HEAVY RAIN CAUSES MY 2007 HONDA FIT TO LEAK INTO THE REAR PASSENGER FLOOR BOARD. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE AUTOMATIC CARWASH WAS TO STRONG. BY THE TIME I DISCOVERED THE WATER, IT HAD STARTED TO MOLD UNDER THE FLOOR MAT. IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET IT CORRECTED. BY THIS TIME IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY DID NOT HAVE A RECORD OF MY REPORTING IT THE FIRST TIME. THE FIX THAT WAS DONE WAS RE-SEALING THE DOOR PANEL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TOO LOW, WHICH CAUSED THE UNDERCARRIAGE TO STRIKE AGAINST THE GROUND. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SHIELD DETACHED. THE LOW DESIGN CAUSES THE UNDERCARRIAGE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH OBJECTS IN THE ROAD AND HIGH-SURFACED DRIVEWAYS. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO AVOID A FEW CRASHES. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED THE CONTACT'S PHONE CALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY OFFERED TO TRADE-IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DECLINED BECAUSE IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH MONEY. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING ELSE COULD BE DONE AND REFERRED HER TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
CUSTOMER WANTS TO KNOW IF THE LIFE THREATENING ERROR WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG THAT WAS DISCOVERED DURING A CRASH TEST AFFECTS HER HONDA FIT THAT SHE JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED. **CC THE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED FOR ALL HONDA FIT'S THAT WERE MANUFACTURED BEFORE NOVEMBER 2006. *JB
CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH 2007 HONDA FIT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HESITATION TO DOWN SHIFT AT 2-5 MPH, SUCH AS ROLLING STOPS AT YIELD SIGNS. WHEN YOU STEP DOWN ON ACCELERATOR TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO GET CONFUSED AND DOES NOT ALLOW ACCELERATION AT ALL FOR 2-3 SECONDS. IT IS OKAY IF COMPLETELY STOPPED, BUT NOT FROM A ROLLING STOP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. THE HONDA DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS WAS A DEFECT, BUT HONDA TECHNICAL SUPPORT SAID THE FIT MODELS ALL DO IT, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE WAS ABNORMALLY LOW, WHICH CAUSED HER TO FREQUENTLY SCRAPE THE PARTS UNDERNEATH THE FRAME WHILE DRIVING. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THIS WAS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED. THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM BUT NO REMEDY WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT FOUND A RELATED TSB BUT IT ONLY APPLIED TO VEHICLES UNDER 36,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE ELECTRONIC STEERING CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. UPDATED EVOQ 02/03/11. *JB
INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 12/29/2006 IN OUR 2007 HONDA FIT AND WAS STRUCK IN THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADLIGHT AND RIGHT SIDE WHICH CRUSHED OUR VEHICLE ALL THE BACK TO THE WINDSHIELD, BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE GOING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH WHEN THE MUSTANG PULLED OUT FROM A PARKING LOT, WENT ACROSS 3 LANES AND STRUCK OUR HONDA FIT. CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND HAD TO BE TOWED WHILE MY FAMILY AND MYSELF WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. WE HAVE THE POLICE REPORT AND PICTURES. *JB
TL* - WHILE DRIVING A 2007 HONDA FIT 30-40 MPH THE CONTACT 'S VEHICLE REAR ENDED A 1997 MERCEDES BENZ. DAMAGE WAS DONE TO FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE, BUT THE AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT CAN PROVIDE A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT AND PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE. *AK UPDATED 1/26/2007 - *NM
APPLYING THE FOOT BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, ENGINE RPM STARTED TO INCREASE TO THE POINT WHERE THE BRAKE WOULD NOT BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. VEHICLE PROCEEDED INTO THE INTERSECTION. DEALER FOUND THAT THE HIGH END OF THE IDLE CONTROL WAS NOT PROPERLY TRAINED. DEALER ACCOMPLISHED THE TRAINING. UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME IF IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *JB
THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHEN I PHONED THE DEALER TO INQUIRE IF THIS WOULD BE COVERED BY MY WARRANTY THEY SAID MOST LIKELY UNLESS A PEBBLE BOUNCED UP AND PUNCTURED A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER. I FOUND IT ODD THAT HE WAS SO FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM. SURE ENOUGH, A "TINY PEBBLE" PUNCTURED A HOLE THROUGH MY CONDENSER. I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST BAD LUCK UNTIL I DID SOME RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM HAPPENING TO OTHER HONDA OWNERS. I DRIVE UNDER NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. WHAT IS TO SAY THIS WON'T KEEP HAPPENING. IT MUST BE A DESIGN FLAW. I PAID $469.00 TO GET THIS FIXED, NOT SOMETHING I CAN KEEP DOING. I ASKED THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING I COULD DO TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. THE ANSWER NO...TRANSLATION FOR ME NOT DRIVING IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO PREVENT A TINY PEBBLE FROM DOING THIS AGAIN. HELP PLEASE. *NM
EXCESSIVE GLARE FROM POOR DESIGN OF HEADLIGHT AND LED TAILLIGHTS CAUSING EXCESSIVE GLARE CREATING SAFETY RISK FOR OTHER VEHICLES AND OBSTRUCTION OF PEDESTRIAN AND ROAD HAZARDS. THIS APPLIES TO ALL ACCORD COUPE AND SEDANS WITH LED TAIL LIGHTS MODEL LX EX VP SE SITED TO DATE. HEADLIGHTS ARE OVERLY BRIGHT AND MISADJUSTED ALSO CAUSING BLINDING OF OTHER VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CONTRIBUTING TO DISTRACTION, GLARE BLINDING AND EYE STRAIN. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN A FRONTAL IMPACT CRASH. THE SPEED AT THE TIME OF IMPACT WAS 40 MPH. THERE WAS NO PRE-IMPACT BRAKING. THE DRIVER WAS WEARING THE SEAT BELT BUT THERE WERE SOFT TISSUE INJURIES SUSTAINED ON THE NECK AND BACK. A POLICE REPORT WAS PROCESSED.
TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES BY ITSELF. WHEN HE TURNS THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT THE VEHICLE PROCEEDS AT APPROXIMATELY 2-5 MPH. THE CONTACT STATES ALL HE HAS TO DO IS TURN THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY AND THE VEHICLE MOVES FORWARD. HE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. HE SAID THEY COMPARED THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER HONDA CIVIC 07 AND WAS TOLD THAT IS HOW THESE CARS WORK. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT WHEN HE TURNS THE WHEEL AND STEPS ON THE GAS PEDAL HIS SPEED DOUBLES. THE CONTACT HAS A HONDA CIVIC EX, IT IS NOT LISTED AS AN OPTION IN THE MENU.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER SKIPS ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THE WATER THAT REMAINS REDUCES THE CONTACTS VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGERS AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON AND OFF WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE WAS IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100.
TL* - THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE AIR BAG CRASH TEST RESULTS OF THE 2007 HONDA FIT. THE INSURANCE INSTITUTE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY REPORTED THE FOLLOWING R ON THIS VEHICLE: HTTP://WWW.IIHS.ORG/RATINGS/RATING.ASPX?ID=722 "THE HONDA FIT WAS INTRODUCED IN THE 2007 MODEL YEAR. THE FIT WAS EVALUATED IN TWO 40 MPH FRONTAL OFFSET CRASH TESTS. IN THE FIRST TEST, THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYED TOO EARLY, WITH THE RESULT THAT HIGH FORCES WERE RECORDED ON THE DUMMY'S HEAD WHEN IT BOTTOMED OUT THE AIRBAG AND HIT THE STEERING WHEEL HARD, INDICATING THE LIKELIHOOD OF HEAD INJURIES. THIS LED HONDA TO MODIFY THE FRONTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CHARACTERISTICS ON MODELS PRODUCED AFTER NOVEMBER 2006. ALSO, HONDA WILL INITIATE A SAFETY IMPROVEMENT CAMPAIGN TO MODIFY AT ITS COST VEHICLES PRODUCED EARLIER. A SECOND FIT WAS TESTED WITH THE MODIFIED AIRBAGS, AND THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG INFLATED LATER. RATINGS OF THE FIT WAS BASED ON THE RESULTS OF THE SECOND TEST, EXCEPT STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE WHICH WAS BASED ON BOTH TESTS. RESTRAINTS/DUMMY KINEMATICS. DUMMY MOVEMENT WAS WELL CONTROLLED. THE SIDE CURTAIN AND SIDE THORAX AIRBAGS DEPLOYED DURING THE CRASH. DURING REBOUND, THE DUMMYS HEAD CONTACTED THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG, WHICH KEPT THE HEAD AWAY FROM ANY STIFF STRUCTURE THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY. MEASURES TAKEN FROM THE HEAD, NECK, AND CHEST INDICATE LOW RISK OF INJURIES TO THESE BODY REGIONS. *AK
I WAS FOLLOWING BEHIND A NEW 2007 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE NEW LED BRAKE LIGHTS AT NIGHT. WHEN THE DRIVER STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND LEDS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT IT GAVE ME INSTANT EYE STRAIN PAIN IN MY EYES. I ALSO COULD NOT SEE AROUND THE VEHICLE OR TO THE SIDES. THOSE LEDS ARE WAY TOO BRIGHT AND ARE BLINDING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTICED THE SAME THING. EVEN DURING THE DAY, THEY ARE ANNOYING AT BEST. *NM
