AFTER RECEIVING HONDA TSB 18-124 FROM HONDA, WHICH SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE OIL DILUTION ISSUE ISSUE, MY CR-V PROBLEMS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE! NOW, NOT ONLY DOES THE VEHICLE GET A TERRIBLE SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE CABIN, (ESPECIALLY ON INITIAL START-UP AND WHILE IDLING), BUT THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED NEW PROBLEMS. INCLUDED AMONG THESE ARE: - WORSE OIL DILUTION (GAS IN THE ENGINE OIL) . IT ROSE BY 1 QUART IN 2 WEEKS SINCE GETTING THE UPDATE (ABOUT 500 MILES OF DRIVING) - A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE OIL AND EVEN AROUND THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE - WORSE GAS MILEAGE. A DECLINE BY SEVERAL MPGS - COLDER CABIN -- TAKES MUCH LONGER TO GENERATE HEAT THIS IS JUST WRONG ON A NEW VEHICLE AND NEEDS A PROACTIVE RECALL AND FURTHER INVESTIGATION ASAP. PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE HONDA ' USERS ARE STILL EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES AFTER THEIR UPDATE.
VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR OIL DILUTION ISSUE AND ENGINE NOT WARMING UP PROPERLY AND GASOLINE SMELL INSIDE VEHICLE. HONDA REPAIRED ON 1/11/19. RECALL REPAIR DID NOT WORK. TOOK IT BACK ON 1/16/19. STILL DOES NOT WORK. I STARTED VEHICLE IN DRIVEWAY AND LEFT IT RUN FOR 35 MINUTES WITH HEATER ON HIGH AND FAN ON HIGH STILL BLOWING ICE COLD AIR TEMP GAUGE DID NOT MOVE AT ALL. STILL SMELL GAS IN VEHICLE ENGINE OIL IS OVERFILLED ABOUT 3/8 INCH ABOVE FULL ON DIP STICK. ANOTHER APPOINTMENT ON 2/12/19 TO TRY AND FIX FOR THIRD TIME. SATURDAY MORNING 2/9/19 AT 7:10 IN MORNING ON WAY HOME FROM WORK 23 DEGREES OUT I HAD TO PUT THE WINDOWS DOWN BECAUSE GAS SMELL INSIDE VEHICLE WAS MAKING ME SICK. SUNDAY MORNING AT 7:10 ON WAY HOME FROM WORK 17 DEGREES OUTSIDE STARTED VEHICLE UP AT 6:50 7:05 I GOT IN VEHICLE STILL ICE COLD CLEANED FROST AND ICE OFF VEHICLE AS BEST I COULD. VEHICLE WILL NOT WARM UP UNLESS IT IS DRIVEN!!! STARTED DRIVING HOME AND WINDSHIELD IS SOLID ICE NO SENSE IN STOPPING BECAUSE WILL NOT HEAT UP UNLESS VEHICLE IS MOVING. THESE VEHICLES ARE ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN. HONDA IS AWARE OF ALL THESE ISSUES BUT DOES NOTHING. I GUESS NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE WERE KILLED BY THEIR FAULTY VEHICLES YET AND NOT ENOUGH LAWSUITS. EVERYONE OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED AND BANNED FROM THE ROAD UNTIL REPAIRED. I ASKED JONES HONDA OF LANCASTER PA WHERE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FOR A LOANER CAR UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED AND THEY SAID NO THEY DO NOT GIVE OUT LOANER CARS BUT WILL RENT ME ONE. I PAID ABOUT $32,000 FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS.
ENGINE OIL BECOME DIRTY AND GAS SMELLING WITHIN 500 MILES AFTER FIRST OIL CHANGE AT 5,000 MLS. SUSPECT FUEL DILUTION IN MY 1.5 TURBO 3 CYL. ENGINE. OIL QUANTITY NOT SHOWING OVER FULL AS YET.
SOMETIMES WOULD NEED REPEATED ATTEMPT TO START. VEHICLE STALLED, MOST OFTEN WHILE MOVING SLOWLY, BUT ONCE WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30 & 40 MPH. NO CODES SHOWED ACCORDING TO CLAWSEN HONDA. HONDA PERFORMED AN SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR PCM & TCM (1/18/19). VEHICLE STALLED ONCE SINCE SERVICE 10 DAYS LATER. 1ST INCIDENT AT 72MI ODOM
RECENTLY AFTER PURCHASED 1/2019 NOTICED OIL LEVEL WAS 3/8" OVER HIGH MARK. REPORTED TO LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS NORMAL TO HAVE GAS IN THE OIL. ALSO CAR EMITS SMELL OF RAW GASOLINE BOTH IN CABIN WHEN STOPPED. ALSO SMELL RAW GAS IN GARAGE AND SOMETIMES IN OUR HOUSE WHILE CAR IS PARKED. AFTER MORE INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING PROBLEMS TOOL
WE HAVE A 2018 HONDA CR-V TOURING AND HAVE RECENTLY HAD A CRITICAL PROBLEM WITH ITS COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM. ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE CAR HAS BRAKED WHEN NOTHING WAS IN FRONT OF IT. BOTH INSTANCES HAPPENED AT DUSK/EVENING; HOWEVER, THE MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE WAS THE MOST SEVERE. I WAS ACCELERATING ON A ROAD AND GOING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN I PASSED UNDER AN OVERPASS/BRIDGE. SUDDENLY, AS I WAS ACCELERATING, THE CAR BRAKED AND SLOWED FROM 45-50 MPH DOWN TO 15-20 MPH IN ABOUT FIVE SECONDS. THE SEVERE BRAKING CAUSED EVERYTHING TO FLY OFF MY SEATS, MY SEATBELT TO LOCK, AND GAVE ME WHIPLASH. LUCKILY, THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME; OTHERWISE, I AM SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE SENSOR MAY HAVE DETECTED THE SHADOW FROM THE BRIDGE OR PERHAPS RAIN DROPS ON THE ROAD. I ASKED IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THEY SAID OTHER DEALERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR CASES. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM EVERY TIME WE START THE CAR. CURRENTLY, HONDA DOES NOT OFFER ANOTHER SOLUTION.
THE ACTIVE SAFETY AND DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEMS RANDOMLY SWITCH THEMSELVES ON AND OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND ARE UNRELIABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT BOTH HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. IT HAS HAPPEN IN NORMAL DRIVING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND COLD WITH SNOW FLURRIES. THIS VEHICLE FAILS TO WARM TO TO "NORMAL" OPERATING TEMPERS ESPECIAL ON MN COLD DAYS. IT MAY NOT WARM UP PERIOD ON DAYS WHERE THE TEMPERATURE FALL TO 15 DEGREES OR LOWER. ON DAYS OF 50 DEGREES OR LESS IT WARMS UP WHEN DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT IN LOW SPEED SITUATIONS IT MAY NOT WARM UP AT ALL. THERE IS THE DISTINCT SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR AT TIMES. ADDITIONALLY THIS VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE AN OIL DILUTION PROBLEM AS THE OIL LEVEL REGISTERS ABOVE THE MAX OIL LEVEL LINE ON A REGULAR BASIS. IN MY MIND THESE ARE ALL SAFETY ISSUES. I WONDER IF THE SAFETY SYSTEMS WILL ACTUALLY WORK IF AND WHEN I NEED THEM. I WONDER IF THIS CAR IS GOING TO BURST INTO FLAMES AS I CAN SMALL GASOLINE IN THE CABIN. IF I SMELLED GAS IN ME HOUSE THEY RECOMMEND I LEAVE THE PREMISES. I CAN'T REALLY DO WITH I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I DO HAVE A FEW PICTURES OF SOME OF THE ELECTRONIC WARNING AND TEMP GAUGE BUT CANNOT DOWNLOAD FROM THIS LOCATION. I AM LISTING HERE THE FIRST INCIDENCE BUT KNOW THERE ARE A FEW INCIDENCES.
2018 HONDA CRV EXL. CONSUMER WRITES WITH CONCERNS TO A OIL DILUTION PROBLEM WITH NEWLY PURCHASED VEHICLE. *AS *TR
2018 HONDA CR-V BOUGHT NEW, ONLY HAS 475 MILES AND GETTING COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, AND LANE KEEPING ASSIST PROBLEM WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND WE CANNOT SET THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL OR USE ANY OF THESE SAFETY FEATURES. I'VE FOUND A BLOG THAT HAS MANY INSTANCES OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AND WORSE TO INCLUDE BRAKE FAILURE. WE ARE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, BRANDON HONDA, BRANDON FL TOMORROW. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A BRAND NEW CAR.
I PURCHASED MY 2018 HONDA CR-V EX 2WD IN FLORIDA APRIL 2018. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES ON IT NOW. I TRAVEL THROUGH INDIANA AND OHIO DURING THE YEAR, INCLUDING WINTER MONTHS. I HAVE SMELLED GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CAR AND HAVE SMELLED GASOLINE IN THE OIL ESPECIALLY IN WINTER MONTHS WHEN I AM TRAVELING NORTH. I CALLED HONDA CORP ABOUT THE OIL DILUTION PROBLEM AND THE TSB 18-114 AND TSB 18-124 THAT WERE ADDRESSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT ONLY COVERS NORTHERN STATES. I EXPLAINED THAT I TRAVEL THROUGH NORTHERN STATES DURING THE YEAR AND HAVE EXPERIENCED GASOLINE FUMES IN THE CABIN AND ALSO IN THE OIL. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT IN TO A DEALER WHEN I AM IN INDIANA AND OHIO DURING THE WINTER. THE PROBLEM WITH THAT IS I AM AT WORK AND UNABLE TO TAKE THE TIME OFF TO GO TO A DEALER, NOT UNTIL I GET HOME TO FLORIDA AND THEN THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE GONE. SO I AM ONLY REQUESTING THAT TSB 18-114 AND 18-124 BE APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE ALSO. THE "FIX" TO OIL DILUTION SHOULD NOT JUST BE APPLIED TO NORTHERN STATES WHEN MANY OF US TRAVEL THROUGH NORTHERN STATES IN THE WINTER. I AM GOING TO PURSUE THIS IF I DON'T HEAR BACK FROM HONDA CORP AFTER THEIR PREVIOUS CALL TO ME DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO ADDRESS MY PROBLEM. I JUST WANT THE TIB'S APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE.
BRAND NEW ALL WHEEL DRIVE 2018 VEHICLE. IT COULD NOT STOP ON SNOW ROAD NEAR 20MPH EVEN LOWER SPEED COUPLE TIMES! TWO TIMES SLIPPED OVER THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS DUE TO COULD NOT STOP! SCARED TO DEATH!!!
WE ARE EXPERIENCING A SMELL OF GAS IN THE CABIN. THE HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE WE PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW. AT FIRST WE THOUGHT WE STEPPED IN GAS AND THE SMELL WAS FROM OUR SHOES. AFTER MORE HEADACHES AND RESEARCH, WE ARE REALIZING THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2017 AND 2018 CR-V'S. ANOTHER RELATED PROBLEM WE ARE HAVING IS THAT THE ENGINE OCCASIONALLY STALLS UPON STARTING. WE PARK THE CAR IN A GARAGE. WHILE AT WORK, THE CAR IS PARKED OUTSIDE. I WENT OUT TO THE CAR AND TRIED TO START IT AND THE ENGINE WAS HESITANT TO START AND SOUNDED LIKE I WAS TRYING TO START A CAR WITH A DEAD BATTERY. IT LAGGED AND AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS THE CAR STARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES DURING THE WINTER. EACH INCIDENT WAS A SEPARATE OCCASION. EACH TIME WAS AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE FOR A FEW HOURS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2018 HONDA CR-V. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING 30 MPH, HE MADE A RIGHT TURN AND THE WHEELS SEIZED. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A GUARDRAIL HEAD ON AND ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER DOESN'T ACCESS VEHICLE CRASHES OR INVESTIGATIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,000. *BF *TR THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A STEERING RECALL FOR THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL BUT, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. *JS
I PURCHASED THIS CAR JUNE 2018. IT WAS PERFECT. EVERYTHING WORKED FLAWLESSLY. THEN JANUARY 3 I HAD A TSB PERFORMED ON THE CAR, NOW MY MPG'S HAVE DROPPED BY 10MPG. AND I HAD NO ISSUE WITH HEAT BEFORE, AND NOW I DO. START THE CAR, WITHIN 2 MILES I HAVE HEAT. 20 MINUTES INTO MY JOURNEY, THE CENTER VENTS ON THE DASH START BLOWING COLD AIR. DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH I TURN UP THE HEAT DIAL, IT CONTINUES TO BLOW COLD AIR FROM THE CENTER VENTS FROM THAT POINT IN THE TRIP FORWARD. IT'S BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO CALLED HONDA TECH LINE AND HONDA TECH LINE CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL AND THE CAR WAS NOT DOING THAT PRIOR THIS TSB BEING DONE ON MY CAR. EVEN THE DEALERSHIP AGREES WITH ME IT'S NOT NORMAL AND SOMETHING IS WRONG, BUT TECH LINE TOLD THEM TO TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG. THIS IS WILDLY UNACCEPTABLE AND YOU NEED TO STEP IN. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HONDA IS DOING THIS TO! IN CHINA A STOP SALE WAS FORCED BY CONSUMERS BECAUSE THE CRV IS DEFECTIVE. WHY ISN'T THE USA DOING SOMETHING TO HELP US????
I LIVE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, A VERY COLD CLIMATE. MY HONDA CR-V EX HAS REMOTE START. WITH EVERY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED, YOU REMOTE START THE VEHICLE, IT IDLES FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND YOUR CAR GETS WARM AND THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTS. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT DO THIS. IT REMAINS COOL, AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN A COLD WEATHER CLIMATE. THE ENGINE HAS TO BE RUN ON THE HIGHWAY FOR MANY MILES (SAY 10-15) BEFORE THE ENGINE HEATS UP ENOUGH TO PRODUCE NOTICABLE HEAT. THIS IS UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WITH THE WINDSHIELD. DURING A RECENT ICE STORM, I COULD NOT KEEP MY WINDSHIELD FROM BUILDING UP ICE BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET ENOUGH HEAT TO THE WINDSHIELD EVEN USING THE DEFROST SETTING AND FANS AT FULL ON.
THE ENGINE IS DILUTED WITH GAS. WHEN I CHECK THE OIL LEVEL IN A COLD MORNING, THE OIL LEVEL IS 2 INCHES ABOVE THE MAX OIL LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK. I CALLED HONDA HELP LINE, AND THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE KNOWN TSBS FOR OUR CAR, AND THEY REFUSE TO APPLY THE TSBS TO MY CAR BECAUSE THEY ARE ROLLING OUT THE FIX TO OTHER STATES FIRST.
1/8/2019 - SMELLED SULFUR FROM EXHAUST. MADE APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR THE OIL/GAS RECALL REPAIR. 1/16/2019 - RECALL REPAIR. 1/19/2019 - SMELLED SULFUR, THIS TIME IN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. 1/20/2019 - TWICE, WHILE IDLING, THE ENGINE KNOCKED AND FELT LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL THOUGH IT DID NOT.
THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED WHEN I DROVE OVER LARGE METAL PANELS THAT WERE PLACED ON A CITY STREET IN CHICAGO. I HAVE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION. IT HAPPENED TWICE IN SAME SPOT, JAN. 8 AND JAN. 10, BOTH TIMES I WAS ACCELERATING TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY RAMP, SO THE IMPACT OF THE BRAKES LOCKING UP WAS EXTRA SEVERE. THE DEALER SAID HE HAD TWO OTHER PEOPLE WITH SAME EXPERIENCE, BUT ONE GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS. THE DEALER AND HONDA TOLD ME THE ONLY WAY TO TURN OFF THIS SYSTEM IS TO MANUALLY DO IT EVERY TIME YOU START YOUR CAR. THANK GOD I DID NOT HAVE SOMEBODY CLOSE BEHIND ME WHEN IT HAPPENED, OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. THE REGIONAL CASE MANAGER DID NOT RETURN MY CALLS FOR A WEEK, AND WHEN HE DID HE SAID THE CAR WAS OPERATING PROPERLY. I TOLD HIM IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO(WHERE I WORK) I DRIVE OVER ABOUT 15-20 METAL PANELS LIKE THAT EVERY DAY, GOING EACH WAY. I AM AFRAID I WILL FORGET TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF ONE OF THESE TIMES, AND IF I DO AND I GET REAR ENDED, I WILL HOLD HONDA RESPONSIBLE. I WAS COMPLETELY DISSATIFIED WITH THE LETTER THEY SENT ME,NOT ADRESSING MY COMPLAINT AT ALL, THE THE CASE MANAGER WAS VERY RUDE ON THE PHONE. I ASKED IF MY HONDA DEALER COULD DISABLE THIS FEATURE, AND WAS TOLD NO. THERE HAVE TO BE MANY OTHER CONSURMERS OUT THERE THAT LIVE IN CITIES THAT HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS NO WAY TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY TO LARGE METAL OBJECTS. THE WAY HONDA HANDLED MY COMPLAINT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME. **I ALSO HAVE PHOTOS OF THE EXACT SPOT THAT THIS OCCURRED, IF NEEDED, I CAN UPLOAD THE PHOTOS
BOUGHT A NEW 2018 CR-V EX TURBO IN SEPTEMBER. THEY NEVER TOLD ME THEY HAD ISSUES WITH GAS MIXING WITH THE OIL. THE MAINTENANCE FOR OIL CHANGES IS 10,000 MILES. I CHANGED OIL MYSELF AT 6,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 16,000 BY THE DEALER THE SECOND WEEK IN DECEMBER. AT THAT TIME THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A/C COMPUTER. THEY STILL DIDN'T EXPLAIN WHAT IT WILL REPAIR. THEN I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THE SAME A/C COMPUTER. SO, I JUST HAPPENED TO LOOK ONLINE JANUARY 6TH FOR RECALLS AND FOUND THAT A LOT OF CR-V'S HAVE GAS MIXING WITH THE OIL. SINCE I JUST HAD MY OIL CHANGED BY THE DEALER I THOUGHT I SHOULD CHECK TO SEE IF MINE HAS MIXED. MY OIL WAS 1/2' PAST FULL. I CALLED THE DEALER THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PART WILL BE IN JANUARY 10TH. SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THAT DAY. UNFORTUNATELY, WHAT DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE? I FEEL I WAS SET UP WHEN PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. THEY TELL ME THE A/C RECALL WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. I'LL SURE BE KEEPING AN EYE ON MY OIL AFTER THE REPAIR.
GAS IS ENTERING AND RAISING ENGINE CRANKCASE OIL LEVELS. CONCERNED THAT SOFTWARE UPDATES MADE BY DEALER WILL SOLVE THIS ISSUE. WORRIED ABOUT LONG TERM ENGINE RELIABILITY. HONDA SHOULD EXTEND ENGINE WARRANTY COVERAGE TO PROTECT US DOWN THE ROAD.
THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM IN THIS CAR IS A "PASSIVE" SYSTEM. THAT MEANS THERE ARE NO SENSORS OR TRANSMITTERS IN THE TIRES BUT RATHER, THEY USE THE ABS SENSORS TO MEASURE RELATIVE WHEEL SPEED AND SINCE A LOW TIRE WILL HAVE A SMALLER DIAMETER, IT WILL ROTATE FASTER AND HONDA BELIEVES THEY CAN MEASURE RELATIVE TIRE PRESSURE WITH THIS SYSTEM. I BELIEVE THIS IDEA IS FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED.: MY FIRST EXAMPLE: I HAD A TIRE GO FLAT WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY. IT WASN'T A BLOW-OUT, JUST A TIRE THAT WENT FLAT WHILE DRIVING. THE "TPMS" SYSTEM NEVER WARNED OF THE LOW TIRE AND THE TIRE WAS ACTUALLY RUINED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.. THAT LED TO MY SECOND REASON... THE TIRE STORE REPLACED THE TIRE WITH AN IDENTICAL SIZE BUT DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER'S TIRE. THAT RESULTED IN MULTIPLE PERIODIC WARNINGS OF "TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM PROBLEM". TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER RESULTED IN THEM TELLING ME THAT ANY REPLACEMENT TIRE HAD TO BE EXACTLY THE SAME AS ORIGINALLY CAME ON THE CAR AND I MIGHT NEED TO REPLACE TWO, AND POSSIBLY ALL FOUR TIRES.. THIS SEEMS COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE ON A CAR WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON THE TIRES! IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE TPMS SHOULD MONITOR TIRE PRESSURE... NOT MAKE, MODEL AND TREAD PATTERN AS THE DEALER TOLD ME. LASTLY, I GOT IN THE CAR FOR A DRIVE A FEW DAY AGO AND AFTER DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, HEARD A NOISE AND STOPPED TO INVESTIGATE.... ANOTHER FLAT TIRE AND NO WARNING WHATSOEVER. A SYSTEM OPERATING AS POORLY AS THIS ONE IS LESS THAN USELESS BECAUSE IF I HAD NO SYSTEM, I WOULDN'T EXPECT TO BE NOTIFIED OF A LOW TIRE AND WOULDN'T DEPEND ON THE SYSTEM. WHAT ABOUT A TIRE GOING FLAT OVER NIGHT? NO WARNING BEFORE DRIVING! I WOULD SUBMIT THE FAILURE OF THE SYSTEM TO NOTIFY THE DRIVER OF A LOW TIRE IN TWO, VERY OBVIOUS SCENARIOS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK AND SHOULD DEFINITELY BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
I BOUGHT A 2018 HONDA CR-V (1.5L TURBO ENGINE) IN AUGUST. IT ONLY HAS 1700 MILES, BUT SO FAR IT HAS STALLED ON ME 3 TIMES (WHILE DRIVING). THE FIRST 2 TIMES, I WAS UNDER 25 MPH AND IT STARTED STALLING. SEVERAL LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD CAUTIONING ENGINE FAILURE, BRAKE FAILURE, TIRE PRESSURE FAILURE, ETC. THE CAR WAS MAKING PINGING NOISES WHILE THESE LIGHTS WERE FLASHING AND IT WOULDN'T DRIVE ANY LONGER. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE ME TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE 3RD TIME THIS HAPPENED, I WAS GOING ALMOST 40MPH AND IT STALLED AGAIN (SAME AS BEFORE). THE CAR WAS ALSO SHAKING AND STUTTERING WHILE SIMPLY SITTING IDLE. HONDA SAID THAT THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR (CPK) WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED IT...HOWEVER, THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN I ASKED HONDA IF THIS STALLING ISSUE WAS RELATED TO ARTICLES DESCRIBING THE ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL (IN RECENT YEARS), THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AND SAID THEY COULDN'T COMMENT BECAUSE IT WASN'T A "HONDA ARTICLE". I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER THAT HAS COME TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THIS PROBLEM...YET, THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THAT IT'S A SERIOUS PROBLEM. THEY ALSO HAVE NOT DECLARED A RECALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS LIFE-THREATENING SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN THE CAR STALLED, I WASN'T ON THE EXPRESSWAY, BUT ON LOCAL ROADS; HOWEVER, I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT'S GOING TO STALL AGAIN. HONDA HAS GIVEN NO ASSURANCES THAT THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR CAN EVEN FIX IT.
AT APPROXIMATELY 5000 MILES I CHANGED THE OIL IN OUR 2018 CR-V (FOR THE FIRST TIME) AND REALIZED THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1.5 QUARTS TOO MUCH OIL (IT WASN'T ALL OIL, GASOLINE HAD DILUTED THE OIL). WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY AT THE HONDA DEALER IN GRAND ISLAND, NE TO HAVE THEM 'INSTALL UPDATED INJECTOR SOFTWARE AND SOMETHING CONCERNING THE A/C REGULATOR (THEY SAID).
GAS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINES OIL, CAUSING OIL LEVEL TO RISE, STRONG SMELL OF GAS AROUND CAR CONCERN ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE.
WHILE PERFORMING A STRAIGHT, SLOW SPEED STOP AT RED LIGHT IN CITY TRAFFIC, IN DRY WEATHER WITH NO ROAD DEBRIS, THE BRAKES FEEL SPONGY, LIKE THEY ARE NOT OPERATING AT FULL POWER, AND IS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. PRESSING HARDER ON THE BRAKE PETALS CAUSES A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE BRAKING SYSTEM THAT SOUNDS LIKE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGING. THE VEHICLE DOES COME TO A FULL STOP, BUT A LOW RUMBLING NOISE CONTINUES WHILE STOPPED. WHEN DRIVER RELEASES BRAKES, BEFORE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE LURCHES FORWARD ABRUPTLY AND RUMBLING NOISE STOPS. SUBSEQUENT OPERATION OF VEHICLE RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS SEQUENCE OF BEHAVIOR OCCURS SPORADICALLY. IT HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. INSPECTION BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC DID NOT UNCOVER ANY CAUSE FOR THIS BEHAVIOR AND NO ERROR CODES ARE RECORDED IN THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER. MECHANIC INDICATED THAT WITHOUT A RELIABLE WAY TO REPRODUCE THE FAULT, IT IS DIFFICULT TO KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG OR HOW TO FIX IT.
GASOLINE IS GETTING INTO THE OIL. SYMPTOMS ARE A GAS SMELL IN THE CABIN AND THE LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK IS ABOVE THE TOP FILL LEVEL. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP RUNNING CAUSING A DANGEROUS CONDITION. HONDA IS REPAIRING CARS IN COLD WEATHER STATES ONLY. A TSB WAS ISSUED IN OCTOBER 22, 2018. WHY AREN'T THEY REPAIRING ALL OF THE VEHICLES WITH THIS PROBLEM? I HAD THE OIL CHANGED ON MY CAR AND THE OIL LEVEL WAS 1/2 OVER THE FILL MARK.

THEY JUST CHANGE THE OIL AND DIDNT FIX THE SOFTWARE
ENGINE OIL WAS DILUTED WITH GASOLINE, CAUSING POSSIBLE MOTOR DAMAGE. DEALER REDID A FUEL MAPPING, AND MADE IT SO TEH FAN CANNOT BLOW UNTIL THE CAR IS FULLY WARMED. THIS WONT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THESE DIRECT INJECTED MOTORS LET GASOLINE PAST THE RINGS WHEN COLD, AND IF THE CAR IS COLD FREQUENTLY, THE GASOLINE WILL NOT VAPORIZE FORM THE OIL. IF LEFT UNCHECKED, THE INCREASED VOLUME OF LIQUID CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO LSOE POWER AND SHUT OFF AT ANY TIME, CAUSING A SAFETY RISK. I LIVE IN TEXAS, SO IT DOESN'T GET EXCEPTIONALLY COLD, BUT THIS HAPPENED ON A BRAND NEW CAR WITH LESS THAN 2500 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. IT'S BEEN 1 MONTH AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM SERVICE MANAGER. I CHECKED OIL LEVEL AFTER 1 MONTH OF DRIVING AND THE LEVEL IS ABOVE FULL WITH A SMELL OF GAS ONCE AGAIN. THIS IS MOST LIKELY CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY ENGINES LONGEVITY.

WOULD LIKE TO SEE A FORMAL RECALL WITH PROPER CORRECTIVE ACTION. DEALER SEEMED EVASIVE WHEN ASKED TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM, NO BIG DEAL JUST GAS IN THE OIL.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT WAS CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO CALL BACK. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,800.
