THE POWER DOOR LOCKS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN UNLOCKING THE CAR TO EITHER ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE CAR LOCKS AGAIN AUTOMATICALLY IN LESS THAN A SECOND. THIS OCCURS WHEN USING THE REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE CAR AS WELL AS WHEN UNLOCKING THE CAR FROM ANY DOOR BOTH OUTSIDE AND INSIDE MANUALLY. IN ADDITION TO THIS MALFUNCTION BEING A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE WITH NEARLY HAVING LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF THE CAR NUMEROUS TIMES (PARTICULARLY AT THE GAS PUMP AND IN STORE PARKING LOTS), IT MOST CERTAINLY IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT BOTH ENTERING AND EXITING THE VEHICLE AT ANY GIVEN TIME, LET ALONE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS IN TOW. *TR
DRIVER SIDE LOCK AND TRUNK LOCK INITIALLY ABOUT A MONTH AGO WOULD NOT LOCK MANUALLY OR REMOTELY. THEN TWO DAYS AGO, THE CAR WOULD NOT UNLOCK AT ALL. HAD TO HAVE THE CAR UNLOCKED BY A COMPANY. NOW ONLY THE PASSENGER AND TWO REAR DOORS WORK. I HAVE TO CRAWL IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET IN THE CAR. *TR
2007 HONDA CRV PROBLEMS WITH DOOR LOCKS. THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND CAN'T BE RELOCKED. AT FIRST IT WAS THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCK, GOT THAT FIXED @ HONDA AND COST ABOUT $300 BACK IN OCT 2010 @ 38500 OD MI. NOW, THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK HAS THE SAME PROBLEM! USING REMOTE KEYLESS OR DRIVER'S MASTER DOOR LOCK BUTTON, ALL DOORS LOCK EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR. IT CONSTANTLY MAKES GRINDING SOUNDS AND LOCK CLICKING ON BUT DOES NOT LOCK!!.. TRIED TO LOCK MANUALLY, BUT KEY DOES NOT WORK, AFRAID TO FORCE IT AND HAVE IT BREAK IN THE LOCK. SAFETY ISSUE AND AS WELL AS PROPERTY DAMAGE (UNABLE TO SECURE PROPERTY). I HEAR THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH HONDAS CRV AND OTHER MODELS, DATING BACK QUITE A FEW YEARS AND MAKES SENSE IF HONDA CONTRACTING THE SAME VENDORS! QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE? THE RECENT RECALL FOR 2012 HONDAS AND ACURAS FOR DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCKS!! IF USING SAME VENDOR - SAME PROBLEM - AND WHY ONLY 2012 IF OLDER CARS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS? RECALL SHOULD BE FOR OLDER CARS AS WELL! ***THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE POWERTRAIN @ 66000 OD MI. - RECENTLY NOTICED THAT AT SPEEDS OF 10 - 15 MPH ( AFTER EVERY STOP) CAR SLUGGISH AS IF ABOUT TO LOSE POWER (DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE) RECALL ISSUES! *TR
I WAS STOPPED AT A MARKET AND CLOSED MY DOOR IN A NORMAL FASHION. . THE SEAT BELT IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT RETRACT, AND THE METAL BUCKLE JAMMED IN THE LOCKING MECHANISM AND BROKE THE LOCK. THE DOOR LOCK WAS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE AIRPORT HONDA DEALERSHIP IN LOS ANGELES CA. STEERING WITH MY LEFT HAND AND HOLDING THE DOOR WITH MY RIGHT HAND,. AN INTAKE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP BY THE NAME OF [XXX], PUT A SCREW DRIVER IN THE MECHANISM AND UNJAMMED THE LOCK. I THOUGHT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. MY DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. DUE TO FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS I COULD NOT AFFORD THE ESTIMATE OF REPAIRS AT THE TIME . I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE REIMBURSED AFTER THE INSPECTION AND REPAIRS WERE MADE. I PAID FOR THE REPAIRS IN THE AMOUNT OF $307.00. AFTER JUMPING THROUGH EVERY HOOP THAT HONDA REQUESTED OF ME, I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT I COULD NOT BE REIMBURSED IN CASH, HONDA WAS NEVER CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY OR IF THE SEAT BELT WOULD ACTUALLY HOLD UP IN AN ACCIDENT. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE .MY SEAT BELT WAS REPLACED AND DEEMED DEFECTIVE BY A CERTIFIED HONDA MECHANIC. THE LOCKS ON MY CAR'S DOORS AUTOMATICALLY RE-LOCK WITHIN A SECOND OF TRYING TO UNLOCK THEM. WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, AND I AM IN PARK, I CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOORS AT ALL. I AM VERY NERVOUS THAT I MAY END UP GETTING LOCKED IN MY CAR WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO EXIT; THIS COULD BE ESPECIALLY HAZARDOUS IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANOTHER EMERGENCY. *TR
WHEN USING THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, THEY RELOCKED AUTOMATICALLY IN LESS THAN ONE SECOND. THIS WAS INITIALLY OCCURRING SPORADICALLY, BUT WITHIN A WEEK PROGRESSED TO CONSTANTLY. EVEN UNLOCKING MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE, IT RELOCKED ON ITS OWN BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE, AS I USE MY VEHICLE MOSTLY AS TRANSPORTATION FOR MY YOUNG CHILDREN. THE FIRST TIME IT KEPT LOCKING ON ME, MY BABY WAS IN HER CAR SEAT AND I WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. THIS WAS VERY FRIGHTENING TO ME. I MUST NOW SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON AND USE MY OTHER HAND TO OPEN THE DOOR TO BE ABLE TO ENTER OR EXIT MY VEHICLE. I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHO TOLD ME THAT HE HADN'T HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM, AND THAT IT WOULD COST $ 127 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO TRY TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM AMERICAN HONDA ABOUT 2007 CR-V HONDA DRIVERS DOOR LOCK MAY NOT LOCK OR CYCLE WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SPRING BRANCH HONDA IN HOUSTON, TX FOR THE RECALL REPAIR; NOW THE LEFT REAR DOOR CYCLES LOCK/UNLOCK WHEN STOPPING AND STARTING EVERYTIME YOU STOP/START, BUT WILL NOT LOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED-OFF NOR AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE LEFT DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION NOR AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. EVEN THOUGH MY EIGHT YEAR OLD IS WEARING A SEATBELT I'M STILL AFRAID HE MAY OPEN THE DOOR ACCIDENTALLY AND FALL OUT OF A MOVING VEHICLE. *TR
DOOR LOCKS BEGAN TO LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES REPEATEDLY AS I DROVE, UNLOCKING @ AROUND 9 MPH NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I RELOCKED. IF I RELOCKED THEM THEY WOULD OPEN AT AN INTERSECTION STOP (VERY UNSAFE ALSO!), OR JUST OPEN & CLOSE WHILE I WAS DRIVING - ALL KINDS OF NOISY DOOR-LOCKING & UNLOCKING. I WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE REAR DOOR LOCKED AT ALL WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR, LEAVING IT UNLOCKED AT NIGHT OR IF I LEFT THE CARE TO GO SOMEWHERE. I WAS ON A TRIP WITH LUGGAGE, COMPUTER, GPS, ETC. IN THE CAR AND IT WAS UNLOCKED! WHEN I GOT BACK HOME TO RHODE ISLAND AND BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY FOUND THE LOCK ACTUATORS ON THE FRONT & REAR PASSENGER DOORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $524. THEY STATED THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT IT WAS NOT CAUSE BY ANYTHING I DID, WHICH MADE ME EVEN MORE UNCOMFORTABLE BECAUSE THEN IT MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN! I FELT I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE SERVICE COMPLETED BECAUSE I FELT SO UNSAFE WITH AN UNLOCKED AUTO, BOTH ON THE ROAD WHEN DRIVING AND ALSO OVERNIGHT OR WHEN PARKED. I HAVE JUST SUBMITTED THIS INFORMATION, SERVICE INVOICE, AND A COPY OF MY PROOF OF PAYMENT TO HONDA IN TORRANCE, CA, ONLY BECAUSE I SAW A SIMILAR COMPLAINT ON WPRI-TV IN PROVIDENCE - WHICH MADE ME REALIZE I WAS NOT AT ALL ALONE WITH THIS ISSUE. *TR
DRIVER SIDE DOOR RE-LOCKS WITHIN 2 SECONDS OF BEING UNLOCKED BY REMOTE OR DOOR PANEL SWITCH. DOOR LOCK LEVER IS THEN STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION AND CANNOT BE MANUALLY OVER RIDDEN NOR CAN THE DOOR BE OPENED FROM INSIDE! BATTERY VOLTAGE IS OK. SAME SITUATION WHETHER ENGINE IS RUNNING OR NOT. NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A POWER FAILURE, BUT IT MIGHT BE THAT THE DRIVER CAN NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR AND GET OUT AFTER A CRASH. NASTY SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
DEAR NHTSA, I OWN 2007 CRV EX-L . I'M EXPERIENCING A PECULIAR PROBLEM IN MY CRV SOMETIMES THE DOOR GETS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY OR WHEN WE TRY TO OPEN IT THROUGH REMOTE KEYS, DOOR GETS LOCKS IMMEDIATELY WITH IN A SECOND. ONE TIME MY KID WAS INSIDE AND ACCIDENTALLY I CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT GOT LOCKED. I WAS REALLY SCARED BUT LUCKILY AFTER FEW TRIES, IT GOT OPENED. I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT, IF THIS HAPPENS IN A CRUCIAL TIME WHEN WE WANT TO OPEN THE DOOR AND ALL ARE INSIDE THE CAR.WHEN I SAID THIS TO MY FRIEND WHO OWNS 2008 CRV, HE SAID THAT HE IS ALSO HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND HE REFERRED ANOTHER FRIEND WHO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. SO I THINK WE NEED TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE TO AVOID ANY TERRIBLE SITUATION IN FUTURE. IF NEEDED I CAN SHARE TWO OF MY FRIENDS INFORMATION RIGHT NOW. REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SLOWLY UNLOCKS AFTER BEING KEY FOB-ACTIVATED OR MANUALLY LOCKED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN, AS MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT IS ANCHORED ON THAT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION TO THIS CONCERN, MY CAR HAS RECENTLY BEEN BROKEN INTO AND ITEMS HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM MY VEHICLE AS A RESULT OF THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. UNACCEPTABLE. I AM PUZZLED AS TO WHY HONDA HASN'T ISSUED A RECALL. *TR
MY SON GOT IN THE VEHICLE TO TAKE HIS WIFE TO PICK UP HER CAR AND THE SEATBELT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS LOCKED. WE TRIED EVERYTHING WE COULD THINK OF AND WASN'T ABLE TO UNLOCK IT. LOCAL BODY SHOP COULDN'T GET IT UNLOCKED 1/28/2013 AND SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. JUST WONDERING IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE, IF SO WE WEREN'T NOTIFIED. 100,000 PLUS MILES VEHICLE AT SHOP AT PRESENT TIME. *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND CAN'T BE RELOCKED. ALSO, THE OTHER DOOR LOCKS CLICK FOR NO REASON. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAD ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED. IT LOST ITS ABS AND VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL. IT DID NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO US SINCE THE ROAD WAS NOT THAT CROWDED. AFTER THAT WE ALWAYS HAD TO KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE. GOT INSPECTED AT HONDA SHOWROOM AND THEY FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE STABILITY MODULATOR WAS NOT WORKING AND IT WOULD COST $2000 TO HAVE IT FIXED. *TR
I FIRST HAD TO REPLACE THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR LOCK (300 DOLLARS) DUE TO IT WOULD NOT LOCK AND CAR WAS UNLOCKED WHEN CARRYING GRANDKIDS... THIS MONTH THE LOCK HAS FAILED IN THE FRONT LOCKS....IF U TRY TO UNLOCK IT ...IT LOCKS BACK SO FAST YOU CANNOT GET THE DOOR OPENED....THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS WHOEVER IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE CANNOT GET OUT...I AM HAVING TO SPEND ANOTHER 3 TO 4 HUNDRED DOLLARS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.....IT IS A KNOWN HONDA ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO RECALL OR ASSIST IN FIXING THE ISSUE....THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR THIS ISSUE... *TR
WHEN I USE KEYLESS ENTRY OR KEY ENTRY, I HAVE ABOUT 3 SECONDS BEFORE ALL LOCKS IN THE VEHICLE LOCK BACK UP. WHEN I GET OUT OF THE CAR, THIS ALSO HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I GET IN MY CAR OR GET OUT OF MY CAR. I TRIED RE-PROGRAMMING THE KEYLESS ENTRY AND THIS DID NOT WORK. I HAVE HAD MY KEYS LOCKED IN MY CAR AND HAD TO CALL A TOWING COMPANY TO COME UNLOCK THE CAR FOR ME. FINALLY AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS OF THIS HAPPENING, I GOT INTO MY CAR ON 08/14/2013 USING THE KEYLESS ENTRY AND ONCE MY LOCKS LOCKED UP AND I TRIED TO START MY CAR, THE ENTIRE CAR SHUT DOWN (LIGHTS, LOCKS, HORN, IGNITION, CAR ENGINE.) I HAD TO USE THE MANUAL RESTART LOCATED ON MY DASH BOARD TO GET THE CAR TO START BACK UP. THIS ALL SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
UPON LOCKING THE DOOR USING EITHER THE KEYLESS ENTRY BUTTON OR THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS ON THE DOORS BOTH THE LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR DOORS IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK. UPON UNLOCKING THE DOORS THE RIGHT REAR DOOR IMMEDIATELY RE-LOCKS ITSELF. *TR

I REMEMBER ONE TIME; WHEN I TOOK A FLYER THAT STUCK ON MY WINDSHIELD BEFORE I DROVE HOME; SUDDENLY, MY DOOR HAD LOCKED BY THE WIND. THAT MADE ME CRAZY TO FIND THE WAY TO OPEN IT BECAUSE MY LITTLE BOY (10 MONTHS) WAS INSIDE & BEING LOCKED! I HAVE TO ASK FOR HELP FROM A LOCKSMITH. FOR 20 MINUTES STANDING OUTSIDE & SEE MY LITTLE BOY'S CRYING WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP HIM!!!!!! NOW : BOTH REAR DOORS CAN NOT BE LOCKED! WHENEVER I LOCK THEM BY THE REMOTE OR MANUALLY. BUT MY FRONT DOORS ARE KEEP LOCKING AFTER TWO SECONDS . I'M SO WORRIED THAT SOME DAY PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT MY SECRET ( ABOUT DOORS NOT LOCKING) & MY CAR WILL BE GONE! I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY DOOR LOCKS. THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS DON'T WORK PROPERLY AND THE REAR HATCH ALSO WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO?.....I'VE READ THE OWNERS MANUAL AND DONE WHAT IT SAYS TO DO TO NO AVAIL....PLEASE TELL ME IF THEIR IS A REMEDY. *TR
IN DECEMBER, MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. I TRIED TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR AND THE LOCK WOULD NOT BUDGE. MY BABY WAS IN HIS REAR-FACING CARSEAT ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR SO I HAD TO OPEN THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO GET MY BABY OUT THROUGH THAT DOOR. THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO ESCALATE TO THE POINT THAT AS OF TODAY (06/11/13), THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NO LONGER LOCK AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL ONLY REMAIN UNLOCKED FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE MOVING ITSELF BACK TO THE LOCKED POSITION. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER TOMORROW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS I HAVE FOUND ON THE INTERNET, HONDA SHOULD BE FORCED TO ISSUE A RECALL. I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND I FEAR THAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND WE NEED TO EVACUATE THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR LOCKS MAY FAIL ALL TOGETHER AND WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS AT THE CABIN FINISHING UP SOME CHORES. WENT TO PUT SOME TOOLS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE HONDA CRV AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE BACK HATCH. THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED WITH OUT GREAT DIFFICULTY FROM THE INSIDE AND NOT AT ALL FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE HATCH COULD BE OPENED ALSO ONLY FROM THE INSIDE AFTER CRAWLING OVER THE SEATS AND ONLY AFTER REMOVING THE LATCH PANEL AND MANUALLY FLIPPING THE LATCH. AFTER I GOT HOME I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND THE INTERNET IS FULL OF SUCH PROBLEMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME MODELS OF CRV 2006 AND OLDER HAD A RECALL. OF COURSE MINE IS A 2007. PROBLEMS WITH THE LATCH AND ACTUATOR ARE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT OR FIRE BOTH OF THESE EGRESSES OUT OF THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE EITHER BY THE OCCUPANTS OR RESCUE PERSONNEL. THE COST TO GET THIS REPAIRED IS SIGNIFICANT LEAVING THE POTENTIAL FOR THE PROBLEM NOT TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
DOOR LOCKS NORMALLY WITH KEY FOB OR AT DESIGNATED SPEED OF 8MPH. HOWEVER LEFT REAR AND RIGHT FRONT SLOWLY UNLOCK AFTER ABOUT 3 SECONDS. REPEATED KEY FOB USE IS TO NO AVAIL. USING THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH OR THE ACTUAL DOOR LOCK MECHANISM WILL STILL NOT ALLOW DOOR TO REMAIN LOCKED. HIGHLY UNSAFE AS THERE IS NO WAY TO KEEP DOOR LOCKED AND PREVENT DOOR FROM OPENING. VEHICLE IS NOW EASILY HIJACKABLE OR CAN BE BROKEN INTO QUICKLY. *TR
THIS IS COMPLAINT FOR THE HONDA CR-V 2007 LX MODEL. THE PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK, AFTER LOCKING THE CAR. SO EVERY TIME I LOCK THE CAR, THE DOOR LOCK WOULD RE-OPEN.

IN AUGUST, 2010, WE PURCHASED 4 GOODYEAR ASSURANCE FUEL MAX TIRES. ON DECEMBER 7, 2012 , MY WIFE AND I EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT TO OUR REAR TIRE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE-95 IN FLORIDA AT A HIGH SPEED ((70MPH) CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF OUR 2007 HONDA CRV. WE SWERVING ACROSS SIX LANES OF TRAFFIC, ALMOST FLIPPED, AND NARROWLY AVOIDED CRASHING INTO CONCRETE A WALL BEFORE I FINALLY OBTAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO PULLEY OFF ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. OUR VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY GOODYEAR IN OCTOBER, AND THE TIRES WERE INSPECTED AND ROTATED AT THAT TIME. AT THE TIME OF THE BLOWOUT, THE TIRES ONLY HAD 27,000 MILES ON THEM. THEY ARE WARRANTIED FOR 65,000 MILES. WE CONTACTED THE GOODYEAR STORE THE NEXT DAY, AND THE MANAGER INSPECTED THE TIRE AND COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE TIRE BLEW OUT. HE ASKED IF WE HIT SOMETHING. WE DIDN'T HIT A THING. WE JUST HEARD A POP. THE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF THE STORE STATED, "THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY," REGARDING OUR STATEMENT THAT WE HIT NOTHING. THE TIRE WAS NOT TORN, BUT WAS SPLIT FROM RIM TO RIM, COMPLETELY SEVERING THE BELTS. MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THIS ACCIDENT AND OTHER DRIVERS COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED AS WELL. WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THIS EVER AGAIN. GOODYEAR CLAIMS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THESE TIRES, BUT WE HAVE SEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT BLOWOUTS ON GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TIRES. GOODYEAR OFFERED US A SMALL PRICE ADJUSTMENT TO REPLACE OUR TIRES, BUT WE ARE AFRAID TO PURCHASE GOODYEAR TIRES. GOODYEAR MUST RECALL THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE. *TR
MY 2007 HONDA CR-V DOOR LOCKS (PASSENGER SIDE) STARTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE WHEN IT WAS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD, BUT MY SON NOTICED IN NOVEMBER THAT THE DOORS WOULD IMMEDIATELY UNLOCK AFTER THEY ARE LOCKED, EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES WHEN MY HATCH HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND I COULD NOT OPEN IT. I WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE HAVING A SMALL CHILD IN MY CAR WHEN THE DOORS WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL LOCK AUTOMATICALLY AND WILL SOMETIMES NOT UNLOCK. *TR
LAST FALL, THE DOOR LOCK ON THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR ON MY 2007 HONDA CRV BEGAN TO LOCK BACK AFTER UNLOCKING IT TO ALLOW MY SON INTO THE CAR. IT LOCKS BACK WITHIN 2-3 SECONDS OF UNLOCKING IT WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY. SINCE THIS TIME, THE OTHER 3 DOORS OPERATE IN THE SAME MANNER. THE DOORS LOCK BACK WITHIN SECONDS AFTER UNLOCKING. ON MONDAY, JULY 15, MY CAR DID NOT START. WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION, I GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO GO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER CHECKING UNDER THE HOOD, I TRIED TO GET BACK IN MY CAR BUT COULD NOT...THE DOORS WERE LOCKED...ALL FOUR OF THEM ALONG WITH THE HATCHBACK. I RETURNED INSIDE MY HOME TO RETRIEVE MY SPARE CAR KEY. THE KEY DID NOT UNLOCK MY DOOR. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT LUCK. THERE IS ONLY ONE KEY ENTRY POINT WITH THE MODEL I HAVE AND THE KEY DID NOT WORK. I HAD TO ENTER THE CAR THROUGH THE SUNROOF, WHICH I HAD LEFT OPEN THE PREVIOUS EVENING. I THEN REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION AND ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR MANUALLY WITH THIS KEY. IT DID NOT OPEN THE DOOR, EITHER. NEITHER DOES THE VALET KEY. THE ONLY WAY I CAN OPEN MY CAR IS WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY. I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST BETWEEN $800-$1200 TO FIX. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS RIGHT - I SHOULD BE ABLE TO OPEN MY CAR WITH A KEY. I CAN GET BY WITHOUT THE KEYLESS ENTRY BUT ALL CARS, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE OR YEARS, SHOULD OPEN MANUALLY WITH A KEY. *TR

I HAVE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF THE HEAD RESTRAINTS ON NEWER VEHICLES. I UNDERSTAND THE PHYSICS BEHIND THE SAFETY FEATURE OF HAVING THE HEAD RESTRAINTS TILTED CLOSE TO THE DRIVERS HEAD. HOWEVER, IF YOU DRIVE WITH YOUR HEAD ALREADY CLOSE TO A HEAD RESTRAINT THAT IS NOT TILTED (AS FOUND IN THE OLDER VEHICLES 2004 AND OLDER), YOU WILL STILL GET THE SAME SAFETY AND THE HEAD RESTRAINT IS MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE AND IT DOESN'T CAUSE PAIN. YOU NEED TO REVIEW AND AMEND YOUR REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SAFETY FEATURE, BECAUSE CURRENTLY, THE TILTED HEAD RESTRAINTS ARE CAUSING MORE HARM (AND PAIN) THAN SAFETY TO US DRIVERS WHO DRIVE UPRIGHT. *TR
BOTH OF THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS ACTUATORS ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. SOME TIMES WHEN YOU TRY TO UNLOCK THE CAR THE DOORS WON'T UNLOCK, IN OTHER OCCASIONS WHEN YOU TRY TO LOCK THE CAR THE DOORS STAY UNLOCKED. THIS IS CAUSING THE ALARM TO ARM ITSELF AND WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR THE ALARM GOES OFF, THE ONLY WAY TO TURN IT OFF IS WITH THE CONTROL REMOTE. SOME TIMES THE ALARM GETS ARMED WHILE WE ARE IN THE CAR AND IT WON?T START DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH ACTUATORS. IN VARIOUS OCCASIONS THE DOORS REMAINED LOCKED WHILE WE WERE IN THE CAR. THE UNLOCK BUTTON DOES NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS, EVEN TRYING TO UNLOCK THE LOCK MANUALLY WONT WORK. THE ACTUATORS STAY LOCKED!!! I?M PRETTY SURE THE BACK DOORS WILL START FAILING TOO ANY TIME SOON. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA NEEDS TO PUT OUT A RECALL TO THIS PROBLEM RIGHT A WAY, OR MAYBE THEY WAITING UNTIL SOMEONE DIES TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR POOR PARTS QUALITY. *TR

THE PASSENGER REAR RIGHT (R.RR) DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON 8/25/12 IN THE LOCKED POSITION THEN EVENTUALLY WOULD UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE FOB BUT WOULD IMMEDIATELY RELOCK ON ITS OWN. THE PASSENGER FRONT (R.FR) DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON 12/10/12 WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS THE R.RR ACTUATOR. THE PASSENGER LEFT REAR (L.RR) ACTUATOR FAILED ON 8/15/13 IN THE LOCKED MODE AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK WITH THE MECHANICAL LEVER OR REMOTE FOB. IN ORDER TO GET THE DOOR OPEN I HAD TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL AND DISSEMBLE THE ACTUATOR STILL INSTALLED IN THE DOOR. *TR
ON MY 2007 CRV THE DOORS, IF NOT ALREADY LOCKED, LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE CAR REACHES ABOUT 10 TO 20 MPH. IN MID AUGUST 2012 I BEGAN TO HEAR THE CLICKING OF THE DOOR LOCKING EACH TIME I STARTED AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR HAVING SLOWED DOWN. I REALIZED THAT THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WAS NOT LOCKING. I BROUGHT IT TO BE FIXED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ACTUATOR. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS $230.00. TWO MONTHS LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH ANOTHER DOOR-THIS TIME, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR. AND THEN IN DECEMBER IT HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR. I DID NOT GET THE LAST TWO FIXED RIGHT AWAY DUE TO THE COST (WITH 2 IT WOULD BE AROUND $500.00 WHICH I DID NOT HAVE AT THE TIME) BUT IT BECAME A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM BECAUSE I COULD NOT LOCK MY CAR. THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE TOO, I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE RIDING IN MY CAR IN CERTAIN NEIGHBORHOODS AND I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE THEFT OF MY CAR OR ITEMS IN MY CAR SINCE THERE WAS NO WAY TO LOCK THE DOORS. I HAVE HAD THE TWO ACTUATORS REPLACED AND HAVE CONTACTED HONDA BUT THEY SAY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY VIN # AND WITH THE MILAGE AND AGE OF MY CAR....HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OTHER MODELS WITH DOOR LOCK ISSUES. HONDA KNOWS THAT THE DOOR LOCKS ARE/HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. I BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT HONDA SHOULD ADDRESS. EVERY TIME I WOULD PUSH ON THE GAS AFTER BEING STOPPED A LIGHT OR SLOWED DOWN FOR A SPEED BUMP, ETC. THE DOORS ALL TRIED TO RELOCK TO GET THAT ONE DOOR LOCKED, BUT IT WOULD JUST POP BACK OPEN AGAIN. THEN, IN THE LAST MONTH MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING. NOW MY LOCKS HAVE GONE HAYWIRE. THEY ARE CONSTANTLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. WHEN I TURN MY CAR OFF ALL THE DOORS WILL LOCK. WHEN I TRY TO UNLOCK THEM THEY AUTOMATICALLY RELOCK IN 2 SECONDS. I HAVE TO ALWAYS KEEP MY KEYS WITH ME FOR FEAR OF THEM GETTING LOCKED IN THE CAR. LUCKILY I STUCK A SPARE UNDERNEATH THE CAR BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY MY 1 YR OLD GOT LOCKED IN THE CAR WITH MY KEYS! TODAY MY LOCKS ARE MAKING AN UNEARTHLY GRINDING SOUND EVERY TIME THEY TRY TO LOCK WHICH COULD BE 20 TIMES JUST IN ONE TRIP TO THE GROCERY STORE.
