2015 HONDA CR-V SUV WAS TRAVELING HIGHWAY SPEED (55MPH) IN ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL MODE. WEATHER AT THE TIME OF IMPACT WAS 50F. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO DETECT VEHICLE IN FRONT AND ACCELERATION OCCURRED RESULTING IN IMPACT.
MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THIS 2015 CRV USED WITH APPROXIMATELY 31,400. MILES. CHECKED THE CAR FAX NO PROBLEMS NO ACCIDENTS REPORTED. THE CAR DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE CAR AND SERVICED IT. IT HAD AN OIL JOB, BATTERY, TIRES REPLACED. DROVE IT FOR 4 MONTHS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I AM STILL UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THEN DECEMBER 17 THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE MY 22 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING IT ON THE ROADWAY. JUST LOST POWERS. SOMEONE EVENTUALLY PUSHED HIS CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF ROAD AND OUT OF TRAFFIC. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO JOYCE HONDA. ALTHOUGH UNDER WARRANTY THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT. SAID THE CAR HAD ONLY 1 GALLON OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. NO LEAKS. THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS PRIOR, NO LIGHTS LITE UP ON THE DASHBOARD WARNING US TO SERVICE OR CHECK THE ENGINE. NO FUMES. WE DIDN'T EVEN OWN THE CAR LONG ENOUGH TO NEED AN OIL JOB YET. I SPOKE TO OTHER MECHANICS WHO SAID IT'S DEFECTIVE. IT COULD NOTBHAVE BEEN DRIVEN FOR FOUR MONTHS ON ONE GALLON TRANSMISSION FLUID. I KNOW HONDA HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S A DEFECTIVE TORGUE CONVERTER THAT IS BURNING OFF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH HONDA BUT THEY REFUSE TO HONOR MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THIS IS A $4800 REPAIR! HONDA NEEDS TO STAND BY ITS WARRANTY.
DURING LAST FEW YEARS, THE CAR WENT INTO A STALE (ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED) WHILE MOVING.
THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE. CAR WON'T START AT TIMES. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT I WAS GETTING GAS AT WAWA THEN GOT BACK IN AND CAR WOULDN'T TURN OVER AND DASH BOARD LIGHTS STATED FLICKERING AND A BUZZING SOUND WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THEN ON A SIDE STREET IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO START. I TOOK TO MECHANIC WHO CHANGED THE STARTER 2 DIFFERENT TIMES IN 2 DAYS. AND NOW IT WON'T START AGAIN. ALSO MY OIL IS EITHER BURNING OR LEAKING OUT. I HAVE HAD THAT ADDRESSED BY A MECHANIC AS WELL. THAT TOO WAS NEVER FIGURED OUT ON MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS BY HALL HONDA WHO REPORTED IT AS NOT EVEN HAPPENING. AND NOW AGAIN THERE IS NO OIL IN THE CAR. I HAVE BEEN DILIGENT ABOUT MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGES. I HAVE BROKEN DOWN IN THIS CAR ON SIDE STREETS, IN PUBLIC PARKING PLACES AND IN UNSAFE AREAS. I THOUGHT I WAS GETTTING A GOOD DEPENDABLE VEHICLE WITH HONDA. BUT I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AFTER HE RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ON ONE OCCASION, THE FAILURE CAUSEDTHE CONTACT TO STRIKE TWO VEHICLES AND HIS VEHICLE ENDED UP STOPPING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A WOODED AREA. THE ENTIRE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME AND LATER TOWED TO SOUTHERN MOTORS HONDA (10300 ABERCORN ST, SAVANNAH, GA 31406, (866) 353-8259) TO BE INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000.
BATTERY DRAINS AND CAR WILL NOT START. CAR GIVES NO WARNING OF DRAIN. NEW LARGER BATTERY DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. PROBLEM REPEATS ON 6 WEEK CYCLE.
TAKATA RECALL I'M DRIVING WITH MY HONDA CR-V ON THE FREEWAY AND MY CAR SUDDENLY SLOWS DOWN, FROM 70MPH TO 35MPH AND I PULLED OVER AND WHEN I START TO DRIVE IT DOESN'T MOVE ANYMORE, BUT THE ENGINE STILL TURN ON, IT JUST DOESN'T MOVE OR BACK UP. B I DIDN'T HEAR ANY SOUNDS WHEN IT HAPPEN.
BATTERY KEEPS GOING DEAD AFTER AFTER NOT BEING USED FOR LESS THAN A WEEK. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED IN JAN 2019 AND THE NEW BATTERY HAS DIED TWO TIMES ALREADY BOTH TIME HEAVY CORROSION HAS APPEARED AROUND THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. A CHARGE OVERNIGHT HAS ALLOWED ME TO START THE CAR AND GET IT TO THE DEALER WHO CLAIMS, EVERY TIME, THAT THE BATTERY IS OK. . A WEB SEARCH CAME UP WITH A POSSIBLE SERVICE BULLETIN 16-011 (WHICH IS CORROSION OF THE HARNESS AND WIRING BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND SENSORS.) I HAVE AN AILING WIFE AND NEVER KNOW WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE HER SOMEWHERE IN AN EMERGENCY AND THE BATTERY IS DEAD. WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK OF AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE IS SAFETY PROBLEM. WHY ISNT A RECALL BEING MADE?
I HAD TO HAVE 3 WHEEL BEARINGS REPLACED SO FAR ON A HONDA CRV 2015 THAT HAS 65,000 MILES.
I WAS DRIVING CAR ON CITY STREET ABOUT 40 MILES HOURS, TRIED TO ACCELERATE TWICE , CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN . THE THIRD TIME I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR FINALLY BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. THE SECOND TIME WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND WENT TO YIELD RIGHT OF WAS BEFORE MAKING A RIGHT TURN . I SLOWED TO YIELD THEN ACCELERATED THE CAR STALLED AS IT WAS STOPPED. I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN AND THEN THE CARE ACCELERATED SLOWLY. ANOTHER CAR CAME THROUGH RED LIGHT AND WAS RIGHT ON MY BUMPER WHEN MY CAR STALLED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
MY PROBLEM WITH MY HONDA CRV HAPPENS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING BUT INTERMITTENT. SO WHEN BACKING THE CAR OUT OF GARAGE IT WILL FEEL LIKE IT'S GONNA TO STALL OR SHAKE SOMETIMES STALLS CAR OR ALMOST STALLS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO DEALER BUT UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. ABOUT SIX MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. DURING THIS TIME, THE CAR WOULD MAKE A CRANKING SOUND BUT WOULD NOT CATCH. IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES OF ME PUSHING THE START BUTTON FOR THE CAR TO START. THAT DAY I BROUGHT IT TO HONDA AND HONDA TOLD ME IT WAS A BAD BATTERY SO THEY REPLACED IT. THREE MONTHS LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED EXCEPT THIS TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO HONDA AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD BATTERY AND REPLACED IT. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN EVERY THREE-SIX MONTHS HOWEVER HONDA IS NO LONGER REPLACING THE BATTERY AS THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THERE ARE NO LIGHTS BEING LEFT ON IN MY CAR. I DO NOT HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM. THE CAR WILL BE PARKED OVER NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON IT WILL NOT START OR TAKE SEVERAL TRIES OF ME PUSHING THE START BUTTON FOR IT TO START. IT WILL MAKE A CRANKING SOUND WHEN IT TRIES TO START BUT WILL NOT CATCH OR TAKES SEVERAL TRIES. HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR STARTING FOR THE 2015 CRV MODEL BUT STATED THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.
HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION ON HONDA CRV ESPECIALLY 2015. I RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH MINE. WHILE PARKING IN A SPACE, THE GAS PEDAL TOOK OFF AND I RAN INTO A ANOTHER PARKED CAR.
THE MOTOR STALLS WHEN MAKING PULLING AWAY FROM A DEAD STOP. I HAVE NOTICED THIS IN PARTICULAR WHEN MAKING A TURN FROM A DEAD STOP. IT HAS ALMOST GOT ME HIT A FEW TIMES AND THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. I CONTACTED MY DEALER WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH THEY DID, IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME AS IT IS SPORADIC BUT WHEN IT DOES DO IT IT MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A TURN AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS COMING TOWARDS ME. HONDA WILL NOT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE FOR ME.
I AM WRITING YOU BECAUSE I HAD TO HAVE THE STARTED REPLACED ON MY HONDA 2015 CR-V. THE VIN NUMBER IS: [XXX]; VA LICENSE [XXX]; MILEAGE 47,332. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO HAVE A VEHICLE OF THAT YEAR AND SUCH A LOW MILEAGE WITH STARTER PROBLEMS AND HAVING THE STARTED REPLACED. THE FINAL BILL FOR THE WORK CONDUCTED WAS $727.16, INCLUDING PARTS, LABOR AND TAXES. I SUSPECT THAT STARTER PROBLEMS ARE INHERITED FROM A POOR DESIGN WHERE THE STARTER IS EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE HEAT FROM THE MANIFOLD. THEREFORE, ALL CR-VS' DESIGNED IN A SAME MANNER ARE RELEGATED TO THE SAME FLAW. CONSEQUENTLY, ALL OWNERS OF THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE ARE FORCED TO INCUR THE UNREASONABLE COST OF HAVING TO REPLACE THE STARTER AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. REPLACED PARKING BRAKE SHOES THAT WERE DOWN TO BARE METAL AND ADJUSTED SAME. BRAKE CABLES HAVE STRETCHED AND WILL NOT HOLD VEHICLE ON EVEN A GENTLE SLOPE WHEN FULLY ENGAGED BY FOOT PETAL PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. HONDA ELIMINATED ANY PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT ON THIS MODEL? THIS IS A VERY COMMON AND VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT HONDA SAYS CAN NOT HAPPEN. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT STAND BEHIND A HONDA CRV WITH FLOOR ACTIVATED PARKING BRAKE AS THE CAR WILL ROLL OVER YOU AN A HILL IN NEUTRAL GUARANTIED! NO HOPE TO USE AS AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY BRAKE AT ALL AS IT WILL NOT SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE APPRECIABLY WHEN MOVING IN NEUTRAL. HONDA SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THIS VEHICLE IN THE USA AS THIS CABLE STRETCHING IS A CLEAR AND PRESENT LETHAL DANGER TO ALL. MAKE THEM FIX THIS NON-ADJUSTABLE PARKING BRAKE CABLE OR TAKE THE VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. TIGHTENING THE BRAKE SHOES TO THE BRAKE DRUM ONLY HEATS UP THE BRAKE SHOES AND TEARS OFF THE VERY THIN PARKING BRAKE SHOE PADS. NO COMMON SENSE WENT INTO THE DECISION TO ELIMINATE THE ADJUSTMENT CAPABILITY OF THIS BRAKE CABLE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM AT ALL. SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS TO ALLOW HONDA TO NOT RECALL THIS PARKING BRAKE NON-ADJUSTABLE CABLE SYSTEM AND REPLACE SAME WITH AN ADJUSTABLE PARKING BRAKE CABLE SYSTEM. VERY EASY FIX BY MANUFACTURING A NEW FLOOR PARKING BRAKE PETAL WITH INCORPORATED CABLE ADJUSTMENT SCREWS. PEOPLE WILL BE INJURED AND PEOPLE WILL DIE IF THIS IS ALLOWED TO REMAIN EFFECTIVELY UNADDRESSED BY HONDA MOTOR COMPANY.
RIGHT FRONT DOOR WINDOW EXPLODED ON THE HIGHWAY AND SHATTERED GLASS IN HUNDREDS OF PIECES CAME INTO THE CAR. THE WINDOW HAD NO PRIOR ROCK CHIPS AND I DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING HIT THE VEHICLE-JUST A LOUD BANG LIKE A SHOT (NOT SUSPECTING A BULLET BUT IT SOUNDED LIKE ONE HIT) AND THE GLASS BROKE INTO HUNDREDS OF PIECES. WAS TRAVELING IN INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH. SO GLAD NO PASSENGER WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT BECAUSE I BELIEVE HE/SHE WOULD HAVE HAD GLASS HIT THEM. GLASS WENT EVEN INTO THE BACK SEAT. I REPLACED THE WINDOW AT A GLASS COMPANY. HONDA HAD A RECALL OF FRONT DOOR GLASS IN 2011 ON THE ODYSSEY-WONDER IF THIS IS THE SAME GLASS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA CR-V. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT A LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED RAPIDLY. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WENT OVER A CURB AND CRASHED INTO A TREE WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE REAR AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WERE DAMAGED AND THE CONTACT WAITED FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO MAKE ITS DECISION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED AS OF YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,200.
WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE CAR, ENGINE SHUTS OFF.THE RPM DROPS AND ENGINE SHUTS OFF.
WE WERE TRAVELING ON A ROAD AT 55 MPH. ANOTHER VEHICLE ABRUPTLY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF US AT 10 MPH. OUR DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO AVOID COLLISION BY SWERVING TO THE RIGHT MEDIAN. THE IMPACT WAS OUR FRONT DRIVER SIDE HITTING THE OTHER DRIVER'S BACK PASSENGER SIDE. ACCORDING TO WITNESS STATEMENTS, OUR CAR WENT AIR BORN AND INTO A MULTIPLE SPIN SITUATION. WE TOOK OUT A GUARD RAIL. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED ON ALL SIDES OF THE VEHICLE, EXCEPT THE ROOF. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. POLICE RULED FAULT WAS THE OTHER DRIVER. WE WERE WEARING SEAT BELTS. LUGGAGE FLEW OUT THE BACK WINDOW, APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET INTO THE ROAD. THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED SUCCESSFULLY. NEITHER FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED. GLASS IN WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED, BUT PART OF THE GUARD RAIL (WE THINK) TOOK OUT THE GLASS IN A CIRCULAR PATTERN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
ON MAY 4, 2019 I STARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABOUT TO DRIVE OUT AND THE CAR COULD MOVE FORWARD WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE POSITION. IT REVERSE INSTEAD. AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES, I HAD TO CALL THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND A TOW TRUCK REMOVED THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER I BOUGHT I FROM. THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NO GOOD. AFTER WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH FOR IT TO BE FIXED, I PICKED IT UP AND WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PERFORMANCE. I BROUGHT IT BACKAND WAS TOLD THAT THE SOUND I WAS HEARING COMES FROM A "FLAT SPOT IN THE TIRE SINCE IT WAS SITTING THERE FOR A LONG TIME AND I SHOULD DRIVE IT FOR A MONTH AND IF NO CHANGES I SHOULD BUY NEW TIRE. " THAT DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME SO HERE I AM TRYING TO FIGUR IT OUT, VERY DISGRUNTLED, AND DISSATISFIED!!. ON TOP OF THAT THE VIBRATING OF THE CAR ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S IDLING... IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME FOR A CAR THIS NEW TO BE IN THIS CONDITION. I NEED SOME HELP TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE.
AIRBAG SEAT BELT LIGHT REMAINS ON BUT IS INTERMITTENT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. NOT COVERED THROUGH HONDA OR EXTENDED WARRANTY. UNABLE TO GET A CODE USING A BOSCH LIVE DATA PLUS CODE READER. SEAT BELTS DO NOT RETRACT PROPERLY. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS PART OF THE HONDA RECALL OR RECENT FEDERAL INVESTIGATION OPEN ON THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT. THIS AIRBAG/SEATBELT LIGHT WILL STAY ON THE ENTIRE TIME I AM DRIVING. BU MAY NOT DUPLICATE THE NEXT TIME I START UP THE ENGINE. VERY CONCERNED AS HONDA MA NOT BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE AS LIGHT INTERMITTENT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THOUROGHLY:
THE CAR STALLS WHILE MOVING SLOWLY IN REVERSE. THIS IS DANGEROUS IN TWO WAYS. WAY ONE, WHILE MOVING IN REVERSE THE CAR STALLS, AND THUS I STOP MOVING WHEN I AND THE PEOPLE AROUND ME THOUGHT I WOULD CONTINUE. THE SECOND WAY IS I OFTEN END UP REVERSING MORE QUICKLY WHEN I FEEL THE CAR BEGINNING TO STALL, THIS KEEPS THE CAR FROM STALLING BUT CAUSES ME TO MOVE IN REVERSE FASTER THAN I WOULD LIKE TO. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED FROM A COLD START (AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT). . THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO ME FOR AT LEAST HALF A YEAR. NOT EVERY TIME I START THE CAR, BUT AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN JUNE 2015. ALSO IN GENERAL THE CAR SHUDDERS SIGNIFICANTLY WHILE IDLING IN DRIVE. I FEAR THAT SOON THE CAR MAY START STALLING IN DRIVE AS WELL WHILE IT IS IDLING. MANY PEOPLE REPORT THESE SAME ISSUES ONLINE, AND A RECALL SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE THE PROBLEM GETS WORSE AS THE CARS AGE.
HONDA CR-V NEEDS RANDOM JUMP STARTS DESPITE HAVING A NEW BATTERY. PROBLEM BEGAN LESS THAN A YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. HEADLIGHTS DIM ON OCCASION AFTER INITIAL START AS IF THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED BY BATTERY ALONE INSTEAD OF ALTERNATOR. DEALERSHIP INITIALLY STATED THAT IT WAS THE BATTERY AND THEN SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I ASKED THE MECHANICS IF THE CAR'S COMPUTER DID SELF DIAGNOSTICS AFTER STOPPING THE ENGINE. THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T KNOW UNTIL TOWED AFTER EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM OCCURS AFTER SHUTTING DOWN ENGINE. IT'S COMPLETELY RANDOM AND OCCURS ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. I CAN TELL THE NIGHT BEFORE IT NEEDS A JUMP WHEN THEY HONDA CR-V HESITATES BEFORE STARTING.
TAKATA RECALL 2.4L VTC ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT I HAVE HAD A FEW HONDAS WITH THIS ENGINE IT IS VERY COMMON IN THIS ENGINE THE VTC SYSTEM RELIES ON PROPER OIL PRESSURE AND ALLOWS THE VTC ACTUATOR TO MAKE CONTINUOUS INTAKE VALVE TIMING CHANGES BASED ON OPERATING CONDITIONS. INTAKE VALVE TIMING IS OPTIMIZED TO ALLOW THE ENGINE TO PRODUCE MAXIMUM POWER. IF AN ERROR OCCURS, THE VTC SYSTEM CONTROL IS DISABLED AND THE VALVE TIMING IS NO LONGER VARIABLE. I DID PURCHASE THE HONDA CARE ., I HAVE SINCE ( TODAY) BROUGHT THE VEHICLE, WHEN DRIVING THERE IS A NOTICEABLE PULL THE RIGHT. TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP IN HOPES OF FINDING OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE STEERING, TIRES BRAKES ETC.
CAR NEEDS 1 QUART OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAKAGE IN DRIVEWAY OR GARAGE.
SPORADICALLY I HAVE TO PUSH START BUTTON TWO OR THREE TIMES TO GET CAR TO START. PURCHASED CAR NEW. BATTERY TESTED GOOD. AFTER TALKING WITH MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME IT WAS JUST A GLITCH, I FINALLY LEFT HIM THE CAR. TURNED OUT TO BE STARTER. THEY REPLACED BUT I HAD TO PAY $100.00 DEDUCTABLE ON EXTENDED WARRANTY.

WHILE DRIVING, MY WATER PUMP SEIZED CAUSING MY DRIVE BELT TO DISENGAGE MY DRIVE TRAIN. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO OVER HEAT AS WELL AS THE BELT TO RUB ON THE ENGINE. THE FRICTION FROM THIS CAUSED THE BELT TO START THROWING EMBERS. THE SMOKE FROM THE BURNING BELT IS WHAT INDICATED TO ME THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE AND EMBERS MADE ME FEAR THAT MY CAR HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. AFTER GETTING MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE CLOSEST AUTO SHOP I WAS INFORMED ABOUT TSB ID #A17-063. SERVICE BULLETIN - THE WATER PUMP SEIZED OR THE DRIVE BELT SHREDDED. THE WATER PUMP BEARING IS OUT OF SPECIFICATION. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A RECALL. HAD THIS HAPPENED AT A DIFFERENT TIME AND PLACE, IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR IF I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD FAST ENOUGH I FEAR THAT MY CAR WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE.
WINDSHIELD WIPER WASHER WAS FROZEN WHILE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON US HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH ROAD SPRAY OF SALT COVERED WINDSHIELD MAKING ZERO VISIBILITY AND WASHER DID NOT WORK, ZERO VISIBILITY.. TERRIFYING ORDEAL TO SAY THE LEAST TRYING TO MAKE IT TO SIDE OF ROAD
GAS IMPROPERLY LEAKING INTO THE OIL. MY ORIGINAL ENGINE FAILED WITH NO ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS CONFIRMING THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A DIFFERENT USED ENGINE AND AFTER 2,500 MILES ON OIL INSTALLED IN DECEMBER 2018, SENT THE OIL TO A BLACKSTONE LABS FOR TESTING ON FEB 1, 2019. THEY CONFIRMED HIGH LEVELS OF GAS IN THE OIL. MY ORIGINAL ENGINE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AND IT WILL BE REPEATED AGAIN IF WE CANT GET HONDA TO OWN THIS PROBLEM.THEIR RESPONSE SO FAR IS THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAPPEN DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IN THE MIDWEST. THE FIRST SIGN IS THE OIL DIPSTICK SHOWING OIL LEVELS RISING OVER WEEKS. THE FINAL RESULT FROM THE LOWERED COMBUSTION TEMPERATURE OF THE OIL IS AN EVENT WHICH CONVERTS THE REMAINING OIL TO SLUDGE WHICH CAUSES ENGINE FAILURE WITHIN A SHORT TIME FRAME AFTER THE CAR COOLS DOWN. IT'S NOT CLEAR HOW THE HIGH LEVELS OF GAS IN THE OIL CAUSES THE ENGINE FAILURE OR HOW THE OIL CONVERTS TO SLUDGE WITHIN WEEKS.
PURCHASED THIS CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE FROM LOCAL HONDA DEALER WITH 11K MILES IN JULY, 2017. SINCE NOVEMBER 2018 VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS WITHOUT WARNING AND WILL NOT REMAIN RUNNING AFTER REPEATED STARTS. HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND HAD TOWED TO DEALER. FIRST DIAGNOSIS RESULTED IN FUEL ADJUSTMENT SETTINGS. SECOND, REPLACED THROTTLE ASSEMBLY . THIRD, FIXED A CONNECTOR'S PIN TO FUEL PUMP. SOMETHING IS EFFECTING THE FUEL PUMP, EG SENSOR OR COMPUTER. AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE HONDA FUEL PROBLEM TODAY (2/15/19) ON NATIONAL NEWS IT DESCRIBES MY EXPERIENCE BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED. IT'S STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH 22K MILES.
MULTIPLE HONDA BATTERIES DIED ON THE SAME CAR. ORIGINAL BATTERY DIED WITHIN MONTHS OF PURCHASING BRAND NEW CAR. THE DEALER REPLACED THEN THE REPLACEMENT DID THE SAME THING. THEY REPLACED IT. NOW THE BATTERY IS DYING AGAIN. WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE FOR EVEN 20 MINUTES. WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. DEAD. JUMP IT. DEAD AT THE VERY NEXT STOP. THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY STORIES ON HONDA MESSAGE BOARDS ALL OVER THE INTERNET OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT THING. I'M A SINGLE WOMAN WHO HAS TO BE ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT. I COULD BE MURDERED IN A PARKING LOT TRYING TO JUMP START THE CAR WHEN IT DIES AFTER 10 - 20 MINUTES. HONDA KNOWS THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY PEOPLE AND THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO FIX IT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
THE REAR LEFT BRAKE ON THE CAR IS MALFUNCTIONING. THE CAR IS LESS THAN THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS AVERAGE MILES, APPROXIMATELY 44,000. AROUND A WEEK AND A HALF AGO, 11.27.18 THE REAR BRAKE STARTING TO MAKE A RUBBING SOUND SIMILAR TO A LOW PAD. WITHIN TWO DAYS THE SOUND WENT FROM A LOW RUBBING/SQUEAKING SOUND TO A METAL ON METAL GRINDING SOUND. WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED THEN RELEASED YOU CAN STILL HEAR THE SOUND OF THE WORN OUT INTERIOR REAR LEFT PAD RUBBING AGAINST THE ROTOR. THE CALIPER IS NOT RELEASING ALL THE WAY AND IS MALFUNCTIONING. IT TAKES A GOOD 10 SECONDS UNTIL THE CALIPER FULLY RELEASES FROM THE ROTOR AND FOR THE GRINDING SOUND TO DISAPPEAR. THE PADS THEMSELVES ON THE REST OF THE CAR ARE APPROXIMATELY 75% FULL. THE CAR WAS SERVICED FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON 10.22.18 AND WE WERE TOLD THE BRAKES ARE GREAT AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING PERFECTLY. THE REST OF THE PADS ARE STILL IN GREAT SHAPE EXCEPT FOR THE REAR LEFT INTERIOR PAD. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED UNTIL THE CAR COMES TO A STOP. IF BRAKING OCCURS DURING DRIVING TO SLOW DOWN BUT TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE SOUND OCCURS AND CONTINUES AFTER THE PEDAL HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. SOME TIMES RELEASING THE PEDAL WHILE DRIVING DOES NOT FULLY RELEASE THE CALIPER, IT HAS TO BE USED AGAIN UNTIL IT FULLY RELEASES.
VEHICLE (WITH 89,000 MILES) EXPERIENCED MISFIRING AND MAJOR LOSS OF ACCELERATION WHILE TRAVELING UPHILL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. UPON REMOVING THE CYLINDER HEAD, THE DEALER NOTICED SIGNIFICANT CARBON BUILDUP ON INTAKE VALVES AND BENT VALVES. OWNER HAD FOLLOWED ALL REQUIRED MANUFACTURER MAINTENANCE AND USED TOP TIER GASOLINE, BUT KEPT RPMS LOW WHILE DRIVING. MANUFACTURER'S EXTENDED WARRANTY INITIALLY WOULD NOT COVER DESPITE KNOWN CARBON BUILDUP ISSUES WITH GDI ENGINES AND LACK OF SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE COVERING INTAKE CLEANING. ULTIMATELY, CYLINDER HEAD AND FUEL INJECTORS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
THE VEHICLE ALWAYS SEEMED TO HAVE ISSUES WHEN IDLING. AFTER 3 YEARS, IT TURNS OUT THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAD A BAD DIODE. I REPLACED THE BATTERY AFTER GETTING STUCK AND THEN FOLLOWED UP WITH A DIAGNOSTIC OF THE STARTER, ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY. IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY, THE ALTERNATOR WAS ONLY CHARGING THE BATTERY 84%. IN ADDITION, IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BATTERIES USED BY HONDA AND SOME OTHER POSSIBLE ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS PER ONLINE BLOGS. TO BE HONEST, MY VEHICLE IS 38 MONTHS OLD AND HAS APPROX 51K MILES, MAKING IT OUT OF WARRANTY. IT WOULD ALSO BE FAIR TO SAY THAT AFTER HAVING WORK DONE AT THE DEALER THROUGH OUT THE YEARS THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE SHON UP OR BEEN ADDRESSED SOONER. IT IS ALSO OF MY OPINION THAT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

IT'S EMBARRASSING THAT ANYONE IN THE CAR ALSO COMMENTS AND THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A NEWER CAR THAT I WAS HAPPY ABOUT AND PROUD OF. I HAVE SINCE SEEN REVIEWS ONLINE OF SO MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS. WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT INTERSECTION ON BUSY CITY STREET, CAR IDLE IN DRIVE GEAR, TERRIBLE VIBRATIONS SHOOK THE WHOLE CAR BEFORE ENGINE SHUT OFF. CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON OR SHIFT TO PARK UNTIL PLACED IN ACCESSORY MODE. PARK. ENGINE AND ACCESSORY MODE OFF THEN NORMAL STARTING PROCEDURE TO GET CAR RUNNING AGAIN.
MY CAR BEGAN SHAKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SHUT DOWN AS I WAS DRIVING. WAS TOWED TO HONDA, THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, FIXED A RECALL AND SENT ME BACK OUT ON THE ROAD. IT THEN HAPPENED A SECOND TIME, CAR STARTED SHAKING WHILE DRIVING AND SHUT DOWN AS I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN HIGHWAY ALMOST KILLING MYSELF AND OTHERS. TOWED TO HONDA AGAIN AND THEY SAID A GASKET SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND WASN'T VIEWABLE TO THE EYE, ENGINE NOW NEEDS REPLACED. I SEE OTHER ENGINE RECALLS ON THIS CAR AND WONDER IF THIS IS A PART OF WHAT HAPPENED WITH MY VEHICLE. IT ONLY HAS 65,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND ITS SUCH A SHAME THAT I NOW HAVE TO EITHER PURCHASE A NEW ENGINE OR SELL MY VEHICLE. I'VE BEEN BATTLING THAT HONDA SHOP FOR MONTHS NOW

THE CONTACT'S SON CHECKED THE VIN FOR RECALLS HOWEVER, NO RECALLS WERE DISCOVERED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.
OUTER REAR BRAKE PADS WEAR PREMATURELY, 1ST SET WORE OUT AT 15K MILES, REPLACED BY DEALER AND NOT COVERED. 2ND SET LASTED 5K MILES, ALSO NOT COVERED, DAMAGED ROTORS. NOW BEING TOLD CAR NEEDS TO GO BACK TO DEALER EVERY FEW THOUSAND MILES FOR BRAKES TO BE INSPECTED
IF YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN ACCESSORY MODE OR ON BATTERY WITHOUT TURNING THE ENGINE ON THE BATTERY WILL DIE.
