MY CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE A LITTLE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND DOWN HILL AROUND 18,000 MILES. I DROVE IT AND FINALLY AT 22,000 MILES I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND THAT I NEEDED A BRAKE JOB. I FEEL THAT THE ROTORS ARE EITHER NOT THE PROPER SIZE OR THICKNESS FOR THE CAR. I'VE CHECKED ON LINE AND MANY SAME CAR OWNERS ARE SEEING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I FEEL THAT THE WARRANTY THE SHOULD HONOR REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR IF THE ROTORS ARE WARPING SO QUICKLY. *TR
THE MINI VAN STARTED TO VIBRATE (THE STEERING WHEEL) WHEN I WAS BRAKING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH) AND DOWN HILL. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FRONT ROTORS WAS BAD. THE DEALER RECOMMEND THAT A BRAKE JOB WAS NEEDED. THE BRAKE PADS, ROTORS, AND ANY BRAKING MATTERS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE UNTIL 50,000 MILES. I ASKED WHY THE ROTORS WENT BAD SO QUICKLY AND THE BOTH SPEAKING WITH THE DEALER AND THE CAR COMPANY, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAR IS "HEAVY". I NEVER TOWED ANYTHING OR HAD NO MORE THAN 6 AVERAGE PASSENGER IN MY CAR. IF THAT WAS THE CASE THE HONDA DID NOT ADEQUATELY PUT IN THE RIGHT SIZE ROTORS. FURTHER MORE, AS AN ENGINEER, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT A NEW BRAKE JOB WILL DO TO CORRECT THE ROTORS FROM BEING WARPED IF HONDA INSTALLED AN UNDER RATED ROTOR SIZE OR THICKNESS. NOT SURE IF THERE'S GOING TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
FRONT DISC ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS CAUSE EXTREME SHAKING OF VEHICLE THAT THE DRIVER CAN DETECT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL. FIRST DETECTED IN ~EARLY 2013 AT LOW MILES (~20000-25000). TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY INSTRUCTED WE HAD WARPED ROTORS. THEY REFINISHED FOR FREE, BUT I SUSPECTED THAT THE ROTORS MUST BE BAD QUALITY AND ASKED TO REPLACE. THEY DID NOT AND SAID THE REFINISHING SHOULD WORK. IT TEMPORARILY WORKED (NOW AT ~38000 MILES AND STARTED SHAKING AGAIN AT ~30-35K). I HAVE DECIDED TO REPLACE WITH UPGRADED ROTORS AND PADS MYSELF AND NOT WORRY ABOUT LOW QUALITY ROTORS FROM HONDA (VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PROBLEM GIVEN WE LOVED OUR OLDER 2008 MODEL AND THEY DIDN'T FIX PROPERLY, BUT OVERALL VERY HAPPY WITH VEHICLE). NOTICE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ALL READY POSTED AND KNOW OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD BRAKE ISSUES WITH ODYSSEY THROUGH CHAT BOARDS. DON'T KNOW WHY HONDA IGNORES THE ISSUE WHEN ITS OBVIOUS THE ROTORS ARE POOR QUALITY. *TR
THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE UNDERSIZED AND WILL WARP WITH USE CAUSING VIBRATION DURING BRAKING. THE HOMELINK STAYS ON EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF WITH KEY REMOVED CAUSING THIEF TO OPEN YOUR GARAGE DOOR WHEN THEY BREAK INTO THE CAR AND HAVING ACCESS TO HOMES BECAUSE THE HOMELINK STAYS ON CONSTANTLY.
I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT EVERYONE HAS SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VAN NEW (MAY 2012). AROUND 41,000 MILES (AUG 2014) HAD WARNING LIGHTS & CODES COME UP. HONDA REPLACED CYLINDERS 1-3 & WORK ORDER ALSO SHOWED SERVICE BULLETIN 13-081, REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THEN I SMELLED OIL & SAW A SMALL LEAK IN SEPT 2014. HONDA FOUND LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKET, REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. TOOK VAN TO FLORIDA. WHEN WE GOT THERE WE HAD TO TAKE THE VAN TO A HONDA SHOP FOR A LOW TONE KNOCKING NOISE WHILE IDLING AND LOUDER WHEN ACCELERATING. THEY HAD THE VAN FOR 4 DAYS. HONDA PROVIDED A FREE RENTAL. HONDA WROTE ON WORK ORDER. 43307 WORN CAMSHAFT LOBE CAUSING KNOCKING NOISE 36108, PERFORMED INSPECTION FOUND NOISE COMING FROM FRONT CYLINDER HEAD, CALLED TECHLINE, TECHLINE INSTRUCTED TO INSPECT FOR WORN CAM SHAFT, PULLED VALVE COVER FOUND CYLINDER #6 INTAKE LOBE WORN. REMOVED AND REPLACED FRONT CYLINDER HEAD CAMSHAFT & CAMSHAFT SEAL. NOISE GONE. IT ALSO RESPONDS BETTER WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL & GAS MILEAGE IMPROVED. I BET I HAVE HAD ABOUT $5000 WORTH OF WARRANTY WORK DONE AT THIS TIME JUST FROM UNDER THE HOOD. DURING ALL THIS, I CONTACTED THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU & HONDA WAS NOTIFIED. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO CORPORATE HONDA FROM THE BEGINNING ABOUT THIS VAN & THEY ALWAYS WOULD SAY THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. FINALLY I GET A CALL FROM CORPORATE HONDA TO TELL ME THEY FOUND NOTHING FROM MY VISIT INVOLVING REPLACEMENT OF MY CYLINDERS. BOY WAS HE MISINFORMED AND GOT AN EARFULL. I HAVE ALSO HAD MY FRONT ROTORS RESURFACED (35,657 MILES), GOT A GOODWILL WARRANTY. THEY SHOULD GIVE A GOODWILL WARRANTY WITH ALL THE HONDA VEHICLES WE HAVE BOUGHT. EACH VAN I BUY (1995, 2005, 2012) GETS WORSE AND LASTS FOR A SHORTER LENGTH OF TIME BEFORE I FEEL I CAN'T TRUST IT FOR A TRIP OUT OF TOWN. I AM STARTING TO EXPERIENCE LITTLE ISSUES AGAIN LIKE I DID WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS VAN. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS ON THE DASH BOARD ARE VERY EASY TO SEE AT NIGHT. HOWEVER, IN DAYLIGHT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE OTHER INSTRUMENTS, PARTICULARLY IF WEARING POLAROID SUNGLASSES. THE NUMBERS ON THE SPEEDOMETER ARE GREY ON GREY. THAT AND THE LED LIGHTING MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE HOW FAST THE VEHICLE IS GOING. IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE MOTORISTS HAVE TO SPEND A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF EXTRA TIME LOOKING AT THE SPEEDOMETER IN ORDER TO SEE HOW FAST THE VEHICLE IS GOING. WHILE THE MOTORISTS ARE LOOKING AT THE SPEEDOMETER, THEY CAN'T SEE THE ROAD AND THEY CAN'T SEE POTENTIAL TRAFFIC CONFLICTS. EARLIER MODELS OF HONDA ODYSSEY DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. HONDA KNOWS HOW TO MAKE THE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENTS CLEARLY VISIBLE IN DAYLIGHT. NO NEW TECHNOLOGY HAS TO BE DEVELOPED TO MITIGATE THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW '12 ODYSSEY EXL-NAV (5-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) AND FROM THE DAY I PICKED IT UP, I NOTICED A SHUDDERING WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS AT A SHIFT POINT, ESPECIALLY FROM 2ND TO 3RD AND 3RD TO 4TH. I AM SUBMITTING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I SEE A REGISTERED COMPLIANT FOR ODYSSEY TOURING AND TOURING ELITE MODELS WITH 6-SPEED TRANSMISSIONS BUT NOT FOR THE EX OR EXLS WITH 5-SPEED TRANSMISSION [NHTSA REFERENCE #10046880;TSB REFERENCE #SB-12-064]; HOWEVER I HAVE THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT A HONDA DEALER TWICE NOW TO RESOLVE ISSUE AND LAST TIME THEY MENTIONED THERE HAD BEEN A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY UPLOADED A NEW SOFTWARE CONTROL MODULE. HOWEVER, I STILL HAVE THE ISSUE AND AM CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A DESIGN-FLAW ISSUE THAT HONDA MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIX. PLEASE EXPAND THE NHTSA ISSUE TO INCLUDE THE 5-SPEED TRANSMISSIONS AS WELL AND ADVISE IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO. ALSO, WITH THE BRAND NEW VEHICLE, THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND PULSED WHEN BREAKING AND HAD TO BE RESURFACED WITHIN A MONTH OF DELIVERY. THAT ISSUE IS NOW RESOLVED. *TR
A/C STOPPED BLOWING COLD AIR ALL OF A SUDDEN. TOOK CAR TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. DEALER STATED ROCK PUNCTURED THE CONDENSER, AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. WE BELIEVE, AND THOUSANDS OF OTHERS, THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND FLAW IN DESIGN THAT DOES NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECT THIS COMPONENT, HENCE AMERICAN HONDA IS MAKING A TON OF MONEY OFF ITS CUSTOMERS FOR REPAIRS. CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA FOR RESOLUTION IS USELESS, AS THEY ARE STANDING BEHIND A ROUTINE EXPLANATION OF THAT THEY ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THIS TYPE OF FAILURE, IN THEIR DESIGN. WE NEED HELP! *TR
WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH MY AUNT[XXX] FOR OUR FAMILY, WE WERE BREAKING IT IN AROUND 400 PLUS MILES AND WE NOTICE THERE IS A VIBRATION WHEN THE VCM OR VARIABLE CYLINDER MANAGEMENT TURNS ON. SO WE TOOK IT A THE DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT FROM WHICH IS NORM REEVES HONDA IN WEST COVINA CA. HUMMING VIBRATION NOISE WHEN THE VCM TURNS ON AT ANY SPEED. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, SEPT 27 2012 ME AND MY AUNT JUST BOUGHT A BOUGHT BRAND NEW 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY EX SEPT 21,2012 WITH ONLY 33 MILES ON IT, WE NOTICE A VIBRATION IN THE ENGINE SO I TOOK IT TO NORM REEVES HONDA 1 888 637 7262 ON SEPT 27, 2012 WITH 622 MILES ON IT AND SPOKE TO [XXX] SERVICE ADVISOR I TOLD THEM THAT THERE IS A VIBRATIONS IN THE ENGINE, WIND NOISE, ALIGNMENT PROBLEM AND THE REAR SLIDING DOOR NOT BEING PUSHED. HE SEND A GUY TO MEET ME WHICH HE'S NAME IS[XXX] A SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS WHO COME WITH ME FOR A TEST DRIVE, SO WE WENT AND HE NOTICES THE VIBRATION, WIND NOISE AND THE SLIDING REAR DOOR NOT BEING PLUSH AND THE ALIGNMENT. [XXX] TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL HOOK UP THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OF HONDA TO SEE THE PROBLEM WITH THE VIBRATIONS WE HEAD BACK TO THE DEALER AND HE TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT IT. SO I LEFT ODYSSEY WITH THEM THE WHOLE DAY, I GOT A CALL FROM [XXX] AROUND 4:30 ISH AND TOLD ME THEY FIXED THE REAR DOOR STRIKER, THE REAR SLIDING DOOR THE FIXED ALSO, ALIGNMENT IS NOW STRAIGHT AND THE TOP PART OF THE DOOR IS PLUSHED BUT THE LOWER DOOR IS NOT PLUSHED ANY MORE, THEY FIXED THE ALIGNMENT, THEY SAID THE WIND NOISE IS NORMAL, REGARDING THE VIBRATION, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DROVE THE NEW ONE AND THEY DRIVE THE SAME. CAR VIBRATES AND SHAKES WHEN ON HIGHWAY AND DECELERATING FROM ABOUT 65 MPH TO EVEN JUST 50 MPH, CONTINUOUS PROBLEM. *TR
WHEN TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND FOR 3 TO 5 SECONDS. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN OR GETTING ONTO HIGHWAY. *TR
HEADLIGHTS ARE AIMED TOO LOW, DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING ME $85 DOLLARS TO HAVE IT ADJUSTED AS THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, VEHICLE WAS LEASED AS NEW; ADJUSTED IT MYSELF BUT IT IS AT THE HIGHEST SETTING AND STILL TOO LOW, ADDED FACTORY FOG LAMPS BUT DID NOT REALLY HELP WITH FORWARD ILLUMINATION, LIGHTS ARE OVERRUN BY VEHICLE ON HIGHWAYS GOING 65-70 MPH. VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY , BUT I'M WAITING FOR HONDA TO RECALL AND REPLACE THESE POORLY DESIGNED HEADLAMPS. I DO A LOT OF NIGHT DRIVING AS I WORK NIGHTS, I WAS NOT ABLE TO CATCH THIS ON THE TEST DRIVE, AS TEST DRIVES ARE USUALLY DONE IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A THREE SECOND DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE 2012 MODEL IS A SIX-GEAR VEHICLE AND THERE IS A DELAY BEFORE ACCELERATING SO THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,400. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE HAS A 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH GRADE LOGIC CONTROL AND THE NEW MODELS HAVE A SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH CORRECTED THE HESITATION ON ACCELERATION.
ONGOING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. POSSIBLE SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MULTIPLE ONGOING PROBLEMS FROM: (1) WIFE HAS NEW PACEMAKER, SHE RECEIVED A SHOCK WHILE RESTING HER FEET/LEGS ON THE DASHBOARD (AUG. 2013), (2) DASHBOARD LIGHT(S) KEEP CHANGING IN BRIGHTNESS: WE HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, THE STAFF PLAYS DUMB, LOOKS AT US LIKE WE ARE DUMB, (3) DOCUMENTED WINDOW MALFUNCTION IN AUGUST 2012, DUE TO ELECTRICAL, (4) ELECTRICAL GADGETS SEEM TO WORK WHEN THEY WANT TO, (5) YESTERDAY (8/21/2013) HAD THE IPAD PLUGGED IN TO THE GLOVE BOX POWER, BUT THE IPAD INDICATED THAT IT WAS NOT CHARGING. CONCERN: HEALTH AND SAFETY. *TR
I JUST BOUGHT A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. AT NIGHT YOU CAN NOT SEE VERY WELL WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. IT LEAVES BAD VISUALIZATION OF THE ROAD. IT IS LIKE A BLACK CURTAIN OVER YOUR WINDSHIELD IN DARK COUNTRY ROADS. I ALMOST WENT INTO A RAVINE. THANK GOODNESS I WAS GOING SLOW. I DO NOT TAKE THIS ROUTE MUCH. BUT WHEN GOING INTO VERY DARK AREAS. IT IS A COMPLETE BLACK OUT. I TOOK IT BACK TO MY DEALER IN MENTOR, OHIO. AT CLASSIC AND THE SERVICE MAN WAS VERY RUDE. AND LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS OUT OF MY MIND. I AM A NIGHT NURSE. DRIVE MY KIDS AROUND FOR FUNCTIONS. THIS REALLY SCARES ME. I SEE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A FAMILY VEHICLE. A SAFE VEHICLE. I SEE NOW WHY THEY NEED A GOOD CRASH RATING. IT COULD HAPPEN CAUSE OF THESE HEADLIGHTS. PLEASE HELP! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUSSEX HONDA AT (973) 579-3500 (LOCATED AT 57 HAMPTON HOUSE RD, NEWTON, NJ 07860) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE BATTERY WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PHILLIPSBURG EASTON HONDA (400 COUNTY ROAD 519, PHILLIPSBURG, NJ 08865) WHERE NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN ENOUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 06703538. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT COMES ON VERY LATE WITH <1 GAL FUEL LEFT (ENOUGH FOR LESS THAN 20 MILES ON HIGHWAY). THE MANUAL SAYS THAT IT SHOULD COME ON MUCH EARLIER (ABOUT 3 GAL MARK). THE SENSOR WAS CHANGED BY THE DEALER. STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD REACH HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE STILL HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS OCCURRING BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS NOT A FAULT OF THE VEHICLE ITSELF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION AND THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER IMPACTED HER HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRUISES AND A MINOR CONTUSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE SEAT BELT AND DETERMINED THAT THEY WERE OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS REVERSING OR IN DRIVE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE ECONO DRIVE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (GARDEN STATE HONDA, 225 RIVER DR, PASSAIC, NJ 07055, (973) 777-1600) WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHTENED, BUT THE DEALER DID NOT SPECIFY A REMEDY AND WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE FAILURE WHEN THE DTC WAS NOT SHOWN. THE CONTACT LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED BY A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT CAUSES NECK STRAIN AND REQUIRES VISITS TO DOCTOR OR CHIROPRACTOR. *TR
WE PURCHASED A 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY ON FEBRUARY 18, 2012 FROM SPREEN HONDA. WE RECEIVE 3 FREE OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATIONS. THE FIRST OIL CHANGE DID NOT INCLUDE A TIRE ROTATION, BUT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE IN GREAT SHAPE. THE 2ND OIL CHANGE INCLUDED A TIRE ROTATION. THIS WAS APPROX. IN JUNE OF 2012. AFTER THE TIRE ROTATION, WE EXPERIENCED SOME SHAKING AT HIGHER SPEEDS WHEN WE APPLIED THE BRAKES. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO SPREEN HONDA AND JIM, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND IT WAS FROM 'THE HEAT'. HE RESURFACED THEM FOR FREE UNDER THE WARRANTY. IN JUNE OF 2013, WE HAD BOTH FRONT AND REAR BRAKES REPLACED. THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED AS PART OF THE BRAKE INSTALLATION. WE REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES IN MARCH OF 2014. THIS WAS THE 2ND SET OF NEW TIRES FOR THIS VAN. AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION WAS DONE BY FIRESTONE ON 5/3/2014. WE EXPERIENCED SHAKING WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, ESPECIALLY DOWN HILL. RETURNED VEHICLE TO FIRESTONE AND TALKED TO THE MANAGER. HE DID A BRAKE INSPECTION AND STATED THE ROTORS WERE WARPED AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH SURFACE ON THEM TO RESURFACE SO THEY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. LOOKED OVER MY RECORDS FOR THE TOYOTA CAMRY I TRADED IN TO SEE THAT THERE WAS NOT A HISTORY OF MISUSE OF BRAKES AND THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED AFTER FIVE YEARS. CALLED HONDA AND SPOKE TO THEIR RECALL DEPARTMENT WHO TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS. RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL FROM HONDA WHO TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING HE CAN DO AND NOTED THE ACCOUNT. TOLD HIM THAT I AM LOOKING FURTHER INTO THIS MATTER AND WILL TAKE IT FROM THERE. CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT SPREEN HONDA AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL BACK REGARDING THIS MATTER. 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS A SHUTTERING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THIS SEEMS MOST PREVALENT AROUND 40+ MILES PER HOUR, HOWEVER, IT CAN HAPPEN AT VARYING SPEEDS. OUR BRAND NEW 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING ELITE JUDDERS BETWEEN 25-40 MPH BETWEEN SHIFTS. THE JUDDER CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM MILD AND VERY TRANSIENT TO ROUGH BUCKING THAT LASTS FOR OVER 2 SECONDS BEFORE IT SMOOTHS OUT. UNDER MILD OR HEAVY ACCELERATION, I HAVE NOT NOT NOTICED THE JUDDER. IT SEEMS TO ONLY HAPPEN UNDER MODERATE ACCELERATION. IT ALSO SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE VIOLENTLY WHILE GOING UPHILL. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST 90% OF THE TIME DURING THE SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEARS UNDER MODERATE (TYPICAL) ACCELERATION. THIS JUDDER RESULTS IN A LOSS OF EXPECTED ACCELERATION AND DECREASED CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FROM WHEN IT WAS NEW. EVERY 3000 MILES THE BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE GONE BAD. THEY HAVE BEEN RESURFACED AND REPLACED BY HONDA 2 TIMES. EACH TIME THE ISSUE OF VIBRATION FROM THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES RECURRED. I HAVE SINCE RAN OUT OF WARRANTY (60K MILES ON THE ODO). AT 50K I REPLACED THE ROTORS AND PADS WITH AFTERMARKET. THOSE TOO HAVE WARPED. THE BRAKES FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE SIMPLY TOO SMALL AND OVERWHELMED OR THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY WRONG WITH THESE VANS. I SEE ALMOST HALF OF THE COMPLAINTS ARE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, YET HONDA HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS IT. HONDA QUALITY OF THE PAST SEEMS TO BE GONE AS ALL PRIOR HONDA'S WERE BULLET PROOF. IN DEC OF 2012, ONE YEAR AFTER I FIRST STARTED TO COMPLAIN, THEN CONTACTED CORPORATE HONDA DIRECTLY, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO FIX MY AIR LEAK AT MY EAR. NOW I CAN HEAR ALL THE AIR NOISE AROUND THE WINDSHIELD AND SUN ROOF. THEY SAY THERE NO FIX FOR THIS. AT SPEEDS OF 40 MPH AND ABOVE IT IS AGGRAVATING.
