The car periodically shudders during acceleration on smooth road services over the last 2 years. Initially, I thought the vibration was due to changes in road surface. However, I notice the vibration or shuddering occurs with acceleration-in 2nd or 3rd gear. When I take my foot off the gas pedal, the vibration/shuddering disappears. Other family members were telling me this is a transmission problem when this problem first occurred. On Honda vehicle blogs, I see this complaint is echoed by other 2013 Honda CRV owners. I contacted Honda today. They told me there is no national campaign or recall for my vehicle regarding this issue. They will create a case for this complaint but at this time, they will not offer me assistance with the repair. CRV's from other model years have had this issue and recalls were initiated. Please offer me the same support from Honda for the same problem. Years ago, we had a 1991 Honda Accord that developed a transmission problem. We arranged for the repair of the transmission. Years later we found out there was a recall for the same issue for which we were not notified. After many calls and letters, Honda eventually reimbursed us for that repair. Please assist us with our current problem. Thank you.
I PURCHASED AT 2013 HONDA CRV FROM POHANKA IN SALISBURY MD WITH 30K MILES. THE OTHER DAY I NOTICED MY DRIVER SIDE VENTS WERE BLOWING COLD AIR WITH THE HEAT ON.I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE HEATER CORE AND WAS GOING TO COST ME 400$ I PURCHASED BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY ON THIS VEHICLE WHICH SHOULD COVER THAT EXPENSIVE BUT DOESN'T. I'VE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS PARTICULAR MODEL HAS A TSB 14-063 WHICH STATES A FACTORY DEFECT.FACTORY! MANY CRV CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM AND IT HAS YET TO BECOME A SAFETY RECALL.I CAN NOT DEFROST MY WINDSHIELD DURING COLD TEMPERATURES OR FOG/HUMIDITY,THAT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM TO ME AND MANY OTHERS WHO OWN THIS MODEL.IVE OWNED PROBABLY 15 HONDAS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A HEATER CORE PROBLEM ESPECIALLY AT 30KMILES.I, NOR SHOULD ANYONE HAVE TO PAY FOR A FACTORY MISHAP.THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS MODEL NEEDS TO BE PASSED AS A SAFETY RECALL IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS IN AN ACCIDENT.ITS NOT A IF IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN ITS WHEN.I'VE READ ATLEAST 100 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM AND CANT UNDERSTANDS WHY HONDA WONT OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!
TSB 14-063 CODE. AFFECTS THE HEATING ELEMENT. IN MY INSTANCE, IT DOES NOT BLOW HOT AIR AT ALL. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HONDA AND THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL. THIS COULD BE QUITE DANGEROUS IF IN COLD, INCLEMENT WEATHER. HEATER NEVER SWITCHES TO HOT AIR.
THE ABS MODULE STOPPED FUNCTIONING FOR BRAKES AND AIRBAGS. THE DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY HAS THE CAR AND DOES NOT KNOW WHY IT MALFUNCTIONED. THEIR EXPLANATION IS THAT THE ABS MODULE WENT BAD AND IT IS NOT DRIVABLE BECAUSE THE BRAKES MIGHT LOCK AND POSSIBLY SET OFF THE AIRBAGS. I AM CONCERNED THIS MAY EFFECT OTHER VEHICLES AS IT IS A COSTLY FIX. THE BILL IS CURRENTLY $2,400 AND THEY ARE UNSURE IF THAT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM, OR IF IT WILL COST MORE MONEY TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE.
FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS THE ENGINE MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WHEN I START IT. MOSTLY IN COLDER WEATHER. I'VE DISCUSSED THIS WITH ANOTHER HONDA CR-V OWNER AND THE SAME THING STARTED HAPPENING WITH THEM.
DRIVER ON HIGHWAY WHEN CHECK ENGINE, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR AND EPS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE CAR LOST POWER AND DRIVER PULLED OFF TO SIDE. CHECKED CAR, RESTARTED CAR BUT WOULD NOT GO OVER 20MPH. CAR TOWED AND MECHANIC REPORTED #4 SPARK PLUG OIL FOULED, BUT NO PSI IN #4 CYLINDER. TOWED TO DEALER BUT PROBLEM NOT FIXED AND ENGINE NOT RUNNING. DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY HELP.
DRIVERS SIDE VENTS BLOWS COLD AIR WHEN HEAT IS ON. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE IS APPROXIMATE 30 DEGREES.

MAKES CRATING SOUND WHEN IT IS COLD STARTED
THE VTC ACTUATOR MAKES NOISE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME.
I OWN A 2013 HONDA CR-V WAS VERY HAPPY WITH MY CAR UNTIL MY RECENT FLAT TIRE. DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT THE TPMS (LOW TIRE SENSOR) IS CONNECTED TO THE BRAKES? ME NEITHER. RECENTLY I HAD FLAT TIRE AND HAD THE SPARE PUT ON UNTIL I COULD GET IT REPLACED. ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS TO THE WEEKEND TO WAIT, SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF OF WORK. HAD THE TIRE FIXED AND ALL WAS GOOD; TPMS WARNING LIGHT OFF. WELL, THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. ABOUT THREE DAYS LATER MY BRAKES STARTED FAILING AS I WAS DRIVING. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND JERKING OF THE CAR WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES. I SLOWED TO ABOUT 15-20MPH AND IT STABILIZED THE CAR. I SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWL AND HAPPENED TO BE A COUPLE OF BLOCKS FROM A DEALER WHICH IS ON MY WAY TO WORK. GOT THE CAR THERE WITHOUT INCIDENT AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THE RESULT AFTER THEIR INSPECTION AND FIXING MY CAR WAS: FAULTY TPMS SENSOR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE TPMS SENSOR FAILED WHICH CAUSED MY BRAKES TO GO OUT...WHAT, THE TPMS SENSOR IS CONNECTED TO MY BREAKS. SO. WHAT YOUR TELLING ME, MR. DEALER, IS THAT IF ONE OF FOUR TPMS SENSORS GOES OUT, THE BRAKES ON MY CAR WILL FAIL. WHAT THE HELL HONDA. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED. NO ONLY DID MY BRAKES FAIL BECAUSE OF THE TPMS BUT THE DEALER CHARGED ME $500 TO REPLACE THIS SENSOR WHICH RUNS ON A BATTERY AND IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN AT ANY TIME X4, BECAUSE I HAVE FOUR TIRES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. THER CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRANNON HONDA (300 GADSDEN HWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35235) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINES PUNCTURED AND LEAKED FUEL INTO ENGINE BAY AND ONTO TOP OF FUEL TANK.THIS WAS 2 SEPERATED INCINDENCES.PROBABLE CAUSE WAS BY SQUIRRELS.VERY DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE REPAIR. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT MY RESIDENCE.DAMAGE DISCOVERD AS VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. COPST TO REPAIR LINE FROM TANK TO ENGINE BAY $679.91
THE HONDA CR-V 2013 WE PURCHASED ON 7/3/18 HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING A VIBRATION WHILE IN MOTION BETWEEN APROX 10 MPH -30 MPH. IT TOOK PLACE ON CITY, TOWN AND COUNTY ROADS WE HAVE NOT DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY YET. IT VIBRATES SIMILAR TO DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS IN THE HIGHWAY TO INFORM YOU OF LANE EDGES.IT SEEMS TO STOP IF YOU LET THE FOOT OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT IS SOMEWHAT UNNERVING AND CAN BE A LITTLE SCARY TO OUR YOUNG DRIVER.
VTC ACTUATOR ISSUE NHTSA SERVICE BULLETIN 16-012. THIS SHOULD BE A PRODUCT RECALL FROM HONDA. *TR
THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. THE CAR CONTINUALLY CHEWS UP TIRES ON THE REAR END OF THE CAR. FOR EXAMPLE, WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW SET OF TIRES IN JULY OF 2017, AND ALREADY THEY ARE CUPPED/CHOPPED. I HAD THE CAR INTO OUR LOCAL ALIGNMENT SHOP AS WE ARE PREPARING FOR A TRIP, AND LESS THAN 10,000 MILES LATER ARE SO OUT OF BALANCE THAT THEY ARE SHOWING SIGNS AND MAKING NOISE TO THE POINT OF I QUESTIONED WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I SUGGESTED THAT THEY DO A FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAMBER IS WAY OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AND THAT I NEEDED A CAMBER BOLT KIT. THE CAR ONLY HAS 84,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL CARED FOR AND NO ACCIDENTS. HERE IS THE BIGGEST ISSUE. THE CAR COMES STOCK WITH REAR CONTROL ARMS THAT ARE NON ADJUSTABLE. THERE IS NO WAY TO CONTROL CAMBER ON THE REAR WHEELS. THERE ARE ADJUSTABLE ONES THAT CAN BE PURCHASED, BUT THAT COSTS CONSUMERS A TON OF MONEY. $500 OR SO TOTAL THAT IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. THE OBVIOUS DANGER IS EXCESSIVE WEAR ON TIRES THAT POTENTIALLY COULD CAUSE BAD STEERING, BRAKING, AND/OR CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS FAR AS MY EXPERIENCE, I HAVE HAD TO BE EXTREMELY VIGILANT ABOUT MAKING SURE MY TIRES ARE NOT IN BAD SHAPE 100% OF THE TIME. THE DEALER HAS BASICALLY WALKED AWAY FROM IT, IN SPITE OF THE FACT I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH IS STILL IN EFFECT. I MY OPINION, THE HONDA CORPORATION SHOULD HAVE A RECALL THAT WOULD ADDRESS THE ISSUE BY REPLACING THE STOCK NONADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARM WITH AN ADJUSTABLE ONE. THIS COULD SAVE THEM A TON OF ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD AND MAKE THEIR CARS MUCH SAFER.
THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH SEVERAL THINGS IN THE CAR AT DIFFERENT INTERVALS.THE STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME "VSR INDICATOR", THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE ELECTRIC STEERING INDICATOR "EPS" LIGHTS CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY PROBLEMS WITH STEERING. WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION AND RESTARTED THE CAR ALL THE INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE OFF. THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK WHEN I FIRST STARTED THE CAR. AFTER I PULL OVER AND STOP AND RESTART THE CAR THE CRUISE WOULD START WORKING. WHEN FIRST START THE CAR IN THE MORNING THE RADIO WOULD BE ON BUT NO SOUND. IT WORKS WHEN I RESTART THE CAR. WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR ALL THE RADIO STATION PRESETS GET RESET TO "0" SOMETIMES. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE RADIO PRESETS AT "0" ON ANY CAR. TODAY THE STABILITY LIGHT AND STEERING WHEEL LIGHT IS ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL WORK FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. WHEN I RESTART THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL WORK AGAIN.
ENGINE RATTLES AT EARLY MORNING START UP , HONDA AWARE OF VTC ACTUATOR DEFAULT AND NEEDS TO OPEN A RECALL CASES TO ALL CRV MADE BETWEEN 2012-2014
THIS CAR DEVELOPED A MAJOR VIBRATION WHILE ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEEDS (AROUND 20-30 MPH) AROUND 65,000MILES. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND PASSENGERS CAN FEEL THE CAR "SHUDDER". I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED. THIS WAS DONE AND NOW AT 100,000 MILES THE VIBRATION IS BACK AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO REPAIR IT. STATES THE EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 80,000 MILES FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM BUT SINCE ITS OVER 100,000 IT WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET.
WHEN SPEEDS OF 65+ MPH ARE REACHED THE 2013 HONDA CR-V STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS MAKES THE RIDE VERY SCARY AND SEEM UNCONTROLLABLE AT TIMES. AS I HAVE READ ON MANY FORUMS, THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THESE VEHICLES. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS NOT HAD AN ANSWER TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING AND TOLD ME "THAT THIS IS A COMMON THING WITH CR-V'S". HONDA EVEN PUT OUT A VIDEO BASICALLY STATING THAT THEY FIXED THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR NEW LINE OF CR V'S IN 2017. I BELIEVE IT'S AN UNBALANCED DRIVE SHAFT, DUE TO FACT THAT THE TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED 3 TIMES, 2 ALIGNMENTS IN A 3 MONTH PERIOD AND A FRIEND OF MINE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT'S WHAT FIXED HIS ALONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE ON HONDA FORUMS STATING THE SAME ISSUES A STATED ABOVE AND REPAIR METHODS. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THESE VERY COMMON ISSUES.
Now, we have had two seat belts fray without explanation in our 2013 Honda CRV EX-L. In 2018, we contacted the local dealer about the first belt's issues and were told that the belt had been sliced. This determination was made without ever accessing the inside of the belt mechanism and likely was simply said to get rid of us. In 2022, a second seat belt started having the same problem, so we opened a case with American Honda in July 2022. Now, two case managers and three months after opening the case, we have been unable to obtain any true action from American Honda.
UPON LIGHT ACCELERATION ON A CITY STREET MY CAR VIBRATES QUITE STRONGLY AND FEELS AS THOUGH THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO ONLY HAPPEN AT LOW SPEEDS (10-35MPH). I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER WITH MY VIN# AND THEY DENY ANY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS VERY SAME ISSUE AND HOW HONDA IS UNWILLING TO ADDRESS OR FIX THE ISSUE. I HOPE HONDA ISSUE A RECALL SOON BECAUSE THIS AMOUNT OF VIBRATION MAKES ME FEEL AS IF THERE IS A LOT OF MECHANICAL WEAR HAPPENING WITH EVERY ACCELERATION AND THAT THE CAR COULD FAIL AT ANY MOMENT.
HEAVY VIBRATION IN GREAR WHEN COME TO A STOP ....FEELING VIBRATION ON THE SEAT...TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP SAY THEY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THER NO FIX FROM HONDA AT THIS TIME....DEALER STATE LOT OF CUSTOMER HAVE THE SAM COMPLAIN BUT NOTHING THEY CAN DO AT THIS TIME.....
AWD LIGHT WENT ON FOR TWO DAYS. LIGHT THEN STAYED OFF. TOOK IT TO HONDA, THEY WANT TO REPLACE SOLENOID ASSEMBLY.
THE TEMPERATURE OF THE AIR COMING OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEATING VENTS IS SIGNIFICANTLY COOLER THAN THE TEMPERATURE COMING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. NO ADJUSTMENTS TO THE HEATING CONTROLS IMPROVE THIS SITUATION. IT IS BECOMING MORE DIFFICULT TO DEFROST THE WINDOW, WHICH IMPACTS VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING AND THEREFORE IMPACTS SAFETY. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT HONDA IS NOT COVERING REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE AND THAT CONSUMERS ARE SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO CORRECT A KNOWN DESIGN FLAW.
I AM HOPING, THAT BY BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION, SOMETHING CAN BE DONE TO FIX THE POOR HEADLIGHTS ON HONDA CRVS.. WE HAVE HAD MANY 1990-1991 HONDA ACCORDS THAT DIDN'T SEEM TO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH HEADLIGHTS. WE HAVE A 2006 HONDA CRV, AND NOW OWN A 2013 HONDA CRV. THE HEADLIGHT LAMPS WOULD BURN OUT OFTEN ON THE 2006 CRV FIGURING THE AGE AND ABOUT 250,000. BUT ON CHECKING OUT POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS FOR OUR 2013 LACK OF GOOD LIGHTING AT NIGHT, I FOUND THESE BLOGS ON THE LINKS BELOW. SO THIS IS NOT A NEW PROBLEM AND THE SAFETY ISSUE IS A BIG ONE! DO WE NEED AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE YET A DEATH TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF? THE 2013 HEADLIGHTS DON'T GO OUT FAR ENOUGH ON LOW BEAM AND I DON'T USE HIGH BEAM OFTEN AS IT ONLY SHOWS THE REFLECTOR LIGHTS AND THE ROAD IS DARK IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE! WE LIVE IN DEER COUNTRY. AND GOD FORBID A HUMAN SHOULD BE IN THE ROAD AND NOT SEEN AS A RESULT OF HIGH BEAMS OR LOW BEAMS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. UNDERSTAND THAT WHERE I LIVE IT CAN GET DARK AT 5.00 P.M. MAKES GRINDING NOISE AT START UP. SIMILAR TO OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH VTC VALVE ISSUES
THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AT LOW SPEEDS AND THE STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME. THIS NEARLY RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT HE COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE TECHNICIAN THEN ADVISED THE OWNER TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WOULD RECUR. THE OWNER FOUND THIS ADVICE TO BE UNACCEPTABLE AND QUESTIONED WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE TECHNICIAN THEN ELEVATED THE ISSUE TO THE MANAGER, WHO WAS ABLE TO ISOLATE A TROUBLE CODE. THE OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP KNEW WHAT THE TROUBLE CODE MEANT, AND THAT THE DEALER WOULD HAVE TO CONSULT WITH HONDA CORPORATE FOR GUIDANCE. THE OWNER WAS THEN INFORMED THAT HONDA CORPORATE RECOMMENDED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE POWER STEERING RACK. THIS REPAIR WAS PERFORMED AT SIGNIFICANT COST TO THE OWNER. NEITHER THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS NOR THE ASSOCIATED TROUBLE CODE WERE RECORDED ON THE WORK DOCUMENTATION PRESENTED TO THE OWNER. THE VEHICLE STEERING FELT STIFF AFTERWARDS, THEN TWICE EXHIBITED A FAILURE MODE IN WHICH THE STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING SYSTEM APPEARED TO HIT A PREMATURE HARD STOP PART WAY INTO A LOW-SPEED TURN, FORCING THE VEHICLE WIDE. BOTH OF THESE INCIDENTS NEARLY RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS, BUT THE OWNER QUICKLY SPUN THE STEERING WHEEL TOWARDS CENTER, THEN BACK INTO THE DIRECTION OF THE TURN. THE PROCESS OF RE-CENTERING THE STEERING WHEEL APPEARED TO TEMPORARILY CLEAR THE PREMATURE HARD STOP, AND THE OWNER WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE TURN. THESE INCIDENTS OCCURRED DURING LOW-SPEED TURNS (ROUGHLY 10MPH) ON LOCAL STREETS AND PARKING LOTS IN THE AUSTIN AREA. REPAIR INVOICE FOR THE POWER STEERING RACK AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. THIS COMPLAINT WAS FILED BY A FAMILY REPRESENTATIVE ON BEHALF OF THE OWNER.
ON COLD START THE ENGINE MAKES A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 28,500 MILES ON THE CAR.
THE HEATER CORE IS CLOGGED AND NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TSB 14-063. GETTING THE CRV TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND DRIVING HUNDREDS OF MILES HAS NO AFFECT GETTING HEAT. THE LACK OF HEAT POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO EXTREME FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND WINDSHIELD DEFROSTING. IT MAKES IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD WHILE LEAVING ALL OCCUPANTS INSIDE THE VEHICLE FROZEN. THIS KNOWN HEATER CORE PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER HONDA NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY.
TAKATA RECALL
The contact owns a 2013 HONDA CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, the vehicle would vibrate without warning. The vibration would stop once the contact began to drive above 25 MPH. The contact had taken the vehicle to two separate independent mechanics who were unable to diagnose the failure. The contact had minor repairs performed on the vehicle by each mechanic; however, the failure persisted after each repair. The dealer nor the manufacturer have yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA - THEN PANDEMIC HIT--JUST NOW REOPENING COMPLAINT- CASE#10291529- & AS THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A CONSTANT COMPLAINT FRM MANY OTHERS; HONDA HAS ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN 16-063 TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND SUPPOSEDLY HAVE A REDESIGNED LATCH. BUT IT ONLY COVER VEHICLES UNDER WARRANTY. THUS I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO GET THE NEW IMPROVED PART, WHEN THE ORIGINAL AND REPLACEMENT PART WERE1 BAD IN THE PAST.. DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCKING SYSTEMS IN 2013 HONDA CR-V VEHICLE. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS ON OUR 2013 CR-V AND NOW HAVE HAD A 4TH DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR GO BAD. WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH AMERICAN HONDA, AND THEY INFORMED US THAT THE ACTUATOR IS NOT DEFECTIVE. WELL, IF IT IS NOT DEFECTIVE, THEN WHY IS IT NOT WORKING? WE ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER, AND WERE INFORMED THAT THE MANAGER WOULD TELL US THE SAME THING. WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH OTHER HONDA OWNERS OF DIFFERENT VEHICLES, AND THEY ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLES, WHETHER IT BE A CR-V, ACCORD, CIVIC, ETC. MY PREVIOUS 2008 HONDA CIVIC HAD TO HAVE 12 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS REPLACED. I'VE SPOKEN WITH A COUPLE OF THE HONDA SERVICE TECHS, AND THEY LAUGHED WHEN I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE DOOR ACTUATOR PROBLEM. ONE TECH SAID THEY REPLACED THEM QUITE OFTEN. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT NEEDS TO BE STARTED TO REMEDY THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR 2007-2011 HONDA CR-V'S WHICH HONDA SETTLED. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE NOT HAD AN OFFICIAL RECALL NOTICE FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS, BUT I DID RECEIVE A CLASS ACTION NOTICE IN THE MAIL ON DEC. 11, 2017. THIS IS THE REASON WHY I AM FILLING OUT THIS FORM. AT THE TIME THAT I CHECKED ON THE WEBSITE, IT DID NOT LIST MY CAR AS ONE OF THOSE BEING RECALLED, BUT SAID THAT IT COULD BE RECALLED AT A LATER DATE.
PRESSING ON THE BRAKES IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS LIKE SNOW CAUSES THE ANTILOCK BRAKES TO LOCK UP AND THE CAR TO SKID. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS- EVEN AS LOW AS 15MPH.

WHILE COMING HOME INTO MY DRIVEWAY AS I CAME UP THE DRIVEWAY I WAS STOPPING BY A THE FRONT DOOR THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD JUST BEFORE I CAME TO A FULL STOP,AND HIT GARAGE DOOR, WHICH SHOOK ME UP AS MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I HAD PUSHED THE PEDAL HARD BUT STILL THE CAR MOVED FORWARD, AFTERWARDS WE MOVED THE CAR BACK AND YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE FRONT TIRES ARE SPINNING FORWARD AND THE REAR TIRES ARE LOCKED UP SLIDING FORWARD SHOWING THAT INDEED MY FOOT WAS PRESSING HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THEM, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. AS IT IS NOW,I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND I AM AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR PARKING LOT SOMETHING WORSE COULD HAPPEN OR GET INJURED. YOU CAN SEE BY THE MARKS ON THE DRIVEWAY THAT THE FRONT TIRES WERE SPINNING FORWARD WHILE THE REAR TIRES WERE LOCKED ( BECAUSE I HAD HARD PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL) AND SLID A FEW FEET, WE HAVE TAKEN PICTURES OF THE CAR AND DRIVEWAY AND WILL TRY TO SEND TO YOU. HAVE 2013 HONDA CR-V AND WHEN GO TO START IT AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT MAKES LOUD GRINDING NOISE FOR 1-2 SECONDS. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S THE VTC ACTUATOR AND IS A KNOW PROBLEM BUT NOT RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THEY WANT 500 BUCKS TO FIX THE ISSUES SINCE CAR OF COURSE ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY AND WON'T WORK WITH ME AT ALL. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN MY OPINION OF HONDA WITH AN ISSUES THAT IS KNOW AND COMMON.
DRIVERS DOOR LOCK MAKES A LOUD,GRINDING SOUND WHEN THE DOOR IS LOCKED. UNABLE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE. DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACED, LASTED ONE DAY, PROBLEM CAME BACK. REAR LEFT DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPEN OR CLOSE USING THE REMOTE. IT MUST BE MANUALLY OPENED OR CLOSED.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NO OIL LEAK AND NOT BURNING OIL. MECHANIC NOTED EXCESSIVE OIL USE WHEN HE SAW IT WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL WITHIN 3 MONTHS USE AFTER A OIL CHANGE. MECHANIC FOUND NO CAUSE FOR THIS SO IT MUST BE INSIDE THE ENGINE OR DRIVE TRAIN. CAR IS USED FOR LOCAL FLAT DRIVING. NO TOWING, RACING, MOUNTAINS, ETC.
AT THE STATIONARY POSITION, HEARD A LOUD GRINDING SOUND EVERY TIME I START THE CAR. DEALERSHIP STATED IT IS A VTC ACTUATOR FAILURE.
TAKATA RECALL THE PASSENGER" AIR BAG IS OFF" ICON IS ON ALL THE TIME IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE DASH. ONLY HAVE 25,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THERE ISN'T ANYONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DOES NOT GO OFF IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IS THIS A PROBLEM RELATED TO THE MASSIVE AIRBAG RECALL? ALSO, THE STARTER ENGAGEMENT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE .
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES SHAKING/JUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING AT SPEEDS OF 20-40 MPH.
ENGINE MAKES A RATTLE NOISE ON COLD START UP. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE VTC ACTUATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT 83000 MILES. THIS WAS IN AUGUST OF 2017. IT IS NOW JANUARY OF 2018, CAR NOW HAS 90355 MILES AND THE RATTLE NOISE HAS RETURNED. WILL TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK TO SEE WHAT WILL BE DONE NEXT. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED, HONDA HAS NOT COME UP WITH A REAL FIX. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS FOR PREVIOUS MODELS. COME ON NHTSA, PUT SOME HEAT ON THESE GUYS.
VIBRATION DURING SLOW EXCELLERATION
ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION, THE VEHICLE WILL SHUDDER. I THINK IT IS WHEN IT SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR NORMAL SERVICE AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK THIS ISSUE. WENT TO PICK IT UP AND WAS TOLD THEY CONFIRMED THE ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME THE ISSUE WAS REPORTED IN LATER MODELS AND A POSSIBLE FIX WAS TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE HONDA 5 YEAR/60K MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY OR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PURCHASED WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. I WAS CHARGED $88.00 JUST FOR THEM TO CONFIRM THE ISSUE AND ALSO HONDA WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. SINCE THEY SAID IT WOULD ONLY POSSIBLY FIX THE CAR AT A COST TO ME OF AROUND $300.00 AND THERE WERE NO FAULT CODES, I OPTED TO FOREGO THE PROCEDURE. AFTER I GOT HOME I FOUND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS PROBLEM ON USER FORUMS. I ALSO FOUND A LINK TO PRINT THE HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN SB 15-086, DATED AUGUST 18, 2016. THAT WAS STATED FOR CRV MODEL YEARS 2012-14. HOPEFULLY THE PROBLEM WILL NOT RESULT IN A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, CAUSING INJURY OR DAMAGE. HONDA EVIDENTLY DOES NOT BELIEVE IT COULD OR THERE WOULD BE A RECALL.
