HONDA SERVICE TECHNICIAN NOTED THE FRONT AND SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS TO BE BROKEN WHILE THE VAN WAS IN FOR ROUTINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE. COST OF REPAIR $1100. VAN IS USED AS A FAMILY COMMUTE CAR NOT ON OFF ROADS, ONLY ON PAVED ONES AND NO ACCIDENTS AT ALL. *TR
BROKEN ENGINE MOUNTS. I FIXED THE FRONT ONE IN NOV 2014. THE ENGINE IS NOW RATTLING WHILE IT IS IDLING. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT NEEDS REPLACING AS WELL AS THE REAR ONE. I HAVE SEEN MANY HONDA CHAT BOARDS AND MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND HONDA IS NOT STEPPING UP TO HELP THIS SYSTEMIC PROBLEM. HOPING THIS KICKS THEM INTO GEAR. *TR
POWER WINDOWS STOP WORKING EXCEPT THE DRIVER SIDE. *TR
MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY ABOUT 60,000 MILES NOW. VSA LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. DEALER SAID VSA MODULATOR BAD AND NEED $1400 TO FIX IT. BRAKING IS VERY SOFT AND NEED TO PRESS PEDAL AT LEAST 200-300 FEET AWAY BEFORE RED LIGHT TO ENSUE THE FULL STOP. FEEL DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING HIGHSPEED ON HWY/FWY. I RESEARCHED AND LEARNED THE VSA MALFUNCTION MIGHT CAUSE SUDDEN BRAKE DURING DRIVING. WHAT WILL THAT BE IF CAR AUTO-BRAKED WHEN DRIVING ON FREEWAY? *TR
MY 2006 ODYSSEY WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER 2ND ROW BY A VEHICLE THAT RAN A STOP SIGN AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE 2ND ROW PASSENGER SIDE. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE ODYSSEY TO SPIN AND WAS PUSHED AT LEAST 20 FEET BEFORE BEING STOPPED BY THE CURB. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND SHE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES- NO ONE WAS IN THE 2ND ROW THANKFULLY. WHEN I VIEWED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, AFTER INQUIRING FURTHER TO VERIFY THIS ASSUMPTION, I DISCOVERED THAT NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THIS. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND DID NOT. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A MALFUNCTION, AND I AM INFORMING YOU OF IT AS SUCH. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY BECAUSE A SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY WHEN VEHICLE IS HIT HARD AND DIRECTLY ON ITS SIDE. I WAS LEFT WITH THE THOUGHT OF WHY DO THEY EVEN INSTALL THESE IF IT DOES NOT DEPLOY IN THIS TYPE OF ACCIDENT. I CAN PROVIDE PICTURES WHICH SUBSTANTIATE THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT AND DAMAGE SUSTAINED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V112000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THERE WERE NO CRACKS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTIFICATION EXPLAINED THAT EVEN IF THERE WERE NO FAILURES WITH THE FUEL PUMP, IT STILL HAD TO BE REPLACED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE REPLACEMENT, BUT REFUSED TO REIMBURSE THE CONTACT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY WENT UP IN FLAME, WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ON 10/11/14. INSURANCE HAD ME TOW IT TO THE HONDA DEALER. AFTER HONDA HAVING THE CAR FOR 31 DAYS THE INSURANCE PAID THE REPAIRS & I PAID MY $500.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I'M READY TO DRIVE MY HONDA ODYSSEY AWAY ON 11/13/14, AND I NOTICE THE VAN BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE RPM'S DROPPED TO ALMOST 0. NO REPORT WAS GIVEN TO ME ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH VAN & WHAT FUTURE REPAIRS HAD TO BE DONE. ALL I GOT WAS THE PRESENT REPAIRS DUE TO THE FIRE, EVEN AFTER WE HAD ASKED THEM TO DO A FULL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE FIRE THE VAN NEVER SHOOK, IT NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. WHILE THERE, THEY PERFORMED THE CHANGING OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED BY HONDA, BUT NOW WE CAN NOT BE SURE THAT IT WAS DONE NOR CAN WE BE SURE THAT IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE CARS STATUS NOW. HONDA STILL HAS THE VAN IN THEIR LOT & INSURANCE ADJUSTER WENT TO SEE THE CAR AND NOW HONDA IS SAYING THAT THE SHAKING OF THE CAR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIRE. ACCORDING TO HONDA'S FINAL REPORT THE "PROBABLE" CAUSE OF FIRE WAS IN THE ALTERNATOR AREA -SUB-CORD ALTERNATOR TO FUSE BOX. HONDA SAID THE SHAKE IS CAUSED BY THE RUBBER MOTOR MOUNTS. I TRIED TO TELL HONDA THEY ARE RUBBER PIECES AND WHEN RUBBER COMES IN CONTACT WITH HEAT IT MELTS. HONDA WILL NOT FIX WITHOUT ME PAYING OUT OF POCKET. IF THE PROBLEM REALLY IS THE MOTOR MOUNTS, I HAVE RESEARCHED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE AWAITING A RECALL FROM HONDA ON THE MOTOR MOUNTS FOR THE FACT THAT THEIRS PREMATURELY FAILS. HONDA HAS US ON A BACK AND FOURTH. IF THEY CAN'T BE SURE WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE AND ARE DISREGARDING THE MOTOR MOUNTS GOING BAD DUE TO THE FIRE OR THE FUEL PUMP RECALL, THEN HOW CAN THEY BE SURE THAT NONE OF THE ABOVE IS NOT CAUSING THE VIOLENT SHAKE ON THE VAN. *TR
ON 10/10/2014 WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THROUGH AN INTERSECTION GOING 45 MPH THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND WE NARROWLY AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT WHILE COASTING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN AND WE PUSHED THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOST SPACE. WHILE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO JUMP THE CAR THE VEHICLE START AGAIN. AGAIN ON 10/11/2014 WHILE TURNING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THIS AGAIN ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. AT THIS TIME WE CONSIDER THIS VEHICLE NO SAFE TO OPERATE IF THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS STORIES LIKE THIS HAPPENING WITH HONDAY ODYSSEYS ON THE INTERNET. *TR
I TOOK MY VAN IN TO WILDE HONDA ON 9/17/14 FOR A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP NODULE. THE DAY I PICKED IT UP, I NOTICED A VERY LOUD SOUND FROM MY ENGINE. I HAD A FRIEND DRIVE THE CAR THE AFTERNOON OF 9/26/14 TO SEE IF HE COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. WHEN HE GOT IN TO DRIVE IT, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, MY D LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF SECOND GEAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE TRANSMISSION FLUID SMELLS LIKE IT IS BURNING. I HAVE NOW HAD A MECHANIC REVIEW IT AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS COMPLETELY FAILED AND I NEED TO HAVE A NEW ONE PUT IN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
MY VAN HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT YET THE REAR ENGINE MOUNT COLLAPSED AND MADE MY ENGINE SHAKE BACK AND FORTH CAUSING A VIBRATION DURING DRIVING. THEY TELL ME THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF STOP AND GO DRIVING. I KNOW MANY PEOPLE WHO OWN THESE VANS AND ALL OF THEM HAVE HAD TO HAVE THIS FAULTY PART REPLACED. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE REPAIR COST OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND IT TOOK THEM LESS THAN 1 1/2 HOURS TO FIX. *TR
MY ODYSSEY NEEDS A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL, AND WILL COST MORE THAN $3,000.00. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT JAPANESE VEHICLES ARE DURABLE, RELIABLE, AND LONG-LASTING, WITH TOYOTA BEING ONE OF THE BEST, BUT HONDA BEING THE BEST OF THE BEST. NOW, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HONDA. I AM HOPING FOR HONDA TO RECALL THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE ODYSSEY. I HAVE 4 FRIENDS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR OWN ODYSSEYS. AND MY AUTO MECHANIC DISCLOSED TO ME THAT THIS IS A REGULAR AND CONSISTENT PROBLEM THAT IS BROUGHT TO HIM BY HIS CUSTOMERS. PLEASE RECALL THE ODYSSEY TRANSMISSION TO RELIEVE US OF THE FINANCIAL BURDEN, AND TO REGAIN OUR CONFIDENCE TO HONDA VEHICLES. THANK YOU. *TR

LOUD CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE DRIVERS ENGINE SIDE - HAD CAR CHECKED AND MECHANIC REPLACED MOTOR MOUNTS, BUT STILL MAKING SAME NOISE - ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE ENGINE WILL DROP OUT AT ANY MOMENT. ALSO WHEN TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 55 OR HIGHER, VAN WILL SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND ALSO RANDOMLY AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN JUST STARTING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE VAN UNDER THESE CONDITIONS, FROM READING COMPLAINTS, IT DEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MALFUNCTION.

MOTOR MOUNTS GOT BROKEN AND ARE BAD DESIGNS FROM HONDA. THE COST TO REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE. AND IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. POOR QUALITY FROM HONDA. *TR

WHEN I WAS ON VACATION WITH MY FAMILY, THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. IT WOULD CLOSE PARTLY, BEGIN BEEPING AND REOPEN. WE HAD TO KEEP PRESSING THE CONTROL TO CLOSE THE DOOR UNTIL IT FINALLY CLOSED. TWO DAYS BEFORE THAT, THE LIFTGATE STRUTS FAILED. THAT IS DISTURBING WHEN I THINK ABOUT HOW MY DAUGHTER WAS HELPING ME GET ITEMS OUT OF THE BACK. WE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIRDLY, THE PAINT IS STRIPPING OFF ON PARTS OF THE BODY. CONSIDERING THE REPUTATION THAT HONDA IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE, IT IS UPSETTING TO HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH AN 8 YEAR OLD VEHICLE! NOW WE MUST DECIDE IF IT'S WORTH FIXING AND KEEPING OR TRADE IT IN FOR A TOYOTA. IN LOOKING AT THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BUT ARE NOT BEING ADDRESSED. THE CAR WAS LEAKING A BROWNISH-ORANGE LIQUID FROM THE FRONT MIDDLE OF THE ENGINE AREA. THREE OF THE FIVE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE FOUND TO BE BROKEN AND ALL NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDAS THAT HAVE A V6 ENGINE. IF THIS IS SUCH A WIDE-SPREAD PROBLEM, WHY IS IT NOT FIXED BY HONDA? THIS REALLY GREATLY INCREASED THE COST OF OVERALL HONDA OWNERSHIP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ENTERING A DRIVE WAY, THE BRAKES FAILED AND NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HAND, ARM, NECK, AND SHOULDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 134,448.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VSA SENSOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN TWICE. THE CODE WAS CLEARED BY THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE SWITCH, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESET THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE, THE VSA SENSOR WAS STILL ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER A THIRD TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V504000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. MVA OCCURRED WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO YIELD AND TURNED INTO THE PATH OF THE HONDA, THE HONDA WAS IMPACTED IN THE FRONT RIGHT AREA AND AIRBAG DEPLOYED CAUSING SEVERE SECOND DEGREE BURNS ON BOTH HANDS OF DRIVER. *TR
THE 4 MOTOR MOUNTS WITH THE MILEAGE OF 54,365 HAVE FAILED. THERE ARE COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS OF THIS SERIOUS DEFECT FROM HONDA AND IT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED. I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD MY MOTOR MOUNTS NEED TO BE REPLACED! IF I DID NOT NEED AN OIL CHANGED, WOULD MY ENGINE FALL TO THE GROUND. THIS FAILURE SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A VEHICLE WITH 54,000 MILES. WHY IS THIS NOT A SAFETY RECALL INITIATED BY THE NHTSA? *TR

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT HESITATED THREE TIMES AND SEEMED TO KINDA STOP.....MOVING FORWARD CAME UPON ANOTHER RED LIGHT AND WENT TO GO AGAIN AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO....OVER TWENTY MILES AN HOUR ANOTHER RED LIGHT AND THEN THE SAME THING COASTED TO THE SIDE AND PUT IT IN PARK CALLED AAA DEALERSHIP WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT. *TR
I WAN ON VACATION 500 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. DRIVING THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AS NORMAL ON THE HIGHWAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE STARTED OVER-REVVING AND THE VAN SLOWED DOWN. I PULLED OVER SAFELY. THE VAN WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS FINE. IT HAD TO BE TOWED 100 MILES TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE WE DISCOVERED THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AT GREAT COST. *TR
WE PURCHASED HONDA ODYSSEY NEW IN 2006. I NOTICED STEERING ISSUES ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND REPORTED IT DURING ROUTINE SERVICE. EVEN AFTER RECALL, ISSUE CONTINUES. NOTICED A FLUID LEAK & MENTIONED IT DURING SERVICE- WAS TOLD THERE WAS A BROKEN SEAL THAT WAS CAUSING VAN TO LEAK TRANSMISSION FLUID & "FIXED" FOR $1500. AFTER THIS FLUID CONTINUED TO LEAK, MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE VAN BACK. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 2 DAYS BEFORE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT, LIGHTS ON DASH CAME ON AND VAN LOST POWER STEERING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH. ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT POWER STEERING. I NOTICED AN OIL LEAK ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC HE FOUND THAT THE SPOOL VALVE IS LEAKING. THE HONDA DEALER INFORMED US THAT THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. THE OIL IS LEAKING ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND IS A VERY POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD. THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE AND THIS ISSUE IS A VERY SERIOUS ONE. *TR

ALSO VSA WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND FAULTY VTEC CONTROL VALVE WAS DISCOVERED. VAN SAT AT DEALER FOR 4 WEEKS WHILE WAITING ON BACK ORDERED VTEC CONTROL VALVE PART. COST OF PARTS, MECHANIC, ETC. $1496.57 NOT TO MENTION THE TOWING. NOW.... VAN BEING DRIVEN LAST WEEK, VSA LIGHT CAME ON, STEERING WHEEL SEIZED UP AND A TERRIBLE NOISE OCCURRED IN ENGINE. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 70 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON, WHEN THE BATTERY DASHBOARD INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WITHIN 20 MINUTES THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS BEGAN TO DIE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY. REPLACING THE BATTERY DID NOT ELIMINATE THE BATTERY INDICATOR AND THE VEHICLE DIED AGAIN ON MY WAY HOME AGAIN DRIVING AROUND 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED A SERVICE STATION WHERE THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE BOTH TESTED AND FOUND TO WORK PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TO TRY AND IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE PARASITIC DRAIN. IT DOES NOT SEEM REASONABLE FOR A VEHICLE WITH A PROPERLY FUNCTIONING ALTERNATOR TO LOSE ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND DIE WITH IN OPERATION AND INDICATES A DEFECT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR

IT STARTED WITH A LOUD CLUNK NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA ANYTIME I TURNED A CORNER OR DROVE OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. IT STARTED HAPPENING ALL THE TIME. TOOK IT IN AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE GOING OUT. I WAS QUOTED $1900.00 TO REPLACE ALL 5!! NOW MY CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60 MPH. WHEN WE TOOK DELIVERY OF OUR 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY ON JANUARY 21, 2014 THE RIGHT HAND DOOR WAS NOT OPENING/CLOSING PROPERLY. THE SALES PERSONNEL SAID THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE WEATHER RELATED AND TO GIVE IT SOME TIME AND THAT IF IT CONTINUED TO NOT WORK PROPERLY THEN TO BRING THE VAN BACK AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. WE HAD JUST UNDERGONE AN ICE STORM HERE IN MICHIGAN, IN DECEMBER 2013, AND HAD UNUSUALLY COLD TEMPERATURES WHICH STAYED UNTIL EARLY MARCH. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AFTER THE WEATHER HAD WARMED A BIT AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE DOOR AND THEY SAID THAT THE VAN WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT THAT THEY WOULD WORK ON IT AS A GOOD FAITH GESTURE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN IN AND THE CENTER ROLLER ASSEMBLY OF THE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS REPLACED. THE DOOR WORKED PROPERLY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THEN STARTED TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE SYMPTOMS THE DOOR WAS EXHIBITING WERE THAT OF A FAILED RELEASE ACTUATOR. I HAVE FOUND THROUGH RESEARCH THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THE 3RD GENERATION HONDA ODYSSEY VANS AND WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER REGARDING THIS ISSUE THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNLESS I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. THEY HAD EVEN NOTED IT IN THE VAN'S SERVICE RECORD THAT THE RELEASE ACTUATOR MIGHT HAVE TO BE REPLACED BUT ELECTED NOT TO DO IT AT THE TIME THEY REPLACED THE CENTER ROLLER BECAUSE THE VAN'S DOOR TESTED OK. *JS
