WHILE DRIVING FOR OVER 3 HOURS ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH ALL THE IDIOT LIGHTS COME ON BLINKING AND SHOWING THAT ALL SYSTEMS ARE OFF. STOPPING THE CAR AND SHUTTING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING ALL IS RESTORED TO NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPEN 4 TIMES. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THIS. I AM TO TAKE A MOVIE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I WON'T BE GOING THAT FAR UNTIL AUGUST RETURNING IN SEPTEMBER. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THIS TRIP ONLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, IT WAS REAR ENDED AND CAUSED A CHAIN REACTION CRASH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS FAILED TO WORK AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IMPACT CAUSED THE PASSENGER TO BE THROWN FORWARD DUE TO THE SEAT BELT FAILING TO SECURELY RESTRAIN HER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BACK FRACTURED. THE DRIVER WAS ALSO THROWN FORWARD AND HIS CHEST MADE CONTACT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK AND PELVIS. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY. BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE ON 8/18/2018. I TURNED OFF ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. WE WENT ON VACATION FOR 2 WEEKS. ON 9/3/18 WE RETURNED AND WE COULD NOT START THE CAR. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AS IT WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. I RESEARCHED ON CRV FORUM AND THERE SEEMS TO BE A KNOWING PROBLEM WITH BATTERY SLOW DRAINAGE DUE TO SOFTWARE AND/OR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
WHEN I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY (20 TO 30 MPH) ON A CITY STREET, I NOTICED NOISE. I WENT OUT OF THE CAR AND NOTICED THE SPLASH GUARD WAS ALMOST TOUCHING THE GROUND. LATER ON, I HAD SOMEONE REMOVE THE SPLASH GUARD, AND NOTICED SOME SCREWS WERE MISSING. THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, SO I PAID THE DEALERSHIP TO INSTALL A NEW SPLASH GUARD. I CALLED HONDA.COM SUPPORT NUMBER, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I AM PRETTY SURE MY CAR DID NOT HIT ANYTHING SINCE IT WAS A CLEAR STREET AND I WAS DRIVING SLOW. IT WAS NOT CLEAR TO ME WHY IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. A SIDE NOTE: ON THAT SAME DAY, THE BATTERY ALSO DIED EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS JUST A LITTLE OVER ONE YEAR OLD. THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP DID REPLACE THE BATTERY FOR ME FOR FREE. IT WAS FRUSTRATING TO GET STUCK SOMEWHERE WITH TWO CAR ISSUES AT THE SAME TIME FOR A RELATIVELY NEW CAR.
GAS SMELL AFTER TURNING MOTOR OFF, GAS IN ENGINE OIL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED OIL DILUTION. WHEN THE CONTACT REMOVED THE OIL DIP STICK, THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL HIGH
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL WAS MIXING INTO THE ENGINE OIL. THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE BY LOCAL MEDIA THAT THE HONDA VEHICLES WAS HAVING FUEL MIXING INTO THE ENGINE OIL. THEREFORE, THE CONTACT CHECKED THE ENGINE DIPSTICK AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE DIPSTICK EMITTED A STRONG FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENGINE OIL TWICE. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED THE CONTACT CHECKED THE ENGINE DIPSTICK AND FOUND THAT THE DIPSTICK WAS STILL EMITTING A STRONG FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 09036858 AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A NOTICE WHEN THEY HAD A REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.
FUEL SMELL, OIL DILUTION, POTENTIAL UNEXPECTED ENGINE FAILURE

DCH HONDA OF NANUET (10 NY-304, NANUET, NY 10954, (845) 367-4380) STATED THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL AND OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V442000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WAS REFERENCED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000. *TT*JB
CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY WHEN ALL DASH LIGHTS COME ON, NO SYSTEMS WORK ACCORDING TO THE DASHBOARD. WHEN DASH LIGHTS WITH EVERY SINGLE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, ALL POWER AND ACCELERATION IS LOST. THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN AN INTERSECTION THE OTHER DAY AND LUCKILY THE CRV WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CRV WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN UNTIL I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS BLOGS WITH OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE. VTM-4 POPS UP ON THE RADIO SCREEN AS A PROBLEM. HONDA CLAIMS TO HAVE FIXED THIS ISSUE ON THE 2019 MODELS YET NO RECALL ON 2017 AND 2018 MODELS? THIS LOSS OF POWER AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE IS ESPECIALLY SCARY SINCE I HAVE 2 YOUNG KIDS THAT RIGHT WITH ME DAILY. CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK, REMOTE START HASN'T WORKED SINCE THIS ISSUE STARTED AROUND 60-70K MILES. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THIS MAJOR PROBLEM!
OIL IS GETTING DILUTED WITH GAS AND YOU CAN SMELL GAS FUMES IN THE CABIN MAKING THE CR-V UNSAFE.
ONCE WHILE MOVING THE CAR TO WASH IT, STARTED IT DIS-ENGAGED THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. THE ENGINE WAS COLD. THE SECOND TIME STARTED THE CAR AND TOOK A TWENTY MINUTE,10 MILE TRIP TO COSTCO. 30 MINUTES LATER STARTED THE CR-V, AGAIN DIS-ENGAGED THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF, THE CAR WAS WARM. TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG, BUT CHANGED THE ENGINE OIL WITH ONLY 2381 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
FUEL IS MIXING WITH THE MOTOR OIL AND DILUTING IT. OIL LEVEL RISES ABOVE THE FULL MARK ON THE OIL DIPSTICK AND HAS AN ODOR OF FUEL. I HAD A PROFESSIONAL OIL ANALYSIS PERFORMED THAT CONFIRMED THAT THE OIL IS BEING DILUTED AND VISCOSITY LOST. A COPY IS ATTACHED. THE FLASH POINT ALSO IS REDUCED. THIS PROBLEM COULD AFFECT ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING. THE DATE GIVEN IS THE DATE OF THE ATTACHED REPORT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE UNDERWENT AN OIL CHANGE, IT HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC HONDA OF MIDLAND (3705 W WALL ST, MIDLAND, TX 79703, (432) 681-1400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE TURBO SYSTEM WAS BLOWN. THE DEALER RECEIVED AUTHORIZATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO PERFORM TESTS TO SEE WHO WAS LIABLE FOR THE DAMAGE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED THE OIL CHANGE STATED THAT THE ENGINE MALFUNCTIONED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC RAN TESTS ON THE OIL FILTER AND CONCLUDED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS AT FAULT FOR THE TURBO SYSTEM FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CURRENTLY CONTESTING THE CLAIM. AS I WAS LEAVING THIS MORNING I HEARD SOMETHING CRACK AND FALL. I DIDN'T LOOK DOWN TO SEE WHAT IT WAS SINCE THE CAR MOVED INTO D WITH NO PROBLEM AND I DROVE TO WORK. WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO PARK (STOPPED) I LOOKED OVER AND NOTICED THE BUTTON YOU PUSH TO SELECT GEARS WAS MISSING I ONLY SAW A SPRING. I LOOKED DOWN AND SAW IT HAD FALLEN OFF. I WAS ABLE TO USE IT TO PUSH IN AND CHANGE GEARS, BUT I WASN'T ABLE TO SHUT IT OFF PROPERLY WITHOUT EFFORT WHEN STATIONARY.

SHIFT KNOB BROKEN, UNABLE TO SHIFT VEHICLE INTO PARK OR REVERSE. THE SHIFT KNOB HAS NOW BROKEN TWICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH, THE SHIFT BUTTON POPPED OUT AND THE SHIFTER SHAFT FRACTURED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ORR HONDA OF HOT SPRINGS (4701 CENTRAL AVE, HOT SPRINGS, AR 71913, 501-525-4565) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REALIGNED WITH NEW TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 08949491. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,100. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BROKEN SHIFT LEVER BUTTON. SERVICE ADVISOR SAYS HE IS SEEING SIMILAR OCCURRENCES 2 TO 3 TIMES A WEEK AND IN SOME INSTANCES CARS HAVE TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.
ON MONDAY, 8-20-18, THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM CAUSED THE CAR TO SLAM ON IT'S BRAKES. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIANS ANYWHERE NEAR THE VEHICLE. IN THE PAST, THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS LIT UP BEFORE WITH NO VEHICLES AROUND, BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAS SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT FINE, THEN PRINTED OUT A BUNCH OF PAPERS FOR ME EXPLAINING HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS, WHICH IS BASICALLY SAYING IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE THAT THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND US. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHICH NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

THERE IS GAS IN MY OIL. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES YET, BUT I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND KNOW THAT THIS IS DAMAGING MY VEHICLE.
WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT, THE FRONT WINDOW WENT DOWN AND THE CLOCK ROLLED BACK 30MINUTES
I OWN A HONDA CR-V /EX 1.5 LITER TURBO ENGINE. AUG 14 2018 NOTICED OIL LEVEL ON DIP STICK WAS ABOVE HIGHEST LEVEL INDICATOR AND OIL SMELLED OF GAS. CALLED INDEPENDENCE HONDA IN BLOOMSBURG PA AND BROUGHT VEHICLE ON AUG 21,1018 FOR APPOINTMENT TO CHECK THIS CONDITION. THEY CHANGED OIL AND TOLD ME THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND IS WORKING ON A FIX. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IN 3000 MILES FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE. THE SAME CONDITION WAS FOUND ON OCT 22, 2018 WHEN I BROUGHT IT BACK AFTER 3000 MILES. I WAS TOLD HONDA WOULD HAVE A FIX SOON. DECEMBER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA WITH PRODUCT UPDATE 2017-2018 CR-V . I CALLED INDEPENDENCE HONDA TO SCHEDULE THE UPDATE ON DEC. 26, 2018 , WHICH WAS PERFORMED. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS THE FIX FOR THIS GAS IN OIL PROBLEM. ON JAN, 23, 2019 I CHECKED THE OIL AND THE OIL LEVEL WAS 3/8" HIGHER THAN THE HIGHEST LEVEL INDICATOR ON THE DIP STICK AND THE OIL SMELLED OF GAS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO INDEPENDENCE THAT DAY FOR THEIR INSPECTION OF THE PROBLEM. AFTER THEIR INSPECTION THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A NORMAL CONDITION FOR THIS ENGINE. THIS WAS THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAVE BEEN TELLING ME FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS THAT HONDA KNOWS THE PROBLEM AND THEY WILL HAVE A FIX FOR IT. THE FIX HAS NOT WORKED ON MY VEHICLE. HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND INSTALL NEW COMPONENTS TO PREVENT THIS CONDITION AND ALSO EXTEND ENGINE WARRANTIES. I CONSIDER GAS IN THE OIL A SAFETY ISSUE. IF VEHICLE STALLS OR HAS EXCELERATION ISSUES IN TRAFFIC IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY.
TIME OF INCIDENT: MONDAY, AUGUST 14TH; 7:30 A.M. WHEN DEPRESSING THE SHIFT KNOB TO SHIFT TO REVERSE, THE BUTTON AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE ATTACHED DISINTEGRATED INTO 3 PIECES. ONCE THIS OCCURRED, I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS SO HAD TO ACTIVATE THE EMERGENCY BRAKES WHILE I TRIED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO SHIFT WITHOUT THE SHIFT KNOB. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT AND PARK THE VEHICLE BY INSERTING MY INDEX FINGER INTO THE SHAFT PORTION WHILE DEPRESSING THE BUTTON INSIDE THE BROKEN PORTION. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALER AND ADDRESSED THE ISSUE WITH PARAGON HONDA AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP OR HAVE IT TOWED. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP AFTER WORK IN THE EVENING, AND THE REPAIR SHOP DID NOT GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE TIME OF REPAIR WHEN REQUEST NEITHER DID THEY PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER VEHICLE AS STIPULATED IN THE CONTRACT SIGNED WITH THE DEALER WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED IN FEBRUARY 2018. THIS ISSUE NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION SINCE IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE ACCIDENTS IN UNEXPECTED CONDITIONS.
BATTERY WENT TOTALLY DEAD. DROVE 1.5 HR .AWAY FROM HOME VEHICLE SAT FOR 7 HR. RETURNED TO THE CAR AND DEAD. HAD TO BE JUMPED BY SECUIRTY. DROVE HOME STARTED IT A FEW TIMES AND THE NEXT DAY AND IT WAS FINE. I READ WHERE THERE IS A TSB 17-032. SOFTWARE BUG. DROVE TO WORK, WE'LL SEE IF IT STARTS TO GET HOME. GOING TO DEALERSHIP IN THE MORNING. NO DOCUMENTATION, SECURITY GUARD HAD ME FILL OUT A PAPER FOR THEIR RECORDS
MY CAR WHEN 1ST TIME START ENGINE IN AM ,THE WHOLE CAR SHACKING ABNORMAL AND THE GASOLINE SMELL SOME TIME BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT WRONG
A FEW WEEKS AGO, MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND NOTICED A GASOLINE SMELL IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT, WHICH LASTED A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND WENT AWAY. ON ANOTHER OCCASION WE NOTICED THE SMELL AGAIN. I CHECKED THE FUEL FILL TUBE BUT FOUND NO PROBLEM THERE. I ALSO CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND DETECTED A FUEL SMELL BUT SAW NO EVIDENCE OF A LEAK. WHILE UNDER THE HOOD I CHECKED THE OIL AND SMELLED A STRONG FUEL SMELL IN THE OIL. THE FLUID LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK WAS 7/8' ABOVE FULL LEVEL. I CHECKED AND DOUBLE CHECKED THE LEVELS AND SMELL AND THERE WAS DEFINITELY GASOLINE IN THE OIL. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP (JOHNSON CITY HONDA IN JOHNSON CITY, TN) AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE 1.5L ENGINE WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN AT LOW SPEEDS AND SHOULD BE 'DRIVEN AT HIGHER SPEEDS ON THE FREEWAY TO 'BURN OFF' THE FUEL IN THE OIL'! (WE HAD JUST RETURNED FROM A 750 MILE INTERSTATE TRIP).THEY DID CHANGE THE OIL BUT THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEN THE OIL LEVEL HAS INCREASED TO ' ABOVE FULL LEVEL AND THE FUEL SMELL IS PRESENT. IN MY OPINION, GASOLINE IN THE OIL PRESENTS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THAT IT CAN IGNITE UNDER EXTREME HEAT CONDITIONS AND CAN CAUSE RESPIRATORY ISSUES WITH PASSENGERS WHEN THE SMELL MIGRATES TO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I HAVE RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT HONDA HAS RECALLED APPROXIMATELY 350,000 OF THESE VEHICLES IN THE ASIAN MARKET, BUT THEY HAVE NOT MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IN THE U.S.
Since 2018 have had sporadic electrical issues, brightness light comes on and then radio goes haywire changing channels on it’s own etc. Warning lights sporadically come on. Rear alert sensor stopped working for a while. Automatic braking has engaged several times without warning and no cars or objects in front of me while driving (very dangerous). When getting oil changes at dealer I mentioned the problem (1st time was radio only and they claimed to do a software update). Next time when I mentioned and showed a video they told me they know there’s a problem but don’t know how to fix it. Yesterday all my saved routes on my GPS including “home” were gone. The problems are becoming more frequent. Several times this week and from what I’ve read many people having the same problem and Honda not recalling the vehicle. Some people told it’s a defective BCM that’s back ordered and others say their cars are stalling, alarms going off , not being able to shut off the car and locks and FOB not working. Of course my car is out of warranty. These are serious issues and I’m afraid that my car is unsafe to drive. Others have claimed that dealers said there are also fuel injector problems. Apparently 2018 and other later models have been recalled but not the 2017. Many others being charged thousands of dollar to fix problem and then the problem comes back again. Someone needs to make Honda correct these serious safety issues.
THE TIRES SOLD ON THE HONDA CRV IN 2017 ARE SUBSTANDARD. AT 17,000 THEY ARE WORN TO THE POINT OF NEEDING REPLACEMENT. AS SOMEONE THAT IS MORE ACCUSTOMED TO TIRES LASTING 45,000 TO 80,000, THIS QUICK WEAR OUT CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. AT 17,000, I SHOULD HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE TIRES TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN -- NO SO. THESE ARE VERY DANGEROUS.

ENGINE OIL OVERFILL CONDITION EXISTS AS EARLY AS 700 MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALERSHIP. ENGINE OIL IS ABOVE THE 'FULL' MARK ON THE DIPSTICK AND THE ENGINE OIL HAS THE DISTINCT SMELL OF GASOLINE PRESENT. THIS PROBLEM IS REPORTED ON NUMEROUS HONDA CR-V OWNERS FORUMS AND IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 1.5 TURBO ENGINE. IT IS OUR FEAR THAT IF THIS OVERFILL CONDITION IS DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF GASOLINE MIXING WITH THE CRANKCASE ENGINE OIL THAT THE RESULTS COULD BE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE, EXPLOSION, SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, SUDDEN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, ETC.
HONDA SENSING ISSUE - WHEN DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD APPLY BRAKE BY ITSELF AS IF A FRONTAL COLLISION IS EXPECTED EVEN IF THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLE IN-FRONT.
FOWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE - WHEN DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITION, THE VEHICLE WILL ABRUPTLY APPLY BRAKE BY ITSELF ACTIVATING THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. THE "BRAKE" WARNING COMES-UP IN THE DRIVER'S DASHBOARD TO PROVIDE A VISUAL WARNING. THIS HAPPENS EVEN IF THERE WERE NO VEHICLE IN-FRONT AND ANTICIPATED FRONTAL COLLISION. THIS ABRUPT AND RANDOM BRAKING CAN CAUSE A REAR-END COLLISION.
THE INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. AUDIO CONTINUES TO PLAY WITHOUT DISPLAY. PRESSING THE HOME BUTTON SOMETIMES RESOLVE THE ISSUE, BUT SOMETIME IT REQUIRES TO HAVE THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY TURNED-OFF TO GET THE DISPLAY BACK.
AFTER JUMPING THE BATTERY - WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PEDAL JERKS MOMENTARILY BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE GARAGE WITH DEAD BATTERY AFTER 2 DAYS OF NOT BEING USED.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY. BUTTON TO SHIFT TRANMISSION/GEARS DISINTEGRATED. KNEW IMMEDIATELY THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT CAR INTO PARK, ETC. FUEL IS MAKING IT'S WAY INTO THE OIL SYSTEM. EVERYTIME I CHECK THE OIL I CAN CLEARLY SMELL GASOLINE ON THE DIPSTICK. I KNOW THAT HONDA HAS RECALLED 350,000 CRVS IN CHINA FOR THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME 1.5 TURBO ENGINES HOWEVER, WHEN I TELL THE DEALERSHIP OR HONDA REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT IT THEY ACT AS IF IT IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE PREMATURE WEAR ON THE ENGINE AND POTENTIALLY BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE ENGINE WERE TO STALL AT HIGH SPEEDS.

HONDA'S 1.5L TURBO ENGINE OIL LEVEL INCREASES IN THE ENGINE OIL OVER TIME AS UNBURNT EXCESS FUEL COLLECTS ON THE ENGINE CYLINDER WALLS. THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL GROWS QUICKER DEPENDING ON DRIVING CONDITIONS - SOMETIMES COLDER WEATHER, SOMETIMES FREEWAY SPEEDS, THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY VARIABLES. TO COMBAT THE ISSUE I AM FORCED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL MORE OFTEN FOR FEAR OF ENGINE MISFIRES, ENGINE DAMAGE, AND PREMATURE ENGINE WEAR. WHEN I CHANGE THE OIL, I FILL THE OIL TO THE MID ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK MARK BUT WITHIN 1500 MILES OR SO THE OIL IS AT MAX DIPSTICK LEVEL AGAIN WITH STRONG FUEL SMELLS. TO DATE HONDA USA HAS NO PLAN FOR CORRECTION LET ALONE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING THE ISSUE.

HONDA IS NOT UNDER THE CA LENON LAW BUT WITH NCDS (NATIONAL CENTER FOR DISPUTE SETTLEMENT). THE HONDA PERSON ASSIGNED TO ARBITRATION CASE CALLED ME & TOLD ME I DON'T HAVE A CASE AS I ONLY TOOK IT IN 1 TIME. DRIVING HIGHWAY 15 EAST TOWARD LAS VEGAS, NV. LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER "SHUTTER GRILLE PROBLEM - POWER REDUCED". VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AS THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED TO 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, I WAS UNABLE TO PASS AN 18 WHEELER TRUCK DUE TO REDUCED ENGINE POWER. STOPPED AT NEARBY HONDA DEALER, SERVICE DEPT. WAS CLOSED, NEW CAR MANAGER SAID "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS CODE MEANS" AFTER SITTING FOR 15 MINUTES CODE RESET ITSELF ONLY TO COME BACK ON AFTER ANOTHER 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. TEMPERATURE WAS 103 DEGREES OUTSIDE.WENT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP IN LAS VEGAS TO BE TOLD AGAIN "HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS CODE BEFORE". NO RESOLUTION - VERY DANGEROUS CONDTION TO LOOSE 50% OF ENGINE POWER ON THE FREEWAY.

AUTOMATIC GEAR SHIFT BUTTON BROKE WHILE I WAS SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND COULDN'T SHIFT TO DRIVE.
FOR THE THIRD TIME, SINCE BUYING THE CAR NEW, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, AND ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN. THIS TIME POWER STEERING WAS ALSO LOST WHICH COULD'VE CAUSED A CRASH. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO RODENT DAMAGE AGAIN. HONDA SELLS RODENT TAPE AND I'VE USED IT BUT CAN'T TELL WHERE THE RODENTS WILL EAT. I BELIVE THIS IS DUE TO THE SOY-BASED INSULATION AND OTHER PARTS IN THE CAR AS NONE OF MY OTHER VEHICLES HAVE EVER HAD THIS ISSUE AND I LIVE IN A RURAL ENVIRONMENT.
