MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY MINIVAN DEVELOPED A HOLE IN THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER AFTER JUST 4 MONTHS OF DRIVING (8K MILES) AND I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THIS WAS A FREAK ACCIDENT OF A PEBBLE PUNCTURING THE CONDENSER THAT WAS COVERED UNDER BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY OR INSURANCE. THE WARRANTY IS SUPPOSED TO COVER ALL ITEMS THAT AREN'T NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, BUT IT DOESN'T. I HAVE ALSO HEARD COUNTLESS PEOPLE CLAIM THE SAME DAMAGE TO THEIR MINIVANS SO IT SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW AND NOT A FREAK ACCIDENT. THERE ARE EVEN SPECIAL GRILL COVERS MANUFACTURED BY OTHER COMPANIES TO FIX THE HONDAS PROBLEM. I FEEL HONDA SHOULD STAND UP THEIR WARRANTY. *TR
INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES ON THE SLIDING DOORS ON THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY FREQUENTLY STICK. CONSEQUENTLY THE AUTOMATIC SIDE SLIDING DOORS DON'T FULLY LATCH OR SECURELY LOCK. THIS STILL IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM ON A VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. THE ISSUES WERE BROUGHT TO HONDA'S ATTENTION DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THEY ATTEMPTED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH ADDITIONAL LUBRICATION, BUT THE PROBLEMS STILL PERSISTED. NOW ONCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY HAVE INFORMED US THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE, OR TO ERADICATE THE PROBLEM (AS OF ABOUT 12-10-09), AND THUS WE NOW BEAR FULL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL REPAIRS. *TR
THE HONDA ODYSSEY IN QUESTION WAS PURCHASED IN THE 1ST WEEK OF JANUARY 2006 AND HAD ABOUT 6000 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT BRAKES WERE MAKING GRINDING NOISES WHILE STOPPING. THESE NOISES ARE NOT SO PROMINENT WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED MILDLY (AS IN THE CASE OF COASTING TO A STOP), BUT ARE CLEARLY HEARD INSIDE THE CABIN WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED A LITTLE MORE FIRMLY (AS ONE WOULD DO IT TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A HALT QUICKLY). I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THIS LOOKED AT. LATER IN THE DAY I WAS INFORMED THAT AND THE FRONT BRAKE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THE ROTORS REFINISHED DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE FRONT BRAKE PADS. I HAVE A REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MORE CASES OF THIS HAPPENING AND I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST NHTSA TO LOOK INTO WHETHER THIS IS A MORE PREVALENT PROBLEM THAN JUST A RANDOM INCIDENT. *NM
FRONT DOOR DETENTS TO HOLD DOOR OPEN THE SLIGHTEST BREEZE OR ANGLE CLOSES THE DOOR ON YOUR LEG OR HAND
I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE OWNER THAT SUBMITTED ODI CASE #:10169618 (SEE BELOW), OUR 2006 ODYSSEY IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE. IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW JUST BECAUSE IT HAS FINALLY GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT MY WIFE NOW NOTICES IT AND CAN PIN POINT WHERE SHE BELIEVES IT IS COMING FROM. HONDA DEALERS RECOMMEND AT 15K AS PART OF THEIR MINOR SERVICE CALIBER LUBRICATION. IF THIS IS SUCH AN ISSUE WITH THE CALIPERS WHY DON'T THEY INCLUDE THIS AS A WARRANTY CHECKUP FOR THE BRAKE PADS, INSTEAD THEY DECIDE TO CHARGE US FOR THEIR LABOR. THIS PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES AS DESCRIBED BELOW HAS HAPPENED AROUND 8 DIFFERENT TIMES OVER A SPAN OF 4 MONTHS. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 17K ON IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND PULLED TO THE SIDE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE STARTING THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY HE HEARD A LOUD STATIC SOUNDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO PARTICULAR TIME OF THE DAY, AND THERE WERE NO PARTICULAR ROAD CONDITIONS WHEN THIS OCCURRED.. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED HIM THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING THE NOISE. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUSE BOX, AND THE STARTER RELAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. 1. INTERIOR VEHICLE LIGHTS SEEM TO INDICATE EXTERIOR LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THEY ARE NOT. EXTERIOR LIGHTS ARE OFF AT NIGHT TIME. THE INABILITY TO DETECT EXTERIOR LIGHTS ARE ON AT NIGHT. 2. EXTERIOR IMITATION CHROME PEELS OFF CHEAP PLASTIC. 3. POOR STEERING QUALITY FOR A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND ALTENATOR DUE TO BELT SLIPPING WHEN DRIVING ON RAIN COVERED ROADS. THIS AUTO ONLY HAS 33,000 MILES. *TR
LESS THAN 48K MILES ON OUR 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AND THE CRANK SHAFT HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED AND A MOTOR MOUNT. THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS OVER $1,000. THESE TYPES OF FAILURES SHOULD NOT BE SEEN ON A VEHICLE THIS NEW. HONDA JUST SAYS "SORRY." *TR
THE CURRENT DESIGN OF THE GRILL ALLOWS UNPROTECTED ACCESS FOR ROAD DEBRIS, I.E. SMALL ROCKS, TO STRIKE THE A/C CONDENSER WHICH ALLOWS A LEAK. HONDA DOES NOT CONSIDER THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DESPITE THE DESIGN FLAW. *NM
THE VAN HAS DROVE TERRIBLE ALMOST FROM THE TIME WE HAVE BOUGHT IT. IT PULLED VERY BAD ON THE EXPRESSWAY TO THE LEFT. IT CAN CHANGE LANES ALL BY ITSELF, LIKE AUTOPILOT. WE TOOK IT IN REPEATEDLY, AND ALL THEY WOULD DO IS GIVE IT A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, AND WOULDN'T TEST DRIVE IT OR ANYTHING. FINALLY OVER CHRISTMAS WEEK THEY TRIED AND TRIED TO FIX IT. THEY ADJUSTED THE ENGINE CRADLE SO IT WAS HEAVIER ON ONE SIDE THEN THE OTHER, THEY ADJUSTED THE TIRE PRESSURE OFF 2 POUNDS ON ONE SIDE AND TILTED ONE TIRE 10 DEGREES OFF FROM THE OTHER ONES. THEY ALSO PUT LONG CAMBER BOLTS IN THE ENGINE CRADLE. WELL THE VAN NOW DRIVE WORSE THEN EVER. THEY HAD A FACTORY REP. DRIVE IT AND BEFORE THAT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE TO FLY IN A ENGINEER TO TRY TO FIX IT. HE TEST DROVE IT AND SAID OH IT DRIVE LIKE ALL 2006 HONDA ODSSEYS. THEN WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. WE ARE NOW GOING THROUGH THE BBB TO GET OUR MONEY BACK. WE CANNOT BELIEVE HOW TERRIBLE WE WERE TREATED BY BRIGHTON HONDA DEALERSHIP AND BY HONDA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE. DON'T BUY A HONDA EVER!!! IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT EVER THEY WONT AND DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES!!! I BOUGHT THIS VAN FOR SAFETY FOR MY 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND FEEL LIKE WE ARE DRIVING A DEATH TRAP. AFTER THE SERVICE WAS DONE AT HONDA(A B TYPE SERVICE); I AM FEELING A JERK AFTER PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL ON SPEED. WITH KIDS IN THE CAR THIS IS A SCARY EXPERIENCE, HONDA DEALER DIDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE THEY DID ANYTHING WITH THIS. THOUGH IT APPEARED JUST AFTER THAT. I TOOK MY HONDA FOR SERVICE AT HONDA TWIN CITY AT SAVOY,IL.
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY FROM A LOCAL DEALER. I NOTICED SOMETIME AFTER THE PURCHASE THE AIR CONDITIONING DIDN'T SEEM TO BE VERY COLD. I CHALKED IT UP TO THE WEATHER BEING HOTTER THAN NORMAL, AND MY FAILURE TO NOT READ THE MANUAL. WHEN ALL ELSE FAILED, I READ THE MANUAL. NO REAL HELP, I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING WRONG. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT A ROCK HIT THE CONDENSER AND THEREFORE THE REPAIR WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. I HAVEN'T EVEN MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT ON THE VAN AND A $700+ REPAIR BILL. I THINK NOT. HONDA HAS AGREED TO PAY FOR FIXING IT AS A "ONE TIME GOODWILL GESTURE." SOUNDS LIKE A LOAD OF CRAP TO ME. THAT ONLY ADDRESSES THE CURRENT SITUATION AND NOT THE PROBLEM. ALSO, COME TO FIND OUT PER THE DEALER, THEY HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN AT LEAST TWICE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. NOT TO MENTION A COUPLE OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE. NOT A FLUKE. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT I'M CONCERNED WILL GET ANOTHER ROCK IN THE CONDENSER LEADING TO A HUGE REPAIR BILL. WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE PASSENGER SIDE GLASS IN MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY EXPLODED/SHATTERED, RESULTING IN CUTS TO TWO PASSENGERS, ONE SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND ONE SEATED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE FIRST PASSENGER. IN ADDITION, THE SHATTERED GLASS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE LEATHER INTERIOR. HONDA WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT INVESTIGATE AND REJECTED THE CLAIM. *NM
I HAVE HAD MY HONDA ODYSSEY INSPECTED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT A CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH VEHICLE WHEN IT COMES TO A STOP. I RECENTLY WAS TOLD BY A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE (MECHANIC OF HONDA) THAT SOME OF THE ODYSSEY (2006 MODEL) THE NOISE IS FROM THE GAS TANK BUMPING. I WAS TOLD THIS IS JUST A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ODYSSEY. I TOLD THEM THAT SOMETIMES THE NOISE IS REALLY A LOUD AND A HARD CLUNK. I THEN WAS TOLD JUST CHECK AND SEE HOW FULL THE GAS TANK IS AT THE TIME. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND LEARNED OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T HOW THISCOULD NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN GAS IS INVOLVED? I THINK THEY SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY END OF APRIL, 2006. TWO MONTHS LATER MY AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING (IT WAS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE). TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE $125 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE "WE SEE A LOT OF ROCKS DAMAGING AIR-CONDITIONERS, AND IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY." TURNS OUT A ROCK IMPACTED THE CONDENSER WHILE I WAS DRIVING, CAUSING THE AIR-CONDITIONER TO STOP WORKING. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT, THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS DOCUMENTED SINCE 2005 (YEAR ODYSSEY WAS REDESIGNED) AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOUND ON THE INTERNET. PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED WITH A GRILLE COVER, HONDA REFUSES TO FIX PROBLEM AND CHARGES CUSTOMERS FOR THE REPAIR. *NM
PURCHASED VEHICLE 5/23/06. VEHICLE HAS VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL SINCE PURCHASE. HONDA HAS BALANCED WHEELS TWICE WITHOUT SOLVING PROBLEM. I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER 7/13/06 AND ASKED FOR REPAIR OF DEFECT UNDER NEW CAR WARRANTY. DEALER REFUSED AND GAVE ME A WORK ORDER STATING: HONDA REPRESENTATIVE HAD FOUND, LAST TIME IN, " VIBRATION TO BE NORMAL AT THIS TIME AS PER DPSM 999"...IN CONVERSATION WITH HONDA REP. HE TOLD ME VIBRATIONS ARE NOT A DEFECT BUT A CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS VEHICLE. SAFETY, EXCESSIVE WEAR ON MECHANICAL COMPONENTS AND DEGRADED RE-SALE VALUES ARE NOT AN ISSUE. IT WAS ALSO MY RESPONSIBILITY PRIOR TO PURCHASING VEHICLE TO TEST DRIVE AND DETERMINE "CHARACTERISTICS" AND EITHER TO PURCHASE OR DECLINE PURCHASING ON THAT BASIS... IT APPEARS HONDA IS ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE BURDEN AND EXPENSE OF THEIR DEFECTS ON THE CONSUMER. *JB
APPARENTLY THE "MASTER" CONTROL SWITCH IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR EXPERIENCED A LOOSE CONNECTION. THIS PREVENTED THE WINDOWS FROM OPERATING, I EXITED THE VEHICLE WHILE IT WAS RUNNING TO USE AN ATM MACHINE, SINCE THE WINDOW WOULD NOT OPERATE AND THE DOORS LOCKED, TRAPPING MY 2 YEAR OLD INSIDE.
AIR CONDITIONER FAILED DUE TO A ROCK PUTTING A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER. HONDA WILL NOT COVER UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. *JB
2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER DAMAGED BY ROAD DEBRIS AND REQUIRED REPLACING THE CONDENSER. DEALER STATED DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY ROAD HAZARD/DEBRIS AND SO WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE CONDENSER IS VERY EXPOSED ON FRONT BOTTOM OF VEHICLE WITH NO PROTECTION FROM FLYING DEBRIS. SIMILAR EVENT HAS OCCURRED TO MANY OWNERS OF 2006 ODYSSEYS. HONDA SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE/RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE A PRODUCT TO PROTECT THE CONDENSER ON THIS MODEL. THE 2008 ODYSSEY COMES WITH A GRILL COVERING THE CONDENSER. SO IT IS OBVIOUS THEY ARE AWARE OF THE OLD BAD DESIGN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. IN 2006, WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURES AND DID NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS. THE FAILURE HAS RECURRED AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
A 1500 RPM, A VIBRATION IS FELT ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN MOVING UNDER LOAD (NOT COASTING). THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME AT THE ENGINE SPEED (NOT AT 1200 RPM OR 1700 RPM). THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT NO PROBLEM WAS SHOWN IN THE COMPUTER. I ALSO COMPLAINED THAT I WAS GETTING VERY POOR MILEAGE IN TOWN (LESS THAN 15 MPH WHICH I CONSIDER NOT ACCEPTABLE). THE VIBRATION IS MY MAIN CONCERN SINCE SOMETHING MAY BE OUT OF BALANCE AND CAUSE A FAILURE. *JB
PURCHASED HONDA ODYSSEY FROM LEITH HONDA, RALEIGH, NC JUNE 2006. FROM THE BEGINNING, EXPERIENCED A VIBRATION (MOTOR) AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 RPM WHEN UNDER LOAD, AT ANY SPEED. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM INDICATED IN THE COMPUTER AND THAT EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.(PREVIOUSLY REPORTED 12/26/06) *JB
FAILURE OF MICHELIN PAX SYSTEM TIRES AT 25K MILES. THESE TIRES OFFER UNREALISTIC/UNACCEPTABLE WEAR WHICH WOULD REQUIRE YEARLY REPLACEMENT AT $1200+ PER YEAR. MANUFACTURE AND/OR DEALER DID NOT MENTION OR ADVISE ANYTHING OF THE SORT DURING PURCHASE OF VEHICLE. SEVERELY RESTRICTIVE OPTIONS WITH RESPECT TO REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF TIRES. EXCESSIVELY HIGH COST OF TIRES, LACK OF LONGEVITY AND DURABILITY OF TIRES, ALONG INABILITY TO REPLACE WITH SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE TIRES. *TR
BOUGHT A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY IN MAY 2006. LESS THAN A MONTH LATER, ON A VERY HOT DAY, AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO DEALER. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A "ROCK OR SOMETHING" HIT AND PIERCED THE CONDENSER WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. SINCE IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, IT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. HAVE READ SEVERAL OTHER REPORTS ON INTERNET OF THIS SAME THING HAPPENING. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT THAT COULD BE FIXED BY A GRILL COVER. YET, HONDA REFUSES TO DO SO, AND CHARGES CUSTOMER FOR REPAIR. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE REGAINED POWER WHILE SLOWLY PULLING TO THE CURB. WHILE COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE DEALER REPLACED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER OCCURRED AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. BRAKE FAILURE ON HONDA ODYSSEY 2006 MODELS WHEN HAVING MORE THAN 5 PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE. VERY LOW BRAKING POWER AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 60 MPH. THIS HAS CAUSED A VERY CAUTIOUS DRIVING HABIT. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS INSPECTED AS GOOD CONDITION. HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES. THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS ON APPLICATION OF BRAKES EVERYTIME TO SLOW DOWN. TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKING POWER WHEN DRIVING DOWN SLOPE. DRIVING DOWN SLOPE, THE BRAKES SQUEAL (METAL GRINDING OVER METAL). THIS INCIDENT OCCURS WHEN DRIVING LONGER THAN 15 MINUTES DOWNHILL WITH CONSTANT APPLICATION OF BRAKES. SHIFTED THE GEAR TO THE LOWEST, AND YET THERE IS NO BRAKING POWER. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN. WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT, I DROVE DOWN AN OBSTRUCTED ANGLED DRIVEWAY TO EXIT TO THE ROAD SURFACE AND HEARD A SCRAPE AND CRACK UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE I DISCOVERED A PLASTIC SHROUD COVERING THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS RIPPED LOOSE. FURTHERMORE, IT IS CONTINUOUS WITH THE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY WHICH WAS CRACKED. SURPRISED AT HOW EASILY THE DAMAGE OCCURRED, I MEASURED THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PAVEMENT AND THE UNDER SURFACE OF THE PLASTIC SHROUD TO BE JUST 5 1/2 INCHES. I FEEL THE GROUND CLEARANCE OF THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS ANY MINOR ROAD DEBRIS OR UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE TRAIN AND FRONT END ASSEMBLY. *JB
I HAVE OWNED A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY FOR THREE YEARS AND THE BRAKE PADS HAVE A SEVERE GRINDING NOISE ONCE THEY HEAT UP. THE EASIEST WAY TO MAKE THE BRAKES TO GRIND IS TO PERFORM THREE OR FOUR SUCCESSIVE STOPS, LIGHT, HARD, MED, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS IN APRIL 2006 BUT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE THE PROBLEM BEGAN AND I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THE NOISE. PUMP PRESSURE WAS CHECK AND DETERMINED TO BE NORMAL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PUMP WAS NORMAL AND NO REPAIRS WERE NEEDED. THROUGH THE WARMER MONTHS OF SPRING AND SUMMER THE PUMP HAS MADE NO NOISE. NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS GETTING COOLER THE PUMP IS AGAIN WHINNING. *NM

NEW, 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY, PURCHASED NEW DRIVEN FOR 7 WEEKS. LEAKING NOTICED ON GARAGE FLOOR. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE TRANSMISSION CASING THAT OCCURRED DURING MANUFACTURING PROCESS, THAT THE MOLD IT WAS MADE FROM MUST HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE. UNFORTUNATELY, HONDA REFUSES TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A NEW ONE, BUT WILL USE A MISH-MASH OF PARTS FROM 2005 & 2006 AND CLAIM IT AS REFURBISHED. THEY WILL NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PARTS DID NOT COME FROM VEHICLES DAMAGED IN HURRICANES. OUR NEW VEHICLE WILL NOW BE A SUBSTANDARD VEHICLE. IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS WHERE THE DRIVER IS INCAPACITATED AND CANNOT MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO THE PARK OR NEUTRAL POSITION , THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY SINCE THEY ARE HELD CLOSED BY THE ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY WHICH OPERATES THEM. EVEN IF THE DRIVER IS NOT INCAPACITATED HE/SHE MUST HAVE THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO THE APPROPRIATE POSITION BEFORE THE SLIDING DOORS CAN BE OPENED. TO NOT HAVE A MANUAL DOOR OVER RIDE PREVENTS THE REAR PASSENGERS FROM EMERGENCY EGRESS! WITHIN A FEW DAYS THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW (IT IS WORTH MENTIONING THAT I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE OTHER POWER WINDOWS) OFTEN TIMES DID NOT CLOSE WHEN I TRIED TO CLOSE IT. THE WORST TIMES ARE WHEN IT RAINS OR THE TEMPERATURE IS COLD. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER HONDA DEALER TO HAVE THE WINDOW REPAIRED. THEY ATTEMPTED THE REPAIRS BUT WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE POWER WINDOW. I TRIED MANY JIFFY LUBE AND LIQUID WRENCH TO LUBRICATE THE WINDOW PER THE DEALER'S RECOMMENDATION BUT THE RESULT HAS BEEN ONLY TEMPORARY AND THE WINDOW CONTINUES TO STAY DOWN WHEN IT SHOULD BE CLOSING. *TR
