NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2017 Honda CR-V. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
While driving all these systems will start flashing and no longer work. The dealer's fix it to simply reset the codes. So this can happen at any time and be a risk to the driver and people in the vehicle and around it. This has happened numerous times in the 5 years I have owned this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH and accelerating to merge into highway traffic, the vehicle shuddered and started to lose motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle slowed to 20 MPH and would not accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the check engine warning was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that three fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
I bought my CRV touring used with 90,000 miles in July of 2022. I’ve had nothing but issues with fuel economy and the car feeling sluggish and held back because it’s not running properly along with getting every warning light on the dash that’s possible when it’s having the issue. P0172 is the code I get and my dealership said it’s the fuel injectors. It is a known and problematic issue that should be resolved by Honda for free because it is faulty. I was quoted $1,388 just to replace the injectors but they’re on back order.
Fuel injector System issue which disables KEY safety features of our CR-V's when it occurs. An injector issue should NOT cause safety features of the CR-V to stop working (ex. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, TPS, Hill Start Assist, Braking, etc...) In addition to the disabling key safety features, this CR-V's have reportedly gone into limp mode while at highway speeds. If this occurs to you while you have a 18 wheeler on your rear, you could potentially be in a serious injury/life event.
Started having trouble with the car just suddenly braking on the highway a few times but was able to disengage the ACC and take control of the car. A few times the entire radar system would shut down and I would take it into the dealer where they could find nothing wrong with the car even though by that time ACC would not work on the longest interval setting. Finally on a road trip in the beginning of August 2023 the entire radar system broke and could not be reset. I needed to replace the entire radar system for $1900 on a car that had less than 42,000 miles and is 5 years old!! Not to mention the danger in suddenly stopping on the freeway. I called Honda and they do not have a recall for this problem .... does someone have to have a terrible accident before a recall is issued. Not to mention the cost of replacing the entire radar system.
Honda CRV Touring 2017All warning lights randomly remained on. Car braked in traffic, I could not unlock brakes.. After 2 hours of attempting you tube fixes the brakes un locked and car drove well. A few days later it happened again. When I called dealer they said bring it in. At that time they charged to scope it. They said no codes came on . A few days later my battery was leaking battery acid. I jumped the battery and brought it to Sam's Club and they replaced the battery . The car drove fine for a few days.. Then as I was driving home one evening and all the warning lights started blinking again . I took a video as I was driving in order to show dealer.. I brought the car to the deal the next day . They kept it for several days .then replaced the electronic braking system They charged $2100 plus I had a rental for 3 days . The dealer said there might be a fuel injector problem also, so if the lights start flashing bring it in . It would cost another $1800. I got the car back and drove it for about a week when all the lights started flashing . I brought it to another dealer that is 40 miles away . I told the "2nd dealer my story . They looked up my ViN. They told me the electronic brake system was covered under an extended warranty that I purchased when I bought the car . AS I was driving the blinking lights stopped . The dealer said they couldn't scope it unless lights were flashing When lights flashed I drove the car in they said it was the fuel injectors. The code was P0172. I have been without my car since June. ( it is the end of July) The fuel injectors have been disconinued. The dealership doesn't know when the parts will come in . It has been a month more and I have no car . I have spent $$$$ on rentals but it's too expensive . I am now 960 miles from home with no car for several months . I call the dealership and they do not know when the parts will come in Please advise ...
Twice while driving the car slammed on the brakes by itself, once driving 25 miles and once driving 38 miles. Both times there was no debris/object that could have included the car to sense an impending commission. Both incidents were sudden and without warning, scaring my child in the back seat and almost causing an accident by my car becoming close to being rear-ended.
My 2017 Honda CR-V decided to brake all by itself while driving on the highway going 65 mph. This incident first happened to me in May 2023 on a clear sunny day with my 1 month old baby and fiancé in the car. My fiancé thought I slammed on the brakes but in fact I did not, I was on the highway going 65mph. I was so scared because I didn’t even know my car was capable of braking on its own until that day. Everything in the vehicle flew to the front of the car, luckily no one was behind me or in front of me at that time and we were all okay but we were shaken up. The second time it happened, I was with my fiancé again on a backroad about a month later with no one in front of me or behind me, again on a clear day and my car slammed on the brakes by its own. From that second time on I always turn off my collision mitigation system hoping it makes a difference and does not do it again. I love my car but it is a complete hazard if it brakes on its own with no warning prior to it happening. I did call Honda to see if this was an issue or if there was a recall but the lady told me there is no recall at this time and this was the second time she has heard of this. I do not know what will cause the car to brake on its own, I can’t replicate it on demand, it is very random. I made sure my sensors were not obstructed and were clear. Hopefully Honda will do something about this issue, this is completely unacceptable.
BCM (Body Control Module) failure/malfunction in 2017 Honda CRV EX with under 65,000 miles. Symptoms of the problem prior to diagnosis include multiple electrical system malfunctions: auxiliary mode automatically turning on and remaining on by itself (when car parked and unoccupied), door locks inoperable, vehicle not responding to key fob, car alarm going off by itself continuously (when car parked and unoccupied). Only solution to get all of the noted symptoms to stop is to disconnect the battery or wait for the battery to fully drain of power. Vehicle was taken to local Honda dealer and was diagnosed with failed BCM module. Informed currently the only remedy is to replace the BCM. BCM part number 38809-tmm-a11 is under nationwide shortage (current 4-6 month wait)to do manufacturing delays and other recall issues for other vehicle models. Therefore, vehicle remains inoperable for safety issues with the electrical system until part can be replaced.
As I was driving several warning beeps sounded and several different malfunction alarms showed on the dashboard including cruise control, brake system, and lane mitigation system. When I parked the vehicle the emergency brake light continued to flash and would not engage. I was able to turn the vehicle off, wait a while and resumed driving to get home. The brake light did remain steady when I turned off the car, but it appeared that the other malfunction alarms were still in effect. In addition, a few days prior while driving on the freeway, my dashboard monitoring system dimmed unexpectedly. When I pulled off the freeway I was able to access and recover the light/dimming system. My vehicle has only 45,000 miles. I have experienced other odd electronic problems that resolved spontaneously in the past. However, these issues are worrisome and feel unsafe, especially when they occur while operating the vehicle.
All advanced emergency systems kept flashing randomly Without any notice the brakes would lock up. It indicated that the emergency brake had engaged. I could not go forwand I could not I couldn't go in reverse. I was unable to disengage the brake. I went on YouTube And attempted to disengage then randomly I was able to do this period. After having happened intermittently I brought it to the dealer period they scoped it and found no problem. It was a random occurrence there was no rhyme or reason why this was happening . After a while At the dealers it occurred and the dealer said it was the electronic breaking system . This was an extreme safety issue because I did not know when the car was going to stop. It didn't matter if I was going fast or slow it just happened. The only warning that I had were that all the advanced lighting started to flash period but that necessarily did not mean the car was going to stop it was a random you're very very dangerous The only warning that I had were that all the advanced lighting started to flash period but that necessarily did not mean the car was going to stop .It was a random you're very very dangerous I had to pay $2400 out-of-pocket because the dealership did not submit it prior To repairing it to my extended warranty Easy Care Gold level policy for prior authorization (10yr, 120,000 mi.)
This was first noticed in May 2023 . All the advanced warning signs were flashing And the car would intermittently stall in traffic . The dealer said the fuel injectors were faulty and needed to be redesigned. The dealer said that these fuel injectors were on back order with no availability date. If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged If I continue to drive the vehicle with faulty fuel injectors the catalytic converter would be damaged. When I bought the car I bought the gold level easy care extended warranty period 10 year a 120000 miles . They deny covering this repair because there was residue on the fuel injectors period period my point of course was they were faulty by design not by my neglect period. It is now mid-september and I have been without a vehicle since June. There was a recall on the fuel injectors of later models of Honda's 2018 to 2023.
My car went into the limp mode when I was driving and would only go 7 to 8 miles per hour. This is a big safety hazard. Had I been on the freeway and not near my home, it could have easily caused an accident.I had it towed to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong and said it was probably Bad gas. Prior to this, several lights had come on the dash stating that all of the systems in the car were not working. They also could not tell me why that was happening. It seems now that I find out that Honda CRVs made in the year 2017 have bad fuel injectors. I'm having to get that replaced. I'm not sure if that's what caused the car to go into the limp mode.
We were driving about 35 mph when the car suddenly beeped a warning “brakes” while simultaneously SLAMMING on the brakes. There was a metal construction plate on the roadway at the place where the incident occurred. My left wrist was injured as it was bent back by the steering wheel, my wife wasn’t watching the road and is complaining of neck pain/strain. We feel very lucky there was no one behind us at the time.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to exceed 15 MPH. The contact stated the uphill assist, the emission system, the check engine, and the brake warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that there were several other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact experienced the failure for a second time on 5/23/2023. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the fuel injectors to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts not being available. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V442000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
CRV was running fine with zero problems prior to this incident. Stopped at a red light and when the light turned green the car would not move. Transmission would not go into gear. Dealer has vehicle and stated that the belt in the transmission broke, 2nd shaft not moving. Requires a brand new transmission
When driving normal speeds, the automatic emergency braking system activated and brought the car to a complete and sudden stop for no reason. There was nothing in front of me and thankfully, no one close behind me. I am terrified to drive my car now. What if I was in front of a tractor trailer or dump truck and then system engaged again for no reason?
We have experienced 3 episodes where all of the system failure alarm lights have been activated. The battery was replaced and the fuel injectors were cleaned after the first 2 episodes. On May 19, 2023, we were driving on I-5 north 100 miles from home when the warning lights came on. We turned around to return home. The car went into limp mode and could only go 10 mph over the passes. This was dangerous considering the number of trucks traveling on the highway. The following week it was determine that the turbocharger had failed due to a clogged oil filter screen. All of the scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, had been performed by the Honda dealership. There have been reported issues with the engine in the 2017 Honda CR-V, including oil dilution problems.
I was driving and put on the air conditioner when a decrease in the engine power occurred. Then all the safety features installed on the car rotated on the dashboard, in addition the check engine light and all the other yellow lights were on and there was a lot of white smoke coming out of my exhaust.I then took it to my mechanic who diagnosed it as a turbo booster failure. It is a safety issue due to my engine could have seize or caused a fire since I was driving on a highway at the time.I found out my extended warranty expired in April, one month before. Also, the mechanic showed me the turbocharger and the turbine wheel was moving around when it was supposed to be in a stationary position.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the brake warning light illuminated intermittently, and shortly afterwards, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activated independently. The contact stated he was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact also stated he had experienced the same failure on 5/18/2023. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. The VIN was not available.
The vehicle seems to drive normally. When I go to turn off the car after parking, the engine turns off but the electronics do not - this uses all of the battery in the state. I took to dealership and they said bad Body Control Module (BCM). Honda recently recalled 700,000 vehicles because of BCM issues however CRV wasn't one of them - I suspect I am having the same issue - the replacement BCM, I'm told by the dealership, is backordered several months. I have a car that I cannot drive. This needs to be investigated.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while accelerating at slow speeds, the vehicle the Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking feature inadvertently activated. The brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 56,500.
rear driver door - controls to the window , door locks, and speaker stopped working. After inspection by the dealer, they say there is a broken wire in the wire harness. How could this happen?? Caused doors not to lock and auto start would not work.
The Body Control Module has failed. Since all of the safety features in/on the vehicle are monitored by this part is the vehicle actually safe to drive? That is the question I have posed to 3 dealers. None have been willing to say that it is absolutely safe. The part is on national backorder with no availability date provided. Can you tell me that the vehicle is safe to drive?
AC went out, system charged, went out while driving. 100 degrees outside and car only blows hot air. Not safe for anyone to be in it for prolonged periods of time
On 2017 CRV with just over 100,000 miles has experienced multiple rear door lock actuator faults impacting both rear doors and the rear hatch release (locking them all in place and not able to unlock with the power switch or key fob), and as of last couple weeks our vehicle experienced a sputtering engine and sometimes would hesitate to start (or wouldn't on the first try). The culprit of the issue was the fuel pump, which had internally degraded and ultimately couldn't produce the pressure necessary for proper fuel delivery. This has been diagnosed and reported by a local independent shop (Honda Master Mechanic though) and is currently being fixed. I will have an invoice for repair once the part arrives and is installed (the replacement pump is on national backorder). I can also confirm that the pump being replaced in my 2017 CRV is a Denso unit as well, and is original to the vehicle. Currently, Honda has an active recall for fuel pump failures, but only in CRVs from 2018 and 2019 (not 2017, although I can attest that some 2017 models are being impacted). Honda had originally recalled those pumps from 2018 and 2019 models (plus those from Accords, Civics and some Acura models) due to safety issues related to fuel delivery system failure. Those safety concerns should be extended to all vehicles being impacted.
The airconditioning system has quit working. The item has not been inspected by a dealer or mechanic.
The Fuel Injectors in this generation of Honda CR-V's (2017-current), have widespread reported issues related to clogged injectors - mostly in 2017-2019 models at approx. the 75,000 mile range. This causes the vehicles computer to illuminate multiple warning messages on the dash board (Emission System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem), Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem). These warning messages are usually related to an OBD-II code of running too rich or cylinder misfire - P0172, P0303, P219F, etc.... Once one of these fuel injector related trouble codes is illuminated on the dash, all the above listed safety features are disabled. In certain cases, the car may even go into LIMP mode - even while on the highway and vehicle traffic behind the vehicle. There are many documented cases online on Facebook CR-V groups, and other CR-V related websites documenting this problem. Again, all related to a potential poor design with the Honda CR-V Fuel Injector in the 1.4L Turbo engine introduced in the 2017 model year - that then disables key safety features of the vehicle! Ex. https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/2023-fuel-injector-replacement-discussion-merged-master-thread.225172/ https://www.crvownersclub.com/threads/fuel-injector-replacement-discussion-merged-master-thread-now-retired.219349/page-19 Many 2017-2019 Honda CR-V's are requiring the replacement of Fuel Injectors somewhere in the 50-100k mile range. Honda has often offered to cover the cost of the parts ($800+) and the consumer is left paying for the labor ($500-800). Honda, internally, has noted there is a problem with the manufacture of their injectors. Please investigate as this issue is disabling key safety features on CR-V's
Have dealt with oil dilution the life of this vehicle, around 63K miles all lights lit up in the dash disabling ALL safety features. For a while this issue would come and go and the lights would clear,CEL included. Brought into Honda for a diagnosis and they state that the vehicle needs new fuel injectors. Due to the CEL from the fuel Injectors it disables ALL safety features therefore putting the driver and others on the road at risk.
On major highways with traffic, the car would idle rough before conking out completely, especially upon acceleration. In cases where I needed to accelerate to merge into traffic, it was very scary, unpredictable, and unsafe. All warning display messages came on as well. Two mechanics have looked and the second mechanic stated that there's a common issue with fuel injectors for 2017 Honda CRV's. Since it's such a common problem with these cars, the fuel injectors are on a very extended backorder. So, he replaced them with after market injectors and deemed it safe to drive. I drove it to work the next day (again, on a major highway) and the car died again upon acceleration.
I took my car into dealership over a year ago because of the steering. They didn’t have time to look at it so I took it to a repair shop. He drove the car and told me to take it to dealership because of the steering. He could feel the hesitation when driving. He said it should still be under warranty. Took it back to dealership another day . After waiting 2 hours I already knew when the technician came back they were going to charge me with something because it had been a 2 hour wait. He said I had a loose bolt!!! Really!! They didn’t even drive the car. Even after the so called loose bolt I’m still having the same issue. They said the car was no longer under warranty. There’s a clicking noise it makes and I’m scared to drive it long distances. I’ve had to rent a car. I pray every time I drive it. I know it’s going to be expensive to have it fixed. I pray you include this car in your recall.
Vehicle is going in to 'limp" mode at highway speeds without warning. All safety features including ACC, LKAS, Emergency Braking, Collision avoidance, brake hold do not work when this happens. Vehicle must be pulled over to the side of the road, shut off and then restarted to allow car to operate at normal speed until the issue occurs again ( usually 20-30 minutes later). Brought car to Honda and they confirmed fuel injector issue. Part is discontinued and new parts not available. No recall, but incidences where all warning lights come on the dash are all over user groups on the internet. Problem ALWAYS comes back to fuel injectors. The main issue is that it goes in to limp mode with no acceleration available without warning. This creates a HUGE safety issue in rush hour traffic. Honda does not acknowledge the problem with the injector and can offer no information as to when replacement injectors would be available.
I was driving on the Kennedy Express lane in Chicago, IL when all of sudden, out of nowhere, I started losing the ability to accelerate during rush hour. People were behind me and had to slam on their brakes. I had my hazards but it's only 2 lanes and people were honking and flashing me. There was no place for me to pull over. I was able to drive 5-10 miles per hour. The system has been inspected. I was told that the repair could take over 3 months because this is common in 2017's CRV's. They currently have 21 parked on their lot waiting for the same parts. They also confirmed that Honda is well aware of the issue. I was able to confirm on a lot of online forums that thousands of people have been impacted by the same issues. All of the safety lights lit up all a once. There was no way to determine by the warning lamps what specifically was wrong.
The emergency braking was turned off by me a few years ago due to this happening before. Today while I was driving about 35 mph, my car did a hard brake pushing everything including myself to the front giving me whiplash. Good thing nobody was behind me or else they would’ve ran into me for sure. There was nothing even in front of me to even cause this to even happen. I will be calling the dealership about this tomorrow. There was no warning lamps, messages or anything else to indicate this was about to happen or should be happening.
Week of April 11th, While driving the car, the vehicle would start to shake and the following warning messages came on as the vehicle would start to decelerate making us drift to the emergency lane avoid getting hit by an oncoming vehicles. The following messages came up on multiple occasions on the panel. (note, we could only select 3 options above so were not able select all of these) 1. Collision Mitigation System Problem 2. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem 3. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 4. Electrical Parking Break Problem 5. Tire Pressure Monitor Problem 6. Power Steering System (EPS) Problem The car was inspected by Danbury Honda service department, who informed us that it was a blown head gasket. The car is a 2017 purchased in 2020 by Danbury Honda Dearlership. As we worked primarily from home for the last 3 years, the car was not driven that often and oil changes have been up to date. There have been no signs of leaking or overheating including the temperature gauge not showing any signs of overheating and remained in neutral or below temperature. The Danbury Honda service department could not explain how a blow head gasket was possible. We then proceeded to have it inspected by Danbury Brewster Service Department week of April 18th, who informed us that it was a spark plug issue. And there was no indication of a head gasket. After spark plug was repaired, the car was being driven with no issues and on May 4th, the incident above happened again (again no overheating or leaking). We went back to Honda Brewster who said it was a blown head gasket with no explanation as to how this as possible. We are attaching the service technician inspection report and photos. This has caused anxiety and stress where we are not safe driving the vehicle. Our daughter just recently obtained a license and, thankfully, this did not happen to her. We have been fans of hondas for many years and between us have owned 4 honda vehicles.
Honda CR-V head unit or central console refuses to dim. This is a serious safety threat as display is glaringly bright and distorts night vision. I did take the vehicle to dealership for inspection and recommendation was to replace the head unit as they think this is a hardware issue. Professionally, I am a software engineer and I find it very hard to accept that this is a hardware issue. The hardware otherwise works perfectly with no defect. Judging by my experience this looks like software is overriding user inputs. Internet forums are full of similar reports by many users. As this can be a serious safety issue, I request you to look into this issue.
The Body Control Module has internal failure. The lights, alarms, locks and dashboard, when not running and locked up in garage, spontaneously come on. When driving vehicle warning lights flash about problems that don't exist. Apparently, the CRV should not be driven with this problem, as it can cause automatic stops, lane changes and other safety issues. This has been a recall in numerous other Honda CRV's, however American Honda refuses to recall 2017's. I believe there are 2 reasons for this; the part is on a National Back Order and the cost to repair is $800. There are many reports of others having the same issues with their 2017 CRV's, I hope we don't have to wait until something serious happens before you have Honda recall the 2017 for failed Body Control Module- the brain of the car. I leased and then purchased this CRV, it has been well taken care of by the local Honda dealer. It was a case manager at Honda who suggested I contact you, as you can do recalls. I have the Paperwork and info and will be happy to email it to you if you need it. Thank you.
As I depressed the start button to engage my car’s engine, the right rear passenger window spontaneously shattered. The car was parked at the time and there was no motion or contact to the window when the window shattered into multiple fragments. There was no evidence of damage to the window prior to this occurrence.
Since 2019, my indicator lights come on all at once, and despite it going to the dealership multiple times, it has yet to fixed, and they continue to charge me for diagnostics. Research shows that many Honda owners experience the same thing. Now I'm being told it's my fuel injectors, which is baffling. They will not address this systemic mechanical defect.
Collision Mitigation system problem indicator light causing random braking and false brake warnings
Driver's seatbelt seems to not always fasten completely.
The drivers side rear view mirror will shake randomly while sitting idle or while driving. No amount of adjustment corrects this problem. When the mirror shakes it’s hard to see any detail behind you.
My wife was driving the car with her 2 friends on highway left lane , all the sudden the engine light flash and the engine was stalling (cannot accelerate). She was driving 55mph before , all the sudden she only can driving 20mph even she gas up. Luckily she was able to pull over to the right lane and parked on the right side zebra lane. Then I went to help my wife I was only 5-10 minutes from where she was. I drove off the highway with 22mph even I gas up (unable to accelerate past 25th). I got out the highway then turn off and on the engine then the light disappeared. Next day we drove then emission system problem light turn on, same turn off and on the engine then the light disappeared. Next day Monday I went to my mechanic and he told me there no light on , come back when the light on. Same day Monday we drove the emissions light turn on again after we drove about 10-15 miles, I went to my mechanic and he told me there problem with the fuel system, the car unable to burn off all the fuel and the fuel get into the engine. There is a problem with the designs on the fuel and injector system and there was a recall in China and service bulletin 19-037. Of course the light turn off after my mechanic change the engine oil which in China Honda performed oil change for life for all the crv which sold in China. My mechanic did the oil change and tell me go to the dealership as soon as possible. So I went to the Honda dealership next day and they told me to pay for the diagnostic but the light not on , it does not make any sense for me to pay $179 and no code since there no light turn on on the dashboard. I told them I just want to fix the problems which stated on the bulletin, but they refused, I spoke to the manager and Honda customer service, they told me same thing, need to diagnose before anything can be done. I suggested the Honda recall all model crv from 2017 to fix the defective design problems before anyone get serious injury. Stalling is a safety iss
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? 2017 Honda CR-V transmission (CVT) has a leak. Brought to Honda dealership, they diagnosed with faulty torque converter seal. Yes, it is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Transmission fluid is leaking, will lead to possible transmission failure in near future at any time. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Car was taken to dealership and they told me it is not worrisome that transmission is leaking and to check the level more frequently. Looked on Honda forums regarding issue and problem happens in all honda models with their CVT and wide mileage range on cars affected. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. Problem was noticed when I went underneath car to change engine oil. Transmission fluid covered the bottom of transmission. Car's undercarriage was covered in fluid.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while turning off the vehicle, the alarm started sounding off independently. The battery warning light was illuminated. The contact had to remove the battery terminals because the vehicle was not recognizing the key fob. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer stated that the VCN needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts availability issues. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 84,945.
The lights on the dashboard turn on and off and electrical systems do not work. This has been a continuous issue for over a year.
Gasoline leaked past fuel injectors and diluted the oil. Fuel injectors and spark plugs have had to be replaced with OEM parts. The problem has been confirmed by an official Honda dealership and by an independent service center. This issue has been repaired twice by a mechanic and has happened a third time. When the issue appeared, check engine light, parking brake, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision warning lights have turned on. Car disables adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and forward collision detection when issue occurs. The attached file shows the first incident and first inspection at 82,200 miles. The second incident occurred at 103,000. This second incident was the exact same issue.
All safety sensors on the dashboard are lighting up without any reason. Car is able to be driven properly (for now) but every safety sensor appears when I turn the car on and when I drive the car. From what I've read on the internet, could be a fuel injection problem.
I demand answers for the issues I have been facing with my vehicle. I have been to multiple dealerships, but none of them have been able to provide a satisfactory solution. The dashboard lights have abruptly turned on, rendering various features such as radio, HVAC, power steering, brakes, cruise control, and others useless. Every time we have read the codes, different issues have been identified without any explanation as to why they are happening.
