THE CAR DASHBOARD LIGHTS/RADIO LOST ALL POWER FOR 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN THE EPS LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP. THE CAR LOST POWER STEERING AND WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER DURING THIS TIME. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE DRIVING AND COULD NOT TURN IT FOR THE 2-3 SECONDS THAT THE CAR SYSTEMS WERE 'OFFLINE.' THE NEXT DAY, THE CAR DID THE SAME THING AND I LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN VARIOUS WEATHERS THROUGHOUT THE DAY ON BOTH THE HIGHWAY AND BACK ROADS. UTTERLY TERRIFYING. TOWED IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUES AND CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH 0 FIXES DONE. WAS ADVISED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT AS NORMAL SINCE NO COMPLAINTS COULD BE PROVEN WITH DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. DROVE IT WITH TREPIDATION FOR THE NEXT 5 DAYS AND ON THE 5TH DAY, THE CAR AGAIN LOST ALL POWER TO VEHICLE, DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP, ENGINE LIGHT LIT UP, RADIO TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON, STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT AND WHEEL LOCKED WHILE DRIVING. CAR CONTINUED TO DO THIS OVER THE PERIOD OF AN HR 50+ TIMES. PARKED CAR, VIDEO RECORDED IT LOSING POWER, EPS LIGHT TURNING ON/RADIO TURNING ON/OFF, STEERING WHEEL LOCKING WHILE PARKING AND DRIVING. TOWED IT A 2ND TIME TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHO HAS DRIVEN IT A TOTAL OF 38 MILES WITH NOTHING BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN WITH DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. NO HARD CODES TO BE FOUND, AS ANYTIME THE CAR IS TURNED OFF ALL CODES ARE ERASED FROM THE EPS SYSTEM. CALLED HONDA CORP. AND THEY STATED SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VIN NUMBER THAT NO PROBLEM EXISTS FOR THIS VEHICLE AND SINCE THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT PROVE ANY ISSUES THROUGH DIAGNOSTIC TESTING THAT MY CLAIM IS UNFOUNDED. HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 14-058 WAS RELEASED AND THE WARRANTY EXTENDED FOR 2007-08 HONDA FITS, BUT THEY ARE DENYING ISSUES WITH 2009 EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE REPORTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THEM. DEALERSHIP UNWILLING TO FIX 'UNKNOWN ISSUE'.
I WAS IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT 10-6-18. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY AND RESULTED IN MY BACK BEING BROKE AND TWO DIFFERENT PLACES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA FIT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.
ON AUGUST 17, 2018 MY HONDA FIT STOPPED MOVING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE ENTRY RAMP OF A FREEWAY. IT WAS TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD THE #2 SPARK PLUG WAS DAMAGED. THEY INSTALLED A THREAD INSERT AND REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG AND IT COST $812.55. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE SPARK PLUG POPPED OUT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. WHEN I ASKED FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIR AT THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER THAT HAD DONE THE 100,000 MAJOR SERVICE ON THE HONDA THREE YEARS AGO, I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME. I HAVE SINCE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT PROBLEMS WITH SPARK PLUGS POPPING OUT OR BLOWING OUT IN HONDA FITS ARE NOT UNCOMMON AND THAT OCCURRENCE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IF I HAD BEEN WARNED OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM I COULD HAVE HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND AVOIDED THE EXPENSE AS WELL AS THE DANGEROUS BREAK-DOWN WHEN ENTERING A FREEWAY. I AM INCLUDING THE REPAIR RECEIPT.
SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SYSTEM REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AFTER DRIVER'S SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK INTERMITTENTLY AFTER STARTING CAR AND BUCKLING; WARNING LIGHT CAME ON/REMAINED ON. VEHICLE WAS PARKED. REPAIR COST: $1,443.
THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE RECALLS REPORTED ON NHTSA FOR THE 2009 HONDA FIT. HOWEVER, THERE ARE SEVERAL TAKATA RECALLS
BROKEN PASSENGER TRANSAXLE. OUR CAR SUFFERED A BREAK WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A CITY STREET STOPLIGHT, SO THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR WAS MINIMAL AND WE POSED NO DANGER TO OTHER VEHICLES.(THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY DISABLED AND HAD TO BE PUSHED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD) WE WERE FORTUNATE - IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS, THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE .THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE THE TRANSAXLE CAN BREAK, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING, MOBILITY AND OTHER UNDER HOOD VEHICLE DAMAGE. MY VEHICLE HAS ALL SERVICE AND INSPECTION WORK DONE AT A LOCAL HONDA DEALER (HONDA OF JOLIET) AND THE FAILING PART WAS NEVER DISCOVERED. BECAUSE THE DEFECT/DAMAGE IS HIDDEN UNDER THE TRANS AXLE BOOT,THIS PREVENTED ANY VISUAL INSPECTION FROM REVEALING IT. HOWEVER, THE DANGER EXISTS AND A ROUTINE INTERNET CHECK REVEALS THIS IS INDEED A GLOBAL ISSUE THAT AFFECTS MANY OF THESE CARS. NOTE - I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF THE BROKEN AXLE APART AND PUSHED TOGETHER, TO SHOW HOW THE DAMAGE IS HIDDEN UNDER THE BOOT. MY CAR ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF WHEN I DON'T LOCK MY DOOR AND THE DOORS CONSTANTLY LOCK EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS OFF OR I'M PARKED OR IF I'M DRIVING ON THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING FROM OKLAHOMA TO CALIFORNIA (SPECIFICALLY KINGMAN, AZ TO BARSTOW, CA), MY ENGINE SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. IT WAS PUT OUT IMMEDIATELY BY A GOOD SAMARITAN. AFTER THE FIRE, THERE WAS OIL LEAKAGE ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY AND WHERE IT WAS TOWED; THERE WAS ALSO GAS LEAKAGE. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 6/7/18. THEY SAY THAT THERE WAS NO MOTOR OIL PRIOR TO THE FIRE STARTING SO ARE BLAMING ME FOR THE FIRE. I HAD AN OIL CHANGE ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND SAW NO SIGNS OF OIL LEAKAGE AT MY PARKING SPACE OR ANY TIME DURING THIS TRIP. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THIS FIRE AND NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. I WAS VERY FRIGHTENED AND AM STILL IMPACTED BY THIS FIRE. I AM BEING TOLD THAT THE REPAIR WILL BE $14,000.00 WHICH IS WAY MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. I AM 68 YEARS OLD AND AM ON A FIXED INCOME. I HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN GOOD CARE OF MY CARS AND TOOK GOOD CARE OF THIS ONE. IT WAS PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2017 AND HAS BEEN A GOOD CAR. IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN LESS THAN 50 MILES A WEEK SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. IT IS CUSTOMARY TO "BLAME" THE CONSUMER FOR WHAT HAPPENS. I DO NOT BELIEVE I DID ANYTHING TO CAUSE THIS FIRE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE CAR DEALERSHIP TO LISTEN TO ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY THAT THE OIL LEAKAGE OCCURRED AFTER THE FIRE, NOT BEFORE IT. THERE WAS TONS OF OIL LEAKAGE ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY, AT A CAR REPAIR SHOP & ALL OVER A UHAUL CAR TRANSPORT TRAILER. I TRULY BELIEVE THERE IS ANOTHER CAUSE FOR THIS FIRE.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING, CAUSES DIFFICULTY IN STEERING AND POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL- DIAGNOSED BY SERVICE TECHNICIAN AS FAILING EPS CONTROL.
THE CAR WAS STOPPED IN A DRIVEWAY WAITING TO PULL INTO A BUSY ROAD. WHEN THERE WAS A BREAK IN THE TRAFFIC, THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED, THE CAR MOVED FORWARD A LITTLE BIT, AND THEN THERE WAS A LOSS OF ACCELERATION AND A RATCHETING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR DID NOT MAKE IT ONTO THE STREET BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN TO VERIFY THE SYMPTOMS OF THE FAILURE, WE NOTICED THAT THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS WHEN PLACED IN PARK. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE LEFT FRONT AXLE HAD BROKEN.

TAKATA RECALL .QUESTION ; MY VECHILE POWER STEERING LOCKS UP EPS DASH LIGHT STEERING WHEEL LIGHTS UP. YELLOW ON DASH BOARD THIS GOES ON THE CAR AND DISABLES IT AND DOSE IT A LOT . IN SPEEDS OF UNDER 25 M.P. H.CAR WILL SHUT DOWN . WORRIED OF THE ACCIDENT IT MAY CAUSE . TOO SAFETY CONCERNED . AND ONLY HAVE 57171 MILES ON VECHILE . WHILE IN MOTION. TURNING ALSO LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS. IN LOCAL CITY STREETS
ACCELERATED TO TURN RIGHT ONTO TOWN MAIN STREET FROM STRIP MALL AND LOST FORWARD MOTION AND ABILITY TO STEER. BANGING, SPINNING, BUZZING NOISE UNDER HOOD. COULD NOT MOVE FORWARD IN DRIVE OR BACK IN REVERSE. IN "PARK", CAR ROLLED BACKWARD INTO ANOTHER CAR'S FRONT BUMPER. TOWED ON FLAT BED. MECHANIC FOUND SNAPPED RIGHT FRONT AXLE; INDICATED BREAKAGE = VERY UNCOMMON.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ENTER INTO OTHER LANES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. YARBOROUGH HONDA IN FLORENCE, SOUTH CAROLINA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
THE HOOD OF MY CAR IS RUSTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOOD. ALL OF THE RUST SPOTS ARE AT THE SPOT WELDS WHERE THE HOOD AND SUBHOOD ARE ATTACHED TO EACH OTHER. HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A PROBLEM. NO CAR SHOULD RUST FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
DECEMBER 2017 I HAD MY 2009 HONDA FIT INSPECTED FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND PASSED. JANUARY 29, 2018 I TOOK MY CAR TO DAVID MCDAVID HONDA IRVING, TX FOR INSPECTION AS THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN AND WAS MAKING WEIRD MOVEMENTS AS I SHIFTED GEARS. THE TECHNICIAN REPORT SAID: THERE WAS A 6 INCH RODENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL CHARGE I WAS ASKED TO PAY ON FEBRUARY 3, 2018 WAS $1510.01 HONDA KNOWS THAT THEY HAVE THIS PROBLEM AS THEY SELL ON AMAZON TAPES AGAINST RODENS ( HTTPS://WWW.AMAZON.COM/HONDA-4019-2317-RODENT-TAPE/DP/B00AJTG3N0/REF=REDIR_MOBILE_DESKTOP?_ENCODING=UTF8&DPID=31IIUDIOHKL&DPPL=1&KEYWORDS=RODENT%20TAPE&PI=AC_SX236_SY340_FMWEBP_QL65&QID=1517350918&REF=PLSRCH&REF_=MP_S_A_1_1&SR=8-1), YET THEY DIDN'T OFFER TO COVER THE REPLACEMENT COST OR TO PAY EVEN PART OF IT. THE TOTAL COST OF REPLACEMENT WAS SHIFTED ON ME AS CONSUMER. I KEPT THE ORIGINAL - DAMAGED - HARNESS. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO.
On Jan. 28, 2018 the drive shaft on my Honda Fit snapped while up shifting onto the main road. Car was towed and repaired the following day by a local shop. At the time there was no know recall for this part. My information and claim was submitted to Honda on 2/08/2021 with invoice and paid receipt. Honda verified that the part was repaired on my car and paid for. Honda has failed to either pay for the repair or send a letter of denial. Honda has also failed to return phone calls or return email. It should be noted that Honda claim agent harassed me by asking for unreasonable documentation such to prove the car was not in an accident or had to be pushed into the service bay at the repair shop. Claim number available upon request.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIA HONDA NORTHAMPTON (293 KING ST, NORTHAMPTON, MA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC STEERING BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AXLE BROKE IN HALF- NOT AT THE SOCKET. MECHANIC SAID HE'S NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. IT DID NOT BREAK ON A BUMP. I WAS TURNING LEFT ON A BUSY STREET AND IT JUST BROKE. AFTER CALLING HONDA DEALERS IN THE AREA, EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE OUT OF ABS AXLES. I WONDER WHY.
FRONT DRIVER SIDE CV AXLE BROKE IN TWO. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY--I WAS ON CITY STREET, WAITING FOR LEFT TURN SIGNAL TO ENTER HIGHWAY. VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND ENGINE MAKING CLUNKING NOISES--I THOUGHT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED.
ROOF IS FADING, FROM ABOUT MIDDLE OF ROOF TO THE REAR. REST OF THE CAR IS STILL ITS SHINNY BLUE COLOR.
"TAKATA RECALL" WE GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT ALL THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND EXPLODED MY GOD DAUGHTER WAS HURT BUT NOT BY THE ACCIDENT BUT BY THE AIRBAGS THAT BURNED MY GODDAUGHTERS FACE (NOSE, EYE AND LIP) BURNED HER SHOULDER. A FRIEND OF MINE WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE SHE RAN A STOP SIGN THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE DUE TO THE LIGHTING AND ALSO ALL OF THE TREES RIGHT INFRONT OF IT. SHE DIDN'T KNOW OF SEE THE STOP SIGN SHE RAN IT AND GOT HIT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE.
IN ADDITION TO THE TAKATA INFLATORS RECALL, THE SRS COMPUTER IS NOT FUNCTIONING. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED AN INFLATOR LAST YEAR, THEY NOTICED THAT THE SRS COMPUTER IS COMPLETELY DEAD AND SAID I WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE.
WHILE TURNING RIGHT FROM A STOP IN BUSY URBAN INTERSECTION I HEARD LOUD POP AND THE CAR STOPPED MOVING. AFTER TOW TO LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND INSPECTION THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT MY RIGHT SIDE(PASSENGER)DRIVE AXLE WAS BROKEN. NO DETERMINATION OF CAUSE WAS OFFERED ONLY ESTIMATE TO REPAIR.DUE TO UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND PART THAT WAS INVOLVED(BASICALLY STEEL ROD THAT SHOULD NOT BREAK OPEN)I RESEARCHED HONDA WEB SITE FOR RECALLS AND FOUND ONE FOR 2014 HONDA DRIVE AXLES THAT WERE BREAKING UNDER IDENTICAL CIRCUMSTANCES RECALL#14V258000. MY INSPECTION REVEALED CRYSTALLIZATION OF AXLE MATERIAL(PROBABLY DUE TO IMPROPER PROCESSING DURING MANUFACTURE). ABOVE MENTIONED RECALL WAS DONE BECAUSE OF PROCESSING PROBLEM. THE CAR LOSES POWER STEERING AND THE CAR BECOMES DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD AT ~40MPH AND WHEN TRYING TO PARALLEL PARK AS WELL AS PARKING HEAD-IN. AS OF 9/5/17, THE POWER STEERING HAS FAILED FOUR TIMES. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON EACH TIME. THE TEMPERATURE HAS NEVER BEEN BELOW 50 DEGREES WHEN THE POWER STEERING HAS FAILED. SOMETIMES THE RADIO SHUTS OFF WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILS, BUT NOT ALWAYS. HONDA HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE POWER STEERING IN 2007-08 HONDA FITS, BUT NOT FOR 2009 FITS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY SEAT MOVED BACK SUDDENLY. I AM SHORT AND MY RIGHT FOOT COULD NOT REACH THE PEDAL. I SUDDENLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT ON THE GRASS TO REDUCE THE SPEED OF THE CARD AND MANAGED TO STOP THE CARD. I STILL CAN MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD. IT'S LOCKED.
MY DAUGHTER, [XXX] PURCHASED THE VEHICLE APRIL 5TH 2017. THE PASSENGER TAKATA AIR BAG WAS REPLACED SEPTEMBER2016 THE DRIVERS TAKATA AIR BAG REPLACED MARCH 2017 AT MCCLARTA HONDA WORK # 669716. IN LITTLE ROCK, AR. A FEW DAYS BEFORE SHE PURCHASED IT. THE OFFICER INVESTIGATING THE CRASH STATED HE WAS 100% SURE THE DRIVERS AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED DUE THE SERIOUS IMPACT. I CONTACTED HONDA AND AN INSPECTOR IS BEING DISPATCHED TO MAKE SURE THE AIR BAG WAS REINSTALLED CORRECTLY. I WAS DRIVING DOWN TWO LANE AND MY RADIO STARTED CUTTING OFF AND ON AND MY STEERING STARTED TO LOCK UP AND BECAME HARD TO STEER I PULLED ON SIDE STREET AND PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND EACH SHARP TURN WITH STEERING WHEEL HAVING TO MAKE A HARD CUT IT WOULD DIE DOWN AND WHEN I FINALLY GOT CAR STRAIGHTEND OUT IT WAS DIFFUCULT TO GUIDE I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND IT SEEMED TO RUN OKAY AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN PARKING THE CAR AT MY HOME
TAKATA RECALL. I CONTINUE TO GET NOTICES FOR CAR I NO LONGER OWN. CAR WAS TRADED TO ECONOMY HONDA DURING PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. I HAVE CALL ECONOMY HONDA TO ASK WHY THEY DID NOT UPDATE RECORDS.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR INVOLVING MULTIPLE CARS ON A HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WHERE I WAS HIT SEVERAL TIMES, AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY CAR WAS TOTALED
DRIVING INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION AND THE RIGHT DRIVE AXLE BROKE. LUCKY ME AND MY CHILD WERE NOT INJURED. WE HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY RIGHT BEFORE THIS AND THANKFUL IT DIDN'T CAUSE A SERIOUS CRASH. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN TO TAKE A LEFT ONTO A BUSY ROAD. MY CAR REVVED AND THEN WE HEARD A LOUD BANG AND FELT LIKE SOMETHING DROPPED. THEN THE CAR WOULD RUN BUT WOULD NOT WORK (NO FWD,REVERSE, ETC)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA FIT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE STUDS ON THE WHEEL BREAKING. I HAD NEW TIRES PUT ON AND ONE BROKE, HAD NEW BREAK PADS PUT ON AND ANOTHER BROKE. THIS IS A BIG EXPENSE ADDED THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE MY PLACE TO FIX. IT IS A SAFETY TO ALL THAT OWN THESE VEHICLES BECAUSE WHILE DRIVING THE WHEEL CAN COME OFF. THIS NEEDS TO HAVE RECALL ON IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. EACH TIME ONE BREAKS IT COST ME 400.00 TO HAVE FIXED. THIS WAS NOT NEGELANCE OF THE ONE THAT WAS WORKING ON MY CAR. THIS WAS TWO DIFFERENT PLACES I HAD WORK DID TO MY CAR. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS ASAP. I FEEL I HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF A FAULT OF HONDA.
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET HONDA OF KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON TO REPAIR MY AIRBAGS SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2016. THEY KEEP PUTTING IT OFF AND NOW THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO IT UNTIL THE END OF MAY. THAT IS OVER AN 8 MONTH WAIT, HONDA IS THE ONE THAT TOLD ME I NEEDED THE SERVICE.
THERE ARE TWO RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS VEHICLE RELATED TO AIRBAGS, BUT HONDA SAYS THAT THE REMEDY IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT THE TIME ON A CITY STREET. THE CAR HAD SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. INTERIOR AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. VALUE OF CAR IS REDUCED DUE TO THIS DEFECT THAT CANNOT BE REMEDIED, AND I BELIEVE THAT HONDA SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR MY LOSS IN VALUE DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE NATURE OF THE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER NOTIFYING ME OF THE RECALL IN MARCH 2016. IT SAID THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE AND I WOULD RECEIVE A FOLLOW UP LETTER WHEN THEY BECAME AVAILABLE IN SUMMER 2016. I NEVER RECEIVED A FOLLOW UP LETTER AS OF FEBRUARY 2017.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED ON MARCH 2016 ABOUT THE TAKATA RECALL. I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP IN SEPTEMBER 2016 TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. AT THAT TIME, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO RESOLVE THE DEFECT. I HAVE YET TO BE CONTACTED ABOUT A FIX FOR THE DEFECT.
TAKATA RECALL: I CONTACTED BERKELEY HONDA TO GET THIS RECALL FIXED. A SALES PERSON CONTACTED ME TO TRY TO SELL ME A NEW CAR BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEVER RETURNED THE CALL. I CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY ORDERED THE PART BUT NEVER ADVISED ME IF THE PART WAS AVAILABLE. FURTHER CALLS NOT RETURNED. CONTACTED OAKLAND HONDA WHO SAID THEY HAD THE PARTS BUT REFUSED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT - SAID IT'S FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. I'M AN ELDERLY WOMAN AND NOT WELL. I CANNOT BE EXPECTED TO SHOW UP AND EITHER WAIT AND WAIT OR FIND OUT THAT THERE IS NO PART AVAILABLE WHEN I GET THERE. I CALLED SAN LEANDRO HONDA - LEFT MESSAGES BUT THEY NEVER RETURN THE CALL. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TAKE CARE OF THIS! IT'S NOT GOOD SERVICE AT ALL AND NOT REALISTIC TO HAVE ME NEVER HAVE A PASSENGER WHILE I'M WAITING FOR THIS TO BE RESOLVED.
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR IS DEAD AND THE REPAIR COST IS $500+. CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE REGARDING THE DRIVER'S FRONT AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL IN FEBRUARY OF 2016. THE LETTER STATED THAT PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE RECALL IN THE SUMMER OF 2016. IT HAS BEEN 9 MONTHS, AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY IN A TIMELY MANNER.
ON 11-8-16 I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON A STREET. JUST BEFORE I WAS COMING UP TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT, I NOTICE THE RADIO GOING IN AND OUT AND THEN THE STEERING WHEEL GETTING STIFF. I WENT THROUGH THE LIGHT ONTO A HIGHWAY AND PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I CALLED A FRIEND, WHO HELPED ME OUT. AFTER RESTARTING CAR IT DID NOT REOCCUR BUT STILL HAVE BIG CONCERNS.
