TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE IN MARCH 2016, CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS IN APRIL AND WAS TOLD PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN SUMMER. I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE IT WAS REGISTERED TO A BUSINESS THAT VEHICLE WASN'T SUBJECT TO SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (IF I COMPLAINED TO MANAGER THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO SOONER?). RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE JULY, 2016 AND CALLED DEALER JULY 25TH AND STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE. THIS IS NOT WITHIN 60 DAYS OR A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME. TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN APRIL 2015 ADVISING TO NOT DRIVE CAR UNTIL DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED. HONDA PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR UNTIL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. (APPROX 3-4 WEEKS.) JULY 2015 RECEIVE ANOTHER NOTICE THAT THE SIDE BAG IS NEEDING REPLACEMENT AND THAT NO ONE SHOULD SIT IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT UNTIL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE LETTER SAID LATE SUMMER OR EARLY FALL IS THE DATE REPAIRS WILL OCCUR.CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION FOR PASSENGER SEAT ISSUES AND PASSENGERS SHOULD SIT IN THE BACK. I TOLD THEM THAT I HAVE 5 MEMBERS IN MY FAMILY AND IN A 5 PASSENGER CAR, SOMEONE MUST SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD ASSIGN A CASE NUMBER AND SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME. THAT WAS 3 WEEKS AGO AND 6 PHONE CALLS TO HONDA AND NO ONE HAS GOTTEN BACK TO ME AT ALL. THEY EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO SAY THAT MY CASE WAS EXPEDITED. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR THIS WAY AND HONDA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION UNTIL THEIR CAR IS MADE SAFE. HOW MANY DEATHS AND INJURIES WOULD JUSTIFY THIS EXPENDITURE. PLEASE HELP AS I AM NOT THE ONLY BEING TREATED THIS WAY BY HONDA, AND IT NEEDS TO CHANGE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOMETER AND FUEL GAUGE READINGS FLUCTUATED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. IN ADDITION, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.
TAKATA RECALL. SLOW RESPONSE. I CONTACTED MY DEALER (HUGGINS HONDA, N. RICHLAND HILLS,TX) ON APRIL 12, 2016 FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THEY "DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS." THEY HAVE FAILED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD (60 DAYS FROM THE DATE I OFFICIALLY CONTACTED THEM FOR AN APPOINTMENT.) WHAT SHOULD I DO? PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.

TAKATA RECALL. I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE WAY HONDA HAS HANDLED MY PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. THE DRIVER SIDE RECALL THEY HANDLED PROMPTLY. BUT AS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE: I HAVE BEEN CALLING HONDA HEADQUARTERS FOR 6 WEEKS TO TRY TO GET SOMEONE TO AUTHORIZE A RENTAL. OUR FAMILY IS TOO LARGE TO SQUEEZE INTO THE BACK SEAT, WHAT WITH TRANSPORTING CHILDREN TO SPORTS PRACTICE AND SCHOOL. I HAVE BEEN CALLING HONDA SINCE THE THIRD WEEK OF JULY, SO FAR I HAVE YET TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER. I BELIEVE HONDA HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME.
REAR DRIVER-SIDE DOOR UNLOCKS BY ITSELF IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING LOCKED AND WILL NOT STAY IN THE LOCKED POSITION. HONDA ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THESE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS WERE DEFECTIVE AND ISSUED A "PRODUCT UPDATE" ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY 3 ADDITIONAL YEARS ON ALL OTHER DOORS. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAS NOW EXPIRED AND HONDA WILL NO LONGER REPLACE DEFECTIVE LOCKS ON ANY DOORS OTHER THAN THE DRIVER'S DOOR. ALL DOOR LOCKS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT THEY DON'T ALL FAIL AT THE SAME TIME OR WITHIN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD. CALLED HONDA AND WAS TOLD "THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU."

TAKATA RECALL - OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS, I HAVE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS FROM HIONDA. THE FIRST ALERTED ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS BEING RECALLED BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG ISSUE, BUT PARTS WEREN'T CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO FIX IT SO THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME IN THE FUTURE. THIS MONTH, I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER FROM HONDA AGAIN NOTIFYING ME OF THE RECALL AND STATING THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL NOTIFY IN LATE SUMMER/FALL WHEN TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN. THE LETTER ALSO SUGGESTS AVOID HAVING ANY PASSENGERS SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED. THIS IS CRAZY. I AM SUPPOSED TO NOT ALLOW FRONT PASSENGERS FOR SOME UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TIME THEY WON'T PROVIDE. ESSENTIALLY, IF I FOLLOW THEIR SUGGESTIONS, MY VEHICLE HAS BECOME A 4 PASSENGER INSTEAD OF 5 PASSENGER VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO COVER THEMSELVES LEGALLY REGARDLESS OF HOW IMPRACTICAL THEIR RECOMMENDED ACTION IS.
TAKATA RECALL APRIL 8TH I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO HONDA FOR A REPAIR DUE TO THE RECALL, RECEIVED A RENTAL. JULY 13TH RAY PRICE HONDA SERVICED THE CAR AND FIXED THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG JULY 17TH THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WAS NOT FIX AND THE PART WOULD NOT BE IN TILL A LATER DATE. *** THIS WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO ME UNTIL MY DRIVERS SIDE WAS FIXED AND RAY PRICE TOLD ME I HAD TO TURN IN THE RENTAL VEHICLE PER HONDA AND BRING THE CAR BACK INTO SERVICE AT A LATER DATE JULY 17TH I CALLED HONDA AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. I STATED THAT I AM EXTREMELY UPSET AND THAT IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO BE GIVEN A VEHICLE THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT IS COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE THAT HONDA IS WILLING TO PUT POTENTIAL PASSENGERS AT RISK IN THE CAR KNOWING THE AIRBAGS CAUSED PRIOR INJURY AND EVEN DEATH. I AM EXTREMELY ANGRY THAT HONDA IS ASKING ME TO ALSO ACCEPT LIABILITY OF HAVING A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT BECAUSE OF THIS RECALLED ITEM. IF SOMEONE IS IN MY CAR AND IS HURT OR DIES I AM RESPONSIBLE AND THE COURT SYSTEM COULD PROVE NEGLIGENCE ON MY BEHALF. ***FOR WORK OVER THE SUMMER I TRANSPORT CHILDREN TO DIFFERENT ACTIVES AND NOT USING THE FRONT SEAT IS NOT AN OPTION WHEN I HAVE A FULL CAR LOAD. TAKATA RECALL: WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH. CALLED SERVICE AND TOLD TO CALL BACK IN THE SUMMER. WE CALLED IN EARLY JULY AND WERE TOLD 1 BAG WOULD BE A WEEK OR TWO AND THE OTHER BAG WOULD BE SEVERAL MONTHS. CALLED BACK ON 7.16 AND WE ARE NOW BEING TOLD IT WILL BE AT LEAST ANOTHER MONTH. WHEN A RECALL IS EXECUTED, THE PARTIES INVOLVED SHOULD BE PREPARED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY. THERE SHOULD BE A PLAN.

RECALL CAME OUT FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK BECAUSE THE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR CYCLES UP AND DOWN WHEN TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR. IT WAS REPLACED BUT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM HAPPENED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS THE PASSENGER DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED. WAS CHARGED FOR REPLACEMENT AND HONDA SERVICE STATED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK DID NOT HAVE A RECALL DESPITE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS STATED IN THE RECALL.
IN 2008 HONDA CR-V, I HAVE NOTICED SINCE JULY 2016, THAT PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS (FRONT AND REAR) AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ALSO, WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED, THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE USING KEY AND NO MANUAL LOCK OPTION IS AVAILABLE. DISCUSSED THIS PROBLE M WITH HONDA DEALER A FEW TIMES AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR PROBLEM. I HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. IN BEGINNING OF 2015, AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HONDA DEALER AND AT THAT TIME ONLY DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK WAS COVERED (NOT OTHER THREE DOOR LOCKS). DEALER IS STATING THAT I MUST PAY FOR DIAGONISIS AND REPAIRS. ITEM 3 OF LETTER I RECEIVED FROM HONDA IN 2015 DID NOT SPECIFICALLY STATES: "IF A DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON YOUR CR-V MALFUNCTIONS, YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPAIRS UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRENTY WITHOUT CHARGE AT AN AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALER..." THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN SINCE MY ABILITY TO LOCK THE CAR AT ALL TIMES (WHEN REQUIRED) IS COMPROMISED DUE TO MALFUNCTIONING PARTS INSTALLED IN 2008 HONDA CR-V.
TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL 16V-346 WE GOT A LETTER FROM HONDA IN JULY SAYING THAT PARTS FOR THE RECALL "WILL BECOME AVAILABLE IN LATE SUMMER/FALL OF 2016." IT IS NOW MID-DECEMBER AND RECENT CALLS TO BOTH HONDA OF AMERICA AND MY LOCAL DEALER YIELDED NO RESULTS. IN THE MEANTIME, WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT SINCE JULY! THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY AND CAME TO A STOP AGAINST A SIGN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE AND PLACED THE GEAR INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN MARCH 2016 ANNOUNCING A RECALL ON THE TAKATA RECALL. TODAY I CONTACTED MILE HIGH HONDA IN DENVER, CO TO MAKE A REPAIR APPOINTMENT. I WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE UNTIL DECEMBER 2016. THIS IS FAR BEYOND THE 60 DAY REQUIREMENT SPECIFIED IN THE RECALL LETTER. THE MILE HIGH HONDA SERVICE ADVISOR JUST READ A DOCUMENT IN THE PHONE AND COULD NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. I CALLED THE HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COULD NEVER GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE (CONTINUED HOLD AND ROLLOVER TO BEGINNING). THIS ISSUE COULD KILL ME AND HONDA IS NONRESPONSIVE.

I WILL BE SHUTTLED TO ENTERPRISE TO SETTLE FOR A SEDAN, NOT SIMILAR TO MY VEHICLE AND HAVE TO PAY FOR HIGHER PRICED RENTAL. DEALER SAID "THEY CAN'T KEEP MY CAR AT LOT UNTIL AIRBAG IS REPLACED AND IT WILL HAVE TO BE STORED AT MY HOME."
