The car needs a major alignment out of nowhere, swereves to the right. Also problems with the transmission.
ONE COLD WINTER MORNING, MY ENGINE LIGHT, POWER TRAIN AND STEERING WHEEL WARNING SIGNS ALL TURNED ON. I HAD CHECKED MY OIL AND IT WAS STILL 40% FULL. I STARTED NOTICING THAT THE CAR WAS MOVING SLOW NOT MORE THAN 20MPH. ALSO THE GAS GALLON INDICATOR WENT FROM 36MPG TO 20MPG. IT IS BURNING WAY MORE GAS THAN IT WAS. I STARTED RESEARCHING AND FOUND OUT THAT OTHER CONSUMERS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M WRITING THIS BECAUSE I WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEIR HONDA CR-V MODEL. I KNOW IT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO BE DRIVING THE CAR AROUND ESPECIALLY IN THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR MOVES SLOWER THAN IT USUALLY DOES. IT WOULDN'T BE SAFE FOR ME TO BE DRIVING IT AT ALL TILL WE GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.
HONDA PAINT IS STRIPPING RIGHT OFF THE BODY. HONDA PAINT IS FADING AND LOSING METALLIC FINISH. HONDA PAINT HAS OTHER RECALLS BUT NOT MY MAKE AND MODEL.
THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND SHAKES UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD GEARS.
WHEN STARTING COLD, AS SITTING OVERNIGHT, TURN KEY ,GRINDING NOISE FROM ENGINE, ONLY TIME IT HAPPENS
MY COMPLAINT IS THAT HONDA IS REFUSING TO COVER THE COSTS OF KNOWN PROBLEMS IN THEIR VEHICLES. THE ISSUE IS THE VCT ACTUATOR WHICH RESULTS IN A VERY LOUD METALLIC RATTLING ON A COLD START. I HAVE HAD THE VCT ACTUATOR REPLACED TWO TIMES. THEY DIDN'T WANT TO COVER THE SECOND TIME AS IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT THE DEALER FINALLY DID. IT THEN OF COURSE HAPPENED AGAIN. I ALSO HAD A SECOND KNOWN PROBLEM, (JUTTERING, WHICH IS A VIBRATION/SHAKING WHILE DRIVING/ACCELERATING AT LOWER SPEEDS) WHICH THEY FIXED ONCE, AGAIN, IT ALSO CAME BACK. LAST YEAR THE DRIVE SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND NOW ONCE AGAIN, THE VCT ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AGAIN, THIS IS A KNOWN HONDA PROBLEM THAT THEY REFUSE TO FIX AT THEIR EXPENSE. THIS HAS AFFECTED A LOT OF PEOPLE, JUST READ THE MESSAGE BOARDS WHICH ARE FULL OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO EITHER LIVE WITH THE RIDICULOUSLY LOUD RATTLING OR CONTINUE TO PAY TO REPAIR A FAULTY ITEM WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM! I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. I HAVE OWNED HONDAS FOR YEARS, NEVER AGAIN! BASICALLY I AM STUCK WITH A NOISY CAR THAT SHAKES WITH ACCELERATION AND I EITHER KEEP PAYING TO FIX IT OR LIVE WITH IT. NEITHER IS ACCEPTABLE AND HONDA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THE DATE I LISTED IS 10/27/20 BUT THESE ISSUES GO BACK FURTHER, TODAY WAS JUST THE FINAL STRAW FOR ME... I WILL ALSO BE CONTACTING HONDA ALTHOUGH IT CLEARLY WON'T DO ANY GOOD....
HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 17-040. HONDA DEALER IS REFUSING TO FIX THE ISSUE, STATING MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. CAR IS 2013 WITH 56K. SHOULD BE COVERED BY THIS BULLETIN, AND HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEALER IS REFUSING SERVICE COVERAGE. THE CAR VIOLENTLY SHAKES IF NOT FULLY ACCELERATING BETWEEN 20-30 MPH.
IN LOW ACCELERATION VEHICLE SHUDDERS, I NEED TO EITHER I NEED TO CHANGE THE GEAR TO D3 OR NEED TO TAKE OUT MY LEG FROM SPEEDING PEDDLE. IT IS VERY ANNOYING. I TRIED WITH ECO MODE OFF AS WELL, STILL THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS HAPPENING FROM SEVERAL YEARS.
A SURGE, VIBRATION, OR JUDDER MAY BE FELT WHILE DRIVING UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION
Transmission jerks at 30 to 40 miles per hour and at 40 miles per hour i experience high vibration within the car. I know of 3 other people with a 2012 and 2013 CR-V with the same problems.
MY GEAR SHIFTER MOVES FORWARD WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE SIDE RELEASE WITH MINIMAL FORCE. I AM CONCERNED THAT A CHILD OR SOMEONE REACHING ACROSS CONSOLE COULD PUT THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR. THIS HAS ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING WHEN I PRESSED THE SHIFTER INADVERTENTLY WITH MINIMAL FORCE,. MY VEHICLE REPORT STATES THAT THERE ARE NO UNREPAIRED ITEMS WHEN I CHECKED NHTSA WHICH PROMPTED MY REPORT,
HAD VTC REPLACED SEVERAL YEARS BACK DUE TO IT BEING DEFECTIVE, AND THE REPLACEMENT IS SHOWING IDENTICAL DEFECT THIS YEAR IN 2020. THE LOUD RATTLING SYMPTOM OCCURS UPON START UP EVEN IF THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR ONLY AN HOUR. *TR
THE CAR SEEMS TO INTERMITTENTLY WOBBLE OR VIBRATE WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE HAD THE WHEELS TESTED AND PURCHASED NEW TIRES. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE DEALER UPGRADE THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE WHICH COSTS $250. THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. WE HAVE LESS THAN 90,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSION. I HAVE TESTED THIS OVER CLEAN, NEW ROADS AND THE VIBRATING CONTINUES. THIS HAS CONTINUED FOR MONTHS. *TR
ENGINE RATTLES AT STARTUP, VTC ACTUATOR, AFRAID THAT THIS WILL LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME WE START THE VEHICLE. *TR
EVERY TIME MY CAR ACCELERATES IT SHAKES AND SPUTTERS AS IF IT IS GOING TO SHUT OFF UNTIL I REACH A SPEED OVER 20 MPH. THIS HAPPENS AT THE INITIAL START OF A DRIVE AND ANY TIME I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
VEHICLE STATIONARY. VARIABLE TIMING CHAIN ACTUATOR (VTC ACTUATOR) STARTED TO GRIND UPON ENGINE STARTS AT 90K. HAD THE VTC REPLACED FOR $700 AND WITHIN A YEAR IT FAILED AGAIN CAUSING THE SAME GRINDING NOISE UPON ENGINE STARTS. DEALER THEN REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN AND TENSIONERS FOR $1200 SAYING THAT WAS THE ISSUE CAUSING THE NOISE. NEXT MORNING THE CAR IS MAKING THE SAME GRINDING NOISE. TOOK BACK TO DEALER BUT APPARENTLY THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE SOUND. VIDEO RECORDED THE SOUND TO SEND THEM. HONDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE: TSB 16-012 I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2013 AND HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT HONDA. I SPENT OVER $2000 TRYING TO HAVE THIS FIXED AT THE DEALER AND THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED. I WANT TO SELL THIS VEHICLE BUT CAN'T ALLOW SOMEONE ELSE TO BUY A DEFECTIVE CAR.
THE HEATER BLOWS COLD ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND WARM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE AND FOR WHATEVER REASON, IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. THIS IS GOING TO COST ME A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX AND IT'S VERY DISAPPOINTING SINCE IT IS A WIDELY KNOWN ISSUE. WE BOUGHT A HONDA FOR THE DEPENDABILITY AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS MAY BE THE LAST.
Front wheel bearings wore out at approximately 50,000 miles. Steering became difficult and the bearings produced a lot of noise. Both front wheels affected. Dealer replaced bearings and no problems since.
TORQUE CONVERTER ON TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT 66,000 MILES ALTHOUGH SYSTEMS HAVE EXISTED FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS, BUT JUST NOW DIAGNOSED
MY CRV STARTS MAKING NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATE THE CAR. IT ONLY HAPPENS AT THE LOW SPEED.
THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR ON THE PASSENGER REAR TIRE WERE DESTROYED IN LESS THAN 2,000 MILES AND REPLACED WITH NEW PARTS TWICE FROM DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS. A THIRD SET OF ROTOR AND BRAKE PADS AND A CALIPER WAS INSTALLED AND THEY FAILED WITHIN 2 WEEKS. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 78,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE CALIPER, PADS, AND ROTOR AT 35,000 MILES FOR A SIMILAR PROBLEM.
SEAT BELTS ARE FRAYING ON PASSENGER SIDE
LAST WINTER, MY CAR WOULD MAKE A RATTLING NOISE EVERY TIME I STARTED THE CAR. I READ ONLINE THAT DURING COLD WEATHER, THIS COULD HAPPEN. NOW THE SPRING AND SUMMER HAVE GONE BY AND THE RATTLING STILL CONTINUES EVERY TIME I START MY CAR AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN IDLE FOR A LITTLE BIT. I HAVE FURTHER READ THAT THE VTC ACTUATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, I AM STILL SEEING REPORTS THAT THE RATTLING REAPPEARS AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS EVEN AFTER REPLACING IT. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE FREE TO REPLACE (VS PAYING 800 DOLLARS) CONSIDERING IT DOESN'T GUARANTEE TO FIX THE ISSUE.
LOUD WHINE, DRIVESHAFT REPLACED
THE HEAT FROM THE DRIVER SIDE IS LOWER THAN THE HEAT FROM THE FRONT MIDDLE AND PASSANGER SIDE VENT. A SERVICE BULLETIN HAS BEEN CREATED FOR THIS SB 14-063. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS VERY UNSAFE. THE DRIVER SIDE BLOWS COLD AIR NOT HOT AT ALL AND THE DEFORESTER DOES NOT WORK. N OW THAT IT IS WINTER IT IS IMPACTS VISIBILITY AND IS DANGEROUS.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS HOLDING THE MOVEMENT OF CAR, MY FRIEND IS A MECHANIC AND TOLD ME ITS THE TRANSMISSION.THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CARE IS IN MOTION
I STARTED MY CRV ON 10/23/19 AND STARTED ON MY WAY TO WORK. WHEN I GOT ABOUT 200 YARDS I NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LIGHTS WERE. I CALLED SCHLOSSMANN HONDA CITY MILWAUKEE, WI, ASKED FOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID I WANTED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I EXPLAINED WHAT LIGHTS WERE ON THE DASH AND INDICATED THEY JUST CAME ON THIS MORNING. THEY SAID THAT I COULD DROP OFF THE CAR THAT AFTERNOON. DROPPED OFF CAR ON 10/23/19 AT 3:45PM. LEFT JESSICA LANGE CALLED ME BACK AT 5:00PM AND TOLD ME THE TIMING BELT HAD TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE IT WAS STRETCHED. THIS HAPPENS. COST TO HAVE THIS DONE WAS $1988.34. I ONLY HAVE 50988 MILES ON MY CRV. THE COST WAS OUTRAGEOUS. I AM 58 AND HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A TIMING CHAIN WITH THIS FEW MILES. I THINK THIS IS RIDICULOUS. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE HONDA NEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM IN PREVIOUS MODELS AND NEVER FIXED IT. I DO LOVE MY HONDA BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE AND WILL GET RID OF THIS ONE BEFORE I REACH 100,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY THE REPLACEMENT TIMING CHAIN WILL LAST THAT LONG.
CAR STUTTERS AT LOW SPEEDS (APPROX 20-30MPH). THIS COULD CAUSE A COLLISION IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE AS EXPECTED.
TRANSMISSION JERKS BETWEEN 25 TO 30 MPH. THIS HAPPENS WITH EVER TAKE OFF. IT HAPPEN WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP OR IF I HAVE SLOWED DOWN BELOW 25 MPH AND AS I EXHILARATE THE TRANSITION JERKS BETWEEN 25 TO 30 MPH.
SINCE 2013 I HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR PASSENGERS SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT INTERMITTENT, THIS OCCURS AT ANY TIME SITTING , DRIVING ON SIDE ROADS, HIGHWAY AT ANY SPEED. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. IT COULD COME ON TODAY AND NOT HAPPEN FOR A DAY OR SO.THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM AND AFTER REPLACING THE SEAT FRAME AND SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR IT IS STILL COMING ON. NEED YOUR HELP IN GETTING A FIX AS MY WIFE IS SCARED WHEN IN THE CAR.THE LAST WORD FROM HONDA CARE IS THIS IS NORMAL, IF THIS IS TRUE THEN ALOT OTHER HONDA CRVS SHOULD BE HAVING THIS ISSUE. MY WIFE IS 5'2 AND WEIGHTS MORE THEN 65LBS OR 29 KILOS SO THAT ANSWER WON'T HOLD UP. TALKING WITH DEALERSHIP IN JAPAN THEY SUGGEST REPLACING THE SRS AS THIS CAN CAUSE A PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT TO COME ON. I/AM WILLING TO GO HIGHER UP THE CHAIN FOR A FIX WHAT EVER IT MY BE AS I DO NOT BELIEVE MY CAR IS THE ONLY ONE WITH IS PROBLEM. I HAVE RECORDS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 6 YEARS.
VEHICLE SHAKES AND STUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING BETWEEN 0-30 MPH, WHICH IS APPARENTLY A KNOWN AND COMMON ISSUE.
THE CRV EXHIBITS A LOUD RATTLE FROM THE VALVE COVER. THE NOISE COMES ON EVERYTIME THE AC COMPRESSOR KICKS ON. DEALER REPLACED VTC ACTUATOR WITH NO RESULTS. THEN DEALER REPLACED AUTO BELT TENSIONER WITH NO RESULTS. NOISE IS LOUD AND TURNS PEOPLES HEADS AS I BACK UP OR TAKE OFF. IVE READ MANY SIMILAR STORIES FROM OTHER CRV OWNERS. DEALERS UNABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
STEERING LOCKED WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 HONDA CRV. MY CAR IS KEPT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND ON 07-28-19 DRIVING DOWN MY STREET AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. ALSO DRIVERS WINDOW STOPPED GOING UP AND DOWN. THEN STARTED AGAIN. DROVE FEW MORE FEET AND STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN. CAR WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET ON A STRAIT STREET NO TURNING. CAR HAD BE BE TOWED TO SERVICE.
LOW BEAMS DO NOT REMAIN ON WHEN HIGH BEAMS ARE ACTIVATED, LEAVING POOR VISIBILITY NEAR THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE.
VTC ACTUATOR FAILS, STARTS A RATTLE AT COLD START WHICH CAUSES INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION AND STRETCHING OF THE TIME CHAIN. COSTS THOUSANDS TO REPLACE AND HONDA REFUSES TO ISSUE RECALL EVEN AFTER 100S OF COMPLAINTS.
WHEN CAR IS IDLE OVERNIGHT OR LONG PERIODS, STARTING THE CAR, THERE IS A LOUD NOISE WHEN TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD HONDA IS NOTORIOUS FOR THIS PROBLEM. WAS TOLD IT'S THE VTC ACTUATOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 20 TO 30 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK DURING ACCELERATION. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE AXLE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIORITY HONDA (621 N BATTLEFIELD BLVD, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320, (757) 213-6600) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER SPECULATED THAT THE AXLE COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DURING LIGHT ACCELERATION THERE WAS A SHUDDERING AROUND 20-30 MPH. IT LESSENED AFTER I DECELERATED. IT CONTINUED FOR AROUND 8 MONTHS OR LONGER. I HAD IT CHECKED BY A NEARBY MECHANIC. HE PRINTED OFF SOME INFORMATION TO HAVE THE SOFTWARE UPDATED AND TO TAKE IT THE A HONDA DEALER. I CALLED THE CLOSEST, DEALERSHIP FOR AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, COSTING ME $120 AND THEN PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD REPLACE THE FLUIDS EVEN BEFORE I EXPLAINED THE ISSUE. AFTER 3 1/12 HRS AND OVER $500 DOLLARS I WAS ON MY WAY HOME. BREAKDOWN ON THE BILL. LABOR AMT $490 PARTS $69.14 AND OF COURSE $39.13 TAX. I FEEL THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY OWNERS OF HONDA CR-V HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT HONDA HAVE NOT STEPPED UP AND TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE, IF I HAVE ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH THE SHUDDERING I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA, EVER. I OWNED A HONDA CIVIC AND HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THAT CAR FOR AS LONG AS I HAD IT. SO TIME WILL TELL IF THE ISSUE IS COMPLETELY SOLVED. ALSO, THEY WANTED TO REPLACE MANY ITEMS THAT WAS NOT THE REASON FOR MY VISIT.
PASSENGER AIR BAGS INDICATOR SHOWS OFF EVEN WHEN THE SEAT IS WEIGHED BY A PERSON.
THIS LIGHTING OF THIS VEHICLE IS POOR. THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS SEEM ADEQUATE, BUT THE HI-BEAM LIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. COMPARED TO OTHER CARS, THE HI-BEAMS ARE DIM. REPLACING THE BULBS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, THE NEW BULBS DO NOT IMPROVE THE LIGHTING.. THIS DEFECT IS MORE APPARENT IN RURAL SETTINGS, IN AREAS WHERE OUTSIDE LIGHTING IS MINIMAL/NONE. IT CAN BE DANGEROUS WHERE DEER/WILDIFE ARE COMMON, AS THE REDUCED LIGHTING LIMITS REACTION TIME. SEARCHES ON AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS REVEAL THIS PROBLEM SEEMS COMMON AMONG 4TH GENERATION HONDA CRV'S (2011-2016), AS IT SEEMS IT IS MENTIONED ON NUMEROUS FORUMS AND TOPIC THREADS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK UNCONTROLLABLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHERE ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED; A TIRE ROD WAS REPLACED; THE WHEELS WERE BALANCED AND ALIGNED; AND THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED. DESPITE THE NUMEROUS REPAIRS, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT THEN SPOKE WITH HAGERSTOWN HONDA (10307 AUTO PL, HAGERSTOWN, MD 21740) ABOUT THE FAILURE AND WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT ANY REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE WOULD BE AT HER OWNS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
WATER LEAKAGE FROM THE TOP OF THE ROOF TO THE BOTTOM OF THE REAR BUMPER. WATER POOLED IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL AND SLOSHED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING WETTING THE CARPET AND THE BACK SEATS AS I HAD THEM FOLDED DOWN. THE SEAL WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE AT MANUFACTURER. I HAD IT REPAIRED BUT HONDA WOULD NOT REIMBURSE FOR THE DAMAGE. I DID NOT REALIZE THIS HAD HAPPENED AS I DON'T SIT IN THE BACK SEATS. THE CARPET AND SEATS HAVE SOURED, MOLDED AND MILDEWED. I RESEARCHERED ON LINE TO SEE IF OTHERS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND SEVERAL HAVE AND NOT JUST THE 2013 MODELS. HONDA HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NOT RECALLED NOR FIXED THE PROBLEM.
THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWS HOT AIR. I TOOK IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT IT IS COOLING CORRECTLY. CHECK AIR SYSTEM STATED NOTHING IS WRONG. I AM ASTHMATIC PATIENT AND THIS CAUSE ME TO HAVE ASTHMA ATTACKS
MY GAS PEDAL GOT STUCK WHILE STARTING THE CAR. THE CAR REVVED SO LOUD AND FAST UNTIL BLUISH SMOKED FILLED THE INSIDE OF THE CAR AND CAME OUT THE TAIL PIPE. GOOD THING THE CAR WAS IN PARK. THE PEDAL RELEASED ON IT'S OWN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I SEE THAT OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING. AFTER TAKING THEIR VEHICLE IN, THEY WERE TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND AN ISSUE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT AT THE SHOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
I HAVE A 2013 HONDA CRV AT ABOUT 65,000 MILES. THE VSA, EPS, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH WHILE IDLE AND WOULD NOT PICK UP AFTER STOPPING. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND NOTATED THAT IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE FOR THE TIMING CHAIN TO STRETCH. I HAVE BEEN METICULOUS ABOUT MAINTENANCE ON MY VEHICLE. NOTABLY TIMING CHAINS SHOULD LAST THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE ENGINE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND BEEN ADVISED THAT INDEED THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE VTC ACTUATOR (NOTABLY ANOTHER COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE MODELS). THE PRICE TO FIX THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS CONSIDERING THE LOW MILES AND METICULOUS MAINTANCE BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. I BELIEVE AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO COMPLETED AS THIS ISSUE CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR ENGINE WITH LITTLE TO NO WARNING THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG.
THE AWD SENSOR LIGHT IS COMING ON DUE TO THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE PRESSURE SENSOR. OTHER 2013 AND 2012 MODELS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL
ENGINE RATTLES AT EARLY MORNING START UP , HONDA AWARE OF VTC ACTUATOR DEFAULT AND NEEDS TO OPEN A RECALL CASES TO ALL CRV MADE BETWEEN 2012-2014. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE CAM SHAFTS, AND DRIVE BELT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE CONTROL ARMS AND TIRES. ALL MT DASH LIGHTS HAVE COME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE CAR SHAKES AND IS SCARY TO DRIVE. THIS CAR HAS SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE CONTROL ARMS IN THE SUSPENSION AND ACCELERATION ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY CONSUMERS. WHEN DOES SOMEONE DECIDE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN A CAR HAS TIRE, ACCELERATION, OR ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO SHOW THEY CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER SAFETY. THERE ARE MANY ISSUES WITH THE HONDA CR-V PLEASE ADDRESS THE SERIOUS ONES.
ENGINE MAKES LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTING COLD SIMILAR TO WHAT OTHERS HAVE DESCRIBED AS THE VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEM. CAR HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. FYI.....THIS IS MY SECOND HONDA CR-V.....I TRADED IN THE LAST ONE AT 78,000 MILES WHEN IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING!!!
BACK PASSENGER DOOR WON'T UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DOOR. ALL PASSENGERS HAVE TO GET OUT FROM DRIVERS SIDE. SAFETY CONCERN. JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE 07/15/18
