The night before Christmas Eve, I was commuting home from the neighboring city, which is about a 25 minute drive home from where I was currently located. It was late in the evening and 2 of my children were in the car with me. I live in a rural area that is extremely dark in most of the areas. As I'm driving along both of my low beams go out without warning. This made for a very dangerous situation. I reacted as quickly as I could to prevent an accident and tried my high beams. Fortunately, they turned on but unfortunately I had to drive the rest of the way home with my high beams on possibly blinding any driver that came in contact with me. Currently the low beams still are not working. I have read forum, after forum, after forum stating how this is a problem from a 2004 to at least a 2010 Odyssey before I discontinued reading any further. I'm not exactly sure what causes but I do know it's not caused by the spark plus, the light bulbs and there is no individual relay for this vehicle low beams independently.
The back doors start to open and close alone, then they did not open. I had to disconnect the electric doors .And the A/C It turns on by itself
When my kids and I were a hit and run accident. We were struck on the drivers side of the van. The side curtain airbags didn’t deploy.

When braking for an intersection the engine revved after lifting foot from the accelerator and brakes were not able to stop the vehicle until I was in the middle of the intersection. Luckily no other vehicles were in the intersection at the time otherwise it would have caused a crash.
Hello, the vehicle needs new tires and the alignment is not working properly after going 60 MPH on the highway it shakes.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side rear sliding door inadvertently opened. Additionally, the driver's side rear sliding door detached, and the driver's and passenger's side rear sliding doors failed to close once opened. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed as a common failure for the model vehicle; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
The contact owned a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and shuddered. Additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact restarted and parked the vehicle at the residence. An independent mechanic went to the residence and diagnosed the vehicle with a failed transmission. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the rear passenger's side sliding door ajar message was displayed. The contact stated that the door failed to close after one attempt. The contact was able to close the rear passenger's side sliding door securely with the assistance of someone operating the door master switch while he was pushing the door from the outside; however, the door failed to reopen. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 248,000.
The power sliding door on my driver's side completely fell off. This is due to a faulty hinge with plastic rollers that was I told totally disentgrate after being used normally. This hinge is located at back part of sliding door. I had no warning in any way. There was no warning lights or any sounds of any kind that told me something was wrong. I was closing my door after loading my groceries into my vehicle when the door literally fell off hinges and onto me. Luckily, it was me and not one of my children as I could just barely bear that weight and ended up hurting my back and shoulder because of it. There is no way that they could have, it would have crushed them! My vehicle is available to view issue at request. Please check into this it definitely needs to be recalled and fixed before a child gets hurt! There are thousands of people that have dealt with this happening to them with their Honda Odyssey, why hasn't this vehicle been recalled and fixed? What is going on?
Sunroof exploded and shattered
Both of the automatic sliding doors have came off tracks and fell off and will not close all the way it seems the door is only in place with a wire that supports the sliding component and has fallen off and the doors now are only supported by a single top track and this is a safety issue due to passengers riding in the van and if this falls off going down the road it could cause a accident
One main problem I have consistently noticed is signs someone other than me is getting in my car or leaving at least impression they did inside the car alot although I am the only one supposed to have a key. It was happening so much I paid Lafontaine Honda more than $1000 to change out the keys including the ignition but that hasnt resolved the problem. I still see normal evidence they are actually touching things inside my car and even stealing alot of fuel which they took so much last night it was ridiculous. I keep sending my local police reports and photos of as much as I can using the tipline and they never contact me back like they either ignoring, staying anonymous, or have no time to read my messages. They fuel is being stolen everytime I fill the tank by someone nearbye. The next issue is that there is a malfunction clearly feels like it is inside the steering wheel mechanics and not my tires that something or one is overriding the steering when I am on the freeway and highway jerking me in the direction of other vehicles when they start passing me like they trying to make them think I am threatening to hit them or threatening me to cause a collision. Exactly how it feels. They were even doing it to lyrics in the music while I was driving alot the whole trip there and back. The car seems very insecure. I see also that other people in like models cars locally are popping up on me like they have a gps on me and that is threatening. The steering wheels ignition switch was checked and I told them of the intrusion problems but they offered me no solution. Insurance is not helping me with repairs of anything and wont even offer me an option to get me discounts on car repairs or inspection help. I cant even report that type of stuff. Police also wont inspect a car but sends me away to a mechanic all the time. I think the previous owner may have modded a bunch of the parts but it is my car and should only be responding to me. Not others.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 - 25 MPH, the brake pedal went to the floorboard while depressed and failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with rear brake caliper failure. The mechanic informed the contact that the rear brake caliper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 240,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey equipped with Michelin Tires. Tire Line: PAC Tire Tire Size :235/710R460A. The contact stated that the tire tread was low and he was unable to have the tires removed and replaced. The TPMS warning indicator illuminated and rendered the system inoperable. The contact called several local dealers Honda Service of Omaha 4111 S 144th St, Omaha, NE 68137(402) 408-1000, O'Daniel Honda Service123 Beverly Dr, Omaha, NE 68114(402) 393-7801where it was informed the tires have been discontinued and/or the machine for removal was not available. ECO system causes vehicle front end to shake when activated thought it was wheel balance and nothing front alignment and still does the same thing
The sliding door on the driver side has had trouble latching. It has repeatedly caused the battery to drain and has been previously repaired at an independent service center. On 7/16/21, the same sliding door wouldn't close and fell off. The slider center wheel detached causing the door to fall off the track. This resulted in body damage to the side of the vehicle as well as the door needing to be repaired. The vehicle is currently at a body shop, an independent service center. There were no warning lamps on. The door could have injured myself or my son but fortunately we were able to catch it.
Electrical issues
MOTOR MOUNTS WORN OUT
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE FRONT THE HOUSE AND ITS JUST CAUGHT FIRE WE CALLED THE EMERGENCY AND THE FIRE TRUCK THE MAKE REPORT BUT THE POLICE DIDN'T MAKE ANY REPORT
AIR BAG LIGHT ON DASH STAYS ON THERE WAS A RECALL BUT HONDA IS DENYING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,000.
DOOR STOPPED WORKING LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE... NOW THE DOOR FELL OFF. CAR WAS PARKED. COULD'VE BEEN DRIVING THOUGH. VERY DANGEROUS. READ MANY MANY MANY (HUNDREDS) OF PEOPLES POSTS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO THEIR HONDA ODYSSEY'S. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL.
HAVE A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE THIRD ROW SEAT ON THE RIGHT SIDE WILL NOT LATCH RELIABLY TO THE FLOOR. SITTING ON THE SEAT AND/OR ACCELERATING CAUSES THE SEAT AND PASSENGER TO FLIP BACKWARDS. THE SEAT LATCH IS ON A SWINGING PANEL AND IS TOO FAR FORWARD TO MEET THE FLOOR MOUNTED HOOP. THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ANY WAY TO ADJUST THE LATCH POSITION.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ONCE THE ENGINE REACHES OPERATING TEMPERATURE THE VEHICLE FAILS TO ACCELERATE AND SHIFT GEARS. I MASH THE GAS PEDAL AND THE RPM GAUGE GOES UP BUT THE VEHICLE DOESN'T MOVE. I LET THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION COOL DOWN AND SOMETIMES IT WILL OPERATE PROPERLY AGAIN UNTIL EVERYTHING WARMS UP. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IM SITTING AT A LIGHT OR IN ACTUAL MOTION GOING DOWN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE CEASES TO CONTINUE MOVING. I HAVE BEEN GOING 60 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR LOSES ALL MOVEMENT BUT THE CAR IS STILL REVING UP AND I CAN CHANGE GEARS BUT IT STOPS ME DEAD IN MY TRACKS. I CALLED THE TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY TELL ME ITS A VERY COMMON ISSUE BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN ABLE TO BE PINPOINTED
MY ENGINE EXPLODED ON SATURDAY DEC 12 ABOUT 10 OCLOCK WHEN WE TURNED THE IGNITION TO START THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, WHEN HE STARTED FEELING SLEEPY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V112000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). LEJEUNE HONDA CARS LOCATED AT 2221 N MARINE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, NC 28546, (910) 346-4944, WERE CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
WHEN DRIVING THERE IS A VERY NOTICEABLE BLURRINESS IN THE WINDSHIELD. SEEMS LIKE A DEFECT IN THE GLASS. IT'S LIKE WEARING GLASSES THAT ARE WAY TO STRONG FOR WHAT YOU NEED AND MAKES DRIVING BLURRY. I AM ASKING FOR A NEW WINDSHIELD AS THIS ONE IS A DEFECT
Van doors opened by themselves going 60 down the highway while my children were in the vehicle. Happened 3 separate times.
WHEN I AM SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT FEELS LIKE MY TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING LIKE A MANUAL. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN IM SLOWING DOWN / COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. *TR
THE SLIDING DOORS, POP OPEN WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD , WHEN DONE DRIVING THE VECHILE I HAVE TO UNHOOK MY BATTERY BECAUSE THE DOORS DRAW POWER AND WILL KILL MY BATTERY, THE AUTOMATIC DOORS DO NOT OPEN YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY OPEN THEM UP
I GOT MY KIDS OUT OF THE VAN AND WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR WHEN I WAS CLOSING THE DOOR IT FELL OFF IN MY HAND LUCKILY ONE OF MY CHILDREN WEREN'T CLOSING THE DOOR AS IT WOULD HAVE CRUSHED THEM
POWER STEERING IS MAKING NOISE BUT HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT MAKES A WEIRD SOUND WHILE I WAIT IN A RED OR STOP SIGN THEN FEELS LIKE THE VAN GOES BACKWARDS. IF I TRY TO TURN ON THE ENGINE IT'S REALLY HARD I TRY TO DRIVE OR REVERSE THE THE VAN STARTS SHAKING AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF.
ENGINE OIL LEAK, WHEN I STEP DEEP INTO THE BRAKE THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES. THE VGA ALERT APPEARS.
VEHICLE HAS A APPROXIMATELY 140,000 MI. WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 65 MPH.TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP MALFUNCTIONED AND WENT INTO NEUTRAL. HAD TO COAST ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO EXIT. WHEN SPEED PERMITTED SHIFT DOWN TO WND AND QSTACKS GEAR AND WAS ABLE TO LIMP INTO A PARKIN* LOT. HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION FACILITY. PULLED THE TRANSMISSION DIP STICK AND SMELLED THE FLUID WHICH EMITTED A VERY PUNGENT SMELL. THE FLUID WAS NOT BLACK. THE FLUID HAD BEEN CHANGED 15- 20,000 MI EARLIER. WHEN TALKING TO MECHANIC HE TOLD ME ALMOST EXACTLY HOW MANY M8LES HE THOUGHT THE CAR HAD BECAUSE HE HAD SEEN SO MANY HONDA'S WITH EXACTLY THIS SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT HONDA DID NOT DESIGN THIS TRANSMISSION PROPERLY TO LAST WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE AND FLUID CHANGES.
CAR WAS IN PARK, WENT TO GO IN DRIVE/REVERSE AND CAR WAS BEEPING THAT DOORS WERE OPEN BUT ALL DOORS WERE CLOSED. PUT CAR IN PARK, OPENED ALL DOOR AND RESHOT THEM. PUT INTO REVERSE AND STARTED BEEPING AGAIN THAT DOORS WERE NOT SHUT.
ODYSSEY 2006 3.5 HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDS REPLACING. WHEN DRIVING THERE IS HARDLY ANY ACCELERATION WHEN YOU APPLY GAS. CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND GASKETS ARE FAULTY. IGNITION COIL NEEDS REPLACING BEFORE ITS TIME. AND THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH PURGE VALVE THAT MIXES THE FUEL WHILE DRIVING.
MY PASSENGER DOORS STOPPED OPENING BY BUTTON AND HANDLE, TURNING SIGNALS, BRIGHTS, DASH SIGNALS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, DOOR LOCKS, HORN. ALL STOP WORKING WHENEVER THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT AND MORE THEN A COUPLE DON'T WORK AT SAME TIME. DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SEATBELT DOESNT STAY TIGHT FOR MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT ABD UNABLE TO USE OTHER SEAT AS THAT DOOR DOESNT WORK AT ALL ANYMORE. THE STEERING IS ALSO VERY DIFFICULT WHEN TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE TO USE ALL STRENGTH FROM BOTH ARMS TO PULL THE WHEEL INTO THE DIRECTION I NEED THE CAR TO GO
VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST VSA SIGN WITH CAUTION SIGN ON DESHBOARD. MINIVAN RUN FINE AS OF NOW BUT NO IDEA WHEN & WHAT TYPE PROBLEM IT CREATE WHEN DRIVING ON ROAD.
DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR FELL OFF. HAD JUST PARKED. NO PREVIOUS ISSUE, JUST CAME OFF THE TRACKS AND FELL ON ME AS IT OPENED. VERY ALARMING AS MY TODDLER WAS SITTING IN THERE IN HER CAR SEAT. I'VE NOW HAD TO WAIT IN 108 DEGREE HEAT WAITING FOR A MOBILE MECHANIC. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH ALL ODYSSEY'S AND REALLY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING FREEZING UP ON SLOW TURNS AND THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH IS STUCK MAKING THE CAR TRANSMISSION HEAT UP AND QUIT UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN, I WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD 4X FOR THIS. ONCE WITH MY 97 YR OLD BROTHER IN LAW AND 79 YR OLD SISTER.THEY WANT $4000 TO FIX THIS. THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE BROKE ALSO.I HAD THE RUN FLAT PAX TIRES ON IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED, I WAS NOT TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AT LEAST 100 TO 200 MILES TO GET THEM CHANGED OUT AS THEY NEED A SPECIAL MACHINE TO FIX THEM. I HAD TO BUY NEW RIMS AND TIRES FOR $1500. I HAVE 125,000 MILES ON THE CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND A HONDA TO ANYONE.
MY HUSBAND AND I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY OUT OF TOWN FOR A WEDDING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WE STARTED TO SMELL A REALLY BAD SMELL AND THE VAN STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE AND SPUTTERING. WE QUICKLY EXITED THE NEXT CLOSEST EXIT AND THE VAN STARTED TO STALL. WE WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE ANY MORE. WE WERE ALREADY 82 MILES FROM HOME AND NOT NEAR ANY BUSINESSES. WE CALLED ROADSIDE SERVICE WHICH TOWED US TO THE NEAREST MECHANIC WHO TOLD US WE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. OUR TRIP WAS OVER! WE HAD TO PAY $350 TO TOW US BACK HOME. MY VAN ONLY HAS 82,000 MILES! I CAN'T BELIEVE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THEIR WERE NO PRIOR WARNING BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND WHEN PARKED ON AN INCLINE, THE CONTACT DETECTED AN ABNORMAL ODOR OF FUEL EMERGING FROM THE SECOND ROW SEATS. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED PARKER JOHNSTONE'S WILSONVILLE HONDA (30600 SW PARKWAY AVE, WILSONVILLE, OR 97070, (503) 985-6958), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.
TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING PROPERTY SPECIFICALLY IN THE R GEAR
I WAS DRIVING FINE, ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ENGINE JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND THERE WAS NO POWER. TURN ON AGAIN, IT WORKED. DRIVE FOR 2 MILES, IT TOTALLY SHUP DOWN AGAIN. NO POWER, NOTHING.
