TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNED A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. UPON ENTERING ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH FORCE. THE DRIVER WAS UNCONSCIOUS WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO A HOSPITAL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES. ONE OF THE CHILD PASSENGER'S TEETH WAS KNOCKED OUT FROM THE IMPACT, AND A SECOND CHILD RECEIVED STITCHES DUE TO CUTS AND ABRASIONS TO THE EYES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD AND DESTROYED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V045000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER NOTIFIED AFTER THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE RPMS INCREASED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS SLIPPERY AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,370.
LATER ON AFTER A MINOR IMPACT, FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS LOCKED AND SRS BECAME ILLUMINATED. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE IMPACT. THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK DURING THE IMPACT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY LATER EITHER, BUT THE SEATBELTS LOCKED. ALSO, THERE IS A PICTURE OF THE DAMAGE AT THE SCENE AND ONE TAKEN WELL AFTERWARD. THE BELTS LOCKED AND LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT THE SAME TIME I OBSERVED THAT THE GAP HAD FORMED IN THE BUMPER.

SRS LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF.
1.STARTING IN EARLY JULY 2016, MY HONDA ODYSSEY BEGAN RANDOMLY ACCELERATING ON THIS OWN, WITHOUT A HUMAN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. WHILE IN DRIVE, THE CAR ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. 2.WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE TO PRESS EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BRAKE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THEN, WHEN I PLACE THE CAR IN PARK, THE RPM INCREASES TO BETWEEN 5,OOO AND 7,000. AGAIN, THIS IS WITHOUT A HUMAN DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. 3.THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING IS TURNED ON, AND IT FEELS LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM IS TAKING OVER EVEN THOUGH IT'S TURNED ON. 4.THIS ISSUE DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED ON. IT SOMETIMES TAKES A RANDOM AMOUNT OF TIME TO MANIFEST ITSELF WHILE THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. 5.I'VE FACED THIS ISSUE AT LEAST 15 TO 20 TIMES OVER THE PAST 2 MONTHS. 6.OBVIOUSLY, THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND MAY RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER MOTORISTS. AND THEREFORE, IT MUST BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY. THE HONDA DEALER SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, BUT ONLY CHECKED THE VEHICLES CPU. THIS IS INSUFFICIENT BECAUSE, AS INDICATED ABOVE, THE CPU WILL NOT REGISTER AN ISSUE IN IDLE MODE OR WHEN THE PROBLEM ISN'T ACTUALLY HAPPENING.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V045000 (AIR BAGS) AND 16V344000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
CAN'T ACCELERATE FROM 20 MPH TO 30 MPH. ONLY HAS 104,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHO SAID TRANSMISSION FAILED AND IT WOULD COST OVER $4,000 TO FIX IT. THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG FROM THE MANUFACTURER. HONDA SHOULD PAY FOR IT. SEE ATTACHED DIAGNOSTIC INVOICE FROM THE DEALER.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE FOR NHTSA RECALL 16V-344 IN JUNE OF 2016. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT WAIKEM HONDA IN MASSILLON OHIO TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE. THIS APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR THE MORNING OF JULY 9TH, 2016. AFTER I MADE THE 40 + MILE DRIVE TO WAIKEM, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT ORDER THE PART TO DO THE WORK. I WAS OFFERED NO APOLOGY, ACCOMMODATION, OR REASONABLE SOLUTION. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE SERVICE SUPERVISOR, I WAS QUITE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT I WAS SPEAKING WITH HIM ALREADY. DISGUSTED WITH THEIR COMPLETE LACK OF COMPETENCE OR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I USED THEIR PHONE TO CALL PARK HONDA IN AKRON. I LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THEY GOT ALL OF MY INFORMATION AND TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT HELP ME OUT THAT DAY, BUT WOULD GET THE PART IN, AND THEN CALL ME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. FIVE MONTHS LATER I HAVE NOT HEARD A THING FROM EITHER HONDA DEALER. I HAVE ATTACHED A SCREEN SHOT FROM THE SERVICE APPOINTMENT REMINDER FROM WAIKEM HONDA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED, DIAGNOSED, OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER BEING BROUGHT IN ALREADY FOR THE RECALL

THIRD RECALL NOTICE ALREADY TOOK THIS VAN TO TWO DEALERS BEFORE THIS THIRD RECALL ARRIVED, THEY LIED ABOUT INSTALLING AIRBAGS! HONDA ENDANGERS US STILL AND YOU ARE IGNORING IT. ...AND YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT IS IGNORING ANY OF US REPORTING TAKATA AIRBAG/HONDA ABUSES! THIS AIRBAG RECALL HAS BEEN TOTALLY MISMANAGED. THEY HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 93 DAYS. ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2016 THEY CALL ME TO TELL ME TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE AND THEY ARE NOT COMPLETING ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO CURRENT OUTSTANDING RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. THE ABOVE MENTIONED RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE WERE NEVER ADDRESSED BY ANY HONDA SERVICE LOCATION.

TAKATA RECALL. AS I WAS REACHED A STOP ZONE IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL PEDESTRIAN CROSSING ON 4/11/16, I HEARD A LOUD BOOM LIKE AN EXPLOSION ON MY MINIVAN. THE SOUND WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AND MADE MY EARS HURT AND I WAS DISORIENTED. I LOOKED AROUND THRU THE WINDOW AND REAR VIEW MIRRORS BUT I DIDN'T SEE ANYONE HITTING OR ANY TYPE OF COLLISION WITH ANY OBJECT OR ERWIN. I THEN FELT FABRIC TOUCHING MY LEFT ARM AND SAW THE SIDE AIRBAGS HAD DEPLOYED ON HEIR OWN. BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE SIDE AIRBAGS WERE OUT OF THE SEAT AND DEPLETED . MY 2 YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE SECOND ROW SEAT BEHIND ME AND MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING ON THE SECOND ROW SEAT BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE. THEY WERE SCARED AND I DROVE THE VAN TO MY HOUSE ABOUT 1.5 BLOCKS AWAY. I HAVE A CONTINUOS RINGING IN MY LEFT EAR SINCE THAT DAY. MY PRIMARY MD HAS REFERRED ME TO AUDIOLOGY SPECIALIST. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP AT THE PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY IN FRONT OF SILVERWING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN AREY DR. IN SAN DIEGO CA. I HAVE NOT MOVED THE CAR FROM MY HOME DRIVEWAY AFRAID THAT THE FRONT AIRBAGS COULD DEPLOY THE SAME WAY. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY WANT TO TOE THE CAR TO A DEALER TOMORROW 4/15/16 TO PLACE THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND EVALUATE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND HOW TO CORRECT IT.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE CHECK, THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND MOTOR MOUNT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
WE COULD HAVE DIED YESTERDAY 02-01-2016.THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO A WILD VIOLENT DOWNSHIFT AS WE WE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. IN THE VEHICLE WERE MY WIFE WHOM IS 38 WEEKS PREGNANT, MY 5 SONS AGES 12 (AUTISIM),AGE 5,AGE 4 (ADHA),AGE 3 (AUTISIM),AND AGE 2. I LUCKILY AVOIDED BEING T-BONED DUE TO THE GRACE OF GOD. WE MADE IT HOME EVENTUALLY AND IT FAILED TO GO INTO REVERSE AND WHEN IT DID IT WAS A VERY HARD ENGAGE AND A VERY AWFUL SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE DIPSTICK TUBE WHEN I GOT IT PARKED. WHAT I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND IS THAT THESE VERY RICH OWNERS MAKING BILLIONS THRROUGH HONDA AND SEEM TO HAVE NO CARE FOR ANYONE. I CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER FAMILY VEHICLE. BUT THE SAD OFFENSE IS HONDA CARES FOR NO ONE . IT WILL TAKE AN ABSOLUTE TRAGIC DEATH DEALING WITH THESE VERY CHEAP TRANSMISSIONS.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V320000 (AIR BAGS), 15V045000 (AIR BAGS), 4V353000 (AIR BAGS), AND 12V573000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING BADLY AT UNDER 140,000 MILES. I AM ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE ALWAYS USED DEALER AS THE MECHANIC AND FOR RECALLS OR SERVICES. I HAD HIGHER EXPECTATIONS FROM HONDA CARS, TO GO LONGER. THE PRICE THEY QUOTED ME FOR REPAIR WAS OVER 5000$ JUST FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE WAS POOR AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED! THEY EVEN CHARGED ME 115$ JUST TO TELL ME MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING (WHICH I ALREADY KNEW)! THE CAR STARTED SLIPPING ON A MONDAY NIGHT. IT WAS LATE. I USED THE CAR TO DRIVE MY SON TO SCHOOL AT 7:30 IN THE AM ( 1.5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE) AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR AFTER STOPPING TO LET MY SON OUT. I WAS BLOCKING THE SCHOOL DRIVE AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO HONDA. IT WAS CLEARLY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE DEALER SERVICE WAS NOT GREAT, EVEN AFTER GOING THERE AND BUYING MY CAR THERE ALL THESE YEARS. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION AND I FEEL THAT IT WAS NOT PROPERLY RESOLVED!
2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH LESS THAN 127,000. *SMD
VEHICLE WENT IDLE WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AND HAVE ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS. THE MILEAGE READING IS 130,000 AND THE CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED IN A HONDA DEALERSHIP.
THE SRS LIGHT IN MY VEHICLE IS COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. HONDA DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A SWITCH IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT. PAGE 53 OF MY VEHICLE OWNERS MANUAL CLEARLY STATES THE FOLLOWING: "HONDA PROVIDES A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON SEAT BELTS. HONDA WILL REPAIR OR REPLACE ANY SEAT BELT COMPONENT THAT FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY DURING NORMAL USE." AS SUCH, THE AFOREMENTIONED SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH IS A COMPONENT OF THE SEAT BELT. HOWEVER, HONDA REFUSES TO COVER REPAIR TO MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, AS ACCORDING TO MY MANUAL, AN SRS INDICATOR LIGHT MAY CAUSE CERTAIN AIRBAGS NOT TO DEPLOY DURING A COLLISION. SUCH AN EVENT WOULD SURELY CAUSE CLEARLY PREVENTABLE BODILY HARM IF THEY WOULD JUST HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. I'M CALLING ON THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE, AS I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS IN ONLINE FORUMS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, WITH MIXED RESULTS FROM HONDA.
A METAL BRACKET RIVETING THE DRIVER SEAT BOTTOM TO THE POWER SEAT STRUCTURE HAS TORN THROUGH DUE TO METAL FATIGUE. THIS ALLOWS THE WHOLE DRIVE SEAT TO MOVE FREELY WITHIN A FEW INCHES OF TRAVEL DURING ACCELERATION AND TURNING.

ON OCTOBER 5, 2015 I WAS HIT BY A VEHICLE AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TO GET HOME. I WAS DRIVING AT AT THE SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPH. MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND EXPLODED. MY FRONT PASSENGER AND I WERE HURT AS A RESULT OF THE EXPLOSION FOR A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE ACCIDENT. MY BREATHING COMPLICATIONS WERE FROM THE POWDER IN THE AIR BAGS THAT EXPLODED IN MY FACE. MY FRONT PASSENGER HAD A FRACTURED TO THE AREA THE AIR BAG EXPLODED ALONE WITH THE POWDER THAT WAS INHALED FROM THE AIR BAGS.

EVERY TIME I GO TO CLOSE THE DOORS BY PULLING THE HANDLE WHETHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE, THEY DON'T CLOSE. I WAS PARKED IN A FLAT PAVED DRIVEWAY WITH UNLEASHED DOGS IN THE YARD. I DIDN'T REALIZE THEY WERE UNLEASHED BY THEY STARTED RUNNING TOWARD THE CAR AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT CLOSE!!! MY 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM AS HER SAFETY AND MY 8 YEAR OLD SONS SAFETY IS BEING COMPROMISED. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MANY ODYSSEY OWNERS AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER. AT THIS POINT WHEN THE DOORS FINALLY CLOSE THEY ARE NOT CLOSING SMOOTHLY ON THE RAIL. THE PAINT AND SIDE BAR HAVE LITERALLY COME OFF AND ARE NOW BEING HELD UP BY DUCT TAPE. I'M SO DISGUSTED!! I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR A REPAIR ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THE ONLY WAY I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CLOSED THE DOORS IS BY HITTING THE INSIDE BUTTON BUT EVEN THAT NEEDS TO BE PRESSED NEARLY 5-6 TIMES BEFORE IT CLOSES FULLY. I HAVE TRIED TO MANUALLY CLOSE THE DOORS BUT THEY ARE SO HEAVY I JUST DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH.
AUTOMATIC DOOR ON DRIVERS SIDE DOES NOT LATCH FULLY AND WILL COME OPEN WHEN DRIVING.

MANSFIELD MOTOR GROUP OF MANSFIELD , OHIO REPLACED A SRS UNIT ON MY HONDA THAT WAS DONE SO THAT HONDA CORP. COULD COLLECT INFORMATION OFF OF THIS UNIT . WHEN THEY BROUGHT THIS UNIT ON LINE , THERE WAS WAS A PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG / SENSOR ALERT AND THEY WASN'T ABLE TO CLEAR THIS INDICATION . THEY DID SOME TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURES TO NO AVAIL . I WAS INFORMED OF THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SENSOR REPLACEMENT WOULD COST ME APP. $ 1000..00 , IN WHICH I REFUSED AND TOLD THEM TO PUT BACK THE OLD UNIT THAT HAD NO ISSUES CONCERNING THE THAT OR ANY OTHER SENSOR . THIS RECALL # 15-026 , AFTER CALLING HONDA , WAS TO GAIN INFORMATION FROM AN SRS RECALL #15-013 THAT HAS NEVER BEEN INSTALLED , OR THIS IS WHAT I WAS LED TO BELIEVE , WHICH MMG HONDA TOLD ME THAT HONDA HAD NOT FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM AS YET . I RECIEVED THE RECALL LETTER FROM HONDA IN MARCH OF 2015 FOR THE NHTSA RECALL 15V -045 ---- SERVICE BULLETIN # 15-013 .
2003 HONDA ODYSSEY EX WAS TAPPED IN THE REAR BY A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK WHILE WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT, CREASING THE LIFT GATE AND SLIGHTLY PUNCTURING THE BUMPER COVER. JEFF'S BODY SHOP IN CHESTER MD IS THE REPAIR SHOP. UPON REMOVING THE REAR BUMPER COVER, THEY DISCOVERED THE STEEL FRAME TO BE SEVERELY RUSTED, WITH OVER HALF OF THE BOTTOM OF THE BEAM MISSING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE STEEL FRAME MEMBER FROM THE ACCIDENT. HAD THIS BEEN A MORE SERIOUS COLLISION, THE BEAM COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY FAILED AT ITS INTENDED PURPOSE. THIS VAN WAS GARAGE KEPT FROM 2003-2010, WELL CARED FOR AND GENERALLY NOT DRIVEN WHEN IT SNOWED AND ROADS SALTED, AND IN TEMPERATE MARYLAND THE ENTIRE TIME. THE REPAIR SHOP WILL BE CUTTING OUT AND WELDING IN A NEW FRAME MEMBER. PHOTOS OF THE RUSTED PART ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. I'VE ALSO ASKED THE BODY SHOP TO SAVE THE PART FOR INSPECTION.

MY TCS LIGHT HAD COME ON A FEW DAYS PRIOR. I WAS GOING DOWN HIGHWAY AT 55MPH THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DRIVE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH. MY CAR LOST ALL POWER AND ACCELERATION WITH NO WARNING CAUSING THE PERSON BEHIND ME TO ALMOST HIT ME. I PULLED OVER MY RPM'S WERE GOING UP BUT CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE UNLESS FLOORED AND THEN BARELY. NO PRIOR WARNING OR SLIPPING.
THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT 70MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY SHIFTED DOWN TO EITHER SECOND OR THIRD GEAR CAUSING THE VEHICLE SLOW DOWN AND MOVE AT A MAXIMUM SPEED AROUND 20MPH. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND US.

TRYING TO STOP AT THE LIGHT, THE ABS SEEMED TO ENGAGE, THE CAR HAD A HARD TIME STOPPING AND DOWNSHIFTING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE D LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, AND THE TCS LIGHT STAYED ON.
