Rear glass/windshield exploded spontaneously while vehicle was parked securely in the closed garage of a private home. The once gray rear glass of the vehicle was now shattered and black. After the explosion a crackling sound was observed emanating from the shattered glass that remained attached along the periphery of the rear window opening.
Window trim molding on driver, passenger, sliding doors is apparently made of inferior quality rubber and is deteriorating which could cause a fire hazard if too much water gets inside doors. From what I've seen online, this is a common problem not only with the window trim rubber but also other rubber products.
SUNROOF OF OUR ODYSSEY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WE SAW THAT GLASS WAS BOWED OUT. SERVICEMAN AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS LOOKS TO HAVE OCCURRED FROM PRESSURE INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WE HAD NO CARGO AND NOTHING WAS TOUCHING THE SUNROOF. LUCKILY KIDS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME AND VEHICLE WAS IN CONTROL, BUT THIS IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE INJURY.
ALTHOUGH THERE IS A RECALL (R72) FOR THE HONDA ODYSSEY 2011 FOR WIPERS DISCONNECTING FROM MOTOR. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX MY ISSUE AS THEY SAY IT DOESN'T FALL WITHIN THE AFFECTED BATCH. THE SYMPTOM IS EXACTLY THE SAME. THEY ARE NOW CHARGING ME $30 FOR THE PART AND $220 WITH INSTALLATION. THIS HAPPENED EXACTLY AS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL. THEY REFUSE TO ACCEPT ITS THEIR ISSUE. *TR
NEW 2011 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING MODEL HAD A SNOWFLAKE LIKE CRACK THE SIZE OF A HALF-DOLLAR IN PASSENGER SIDE TOP CORNER OF WINDSHIELD. CRACK WAS IN THE CENTER OF THE GLASS AND COULD NOT BE FELT FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED BY HONDA DEALER TWO TIMES AND EACH TIME THE WINDSHIELD STARTS TO CRACK AFTER A FEW DAYS OF DRIVING. EACH TIME THE INSTALLATION WAS PERFORMED BY A DIFFERENT VENDOR. LOCAL HONDA DEALER HAS COME INTO CONTACT WITH THREE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE 2011 MODEL. THE LATEST CRACK FOUND IS ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE ABOUT 12 INCHES FROM THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD. *TR
2011 HONDA ODYSSEY. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE WINDSHIELD WIPERS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED ONE OF THE WIPERS SCRATCHED THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL REGARDING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED IT WOULD COST $240. TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. ON THE 2011 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L (YOUR DROP DOWN MENU DOES NOT GIVE THE ODYSSEY AS AN OPTION..BUT IT IS THE ODYSSEY), THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR HAS A DISTORTION ON THE OUTER EDGE OF THE MIRROR WHICH CAUSES THE DRIVER TO EXPERIENCE DIZZINESS WHEN LOOKING AT VEHICLES AT DISTANCE. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS DRIVERS ON THE WEB BUT NEITHER HONDA NOR CRISWELL HONDA IN ROCKVILLE MARYLAND WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE MIRROR UNTIL A HONDA BULLETIN IS RELEASED WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE AFTER AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED BUT THEY WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED BUT THE CONTACT COULD NOT RECALL WHAT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 420.
2011 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING - THE DRIVER SIDE SMALL WINDOW FORWARD OF THE DRIVER DOOR APPEARS TO NOT BE SEALED CORRECTLY. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON WINDY DAYS, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT AIR NOISE IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR. THE NOISE IS SO PRONOUNCED THAT IT OFTEN SOUNDS AS THOUGH A WINDOW IN THE CAR IS CRACKED OPEN. THE SOUND WAS FIRST NOISED THE DAY DELIVERY WAS TAKEN ON THE CAR. THIS IS MY 4TH HONDA ODYSSEY AND 6TH HONDA PRODUCT OWNED BY ME. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I EVER HEARD A NOISE LIKE THIS. I CALLED SERVICE BUT THEY OFFERED NO CONCLUSION, OTHER THAN TO FIX IT MYSELF. *TR
