER DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH IT APEARS MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN WHICH HONDA DOES NOT COVER THE COST. PEOPLE ARE PAYING ROUGHLY $1000 TO REPLACE THEIR COMPRESSORS. I AM SUBMITTING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THIS IS NOT RIGHT. I HOPE I AM NOT DEALING WITH A CORRUPT ORGANIZATION.
ELECTRICAL FIRE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT, WIRING HARNESS MELTED AND CAUGHT FIRE, BATTERY MELTED. DRIVING ABOUT 35MPH, STARTED TO SMELL SMOKE AND THE VEHICLE ENGINE CUT OUT. ROLLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CALLED FOR HELP AND NOTICED THE SMOKE GETTING WORSE AND THEN SEEN THE FLAMES. EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WITH THE HELP OF BYSTANDERS AND RESIDENTS LIVING NEAR BY
MY HEADLIGHT BULBS BURN-OUT AFTER ONLY 4-6 WEEKS. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. THE SHORT-BULB-LIFE EVENT OCCURS ABOUT 70% ON THE DRIVER SIDE, AND ABOUT 30% ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE IS NO SIGN OF MOISTURE ENTERING THE BULB/LIGHT AREA. THIS IS A CONSTANT SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME SINCE THE PROBLEM MEANS I AM OFTEN DRIVING WITH ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT. THIS PROBLEM IS ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE-- APPROXIMATELY 12-15 NEW BULBS PER YEAR ! THE BULBS BURN OUT WHEN DRIVING ON ROADS OF ALL TYPES. ON THIS FORM BELOW, WHERE "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?" IS REQUESTED, I HAVE ENTERED THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE (BULB BURNED OUT AFTER ONLY 5 WEEKS OF LIFE) ALTHOUGH AS STATED ABOVE,THIS EVENT HAS BEEN HAPPENING REGULARLY FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS.

IT STARTED OFF AS A GOOD CAR BUT ONCE I CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL EVERYTHING SEEM TO MALFUNCTION AND GO DOWN LIKE DOMINOES CAR HAS FAILED TO START SEVERAL TIMES HAS SHUT OFF WITHOUT NOTICE
THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW SWITCH HAS FAILED AND WINDOW WILL NOT OPEN.
HAD TO REPLACE ENGINE MOUNT2X , SUSPENSION, ' CONTROL FOR WINDOW ON DRIVERS SIDE HALF WORKS. . FOR NO REASON DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SOME HOW FELL OUT OF THE SUPPORT OR GUIDING TRACK AND AND BROKE INSIDE THE DOOR PROBLEM NOW 3/17/18 FOR 5 MONTHS TGE WINDOW CONTROL ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOESN'T ROLL UP THE WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE YOU CAN KIND PUT IT DOWN . THEN LAST NIGHT TGE WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FALL OUT OF THE TRACK AND BREAKS INSIDE THE DOOR. SO NOW WE CAN NOT REALLY SAFE LICK THE CAR, LEAVING IT OPEN !! WITH POSSIBLE RAIN. ' HEADLIGHT CABLE- HEAD LIGHT BULB KEEPS BURNING OUT . ' ENGINE MOUNTS
