44,000 miles all warning lights come on. Dealer says, need new injectors and a pipe. to my knowledge injectors were redesigned. still coming on but car runs smoot. and very good gas mileage.
EVERY EARRING LIGHT COMES ON THE DASHBOARD AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. THE CAR ABRUPTLY STOPPED WHEN I WAS TRAVELING 30MPH. THE ORANGE BREAK LIGHT FLASHED AND THE CAR STOPPED ITSELF WHEN COMING ACROSS A METAL PLATE IN THE ROAD. LUCKILY THERE WASN'T ANY VEHICLE BEHIND ME OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER SAID SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES WERE NEEDED AND THE A/C CONTROL PANEL NEEDED REPLACED. PLUS AND OIL CHANGE WAS NEEDED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE A/C CONTROL PANEL. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE MARCH 2020. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR ALL OIL CHANGES AND SERVICING SINCE I'VE OWNED THE CAR. I TOLD THE TECH LAST OIL CHANGE ABOUT THE WARNING LIGHT ISSUE AND HE SAID JUST DRIVE THE CAR IN NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED BECAUSE THEY NEEDED THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING.
1ST OWNER 2017 CRV WITH 51000. DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY. CHECK ENGINE AND ALL SAFETY ASSIST FAILURE. DRIVE FOR A FEW DAYS AND LIGHT RESET. FEW MORE DAYS AND AGAIN THIS HAPPENS AND ENGINE ALSO LOOSES POWER. (HAVE NEWBORN IN THE CARE AND 3 YEAR OLD).OBD READER DISPLAYS CODES P0304 AND P0172. TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AS THEIR IS EXTENDED WARRANTY ON OIL DILUTION PROBLEM. RE-TEST AND 4TH FUEL INJECTOR FAULTY. NOT COVERED BY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. I CALL HONDA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO "GOODWILL" PART OF THE $1500 COST RATHER ADMITTING THAT THERE IS A FUEL INJECTOR ISSUE LIKE ON OTHER MODELS. COULD OF ENDED IN A MAJOR CAR ACCIDENT WITH CHILDREN! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA.
Dear NTHSA, Since last fall/winter my 2017 Honda CRV air conditioning system makes noise and has stopped cooling when its hot outside. This is a relatively new car with low mileage (24,000). I am taking it to my local dealer www.pierceyhonda.com for diagnosis. Are you aware of air conditioner problems in newer Honda CRVs like mine that are failing to cool on hot days like what I am reporting. Please help at your earliest convenience. DESIGN OR INSTALLATION OF WIRING HARNESS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE AIR CONDITIONER WIRE TO THE PRESSURE SENSOR TO BREAK. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE, HOWEVER, THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF FIRE OCCURRING IN OTHER CRV VEHICLES HAVING A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS. REPLACING THE HARNESS IS ALMOST ENTIRELY LABOR AT A COST OF ALMOST $600.00
AT 60-70K MILES, THE 2017 CR-V MODEL HAS BEEN WIDELY SHOWN TO HAVE FUEL INJECTORS THAT FAIL. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES FOLLOWED BY AN EMISSIONS WARNING THAT PROMPTED ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEY INSPECTED AND INFORMED ME IT WOULD BE $1600 TO REPAIR DUE TO FUEL INJECTOR MALFUNCTION (CODES P0172, P219D) AND GASOLINE DILUTING THE ENGINE OIL AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR OTHER OIL DILUTION ISSUES. I STARTED DOING RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AROUND THE MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE (65K MILES 3.5 YEARS OLD) AND OTHER OWNERS OF THIS PARTICULAR MODEL YEAR HAVE LOBBIED TO HONDA TO HAVE PART OR ALL OF THE REPAIR PAID FOR (AN AT LEAST PARTIAL ADMISSION THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HONDA.) THIS EMISSION ERROR HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
I SCAN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH OBD SCANNER AND ITS SHOWS P219F CODE. I SEARCH ON GOOGLE AND ITS COME TO THIS DESCRIPTION. WHEN A CODE P219F IS STORED, IT MEANS THAT THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) HAS DETECTED AN IMBALANCE ERROR IN THE NUMBER FOUR CYLINDER. TO MONITOR THE AIR TO FUEL RATIO FOR EACH CYLINDER OF THE ENGINE, THE PCM USES DATA INPUT FROM HEATED EXHAUST OXYGEN SENSORS (SOMETIMES CALLED AIR FUEL SENSORS) AND THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) AND CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSORS. I SAW ONLINE AND LOTS OF PEOPLE HAS SAME PROBLEM IN HONDA CRV 2017-18 MODEL. I ALREADY REPORTED PROBLEM BEFORE WITH HONDA BUT GET STANDARD REPLY.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the brake warning light displayed. The failure occurred without an object nearby the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no service was performed. Additionally, while starting the vehicle, the emissions and brake warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while driving in the rain, the Lane Departure Assist warning light displayed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2017 HONDA CRV LAST NIGHT AND OUT OF NOWHERE, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ACROSS THE DASHBOARD, INCLUDING DISABLING TRACTION CONTROL, ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND EMISSIONS SAFETY, AMONG MANY OTHER ERRORS. THESE SYSTEMS PROVIDE SAFE DRIVING SO THEY ARE ESSENTIAL FOR USE, AND ALSO FRIGHTENING TO HAVE DEACTIVATED WHEN CRUISING DOWN THE STREET IN DOWNTOWN DENVER, SURROUNDED BY TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS. THE CAR HAS LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE WARNING LIGHT ON, INCLUDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES DID NOT FIX IT AND SO IT WILL NEED DEALER REPAIR. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I'VE NOTICED THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH 2017-2018 HONDA CRVS AND IS AFFECTING A LOT OF OTHER DRIVERS. THIS CAR FEELS VERY UNSAFE IF ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS KICK ON AND OFF AS THEY PLEASE, SEEMINGLY AT RANDOM. MY AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT WORKING AND I'M VERY CONCERNED. IV BEEN SEARCHING AND THIS PARTICULAR YEAR SEEMS TO HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH AIR CONDITIONING NOT PROPERLY WORKING.. IT JUST BLOW HOT AIR. FOR A VEHICLE ONLY 4 YEARS OLD DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT.. I BELIEVE THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS WORKING (ENGAGING)
CAR BATTERY CONTINUES TO DIE AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS OF NON USE. GOING TO TAKE IT TO HONDA DEALER FOR THE 4TH TIME. TOLD ME NUMEROUS TIMES NOTHING IS WRONG AND I NEED TO DRIVE IT MORE, WHICH I AM YET IT'S STILL HAPPENED.
ALL ADA WARNING LIGHTS COME ON WHEN VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT DRIVABILITY BUT ALL FUNCTIONS ARE DISABLED. LIGHTS HAVE GONE OFF ON THEIR OWN ONCE OTHER TIMES HAD TO CYCLE POWER ON COMPUTER TO RESET. PROBLEM IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT
WHILE DRIVING UNDER ORDINARY CONDITIONS, WARNING SYSTEMS BEGIN. THE FIRST WARNING IS TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THE AWD SYSTEM IS OVERHEATING. FROM THAT POINT, MANY DIFFERENT WARNING MESSAGES BEGIN SCROLLING WITH REPEATED WARNINGS OF ALL SYSTEMS IN THE CAR FAILING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS APART. ALSO, ON ONE OCCASSION, WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH TO CAUTION A SLOW DOWN, AND THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES ON ANY SIDE OF THE CAR. AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS, THE COMPUTER SEEMS TO "RESET" ITSELF, AND NORMAL OPERATION IS RETURNED. ALL INSTANCES OCCURRED DURING NORMAL CITY DRIVING AT SPEEDS BELOW 35 MILES PER HOUR.
START CAR AFTER PUTTING DRIVE ALL ALARMS GO OFF AND BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY APPLY IN WHEN DRIVING. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME I ONLY HAVE ONE CAR AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT!
THERE IS A FUEL/OIL RATIO ISSUE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RELEASE A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF SMOKE WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP OR WHEN PARKED. THE SMOKE DOES LESSEN WHEN DRIVING CONTINUALLY WITHOUT A STOP.
AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL
HONDA CRV 2017 KEEPS DRAINING BATTERY EVEN AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF AND CAUSING ROUTINE SERVICE CALLS. IT ALSO TRIGGERS SECURITY SYSTEM ALARM TO GO OFF RANDOMLY AND CAR BEGINS TO REFLECT LIKE STARTING ON IT'S OWN WITH DISPLAYS RUNNING EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS IN THE CAR AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF. HOPE SUCH THINGS DO NOT HAPPEN ON ROAD WHEN PARKED AND CREATE OTHER ISSUES
FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. THEY WILL GO OFF AT TIMES, OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO RESTART MY CAR. IN ADDITION, MY DISPLAY WILL GO DIM OR GET VERY BRIGHT ON IT'S OWN. ON FEBRUARY 27, 2021 MY ALARM STARTED TO GO OFF FOR NO REASON. THEY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NO ONE WAS NEAR THE REMOTE. I COULD NOT GET THE ALARM TO GO OFF, NO MATTER WHAT I DID. ON MONDAY, MARCH 1ST I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START OR RESPOND TO ANYTHING WITH THE REMOTE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, VALLEY HONDA IN MONROEVILLE, PA. THEY STATED THAT IT COULD BE THE BATTERY HAVING LOW VOLTAGE. THE DEALERSHIP IS OVER 45 MINUTES AWAY AND I NEEDED A VEHICLE TO HELP CARE FOR MY ILL FATHER SO I PURCHASED A NEW BATTERY AND INSTALLED IT LATE MONDAY NIGHT. AS SOON AS I STARTED THE VEHICLE ALL OF THE DASHBOARDS LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND THE ALARM WOULD RANDOMLY GO OFF. THIS CONTINUED UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON WEDS NIGHT. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BODY CONTROL MODULE. MY CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 50K MILEAGE BUT THE HONDA WARRANTY IS OUT. I EVEN CALLED HONDA WHO ONLY OFFERED A COURTESY PARTIAL PAYMENT, AS LONG AS I DID NOT PICK UP MY VEHICLE UNTIL THEY FINISHED THEIR INVESTIGATION. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR MY DISPLAY TO HAVE BEEN ACTING UP OR A NEED TO REPLACE A BCM WITH A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD!
GEAR SHIFTER BUTTON POPPED OUT AND AS A RESULT I COULD NOT TURN OFF THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT ABOUT TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE WHEN IT HAPPENED. SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND FROM DRIVE TO PARK ALSO WAS VERY TRICKY.
ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AFTER ENGINE START EG, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, POWER STEERING FAILURE, DRIVER ASSIST, ETC. IT WAS EVERY LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO HONDA IN WAS DIAG. WITH PO172 ENGINE RUNS RICH. HONDA BULLENTIN 19-032 WAS PERFORM WHICH INCLUDED REPLACING THE A/C CONTROL UNIT AND SOFTWARE UPDATE. AFTER ONE MONTH AND LESS THAN ANOTHER 1000 MILERS DRIVEN I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS MY FUEL INJECTORS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR $1400. THE CAR HAS 38000 MILES ON IT AND JUST CAME OFF WARRANTY. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND APPARENTLY HAPPENS IN COLDER CLIMATES BUT I LIVED IN GA. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE
SHIFT KNOB BUTTON FELL OFF WHILE IN DRIVE
VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP. HAD BEEN VERY COLD WEATHER FOR ABOUT THE WEEK PRIOR. ALSO, THE HEATER WOULDN'T GET WARM AND CAR TOOK FOREVER TO WARM UP.
All fuel injectors failed per Honda dealership. They pulled error code p0172 from the car. When the fuel injectors fail, all of the car dash lights go on; saying the car has disabled ALL of the car's safety features, including: collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, lane keeping assist, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control, electric parking brake, and tire pressure monitoring system.
Service Bulletin [XXX] dated [XXX] corrective actions (dual special software updates) where followed and the frequency of incidents dropped dramatically, but after multiple dealership visits (Hardin Honda of Anaheim, CA) the center stack touchscreen still blanks out randomly while driving. Yes, the full vehicle is available for inspection. The screen continues to also “freak out” as shown in the following videos where totally random commands are being made. The blackout happens more but this still occurs periodically too. Nothing seems to fully correct the root issue. I show the dealership the videos I’ve recorded showing the issue but does not occur by the time the technicians test drive it. When it first happened, because it was so dangerous losing many controls, I also opened a case with American Honda customer relations ( #[XXX]) with “Jose” who noted the details but there was no response or followup because I was two months over warranty despite low mileage and simply out of luck. He said ask the dealership for “good will assistance” and you should get the majority of it covered probably bring it down to around $300 a replacement center stack touchscreen rather than over $2,000. CAR BATTERY GETS DRAINED OUT OVER NIGHT AND IT'S NOT THE BATTERY OR THE ALTERNATOR. I'VE SEEN ONLINE MULTIPLE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS
MALFUNCTION INDICATORS ALL LIGHT UP AT THE SAME TIME. MECHANIC CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BUT HE RESETS THE COMPUTER AND THE LIGHTS GO OFF....TEMPORARILY! THE LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL I GO BACK TO THE MECHANIC. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY...IF I GO THERE, IT'LL COST A FORTUNE FOR THEM JUST TO LOOK AT IT, AND THEN ANOTHER FORTUNE FOR CHARGING TO 'FIX' THE PROBLEM. CAR IS STATIONARY...HAPPENS WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON. I LIVE IN TUCSON, AZ, SO I DOUBT IT'S THE WEATHER!
2017 CRV HAS 20K MILES. DROVE TO GOLF COURSE PARKING LOT. UPON RETURN SAW 10 INCH WINDSHIELD CRACK ON DRIVERS SIDE LOWER LEFT. SPONTANEOUS CRACK WITH NO IMPACT. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT INFORMATION ON WEB, INCLUDING TESTIMONIALS FROM HUNDREDS ON VARIOUS CHAT SITES, SEEM TO INDICATE AN INHERENT DEFECT IN THE VEHICLES WINDSHIELD/FRAME INTERACTION. INTERNET INFORMATION SEEMS TO SUGGEST THIS WIDESPREAD PROBLEM IS IMPACTING 2017-2019 CRV'S.
ENTIRE OPERATION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED CAUSING IMMEDIATE VEHICLE FAILURE. UNABLE TO PULL OVER OR MOVE OUT OF TRAFFIC. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION WITH COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGH SPEED WITH NO WARNING. ALL DASH LIGHTS LIT UP/BLINKING. MANY SYSTEM ERRORS DISPLAYED ON MAIN DRIVER SCREEN NEAR STEERING WHEEL. THE SCREEN ERRORS QUICKLY READ THROUGH MULTIPLE ERRORS, INCLUDING POWER STEERING LOSS, TIRE PRESSURE LOSS, HILL CONTROL LOSS, ETC. THE SCREENS WERE GOING SO QUICKLY AND CAR WAS BEEPING LIKE IT HAD LOW GAS. BUT THE ONLY THING WE COULD DO WAS GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WE HAVE DRIVEN THOUSANDS OF MILES IN MANY TYPES OF CARS AND SITUATIONS AND THIS WAS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORST MALFUNCTIONS WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. IF THERE IS AN ELECTRONIC PROBLEM OR SITUATION WHERE YOUR CAR IS BREAKING THEN IT SHOULD SAY PULL OVER IMMEDATELY. IT WAS NO HELP TO FLASH THROUGH AN ARRAY OF FEATURES ON THE CAR HAVING ERROR. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!
2017 HONDA CRV EX-L AWD, PURCHASED NEW DEC 2017, ABOUT 37K MILES ON IT CURRENTLY. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO- ON 1/27/2021- I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY (WIFE AND TWO TODDLERS) ON HIGHWAY ROUTE 4 WESTBOUND IN NJ GOING ABOUT 50MPH WITH MODERATE TRAFFIC, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN - BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE AND ALL ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. I FRANTICALLY TRIED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND COULD NOT BE DEPRESSED. I TRIED REPEATEDLY TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES CAUSE THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS APPROACHING FAST AND THANKFULLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE BRAKES WERE ABLE TO BE DEPRESSED AND I SAFELY PULLED OVER TO THE NEAREST STRIP MALL PARKING LOT WITH ALL THE ERROR MESSAGES FLASHING AND BRAKE SYSTEM ILLUMINATED, I TOOK PHOTOS AND VIDEO ON MY PHONE AND JUST MADE SURE WE WERE ALL OK. MY WIFE AND I WERE TOTALLY FREAKED OUT CAUSE IF WE WEREN'T ABLE TO STOP WE WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE REAR ENDED THE APPROACHING VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US AT 50MPH CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IN THE PARKING LOT, WE TURNED OFF THE CAR AND BACK ON AND THE ERROR MESSAGES DISAPPEARED AND I WAS ABLE TO CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE BACK HOME. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. ERROR MESSAGES HAVE OCCURRED ONCE OR TWICE IN THE PAST IN INCLEMENT WEATHER AND A FEW OF THE DRIVER ASSIST FEATURES WERE NOT WORKING DUE TO THE WEATHER. BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE / INABILITY TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ALL ERRORS FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD. IF I BRING IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP I READ ONLINE THAT IF THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ERRORS THEN IT DOESN'T EXIST. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU.
CAR BRAKES SUDDENLY WITHOUT CAUSE. BRAKES ARE APPLIED ABRUPTLY SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH VISUAL WARNING. NO OBSTACLE PRESENT. THIS OCCURS AT LOW SPEED (LESS THAN 30 MPH) ON CITY STREETS. SEEMS TO BE TRIGGERED BY BRIGHT LINES ON ROAD SURFACE (RAILROAD TRACKS, RUMBLE STRIPS) PERPENDICULAR TO TRAVEL DIRECTION.WHEN USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL CAR MISINTERPRETS VEHICLE IN DECELERATION LANE ON INTERSTATE AS BEING PRESENT AND SLOWING IN TRAVEL LANE IN FRONT OF IT. THIS RESULTS IN RAPID DECELERATION IN THE TRAVEL LANE. FORTUNATELY THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY VEHICLES FOLLOWING CLOSE WHEN THESE EVENTS OCCUR. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT RESOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM.

ENGINE OIL HAS STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. ENGINE OIL IS OVERFULL ON THE DIPSTICK. LONG TERM AND SHORT TERM FUEL TRIMS ADDED TOGETHER ARE -20%.
THE SAFETY FEATURE REACTS TO SHADOWS ON THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3-4 TIMES WHERE IF I'M DRIVING UNDER A BRIDGE THE CAR WILL BEEP AND SHOW A MESSAGE ASKING ME TO HIT THE BRAKES. I THINK THE CAR SEES THE SHADOW OF THE BRIDGE ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME AS AN OBJECT AND IS ASKING ME TO STOP/ HIT THE BRAKES. IF THE CAR EVER APPLIES AUTOMATIC BRAKING, THEN THE CAR BEHIND ME CAN SLAM INTO ME CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
OIL LEVELS IN CAR ARE ABOVE THE DIPSTICK AND SMELL LIKE PETROLEUM HAS LEAKED INTO THE OIL. THE FIX THAT HONDA INTRODUCED FOR THE OIL DILUTION ISSUE HAS CLEARLY NOT WORKED. INSIDE OF CAR HAS A PETROLEUM SMELL. MAKES ME LIGHTHEADED/DIZZY. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY - STOP THE CAR AND AIR IT OUT. THERE WAS NOT ACCIDENT, BUT THIS CONTINUE ISSUE CAN CAUSE A MAJOR PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING INCLUDING ACCIDENT, INJURY AND DEATH.
All dashboard lights come on occasionally, since 40k miles. Car now has 70k. I've had it serviced regularly and battery replaced, nothing seems to work on preventing this from happening. Dangerous if system is reading that there is an issue when there is not, and it affects performance of the vehicle until they turn off on there own. Happens anywhere between 50 and +500 miles, no rhyme or reason outside of possibly linked to remote starter, which tends to more consistently occur when using.
ALL DASH LIGHT WARNINGS COME ON THE CAR SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHILE IDLING. WE HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO HONDA DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND THEY FIX A DIFFERENT PROBLEM EVERY TIME BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME IT'S THE FUEL INJECTORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY SO I WAS BE OUT OF POCKET $1200. QUICK INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THIS AS A COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL HONDA'S INCLUDING THE FIT AND PILOT FROM 2016,2017 AND NOW 2018 BUT THEY HAVE YET TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I AM RELEVANT TO PAY FOR FUEL INJECTORS ONLY TO HAVE MORE ISSUES. AND IF IT IS THE FUEL INJECTORS THEY SHOULD NOT BE FAILING ON A 3 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 50K MILES. WHERE'S THE RECALL OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR FUEL INJECTORS? THE IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN.
ENGINE OIL LEVELS ARE HIGH DUE EXCESSIVE DILUTION BY PETROLEUM. AS A RESULT THE OIL PAN IS HIGH CAUSING OIL LEAKS. THERE ARE NEW OIL DRIPS IN MY GARAGE EVERY DAY. I'M SURE THE ENGINE OIL IS LEAKING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN I DRIVE; I ALSO NOTICE OIL DRIPS ON THE GROUND AT WORK. THE OIL LEVEL CONTINUES TO BE HIGH EVEN WITH THE LEAKS. HONDA DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE OIL HAS PETROLEUM IN IT. HONDA ALSO ACCEPTS DILUTION IS NORMAL IN THEIR CARS WITH THIS ENGINE, YET THE DEALERSHIP DENIED ANY SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THE LEAK. THE DEALERSHIP SIMPLY ADDED A DYE AND ASKED THAT I CONTINUE DRIVING AND COME BACK FOR AN OIL CHANGE WHICH WILL BE DUE IN ABOUT 3000 MILES. THE OIL MIXED WITH PETROL CAUGHT ON FIRE WHEN I WAS SMOKING IN THE GARAGE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR EVERYONE THAT WORKS IN THEIR GARAGE, SMOKES, COOKS OR HAS A HEAT SOURCE NEAR IT. IT CAN CAUSE FIRE AND DEATH. HIGH CHANCES OF ENGINE STALLS DUE TO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE.
All dashboard warning lights come on They flash and cycle through. I have reported to Don Wessell Honda and Pineger Honda in Springfield, MO and Honda of Jefferson City, Jefferson City, MO. This stated sporadically in 2021 and is constant in 2023. I have paid for replacement parts based on the best guess of the problem. Scanning tool does not show codes. First alternator, then oxygen sensor and now injectors. Honda believes injectors are the problem. It is over $1,000.00 to replace them. I have found numerous people having the same issue on line. I believe these injectors should be covered under a recall. They are dangerous!!! When the flashing lights go off the car works fine; once they turn on, randomly, the car spurts and dies out. I have no power to drive. I have to manually turn off car and restart it to get power. This is extremely dangerous in the middle of the road. I purchased this vehicle new and had to have the computer replaced soon after I purchased it. It is beyond frustrating, expensive, and extremely dangerous to not have your car perform when your driving down the road. Please recall these injectors before I or someone else gets hurt or killed by the car losing power suddenly when driving. Thank you sincerely.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO SCHEDULE A RECALL REPAIR APPOINTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CAN NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE SHE JUST CHANGED THE OIL. THE CONTACT FELT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,400.

SHIFT KNOB BROKE OFF WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ISSUE HAD IT BROKE WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, OR SOME OTHER COMBINATION.
FOR 2 DAYS (FRI/SAT) WHEN REMOTELY LOCKING DOORS, THE DOORS WOULD LOCK BUT THERE WAS NO LIGHTS OR BEEP INDICATING THE DOORS WERE LOCKING. CHECKED MENUS TO ENSURE THE FEATURE WAS ON, IT WAS. ON SUNDAY, STOPPED FOR FUEL, FUELED UP, VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHILE AT THE PUMPS. CLICKING NOISE AND MULTIPLE LIGHTS ON DASH. ERROR MESSAGES: "ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM", "BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM", "TIRE PRESSURE LOW" AMONG OTHERS APPEARED. I COULD NOT DEACTIVATE THE PARKING BRAKE. QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWED A JUMP START WOULD REMEDY THE SITUATION, WHICH IT DID. REPLACED ORIGINAL BATTERY (3 YEARS OLD) HOWEVER, WHEN REMOTELY LOCKING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE LIGHTS ARE STILL NOT FLASHING AND NO BEEP IS HEARD. WILL BE MAKING APPOINTMENT AT DEALERSHIP, BUT BASED ON PAST PERFORMANCES OF DEALERSHIPS, NOT HOPEFUL A CAUSE OR SOLUTION WILL BE FOUND. I HAVE FOUND HONDA DEALERSHIPS ARE QUICK TO POINT BLAME TO THE DRIVER FOR AN ISSUE.
THE CAR INAPPROPRIATELY BRAKED, FULL STOP, TWO TIMES. THE LAST EVENT OCCURRED ON JAN 9, 2021. WE REPORTED BOTH INCIDENTS TO THE DEALER. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT IN JULY 2019, AND THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT REPLICATE. WE WERE INFORMED THE CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE SECOND DISCUSSION WITH THE DEALER (JAN 11, 2021) RESULTED IN THE RECOMMENDATION OF ADJUSTING THE SENSOR LENGTH UNDER CUSTOMIZE FEATURES. IT WAS DESCRIBED AS A POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENT BUT NOT A GUARANTEE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WE WILL MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT TONIGHT. BOTH OCCASIONS, THE STOP OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT SLOW SPEEDS WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, AND LUCKILY NO ONE BEHIND. IT WAS ALARMING THAT A SAFETY FEATURE COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HONDA CORPORATE'S RESPONSE WAS THAT THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED AND SEE THE MANUAL FOR THE LIMITATIONS. WE NO LONGER USE THE CAR FOR THE FAMILY.
1. VEHICLE INAPPROPRIATELY BRAKED TO A FULL STOP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. VEHICLE MOVING AT SLOW SPEED BOTH TIMES. OCCURRED IN JULY 2019 AND JAN 2021 INFORMED DEALER BOTH TIMES. VEHICLE INSPECTED AFTER THE FIRST TIME AND INDICATED SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED BUT ALARMING THAT AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED IF THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND US. 2. NO LONGER USING CRUISE CONTROL BECAUSE CAR INAPPROPRIATELY BRAKES. THE CAR HAS SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH WHERE WE HAD TO PRESS THE GAS TO AVOID A COLLISION ON THE HIGHWAY. THE BRAKING OCCURRED WHEN THERE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH DISTANCE BETWEEN OUR VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. WE DID NOT NOTIFY THE DEALER OR THIS ISSUE BECAUSE WE ASSUMED IT WAS A DESIGN ISSUE AND COULD NOT BE FIXED BY A TECHNICIAN. 3. ON THE HIGHWAY, PASSING CERTAIN EXITS TRIGGERS THE LANE DEPARTURE WARNING, FORCING THE CAR TO BRAKE. WE HAVE TO PRESS ON THE GAS IN ORDER TO DRIVE SAFELY THROUGH THE TROUBLE SPOTS TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED. WE HAVE GOTTEN TO KNOW CERTAIN EXITS BECAUSE THERE IS A CONCERN THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN UNEXPECTEDLY AS WE DRIVE NEW ROADS. WE VERBALLY COMMUNICATED THIS TO HONDA CORPORATE AND THE DEALER IN JAN 2021, AND THE RESPONSE WAS THAT THIS IS EXPECTED BEHAVIOR AND TO SEE THE MANUAL FOR LIMITATIONS OF THE SYSTEM. I DID RECEIVE CONFIRMATION THAT OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THIS CONCERN AS WELL. THE SAFETY FEATURES HAVE TRIGGERED ENOUGH FALSE POSITIVES FOR US THAT WE NO LONGER DRIVE THIS CAR WITH THE FAMILY AND ONLY WHEN NEEDED. SINCE WE HAVE OBSERVED OTHER REPORTS NOTING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES, WE ARE ASSUMING THAT THERE IS A TREND AND OTHERS SHARE THE SAME SAFETY CONCERNS.
VEHICLE ROLLS AWAY IN PARK. AT VARIOUS UNSPECIFIED TIMES THE VEHICLE FAILS TO MAINTAIN THE PARKING GEAR. FIRST EXAMPLE TOOK PLACE ON SLIGHTLY SLANTED DRIVEWAY: WHEN PLACED INTO PARK THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD (ALL WHEELS MOVING) AND OWNER JUMPED BACK IN TO HIT THE BRAKE SO AS TO AVOID ROLLING INTO ANYONE/ANYTHING. DEALERSHIP HAS DUPLICATED THE ISSUE MANY TIMES AND APPEARS UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE.
MY VEHICLE, A 2017 HONDA CRV EX-L HAS A 1.5 LITER TURBO ENGINE WITH APPROXIMATELY 148,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED WITH REGULAR FLUID AND OIL CHANGES. SEVERAL DAYS AGO MY CRV BEGAN LURCHING WITH A MISFIRE, FIRST THE POWER WAS GREATLY REDUCED AND THEN THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THEN ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAVE ON OCCASION SMELLED A GAS TYPE SMELL IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. A FRIEND HAS A OBD11 READER AND MY ENGINE SHOWED A P 0304 CODE WHICH IS A CYLINDER 4 MISFIRE AND A P 2097 CODE WHICH IS A POST CATALYTIC CONVERTER TOO RICH WARNING. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO LUTE RILEY HONDA IN RICHARDSON, TX AND A WARRANTY SERVICE WAS PERFORMED THAT I UNDERSTAND IS A RESETTING OF ENGINE CODES AND A HVAC CONTROL UNIT WAS REPLACED. UPON PICKING THE VEHICLE UP AFTER DRIVING JUST A FEW MILES THE ENGINE LURCHING RETURNED AND ULTIMATELY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND POWER WAS REDUCED TO ABOUT 10 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAPPENED IN AN INTERSECTION AND WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF AND STOP THE ENGINE. AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND WITH NO ENGINE LIGHT ON DROVE VERY SLOWLY TO MY HOME. I PLAN ON TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER IN THE MORNING.
REVERSE CAMERA FAILS TO DISPLAY ON CENTRAL SCREEN WHEN REVERSE IS ENGAGED. SOLUTION IS TO HARD RESET THE SYSTEM. THE ERROR FREQUENCY HAS INCREASED.
