Multiple times the vehicle slammed stopped for no reason nothing around to warrant a stop or anything no real warning before it automatically brakes
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power before the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact stated that an unknown recall had been removed even though a recall repair was not performed on the vehicle. The contact filed a claim with the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 72,000.

On [XXX] at [XXX], I was driving down the road - there were no vehicles in front of me. The sky was clear and the sun was bright. There are several trees whose limbs extend high above the roadway causing a shadow to be created beneath them. All of a sudden, the collision avoidance system activated on my car. The "BRAKE" light illuminated, the "chirping" sound associated with the "BRAKE" light activation occurred, and the brakes were instantly applied slowing me from 40 mph to about 15 mph. There was no impediment (vehicles, pedestrians, animals, etc.) in front of my car nor was there a car next to mine in an adjacent lane. The only logical conclusion I could come up with is this: the tree limbs overhead created a "shadow" on the roadway. This "shadow" was of enough contrast in brightness from the roadway, just prior to this incident, that the system concluded there was an obstruction of some type in front of my car. There was not another car behind me for about 100 feet or so, but had they been within the normal distance that driver's follow the car in front of them, I have no doubt the result would have been a rear-end collision. I have had several instances in the past where a contrast in reflected brightness of the roadway surface has activated the "BRAKE" light on my dashboard and the "chirping" sound associated with it. All but one have occurred along a particular stretch of [XXX] just west of [XXX] (specifically, it is on the ramp from southbound [XXX] to westbound [XXX] at about [XXX] ). The car is scheduled to be inspected on Monday, January 27, 2025 by my local Honda dealer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owned a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle occasionally drifted to the left or right. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated while attempting to turn the steering wheel, excessive force was needed while turning the steering wheel. The contact stated that the steering wheel was stuck occasionally. No warning lights were illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was test driven and diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion and the front driver’s and passenger’s side tie rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall for similar vehicles between 2022 - 2025; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact attempted to contact the manufacturer; however, was unable to get through the prompts. The contact stated that the dealer had submitted paperwork to the manufacturer to verify any recalls. The failure mileage was 45,350.
My car has about 35,000 miles on it but while I was driving it, I could hear a loud, deep pumping noise coming from the lower front driver's side area. I noticed that when I accelerated from driving at a low speed (25mph) on a small residential road and then accelerated to a higher mph on a faster highway, the pumping noise would start and would make this constant loud deep pumping noise near the lower front side of my driver's seat. I could still hear the pumping noise even as I pressed the brake pedal to slow down the speed of my car. The deep loud pumping noise would temporarily stop only when I had pressed the brake pedal to a complete stop e.g. red traffic light or yielding to oncoming traffic. However, the deep pumping noise would continue to start all over again once I continued to drive from my momentary stop position on the road/highway. My family member (retired RN) tested my car and said she noticed the same noise too but she also noticed that the car would make that constant pumping noise even AFTER parking the car, turning the car off, and removing the car key! She noticed that would happen after driving the car for more than 10 miles or so. She told me to have the car checked at a certified Honda dealer, because I could be in or cause a big accident if the car fails on the road. So, I took my car to TripleJ Honda-Guam and the staff said the pumping noise is due to a faulty "brake booster" and would charge me $2,000 to repair/replace it. Because the car mileage is only 35,000, I checked NHTSA website and there are brake booster recalls for other Honda models but not this 2019 Honda CRV, yet. I also checked other websites and found that there are many other 2018-2019 Honda CRV owners with the very same brake booster problem. I honestly believe that there are tens of thousands (or more) unknowing Honda CRV owners who have this very same brake booster problem, paid Honda to replace it, but they haven't reported their brake booster problems to NHTSA.
Driving downtown seattle going through an intersection - green light - no pedestrians in walks - no oncoming or opposing traffic at the time. Uphill orientation. Doing about 25 mph. The system did a sudden and hard brake! This is the second time this has happened. First time was in a parking lot at low speed going over a speed bump and the passenger hurt their knee on the dash. It is clearly a problem and a serious hazard to all.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to turn in the intended direction. The contact stated that the steering wheel was sticking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Went 12/21/24 Coggin Honda Orlando for oil change and they also do safety recall campaign fuel pump motor. After replacement still with problem worst because have problem starting the vehicle. When for 2 time they fix pinched o-ring, get the car worse this time my car shut off when backing up. When 3 time they change again fuel pump this time inside the car smell too much gasoline have drive back home with windows down and car also turn off in the highway at 60 miles putting me and my family at risk of an accident im highway plus smell gasoline got my throat sore.
On 2 occasions in this past year 2024 I have had the emergency brake system completely stop the car suddenly without any cars being in front and behind. Both incidents were at night and both are caused when reflection happens or when I am driving over steel grates. This is a very critical issue as I can get hit from the rear or it can cause harm as the brake system is very fast.
I would like to file a claim for defective paint. The Obsidian Blue Pearl paint on my vehicle is defective, and most significantly is peeling off, diminishing the value and exposing the vehicle to conditions that will cause rust. Honda has issued extended warranties for defective paint, but my vehicle does not fall under one of the already issues extended warranties. I was told to file a complaint with you.
For approx. the last 12-18 months, I have experienced "sticky steering" during every drive. The "sticky" feeling becoming worse as the speed of the vehicle increases. There is a recall on 2023-25 CR-V EPS Grbx Greasing Saf Rec, but not on 2019 Honda CR-V's. I took my CR-V to the Honda dealer who was able to experience the steering issue of our CRV and was quoted $3,987.65 for the repair plus $169.00 for an alignment which is required for such repair. This issue is a huge safety concern. In researching the "sticky steering" issue, it appears to be a common issue with 2019 Honda CR-V's and should, in my opinion, be considered for recall. Due to the cost of the repair, I contacted Honda Corp. to request assistance with this repair. My case with denied because 1) my vehicle is out of warranty, 2) I didn't get my maintenance items done at a Honda dealership (which I don't know what an oil change has to do with the steering), and 3) this vehicle is the only Honda I've owned, which is incorrect as this is my 3rd Honda (2006 Accord, 2009 Civic and 2019 CR-V). I corrected the case manager about this being my first Honda (no comment was made by the case manager acknowledging his incorrect information or my loyalty as a 3-time Honda owner), questioned him why maintenance items would be a factor with a steering issue (case manager said it was a loyalty thing on my part by having maintenance done at Honda), and asked if I could appeal his decision. I was told no reconsideration would be given on my case. I am making this compliant because this is a safety issue and also a common issue on this year, make and model. I am hopeful if enough compliants are filed that Honda will be forced to consider this a recall item. Until them, I am left to figure out a way to pay for this costly repair on my own.
I started to get errors that there was an issue with my vehicles fuel injector, indicating that it was too rich and thus disabling all my safety features. I am not the only CR-V to experience fuel injectors failing for this model. Even at my dealership, the week i went in for mine, another customer with the same make, model and milage had the same issue and had to have all their fuel injectors replaced. I know that the fuel pump was already identified but i feel that the issue was bigger than that.

I am writing a complaint for 2019 Honda CR-V. While I am aware of the fuel pump recall for this model, what is not recalled and needs to be are the multiple dashboard lights that turn on and remain lit that many owners of this model and several years earlier have not been able to find solutions for. The lights turn on regardless of having a new battery. 2017-2019 Honda CRV owners have not been able to get a clear answer from dealers, and only have been told by Honda to "go to a dealer" who is not able to give a solution. Some have reported that the issue is poor fuel inspectors that needs to be replaced. Finding answers to this is costly after already investing in a vehicle that we trusted would be safe. The multiple dashboard lights are distracting and a safety hazard, and the fact that we do not know the reason they are turning on puts us in a position of driving on the road without knowing if our vehicle will stall, break down, etc. My personal vehicle has been inspected. I am requesting, at minimum, that if a recall cannot be issued, then owners be provided at least one free diagnostic service at a Honda dealer to address an issue that was the responsibility of the vehicle maker.

Was driving on a major highway when multiple dashboard lights became lit and car went into limp mode. We were put at risk because we could not keep up with traffic and we were 10 miles from home on a cold winter day. Car was brought to a Honda dealer who determined that the engine and turbo were destroyed as a result of a head gasket failure.

For several months (around early December) the steering wheel has been snapping in and out of place and not steering smoothly and had a subtle clicking sound. It felt as if it was catching on something, but the car was NOT pulling or shaking. I brought it to a local auto shop (that replaced my tires) and then Tire Kingdom and neither found any issues and ran a diagnostic report. Wheel alignment was good. I knew something was not right and my husband experienced the same sort of popping in and out of place sensation (felt like it was catching on something) as well. I took it to the Honda dealer today (March 12) and was informed I needed to replace the rack and pinion. My car was not part of this Honda recall [XXX] ), but it sounds like quite a similar issue. Here is a video from the Honda diagnostic: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle stalls when driving and breaks suddenly. The dealership said that there was a problem with the fuel pump similar to other recalls but this vin is not included in the recall
My wife was driving the Honda CRV (61k miles, 2019) through a parking lot when suddenly all kinds of buzzers and warning lights came on. There was no warning anything was wrong before this. All of the Driver Assist features read failures, none of the gauges worked, all of the dash was lit up like a Christmas Tree. Sufficed to say this freaked my wife out. She was in a parking lot, she's very anxious and this nearly caused an accident in the lot. There was no visible loss of power, but if we were on the freeway? Terrible accident! We've heard of other people having the same issue from CRV forums. Anyway, we took it to two different places to get the codes checked, and the codes were p0172 (fuel system too rich) and u0401-68 (ecm failure). We then went to a mechanics shop who diagnosed the problem but said they couldn't touch anything until the ECM was fixed by a dealer. We went to Honda West in Las Vegas, NV (W Sahara location), but they said there was no issue with the ECM. In fact, they said that "it's normal for everything to shut off like that when one system goes wrong or bad." Well, the problem is my wife suffers from occasional anxiety and panic attacks, but can drive normally. We've had a check engine light come on before and we've handled it. But the whole dash lighting up for 1 or 2 issues? A potential loss of power, skid control, driver assist features, all out the window because of two codes? By the way, the dealer said nothing was wrong with the ECM. Then why did a code populate for it? This needs to be fixed. The fact that I'm out $200 for a diagnostic fee, to be told that the issue is the fuel injectors (lines up with p0172 code) is fine, but why is everything lighting up like that? It's dangerous, and it's also a KNOWN issue. They need to recall their fuel injectors on their CRVs. I only found out AFTER I BOUGHT ONE. The ECM also CLEARLY needs to be fixed. Now, again, they're making money from misery.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle shuddered and lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed low pressure fuel pump and a failed high pressure fuel pump. The contact was informed that the low-pressure fuel pump and high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the contact was informed that the high-pressure fuel pump was not covered under the recall. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not drivable without the replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
While driving on the highway, the vehicle went into limp mode then the engine light came on. Luckily I was able to pull off to the shoulder. After bringing it to the dealership, P0087 was found and they did the fuel pump recall. This did not fix the problem, and it was found the high pressure fuel pump failed and it was not covered by the recall. After dealership fix the high pressure fuel pump, now they told me the fuel injector also failed.
Car automatically brakes when there is no obstacles and sometimes no other vehicles in roadway. Most of the time when approaching a bridge. Usually travelling at speeds above 50. Hasn't been inspected by dealer. This increases risk of rear end collision. The light saying to brake comes on prior to the brakes engaging. This has happened multiple times during ownership of this vehicle (purchased new). Most recent incident was within the last month or so. There is no indication of the cause. There are multiple other issues with this vehicle to include issues with the display screen, door seals, and poor interior, however those do not appear to cause issues of safety at this time.

My car starts hesitating, like it won't take gas. I can't get out of the way of other vehicles and almost got hit and my check engine light started flashing. I had to turn my car off and restart. The check engine light went away but it still sputtered and wouldn't take gas, I had to drive show. If I don't back off, the engine light comes on and flashes and I have to shut it off.
As i was driving on the highway, and with no warning my engine just shut off. Without any warning ligts or anything. Car then started back up and was able to pull off the highway when again this time the engine light came on and then just seized. And would not turn back over. Luckily traffic was not moving very fast on the highway or a serious accident could have happened due to the engine shutting down. Vehicle has been in shop for 2 months and was just returned to me, with a lot of the engine having to be replaced.
My CRV 2019 EX Honda is losing power while drivng. It is very concerning since it is happening very often and it can reduce all of a sudden the speed while driving on a highway. I have to stop the car, turn off and then on again to continue. I went to see if there was a recall, but no recall for my car. They say I should change the gas cap but I am not sure that will solve the problem since I’ve heard it can be a software.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance Emergency Automatic Braking unexpectedly activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road. The contact stated that during the failure there were no vehicles or objects nearby. There was another vehicle behind and was able to avoid crashing into the rear of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Action Number: EA24002 (FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 37,000.
Service advisor recommended replacement of Differential Assembly indicating that there is fluid leaking.
UNKNOWN , Rubber seal in the sunroof ripped when I opened it, causing it to make little holes, after the car has sat in dealership lot for a while. I bought the car used so that is the reason the sunroof has not been opened for a long time as it was just in the dealership lot. This could possibly cause water to leak inside of the car.
Made an appointment after notification of recall 21V-215 with Roper Honda in Joplin, Missouri to have the part listed in the recall replaced. Was told part was not available, but as soon as it became available I would be contacted. It has been two years. When receiving regular maintenance for the vehicle earlier this year (2024), I again asked about the availability of the recalled part. I was told that I would receive a letter this fall regarding when to bring my vehicle in to have the recalled part replaced. I have not, as of November 7, 2024, received said letter.
Forward braking system came on while traveling approximately 25 mph with no car in front of me. The system showed flashing braking light then car applied the brakes hard causing me to drop to a very slow speed. I was fortunate to not get rear ended. The braking system intermittently shows lights for no reason but has never applied the brakes before. I brought this to the dealer while it was still under warranty and explained the lights came on for no reason while no car was in front of me and was told it was working properly. This is a huge safety concern that Honda seems to be dismissing. Thank you
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
A few times, the car has braked suddenly even when there were no cars or people in front of it. The last two instances were particularly dangerous because another car was right behind me, and the car braked hard. My daughter was in the car during these incidents, so I've since turned off the driving assistance feature because I believe it's more dangerous than driving without it. I can say that this has happened more than eight times."

Steering sticky when driving car on road.
I was driving 40Mph on a two way road, no cars in front of me. I was going straight when all of the sudden my car auto brake activated. Normally I’ll get the warning, where it goes “beep beep” and big orange text that says “BRAKE” pops up but most of the time that happens if there is a car in front of me, and maybe I am coming up on it a little fast. It’s never hit the brakes for me though. And it’s never gave me the brake warning when there is nothing in front of me. So I am driving at 40Mph, clear road, nothing in front of me that should set off the sensor when all of the sudden my car hits the brakes and gives me a huge shock. It was almost immediate, I didn’t even hear the beep beep or see the warning until after the brakes were activated. It only lasted a second or so and then I was able to continue driving but now I’m scared.
