The van completely shuts down no matter where I am. When I try to turn it back on the green key light DOES NOT appear on the dash. The van will still crank but will not turn over. Until the green key light appears on the left side of the dash. I have to sit anywhere from 5 minutes up until 8 hours one day. It does this 3 to 4 times a day. The only warning I get is the green key will start flashing on the dash that's when I know it has shut down. I feel like it has something to do with the immobilizer. Because of the green key. I have changed my key fob battery , regular battery, checked all the fuses. This is very dangerous, it has left my family and myself in some deadly positions. Dar and raining it has shut off on the highway with barely any shoulder to pull off on. Cars and trucks driving past at 60 to 70 miles per hour in the dark and rain a few times we were almost hit. There is nothing I can do but sit and wait for the green key to appear then I know we are in safe zone again until u expectantly it decides to do it again. This is so frustrating leaving for work or appointments I have no clue what time to leave because the shut down is random. I have searched many videos on how to disengage the immobilizer or these click your key 6 times forwards and backwards press the lock and unlock on key fob. NOTHING HAS WORKED. When I purchased the vehicle he gave me all 3 keys I'm assuming valet and 2 main keys and the key fob. Please anybody know anything please help me and my family have came very close to death numerous occasions. I don't know what else to do. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 80,933.

The contact received recall notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V501000(Air Bags) and 15V320000(Air Bags) and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list because he no longer owns the vehicle. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted.
SRS light stays on. According to my mechanic, it is a SRS fault 1-1 which is a resistance issue at assembly, not the coil.
I was involved in a traffic collision on December 15, 2023. The California DMV requires a brake and light inspection for a salvage retention reregistration of my car. After going to two brake and light shops they will not perform a brake and light inspection due to a recall P30 04V-176. I went to a Honda dealer to get the recall fixed and they said they cannot or will not perform the recall as it is not needed. Please let me know what I can do to fix this issue as I don’t see what and why the brake and light inspections cannot be done and I need them completed.
Drivers side, side-curtain airbag spontaneously deployed.
I've noticed that while driving the vehicle maintains speed/accelerate (without gas pedal pressed, and with cruise control off). I have to constantly fight the vehicle's constant acceleration with brakes. While idling, it keeps going to high RPM and then reduce and then high RPM.
The contact owns a 2002 Honda Odyssey equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: Defender XT, Tire Size: 225/60R16, DOT Number: AP3V047X. The contact stated while replacing the driver's and passenger's side front tires, the contact noticed chunks of tread detaching from the tires. The tire retailer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was caused by driving on gravel roads. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the tire retailer. The tire failure mileage was 59,000. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 249,000.

The emission switch, check engine, and air bag sensor lights were illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the recall was serviced, and the passenger’s side frontal air bag inflator was replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 274,000.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The transmission How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When I was on the highway the car lost power and I was almost rear-ended by a car when I was stopped on the freeway on my way to the doctor. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I am a recent buyer and do not have much information about previous problems with this vehicle. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, when it broke down, I just called the tow truck and they transported it to a mechanic and the mechanic put the machine in to find out what the fault was, and he told me and showed me that the fault was in the transmission and the cost would be $1800 to $2000 dollars or so to fix it. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, before the breakdown the car turned on a light that I didn't recognize but I kept going because I was on the freeway and a few meters ahead the accelerator didn't respond, so I had to pull off the road to call the tow truck. Personal, I don't have any documents to prove this because logically I don't have $2000 dollars to fix the transmission. When I was with the mechanic and he checked the car he just showed me and said what it meant. the light that came on the dashboard. Also, yesterday I received this paper and it said that if the car shows up with more faults to come in with the code that comes on the document. I found it strange to receive it because according to me when I bought the car, everything was in good condition and now the transmission is not working, apart from the air bag. For these reasons I would like to know how I can take the car to them, if it does not walk and to get it to them, I have to take the tow truck.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 190,000.
06/04/2021 2002 Honda Odyssey - Aftermarket Fuel Pump Lock Ring - Multiple Failures Safety Issue = Gasoline leaking out of the tank onto the ground. Starting in 2019, three aftermarket fuel pump lock rings have failed on one 2002 Honda Odyssey. The lock rings were all made of plastic. The OEM Honda lock ring was also made of plastic and after 17 years did not fail, but was replaced when a new fuel pump was installed. A DELPHI model FG0956 fuel pump had two lock ring failures. The third lock ring failure was on a AIRTEX model E8642M fuel pump. The torque spec per Honda for the fuel pump lock ring is a hefty 69 FT LBS or 93 NM. An SK click type torque wrench model 73100 was used on the installs, as was a fuel tank lock ring tool LISLE model 63000. All the lock rings were at first hand tightened to prevent cross threading before using the torque wrench. The SK torque wrench used has never been known to over torque bolts. The third lock ring for AIRTEX was torqued to about 60 FT LBS due to the prior failures. No warning lights or messages appeared when the lock ring fails. All failed within one year of install. Failure detected by noticing the smell of gasoline, especially outside the vehicle and sometimes inside the vehicle. Each of the failed lock rings split, and then gasoline starts leaking out of the top of the tank at the fuel pump and onto the ground. The fuel pump will start to rise above the tank due to it being spring loaded and the lock ring failing. The problem is most noticeable after filling the fuel tank, and when the vehicle is exposed to high outside air temperatures. If you look under the vehicle, a puddle of gasoline on the ground is sometimes visible just below the fuel pump. If the failure is not yet severe enough, you will not see a puddle but may still smell gasoline. A local auto parts store recommended purchasing an OEM Honda lock ring due to the aftermarket failures and the hefty Honda torque spec of 69 FT LBS on a plastic ring.

The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated along with a warning message which stated that the driver’s and passenger’s side air bags need to be repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V501000 (Air Bags) as the cause for the failure. The Vin was not included in the recall. The contact also stated that the manual transmission would jump out of gear and would not accelerate out of second gear until she manually shifted the vehicle to park and then back to drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump and fluids needing to be replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,555.
SRS LIGHT IS REMAINING ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD ALL THE SAFETY BAG RECALLS CORRECTED. THE SRS LIGHT JUST CAME ON AND REMAINS ON.
MY VEHICLE TELLS ME THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ISNT WORKING THEN IT TURNS OFF SO SOMETHING ELECTRONICLY IS MESSED UP.
RECALL IS NOT BEING PERFORMED
A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AS ME AND MY 2 TODDLER SONS WERE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAD WHAT SEEMED A POWER SURGE AND TAILLIGHTS WENT OUT AND POWER WENT LOW RADIO STOPPED AND DOORS UNLOCKED. LUCKILY WE WERE CLOSE TO HOME I GOT NEW FUSE FOR LIGHTS RADIO SAID ERROR BUT MUSIC DIDN'T MATTER THE NEXT DAY I HAD TO JUMP IT TO GOT WORK BUT SEEMED OK. THE NEXT FEW WEEKS I DEALT WITH DOORS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. AND ONE MORNING CAME OUT BOTH DOORS WERE OPEN.I DIDN'T LET BOYS RIDE AFTER PROBLEMS ESCALATED ONE DAY DOORS STOPPED AND GOT STUCK IN MIDDLE WHEN THEY WERE GETTING OUT. IT I REPLACED SOME FUSES AND EVERYTHING SEEMED OK BUT MOST DAYS BATTERY FELT WORK WHEN STARTING. I WENT TO GET BOYS AND I'M GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE THEM WHEN IT DIED IN MIDDLE OF ROAD SMOKING I GOT IT IN PARKING LOT. CALLED FATHER AND WE TOOK BATTERY OUT TO GO GET A NEW ONE. THE BATTERY WAS SWOLLEN WATER AND ACID SPITTING OUT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO BURST. NEW BATTERY INSTALLED AND DROVE IT MAYBE 5 MIN BACK HOME. THOUGHT WELL IT WAS BATTERY WHOLE TIME. WENT INSIDE TO OPEN EASTER THINGS WITH BOYS I WALKED OUTSIDE HOUR LATER AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL FIRE SMELL BAD THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF HOOD NOT ALOFT BUT BATTERY WAS DEAD. IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING KEEPS PUSHING POWER THROUGH THE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS CAUSING THEM TO SHORT. IF YOU LOOK UP ON INTERNET DEAD BATTERY 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY NOTHING BUT STORY'S OF POWER SURGES MAKING VEHICLES LOOSE POWER BURN OUT THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. WHAT IF MY BOYS AND I HAD LOST POWER ON HIGHWAY. OR DOOR DECIDED TO OPEN I DON'T KNOW THE PROBLEM BUT EVERY STORY TALKS OF IT. KIDS LIVES IN THESE VEHICLES ARE IN DANGER. PLEASE HELP.I SAY IT COULD EASILY BE ACCIDENTS I WAS JUST SMART ENOUGH TO AVOID THEM BY DISCONNECTING PAYING ATTENTION AND BE PREPARED. AFTER SPENDING MONEY TO GET CAR FIX. FOUND OUT THERE ARE AT LEAST 60 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. I ONLY GOTTEN 7 OR 8 RECALL LETTER FROM HONDA. ACCORD8NG TO THE MECHANIC FRIEND, I COULD HAVE GOTTEN A NEW CAR AFTER ALL THE REPAIRS FROM THE RECALL. CALL HONDA ON THIS AND THEY SAID IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE YOU TAKE THE CAR FOR RECALL REPAIR. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MISSING RECALL LETTERS, EVEN IF I NEVER RECEIVE THEM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 50 MPH WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND SLOW DOWN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED WITH MAXIMUM PRESSURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION AND WAS PROVIDED A REPAIR ESTIMATE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITHIN THIS COUPLE THIS PAST WEEK AND THE INDIVIDUAL THAT I PURCHASED GARY/MYONG BREWER, WHO IS THE ORIGINAL OWNERS SINCE WHICH THIS VEHICLE IS NEW TOLD ME THAT ALL OF THE BAG ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE IS ALL FIXED. WHAT SHOULD I SHOULD BE DONE?
OVER LAST 3 WEEKS HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER AND WAS NOT GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. HAVE CALLED TWICE INCLUDING THE SERVICE MANAGER BUT NO RETURN CALLS, NO RESPONSE..
TAKATA RECALL THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ARE NOT PROVIDING A WAY TO TOW MY VEHICLE AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER CAR EVEN THOUGH THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR IS NEXT TUESDAY. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING MY CAR.
GOOD AFTERNOON. MY WIFE HAS A 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH A RECALL NOTICE FOR A PCM. MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER IS P48, NHTSA RECALL NUMBER IS 04V-176. THE VEHICLE VIN IS [XXX]. THE ISSUE IS REGARDING A PCM RECALL FOR 2002 ODYSSEY WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION, WHICH MY WIFE?S CAR DOES NOT HAVE. HER CAR HAS THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS TAKEN IS WEST BROAD HONDA IN RICHMOND VIRGINIA. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT IT IS NOT A RECALL, IT IS A SERVICE BULLETIN, SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THE CASE MANAGER AT HONDA AGREED AS WELL THAT IT IS A SERVICE BULLETIN AND DOES NOT PERTAIN TO MY CAR. I TALKED TO THE CASE MANAGER LAST ON MONDAY APRIL 29, AND DESPITE LEAVING MESSAGES SINCE THEN FOR HER TO CALL ME WITH A STATUS UPDATE, I HAVE HEARD NOTHING TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY SUBMITTED A ?FIXED BY INSPECTION? REPORT TO HONDA ON MONDAY, BUT THERE IS STILL A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS THE PROBLEM: I AM IN THE MILITARY, AND I HAVE TO DROP THIS CAR OFF NEXT WEEK FOR SHIPMENT TO MY NEXT DUTY STATION IN ALASKA. HOWEVER, THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT A VEHICLE WITH AN OPEN RECALL. IT IS REQUIRED THAT I PROVIDE PROOF THAT THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL, AND I CANNOT DO THAT BECAUSE OF THIS. I TRULY HAVE NO OTHER RECOURSE, AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ON MY END TO FIX THIS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V182000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. HOLLER HONDA (2211 N SEMORAN BLVD, ORLANDO, FL 32807) CONFIRMED PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
3RD GEAR HAS COMPLETELY WORN OUT, IT SLIPS WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN OPENED AND 3RD GEAR CLUTCH PACK IS COMPLETELY WORN OUT AND SPRING IS WARPED AND WAS STUCK IN 3RD CLUTCH DRUM. TRANSMISSION FAILURE
REMOVAL OF THE IGNITION KEY WHEN THE GEAR SELECTOR OF THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY WHEN ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE. THIS SYMPTOM IS IDENTICAL TO RECALL 16V344000 WHICH MY HONDA DEALER SAYS APPLIES ONLY TO MODEL YEARS 2003 AND 2004. HOWEVER THE RECALL NOTICE SAYS IT APPLIES TO VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AS EARLY AS NOVEMBER 2001. MY VAN WAS MANUFACTURED IN 11/01. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE.
THIS COMPLAINT IS A CORRECTION TO COMPLAINT 11375900 WHICH REFERENCED AN INCORRECT RECALL NUMBER. REMOVAL OF THE IGNITION KEY WHEN THE GEAR SELECTOR IS NOT IN PARK ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY WHEN ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. THIS SYMPTOM IS IDENTICAL TO RECALL 12V573000 WHICH MY HONDA DEALER SAYS APPLIES ONLY TO MODEL YEARS 2003 AND 2004. HOWEVER THE RECALL NOTICE SAYS IT COULD APPLY TO VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AS EARLY AS NOVEMBER 2001. MY VAN WAS MANUFACTURED IN 11/01.
THE AIRBAGS ON MY HONDA WERE RECALLED AND WE HAD THEM REPLACED AT NANUET HONDA WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR. THINKING AFTER WE HAD THEM REPLACED THAT THEY WOULD ACTUALLY WORK IF WE GOT INTO AND ACCIDENT. THE HONDA HIT A DEER ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS DESTROYED AND THE AIRBAGS NEVER WENT OFF. PLEASE SEE PICTURES BELOW. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS CAR DUE TO THE SAFETY FEATURES AND NOT HAVING THEM WORK IS UNACCEPTABLE. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE WILL HAVE THERE FAMILIES IN THE CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THE MALFUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG BECAUSE MY AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED WITH THE RECALL AND DID NOT WORK. WE TRADED THIS VEHICLE IN 2006 FOR ANOTHER MODEL -BUT WE STILL GET CALLS AND LETTERS ABOUT THIS RECALL. WE HAVE NOT OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2006, BUT WE STILL GET CALLS AND LETTERS. WE HAVE REPORTED IT SEVERAL TIMES VIA THE MAIL IN CARDS, WE HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, WE HAVE CALLED NHTSA, WE HAVE CALLED DMV, BUT APPARENTLY HONDA'S FILES ARE NOT BEING UPDATED AND THEY KEEP OVER-WRITING CORRECTIONS EVERYWHERE ELSE. PLEASE REMOVE US FROM THE LIST OF AFFECTED OWNERS. WE DO NOT OWN THIS VEHICLE
GOT A LETTER SAYING THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH THE AIRBAGS BUT I DO NOT OWN THAT CAR ANYMORE. THAT CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND IS GONE NOW.
SPORADICALLY WHILE DRIVING, INSTRUMENT LIGHTS ALL COME AND SOON AFTER CAR WILL JUST STOP RUNNING, SOMETIMES LIGHTS WILL JUST STAY ON. SO FAR ITS AT LOW SPEEDS, ON TAKE OFF OR COMING TO A STOP. IF I LET THE CAR SIT A FEW MINUTES I CAN RESTART IT.THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK IT TO HONDA AND COULDN'T FIND PROBLEM. FROM GOING ON LINE I SEE THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. AFTER PEOPLES MANY REPLACEMENT PARTS IT WAS FINALLY ISOLATED MOSTLY TO REPLACEMENT OF A PART IN THE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. SOME WERE A FRACTURE IN ALTERNATOR BRACKET, OR OEM DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY (IGNITER SWITCH MODULE) IF IT HAS ONE OR A SENSOR IF NOT A DISTRIBUTOR. ALL REPAIRS WERE DONE ON VARIOUS YEARS AND MODELS OF HONDA'S BUT ALL HAVING IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS.

IF I TURN OFF MY CAR, WHILE LEAVING THE SHIFT POSITION OUT OF PARK ( SUCH AS IN R, REVERSE) I CAN THEN REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES AS THE CAR WILL ROLL IF THE PARKING BRAKE HAS ALSO NOT BEEN APPLIED.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. ON APPROXIMATELY 8/16 OR 8/17/2017, THE CLOCK DISPLAYED ON THE NAVIGATION SCREEN BECAME STUCK AT "0:00". I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THIS AFFECTS THE ACTUAL NAVIGATION FUNCTION, GPS SYSTEM, OR OTHER ELECTRICAL (OR NON-ELECTRICAL) COMPONENTS. I BELIEVE THE DVD-BASED NAVIGATION SYSTEM HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE WAS MANUFACTURED BY ALPINE FOR HONDA (AND MANY OTHER AUTO MANUFACTURERS). I HAVE UPDATED MY MAP/SOFTWARE DVD TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2002. I HAVE TURNED THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES, REMOVED THE SOFTWARE/MAPS DVD AND REINSERTED IT, AND PERFORMED MANY OTHER ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, ALL WITHOUT SUCCESS.
TREAD SEPARATION AND/OR BROKEN RADIAL BELTS. 3 TIRES WERE AFFECTED OUT OF THE ORIGINAL SET OF 4. SET WAS PURCHASED DEC 2015. FIRST TIRE FAILED AT 23K MILES IN AUG 2017 AT HIGHWAY SPEED DURING VACATION. SECOND TIRE FAILED AT 28K MILES IN DEC 2017 IN LOCAL TRAFFIC. THIRD TIRE FAILED AT 28K MILES IN JAN 2018 IN LOCAL TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE AIR BAG AND TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 187,000.
I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS . HAD THE TRANSMISSION FIXED TWICE IN THIS VAN TWICE. AND NOW CAR IS JERKING AND MECHANICS SAY IT'S THE FUEL PUMPL I HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VAN NOT OPERATING BEEN TAKING IT TO MECHANICS THEY TELL ME IT'S THE TRANSMISSION I GET A USED ONE PUT IN AND NOW VAN JERKS AND STALLS MECHANICS FIX SENSOR IT DOESN'T WORK CHANGE FUEL PUMP THIS VAN HA BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND AFTER RESEARCHING I FIND OUT THERE HAVE BEEN TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THESE CARS AND DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION BUT A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON 2002 ODYSSEY'S.I SPENT ALL KINDS OF MONEY ON TRYING TO GET THIS VAN FIXED. FOR THE LAST 7-8 MONTHS. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS SO IT TOOK IT TO TWO MECHANICS THEY TOLD ME FIRST IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION I HAD A USED TRANSMISSION PUT IN THAT HAD 60;000 MILES ON IT THE SECOND INCIDENT DRIVING THE VAN ON HIGHWAY 60MPH THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND STALLING. FINALLY HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC THEY COULDN'T FIX IT AND SENT IT TO A DEALER . THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. APOX DATE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS JULY 2017

WHEN WE GO DOWN SOUTH TO FLORIDA THEN THE SRS LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON UNTIL WE GET INTO LESS HUMID WEATHER. WE ARE PLANNING ON MOVING BACK DOWN SOUTH AND WE ARE WORRIED THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT FIXED RIGHT. ALSO THE PASSENGER HEADLAMP GOES OUT TWICE AS FAST AS THE DRIVERS SIDE. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP TWICE BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE THE DRIVERS SIDE.
TAKATA RECALL: I BOUGHT A USED 2002 ODESSEY WITH 200,000 MILES ON IT. AND AFTER I GOT IT HOME I NOTICED THE SRS LIGHT BEING ON. I THOUGHT IT IS A SIMPLE LOOSE CONNECTION. BUT AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE, IT SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WHICH NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION AND FIXING.

DRIVING ON HIGHWAY PULLED OVER A CRYSTAL LIKE SUBSTANCE ON BACK WINDOW (LIQUID) AND IN FRONT OF CAR PULLED OVER IT WAS COMING OUT UNDERNEATH MY CAR HAD TO GET CAR TOWED DYLAN SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE VEHICLES WITH THE TRANSMISSION TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN WORKED ON BEFORE FIRST I.CALLED DEALER BEFORE GETTING IT TOWED .GOT IT TOWED TO DEALER APPROX 2 DAYS AFTER THE INCIDENT ONCE I GOT TO MY HOME THAT'S WHEN THEY CAME AND TOWED IT AND END RESULTS WAS TRANSMISSION.

TRANSMISSION SLIPS ON 2ND TO 3RD GEAR OR DISENGAGES ALTOGETHER UPON ACCELERATION WHICH IS HAPPENING ON A MORE FREQUENT BASIS LATELY. TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGES ARE MADE EVERY 30K MILES BY DEALER. OIL JET RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED UPON TSB NOTIFICATION, ADDED OIL COOLER, CLEANED AND/OR REPLACED FILTER AND SOLENOIDS JUST TO PROLONG THE INEVITABLE TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
THE LIGHTING IS ALWAYS OPEN WHICH INDICATES AIRBAGS
TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CIRCUIT P0740 AND P0430 - NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON AND DIAGNOSED ERROR CODES P0740. TRANSMISSION FAILS TO ENGAGE, SLIPS WITH NO DRIVE POWER. PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORST. REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION AS PER DEALER AT COST OF $5,900. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS AFFECTED SEVERAL 100,000S OF 2002 TO 2004 HONDA ODYSSEY VANS AND OTHER HONDA MODELS WITH SAME TRANSMISSION. HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH THESE MODELS AND STILL HAS DONE NOTHING TO REPAIR THEM. HONDA ODYSSEY TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS WIDELY KNOWN AND DISCUSSED AT LENGTH ON ONLINE HONDA FORUMS AND AT DEALERSHIPS, TO A POINT WHERE NOBODY IS WILLING TO BUY THESE USED VEHICLES AT BLUEBOOK MARKET VALUE. THE COST ASSOCIATED WITH A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT IS $5900, IN EXCESS OF CURRENT VEHICLE MARKET VALUE. ON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, HONDA HAS AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR ODYSSEY TRANSMISSIONS UP TO MODEL YEAR 2001. THIS HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE YEAR 2003, WHEN THE 2002 HONDA ODYSSEY WAS RELATIVELY NEW, HENCE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IN 2001 AND 2002 MODEL YEAR ARE SAME. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE HONDA KNEW OF THIS TRANSMISSION DESIGN PROBLEM WHICH CONTINUES PAST MODEL YEAR 2001. THEY USED THE SAME TRANSMISSION TILL MODEL YEAR 2004. I WOULD LIKE HONDA TO RECALL ODYSSEY TRANSMISSIONS FROM 2002 TO 2004 AS WELL AND REPAIR THEM UNDER WARRANTY. SEVERAL OTHER HONDA VEHICLES MODELS ARE ALSO IMPACTED BY THIS POOR TRANSMISSION DESIGN. THEN WHY HAS HONDA NOT DONE ANYTHING TO HELP ITS CUSTOMERS. I WOULD LIKE NHTSA INVESTIGATE FURTHER LEVERAGING ON THE 2001 HONDA ODYSSEY RECALL TO EXPEDITE A RESOLUTION FORCING HONDA TO RECALL FOR REPAIRS. THANK YOU.
THE STEERING WHEEL ON OUR VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT, AND STAYED. WHEN WE ACCELERATE OR THE TRANSMISSION UP-SHIFTS, SUDDENT STEERING WHEEL ON OUR VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO GO STRAIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENS BUT TURNING THE WHEEL LEFT HAS NO EFFECT UNTIL THE VEHICLE SPEED EVENS OUT. THERE IS ALSO SOMETHING IN THE FRONT END THAT IS LOOSE AND IS VERY NOTICEABLE ON ROUGH ROADS OR ENTERING/EXITING PARKING LOTS.
