TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIFTGATE LATCH MECHANISM MALFUNCTIONED AND THE LIFTGATE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS VERY COLD. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND BEND HONDA (2225 NE HWY 20, BEND, OR) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
BACK TRUNK DOESN'T OPEN WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE.
MY HONDA CR-V SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT MY PEDAL INPUT WHILE I WAS TURNING AT ABOUT 5 MPH IN THE PARKING LOT OF AN OUTDOOR SHOPPING PLAZA AND LOOKING FOR A PARKING SPACE. MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED UP TO 18 MPH BEFORE COLLIDING WITH TWO PARKED CARS, LEADING TO MODERATE FRONT-END DAMAGE OF MY VEHICLE. DASHCAM VIDEO AVAILABLE AT HTTPS://YOUTU.BE/T1SXHEZE74S
DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (20-40MPH) THE CAR WILL FLUTTER/SHIMMY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HONDA AMERICA AS THEY HAVE TWO SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THE ISSUE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE ONLINE FORUMS WITH CR-V OWNERS HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH LOW AND HIGH MILEAGE. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE FIRST "FIX" ACCORDING TO THE HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN AND IT WAS OK FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND NOW IT'S BACK, WORSE THAN EVER. THE SECOND FIX ACCORDING TO HONDA IS A TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT HELP THE PROBLEM.
AT COLD START-UP, THE ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY FOR A FEW SECONDS, EVERY TIME NOW. DEFECTIVE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CONTROL (VTC) ACTUATOR. VTC ACTUATOR IS DEFECTIVE. OVER TIME, THIS CAN CAUSE FRAGMENTED ISSUES, AFFECTING OTHER INTEGRAL AREAS OF VEHICLE OPERATION.
RATTLE FROM ENGINE EVERY STARTUP. LOUDER AND LONGER WHEN COLD. TIMING CHAIN? THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE CPO PURCHASE. IT'S GETTING LOUDER AND I'M AFRAID IT WILL DESTROY MY ENGINE, BEFORE HONDA ADMITS TO A DEFECTIVE PART AND DOES A RECALL.
LIGHTS THAT INDICATE THAT THE BAGS ARE ALWAYS OFF. APPARENTLY AIRBAGS DON'T WORK
LOW HEAT FROM DRIVERS SIDE WHICH CAUSES THE WINDSHIELD NOT TO DEFROST IN THE WINTER. ALSO COLD INSIDE CAR. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS AND PUT OUT SERVICE BULLETIN #14-063. SAYS HEATER CORE PARTLY CLOGS REDUCING HEAT TO DRIVERS SIDE. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
OIL USAGE IS EXTREMELY HIGH WITH NO VISIBLE LEAKS, AND ENGINE IS DRY. I AM AT THE POINT OF MY OIL NEEDING TO BE CHANGED, AND MY OIL WAS NEARLY EMPTY. I HAVE PUT IN 3 QT'S IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS. ALSO, I LIVE IN NYS, AND ON COOLER DAYS TO FREEZING DAYS, THERE IS A LOUD GRINDING RATTLE THAT HAPPENS WHEN I START MY CAR. I HAD A 2010 THAT DID THE SAME THING.
WHEN I START MY 2014 HONDA CRV IN THE MORNING IN IDLE AND UNTIL I HIT OVER 15 MPH IT MAKES A RATTLE NOISE, BUT MORE OF A KNOCKING UNDER THE VALVE COVER AREA. WE HAVE DONE THE OIL CHANGES EVERY TIME THE ON-BOARD OIL LIFE REMINDER TELLS ME. DURING THE WINTER, I TAKE IT TO HONDA DURING THE SUMMER MY HUSBAND AND I CHOOSE TO CHANGE IT. THE NOISE HAS BECOME CONSIDERABLY WORSE SO WE WENT ONLINE TO REVIEW. ALL ASSOCIATIONS WITH THE PROBLEM POINT TO THE VTC ACTUATOR AND TIMING CHANGE. AFTER CALLING TO MAKE AN APPT AT THE DEALER AND EXPLAIN MY PROBLEM I HEAR THE COST TO FIX IT REFERRING TO THE SERVICE BULLETIN 16-102. IT WAS WELL OVER $2000. THE ISSUE BEFORE I PAY THAT TO FIX IT IS THAT ALL OF THE PEOPLE I READ IN THE ONLINE COMMUNITY STATE IT IS A TEMPORARY FIX AND THE PROBLEM COMES RIGHT BACK. SOME HAVE HAD THE VTC CHANGED FOUR TIMES. THAT WOULD COST ME $8000, A BEAUTIFUL CHUNK OF CHANGE TO PUT DOWN ON A NEW CAR. NOT A HONDA. JUST LIKE THE AIRBAG ISSUE WITH MY 2004 HONDA CRV, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE REPLACEMENT UNTIL THEY GOT IT RIGHT. I URGE YOU TO PLEASE NOTIFY HONDA OF ALL OUR COMPLAINTS (I UPLOADED A COMMUNITY FORUM) I CAN NOT AFFORD TO KEEP CHASING DOWN THIS DEFECTIVE PART. MY 2007 HONDA PRELUDE HAS OVER 300K AND IS A DAILY DRIVER WITH A NIECE. MY 2014 AND 2016 HONDA CRV ARE HAPPY EVERY DRIVER. SNOW BEATS IF YOU MAY. I WANTED A NEWER CAR WITH NEWER FEATURES, BUT WHAT I GOT WAS AN EXPENSIVE DEFECTIVE HONDA. I PAID $15000 TWO YEARS AGO, AND IT IS NOW JUST UNDER 100,000 MILES. THERE USED TO BE A SAYING, YOU COULD DRIVE A HONDA TO THE POINT OF THE BODY FALLING OFF, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD KEEP GOING. NOT ONLY IS MY VTC A SORE SPOT TO FIX. IT IS NOW USING OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VTC. SO I WILL CHANGE IT ONCE AND IF IT CONTINUES. I WILL BE BACK WITH ANOTHER URGE FOR JUSTICE.
BATTERY + OIL INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND BRAKES FAILED WHEN APPROACHING INTERSECTION RESULTING IN COLLISION. CODE READER SCAN SHOWS THERE WAS A LOW VOLTAGE WHICH TRIGGERED ABS CODE. VEHICLE REGULARLY SERVICED AND INSPECTED BY HONDA DEALERSHIP, MOST RECENTLY 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO INCIDENT.
I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OF THE ENGINE TWICE OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD. AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATE 140 MILLES I PULLED INTO A PARKING AREA. AFTER THE CAR STOPPED THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY REVED UP TO OVER 3000 RPM. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE KEY. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED THE CONDITIONS WERE SIMILAR WITH THE ENGINE REVING UP TO APPROXIMATELY 5000 RPM. IN BOTH CASES THE ENGINE REVED UP AFTER CAR WAS STOPPED AT THE END OF A LONG CONTINUOUS DRIVE. AT THE END OF THESE EVENTS I LOOKED DOWN AND VERIFIED THAT MY FOOT WAS DEFINITELY ON THE BRAKE. AFTER THE FIRST EVENT I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY A RELIABLE MECHANIC AND NOTHING UNUSUAL WAS FOUND.
AFTER MY CAR HAS SAT FOR 5-6 HOURS OR LONGER, AT START UP MY ENGINE GRINDS FOR 1-2 SECONDS. READING SIMILAR PROBLEMS ONLINE THEY SAY IT IS A FAULTY VTC ACTUATOR THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO FIX OR RECALL. IS THERE PLANS TO RECALL THIS FAULTY PART BEFORE MY CAR FAILS AND BREAKS DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD? THIS NOISE HAS HAPPENED EVERY DAY FOR THE LAST YEAR OR SO.
MY VEHICLE WAS STALLED IN THE EARLY MORNING OF JULY 17, 2019 IN A PARKING LOT AND TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP NEARBY. THE MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE STALL WAS CAUSED BY THE SHORTAGE OF ALL FUSES IN THE PRIMARY FUSE BOX DUE TO LEAKING OIL FROM THE TIMING CHAIN COVER OF THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC MENTIONED THAT THE OIL LEAK OCCURRED FOR A WHILE SO IT SHORTED OUT THE FUSES THROUGH THE INCASED ELECTRICAL WIRES. I THINK THAT IT DEFINITELY IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE MY LIFE COULD BE IN A DANGER IF THE SHORTAGE OCCURRED WHEN I DROVE THIS VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. THEREFORE, I WANTED YOUR AGENCY TO RAISE THIS SAFETY ISSUE RELATED TO HONDA CRV TO HONDA MANUFACTURER AND CONSUMERS WHO ARE CURRENTLY DRIVING A SIMILAR TYPE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM CURRENTLY COOPERATING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE FROM HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. SINCERELY, (XXXX) P.S. My vehicle was involved in an accident on the highway in which no front airbags were deployed. I’m grateful that my family and I weren’t seriously injured. My Vin# shows that their aren’t any recalls on my vehicle but feel there may be something wrong with my airbags.
I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND CAR SERVICED ON 6/21/19 AND ON 6/22/19 MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ONLY 2 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED MY TIRES AND ALL WERE AT 40LBS. I RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE CENSURE, AND A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS YET AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I CHECK MY PRESSURE AGAIN AND ALL WERE 40LBS. BEFORE MY TIRES WERE ROTATED MY LIGHT NEVER CAME ON, AND NOW IT COMES ON AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A WEEK. NOT SURE IF IT IS THE SENSOR THAT HAS GONE BAD OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HOW THE TIRES ARE ROTATING. MY CAR HAS 34,500 MILES ON IT. CHECK TIRE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT; NO POT HOLES WERE HIT AND THE ROADS WERE NOT UNEVEN.
BENT CAR JACK . MY VEHICLE JACK CAR BENDS. I INJURED MY FINGERS IT WAS A SAFETY VIOLATION ON THE PART OF HONDA. SHAME ON HONDA!
THE CAR VIBRATED DURING ACCELERATION AT 25 AND 32MPH. THE HONDA OF SAN MARCOS,TX DEALER UPDATED THE SOFTWARE AND THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM. SINCE MANY 2014 HONDA CRVS HAVE THIS PROBLEM, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. HONDA SHOULD REIMBURSE ME THE $365.15 THAT THEY CHARGED ME TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION VIBRATION.
I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SKATE BETWEEN 25-30 MPH WHEN ACCELERATING. I TOOK IT TO THE CLOSEST HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, HOPING IT WAS COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO PAY $140 FOR THEM TO JUST CHECK MY VEHICLE. THEN THEY CALLED ME TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND HONDA HAD CREATED AN UPDATE, WHICH I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO RECEIVE. THAT THEY WOULD ALSO HAVE TO FLUSH MY TRANSMISSION FLUID AS PART OF THIS, AND THAT THE COST WOULD BE $499 WITH LABOR AND TAXES. I THEN ALSO WENT AHEAD AND HAD MY OIL CHANGED AND MY BRAKE FLUID SINCE IT WAS RECOMMENDED. TOTAL BILL WAS $703. I THEN CAME HOME AND STARTED LOOKING UP AND IT APPEARS THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE/HAD THE SAME ISSUE. MOST WEREN'T CHARGED BY THEIR DEALER FOR THE UPDATE AND FLUID CHANGE, WHICH SEEMS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. BUT I WAS. AND I HAVE THE SILVER WARRANTY UNDER FIDELITY. AND IT AFFECTED MY POWER TRAIN, BUT THEY CO WIDER IT A SOFTWARE ISSUE, NOT MECHANICAL, SO THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT. HONDA SHOULD NOT CHARGE FOR THIS ISSUE, WHICH WAS CLEARLY AFFECTING ENOUGH PEOPLE TO CAUSE THEM TO HAVE AN UPDATE AVAILABLE. BUT WHY CHARGE FOR IT? IT'S A MALFUNCTION IN THEIR SOFTWARE WHICH AFFECTED THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE, AND THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE A RECALL AND PROVIDED THIS FOR FREE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOSAK HONDA MICHIGAN CITY (LOCATED AT 710 E HWY 20, MICHIGAN CITY, IN 46360, (219) 874-4293) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,500. *TR NOTE: THE TIRE PRESSURE FOR ALL TIRES (INCLUDING SPARE) IS CHECKED AND ADJUSTED FREQUENTLY WHEN THE TIRES ARE COLD. VEHICLE WHEN RIDING AT A STEADY RISING SPEED AND IT COMES TO 2 POINT ON THE MILAGE AS 30MPH OR 40MPH THE VEHICLE STARTS TO SHAKE CONTINOUSLY UNTILL GAS PEDAL IS LET GO OR STRONGLY PRESSED TO ACCELERATE. THIS ACTION CONTINUES TO HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE WHEN IT SHAKES SOME TIMES ARE MORE STRONG THEN OTHER, IT VARIES ON THE POWER OF THE SHAKE.
The engine had been having an oil consumption issue. I was back and forth with Honda who kept pushing me around. Filed complaints there as well. The first I was ever notified there was a problem is when I brought my car in for service and was told the oil was barely present. Was notified by the mechanic this is a known issue that should be reported. I reported and nothing was really done. They would bring me in for an oil change, I would come back and they would somehow "forget" to document I returned. Was told not to add oil and my car stalled and I crashed into a parking lot with my child in the back seat on a busy street. Nothing was done to help me with the issue. I brought in every single oil change I had ever had on the vehicle and I was told I was not doing the routine maintenance even though I had proof. This is a huge concern for safety as me or my child could have been injured and Honda did nothing to help or even attempt to help with the concern.

BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE OF THE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOYED. I GOT HURT MY CHEST BY HITTING THE STEERING. PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR AIRBAG GOT STUCK BEHIND THE WHEEL. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT CRASHED INTO THE WALL OF A RESTAURANT. THE DRIVER'S AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. COMPASS WOULD NOT CALIBRATE OR WORK. INITIALLY, DEALER THOUGHT IT WAS A CELL PHONE COMMUNICATION THAT WAS CORRUPTING THE COMPASS OPERATION! TESTS AND REMOVING CELL PHONE CONNECTION TO CAR PROVED IT WAS NOT THE SOURCE OF PROBLEM. PAID DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC BUT THEY DID NOT REPAIR OR RESOLVE PROBLEM. REPORTED ISSUE TO HONDA CORPORATION. EVENTUALLY, WE HAD TO PAY FOR A COMPLETE NEW COMPASS SYSTEM TO BE INSTALLED.
MY CAR HAS BLACK SOT ALL OVER IT! ON THE OUT SIDE. IT IS DRIVING SLOWLY WITH A FEEL OF A STALL? AND NOT GOING WELL WITH WHAT I FEEL IN THE POWER! I THINK IT MAY BE THE EMISSIONS CONTROLS? & THERE IS A BURNING SMELL WHEN I USE THE HEAT ? WHAT IF ANY THING CAN I DO FROM HERE ?? RATTLING NOISE FOR 1 TO 3 SECONDS WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY SINCE PURCHASE. HAVE TALKED WITH DEALER WITH THEY SAY ITS STARTER ($863 NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IF I TURN KEY AND LET SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN START THE ENGINE - NO METAL NOISE. CONTACT AMERICA HONDA - NO CALL OR COMMUNICATION YET
THE HEATER-DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK IN THE WINTER. THE WINDSHIELD STARTS TO FROST OVER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE MAKING VISIBILITY VERY POOR. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED OR DRIVING SITUATION. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 31,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I FOUND ON THE HONDA FORUM THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS YEAR OF CR-V. MANY COMPLAINTS HAD LESS MILEAGE THAN MY CR-V. HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT RECALL THIS VEHICLE. NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING IS A SAFETY HAZARD!!!
THE A/C COMPRESSOR PULLEY BEARING SEAL IS BROKEN/BUSTED AND IS GRINDING CAUSING A BURNING SMELL. THE IDLER PULLEY BEARING SEAL IS BROKEN/BUSTED AND IS SQUEALING. ALL THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE IS UP TO DATE. THIS AUTOMOBILE IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BASIC ENGINE COMPONENTS. IS THIS A RARE CASE FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL OR IS IT THAT HONDA IS NO LONGER CONSIDERED TO BE A RELIABLE AUTOMOBILE?
CRV WAS RATTLING FOR ABOUT A WEEK. STARTED ONLY IN THE MORNING IN THE COLD AND PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO THE MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY BUT AS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT'S ENGINE FAILURE AND HAD NO OIL. WE HAD NO OIL LIGHT COME ON AND WE GET ROUTINE OIL CHANGES. CALLED HONDA TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID NO AND OFFERED NO HELP. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A WORTHLESS 5 YR OLD CAR THAT I STILL OWE MONEY ON. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WHY HASN'T A RECALL BEEN ISSUED? WHY IS NOBODY INVESTIGATING THIS????
VEHICLE MAKES GRINDING NOISE FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS DURING A COLD START. VEHICLE WAS IN PARK.
CORROSION FROM THE RADIATOR BUILDS UP IN THE HEATER CORE AND CAUSES THE DRIVERS SIDE DEFROST TO BE INSUFFICIENT. IN WEATHER BELOW 25 DEGREES, ICE EASILY FORMS ON THE WINDSHIELD AND THE DEFROST CAN'T KEEP UP BECAUSE IT ISN'T WARM ENOUGH. VEHICLE HAS HAD HEATER CORE FLUSH MULTIPLE TIMES. IT'S TIME TO REALIZE THAT COMPONENTS ARE FAILED AND NEED ANSWERS. THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEFROST IS ESSENTIAL IN SAFE DRIVING.
WHEN CAR REACHES 60-70 MPH, IT SHUDDERS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO CHANGE GEAR. PERIODIC.
HEATER CORE KEEPS CLOGGING CAUSING ONLY COLD AIR TO BLOW ON DRIVER SIDE
A KNOWN TSB SHOWS THAT HONDA IS AWARE THAT ISSUES WITH THE RADIATOR/HEATER CORE IS CAUSING DRIVERS SIDE HEAT TO BE CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS INADEQUATE HEAT SUPPLY TO THE DRIVERS SIDE CAUSES ICE TO EASILY ACCUMULATE AND STICK TO THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD IN VIRTUALLY ANY WEATHER CONDITIONS BELOW 20 DEGREES FARENHEIT. THIS CAUSES MUCH CONCERN FOR VISIBILITY AND VARYING PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURES CAN MAKE VISIBILITY VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. HONDA NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THEIR FAULTY COMPONENTS AND RECALL THESE PARTS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE DEFROSTING ABILITIES AND MAKE OUR ROADWAYS SAFER. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MANAUFACTURERS TSB PERFORMED ON THE HEATER CORE TWICE WITH ISSUES STILL ARISING TODAY ONLY 20K MILES IN.
CAR SHAKES, JERKS, AND "JUDDERS" BETWEEN 20 AND 40MPH UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION. THIS WAS DIAGNOSED BY A HONDA DEALERSHIP AS BEING THE ISSUE ADDRESSED IN HONDA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 15-086, BUT THEY WILL ONLY FIX IT AT THEIR COST IF YOU ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. FIXING, ACCORDING TO HONDA REQUIRES REPLACING THE TORQUE CONVERTER, UPDATING THE PCM, AND REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THAT'S A PRETTY EXPENSIVE BILL FOR IT BEING THEIR SOFTWARE ISSUE IN THE FIRST PLACE. CAR ALSO MAKE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE ON COLD STARTS. WAS INFORMED THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE VTC ACTUATOR, BUT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR IT.
THE DRIVER SIDE HEAT VENT BLOWS OUT COLD AIR IN MY 2014 HONDA CRV. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO HONDA AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE A RECALL. THIS COLD AIR CAUSES THE WINDOWS TO NOT DEFROST AND, THEREFORE, DIFFICULT TO SEE IN CERTAIN WEATHER CONDITIONS. I HAVE HAD THE HEATER CORE FLUSHED ONCE AND THE ISSUE CAME BACK WITHIN 15,000 MILES. IT IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT IS UNSAFE DRIVING WITH FROSTED WINDOWS DUE TO NO HEAT.
VTC actuator makes grinding sound upon cold start and reduces engine power. Has been doing it since the car had 22200 miles and had it repair and the same thing started 4 months after repair. Seems to be an ongoing problem with 2013 and 2014 CRVs
THE ANTI-FREEZE CORRODES THE RADIATOR CAUSING THE CORE TO BE BLOCKED. BLOWS HOT AIR ON PASSAGE SIDE AND COLD AIR ON DRIVER'S SIDE
THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR VENT BLOWS COLD AIR OUT OF THE VENTS AND TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD. THUS, I AM UNABLE TO PROPERLY DEFROST MY FRONT WINDSHIELD ON MY 2014 HONDA CRV, CAUSING A POSSIBLE SAFETY HAZARD. HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED TSB #14-063 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, BUT YET REFUSES TO DO ANY SORT OF RECALL. THE TSB CALLS FOR A FLUSH OF THE HEATER CORE WITH CLR AND THEN THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE HEATER CORE GETS PLUGGED AGAIN. TO ME THIS IS A DESIGN/SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER THE HEAT IS ON AND THE CAR IS AT OPERATING TEMPERATURES.

I'M HAVING THE INFAMOUS VTC ACTUATOR GRINDING ON START-UP THAT HONDA HAS DETAILED IN SERVICE BULLETIN #16-012. I'VE CONTACTED HONDA REPEATEDLY ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT.
WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING, THE REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN. THE LATCH MECHANISM HAS BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM, WITH MULTIPLE LATCH REPLACEMENTS HAVING NOT SOLVED IT. IT IS A DESIGN DEFECT. IF ONE WERE IN A COLLISION AND THE DOORS WERE JAMMED, PEOPLE COULD NOT BE REMOVED THROUGH THE HATCH. IF ONE HAD A FLAT TIRE BESIDE THE ROAD, THE SPARE COULD NOT BE ACCESSED. IF MEDICATION WERE NEEDED, IT COULD NOT BE RETRIEVED PROMPTLY. THE DATE MENTIONED BELOW IS ONLY ONE OF THE MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN WE HAVE VISITED COLD WEATHER AREAS. IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING.
HEATER BLOWS WARM AIR ON PASSENGER AND COLD AIR ON DRIVER. HEATER COIL IS PLUGGED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN ARM AND FOOT INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000.

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S WITH ON 34,022 MILES, WHEN THE HEAT AND FAN/BLOWER IS ON, COLD AIR COMES FROM THE DRIVER SIDE VENTS WHILE WARM/HOT AIR BLOWS FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS. RESEARCH INDICATES A CLOG IN THE HEATER CORE. A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN EXISTS FOR THE PROBLEM ATTACHED.THIS ISSUE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FROM EITHER: 1) SAND LEFT IN THE COOLANT PASSAGES AFTER THE CASTING OF THE ENGINE BLOCK AND OR 2) HONDA'S COOLANT CONTAINING SEDIMENT AND OR 3) HONDA'S COOLANT CAUSING WEAR TO SURFACES IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH. THE WINDSHIELD FREEZES UP WHEN TRYING TO DEFROST IT AND A SAFETY ISSUE IN WINTER. HONDA NEEDS TO COVER THIS REPAIR- PLEASE ADVISE, THANK YOU.
