REAR DRIVER DOOR COMES UNLOCKED WHEN DRIVING OR WHEN PARKED. WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. *TR
HELLO. STARTING IN APRIL 2014, WHEN EVER I WOULD DRIVE MY CAR THE LOCKS WOUD BEGIN UNLOCKING AND RELOCKING CREATING A SAFETY ISSUE. THE ISSUE PROGRESSIVELY DETERIORATED UNTIL I WENT TO MY LOCAL BROWNS CITY HONDA WITH THE ISSUE RESULTING IN MY PAYING A $377.42 INVOICE TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR/DOOR LOK IN MY 2007 HONDA CRV. FURTHER MOORE, IT WAS ONLY IN THE LAST VISIT TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER, WHERE I MADE PURCHAES THIS CAR AND A PREVIOULSY PURCHASED NEW 2010 HONDA CIVIC, AT BROWNS CITY HODA, IN GLEN BURNIE, MD 21061, THAT A SERVICE HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TECH ADVISED MY OD A RECALL ON THE ACTUATOR DOOR LOCK. TODAY AND ALSO ON JUNE 6, 2015 I CALLED HONDA FOR ASSISTANCE WITH DOWNLOADING THE FORM FOR A REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST, AND THE HONDA REP DECLINED ASSIST TO FIND THE FORM THEN SAID THAT RECALL REIMBURSEMENT EXPIRED ON JULY 6, 2015, FOUR DAYS AGO. NOT ONCE IN THE PREVIOUS CONVERSATOPN WITH A HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WAS SUCH MENTIONED. TO FURTHER ADD INJURY TO INSULT, THE HONDA REP STATED THAT HONDA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE. PLEASE ADVISE.
THE CAR WAS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, DRIVER HAD FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL. THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD NOT STOP EVEN WITH FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL. VEHICLE STRUCK TWO CARS AND ENDED UP SMASHING INTO THE REAR OF A STOPPED 18 WHEELER. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS WON'T STAY LOCKED. THEY KEEP UNLOCKING THEMSELVES. *TR
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WILL AUTOMATICALLY AND IMMEDIATELY LOCK ITSELF AFTER BEING UNLOCKED VIA THE SWITCH OR KEYFOB LOCKING ME IN OR OUT OF THE VEHICLE. IT WILL ALSO CLICK REPEATEDLY AT LOW SPEEDS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO LOCK AGAIN AND AGAIN. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK ON THE REAR LEFT DOOR WILL NOT STAY LOCKED NO MATTER WHAT I DO OR HOW I TRY TO LOCK IT, EVEN IF I PUT IN DRIVE & ALL DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE REAR DOOR UNLOCKS ITSELF. THIS IS A SAFETY & SECURITY ISSUE! *TR
THE DOOR IMMEDIATELY LOCKS ITSELF AFTER BEING UNLOCKED WITH THE KEY FAB. THE DOOR KEY WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR WHEN INSERTED AND TURNED. THE DOOR DOES THE SAME THING WHEN BEING UNLOCKED FROM THE INSIDE WITH THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DOORS. AS SOON AS YOU UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE BUTTON IT LOCKS ITSELF. *TR
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS AND UNLOCKS WHILE DRIVING. ONE DAY MY SON HAD A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE AS SOON AS HE UNLOCKED THE DOOR IT WOULD LOCK AGAIN. CONCERNS I HAVE ARE SOMEONE GETTING IN MY CAR WHILE I'M STOPPED AT A LIGHT, ETC. OR A CHILD OPENING THE DOOR FROM INSIDE WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW THE CAR IS MOVING, IT WILL STILL LOCK AND UNLOCK ON ITS OWN. *TR
LEFT REAR DOOR LOCK WAS REPEATEDLY ENGAGING/DISENGAGING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS PRIOR, THEN UNABLE TO LOCK DOOR AT ALL. REPAIR GARAGE REPLACED LOCK ACTUATOR AND CABLE FOR CHARGE OF $253.57. CURRENTLY THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO REMAIN IN LOCKED POSITION BOTH WHILE PARKED AND IN MOTION. CURRENT MILEAGE IS 90552. *TR
BATTERY DEAD AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. *TR
PASSENGER FRONT DOOR DOES NOT STAY LOCKED. WHEN I REACH 9 MPH DOORS LOCK AND FRONT PASSENGER LOCK SLOWLY UNLOCKS. THEN EVERY TIME I SLOW DOWN AND THEN GO OVER 9 MPH IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS. I CAN NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN CAR AS I AM AFRAID SOMEONE CAN JUST OPEN THE DOOR AND STEAL THE CAR OR WHATEVER MAY BE IN IT. HONDA DEALER SAYS THIS HAPPENS AND I CAN PAY THEM $350 AND THAT MAY HELP BUT NO GUARANTEES. I CAN'T EVEN SELL THE CAR THIS WAY. THIS IS IRRESPONSIBLE ON THE PART OF HONDA. DRIVER SIDE LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ON ITS OWN. WHEN TRYING TO USE REMOTE KEYPAD, THE DOOR SOMETIMES DOES NOT OPEN. I CANT USE THE KEY TO PEN DRIVER SIDE LOCK. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MANY OTHER CONSUMERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR KEPT LOCKING ON ITS OWN AUTOMATICALLY AND IMMEDIATELY EVERY TIME I UNLOCKED IT. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR MAKES LOUD SOUND EVERY TIME I LOCK THE DOORS, SCARED A KID IN THE VEHICLE AS IT HAPPENED UNEXPECTEDLY. DEALERS DIDN'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES, REPLACED THE FIRST ONE FOR $250 PLUS LABOR CHARGE AND HAVE ASKED ME TO GET THE CAR FOR SERVICING AGAIN TO SEE IF THE SECOND ONE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AS WELL. I HAVE HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE SINCE BUYING THE CAR. I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT MULTIPLE CASES WITH ACTUATOR PROBLEMS WITH CRV MODELS BUT HONDA NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE OR RECALL TO FIX DEFECTIVE ACTUATORS DESPITE BEING AWARE OF THE DEFECTS. CLASS ACTION SUITS HAVE BEEN FILED BY PEOPLE AS IT IS CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES BUT HONDA STILL NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, NOT SURE WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MAKE THEM TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
ON OUR 2007 HONDA CR-V THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING LOCKED, NO MATTER HOW IT IS LOCKED. THIS HAPPENS WITH THE CAR IN MOTION, STOPPED, WITH THE KEY FOB OR MANUALLY LOCKED. THE DOOR WILL ALSO LOCK WHILE DRIVING BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK ITSELF. THIS IS ONLY PART OF THE PROBLEM. THE UNLOCKING OF THE DOOR ALSO DISENGAGES THE ALARM. I CAN LOCK THE DOOR AND SET THE ALARM AND WITHIN A SECOND, CAN OPEN WITH DOOR WITH NO ALARM SOUNDING AT ALL. SO WITH THE DOOR UNLOCKING, MY WIFE AND CHILDREN ARE IN HARMS WAY WHEN THEY'RE STOPPED AS THERE IS NOTHING TO STOP SOMEONE FROM ENTERING THAT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR INTO THE ONLY EMPTY SEAT IN THE CAR AND DOING BODILY HARM TO THEM OR STEALING THE CAR AND LEAVING THEM WHERE EVER THEY ARE. THIS ALSO MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SECURE THE CAR WHEN AWAY FROM HOME AS BOTH THE LOCK AND ALARM ARE DISENGAGED MAKING IT TOO EASY FOR ANY CRIMINAL LOOKING FOR A TARGET OF OPPORTUNITY. THIS MEANS IN A 24 HOUR DAY, MY CAR, WHILE PARKED AND EMPTY OR FILLED WITH THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE, IS ONLY SECURED FOR LITERALLY A FEW SECONDS. BY PROXY, THAT MEANS MY WIFE AND CHILDREN ARE ONLY SECURE FOR LESS THAN THAT. *TR
PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS LESS THAN A SECOND AFTER BEING UNLOCKED, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. *TR
TOOK CAR TO HONDA IN MERRIVILLE INDIANA FOR MAINTENANCE, WAS TOLD THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS LEAKING SO BADLY IT WAS GUSHING OUT. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING, WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR, THAT WOULD HAVE MADE ME ASK HONDA TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED A PROBLEM WAS WHEN I PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION IT WOULD GIVE A ZZZZZSOUND. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK AND I HAD TO EXIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.LATER I HAD TO CLIMB OVER THE CONSOLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME. LATER ON, I WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. HOWEVER, WITHIN DAYS OF THAT INCIDENT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR CONTINUES TO LOCK AND UNLOCK WITHIN SECONDS AS I DRIVE THE CAR. I CAN NO LONGER LOCK THE DOOR WITH THE KEY FOB OR MANUALLY. I FEEL THAT THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK OR UNLOCK REMOTELY OR MANUALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE LIFT GATE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS KEEP LOCKING ON THEIR OWN IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU UNLOCK THEM. THIS CAN HAPPEN EVEN IF YOU UNLOCK THEM WITH THE AUTO KEY FOB OR THE INSIDE DOOR SWITCH. I HAVE ALSO BEEN UNABLE TO USE THE AUTO KEY FOB TO UNLOCK THE DOORS & HAD TO USE THE KEY IN THE DOOR. I HAVE EVEN HAD THE DOORS RELOCK THEMSELVES RIGHT AFTER YOU STOP THE CAR & PUT IT IN PARK. (NORMALLY THE CAR AUTO LOCKS ALL DOORS WHEN YOU DRIVE OVER ABOUT 10 MPH, THEN AUTO UNLOCKS THE DOORS ONCE YOU STOP & PUT IT IN PARK). SO I'VE BEEN LOCKED IN MY CAR WHILE I KEEP USING THE DOOR UNLOCK SWITCH OR MY KEY FOB TO TRY TO GET OUT. GOD FORBID I HAD TO EXIT MY CAR IN AN EMERGENCY! I'VE ALSO BEEN AFRAID OF DROPPING OR LEAVING MY CAR KEYS ON MY SEAT OR IN MY PURSE (WHILE IT'S IN THE CAR) WHEN I HOP OUT OF THE CAR, THEN ACCIDENTALLY SHUTTING MY CAR DOOR. I WOULD BE LOCKED OUT. *TR
THE READ DOOR LOCK KEEPS OPENING AND CLOSING WHEN I DRIVE (I HAVE MY 4 YEAR OLD AND 2.5 YEAR OLD SITTING IN THE BACK ) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THEY CAN OPEN THE DOOR AT ANY TIME. *TR

MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. EACH TIME I LOCK IT, ALL THE OTHER DOORS STAY LOCKED EXCEPT THIS DOOR. I CAN NOT MANUALLY LOCK IT, THEREFORE MY CAR IS NOW SUBJECT TO VANDALISM OR THEFT. I AM A SINGLE FEMALE AND THIS TERRIFIES ME THAT WHEN I AM SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT LIGHT SOMEONE COULD EASILY ATTACK ME OR TRY TO STEAL MY CAR. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEY CAN DO. *TR
WE HAVE A 2007 HONDA CRV AND HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH OUR LOCKS. THEY WILL CLICK NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO...EVERYTIME A STOP IS MADE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THEY RECLICK. IT CAN BE A STOP SIGN, STOP LIGHT, OR JUST A BRIEF STOP AND WE WILL HEAR A CLICKING SOUND LIKE THEY ARE RELOCKING. WE HAVE OFTEN NOTICED THAT WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO ENTER THE DRIVER DOOR OR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR THE UNLOCK MECHANISM ON THE KEY OR DRIVER DOOR HAS TO BE HIT AT THE EXACT SAME TIME FOR A PERSON TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. ALTHOUGH IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO HEAR THESE CLICKS OVER AND OVER AND TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH TRYING TO GET INTO THE CAR LIKE THIS, THERE IS AN EVEN BIGGER ISSUE OF SAFETY. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR (BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT) WILL UNLOCK ITSELF AFTER THE CAR IS IN MOTION. YOU CAN HEAR THE REAR DOOR CLICK TO UNLOCK AND IT WILL SHOW ORANGE. WHAT IS EVEN MORE ALARMING IS THAT THE REAR DOOR CAN BE OPENED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION EVEN AFTER THE DOORS HAVE BEEN MANUALLY LOCKED BY THE DRIVER PUSHING THE LOCK BUTTON! THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AS MY CHILDREN AGES 7 AND 9 RIDE IN THE BACKSEAT OF OUR CRV. *TR

THE FAILURE STARTED ON THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR AND PROGRESSED UNTIL ALL DOORS IN THE VEHICLE WERE AFFECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated the front and rear passenger’s side doors failed to latch securely. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who replaced the rear passenger’s side and the rear hatchback door actuator. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the front driver’s side door actuator to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the rear passenger’s side door actuator and the rear passenger’s side door handle to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the front passenger’s side door actuator to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to another independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the front passenger’s side door actuator to be realigned. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to another independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with needing the front passenger’s side door actuator and the front passenger’s side door latch to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 64,217.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT REMAIN LOCKED, IT UNLOCKS ITSELF IMMEDIATELY AFTER LOCKING. *TR
MY HONDA CR-V 2007 JUST STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SYSTEM. I STARTED TO NOTICE THE PROBLEM PROBABLY IN NOVEMBER 2013. THE CAR LOCKING DEFAULT SET-UP WAS AT 15MPH (MEANING EVEN IF I FORGET TO LOCK THE DOORS, THEY WILL BE LOCKED WHEN THE CAR REACH 15MPH). HOWEVER, ONE OF THE DOOR JUST UNLOCK ALL BY ITSELF RIGHT-AFTER IT GET LOCKED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN IF YOU HAVE KIDS IN YOUR CAR. I REALIZED MANY CR-V OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT HONDA DECIDED NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKS HAVE FAULTY ACTUATOR PUMPS. THE DOORS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK AT INAPPROPRIATE TIMES AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK WILL INITIALLY LOCK AND THEN UNLOCK WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. WE'RE GETTING THE DOOR LOCKS FIXED OUT OF POCKET, BUT THIS LEVEL OF FAILURE SEEMS UNREASONABLE FOR THE AGE AND CONDITION OF THIS CAR. HONDA NEEDS TO ASSIST WITH REPAIRS AND/OR HELP OWNERS PAY FOR THE FIX. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE A REPAIR SHOP. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON AFTER DRIVING AT A HIGHWAY SPEED FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES. SLOANE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN PHILADELPHIA PA STATED THAT THEY REPLACED TPMS UNIT AND ALL FOUR PRESSURE SENSORS BUT TO NO AVAIL. *TR
THE POWER SWITCHES ON DOORS ARE EASY TO FAIL. THE ACTUATOR FAILED AND THE DOOR IS GETTING 'LOCKED' ITSELF WHICH COULD BE AN ISSUE IF CHILD IS LEFT IN THE CAR WITH KEY. I GOT THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THIS ISSUE ON MY PASSENGER - RIGHT DOOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND NOW GOT THE SAME ISSUE ON DOOR IN DRIVER SEAT. *TR
ISSUES INVOLVING DOOR LOCKS UNLOCKING AND LOCKING WHILE DRIVING. CANNOT OPEN BACK HATCH MOST OF THE TIME. WIFE HAS WITNESSED DOORS UNRESPONSIVE TO OPENING AT TIMES, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE REAR DOOR LOCKS WILL CONTINUOUSLY UNLOCK THEMSELVES. THE LOCKS WILL CONTINUE TO ENGAGE (MAKE A NOISE AS IF SOMEONE WERE PRESSING THE LOCK SWITCH) EVEN IF I DO NOT RE-LOCK THE DOORS. *TR

FOR OVER A YEAR, MY 2007 HONDA CR-V HAS HAD A LOCK ACTUATOR MALFUNCTION WHERE THE RIGHT YEAR PASSENGER DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED WHILE DRIVING AND UNLOCKS WHEN I TRY TO LOCK THE CAR. MY 4 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WAS IN THE BACK SEAT AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE WE WERE IN MOTION WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK! ALSO, THE DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK WHEN I GOT BELOW AND ABOVE 10MPH AND MAKE A HUGE CLICKING SOUND. NOT ONLY CAN I ONLY DRIVE ONE OF MY NEPHEWS IN MY CAR AT A TIME AND THEY MUST SIT ON THE LEFT SIDE TO AVOID THEM OPENING THE DOOR AGAIN, EVERY NIGHT WHEN I LOCK MY CAR, THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS UNLOCKED AND ANYONE CAN GET IN THE CAR. IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, SUDDENLY THE DOOR LOCKS WON'T REMAIN OPEN AFTER OPENING WITH KEY FOB. THE DOOR LOCKS WILL OPEN FOR A SECOND OR TWO, BUT THEN AUTOMATICALLY RETURN TO THE LOCKED POSITION. APPEARS TO BE AN ELECTRO-MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION WITH THE ELECTRONICS AND LOCKING ACTUATORS. THIS OCCURS ON ALL DOORS (FRONT AND REAR, INCLUDING TAILGATE DOOR), IN ALL SCENARIOS (ENGINE RUNNING; ENGINE NOT RUNNING; DOOR OPEN; DOOR SHUT; KEY IN IGNITION; KEY OUT OF IGNITION). IN ADDITION, THE DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTONS ON THE DOOR PANEL WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY....IT'S LIKE THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. IT TAKES A GREAT AMOUNT OF FORCE TO UNLOCK THE BUTTON, BUT THEN IT AUTOMATICALLY RETURNS TO THE LOCKED POSITION. HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE SOURCE OF PROBLEM. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE! *TR

THE PASSENGER DOOR REGULARLY DOES NOT REMAIN ELECTRONICALLY LOCKED DESPITE USING THE DRIVER DOOR SWITCH AND/OR REMOTE. THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IF INVOLVED IN VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS SINCE THE OCCUPANTS MAY BECOME ENTRAPPED WHEN THE DEFECT PREVENTS AN OCCUPANT FROM UNLOCKING THE DOORS. FURTHERMORE, THIS DEFECT JEOPARDIZES THE SAFETY OF VEHICLE OCCUPANTS SINCE NOT ALL DOORS ARE CAPABLE OF BEING MANUALLY UNLOCKED FROM THE EXTERIOR. INSTEAD, AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE VEHICLES DRIVER DOOR, THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING MECHANISM IS THE ONLY METHOD AVAILABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE VEHICLE FROM THE EXTERIOR - ONLY THE DRIVER'S DOOR HAS A SLOT ALLOWING USE OF A PHYSICAL KEY. WHILE THIS ISSUE RISKS THE SAFETY OF ALL OCCUPANTS, THE DOOR LOCK DEFECT POSES AN ACUTE RISK TO CHILDREN IN THE FRONT SEAT SINCE THEY MAY BE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND, DUE TO THE LACK OF AN EXTERIOR LOCKING MECHANISM, AN INDIVIDUAL ON THE OUTSIDE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK THESE DOORS AND GAIN INTERIOR ACCESS. HONDA HAS APPARENTLY LONG BEEN WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. DESPITE ITS LONGSTANDING KNOWLEDGE OF THIS DESIGN DEFECT, HONDA HAS ROUTINELY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE CARS WITHOUT CHARGE WHEN THE DEFECT MANIFESTS. AS A RESULT OF DEFENDANTS UNFAIR, DECEPTIVE AND/OR FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES, OWNERS AND/OR LEASEES HAVE SUFFERED AN ASCERTAINABLE LOSS OF MONEY AND/OR PROPERTY AND/OR LOSS IN VALUE. THE UNFAIR AND DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES COMMITTED BY HONDA HAS CAUSED MANY AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES. FEW DAYS AGO I WENT INTO PHARMACY AND LEFT MY 8 YEAR OLD NIECE IN THE CAR TO PICK UP FEW THINGS. CAME BACK OUT IN ABOUT 5-7 MINUTES AND SHE WAS CRYING HER EYES OUT YELLING AND SCREAMING. I ASKED HER WHAT HAPPENED AS I ENTERED THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. SHE COULDN'T SPEAK FOR FEW MINUTES BECAUSE OF TEARS. SHE TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR AND SHE GOT SCARED. ENTIRE FAMILY IS HONDA AND ACURA LOYAL CUSTOMERS. MY FAMILY HAD ENOUGH HONDA PROBLEMS WITH THE 2011 HONDA ACCORD BRAKES MAKING SQUEAKING NOISES AFTER REPLACING BRAKE PADS 2 TIMES. 2003 ACURA TL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.
