TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V061000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V346000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE DOOR MAKES A LOUD SOUND AS IT CYCLES BETWEEN LOCK AND UNLOCK, EVERY TIME THE DOORS ARE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT LOCK. SOMETIMES IT WILL LOCK. SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO UNLOCK. IT MAKES AWFUL NOISES EVERY TIME I LOCK THE DOORS. THE DRIVER'S DOOR WAS DOING THE SAME. HONDA CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR RECENTLY FOR FREE WHILE THE DRIVER'S SIDE TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATOR WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, HONDA REFUSES TO COVER THE COST OF THE MALFUNCTIONING PASSENGER SIDE LOCK ACTUATOR WHICH ALSO PRESENTS A HAZARD IF ALL LOCKS DO NOT UNLOCK EASILY DURING AN EMERGENCY. HONDA ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN IN 2015 EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO COVER THESE. BUT, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER LOCKS AT THE TIME SO NO REPAIRS WAS NEEDED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THE HONDA CR-V. IF THEY COVER REPLACEMENT FOR ONE, THEY SHOULD COVER REPLACEMENT FOR THE OTHER FOR SAFETY.
POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR NOT WORKING. IT DOES NOT LOCK AT ALL.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL IN THE SPRING. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED IN MAY FOR THE SERVICE. I WAS NOT CONTACTED AND WHEN I CALLED IN JUNE WAS TOLD THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PART. THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DISCONNECT THE AIR BAG PER THE LAW BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS! KNOWING THESE BAGS KILL , AN EXCEPTION SHOULD BE MADE OR THE PARTS MADE AVAILABLE QUICKLY. I AM A SMALL PERSON AND AIR BAGS FRIGHTEN ME TO BEGIN WITH BUT THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE EXAMPLE OF INCOMPETENCE. HONDA AMERICA IS NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE BY THE WAY. THE SAFETY RISK IS EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH IN THIS CASE AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO RECTIFY IT NOW.
TAKATA RECALLS - I CONTACTED HONDA DEALER IN FIRST WEEK OF MAY 2016 AND THEY DIDNT HELP. THEN I CONTACTED HONDA CUSTOMER CARE ON 16-MAY-2016 TO SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF AIRBAG INFLATORS. THEY HAVE NOT SCHEDULE ANY APPOINTMENT SINCE 15-MAY (MORE THAN 60 DAYS).
WE WERE TOLD BY A HONDA DEALER THAT THE STEERING RACK WAS LEAKING AND QUOTED ~ $1280 FOR THE REPAIR. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH CR-VS
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THREE MONTHS TO RECEIVE THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED WITH NO END IN SIGHT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE TO WAIT THIS LONG.

I HAD ISSUES WITH THE DOORLOCK ACTUATOR ON DRIVERS SIDE. I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY TOOK CARE OF IT AND ASSURED ME THEY WERE FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL. I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I HIT THE LOCK FOR ALL THE DOORS, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT LOCK. TODAY, I WAS AT THE GAS PUMP. TURNED OFF MY CAR, PUT IT IN PARK AND THE LOCKS WOULD NOT OPEN. I HAD TO MANUALLY OPEN MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR.

BOTH FRONT DOOR ACTUATORS WERE RECALLED AND I HAD FIXED. THE BACK DOORS AREN'T RECALLED, HOWEVER MY REAR LEFT ACTUATOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING. I FEEL THAT SINCE THE FRONT WAS RECALLED AND CLEARLY MALFUNCTIONING IN MY CAR THAT THE BACK SHOULD HAVE ALSO BEEN RECALLED.
TAKATA RECALL I DID NOT HAVE AN AIRBAG PROBLEM OTHER THAN I NEED IT REPLACED AND IT HAS TAKEN FAR TOO LONG NOW. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY AIRBAG TO BE REPLACED SINCE APRIL 12. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING RENTALS FOR 9 WEEKS AND I NEED MY CAR BACK. MY DEALER SAID HE'S TRIED CONTACTING HONDA CORPORATE THREE TIME BUT WITHOUT LUCK ON EXPEDITING THE PART. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING AND WILL BE GOING ON A MONTH-LONG ROAD TRIP IN ABOUT A WEEK AND HALF. I NEED MY CAR NOW! THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
DOOR LOCKS: 1ST - PASSENGER REAR DOOR LOCKS/ UNLOCKS AND MAKES BAD GEAR STRIPPING SOUND. SOMETIMES PASSENGER CAN'T GET OUT. 2ND - DRIVERS REAR DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. KIDS CAN OPEN DOOR WHILE IN MOTION PLUS NOW THIEVES CAN ENTER VEHICLE.

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, BRAKES STARTED TO VIBRATE & UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES IS IS A FAULTY ABS MODULE. THIS WAS AFTER NEW BRAKES HAD BEEN INSTALLED, NEW ROTORS, PAID TO HAVE THE BRAKE SYSTEM BLED TWICE (ABOUT $700). TO INSTALL A NEW ABS MODULE, THE COST IS $2,100 JUST FOR THE PART FROM HONDA. THE CAR IS NOW DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE PART. HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP FOREMAN INFORMED ME THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THESE CARS. IN ADDITION, I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT THERE IS A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL FOR THIS CAR IN MARCH, NOW IT IS APRIL AND THOSE NEW PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY THE DEALER YET. I HAVE A CAR SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE NOW 1) IT NEEDS A $2100 PART, WHICH THE SERVICE FOREMAN TELLS ME IS NOT GUARANTEED TO LAST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAULTY; AND 2) THERE IS AN AIRBAG PART THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE AT ANY DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE CHECKED; AND 3) THE FACTORY ALARM WILL NOT SET, I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED BY TWO HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
HONDA ISSUED A "NOTICE" ABOUT THE LOCKS MALFUNCTIONING ON THE CRV BUT THIS IS MORE OF A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT DESERVES A RECALL. IF YOU MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR THE "NOTICE" THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE YOUR LOCKS REPAIRED. THEY ARE LOCKING AND UNLOCKING BY THEMSELVES WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR MORE THAN ONE REASON. FOR ONE IT ALLOWS CHILDREN TO OPEN THE DOOR DUE TO IT NOT BEING LOCKED AND THEY COULD FALL OUT. IT ALSO ALLOWS FOR SOMEONE TO OPEN YOUR DOOR AND GET IN WITHOUT YOU HAVING CONTROL OVER IT. THE DOORS UNLOCK AT ANY RATE OF SPEED AND WILL NOT STAY LOCKED WHEN YOU RELOCK THEM. THIS IS ONLY FIXED BY HAVING THE LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED WHICH MANY PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD SINCE IT HAPPENS ON ALL 4 DOORS OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.

UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER LOCKS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANUALLY LOCK THE DOORS. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO FUNCTION AND COULD FRACTURE. I HAVE CALLED 2 DIFFERENT LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIPS IN THE HARTFORD AREA AND BOTH HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK IN REGARDS TO GETTING A RENTAL VEHICLE OR RECEIVING THE AIRBAGS FOR THE RECALL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR KNOWING THERE IS A DEFECT. *TR

TAKATA RECALL. I TOOK OUR CAR IN TO HAVE THE AIRBAG REPAIRED. MOISES AT OUR ALHAMBRA HONDA DEALER SAID THE BAGS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE TILL MID-SUMMER. WE HAVE TWO OPTIONS HE SAID, EITHER WE COULD TAKE A "FREE" RENTAL FROM THEM, WHICH WILL COST MY DAUGHTER $12 PER DAY TO INSURE, OR SHE COULD CONTINUE TO RISK HER LIFE BY DRIVING THE VEHICLE TILL THE PARTS COME. EITHER WAY, THEY WANT US TO SIGN A WAIVER THAT ABSOLVES THEM FROM ANY LIABILITY SHOULD THINGS GO WRONG. I FIND IT HARD TO GET MY HEAD AROUND THE FACT THAT I SHOULD PAY HONDA OR TAKATA ANYTHING FOR KEEPING MY DAUGHTER OUT OF HARMS WAY. I NEED TO KNOW FROM YOU IF NHTSA HAS SIGNED OFF ON THIS DISINGENUOUS "RESCUE PACKAGE" THAT HONDA HAS DEVISED TO SHIRK THEIR LIABILITY. I ASKED TO HAVE A "CASE MANAGER" FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WAS ASSIGNED ONE. HOWEVER NO CASE MANAGER HAS EVER CALLED ME DESPITE SIX SEPARATE CALLS TO REQUEST TO SPEAK TO ONE. I HAVE ALSO CALLED MULTIPLE TIMES TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER AND HAVE BEEN PROMISED ONE WILL CALL ME BACK BY THAT DAY. AFTER OVER A WEEK AND MULTIPLE REQUESTS, STILL NOT ONE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE HAS RETURNED MY CALL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH AN UNSAFE CAR FROM HONDA AND THEY HAVE IGNORED MY REPEATED REQUESTS TO HAVE A CASE MANAGER TO HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE. ALSO, THEY OFFERED ME A RENTED CAR FOR ONLY UP TO $35.00 A DAY - HOWEVER FOR THAT BUDGET IT IS A SMALL COMPACT CAR THAT CANNOT FIR MY CAR SEATS. I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALER SERVICE MANAGER AND TOLD THEM WITH THAT BUDGET I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A CAR THAT WILL FIT MY CAR SEATS - HE SAID THAT'S THE BUDGET AND HONDA WILL NOT PAY A PENNY MORE. SO NOW BECAUSE OF THIS HONDA RECALL, I HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA $10.00 A DAY TILL THEY GET THIS PART - SOMETIME IN SUMMER 2016!!! NOT ONLY DID HONDA NOT EVEN HAVE THEIR "CASE MANAGER" OR MANAGER RETURN A CONCERNED CONSUMERS REQUEST TO TALK TO SOMEONE AFTER LEAVING MULTIPLE MESSAGES, BUT NOW THIS RECALL IS COSTING ME MONEY. TOOK CAR TO HONDA FOR ROUTINE SERVICE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE STEERING RACK WAS LEAKING AND "THE FLUID IS HIGHLY COMBUSTIBLE". WE WERE QUOTED ~ $1280 FOR THE REPAIR. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH CR-VS.
